yo im aware that theres some absolutely wild nonsense going in the top/bottom narusasu discourse side of tumblr so im here to make my contribution considering the funniest case scenario i can think of:

anyway canon evidence is not even the reason i made this post i did it because of the way i think they accidentally became bottoms.

Imagine this: Batman is already a stabilished hero, he has been doing his thing for some years now, probably never had a Robin (at best a recently-turned-Nightwing Dick Grayson who won’t appear during the story) and during a patrol night spying on the Cluemaster’s crew he finds this one kid in between 12-15 years old with a cheap domino mask and a purple cape with a hood in the same task as himself (though way more sloppily). He tries to scold her home but she claims to be a hero too and says that she’s here to spoil Cluemaster’s plans. Bruce insists that it’s not safe and she should go home, but she is persistent and doesn’t back down until he threatens to take her to the cops. She reluctantly agrees to show him the way to her house. They both walk together, the kid anxiously gripping on his arm as they approach this one dirty-looking house in a poor neighborhood, the girl points to the house and says “This one’s mine” and gingerly goes inside without saying another word.

When Batman is leaving he notices the kid stole his grappling gun. He looks upset, but doesn’t try to get it back.

Because of the little distraction Bruce can’t catch the Cluemaster (or Arthur Brown) that night, but he keeps his eyes open during patrol, always checking in on the last location of the gang’s reunion and looking for hints of where he may be hiding, but in this job he keeps running into the kid again and again, he tries a harsher approach, convinced that he’ll be able to keep her away from danger, but she only seems to get more and more persistent. Despite being worried, at some point Bruce accepts that he won’t be able to stop her from running away from home at night to “patrol” and lets it be with one condition; they meet up at a spot near her house, keep tabs on Cluemaster together and at the end of the night Bruce makes sure she is safe and sound at home and she has to accept without complaints.

Bruce starts quite enjoying the kid’s company and they get increasingly closer. They talk about their mission, but also about random things. She brings a light and mundanity to his night shift that he never thought he’d have. She eventually agrees to tell him her name, Stephanie. She gives no last names, though. Says she’ll only reveal her secret identity when he reveals his. He laughs.

Their talks on Steph’s way home become the bast part of Bruce’s day, they discuss everything and nothing, sometimes even stopping to get food and just hang out at rooftops after patrol. Occasionally she’ll manage to steal some of his batarangs and other gadgets, he notices but never complains, letting her have this small sense of victory.

But with all the small hints Bruce starts to wonder why is this girl so obsessed with getting the Cluemaster. He questions her about it. She gets very angry, says that scum like him “deserves to die”, Batman tries to lecture her about it, saying that no one deserves to die and this type of thought is what leads people to acting like Arthur Brown, she shouts at him; “Don’t ever compare me to that man!”. The walk back to the house that night is silent.

Bruce does his homework back on the batcave, having had enough with Stephanie keeping secrets, he finds out that Arthur is her father. He tries to talk to her about it but she shuts him down, they keep having silent patrols for the next week or so, when all this laying-low type of work finally leads to a proper opportunity for an “attack”, knowing this, Batman meets up with Stephanie and tells her that she won’t be coming tonight, says this is a dangerous situation and that she should just stay home and wait for him on the next night. Steph tries to discuss, but he says it’s for her own safety and doesn’t let her have a word on the matter.

Without Bruce’s blessing, Steph goes to Cluemaster’s place by herself. There she finds Bruce in a hard fight, he is outmanned by atleast five people, she is convinced he can’t take it and jumps in through a window to help. Stephanie knocks man out in her land, saving Bruce's ass from getting stabbed on the back. They both finish the fight together, when everyone is knocked out or can't get on their feet anymore, Stephanie jumps on Arthur's throat with a chain, she starts choking him with it, and too tired to fight it, he is about to die. Bruce convinces her not to do it, and she reluctantly agrees.

Batman and Steph take the men to the police, earning some strange looks from Gordon and other cops, who end deciding on not question it. Bruce invites Steph to go on a walk with him. They go around the city, discussing everything that happened, he says that murdering is not worth it. She disagrees. He says that it won't bring her any satisfaction. She stays silent. He asks if she really wants this life for herself. Not because of her father, revenge or as a game, if she actually wants to help. She says that this is all she's ever wanted. He shakes her hand.

"What's your name?"

She hesitates for a moment: "Spoiler"

"Mine is Bruce", he answers with a smile before taking his cowl off. Steph stares at him, slightly taken a back. "Batman and Spoiler, huh? I like the sound of that", he says, giving Stephanie a pat on the shoulder.

she used to live with her parents and her older brother, andrew graves, 2 years older, but this bitch, apart from being absolutly beutiful, is an obssesive, manipulative son of a motherfucker, cuz she forces her brother into doing things that her brother doesnt want to do, and then blames him for those things to make him feel guilty and put him closer to her, just to keep all his love to herself, she has made him kill a childhood girl named nina only cuz ashley found out that she liked andrew (also, in this time, when they are kids, they arent named andrew and ashley, but andy and leyley, cuz idk lil kid nicknames) they also buried the body terribly wrong and their parents found out that they killed that girl, putting us in the present where shes now stuck in an apartment cuz the water suply got contaminated with parasites and now theyre infected and quarantined, for some reason due to their blood type being AB they no longer get fed by the wardens, making them feel angry and wanted to leave, between all the things they did to get out of the apartment is: they saw how theyre neighbor summoned a demon and sacrificed himself by accident cuz he didnt have no soul to offer, ate the neighbor (cannibalism, yes, one of the qualities that made this game popular), also manually killed a warden with a cleaver, killed another warden undirectly by sacrificing him to the same demon, killed a woman from downstairs, and escaped.

gotta make sure you understand that these are not things that only ashley did, killing the warden manually and killing the neighbor from downstairs was andrews making, but only to protect ashley and himself, the rest of it ashley did it, and andrew took participation too, then when they left, they went to live to a far department, got chased by a hitman, killed the hitman, discovered a whole cult of satanists, learned a thing or two about them, also, forgot to mention that ashley stole a gun from one of the wardens, so they killed the hitman using that gun, then they stole a car and went to their parents house, also forgot to mention that when ashley sacrificed one of the wardens to the demon she got a lil trinket as a reward that would allow her to see visions of the future, which she used to avoid being killed by the hitman.

then when they were at their parents house, they stole all of their mothers money, discovered that their parents had sold their organs but failed, somehow, they still got the death certificates, then ashley and andrew just sacrificed their own parents to the same demon to recharge the trinket to be able to have more visons of the future, which one of em was about both siblings having sex (incest, the one thing that made this game popular in the first place) and then they left to get rid of their parents corpses in diferent ways, they also did human soup with their parents insides cuz why not (more cannibalism) and then they threw their bones and skulls into the ocean, the end, for now, im still waiting for chapter 3 to see how much sibling love and incest is there gonna be, and yeah theres a quite bunch more than to what i meantioned, but what you need to know the most about this girl is:

like literally just offer to spare mikage's life if teito rejoins the army. how hard is that??? also they mentioned they wanted to make teito ayanami's apprentice and it would have been interesting if his memories hadn't come back until after that happened

the dynamic if that were to happen would also be incredibly interesting, it would undoubtedly be tense af, Teito would not trust ayanami further than he could throw him, which we know is approximately 0mm, and even less than he originally did, so honestly we might just be in the negatives. and after returning from his initial getaway to district 7 (assuming the events early in the narrative ie teito’s escape and mikage’s capture remain unchanged from the original) he’d have even more questions i assume than when he eavesdropped on that convo where ayanami basically admitted he committed genocide in Raggs. a key question here as i see it would be at what point during the first chapters Teito’s return would happen, before or after he encounters the kor and remember’s his “father” tell him he’s the last hope of Raggs and to never fall into the hands of the empire. Obviously at this point teito doesnt know that this is more so because he is the host of the eye of mikhail and not so much because he is of Raggs. Question is also whether ayanami would actually take the time to take teito as his apprentice in pursuit of his objectives as that would be more tedious than extracting the eye (which is possible and happens in like? ch 70/80 there between) but then that raises the question of to what extent mikhail’s relationship with teito at that point was the key factor in the successful separation and whether ayanami would be able to use it at all if mikhail wasnt somewhat cooperative when not under duress.

theres also the very real chance that mikage would simply off himself in that scenario to allow teito his freedom from the empire. our guy would do that. he very much already did that.

and also to be fair the reason ayanami didnt do that which might seem like a more logical or well. effective maybe, move is probably because he 1) has only recently started caring for humans at all and only a few select at that and, related, 2) doenst understand people very well

Yeah no, they have no reason to be so rude, it all started with me calling her out on The Crow, they literly said the movie wasn’t going to be a complete carbon copy remake, it’s mostly based off the comics this time, this girl can’t read. 2. A mixture of defiant anger, and fear of what that would mean not just for him, but for those around him. This amount of stress would definitely lower his defence against his curse, and it would begin taking control.

3. He'd have to be very heavily restrained, for starters. Big uncomfortable heavy shackles that were capable of containing him even in his cursed state. Initially branding would be a very good starter, specially if it was a way of marking him as a monster and humiliate him for it. I think a situation like Creta's labyritnh could be fun too. Just leave him alone and forgotten on the darkness.

9. Lamb is pretty much the only one that could be of immediate help to Wolf. He'd likely not be happy seeing someone else hurt his Wolfie and help him the best he could, cuddling up and healing wahtever wounds he got. Of course, he can't heal scars, so the brand remains.

Without Lamb to help, he'd have to isolate himself for everyone's safety. Probably hide somewhere in the wilderness and licks his wounds, hoping to fight off and keep the curse under control by his sheer will, while exposed to the elements and praying he dont get a basty infection :)

Crow

2. Goes in stages. Internally, they are bursting with hatred and anger. He does try to keep the stoic the best he can, but it doenst last much. They'd alternate between being stoic and defiant, depending on who are they interacting it and how long its been going for. After that he'd likely break down, plead and beg.

3. To tackle on his past trauma, mostly medical related stuff. White sterile rooms, endless blood draws, questionable drugs. Lots of eletricity related stuff to spark up some nice bad memories.

9. Crow isolates and is very self destructive. He is someone who struggles immensely with asking for help, and even ends up being angry with those who try to offer it (hence, him semi-oftenly beating Bunny up). When he can get away with it, he also turns to substance abuse, but its not something he can always do with superiors keeping an eye on him.

Lamb

2. In the past, when it happened, it had been their whole life. They faced it more or less like an inevitability, always trying to perform the best they could to earn some shreds of kindness. If it happened, again, he'd be in absolute hysterics until he exhausted himself and went unresponsive or back into very submissive and pliant behavior.

3. Beatings, whips and rough manhandling would be a good start, as well as just keeping him in a dark, dirty and nasty place, preferably with the floor padded with hay. Lamb's been used as breeding stock for years, so anything touching on that trauma.

9. He's already a little unstable. If it was quick/temporary, he'd be very, very depressed and seek comfort, mostly on Wolf. He'd have Wolf watching their back all the time. He'd grow very paranoid. But if it was bad enough, Lamb would maybe grow even harsher and colder. As it is, so far, he can be reasoned with, theres things and hopes and dreams he cares about. But after another big trauma of that sort, he'd just burn the whole world down.

Bunny

2. Bunny is somewhat pliant but that comes more from having always lived a rough life and expecting tragedy at every turn. He's conformed to the notion that everything will always suck and doesn't have too much self esteem. He can be a little defiant too, mostly with questioning the situation. Over time he'd likely grow even more bitter.

3. Anything would work well for Bunny but I like the image of him tied up with his hands up, bleeding :)

9. Bunny isolates too, but in his case is more involuntary. He doesn't really trust anyone on his life, and for good reason. He'd escape to sleep as much as possible, since he has nowhere else to go, and take whatever comfort he can from people, even if he refuses to open up to them.

Why? Great question. So we know steves got shit parents and was probably awfully neglected n all that, so.

The lyrics "nothing 'bout the way you were treated seemed especially alarming till now, so you tie up yoyr hair and you smile like its no big deal" obvi he doesnt tie up his hair, but that doesn't matter- its the fact that Steve doenst pay any attention to how he was treated because to him, its been normal since early childhood. He acts like everythings okay. I think that he pretended everything was cool in the earlier seasons as lobg as he had people to take his problems out on, and I think that current steve is convinced that everythibgs alright as long as the people he loves are alright.

He would talk abt this stuff like it wasn't anything big but I know that people like robin, max (+ maybe eddie), defiently see thru it and know how much it actually hurts.

I think Steve would feel kind of sad about the fact that he raised himself, and took on responsibilities not even a 20 year old should have full control of at a young age. But another part of him would feel guilty for being upset about it because for some reason, hes convinced he is a burden to his parents. He feels like it was his job to take on these responsibikies and he shouldn't feel bad about it.

Even after Steves on his own and moved out, he probably wouldn't be able to bring himself to cut ties with his parents. He just can't, he feels some sort of responsibility and guilt towards them. And everyone around him but himself can see, that if he wpuld just let go of them, he wouldn't be in so much pain. He wouldn't be miserable and sad when hes not distracted, he'd be able to move on.

Theyre the family he never properly had. And I believe that Steve tries SO hard to be for them what he never got. He tries to have family meals, he goes to all of their events, he listens to their interests even if he doesnt have any interest in em. He gives them rides, he tries his best to be supportive. He truly sees these people as family, and they end up teaching him what real love feels like.

OMG YES THAT WOULD BE SO CUTE!! ive always had a hc that demons actually have retractable fangs (and claws) and they only use them for defensive purposes. Like there fangs are smol enough to where they cant do anything to cause serious harm but if they need to get out of someone's hold or anything like that they will bite down long enough for them to let go. They are about the same size as gelda's fangs and when they have them out you can see them sticking out and its super cute. id also like to think that Meliodas is super self conscious about them so he doenst let anyone see them (but liek eli and zel of course) and when he lives with the sins and stuff he never lets them out. he only lets them out around people he really trusts. He even tried to rip them out because he didnt want them anymore. But of course Eli found him with his face, mouth and hands covered in blood as tears streamed down his face as he kept trying to get them out. Eli ran over to him and held his hands and arms in hers to prevent him from hurting himself further as she called for merlin to come and help. As they were waiting for Merlin Eli whispered gently to him about how they were apart of him and he shoudlnt try to change himself because she loved him for who he was and those fangs were just as much as apart that. She loved them and even thought they were beautiful. This of course made mel cry even more but not for the same reasons as before but because someone had finally called his fangs beautiful and made him actually feel better about having them. Because of this talk mel never tried to rip them out again. he still hide them but he felt less self conscious then he did before. Zeldris on the other hand loves his fangs mainly because he basically matches with gelda and she thinks they are adorable. He did try and bite her to suck her blood to see what would happen and it didnt turn out how hed expect (hes a little dummy LOL) so he never did it again but he still loves that he basically matches with her. he keeps them out all the time and whenever shes bored gelda will often then play with them something that makes zeldris embarrassed but he lets her do as she pleases because he cant say no to her. plus hes in her lap so theres no way hes moving. he only retracts them when Gelda was sealed because it just made him too sad to think about and he never let them back out until she and him were reunited. When he vists mel and eli in the castle he does retract them back so as not to scare any humans but when they are alone he lets them back out again. along with his claws as well. Zeldris's are also a little smaller then Mel's because they arent fully developed yet because hes still young. this causes mel to tease him (lovingly) about it to which zel will get very annoyed and begin to chase him around threatning to kill him if he doenst knock it off. It takes gelda having to grab him by the scruff and holding him against her chest for Zeldris to calm donw but he still swears vengeance agaisnt mel for what he said. And spoilers mel doenst stop even after that LOL.

hayley and elijah are............. too much for me

like they clearly have feelings for each other from the very first moment, but elijah keeps pushing her away, no matter how much he cares, because he doesnt wanna ruin his relationship w klaus, then she meets jackson, and shes supposed to marry him and he knows that but still they steal a moment.

and the only time that he almost says how he feels, she begs him not to, because she has to marry someone else. so he doenst, and she does and he watches from afar.

yet these feelings are always always there, and everyone, including jackson knows, but they never act on it, its just bubbling under the surface. i particularly love the scene when jackson says "you cant kill bc youre just waiting for me to die so that you can live your immortal life with hayley, and you know that if you kill me she'll never forgive you" and when he confronts hayley about it and asks her "do you love him? tell me the truth just once" and all she can say "you knew, you knew when you married me" but she still loves jackson in a way, and still chooses him. and her relationship w elijah is messy and they fight and i love that scene when she gets super jealous of gia and elijah just asks her "what do you want from me?" bc he'll give her that, but also bc he cant deal w that.

and everybody knows!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! how they feel about each other the whole "he's under your skin" and "its obvious elijah you've fallen for her" and "perhaps you like, knowing you still have the power to break his heart"

and then jackson dies, and elijah does what he can to be there for her and doesnt push her at all!!!! i love how he sees her on a revenge path, and tells her to stop, that she shouldnt kill all those vampires. but he takes her list and kills them all for her!!!!!!!!!!!!!! because in his head hes completely doomed already, but shes not!!

but she pushes him away!!! the whole "i love you elijah, i have always loved you, and jackson knew that, and he died loving me despite it, so everytime i look at you its like im betraying him all over again, so i have to let you go." and he just says " that seems like the right thing to do, you know i tried that myself..... didnt work" but he respects her!!!!!!

and then!!!!!!!!!! lucien comes and all their lives are at risk and klaus!!! the reason why they didnt get together in the first place, tells her "its obvious that the person you share a true connection with is still alive, stop wasting your time" and she goes "ive pushed him away for so long klaus.... what if he doensnt..." "he does." !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and she makes that choice, to be with him, to not waste time

and then they all have to be locked away for god knows how long but elijah tells her "if it doesnt work out, you have to let us go, be happy, youve mourned enough" but she doesnt!!!!!!!!!!!!! and she chooses this family, her family, hope's family and she spends years fighting for a way to bring them back!!!!!!!!!!! and she does!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and the whole "elijah after all this time..." "me too" is insane!!!!!!!!!!!! and "when i wasnt with my daughter all i thought about was you" and "you dont have a mikaelson heart, theres just too much good in you.... its why i love you" "i love you too" is insane!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and then!!!!!!!!!! I guess part of the reason why i lost a lot of love for levi and snk in general is because what drew me to levi was how selfless he was (call me boring, i know.) the fact that he constantly carried the burden of fallen comrades, his innate compassion and desire to make life better for humans, his upbringing in the underground etc. when some ppl take that away and state “he was thinking only of erwins humanity…

No sincere ask annoys me. Bait doesn't annoy me either although I prefer to spend time on sincere asks. My baitdar has been a little off these days so I sometimes struggle determining what is sincere and what isn't. With this ask, it seems like bait, but I'm struggling to see what you hoped to accomplish with it. Did you think I'd agree?

The thing is, I don't know any actual eruris (or many fans of the series for that matter) who would agree with this sort of oversimplification of Levi's character when it comes to Erwin. Instead what you've done here is compile every straw man that I’ve seen on tumblr regarding eruris into a single ask, which is sort of fun to see.

A straw man is the term for when someone purposefully misrepresents another persons argument in order to make it easier to defeat. Here's an infographic (source) which sums it up perfectly:

There seem to be a cottage industry these days of blogs focusing on defeating such pretend arguments. Your ask sounds like you've been spending a lot of time on those.

The thing is nearly all eruris agree that Levi was selfless. They don't reduce him to a vow. They agree he cared about humanity. For two years we defended Levi against groups who reduced him to "must kill monke" and claimed he was only focused on vengeance. Now the conversation has flipped but we're still saying the same thing.

Do I think the promise kept Levi going? Yes. Do I think it was the only thing keeping him going? No. He's always fought for humanity.

Do I think Levi prioritized Erwin's humanity of the roof? Yes. Does this mean I think he didn't care about humanity? No. See above.

Do I think Erwin was Levi's most important person? 100% yes. Does this in any way diminish his feelings for any other character? Of course not. He obviously cared about Hange, Eren, the 104th and all of his fallen comrades. His compassion is the best thing about his character.

So anon, I don't know what to tell you. If you don't like Erwin, Eruri or even (*gasp*) Yumikuri, that's fine. No one is saying you have to. If the series makes you sad, self help would be to avoid it. Your ask didn't come off as hate, it just really had me scratching my head.

Mettaton’s Backstory:

This is part two of my ghost meta. I’d highly recommend reading part one first, which should be right below this post on my blog. It’s titled “Chara, The Fourth Blook Cousin” and it has the background for how I think ghost might work.

I mostly talked about Undertale ghosts in general and how they could explain Chara’s mysterious presence in the game, but now I want to talk about Mettaton, Maddy and Napstablook, and explain my thoughts on their backstories, why they’re different from other ghosts, how they became a family. Because I think about them literally nonstop

METTATON

He is the baby of the cousins (until Chara comes along)

Ghosts dont age (unless they become corporeal) and the cousins (again except Chara who’s like 12) are all basically in their twenties, but MTT is slightly younger than Maddy and Blooky

And also he was formed extremely recently compared to them

I’ll explain them in depth later but they've both got a few centuries and Mettaton is like,, 70

Literally even Chara was formed longer ago than he was, but Chara doesn’t get adopted by the Blook family for a few decades so he joins first

So Mettaton is in this infuriating state where he is old enough to be losing track of years and struggling to keep up with technology and memes

But at the same time he talks to his cousins and they're like “Infant. Baby Boy. Imagine keeping track of what decade it is, you're so small”

He ends up being the self-designated cousin in charge of keeping track of time and pop culture and whatnot out of spite

He’s like “I’ll never forget what's relavent, its not because i’m baby, its just because i am better than you”

Tiny recap from my previous post- I think ghosts are formed when monsters die while completely unsatisfied,

the ghosts have no memory of who they were and they don't have souls unless and until they become corporeal, but they get their personality and some habits from whoever they were

And mettaton starts out being completely obsessed with this

He wants to know who he was and what life mission he left unfinished

He’s like “its gotta be super important because the universe literally made me immortal so i could finish it”

But figuring it out is… hard

It can take ghosts years to form after someones death and theres just so many monsters its impossible to narrow it down

When he does research he makes a lot of friends with monsters who have recently lost loved ones and he actually gets really good at talking to them and listening to their stories and letting them vent

This is a huge part of the reason he never starts to fade or sink into depression like most ghosts do at first, because he has people to talk to who need him

But also while doing research, he realizes that there’s no one he can find who he WANTS to be?

He’s like “yeah these all seem like they were cool monsters when they were alive but none of them seem like me?”

He has little hints of who he was, he knows he hates being alone and needs people near him always, he knows he’s super curious about learning about other people and reading dramatic stories and listenifn to gossip,, and he is for some reason extremely curious about humans, he knows he loves the color pink and the concept of the stars,,, but like,,, none of those are a life mission,,, they're just little quirks

So anyway like a year in to becoming a ghost, he is being emo and crying about this in waterfall when Maddy finds him and is like “shut up, youre scaring the snails” and he’s like “fight me right now… OH MY GOSH ARE YOU HOLDING A SNAIL THATS THE CUTEST THING EVER”

Maddy and Blooky do not invite him to join their family, he literally adopts himself

He is like. Lovely. Pretty farm. I live here now. I am building a house. I work here now. You are both my cousins.

And they just accept it.

He doesn’t ever really introduce himself to them officially?

He’s still convinced he needs to know who he was, so he’s kind of terrified of having his own opinion on his name or gender or anything because what if he’s wrong?

They both try to ask him who is is or anything about him but he’s just like “Nope Nope Nope, you are not allowed to percieve me yet. Give me attention but do Not perceive”

But he is happy to talk about the snails and to listen about how to care for them

Also he wants to learn more about ghosts because most other ghosts are just little lumps of sadness and regret who dont rlly talk so he tries to like,,, just lay on the floor in blooky’s house and see if theyll tell him things,, or he’ll just bother them until they tell him things

Blooky is the one who introduces him to music, and its mostly by accident

Mettaton is like,, actually fascinated by Blooky’s love of music and is like,, “wait IS it fulfilling? Is THIS what you died to do? Is it your greater purpose? Does it make your life worth living and make everything right and the stars align as you realize who you were before??”

And Blooky is like “I like… drum… sticks go click click and it is nice…”

And Mettaton is like “fascinting.. tell me more.”

So thats how Mettaton gets music lessons from Blooky

He also encourages them to play their music for others and start a band

Which Blooky ends up loving so so much

They dont like talking to strangers but they love performing, its a completely different energy

and thats also how mettaton is introduced to performance

And he’s like “oh. Oh ho ho. This is pretty nifty”

So anyway he continues trying to figure out who he was but he’s also kept more busy and realizes that just. Doing stuff is good

He starts a bunch of clubs and activities and stuff because he adores meeting people and being in the center of attention

Until eventually he makes the human appreciation club and meets a certain lizard

And she REFUSES to talk about herself and Mettaton doesnt know what to do with himself because SOMEONE’s gotta be vulnerable

So it takes him all of two minutes to start gushing about how he’ll never know who he was meant to be and it sucks because how can he ever be himself or become corporeal if he doesnt know what he was supposed to do or look like or be

And alphys is like. “Oh. I could try designing something for you. What do you want to look like?”

And mettaton is like. “Wait. I am allowed to want? I thought i was just. Something. And i have to find it.”

And alphys is like… “listen i am not a ghost expert but i feel like if u could be anything, why not be? Do u want pink swooshy hair?”

And he’s like “oh my god yes please”

He doenst tell his cousins because it still feels illegal to him to just. Decide who he WANTS to be instead of being who he was meant to by the universe

Literally neither of them would care, both of them are so confused by his destiny obsession anyway but unfortunately he is stupid

And then he moves in with alphys while she makes his body and he is just so so happy and he gets to choose what kind of character he’s reborn as

And eventually ofc he does tell his family and they are like “you are stupid. I love you”

okay imma talk about bokuoi again bc… they give off the softest vibes for some reason.

contrary to popular believe, i could imagine their interactions to turn out quite calm , once they get over their initial over-enthusiasm and energy. They’d bathe in each others attention. i think no one else would placate their need for affection and attention they way they could.

 theres different sides to humans and oikawa seems quite calm and introverted at times. so does bokuto (although probably mostly when he’s not feeling well)

i think bokkuns straightforwardness and carefree way might put oikawa at ease. and also oikawa could have a calming effect on bo because he would give him all the praise he needs with a sort of sarcastic or teasing hue that flies over bokus head so they both completely enjoy the others company. i could imagine that bokuto would bring out  oikawas mum side, because suddenly theres someone more chaotic and loud than him so because you feel like someone has to take charge and be the responsible one when being in a group, being with someone very chaotic suddenly makes you the mum friend.

i think in a way bokuto would pick up more on oikawas feelings than he does with his team. and because they’re both so chaotic and kinda sensitive and open (I’m talking emo-mode and oikawa crying in front of everyone)  that they’d feel more prone to talk it out or feel free to be soft around each other because its obvious that they’re both soft, so why pretend.

personally I’m more oikawa oriented so i’m going to talk more about his perspective. i think bokuto would have a very refreshing effect on him because he can go mad with bokuto and finally have someone match his energy but on the other hand also having someone pushing you to be slightly more mature because the other person isn’t. 

im not saying oikawa isn’t a responsible person. he is seijohs captain and became a professional volley ball player. a lot of effort went into that. but i think being with iwa who seems more „mature and collected“ in certain areas, automatically allows oikawa to play baby in every day situations. i think that oikawa would always need iwa too, someone to ground him. ironically enough he also needs his squad especially with makki/mattsun because oikawa loves being teased whether he admits it or not. he likes being a clown and the pretty princess atst, but thats another topic. and well bokuto doenst have a single spiteful bone in his body so oikawa wouldn’t get ridiculed by him. So of course Bokuto wouldn’t be the only person he needs, obviously. but i think he would bring out different qualities of oikawa that he usually doesnt display. and at the same time enhance the qualities of oikawa that other people usually try to reduce.

♡ - how readily do other people accept/perceive your character’s proper gender?

gender shit ; im pretty sure i got every single ask sent to me

in dokkalfar society? pretty readily. as i said before, dokkalfar realize that the way someone presents doesnt correlate to their actual identity all the time. plus the unseelie court itself is pretty tight knit, everyone knows eachother, there would be no reason to not know what everyone's identity is, or at least their pronouns and preferred honorifics. and it would be hard to any other dokkalfar to make vali feel 'unaccepted' about his gender because like..."bro we literally have the same shit going on in our pants, theres literally no biological difference between us on a sex level.' it would be kinda pointless, theres no 'war of the sexes' like in human society. i would have to honestly think about it. how would transphobia manifest in a society where everyone is the same sex, gender identity is considered fluid and theres very little divide between people based on gender/sex, if transphobia would manifest at all? idk, some other trans people might need to chime in on that. i mean, im pretty okay with fae society being a trans paradise where transphobia is either rare or nonexistent because it makes little sense for a dokkalfar to be against vali for ....what? wearing dresses and having a beard at the same time? no dokkalfar would consider those things to clash, because neither dresses nor beards are considered exclusively the domain of women and men, respectively.

as for non-dokkalfar/non-fae, especially human society, i imagine there would be garnering a lot of confusion and attention drawn to vali because of his gender expression. and a lot of it would be not be positive. there are many times where people have approached vali from behind thinking hes a woman, and he turns around and it's obvious hes not a woman, but they cant be quite sure hes a man either, and so confusion ensues. he tends to enjoy confusing cis humans, as its a bit of harmless fun. it becomes not so harmless fun when humans start getting aggressive or disrespectful about the fact vali doesnt fit into their gender binary. he gets a lot of looks and stares for having 'clashing' secondary sex characteristics and mixing together masculine and feminine traits into his fashion, and generally just being the most gender nonconforming bitch in the grocery store. sometimes people will make backhanded comments,  invasive questions, but vali shuts that shit down real quick.

i like to imagine that a lot of fae strike the line between masculine and feminine beauty very well -- this doenst necessarily mean that dokkalfar are all 100 percent neutral, androgyous entities. vali is far from being neutral, but he, and other dokkalfar, still embody feminine and masculine traits. this tends to confuse humans too, because some people cant seem to understand that theres more to gender identity than 'male' 'female' and 'unisex/neutral'. so yeah, i imagine on beatha itself, the humans would be more accepting, maybe still a little confused, but maybe a bit less transphobic than earth humans, because beathan humans have been exposed to a lot more humanoid species that fall outside human sex and gender binary. while us here on earth seem to still be struggling with the concept of 'boy can wear pink and girl can wear blue?????!?!?!??? gasp!!!!!!!! whats next.....cows marrying horses???" because transgender gender expression has been stamped out for so long for various reasons.
