Idk, but if Putin doesn’t want the Wagner Group to continue challenging him, maybe he should just give the Wagner Group whatever Russian territory they control. Do it for peace and to stop unnecessary bloodshed, like he told Ukraine to do.

house md wildest show on earth. a main character outright assassinates a known dictator, a moment that would be the very beginning or the mid-series crisis in any other show - an act which creates a power vacuum in a foreign nation already filled with child soldiers and genocide, and it's literally only brought up again throughout the season because that guy's wife divorces him over it. and occasionally to explore his relationship with who he is as a person and a catholic after having deliberately taken a life for what he calculates as the greater good, but mostly it's about his divorce

nothin' serious, just thinkin
The whole situation with a certain Indie creator’s work blowing up too quickly and feeling overwhelmed by it, really makes me think about how… not fun it is sometimes when your work gets popular. Obviously my level of popularity and fandom doesn’t match there’s but dealing with people who see your OCs and start claiming them as their own, disrespect boundaries and basically hound you with their preferences is such a reoccurring problem it’s a bit scary.
For example, I remember wanting to completely scrap Powers as a character when people were treating her as a self insert to be homophobic and misogynistic, despite carrying neither of those traits. People make fetish art of my OCs and then tag me in it (and if I don’t reblog/retweet it they practically spam me about it). I’ve had people try to steal my own OCs out of spite. I’ve seen people draw smut of my underaged characters. People have gotten angry with me when my characters disprove their headcanons or present themselves in ways that aren’t their preferences. The amount of times I’ve dealt with people genuinely angry with me that Sera is a woman is a scary amount. Queer people thinking my art is fetish content that is catered for straight men. I’ve had people tell me that because I don’t depict more of a specific group, that means I despise them and that my art is inherently promoting hateful ideology for not depicting them. People sending me videos of bugs being killed or mocking my characters because they think it’s funny. and I have to repeat again these aren’t random trolls online, this is from my own followers.
And you guys have seen how angry people get when I tell them to stop being bigoted under my queer art, whether it’s complaining that I’m drawing too many women/lesbians or bitching that I’m drawing gay men at all, I’ve had to deal with the unfortunate fact some of my followers, no matter how many times I try to push them off my account are just… very hateful and think my work is fetish content meant to cater to them. Lesbian art isn’t queer art, it’s a porn category for some people. And a lot of queer men think it’s fine to lesbophobic and misogynistic under my art and demand that I draw less female characters because (insert that annoying Speed quote here)
I do really like the fanart and I’m completely fine with NSFW works as long as the characters are 18+, but it’s just. It’s scary sometimes. And it scares me to imagine what would happen if I really blew up. Respect creator’s boundaries… please.

Peter: I discovered the best power move
Tony: Oh yeah? What is it?
Peter: just look someone in the eyes and tell them "I talked to my therapist about you" then never elaborate
Tony: that's pretty good actually
Peter: I know right! You have to wait for the perfect timing though, you don't want it to seem like you want them to know that, you know?
Tony: Oh yeah, I completely agree.
Tony: *3 minutes later* HEY STEVE! GUESS WHAT! I TALKED TO MY THERAPIST ABOUT YOU!

[A lot of people know this as the Port City because of the Cape Fear River and all the history with the pirates and the Civil War. And a lot of other folks, they know it yet, all great truths begin as blasphemies.]

Lewis Powell (né Payne), one of the conspirators in the assassination of Abraham Lincoln who personally attempted to murder Secretary of State William H. Seward. Civil War photographer Alexander Gardner took this picture at the Washington D.C. Naval Yard, 27 April 1865. Two months later Powell was executed for his crimes.

Today I'm having thoughts about Lucius Julius Caesar. No, not Famous Caesar. I mean his obscure and thoroughly ordinary cousin.
Lucius saw his-brother-in-law Lentulus Sura get revealed as one of the leaders of a conspiracy trying to overthrow the government. Lucius voted to execute him for that. Fourteen years later, despite personally being a moderate, Lucius was frozen out by Cato's group for being related to Famous Caesar. Then Famous Caesar invaded Italy, and Lucius refused to fight on either side, but his son ran off to join the Pompeians.
Three years after that, despite Famous Caesar generally trying not to kill senators outside of battle, it's very likely that he executed Lucius' son.
Two years after that, Lucius personally witnessed Famous Caesar get stabbed 23 times. Lucius then became one of the leading voices calling for peace and restoring the republic, trying to mediate between Cicero and Mark Antony.
Antony, the stepson of Lentulus Sura, and Lucius' nephew, who remembered Lucius voting for Lentulus' execution.
Negotiations failed. Civil war erupted, again.
And when the Second Triumvirate unleashed their proscriptions, Antony ordered Lucius executed along with Cicero. It took Julia, Lucius' sister, standing in the doorway of her house to physically block a squad of legionaries from killing him.

I love and adore Alicent Hightower but baby, “My son has lost an eye…Over an insult? 🥺🥺”
sweetie you have been trying to leverage one of your culture’s greatest, most shameful taboos with anyone who will listen to get your ex crush/bff and her (v likely illegitimate tbf) sons disinherited for nearly ten years??
Now all of a sudden questioning someone’s legitimacy is nbd? Just ‘an insult’? Really? You’ve just been in a silly goofy mood for ten years? Bit of harmless name-calling was it?
Obviously a kids’ fight should never have escalated to someone losing an eye, because the children had no business being party to whatever political nonsense/family drama was going on. But the boys coming to blows over this was fairly predictable, especially as they got older. Babe, you actively chose to alienate your sons from their nephews in that way when you live in a culture where duels to the literal death over offended honour is a thing??? Where trial-by-combat is a 100% legit legal tactic?
Driftmark witnessed some truly audacious attempts at gaslighting that night but ALICENT REALLY
tl;dr Alicent lit the fuse on the Hightower v Velaryon/Strong kids conflict, she just didn’t intend for that particular bomb to go off so soon, or think that it would blow up in her son’s faces (much less that uh…literally)
