Warehousing Woes
Let’s talk about warehousing, Just-In-Time (JIT), First-In-First-Out (FIFO), and Lean. The warehousing woes of JIT and FIFO create headaches high past time to remedy. With JIT every manufacturing process, product storage, and delivery option has to co-ordinate like a well-oiled machine. Products following JIT procedures are timed off the manufacturing belts and accounted for at points of service…

Social Media Profiling: A Picture is Worth 1,000 Word
The facts are in the profile details, and everything an employer could value is loose on Social Media. On the other hand, the profile picture is a year to three years old, and the interview is next week by video conference. Oooops! The potential employer might be in for a surprise. In a study conducted in 2023, LinkedIn profile pictures stayed up for three (3) to six (6) years in 50.26% of LinkedIn users surveyed. (Find the study here: https://passport-photo.online/blog/linkedin-profile-pictures/) A guide released to encourage adding profile photos to Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn suggests using the same picture on all profiles and hiring a professional photographer, treating Social Media profile pictures like theatre and film audition headshots. (Crestodina, A., Orbit Media Studios.) This pedantry creates a barrier to frequent (six (6) months to one (1) year) Social Media profile picture changes by adding cost. Without enough differences in the Social Media “eye,” human resources representatives might feel like they have been “tricked” as it is difficult to appear the same as a profile professional photograph in person when, for example, working from home. There is some wisdom in Social Media profile picture variations as Social Media sites structure their profile shots in different types of windows and framing. (Google+ likes casual with no photo filters, while Airnb prefers fun and personality with a background element.)
“They say a picture paints a thousand words and this is particularly true in the field of social media.” (Macmillan, D., March 13, 2018.) It is a fact that Social Media site views increase with profile pictures. Social Media site visits and site views are separate buckets. A visit to a site with a picture is more likely to have a profile read. Most of the evidence points toward three cautionary notes: 1) Express personality and reality equally in every Social Media profile picture, 2) image profile pictures for the desired impression of each Social Media site, and 3) use a Social Media profile picture as a marketing tool. A recommendation is to use a site before setting a profile picture. Experiment with a few profile pictures upfront and ask some site platform contact members for input and reactions on new image decisions. As a Social Media site becomes a comfortable place for navigation and interaction, set up a profile picture. After establishing a Social Media site profile picture, once site users are familiar with it, too much worry and frequent changes to a profile picture confuse site viewers and contacts. Think of the content of a Social Media profile, including the picture, as Evergreen. When life changes, accomplishments accrue, or personal appearance alters, update Social Media sites and remember to change the entire Social Media platform. Another best practice policy for those without time to invest is to hire a Social Media expert to “babysit” online profile status and housekeeping. Whether posing for a new Social Media headshot or re-writing an internet profile background, put forward the best positioning for reaching the site-appropriate audience, and remember- when in front of the camera- be authentic, relax, and Smile!
