Long time no see. I’m a uni student so I’ve been a bit more busy than usual, however, I’m glad to be back. As a student in my last semester, ready to enter the “real world”, I have had much thought about my stance in life. About if I am ahead or behind others.

Comparison is a thing that will never do anyone good. Throughout your life, you may be more prone to thinking about what others have acquired at a certain point in time. You might think about another’s upbringing, academic success, beauty. You might think about your own and find faults in it. At other points, you may feel a bit proud of what you’ve done so far.

I’m here to remind you that girl/boy/human, you’re doing great and you’ve come so far. You’ve achieved some of your goals if not all and that’s a win. You’ve managed to get past certain emotions or insecurities and that’s a win.

You, as everyone else, are on a journey that is set only for you. You’re timing is aligned with what you are ready for. You are one in a million and you will lead a fruitful life so long as you fight for it.

Even as a twenty-something, I can safely say that I am proud of you! I hope you find this message comforting.

Guide to Building a Classic Wardrobe

I was asked a long time ago by an anon for a guide to build a wardrobe. This style caters to someone mature, slightly conservative, NOT fashionnova-esque, something that will last a long time in all fashion seasons, provided you look after your items well. I live in a relatively hot climate and the coldest temperature I’ve experienced when living in a place is like 10 degree Celsius, so I will admit that I am not very well versed with living in cold climates for a prolonged period of time (I don’t think a 2 week trip to Switzerland in the summer counts as “cold”).

I have purposely built with keeping neutrals in mind. I’ve learned that its best to first build a neutral coloured wardrobe in mind, then start adding colour to it. You might find this wardrobe boring, but if you work in a corporate environment/ somewhere where you can’t showcase too much colour or creativity/ if you come from a relatively conservative/ high profile-but-not-entertainment /modest culture, you’ll find this useful.

ALWAYS keep an eye on the material of the item you are buying. If you have to buy a sweater and you live in a cold climate, buy cashmere. Yes, it will be expensive, but it will keep you warm and last longer. If you live in a hot climate, invest in tops and dresses made out of pure cotton. Material plays a huge role in the climate you live in.

I do not endorse fast fashion or over-consumerism but I understand that it is affordable. I would therefore recommend you to buy things carefully and with consideration, not just for the sake of the environment but for your wallet. It’s better to buy 1 quality item than 10 horribly made, short-lasting items.

Never mix more than 3 colours in your outfit at a time. That’s something my father taught me, and I recommend you stick to it, especially if you’re new to building a serious wardrobe.

Lastly, do not be enthralled by what influencers buy or wear. I can guarantee you that the clothes they wear on Instagram aren’t even theirs half the time. Don’t fall into the trap of micro trends.

Offering him a nod, you follow, lowering your eyes to your bag, ready to take out your things as you enter a large living area and your breath is taken away by not only the aesthetic of the place but also the floor and the ceiling windows, offering you the view you had imagined in the elevator.

“It’s stunning, right?”

A familiar voice causes your brows to furrow even as you take a step towards the windows. Why did that man sound so familiar?

Jeonghan tilts his head, looking at you from behind as you look out the window at the view. He could tell you were gorgeous even from where he was standing but he hadn’t seen your face just yet. You seemed to have been startled by his voice; that hadn’t been his intention but he did have that effect on people occasionally.

“My apologies; I didn’t mean to startle you. I’m Yoon Jeon—”

“Jeonghan?”

Turning towards him, your eyes widening, you stare at him as if you had just seen a ghost. Swallowing hard, Hansol takes a step back towards Jeonghan, pursing his lips before offering him the penthouse key.

“If you need me, sir – “

“Then I’ll call you. You can go, Hansol.”

A smile pulls at Jeonghan’s lips as he steps towards you, putting the keycard into his suit jacket pocket. Dark eyes move over your face and body before the man you have known for years is within arms reach and he laughs in disbelief.

“No way…Kitten?”

Your eyes were searching Jeonghan so closely to make sure he was real that you hadn’t realized that another man had moved into the room. Hearing the nickname that you had once been called in high school by your two best friends, you glance to your right, only to take a step back in shock to see Wonwoo smiling at you.

“I– no one has called me that in a long time.”

Grinning, Jeonghan reaches out to take your hand, as you seem to almost stumble in surprise at seeing ghosts from your past. He wasn’t worried about the glass behind you breaking but he was concerned about you getting hurt from falling down, as unstable as you seemed on your feet.

“Well, no one but us called you that anyway.

It had been around a decade since you had seen either of your friends in person after the three of you had made promises to stay in touch. Graduation had come and gone and the promise became harder and harder to keep as each of you went in different directions.

You knew they were successful. Jeonghan’s family had always been successful so it was a clear path for him into business. Wonwoo, you had seen him as the face of many brands and the star of many dramas and movies. Meanwhile, your road to success had taken a bit longer and you were still climbing. Now your climb was looking like a shear cliff face as you looked at the two men in front of you with expectant looks in their eyes.

“Holy shit, you look great, Kitten.”

Wonwoo’s voice was quiet but warm, just as you remembered it. He had always been a comfort in your life when you were younger and you had found yourself cheering him on with each award he had received over his years of blooming into a renowned actor.

“Wonwoo… thanks.”

'The Best Seat in the House' Sofa Suite

A sofa, loveseat and extra-wide armchair, plus a refurbished EA armchair

So I've looked in the game, and did you know that across the SIXTY FIVE packs currently available for The Sims™ 4, there are, in my opinion, only EIGHT* sofas that look both: moderately comfortable, and modest aesthetically. Of those eight, only two come with a matching loveseat and armchair. When I saw 'The Best Seat in the House' in EA's newest Basement Treasures kit, I was overcome with a sense of urgency. We can have a ninth comfy, modest-looking sofa set. And here it is! I've cleaned up the textures, and doubled and tripled that original armchair to present to you all, now, a sofa set. I'm a little emo because it looks pretty much identical to the sofa I am sat on right now, and I can confirm that I am VERY comfortable right now. Anyway more pics and D/L link below!!

There was a lot of time spent painstakingly creating the art in this 1977 mid-century modern home in San Luis Obispo, California and it won the prestigious San Luis Beautiful House Award for architectural and aesthetic excellence. 4bds, 3ba, $2.15M. Check out this house of murals.

Foyer with double doors has a peacock theme. I can't tell if the art is mosaic b/c the photos are blurred. Above, they even decorated the skylight.

It's not only paint like the flamingos in the fireplace, but also mosaics, like the square on the wall.

The terrace off the living room has a mural on both walls.

The open living area consists of the formal living room, dining area, and kitchen.

The kitchen mosaics were done by hand, they're not store-bought sheets of mosaic tile, b/c of the color of the cabinets, I think I would've preferred a lighter more lively color.

The primary bedroom has a terrace. There's a mural in the corner.

Murals are also on both walls of this terrace, just like the one off the living room.

Interesting bath has a vintage style tub and a very modern sink.

In this room the mural is in the shower.

Another mural appears on the landing to the 2nd level.

The family room walls are lined in paintings.

There's another terrace off the family room that has a table and small fridge, plus a tropical fish mural.

A kitchenette downstairs is decorated with jewels.

This bedroom has all sorts of art.

A 3rd bedroom full of art.

This odd little room looks like it's all bed and it has a stone tub in the en-suite.

The grounds are beautiful and the view is amazing from up here on the mountain. This sink unit looks like it's deteriorating, so it will need some work.

There are patios and terraces, all with views.

So much lush greenery.

The rear of the house.

7,000 sq. ft. lot, so it doesn't have acreage and the neighboring houses are pretty close for a property that's priced at $2.15M and I'm not even sure if I like the art.

The dualities and contradictions that characterized male fashion in the early Napoleonic period are captured in this spectacularly schizophrenic ensemble. Under the disintegrating forces of the French Revolution (1789-1794), the 18th century confidence, some might say smugness, in its uniformity of aesthetic beliefs was to disappear. The restless need for social and political reform, which began in the 1780s and was fostered through the works of the philosophes, resulted in new patterns of consumption and new forms of self-expression. For a time, however, the ideas, values and aesthetics of the Ancien Régime competed and co-existed with those of the founding Republic.

This jockeying for position between the old and new elites gave birth to a variety of hybrid or transitional styles of dress, this suit being an outstanding example. Comprising a coat with narrow sleeves and a straight, cut-away skirt, a short vest or gilet and a pair of breeches that covered the legs below the knees, it recalls the cool Neoclassicism of the Enlightenment. At the same time, its simple lines and complete absence of decoration reflects the Anglomania that had been a feature of male fashions in France since the 1740s, but which came to the fore in the 1780s. The opulence and frenzied frivolity of Ancien Régime court dress or habits à la française, however, remain in its luxurious fabric and its lurid, effervescent color. Its stand-up collar is also a vestige of the old order, but its exaggerated height anticipates the style of the Incroyables. Like these giddy young men of the mid- to late 1790s, the wearer of this suit was almost certainly an élégant, an 'enlightened' aristocrat who hid his anti-Jacobin tendencies by adopting the puritanical design vocabulary of the republicans.
