#but i'm pretty sure that's just people who hate tim in the first place being upset he's constantly dubbed 'the smart one'

on the subject of people pushing back on fanon so hard they go non-canon in the other direction I would like to log: I don't think there's any indication in the comics that Tim hated school, never cared about his grades, or that he would have wanted to drop out without extreme outside circumstances.
Like:
annoying canon: N52!Tim is a super genius; various comics with terrible writing and reductive characterization dub Tim "the smart Robin" (a subjective criteria with the bonus effect of unfairly denigrating all the other Robins; also not in line with his original/post-Crisis characterization)
pure fanon: Tim can be squarely categorized as a nerd (a huge exaggeration from the above, plus the canon of him having some nerdy interests)
backlash to fanon: actually Tim isn't a nerd at all, in fact he hates school and was thrilled to drop out; [insert Robin of your choice] is the real nerd
actual canon: As far as I remember, Tim never expressed particular excitement and enthusiasm about school nor particular dislike of it.
As a kid he had consistently good grades. In his early years as Robin, he tried to do everything at once, which resulted in his schoolwork suffering from his limited time and sleep as a vigilante, despite him not intentionally de-prioritizing it.
In his later years as Robin and then Red Robin, he was filled with survivor's guilt and unwarranted feelings of responsibility over Gotham, which made him struggle to justify spending time on anything that wasn't saving lives. The two times he dropped out of school were each directly caused by a father dying: the first time because he felt he needed to make Jack's death "mean something" by focusing in on his Robin work, and the second because he was determined to prove Bruce wasn't dead at all.
Had he never become Robin, there's every reason to believe he would have continued to do well in school, and could easily have carried on to higher education. Had he not suffered such an intense string of personal losses in a very short time, there's every reason to believe he would have at least finished high school and have been happy to do it.

Becoming (Batkid!Reader)
I actually felt like this week was pretty slow for some reason. How are you guys? I’d appreciate it if some of yall actually commented, feels like I'm not really writing for no one. Regardless if you do, I still have a love for writing so…Comment, ask me questions if you want? And please reblog! It helps me a lot! Enjoy!
*(Y/N) is gender neutral; race neutral.
SPECIAL NOTE: all of my child fics/daughter/son/sibling fics will be with an adopted reader and not a biological one. Biological would mean that half of these parents/couples would be mixed, so no I won’t be doing biological. Especially when it comes to predominantly white characters.
pairing(s): Bruce Wayne/Batman x Child!Reader
warning(s): mentions of suicide, details of adolescent murder, disposal of bodies, dark themes and disturbing situations, cursing; read at your own risk!!!

Four months had passed since Damian asked if you wanted to be trained. Since then, your limbs seemed to be more flexible and more smooth with your movements.
You even managed to grow some muscle and tone out your arms some. Then again, Damian ensured when you guys first started that he wouldn’t go easy on you.
Sure enough, the family began to notice the changes as well. Damian would have to hide his smirk of approval whenever someone complimented. It was dinner night with the whole family—which means Dick and Jason came over since they didn’t live at the manor.
Tim sat down next to you and squeezed your arm. You stilled, putting the fork down. Jason looked over and raised a brow. “So…is no one gonna say anything?” Giggling, you stared at Tim who let go.
Impressed, he asked you, “Have you been working out or something? I don’t think I've ever seen a 10 year old have such toned arms.”
You looked over at Damian, who poked at his potatoes. The rest of the family waited for you to speak, even Bruce was interested. He noticed the change in your physique as well, but figured it had been because you had a functioning diet compared to the orphanage.
You scratched at your cheek, “Well…I have been taking an exercise class at school. Guess it’s paid off.” You saw Damian roll his eyes. You looked over at Bruce. “R-Remember when I told you I’d be joining a club.”
Bruce smiled, “That’s right, the weightlifting club was it? What kind of exercise are they making you do? They aren’t too straining I hope?”
“No they aren’t too bad! I promise!”
Dick was about to respond when Alfred came back, an envelope in hand. He walked up to the table, “I do hate to bother, but Mx. (Y/N) there is a letter addressed to you.” Alfred placed it on the kitchen counter.
You were just as confused as everyone else right now. Shrugging, you looked at the butler. “I’ll look at it later. Thanks Alfred.” Dinner continued on.
Long after, you were now sitting on one of the sofas in the main living rooms. Ripping the envelope, you heard Jason ask, “What’s it say, Runt?” You stifled a laugh. It was a nickname he’d given you after sizing you up.
One day, while you finished training with Damian, Jason scooped you up and held you out in front of him.
You blinked at the feeling of hands grabbing underneath your armpits and lifting you up. Going stiff, you had no idea what to do. You don’t recall ever being carried like this (besides Batman, who did a better job than whoever the culprit was).
Turning around, Jason was looking you up and down like people do at the grocery stores with fruit.
“Man,” he mumbled, “You’re so small. Almost like a runt…” Wiggling, Jason saw the lack of comfort and let you go. He placed a straight hand on your head and traced it over to his navel.
You looked at him before walking towards him until you were squished to him.
“You’re just tall.” you muffled out. Jason laughed, pulling you away by the shoulders. He raised a brow at you. “Like I said. Runt.”
Ever since that incident, the name stuck. Jason stopped calling you (Y/N) and settled for ‘Runt’. Hey, it was better than Demon Spawn. Cue Damian’s eye roll—
Throwing the envelope to the side, inside was a taped letter. You faced Bruce, who eventually came into the scene. He rested his arms behind the sofa. He peered down at the paper and looked surprised.
“The orphanage?” This caught the boy's attention. They all settled down on different spots, waiting. You began reading silently. With each word, you felt your heart stop and shook.
Tears welling up—you didn't notice until you saw droplets fall onto the paper—and feeling Bruce rest his hand onto your shoulder, you looked up at him with a blank stare.
“Cassie...”
Bruce grew fearful as you shrugged him off harshly and ran to the door. What was going on? He snapped himself out of it and yelled for you. “(Y/N)!” Luckily, Dick was near the door and managed to catch up to you.
The oldest son felt his knees scrape against the cobblestone of the manor as his arms wrapped around your body. He held you against him as your sobs grew louder and stronger.
Meanwhile everyone followed outside, worried over what caused the child to react in such a way. Bruce felt unsettled at the sight before him.
Dick was trying to ask (Y/N) whereas they seemed to not hear them. Their sobs overpowering any other noise and voice. The brothers followed suit in an attempt to comfort their newest sibling.
Damian was the only one standing next to Bruce now. All-be-it concerned as well, he held out the paper to his father, having read it already. He looked pitiful.
“Read its contents, Father.” He took the paper from his son’s hand and began to examine it:
Dear (Y/N),
With deep sadness we want to inform you that one of our children, Cassandra Vazquez, passed away on XX/XX/XXXX. A funeral will be held to commemorate her life and cherished memories. May her soul rest in peace.
As we know, you seemed to be close friends with her, thus we would like to invite you to remember her and say a final goodbye.
Funeral will be held at Gotham’s Main Memoriam on Oak Nut Road at 1:00PM
Our Main Number: XXX-XXX-XXXX
Sincerely,
G.C. Homes for Children.
Oh no. Looking up at his child who was still sobbing into Dick’s shoulder, he saw the tears continuing to stream down (Y/N)’s face. Looking hopelessly, they blinked up towards their adoptive father.
Bruce clenched his jaw as he tried his hardest not to rip the paper in his grip. He had the phone number memorized, he’d call later for more details on the situation.
-
You sat next to Bruce and Tanika at the funeral. There were about 13 people in total.
Recognizing some familiar faces, you saw Andre, Markus, Erica, hell even Tonya was there.
The whole thing lasted about an hour. While everyone left, you remained with Bruce. Tanika guided you to the burial, squeezing your hand in comfort. She seemed to be taking Cassie’s death as equally bad as you, if not more.
Makes sense, she’d known the girl way longer than you.
Taking one more look over the grave, a hand landed on your shoulder. Looking up, it was Bruce. “How’re you feeling?” he asked softly. It’s not the first time he’s been in a situation like this.
Staying silent, you gave a measly shrug, “Numb.” There was no real way to describe everything you were feeling at the moment. Cassie died, and you haven’t been told why or how.
Not a single staff at the orphanage bothered to explain anything, they just expressed how sympathetic they felt. Someone had to know something. They had to.
Which is why Tanika was currently dragging you to the restroom, leaving a confused Bruce. You were about to question what was going on before she said aloud, “I was hoping you could come with me to the restroom, (Y/N).”
Bruce grabbed the woman before she could leave with you. His instincts kicked in as he looked at the woman suspiciously.
Tanika looked at Bruce and raised a brow. “I’m just taking her to the restroom.” But for some reason he still felt worried. Looking at your direction, Bruce asked if you were certain or ‘ok’.
You looked at him, surprised. He seemed to be…concerned? You weren’t complaining, but he’d never acted protective over you up until now.
Maybe he felt like it was his responsibility, after seeing what happened with Cassie. But why would he—
Then it clicked. Cassie had died in the hands of the orphanage.
Bruce had been informed instead of you. Someone knew something, and it was him. Why hadn’t he said anything? Was he waiting for you to figure it out?
Holding the rush of emotions about to leave your lips, you nodded and dragged Tamika towards the ceremony hall. Once you made it to the bathrooms, you heard her sigh in relief. Letting go of her hand, you crossed your arms.
Tanika had changed so much.
You remember her having blond, curly locks. Now it was all buzzed off and black. She used to wear clear-blue glasses. Now she had these contacts that changed her usual green eyes to a dark brown. She also seemed to have gotten a tan as her face had some evident freckles now.
She looked over at you before heading towards the sink. She gulped, “Looks like it’s a one-person bathroom. I’ll—”
“Tell me why you brought me here.”
“What do you mean? I need—”
“I know I'm only 10, but that doesn’t mean I'm stupid, Tanika. You brought me here for a reason. Please…” Walking close, you gave her a soft look, “You know something. What happened?”
Tanika looked at the bathroom before locking it. She sighed, she hoped no one saw the two of you go in.
“When Cassie died…” she choked back her sob with a gulp, “I found her body in the courtyard. She looked like she was sleeping, but when I went over to wake her up…she was already gone. I screamed and cried for the staff to help. Anyone, anything. The only one who seemed to hear me was Markus…”
You remember Markus.
He had been around a couple times at the orphanage when you were still there. He was a nice, young man in his mid 20s. Markus would come every weekend with his nail polish set and offer to paint any child who wanted their nails done.
He would always paint his red because he said it was his favorite color. You remember how he painted yours yellow one time.
He also had a crush on Tamika, who denied liking him back every time you asked.
Letting out a shaky breath, Tamika continued, “He came out of nowhere and called an ambulance while heading inside to bring help. While I was holding Cassie, I saw a water bottle at the end of her feet. It looked like a water bottle, she must’ve drank from it. But something was off…”
“Like what?” you asked quietly, fearing someone would hear.
She closed her eyes before answering, “Water bottles are supposed to be clear. Hers was a bit red, and there were hints of powder inside it.” Oh god, you covered your mouth in horror.
Could Cassie have possibly tried to…no. In those months you had gotten to know your friend, she would never let herself get to that point.
Looking up at the woman, you asked the question, “You don't think she…” but Tamika shook her head.
“Not even close…when I checked for a pulse on her neck, there were scratch marks and bruises. Almost as if someone was trying to…strangle her.” You tried to cover up your sob, but failed. Tamika brought you in for a hug.
She did her best to attempt to calm you before adding, “There were some red specks on her. I thought it was blood at first, but it had this weird consistency. I picked it up, and gathered several pieces for the police. But they had no idea what it could be. They figured it was pieces of her jacket that must’ve shed off…”
Your head was now resting on the woman’s shoulder. “Do you think it was that?” you asked, feeling her hair rub against your own. She shook her head ‘no’.
“It had this weird, gel-like, gooey texture. I don’t think fleece would feel like that. Especially on a jacket.”
You stiffened at the mention of the gooey-like feel. Eyes blank, you felt your hands clench into her jacket.
After a few minutes, the both of you headed out. Seeing Bruce not far away, you waved goodbye to Tanika and ran towards your adoptive father. He looked you over before guiding you outside. Tanika rubbed her face before walking away, looking abashed.
-
Heading back home, you ignored Bruce’s attempts to comfort you, only responding with a simple ‘yes’ and ‘no’. The man grew worried. He decided not to hover over you as he made way inside the house, you following not too far behind.
The boys were waiting in the living room. Dick was the first one to get up and wrap you into a hug. Jason sat up, crossing his arms and checking you over. Tim followed his oldest brother and kneeled beside you, a hand on your shoulder. Damian sat still.
“Oh (Y/N)…” Dick began as he felt your head fall onto his shoulder. He held you closer as you decided to snuggle further into him. Tim’s hand left your shoulder and looked back at the other two. “What should we do…” Of course he rolled his eyes when they both shrugged at him.
“You guys don’t have to do anything…” pulling away from Dick, you gave him a small smile. Although it didn’t look too convincing, you hoped it would at least give you a chance to escape. “I’m alright now. Feel a lot better than a week ago…”
You turned to Bruce, who seemed to be observing the scene before him, and gestured up the stairs. “I think I wanna be alone in my room. Just for a bit…is that ok?” you asked.
The man nodded, “Of course. Remember, this is your house too, (Y/N). You don’t have to ask me.” He gave a pat to your head, awaiting your next move.
Everyone was shocked when you turned to the youngest Robin. “Damian.” The boy stiffened at his name. He stood up from his spot and faced you.
“What?”
A small ‘ow’ escaped him as Tim hit his arm, glaring at the boy to not act so straight-forward. Damian was about to yell at him before you stopped any further altercation with a question. “Can you come upstairs with me, quickly? I just wanna talk to you a little bit.”
Jason raised a brow at you, now heading upstairs with Damian not far behind.
Once reaching your room, you pushed Damian inside. He was about to retort, but you threw a pamphlet—you received it during the funeral—at his chest. Damian looked it over. It highlighted Cassie’s achievements and life. Glaring at the floor, you looked at the boy with a stoic face.
“You need to train me…”
Huh? Damian was confused as you focused on nothing in particular, walking around your room. He had already been training you extensively.
You had already managed to bring him down in fights, were quick with your dodges—a little reckless with your punches—and overall ready to be considered a skilled fighter in his eyes.
“I don’t follow.” he answered. Stopping, you looked over at him, vendetta written across your features. “I need you to train me…specifically on how to kill someone.”
Ok now that caught his attention. “Why?” he asked. You decided to explain everything. Damian sat there and took in every word.
He might’ve left the League of Assassins long ago, but that didn’t mean the skills he acquired there did.
Once finished, he stood up and shrugged, “You sure it was him?” you glared.
“Who the fuck else would it be?”
Damian scoffed and rolled his eyes before scowling back at you, “So you’re not even sure if it was actually him? We’ve already covered that you’re not an imbecile, so don’t start acting like one now.”
“Well what am I supposed to do?! If you’re not gonna help me then I'll just do this thing myself.”
“I never said I didn’t want to help, but being impatient will help no one. Trust me when I say you need to learn how to control yourself, emotions and actions.”
He looked earnestly, “You’ll never find a solution if you don't see the problem.”
“What problem?”
Damian groaned, rubbing a hand over his face before scorning. “Don’t you see? You wanna assassinate someone before even knowing it was actually him!”
“I know it was him!”
“How?”
“Because Tanika told me what she found! She saw Markus being alone with Cassie when she found her dead!”
Damian sighed, rubbing at his chin before grabbing the pamphlet. Looking it over, he showed you the pamphlet while pointing at one of the pictures, “Who’s this?” You observed and gave a sad look.
It was a picture of Cassie at the park with you and Tamika; you had gotten in trouble earlier and they both wanted to cheer you up. Tamika took the picture with her phone.
“That’s me with Cassie. The older woman was one of the staff working at the orphanage.” You chuckled, grabbing the pamphlet from him. “You know what’s funny, she doesn’t even look like this anymore.”
“She got a new look?” Damian asked.
“Completely. I almost didn’t recognize her when I saw her again. Don’t know why she changed completely.”
It was silent for a few seconds before you apologized to Damian. He waited for you to continue.
“Look, I know I'm sounding impatient…but I really do think it’s Markus who killed Cassie. Everything Tamika told me is leading to him. Why would he randomly appear out of nowhere the exact moment Tamika found Cassie’s body.”
“...you do have a point, but we still need to make sure. You know where they live.”
You shook your head, “No, but I do know he still works at the orphanage.”
Damian nodded before stepping aside, “Alright…we’ll head out tomorrow and check it out. I have patrol with Father today.” He headed towards the door.
Looking back at you, he warned, “I could get in serious trouble for this. I mean really deep trouble; so you better hope you're right about your instincts.”
Before he headed out he also told you, “I’m not wearing my Robin suit for it either, we’ll have to wear some disguises.”
“Wait, why?” you asked. Damian rolled his eyes, scoffing. Imbecile.
“Do you want to get caught trespassing on residential property?”
Oh. You shook your head. Damian didn’t say anything further as he closed the door behind him.
-
The next day came by fast and soon it was already nighttime. Twelve to be exact.
Bruce and Tim had already left while Dick and Jason decided to stay the night, hoping you’d feel better with the extra company. Poor things were fast asleep on the couch, a movie playing in the background.
Meanwhile you and Damian were upstairs already changing. Combining an all black outfit, you settled for a black beanie on your head when Damian ordered you to cover completely.
Facing the mirror, you scowled. Damian was in your room putting on some black shoes.
“I look like a robber.”
“Tch, that’s the point, idiot.”
Soon the two of you headed out the window, successfully avoiding the cameras in the yard and headed towards the garage. Damian slowly headed inside after opening it and told you to stay put. He later came out with a motorcycle.
“Who’s bike is that—”
“Todds,” Damian answered before getting on it, “Get on, before he wakes up and sees us.”
“If you don’t want him to catch us then why did you grab his?!”
“Because the other one’s are in the Batcave and this moron decided to leave it here instead! Now if you don’t want to get caught then get on the bike and stop talking!”
Groaning, you sat behind him and wrapped your arms around his midsection. Damian turned on the motor-vehicle as quiet as he could and sped out of the driveway.
Arriving at the orphanage, you saw it was closed. All the lights were off. The coast seemed clear. Turning to Damian, you pulled out a crooked, bent wire. He didn’t seem to understand your insinuation until you gestured to the main doors.
“I used to have my fair-share of sneaking out during my time here.”
“Why?”
“It got boring sometimes.” you said with a shrug. Damian groaned in annoyance before throwing you a scowl. “Well?”
“What?” you asked.
“Open the door!”
You jammed the wire inside the locks and wiggled it a few times. After three minutes, you managed to hear a beautiful ‘click’ noise and the door opened up. You went inside, Damian following behind.
Everyone seemed to be asleep, except for the door unhinged with the bright light blasting through. Upon closer inspection you heard wet noises followed by lips smacking and moans. Someone was making out; gross.
Slowly hiding in a corner, you peeked around. Your jaw hit the floor.
Markus and Tanika were fucking swapping spit.
You were about to leave when you heard them pull away from each other. Markus cupped the woman's face; she looked remorseful. At the mention of Cassie, you felt your heart stop.
“I got rid of the girl for ya. Now we can be together like you said; you can give me what I want.” Markus told her. Tanika looked unsure and scared. She shoved the man off her.
“You really think I’m gonna be with you after what you did?! I-I didn’t think you’d actually do it. Cassie was just a child and you—” she choked when Markus grabbed her by the throat.
Squeezing harder he said, “You fuckin’ asked me too. You said you wanted to get rid of her so you can leave with the money her parents donated to the foundation. I get 40 percent, remember?”
“But I didn't mean to k-kill her! Just have her disappear, you monster! Cassie’s gone and it’s all your fault!! What good does this money even mean now?!” she shouted as she pulled an envelope out.
It was loaded with cash. Tears fell down Tanika’s face as she dropped to her knees and covered her face.
Markus was not entertained, “You fuckin’ asked me. I made a plan for you and me to run away. Now you're feeling upset? If they figure out it was me, I'm a goner and I'm taking you down with me, bitch!”
She screamed as they began to fight one another. You didn’t notice when you pulled a knife out and ran at both of them.
There was no other way to describe how you felt about Tanika other than betrayal. You felt the same way you felt at Cassie’s funeral.
Numb.
-
You didn’t even notice Damian had pulled you away from the bloody mess you created.
The boy grunted as he managed to hall you off the two obvious corpses, struggling to rip the knife from your arms. He needed to get rid of as much evidence as possible.
Turning you around, he grabbed your cheeks at an attempt to snap you out of your haze.
“(Y/N) come on!” Shaking you, he finally managed to bring you back. You looked blankly disappointed at Damian. You looked sick, “She lied…she was a part of it all along. She lied…Because of her, Cassie is dead…”
“Yeah…yeah I heard everything…Let’s get you cleaned up,” He pulled out a rag and cleaned you up as best as he could. The blood stains on your clothes were soon dry while Damian managed to dispose of the bodies in a bag.
He’d have to burn them along with your clothes. For now all that was left was to clean the floor. Finding a closet, he was able to find some mops.
Handing you one, he sprayed the floor with a cleaning material before beginning to wipe. “Let’s clean this mess up before someone finds us.”
Thank god the orphanage didn’t settle on cameras.
It took roughly one hour to leave the place spotless. Damian drove you back home, the trash bags in the back. You wanted to ask him how he managed to fit both the bodies in a single bag.
He didn’t answer, except by saying he was going to destroy any possible evidence. Once you arrived at the manor, he dropped you off.
“Clean your face off first and then shower. Got it? Make sure you throw those clothes away too.”
So now here you are, taking a shower after sneaking back inside through your window. Scrubbing hard, you let the red come off your body, but it did nothing to help how you were still feeling right now. You were clean, so why did you feel so dirty still?
Maybe because the one person you believed loved Cassie ended up actually having her killed.
And now you got your vengeance. Cassie was justified, but now what? She was still dead, and she wasn’t coming back. Did she even know her life ended at the hands of Tamika’s orders?
You groaned, rubbing your face of any extra debris. You felt frustrated. The fact you managed to murder not one, but two people didn’t cross your mind.
Or maybe it did, but you just didn’t care at this point.
Looking down at your feet, you wondered. What now? Can you feel peace? How could you, knowing that your situation probably happened to more than just you. Was Gotham this bad?
Of course it was, when you were on the streets, you had seen your fair share of horrors on the streets. Some of them you didn’t wanna think about again, but maybe it was unnoticed to you.
Or maybe you were ignorant to just how bad it could get in this city. Had to be…you chilled at the thought of the civilians being able to live on like this.
Do these people just live on in fear? Do they go on with their lives knowing there's a killer out here every week? Or that villains like The Joker are out tormenting.
What about the villains who aren’t even known? Do they just get away with stealing and committing even worse knowing there will never be any real justice?
...Is this why Batman existed?
You stayed in the shower a couple more hours. Dick and Jason were still fast asleep in the living room, unsuspecting. Damian had come back to check on you. He was surprised you were still awake. He sat on the bed, you had a question.
“Yes?” he waited.
“I wanna help protect Gotham…”
The boy stayed silent for a few moments. Calming himself, he held back before he could oppose, asking you, “Why?”
You explained how you had an epiphany in the shower. Damian took in every word and rubbed at his temples, trying to figure out what to do. A few minutes passed before he nodded. “Alright.”
And so began your journey.

(look you don't have to like this, I'm not expecting anyone to, I just needed to write and if there's the possibility that even one person was hoping I'd write more and enjoys it then that's cool, just don't be a dick about it, it's more house mate au stuff, don't hope for continuity by that I mean it's just all over the place and nothing makes sense , just expect what ever came to my head at the time lol)
Walter was sat at his work table, fiddling with one of his new devices working on to perfect it, no I can't think of anything specific so I'll let you fill in that with your imagination.
The day had been long, his lab assistant Timothy Lawrence (Yea that Timothy if you know him because reasons) had been pretty quiet but done as told so at least that made it easier.
He was tired as the day had gone on his mood had sunk, what was he doing teasing Killian like that, honestly spanking him with the hair brush, he knew some of the things Killian had been up to.
But it was more likely a sign of marking territory or just because he had needs right and it was exciting to do things where you shouldn't.
The blade he was handling slipped and ran across the pad of his index finger, he hissed in pain, seeing the blood smear under the blue latex, pooling to drip, focusing on the red colour he hadn't even noticed Timothy running to fetch the first aid kit.
Pulling his gloves off he discarded them and popped open the box that had been set on the table.
"Thanks Timmy."
Walter smiled a little as he tended to his finger, he hated how the skin felt parting every time he flexed his finger.
Cleaning up and applying what was needed, thankful it wouldn't need stitches.
He wondered what Killian was up to, watching TV, reading maybe, did he eat, did he have enough to drink, was he in a depressive mood, was he mad that hed spanked him, he really should send a message.
Pulling his phone from his lab pocket he texted him.
'Hope you're day has been good, hope you're well, sorry if I upset you this morning.'
He shifted and rubbed a shoulder, he didn't realise how stiff his back had gone, being in charge of a division meant he'd somewhat lost track of self care making sure to do his stretches.
Timothy stood here watching his boss, lot better than the last one, this one was kind and genuine, always looking out for people, honestly Beckett made him feel safe and relaxed, he wasn't looking for anything serious but even he could see that furrowed bow and the lean that spelt hey I'm exhausted let me die.
Walking around and behind him he slowly massaged his shoulders, they were small and rather petite for someone Walter's age but it was more lean muscle and just body build, he just hadn't seen many men like Walter where he'd come from, he was rather pretty.
Walter had considered telling him to stop but when his fingers pressed into that one perfect spot in his shoulder blades he melted, ooooh that just felt so damn good and shit when was the last time he'd had contact, had someone be closer to him...he liked Killian...wondered if they could be more, but he didn't believe for one second that they could be lovers or bed fellows for one moment...not that he wouldn't be interested in finding out but Killian had been there a month, like he wasn't going to make him uncomfortable and feel like that the only way he could stay was if he dated him.
(I keep forgetting times or how many days set shrugs just don't expect like decent continuity, I write these because I need to just write things and moments)
Walter leaned forward arms folded and face buried in them
"Sorry sir, am I doing that badly?"
Timothy's enquired nervously, his hands going still.
"No, please don't stop, I literally didn't realise how stiff I was, you have good hands, I'm just so tired Timothy, I could really use it if you don't mind that is."
"Not at all sir."
Tim smiled happy to know he was helping, yes much nicer than his last boss, Walter was smart but he was also fragile, like him he loved his mother and when he'd heard Walters mother had died when he was small he wanted to scoop him up and just hug him.
A talk with Lance at one point and he'd learned that was a natural reaction for anyone with a heart around Walter who didn't have their head up their ass.
Which had practically been the last tech department Beckett had worked in, that totally wasn't cool that they'd done that to such a brilliant mind, it was so much fun working on items that didn't kill people and actually helped them!
Walter was imagining the fingers loosening the knots in his back were Killian, wondered what that would feel like with those pretty metal claws, but he never forgot it was Timothy, after all Timothy deserved more respect than that.
Looking over his shoulder at him, auburn hair flopping off to one side, Tim's hands on his waist he noticed the subtle blush.
"You wanna go grab some dinner or something in a minute there's a corner café I know, makes steak sandwiches and baked potatoes with a perfect crispy skin, a warm meal sounds pretty nice don't you think?"
Tim in the angle he was in was trying not to think about how suggestive this looked, he would absolutely lean down and kiss Walter if he thought it was an option, it really was a casual thing he felt, but Walter just looked so pretty and like he needed someone to carry him right now.
Continuing to rub his back Timothy nodded
"Yeah that sounds pretty nice actually."
---
At home Killian had found plenty to do, he'd read, watched tv, all in Walters bed of course, just to feel close to him as he could, he did wonder after handling himself, if Walter could see him as anything more than a friend, someone more than a few passing jokes between the other...turning his head and taking in his scent as he buried his face into a pillow again, looking forward to seeing those blue eyes...he should really get out of Walter's bed and get the covers washed.
Beckett brought comfort to his mind after his years of suffering, the sunrise after the storm.
He'd talked to Lovey, wondering if she could understand him, she was surprisingly responsive to his rambling as he worked on his arm, updating the tech and keeping up with maintenence.
Living here with Walter and slowly working past things with Lance and seeing he had genuinely started changes of his own, it made it easier with how Walter talked about him on the job, that he considered all options before violence and discussed the situations with him...it was good to know Beckett had helped Lance to.
He was glad to know Walter's field partner was a good one, though his lab partner, this Timothy Lawrence seemed to be pretty chummy didn't he, he'd seen a picture, thick brown hair, heterochromia eyes, blue and green to be exact and a chiseled jaw, in other words a damn pretty boy and he didn't want him around Walter.
He huffed folding his arms, yes he was jealous he was going to be pouty, before his injury he had thick black hair and had been known to be a very handsome man, now he looked like he'd been put through a grinder when he took off his holo mask and this Timothy Lawrence just had to be Walter's lab partner, he'd be around him alot and-
His phone buzzed, it'd been put on the side table and he read the text that'd come through and there was another one.
'Going out to dinner with Timothy, don't know what time I'll be back, have fun you probably need a break from me anyway lol 😂'
Killian's eye twitched, he nearly threw the damn phone, but how would he explain that, honestly he couldn't, Tristan sighed, shoulders drooping a little and answered his questions
'It's been a relaxing day, did work on the arm, Lovey' s surprisingly easy to talk to, watched a little television but perhaps you could suggest something to watch, it's rather hard deciding with all these options and no Walter you didn't upset me, though you left in a hurry, you do not need to avoid me. You're not a bother. Are you alright?'
'I'm so happy you're warming up to her! That's awesome! Also it's good you have time to relax, ten years of hectic stress you're more than overdue! I...well I was more embarrassed than anything, I reacted on instinct, last boyfriend liked that well that's probably more than you needed to know, but yeah I'll help you pick something to watch see you later!'
Last boyfriend? Spanking, Walter had, he had...Killian shifted well the blankets were starting to tent, the idea of being put over Walters petite lap and being told he was a very bad man came to mind.
He liked it.
A lot.
He looked at his phone as it pinged again.
'And god damn it, make sure you eat something for dinner, don't just go picking out the cupboard!'
Killian snickered and replied
'Yes Daddy, I'll make sure to eat something.'
After sending the text he realised what he'd written and wished he could take back that text, wincing as he managed to look at the response
'Behave, eat dinner or I'll put you over my knee young man.'
Killian stared and stared at that answer, he knew Walter was just teasing but, his cheeks were warm and he was...was he blushing.
----
"You all set to go Timothy?"
Walter smiled, his back was feeling a hundred times better after Timothy had dug into the knots, it wasn't a surprise that he was good with his hands, you had to have nimble ones to work with the tech they used here.
"Yeah, just coming boss!"
He pulled his satchel over his shoulder after pulling on his old brown leather jacket
"Please Timothy don't call me that, call me daddy."
Walter laughed at how silly that sounded
"I'm sorry, pfffft don't call me that god please, no, Walter's just fine."
Tim had paused a moment a slight fear he might have a streak like his last boss after all but that laugh was too warm and giggly and just shook his head with a smile
"Wouldn't dream of it Walter, you're more of a kitten anyway."
Timmy felt his insides tighten a little and there was that hint of Jack Dna surfacing.
"So shall we go?"
Beckett enquired looking up at him, huh he kinda looked like Killian, just a little.
"Ready when you are."
And with that they were off.
(Alright end of this ramble, Timothy has been thrown in because I needed the gasp drama of prolongation and shit and didn't have the energy to create an oc and honestly I'll mash anything from anywhere if it's convenient bleh)

(Commentary and thoughts on the problem with certain anti tags and frankly anti tags in general, be warned)
I'm going to be honest, there is nothing that infuriates me more than those who attack a ship, or a character as abusive for the reason of banter, poor writing verging on character assassination or astonishing reasons as one character being created to be a beard for the other.
To give an example, the TimSteph ship has attracted a lot of hate recently because apparently one of the two is abusive towards the other (mostly Steph).
Tumblr media
Now, I'm not against preferring another ship to that one, such as StephCass or TimKon, or feeling that Steph has basically had a lot of her agency taken away recently, reducing her to just Tim's girlfriend and that causing people to distance themselves from the relationship, those are all fair enough reasons to not really like the ship. Even feeling like there is no chemistry is a reason, that I disagree with, but can respect.
What I can't respect are some of the reasons given for hating the ship.
To give an example, one tumblr outright stated that part of the reason (though not all of it) they hated Steph was because she was created by a homophobe (Chuck Dixon who IS conservative at the very least) to serve as beard for Tim.
Ignoring for a second that Tim is explicity sexually attracted to women (though considering the run that made that clearest was FabNic's version of Red Robin, I can understand not knowing about it), Steph was originally created to be a one-off character, it was fan popularity that caused her to return AND become a love interest for Tim. Even ignoring that, Tim was dating another girl named Arriana, which didn't work out for various reasons, the least of which was his constant absences to perform his duties as Robin.
Speaking of FabNic, it was his run as writer for Robin that is most often brought up when giving reasons to hate Steph and call her abusive. A run that was basically a rush job, when Dixon left DC again for unrelated reasons, where FabNic proceeded to write Steph hire Scarab of all people to fight Tim non-lethally after promising Batman to make him better. I'm going to be honest, I hated the idea of this to begin with, but someone pointed out how stupidly out of character Steph hiring Scarab was given that A) she would definitely not have the contacts to pull it off, and B) Scarab was the entire reason Steph got fired as Robin, resulting in a lot of trauma for her and I have to agree.
Combined with Steph being portrayed as unusually incompetent and her motivations being glossed over and it really reads like either A) FabNic had a vendetta against her character, meaning her character was hurt again almost immediately after being finally getting a break and having her incredibly spiteful death retconned or B) he was in such a rush due to being brought in to write the final arc of Robin in a hurry when Dixon left, that he didn't think his ideas through, and just wanted to get rid of Tim's supporting cast quickly and finish things up for the next writer to have a clean slate, causing him to write that mess of an arc.
To anyone unfamiliar with FabNic's work, the exact same thing happened in Red Robin when the Nu52 was about to happen, so he ended up butchering an entire arc he had planned, Tim's character suffering from an abrupt shift in coldness again when he was getting better and left the series on a frankly unsatisfying cliffhanger. So, I can completely see that as being what happened.
Now as for those who say that Steph's banter with Tim is cruel and abusive. This is something he canonically said very shortly before their relationship started.
Tumblr media
So Tim definitely gave as good as he got.
Though this is nothing to what he once said to his first girlfriend, Arianna.
Tumblr media
Not that I believe for a second Tim is actually sexist, but his banter can be unusually and unintentionally aggressive at times.
Now I'm not going to say a word about most of Yost's Red Robin run, but what helps is that Tim is not being portrayed as being in the right with many of his actions and gets called out as such, plus he was written pretty clearly to be in a mentally bad place.
Otherwise I and probably a lot of Tim's fans, hate the Batman jr. Character arc every writer (but Dixon ironically) seemed to have fixated on him having, making him become positively humourless for quite a while (especially in Teen Titans, but to be honest there are many fans of the YJ team who hated that run.) Which basically started with Steph and his dad's deaths by the way.
I'm not going to deny Tim and Steph had their fair share of drama before War Games, most notably the power imbalance caused by Tim knowing Steph's name, but being unable (yes, unable) to give her his. Tim had a reason for not telling Steph, Bruce making him promise not to, and he kept that promise even with the YJ team, and even made it clear that Steph couldn't know if they entered a relationship. That's all fair enough, even if Tim had a nasty habit of reminding Steph he knew her name while they were out in the open, putting her identity at risk and knew she hated it.
The stalking was caused when Tim implied he personally knew a girl they rescued, causing Steph to realise just how unbalanced their relationship was, since Tim could be cheating on her without her knowing due to the double life (and had in fact done so to his previous girlfriend Arianna, with Steph).
Which lets be honest, is also completely understandable as their relationship couldn't work long-term without it being equal knowledgewise.
Think about it, you're in a relationship with someone who refuses to tell you his real name, you may be able to recognise him without his mask on, but have no idea he goes to the same school as you since he makes sure to avoid you while simultaneously keeping an eye on you.
Tim himself realised this, since when Batman leaked his secret without his permission, he eventually made it clear he didn't blame Steph and that he should have been open with her when it began to trouble her.
As for Steph coming on to him when he had a girlfriend and wasn't interested, well this is what caused her to crush on him...
Tumblr media
He had just been traumatised by being trapped underground with Cluemaster (brrr.) So kissing her in relief when he had a girlfriend was understandable, but it's also understandable that Steph thought he was interested in her especially since he never mentioned a girlfriend.
Amd Tim clearly cared for her in some way regardless judging from this page when Steph was kidnapped a few issues later.
Tumblr media
As for Steph only being in love with Robin... the problem is that Steph made it clear once that she didn't care if Tim quit and she'd love him all the same.
Tumblr media
So, no, I don't think Tim and Steph was an abusive ship, it might not be your cup of tea, but it's certainly not abusive, especially when written by a writer who isn't being rushed or got a lot on his plate.
As a side-note, it's worth noting that due to how the Tumblr Search Engine works, people not looking for Anti Tags, and instead quite the opposite, still end up finding them on occassion, so yes, they have a right to be annoyed and complain in private conversations.
I'm sorry if this devolved into a rant, but many anti threads have a nasty habit of focusing only on the bad, even when that bad isn't consistent characterisation. Whether we like the Character or not, we need to remember that having so many writers means that the Character will be screwed up occasionally. How many times has Batman learn not to be a jerk only to return to be a jerk almost immediately? How many times has Green Arrow gotten his act together only for another writer to have him return to cheating on Black Canary again?
We have to concede that any character can be screwed up by the wrong writer and we shouldn't hold that against them, especially when the stuff we don't like doesn't consistently happen.

Hey guys,
Yu, Rai and both Jakes.
Actually..If I talk about my feelings I'm pretty well. Don't tell Jake I said that, but I couldn't be happier about our situation. I mean, we can talk again. Without me being kidnapped and finding a weird Tumblr profile of him. (Which we think was a set up by one of the entities of my world since he obviously doesn't have one. Jake thinks it was goldies doing, I on the other hand don't believe that. Don't ask me why, but it feels like goldie wouldn't do that. And it didn't help me either but only made problems. I was distracted because I was writing the profile (you read it, right Yu? I don't know about the others) and angry. Like, really angry.)
Putting that aside, Jake called me, like he promised :) And it was the longest phone call I had for some time. Most of the time I talked and he didn't get distracted once, just listened to me and everything that happened. And then he started cursing, which is kind of understandable. He apologised for being into stasis. And for this other version from before the 'time setting back' thing. Because I don't find a name I'll call it TSB from now on.
The only problem I have now is going to work, I guess I'll take me some vacation...But at least I'm not as scared of the raven-ass anymore. I mean, I still am, but in the moment I know his steps. And I am not alone.
Jake, I intentionally write the next part in red, please don't read it. That's for Yu.
I know you think that Jake sees you as a threat. If it still is like you wrote in the letter. Jake knows that, too and he doesn't like it. You know him better than I do, of course, but without saying too much...I think it's quite the opposite. Talk to him about that. Even though it's probably not the best circumstances I think he enjoys being with you :)
The next part, purple (damn, I need more coloured pens), is for you Jake.
You already told me that you don't like that Yu thinks you see her as a threat. I only have to say one thing, if it still is like that, talk to her about it. Earlier than later.
The new thoughts about the blood ritual are really interesting. But please don't put yourself in this danger (or not, but I think it's understandable what I mean?) if it isn't necessary. But I also agree with Rai, I thought the same thing for a while. That you desired having someone, Jake, with you. It sounds plausible.
What more was there...Wait, let me reread the letters.
Oh yeah, Rai! One, till now my crow crew seems to still be in stasis (Jake realised that now, too) and two..Please try to take care of your health, yeah? I'm worried for you.
Lis🐾🔥
Ps. Damn...I'm writing this exactly when I wanted to leave the house (I mean, I sadly cannot hide my face forever).
Two new things...I got a message. I mean, it was a threat (because I am the obviously the bad girl that kidnapped Hannah), but I don't care. Maybe that means the stasis is slowly dissolving!
But number 2...I didn't get the vacation. My boss called me almost immediatly. "Under no circumstances [a word is blacked out] Liska. We have July and Alice, Tim and Jenny all want to take free time, too. You are one of our best workers and we can't afford you leaving now. You have no children so you have to wait. Also Max told me that you don't have any problems in family."
So long story short: He wants me to be there tomorrow. Argh, if he would pay me like he's talking that would awesome. And I'll kill Max when I see him next time. (My cousin that thought it was fun to try and steal my work so we both got the rank of 'one of the best workers'. The only problem: Max' title is official. -.- Overall, I'm so much more annoyed than some time earlier. Maybe I should ask Jake for help
Lis,
Okay, the Crow Crew drama is fading a bit, so I'll answer this now. Sorry if I seem disjointed at all, I'm probably going to be going back and forth from conversations to this letter a lot. I can't afford to have them all think I'm compromised, I need to focus on getting out of here and I don't want to deal with their pressure on top of everything else.
Yeah, I don't think the Tumblr profile was Goldie either. Goldie seems to try to be very much a "hands off" sort of entity, like my own. The Tumblr profile thing seems a little out of character for at least my Jake. At least, publicly answering your submission certainly was, though he may have panicked since you sent it in on anon and answered publicly without really thinking about it. I guess I could see him having a Tumblr profile for purposes of following people on social media and watching what they post, though. And then deciding he likes the media and posting a little bit of impersonal things that can't lead back to him. Probably my Jake will say something about that when I hand this letter over to him, stay tuned.
Yeah, I at least read some of the things you sent that profile, and I showed what I had to my Jake too. I'm not sure if I read all of it, since it was a bunch of printed-out screenshots in an envelope, but I read the ask where you told him you hated him (fair at that point but ouch that's got to have hurt) up to when you said you'd found Hannah. After that you sent me your letter telling me time had turned back and the Tumblr screenshots ended.
I'm glad you and Jake managed to talk things out. I was sort of worried about how he'd react, but it sounds like he took it pretty well, considering. I'm... not exactly sure he should be apologizing for the stasis, though. Or the TSB!Jake. Maybe especially not the TSB!Jake. Jakes seem to be oddly different from timeline to timeline, just based on what I've seen of them. TSB has been one of the most different so far.
Oh. One thing I should mention that you might not have seen from the profile: The MWAF used your phone to mock the TSB account, and mentioned that TSB wasn't the only person who could hack, and the MWAF blocked TSB from finding your location. Might want to warn your Jake about that.
A vacation sounds like a good idea :/ It's really hard to go back to normal life right after tragedies or trauma. It feels like the world keeps moving on and you're still stuck in place, and you just want to scream at them that they need to slow down, can't they see that the world is
Good. I'm glad you don't feel alone. It's easier to deal with this stuff when you're with someone else, even if it's not physically.
(Jake, my Jake I mean, if you're reading over my parts of these letters skip to the ||| now please.) I'm not saying he doesn't also enjoy my company. I can tell he does. That doesn't make me not a threat. Like how early on I suspected Thomas, but still thought he was a nice guy and enjoyed talking to him. (Obviously I don't suspect him any more XD ) Still, if you think I should talk with him about it, I'll try to find a tactful way to bring it up.
Yes, because obviously tact is my greatest strength. Sigh.
Like I said to Rai, the underlying desire thing is definitely possible. That'd either mean I'm more obvious about how I feel for Jake than I think I am (very possible, I'm not great at hiding how I feel in person) or the entity has some level of telepathy/mind reading. The reason is that chessboard. Since Jake likes chess, it's clear at least to me the entity expected him to come here at some point. I THINK, if the underlying desire thing is true, I can manipulate myself into wanting specific things by doing things like writing it over and over and repeating it out loud when doing the ritual, but I'm not sure.
|||
It's probably good that your Crow Crew is in stasis, like how it's objectively probably good my outside life is going on without me. Less drama, less pressure.
Huh. The harassment is definitely a promising sign. Maybe you should try contacting Darkness again, same way as I suggested near the beginning? That feels so long ago, but it really can't have been much more than a week, can it?
You... didn't get the vacation. Fucking hell. Is there ANY way you can convince your boss? You really should have time off. Maybe your Jake can help you come up with ideas.
Or at least maybe he can come up with a way to have your boss give you a bonus for your trouble -_-
Oh shit Cleo's interrogating me I'm gonna hand this to Jake now
(The handwriting changes to Jake's.) Hello, Lis.
I agree with Yuvon: "TSB" acts markedly different from myself. There would be no benefit from me promising to be there to find you in the moment, and indeed I would have been falling for a very transparent trap. Even in my possible state of panic, I cannot see myself being there physically, much less revealing myself physically to authorities in the process, unless I was playing the role of bait in a counter-trap. While it is plausible that this was TSB's plan, TSB gave no indication that Yuvon or I could tell that this was the case. Of course, I would have done my best to be there physically in the aftermath of the kidnapping, but not in the moment.
I also agree that the Tumblr profile seems to be out of character for both myself and for "Goldie", though I hesitate to judge TSB's actions by what I myself would do. I seem to vary in surprising ways across universes and even from timeline to timeline, based solely on your current Jake's reactions thus far. I do actually own a Tumblr profile for the exclusive purpose of following social medias I wish to track, but I used a random username generator website for the username and not my own name, and I certainly never posted anything.
The news about the MWAF being able to hack is new to me; I must have missed that the first time I read through the screenshots. That is quite troubling. I suppose I will need to be more careful in future.
I am sincerely sorry your request for a vacation was rejected. I do not know how much you intend to separate your personal life and the Duskwood case, but if your stasis is truly wavering, you may be able to reveal some measure of the danger you are in to convince him to let you flee the area for a small while. Especially since you mentioned in your Tumblr post that you saw a raven note in your wor
Oh.
You need to leave that place. Now. Do not inform your employer of the danger you are in, reveal nothing to him or to anyone, take unpaid time off if you need to. Get your cousin and anyone else you care overly much about out of there too. Invalidate any information you can your employer or coworkers knows about you. Do not tell the truth to anyone, even your cousin. Make up any excuses you need to, ask your Jake for help with ideas if you need to. You may also wish to check that the coworkers your boss listed who are going on vacation are ACTUALLY going on vacation.
This is a priority, Liska. You need to tell your Jake all of this too, especially the part with the note in your workplace. You need to get out of there.
Good luck.
—Jake & Yuvon

The only thing that a lot of fans need to remember is that it was the 90s of "Sequels sell" I'm pretty sure Tim was aiming for a instant green light for a sequel and, unfortunately, didnt pan out. That's when he went to cartoons instead to get the beetlejuice story out. P much even if you dont like the movie, ya gotta at least respect it as the beginning. I appreciate the anti-gatekeeping, btw. The movie was a product of it's time and had Tim's darker sense of humor, which isnt for everyone. 💦
Ohh Anon, I’m going to use your post to go into some more word-vomiting about the sequels (under a cut, for everyone’s well being). First though, I think it would be great for people to respect that the musical and cartoon were born from the original film - but honestly, as long as everyone respects each other and their individual preferences, that’s what I think is important. The movie is NOT for everyone and if someone doesn’t like it, that’s totally fine. But oh man the sequels. Anyone who has spoken to me 1x1 knows that I am VERY passionate about this subject lmao. I’m going to start this off by saying I was NOT a fan of Beetlejuice Goes Hawaiian (for a number of reasons I will expand on) and I was surprisingly smitten with Beetlejuice In Love. There have been a TON of other script writers throughout the years - I just don’t think Tim Burton can nail one down. More under cut! (RIP long post and sequel script spoilers ahead).
I’m going to start with Beetlejuice Goes Hawaiian. This is arguably the most well known sequel script, and I think it’s because of how absolutely bonkers it is. The plot starts off fine (I guess) with Charles Deetz building a resort in Hawaii. It really just goes down hill from there. Everyone seemed out of character, the plot didn’t make a whole lot of sense, and I thought the writing was mediocre at best (It was written by Jonathan Gems, same guy who wrote Mars Attacks, not a favorite of mine). There were a couple of amusing scenarios, but BJ and Lydia turning into mermaids did it in for me. Gems’ really just didn’t seem to have a grasp on the characters, and so when I’m coming up with head canons or trying to get more insight into the characters and netherworld, I DON’T reference this script. Honestly? I don’t even think Tim Burton liked this version of the script. It was written based off his idea of Beetlejuice being in Hawaii, but based on how quickly he turned to another writer, I don’t think it hit the mark for him. (BJ in Love was written by Skaaren on 7/10/90, and Jonathan Gems was asked to write BJ Goes Hawaiian later that same year. Then, Burton asked Daniel Waters to write a script in early 1991. Gems’ script was only around for a few months before Burton moved on to something else.) Happy to send this one along to anyone who wants to read it.  Moving on to Beetlejuice in Love, which was created before Beetlejuice Goes Hawaiian. This script was written by Warren Skaaren, who played a HUGE role in re-writing the script for the first film. Skaaren, Burton, and Keaton are really the people responsible for the version of Beetlejuice we got in the movie. Skaaren was very passionate about the characters and story and started on a sequel script shortly after the success of the first one. Based on the title I thought I was going to hate this script, but I actually enjoyed it (my bar was set pretty low, to be fair). Skaaren had worked so closely with everyone on the first movie that his characterization of Beetlejuice is ON POINT. I could practically hear Micheal Keaton rattle off the lines when reading it. In this story, the only character’s we’re familiar with are Beetlejuice and Juno, everyone else is brand new. The majority of the script takes place in the netherworld and I appreciate the deeper look we’re given - I would have loved to see how they’d pull off that set in the 90′s. I was really into the first half of the script, but it does start to lose it’s footing near the end. It’s just way too similar to how they ended the first movie. Unfortunately, Skaaren wasn’t able to take this script further than the first draft, as he passed away from cancer 5 months after writing it. I firmly think we would have gotten a second Beetlejuice movie if Skaaren hadn’t passed away. There was a lot of potential in this script. Since Skaaren’s first script in 1990, Burton/WB have approached 6 writers. Seth Grahame-Smith, writer of Pride and Prejudie and Zombies, seemed to make the most progress. In 2015 he said that everyone (Burton, Keaton, and Ryder) were on board and that they’d be shooting the Beetlejuice 2 movie at the end of 2015.  For whatever reason, Burton didn’t move forward with it, and I haven’t been able to find a copy of that script (It’s killing me). The most recent writer hired was Mike Vukadinovich in 2017, but, as of 2019, WB said they had shelved the sequel. I don’t know if we’ll ever get a second movie, and I honestly can’t picture anyone but Keaton playing the character (though I have been presented with some compelling actor suggestions). I hope my obvious obsession well researched history was interesting - always happy to discuss/debate this topic! If I wrote something that’s not accurate, please let me know.

A81 Theories: The Green Lady
I've seen some confusion around Green for a while, and have been spouting these thoughts about as long, but never actually made a post, so, here goes! The Green Lady, or just Green, is a Leviathan (she says it herself), Leviathans being loose embodiments of ideas/stories/concepts. The next question being what exactly is she?
Tumblr media
Evidence! This is from the original script for Episode 20. Though the final version of the episode doesn't include this bit, it's pretty self-explanatory. The other time we we see "nature sounds" is in E16, with the vines.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So she's tied to nature, plants and/or The Wall Garden. During the bit with the vines, she also advises Dan that Clara and Lou must "go into green", and, calls herself Green, so the vines may be a part of her. This would also explain how she broke into Dan's broadcast so easily, and how she knew it'd get them out; she's already right there, and is creating a path out.
Her end goal, outside of wanting to mess with LMG for some reason (I'll get back to this) is wanting to get out of The City. The vines and forest lead Clara and Lou to the market, and by extention The Contest, theoretically the most straight-forward way to open a path out. The Chain Forests/Wall Garden was also described by TOC Tim (or Traveller Tim by that point I guess) as very dangerous, but Clara and Lou have no issues once they are in it. If they were wanted there, this would be fairly easy to explain.
The trees in the forest being chained, and her apparent low power may be related. The City also changes general appearance depending on whichever Leviathan is "winning" in the local area, and currently that part looks, of course, like a city. Not sure who's winning, although The Curator and Messenger are both big players (I suspect The Curator). If nature, it's entirely possible she used to be the winning entity in the area (especially since The City and Earth are shadows/reflections of each other), OR if a smaller Leviathan, she may have been trying to win out for a while, and either way is attempting to escape into the "Real World" to establish a stronger power.
So, on LMG, and the theory I'm least confident in. First up, we know Green HATES LMG. She comes to Dan initially in the hopes he can sabotage the expedition, and wanting him to kill Clara and Lou, until they outwardly express a dislike of the company. She also advises Dan to cut off Suit's fingers very early on, meaning she has an interest in freeing her from LMG, either to keep Middle Management out, or, Caroline being of The Cult, Green wants her to Cause Problems.
Anyway, so the Visser Building was hosting Visser (aka. The Choir). Vining Towers (The Gargoyle building) was LMG's attempt to recreate this; it even "ate" people, and had an unknowable number of gargoyles (weird features). So, what was it hosting? Maybe Green, which would explain why the vines are there in the first place, and of course the name, "Vining Towers". Perhaps something went wrong, and she's bitter at them for the ruined deal. She may be determined to get back to Earth because she's been there before. But again, less confident in this one.
And lastly, this one's not a theory but something cool @anissapierce pointed out, The Green Lady is a common character in a lot of fairy stories and myths, which plays into S2's often-noted fairy-lore vibe.

I'm not sure if you got my request because i didn't had internet when i sent it, so i'll write it again xd Do you think Dick (and the batboys in general) are famouse like Bruce? Because in the comics there's not any clue about it, i've never seen anyone say something like "oh look! Its Dick Grayson!, y'know, Wayne's first ward/son And its a shame, because reporters would make such a hard life to all of them, it would maka a good narrative tool
Honestly, this is a prime example of that inconsistency I rant about, and also DC’s refusal to just COMMIT on even the most basic aspects of their universe like….uh…how many kids does Batman have.
afhsahfklahsklfhal
Like, you would think that would meet the MINIMUM requirements of “shit you should probably have figured out and make sure everybody’s on the same page with” but DC’s like….nah, that’s not important.
So I mean…..I’m reasonably certain - like this is just my personal belief, but I’d put money on it being right, lol - but I think the primary reason there’s so little mention in the comics of how Bruce’s kids are viewed in the public eye/how much the public are aware of them (in the New 52, at least, as pre-Flashpoint there was a lot more plot around that kind of thing, especially back in the 80s and 90s)……
…is because 90% of the writers and editors have no clue either, and nobody wants to be the one to ask, and like, open that can of worms. I 100% think you could ask five different writers at DC which kids Bruce has OFFICIALLY adopted in this current continuity, and get five different answers, lol.
There’s been so much handwaving about Dick’s status ever since Spyral, and again - I think its because nobody bothered to think through the logistics of the Hypnos/global-mindwipe machine BEFORE writing it into the story, and then once it did occur to any of them to like….wonder just how specifically it worked, they were like, fuck it, better just be as vague as possible. So, according to Grayson, everyone Helena didn’t program into the exclusion list before the satellite was activated should have no recollection of Dick Grayson, which is why he was able to ‘go back to his old life’ and be Nightwing again, without worrying about his secret identity having been unmasked…..
But what does that mean for his official identity as adopted son or even just ward of billionaire Bruce Wayne? People can’t have NO memory of Dick Grayson and still remember that Bruce Wayne took in a kid named Dick Grayson. I mean, as far as I can tell, the overall consensus in the comics seems to be that after the satellite was activated, Dick just kinda started from scratch as ‘Dick Grayson’ like, he was free to be himself again, but it was like he was a blank slate/came out of nowhere as far as everyone else was concerned. But again, that means as far as anyone outside of their close circle of family and friends know….Dick Grayson is a non-entity to Bruce Wayne and the two have no history.
Which I mean, is fairly shitty and you’d think if nothing else, there’d be massive story potential there for delving into Dick’s character and his relationship with Bruce and examining how he felt about ‘having his old life/identity back’….except with the caveat that as far as the world is concerned, his life and identity don’t and have never included his father.
Cut to DC: Naaaaaaaah.
But even WITH that, plot holes persist, and abound, because…..why didn’t the satellite erase the Court of Owls’ knowledge/memory of Dick? Even before Luthor gave Cobb those goggles and files to help him with bringing Ric into the fold, Cobb clearly was already stalking Ric and knew exactly who he was….the Court obviously already had that doctor in place while he was still in recovery…so, whoops. I mean, you could probably come up with an explanation about the Court, via their own tech and resources, having had some protections in place 24/7 that kept the satellite from affecting them even though they weren’t on guard for it specifically…..but again, Occam’s Razor….I feel like the real answer is DC just didn’t care enough to think things that far through. Especially since the average Bludhaven citizen, like Bea, at least didn’t seem totally blown away when Ric revealed to her that amnesia aside, he was supposedly some rich billionaire’s adopted kid….which again suggests that as far as the writers were thinking, people in general are familiar with the idea that Bruce Wayne has more than one kid.
Then you’ve got Jason’s whole situation, and to be honest….I really only have the vaguest idea what’s going on there, because reading Lobdell books is against my religion, and I am a devout and deeply spiritual person, as you all probably can tell. I mean, I know that there’s something going on where like, Jason had himself legally resurrected in the public eye and is openly referring to himself as Bruce Wayne’s formerly-assumed dead foster kid……but like, is that the official official word, or would other writers if you asked them say they’d been operating under the assumption Bruce had adopted Jason too at some point in the Rebirth timeline, or….idek, man.
I…..honestly don’t have the faintest fucking clue what to make of the many back-and-forth retcons about Tim and his parents and his official place in the Batfam/relationship with Bruce, and am actually slightly terrified of even trying to make sense of that clusterfuck of a Gordian knot, so my official stance on Tim is to just like….back sloooooowly away from the anthropomorphic-migraine-masquerading-as-a-backstory, without like….agitating it and accidentally setting off another multiverse Crisis birthed wholly from just that one all-consuming black hole of a retcon.
I mean, there’s a reason I basically just shoehorn all the kids’ official pre-Flashpoint family statuses into anything I write in Rebirth continuity, and that’s not just stubbornness and my refusal to play the “now this kid is adopted…now he’s not…now he is again….except he’s not….oh he’s adopted again…..oh wait now he’s not again" game.
Its like. Also for the sake of my sanity and stuff.
(And also hahahahaha fuck you DC times infinity, every time you use the words “blood son,” or “real family” in a comic, or have one of Bruce’s other kids refer to Bruce as “your father” when talking to Damian, as if that’s not an utterly bizarre and roundabout way for any sibling to refer to their mutual parent and thus I j’ete REFUSE to acknowledge it as valid….ahem, anyway, my point is, every time they do that in a comic, I double down and headcanon Bruce throwing a random as fuck gala for literally no other purpose than to remind all of Gotham that he has half a dozen kids and they’re all better than everyone else’s. Ugh. Kill it. Kill the “blood son” nonsense with fire and lightning and also lots of stabbing maybe).
Anyway, that’s my official stance on DC’s stance on Damian in the books.
Then as far as Cass goes….ugh, her origins were pretty much utterly butchered by the New 52, which IMO has also failed to give us Cass and Bruce bonding and dynamics sufficient to Sate Mine Ire™, sooooooo…..I mean, my perception of the current canon is that Cassandra’s official status is “secret mystery foster child that nobody really knows about,” but because I do not care for that and there’s the whole not sufficiently sated ire thing I mentioned, I officially reject this canon and willfully replace it with pre-Flashpoint Bruce and Cass love and adoption. DC’s welcome to kiss my critically acclaimed hiney if I’m doing it wrong.
Which brings us last, but certainly not least, as its only this way because I go sequentially and Duke is still Shiny and New comparative to the others and will be until the next inevitable fostering/adoption/clone hi-jinks bumps him up the sequential ladder (except I randomly switched Damian and Cass around this time because LOOK I DONT MAKE THE RULES, THERE ARE NO RULES i hvea Adhd hiccup sob leavem e aloooone soooooob)…..
Duke’s official status, much like the rest of the Batkids, can be summed up as Honestly, I Really Don’t Have A Fucking Clue And Am Just Winging This Whole Thing.
I mean, there’s less inconsistency with him, due mostly to the fact that so few writers other than Snyder use him (boo, hiss, and not just because I hate having to give Snyder credit for stuff - look, I love his Duke, but I loathe how he writes Dami, its a thing, I just…don’t get me started). But what inconsistencies there are….well….they’re a bit glaring.
Basically one major storyline showed Duke as being an official foster kid/ward of Bruce’s and living out of the Manor with Bruce and Damian and occasionally Tim when he’s not off road-tripping around the multiverse….and then Batman and the Signal had Duke in the care of his uncle, who was stated to be his legal guardian and Duke was constantly sneaking out in order to meet Bruce in the special Signal-cave he built specifically for Duke to operate out of so he didn’t have to like, drive all the way out to the Manor to change just so he could then drive back into the city and patrol. And then Batman and the Outsiders just said fuck all that, here’s Duke and Cass hopping hemispheres with the Outsiders every other issue, so apparently nobody’s making unscheduled visits anywhere back in Gotham to make sure these two are where they’re legally assumed to be, which again, for the record is…..*error, source not found*
LOLOL and the really fun thing about this little back and forth is I’m pretty sure allllll these conflicting takes are all the work of the same writer. Like. GET ON YOUR OWN PAGE, DUDE.
Also, again I have to assume the “Can’t Be Bothered To Give A Shit, Or Maybe They’re All Just Really Bad At Logic” curse has struck again, because….uhhhh…..
….at no point anywhere in Duke’s stories have I seen Bruce or literally anyone else express concern about the fact that Duke living with Bruce as his official foster, like he definitely and clearly was at some point at least…..means that literally every single one of his We Are Robin friends who knows that he was taken in by the Batfam (and there’s several of them who know this)….like, by the transcendent properties of You Can’t Honestly Think They’re That Dumb, that’s a good five or six civilians out there who probably took all of five seconds to play connect the dots and figure out the Wayne family, having officially taken Duke in on paper…..is pretty likely the Batfamily.
I mean, I like all of Duke’s friends and would definitely headcanon/write them as all being trustworthy and able to keep this knowledge to themselves for Duke’s sake, if nothing else, but I mean, its pretty unprecedented for Bruce to out himself and all of his kids/allies by extension, to like, that many civilian teenagers all in one swoop….
…sooooooo, you’d think, AGAIN, logically, maybe, perhaps, this is the kind of thing that should be brought up in a narrative somewhere as a plot point worth delving into, y’know, just for shits and giggles and maybe a little bit of that whatchamacallit - oh right, character development, but.
Cut to DC: Naaaaaaah.
*throws up hands and does the I Can’t Even Shuffle all the way home*
In conclusion:
DC is a mess. The official/public status of each and every Batkid is a mess. Except for Damian, the blood son, but we have that pencilled in on the schedule to be killed with fire and also stabbing, so he can get filed under ‘just a fucking mess’ with the rest of his siblings. Hashtag Solidarity.
I mean, I say just write or headcanon their official status however you damn well please, and it’ll STILL be more effort than I believe DC has put into organizing and staying consistent with all of this, and thus STILL make more sense than what we currently have to work with.
*Shrugs* If they don’t care enough to provide a clear canon blueprint to follow when mapping the Bat Family Tree, I can’t be bothered to care if the one I make up myself happens to contradict one single mention of one kid’s official status as claimed by one issue of one book.
Especially if it was written by Lobdell.
Jason’s just a foster son my ass. grumble mumble bitter vengeful swears and a pox on all DC’s houses. WHY DO YOU PEOPLE HATE ADOPTION SO MUCH, INQUIRING MINDS WANT TO KNOW AND ALSO FUCK YOU.

JayTim Week 2018
Day 2: Friends/Enemies to Lovers // Supernatural AU Chapter 1 - Chapter 2 - Chapter 3
Tim Drake was a better detective than he was as a Robin. He was small, lithe; not as agile as the original Robin, Dick Grayson, or as massive and strong as the second Robin, Jason Todd. His investigative and deductive skills, however, is often said to be second only to the Batman.
Him finding where Jason has been staying would not have been counted as a surprise for those who know him. Like Dick Grayson, like Bruce Wayne, Bruce's butler, Aflred Pennyworth. Like his Titans teammates.
Like Jason Todd.
"What do you want." Jason's voice rang out even before Tim stepped in through the window.
"I should've asked you that. You've been sending me things." Tim replied, carefully walking in to the small apartment, unsurprisingly located at the Skid Row area of the Tenderloin district. Tourists avoided the area like the plague, having heard of tales and lores of the unsavoryness that is the Tenderloin District.
For Jason Todd - as well as Tim Drake - the city being San Francisco, not Gotham, even the worst part of the district looked like Gotham's standard parts. Jason would have felt right at home here, Tim thought idly, before remembering his own apartment that used to be the Theatre at Crime Alley where Bruce's parents were murdered.
The Red Hood's helmet was staring at him from a bedside table right next to the four-poster bed. The apartment itself was a loft and not overly large, and there was only a partition that would separate the bedroom from the living room. But it has a functioning oven, apparently. And Jason was baking something in it right there and then.
"I'm testing recipes." Jason deadpanned.
"What's in it." Tim retorted. "Why me."
Jason shrugged and turned back toward the oven. "You're here, and you have friends who could devour them, so nothing would be gone to waste." Jason reasoned.
"There are lots of people around here who could eat them, anyway."
Jason scowled at him. "And have them confuse French pastry with Persian pastry?"
"What Persian-- wait. No. That's not the point. I want to know why you're... feeding me."
Jason scowled at him, again. Tim started to wonder if it was his default expression setting or if the Lazarus Pit had warped his face from the grinning, happy Jason Todd of the past to this perpetually scowling-or-frowning expression.
"You have friends." Jason repeated. "I'm not just feeding you. And they're hella healthier than the junks you people have been feeding on."
"You've tried to kill us."
Jason gave him a withering look. "No I didn't. Just you." he corrected.
Tim rolled his eyes. "You've tried to kill me." he elaborated. "And now you're... what the hell are you doing, Jason?"
Jason just lifted an incredibly delicious smelling Shepherd's Pie out of the oven. "Dinner." he said. "Mine. You want?"
In spite of only recently finishing a large piece of chocolate cake that Tim hoped has not vanished to the abyss that is Bart Allen's belly by now, Tim's stomach rumbled loudly and unabashedly - and unsolicited-ly. Jason put the pie on the table and cut it to six equal pieces.
"Six?"
"Two for each." Jason said.
Tim had to look around, in spite having checked and recon-ed the entire block three times before he got in. "There are only two of us."
Jason just glared at him and handed him a spoon. "Your pick. I'll eat first." he said. And then louder, "last person here don't get to pick!"
Sure enough, a blue-black clad body practically slithered from the vents. "No fair. What if you put glass bits in where I'm gonna bite?"
"I'd have them as visible garnishes if I'd wanted to kill you, Grayson." Jason groused. Dick pointedly ignored him and took a plate and handed it to Tim. "I'll start billing you louse tomorrow." Jason added.
Tim placed a large one-sixth of the pie on the plate, and handed it to Dick, who promptly forked a large mouthful. "No poison. But if I die in the next hour, I want you to avenge me, Timothy." he said in all seriousness after swallowing the pie.
Tim blinked as he placed a second piece - picked randomly, and handed it to Jason. And another one for him. He was a third ongoing when Dick - already halfway through his piece - commented, "Tim actually hated Shepherd's pie."
Jason groaned. "And you didn't tell me this before, why?"
Dick grinned impishly. "I want to see how you'll change his mind to come to love this wonder of this English cuisine."
Tim was still shoveling the pie into his mouth quietly, savoring each and every piece of mystery meat in it. Jason caught his eyes and asked, "converted, yet?"
"Considering it." Tim replied without thinking. "The sorbet was a hit, though. Especially with the girls." he added, then shook his head and refocused. "Seriously! What. You planning to make a bakery or something, maybe? Supplementing your ill-gotten income with a more..." he looked at his plate and was quite surprised to see it kind of only have a few forkfuls remaining, "...sweet-and-savory flavored?"
Jason gave him a dirty look. "Gee, nice to know you have such nice thoughts about my income. I suggest you get off your high horse once in a while, though. Even the almighty Oracle's 'income' aren't all squeaky clean." he pointed out. "The sorbet was good?"
Dick, Tim realized, was already on his second slice of the pie, and was watching the banter with such mock-interested expression that made Tim wanted to slam the pie dish onto his face.
"It was. But that's still not answering my question. Why are you sending me and my friends food?" Tim persisted. Because if anything, persistence is his middle name: Red 'Persistent' Robin. "You've tried to kill me. And now you're wine-ing and dine-ing me. Metaphorically. Except for the 'dine-ing' part. Why."
Jason winced. "Growing pains?" he offered lamely.
Tim did not groan. Even at Dick's snicker. "You mean my pains?"
Jason was still wincing as if the pie was coming out of his sitting end in the form of jagged rock. Tim internally grimaced at his own vicious and petty thought.
"Okay," Jason said, pausing. Glared at Dick, who gave him a hand signal of encouragement. Glared at Tim. "You want seconds?"
"Probably in a minute. You were saying? --that's pertinent to my question?"
Jason sighed dejectedly. "You're persistent." he finally said after a few dozen heartbeats.
"I didn't get this job by being pretty, contrary to popular beliefs. And I will slam the pie dish to your face if you snicker again, Grayson!" Dick was visibly trying to wipe the smirk off his face, Tim could handle that, he thought. Kind of. At least Jason agreed on the face-slamming idea.
Jason's answer, he was not sure about. "I think you're pretty. But also pretty good with this..." Jason made a repetitive circle over the pie that Tim took as his generalized gesture that meant 'everything or something', "...job."
"Of course." Tim retorted, watching the second slice of the pie landed on his plate, and realizing that Jason's fork suddenly came too near to his jugular to his liking. "I'm still here, aren't I?"
"He's got a point," Dick agreed.
Jason punched Dick's shoulder. "Well I didn't leave by choice, did I?"
A little pang of hurt stabbed at Tim's heart. "I didn't, either... technically." he said, his voice suddenly soft as he avoided Dick's eyes.
"Oooh, no, no, no, no. I've said my apologies. And you two aren't going to make this about me now." Dick suddenly protested. "Back to the matter at hand," he prodded Tim, momentarily dazed and lifting an eyebrow to complete his bitchface. But it was Jason who spoke next.
"Okay. Yeah. I'm not good with it. So I'll just..." he grimaced. Twenty heartbeats later, he muttered under his breath. "I'm sorry."
Tim blinked. If he had blinked earlier, he might have missed Jason's lips moving. He was also certain that he hadn't heard the words as much as he'd read Jason's lips.
"You..." he croaked, and then cleared his throat before continuing, "baked me stuff to apologize."
Jason was clearly blushing. "Yes. No. Well, kind of. I baked because I'm not good with words. Dessert, anyone? I've only got wine as sweets."
"I'm eighteen." Tim replied automatically, because he'd had this part of the conversation with Jason before. He'd had this part of the conversation multiple times with Jason before in the past few years, to be exact.
"You're legal in Australia."
"We're not in Australia."
"We can pretend. I won't tell if you won't." Jason continued.
"Bake. Words. Why. We're not done here." Tim pressed his lips for emphasis. And opened them again to allow his last forkful of pie in.
"I said it already! I'm sorry!" Jason huffed, picking up his and Dick's empty plates. Tim automatically followed with the empty pie dish and his own plate. Jason dumped both plate into the sink, and said, "Just put 'em there." and went to get some soda and bottled water from his fridge. And Tim just watched him after he finished placing the dishes into the sink. "Soda or water?"
"Whatever won't kill me." Tim replied. Jason handed him the water bottle.
"Less sugar. Won't kill you." Jason said. Tim observed the bottle for signs of tampering, found none, and chugged down the water rather gratefully.
He also figured that if he were to die now, at least he was wearing clean underwear.
Besides, Dick took the soda. Tim was always sure that Dick would defy all expectations and actually die of diabetes at a very old age.
Tim shook his head again and tried to focus. But his belly felt healthily full for the first time in-- well, since he'd stopped residing at the Wayne Manor.
"I need to go on home, now." Dick announced. "You two derps promise not to kill and/or maim each other, yeah?"
Jason sighed out loud. Tim just shrugged. Hey, he's not the killer around here.
Still, their nonconformity seemed to satisfy Dick. "Okay," he said. "Thanks for dinner, Jay. Superb pie I'm sure Alfred would be proud of." Jason just smirked as Dick climbed out the ventilation shaft he had came in from.
"He parked the Titans' invisible jet on the roof." Jason explained.
"I didn't see or hear him comin'." Tim admitted, gingerly took a seat next to Jason on the couch as Jason started channel surfing.
"He's Grayson, whaddya expect." Jason remarked. "Anything in particular you wanna see? Other than counting my freckles, maybe?"
Yes, Tim was still gawking at Jason. His brain was still trying to compute the 'I'm sorry', delicious shepherds pie and other baked goods, and 'less sugar, won't kill you'. And Jason. And the fact that all of the above came from Jason.
"Does this mean the baked goods will be a thing?" he wanted to know and promptly smacked his head internally. No, mouth. His brain did not want to ask just for the baked goods. He wanted to know if Jason being nice and have dinners and just plain 'ole being nice to him would be a routine of some sort. Because Tim's conscience was starting to imply that he could get used to it and feel alright about it. Maybe even be a little happy at it.
Jason shrugged as he settled on a 'how-to-make' something program on TV. "If you want."
Tim scratched his head. "I..." he started. Jason's eyes were glued to the TV and Tim wondered how the hell he'd kept his emotions so much in check. Except when he was furious about something. And Tim definitely know about the furious Jason, he'd been on the receiving end one time too many. "...do you take requests?"
"If I have the recipe, sure." was Jason's reply. "You going back to the Tower?"
"Yeah." Tim answered, forcing back a yawn, his body's signs that it is contented. "I better get going..." he said, starting toward the window. "Thanks for the dinner. And the baked stuff."
Jason got up and followed him to the window. "You have my number. One of it, at least, or a dozen. Let me know you got there safe." he said before Tim slipped out of the window to the fire escape.
Tim nodded, "sure." he said. He caught jason's eyes, And if asked later, by anyone - short of by extreme and copious use of some kind of truth serum and/or mind-reading - Tim would not admit of what brought in the impulse to hug Jason. But he did. He felt Jason tensed a little, and then relaxed under his arms and hugged back awkwardly.
Nope, definitely not saying anything.

Note
So in your earth - 3 verse the owl family seems more tight knit than the batfam - if I'm right. They even make sure Jason is more so in the group than the batfam. They also make it more of an effort to do that - even to the point of 'too much.' How else is the owl family different from the batfam. Besides the fact that they're bad guys. Like each character and how they differ between the alternat version of themselves. Also if the two were to meet what would they think of the other/respond?
I know you already wrote where Nightwing and Nightingale switch universes for a little bit but if they (had) to work together or something, even if that would be filled with conflict. Also do you think that some of them might be jealous in some way of their alternat self. Like Jason seems to have it somewhat worse in the batfam verses the owlfam. Tim perhaps as well. And how do you think after having to 'work together' they would end up veiwing the other?
It's not that I see them liking each other - no. But actually perhaps growing to resent each other on a more personal level. What do you think
Well, probably the simplest, biggest difference between the Bat vs Owl characters is just because of the variations on how they were raised.
Below follows a lot of discussion of my Earth-3 universe, Nightingale, etc.
Starting with the differences...
- Dick was actually pretty similar up until Bruce, though his childhood had more of a focus on show business, but Bruce encouraged him to get revenge for his parents and set him on a much darker path than canon Dick. The Owl version plays hard for an audience. He doesn’t let himself rely on basically anyone, and he views almost everyone as at least a little bit inferior to him. He saw his parents die, trusting each other and the rope, and he’s not going to ever let himself make that same mistake. He trusts his family, is viciously protective of them, and would burn the world and himself to make sure they survive. He’s still the workaholic, he’s still the one to make the sacrifice play if he thinks he has to, but he hides that loyalty because it’s also a sort of weakness.
Nightingale, on the outside, plays to everything that makes people underestimate him. He’s pretty and he’s lithe and if you make the mistake of thinking his attractiveness makes him less dangerous, you’ll end up on the sharp end of a knife real quick. A blade is easier to hide when it’s smiling, instead of glaring at you. (And a flirt distracts and unnerves people; makes them sloppy.) Nightingale exploits every weakness in other people, especially the ones that he causes himself.
A Nightingale that met Nightwing would think that he was full of weaknesses, and Nightwing would be horrified at the potential that he could turn out like this, if things went just the right way. There would be a mutual respect of talent and skill, but Nightwing would want to jail/contain/neutralize Nightingale, and honestly Nightingale would probably want Nightwing dead. After all, Nightwing is a living, walking example of all the things that Nightingale doesn’t want anyone to know about him (that he loves his family, that he has a hell of a temper, that he works himself to the bone more often than not, etc.). No one would walk away happy from that, if they walked away at all.
- Jason is somewhat more stable in the Owls, but he’s also a lot more screwed up in different ways. Dick’s got him all twisted up around his fingers, and trying to go a different path from the rest of your family is a lot harder when the rest of your family are a bunch of murdering psychopaths instead of, you know, heroes. One version gets you stuck in jail, the other gets you stabbed and repeatedly dragged back to them. On the other hand, it’s harder to ignore someone killing when you don’t want them to, as opposed to the Owl version where every once in awhile Jason just does something heroic and/or not totally in line with family wishes, which mostly just provokes irritation.
So I wouldn’t say that he’s necessarily got it better than canon Jason. It’s somewhat easier early on, but he doesn’t agree or like all the family tactics and those kind of dislikes build up over time. Sooner or later, Jason’s going to need time to not be around that kind of easy violence. That might not go well.
Canon and Earth-3 Jason meeting would go, I think, fairly smoothly. They’re both fucked up, but they’re both somewhere in the morally grey area and they share a love of the rest of their family. There would be some commiserating about being the respective black sheep of their families, but really Jason - in either world - I think is too grounded to want to try and change or interfere with another universe’s version of him. Once they got the situation figured out, things would go peacefully.
- Tim is... He was neglected, terribly, in Earth-3, but this tiny Tim didn’t have a Robin to look up to, he had a Talon. He puts together this information that Bruce Wayne is the Gotham urban myth/supervillain/terror of the night Owlman, and he watches Talon, and he sees an answer to all his problems. A role model. When Jason dies is really the tipping point. Bruce becomes unstable, he gets violent in rage instead of from calculation, and Tim steps in to offer himself as an apprentice to restore the order he’s seen come to life under Owlman’s rule. He doesn’t do things in halves either, so he goes to Bruce and he offers himself, and he asks for Bruce to kill his parents (who he barely really knows anyway) and take him in.
Tim in Earth-3 is a maladjusted, nearly sociopathic killer that sees people as either people that can be used, or are useless, with the rare exceptions of those that he truly comes to know and respect/be loyal to. (Bruce, Dick, and later down the line, Kon, Jason, and Damian as well.) Those are also the ones that actually treat him as someone close to them/loved, and he’s honestly so starved for that attention that even scraps of it are enough to keep him completely loyal to someone.
He hates being out of control, he doesn’t like other people having an advantage on him, and he’s learned that in a world full of people stronger than him, the best defense is to have strangleholds already in place for anyone that might be a threat. The rest of his family is, physically, more dangerous than he is, but Tim studies people and he pinpoints exactly how to beat them, and that makes him a terrible enemy to have.
Tim meeting himself would be... perilous. Canon Tim, like Dick, hates seeing how very twisted and evil he can get, given the proper motivation. Earth-3 Tim, on the other hand, probably just thinks that canon Tim isn’t worth his time. (Except maybe to pick his brain for any ideas that may not have occurred to him.) If canon Tim gets in his way, he’ll kill him; otherwise, may as well leave the threat alone and avoid it, if possible. Why take the risk?
- Damian really is more or less the same. In both worlds he’s raised in a family that’s trying to teach him one way of live, and then he comes to Bruce and he learns a different one. One that he thinks is difficult at first, or doesn’t fully understand, but quickly becomes accustomed to and enjoys, inevitably picking it over Ra’s’ side of things. Damian of Earth-3 might actually be a little bit less of a rage-ball. In the Owls, he’s accepted for any and everything he might be, with the only condition being that he remains loyal to his family. If that means he loves animals? The other Owls will gladly support that habit (even if there will be a bit of teasing). He wants to go out and take out all his bad feelings on someone? They’re there for that too.
The main difference? The Owls do not take shit from Damian. There’s no ‘he’s a kid, go easy on him’. There’s no Damian ousting Tim from his position. Pecking order (forgive the pun) is very well established in the Owl family, and Damian being Bruce’s son doesn’t mean that he gets to jump to the top. Dick earns Damian’s respect/slight fear right off, with his initial ‘let me test you’ sparring session, and when Damian tries to press his ‘blood son’ advantage over Tim? He gets his ass handed to him. Tim takes him down hard, and Damian is never stupid enough to try it again. Tim gives up his position willingly, and Damian becomes Talon, the latest apprentice.
I think if the Damians met, there would mostly just be unease. These are versions of themselves that, from their point of view, fell to what they rejected. If possible, I think they’d be best suited by parting ways as soon as possible, though neither would be willing to let the other run around in their universe. The only peaceful way that happens is if they can split and go back to their own worlds, otherwise it’s a ‘I must stop you’ situation.

I'm just now really being introduced into the superhero marvel/DC world. Do you know a good way to start out, or a good place to buy comics? :)
Okay the first thing I'd say is watch Young Justice on Netflix/find it online somewhere (I used the website kisscartoon to watch the second season before it was on Netflix and it had the first season too so). It's DC comics and it features the sidekicks/ of six of the Justice League Members: Robin, Aqualad, Kid Flash, Miss Martian, Superboy, and Artemis. I'm sure you can tell who Robin and Kid Flash go with, so Aqualad is Aquaman's sidekick and Artemis is Green Arrow's. (GA's sidekick was Roy Harper aka Speedy/Red Arrow/Arsenal, but he rage quit. It's complicated.) Miss Martian isn't really Martian Manhunter's sidekick as much as she is just his niece, but she's on the team as well as Superboy, who is Superman's 16 year old clone. Uh, that's complicated too and Superman kind of hates him but that's not important right now. These six form a team called Young Justice, like the Justice League, and they go on these missions they get from Batman where they're usually just supposed to observe and report but they usually blow stuff up in the end. It's pretty cool. And season two is pretty freakin awesome as well, though it's got many more characters. And they get the characterization of the characters like 99% accurate and I LOVE IT A LOT OKAYAlso if you haven't, definitely watch the DC TV shows on the CW because The Flash, Arrow, Supergirl, and Legends of Tomorrow are AMAZING (and all on Netflix, all seasons are on there. Idk where you can watch it online but I'm pretty sure you can so yeah.)Also you should watch the Batman: Under the Red Hood movie. It's animated (just like Young Justice - the CW shows are live action) and it's about how Jason Todd, aka the second person to take up the role of Robin, (spoilers, though this happened back in the 80s so not really) died and came back to life. Oh, there's like five different people who became Robin in the comics. It's complicated (that's in this order: Dick Grayson, Jason Todd, Tim Drake, Stephanie Brown, and Damian Wayne were all Robin. Damian is currently Robin)I really really don't know enough about DC or any comics really to tell you that, but for DC stuff you should ask @sohotthateveryonedied for DC comic book recommendations because she's a genius and she knows a lot more about the comics than I ever will (also she's a great person)For Marvel I have not a lot to go by for any comics stuff because I've never been into reading the comics or anything but the most I can say for Marvel is WATCH THE MOVIES. Just. Trust me there. Hope I could help!! 😊

Hi! I'm really interested in reading comics/graphic novels about or featuring the Batkids, and you seem like you know about that kind of thing (or at least more than I do, although it's a low bar), so do you think you could give me some suggestions to get started with? Also, I've seen some DC stuff at the library with "Death of the Family" on it but some is Batman and some is Batgirl and I think I saw a Teen Titans one and are they all connected or something? I'm confused. Thanks!
Yes! I do know quite a bit about comicsin the BatFam area, I just unfortunately can’t recommend anythingthat came out in the last 2 years as I’ve not read it. But 1989-2015I can give LOTS of recommendations.
For the most part any title can be astandalone, but titles do unfortunately get wrapped up in companywide events at times. But if you read the GN rather than theindividual comics they try and keep events to their own combo storybooks and character titles to their own.
This is such a huge list that I’mputting it under the cut so you click to read it instead of everyonegetting spammed with a HUGE list of things…
Here is what I’d recommend:
-Jason Todd as Robin II (Later known asRed Hood): It seems as though the majority of Jason writers presentday neglected to actually read his original issues, because they basetheir knowledge and opinion of him on what readers in the 80’sTHOUGHT of him, and unfortunately at the time many people hatedJason. Much of the hate was for a Robin in general as at the timeplenty of people thought Bruce should be on his own. No Batgirl (seethe Killing Joke) and no Robin. So the hate was for the role ingeneral. And then you had Robin fans that hated him just because theydidn’t want anyone trying to replace Dick’s role even though Dick hadmoved on to Nightwing. Jason as Robin issues are Batman #408-428, andNew Teen Titans Vol2 #19-21, 24, 28-31. I’m sure there were issues ofDetective Comics, but I have no idea which. In recent years much ofthese issues are in GNs but some of the issues are not, so you mayhave to look those up individually to read online or buy them instores with older issues. These GN are- Batman: Second Chances(Batman Issues #402-403, 408-416, and Annual #11), Batman Ten NightsOf The Beast (Batman Issues #417-420), DC Comics Classics Library:Batman- A Death In The Family, Hard Cover (Batman Issues #426-429,440-442, New Teen Titans Vol2 #60-61). this edition of “A Death InThe Family” contains both the death of Jason and the introductionof Tim, which was a story focused around Jason. So it’s a 2-for-1deal. There’s also a GN called Batman: The Cult and Jason’s the Robinwith Bruce in that story as well though I’m not sure where to placethat in the chronology.
-Tim as Robin III (Later known as RedRobin): Tim had an excellent run as Robin. He had 3 mini-seriesbefore he had an entire run of his own that spanned 183 main issues, not counting team ups or annuals. All while also appearing in theother Batman, Nightwing, and Batgirl titles. Plenty of issues werecompany wide tie-in issues but the rest were all put into their ownGNs. Robin: A Hero Reborn (Batman #455-457, Robin Mini-series1 #1-5),Robin: Tragedy & Triumph (Detective Comics #618-621, RobinMini-series2 #1-4), Robin Mini-series3: Cry Of the Huntress #1-6 isnot in a GN that I know of, then the rest of his main run in FlyingSolo, Unmasked!, Fresh Blood, To Kill a Bird, Days of Fire andMadness, The Virtual Cell, Wanted, Teenage Wasteland, The BigLeagues, Violent Tendencies, and Search for a Hero.
Likewise…
-Dick as Nightwing in his solo title(Vol2): 153 issues not counting team ups or annuals. Like with Robinmany of these issues are tied in with company wide events, and therest are in their own GNs. I recommend the 2014-present editions asthey have a bit more in them, better paper/graphics, and are wayeasier to find, but they haven’t remade all of them yet. Nightwing:Blüdhaven, Nightwing: Rough Justice, Nightwing: False Starts,Nightwing: Love and Bullets, Nightwing: The Hunt For Oracle are thenew editions. Continuing from there the older editions are:Nightwing: Big Guns, Nightwing: On the Razor’s Edge, Nightwing: YearOne, Nightwing: Mobbed Up, Nightwing: Renegade, Nightwing: Brothersin Blood, Nightwing: Love and War, Nightwing: The Lost Year,Nightwing: Freefall.
-Batman Knightfall: One of the classicBatman stories, in which the main bad is the villain Bane, whoseriously injures Bruce. This story spans three GNs: Broken Bat, WhoRules The Night, and Knightsend
-Batman Cataclysm: Another classic. Amassive earthquake hits Gotham and decimates the city. This can befound in one GN, thought look for what I think is the 2012 edition ofthe book not the one one as they included a lot of previous cut storyin the newer edition.
-Batman No Man’s Land: FollowsCataclysm. Essentially Gotham is covered in rubble and a massiveterritory war breaks out between BatFam, GSPD, and several separategroups of Gotham’s baddies. It spans 4 super thick GNs in the 2012newer edition (don’t bother with the older editions) but also has areally enjoyable novelization if you would prefer to read it inwritten format!
-Batman Hush: Essentially Bruce vs Hushand sometimes Clayface, and a story that unintentionally set up JuddWinick to bring Jason back to life lol…one GN in more recenteditions but was previously 2 smaller GNs. I do not know if there isa difference but generally larger book versions have a bit extra inthem.
-Batman Under the Red Hood: Jasonreturns as the Red Hood, sending Bruce on an emotional rollercoaster, while Joker and Black Mask end up roped in. Lots of peopleinvolved. Like Hush this come in one or two book format. I have thesingle book format. This story was adapted into an animated movie, one that also takes a few moments from “A Death In The Family”,but the beginning part was highly modified to make it a stand alonefilm, so several key details are removed. I do recommend watching themovie, but after reading both “A Death In The Family” and thecomic version of “Under The Red Hood”, so you get the fullexperience.
-Batman War Crimes, War Drums, and WarGames (WG is three GNs long): this connects into both Robin and RedHood. This is unfortunately where Stephanie (Spoiler, brief Robin IV,Batgirl) “dies” and there’s a massive war against Black mask. It’s five GNs total.
I pretty much have to recommend anyBatman Titled GN that comes after that as it goes more into Hush,Damian comes in and there’s a lot of plot to cover there, Bruce“dies” and the mantle is picked up by Dick, and it was a heck ofride until the reboot happened.
Outside of main Batman titles aroundthat time I have to HIGHLY recommend the following:-Batmanand Robin: Basically Dick and Damian’s team-up book series. Itspanned three GN with Morrison, and one after him totaling four. Wealso got more Jason here, and his sorta Batgirl type sidekickSasha/Scarlet. Admittedly it was weird because Morrison thought itwould be fun to give Jason red hair (something the main version ofJason never had, but had in issues for another version of Jason thatwas scrapped before any issues I mentioned in this post) and bulk himup. But if you can gt around that the actual plot on the Jason endwasn’t too bad and had some gems. But the Dick and Damian interactionand banter is the treasure here.
-Batman Streets Of Gotham: Again moreof Dick and Damian as Batman and Robin. But here we get Thomas Elliot(Hush) who surgically had his face changed to look like Bruce, and hefill Bruce’s public role under very close watch. We also get Damian’slittle friend Colin Wilkes (Abuse) who ends up close to him. He turnsinto a giant bulky rage man good guy :)
-Red Robin: Tim’s new solo series thatstarted after Damian took up being Robin and Dick went from Nightwingto being Batman. It’s 4 GNs long and was amazing. I can’t stress thatenough. I still mourn it ending. You get Tim on his own, you get himgoing up against/working with/outsmarting/impressing Ra’s al Ghul. You get Prudence Wood, one of Ra’s assassins that ends up liking andworking with Tim. You get Tam Fox, and Stephanie, and Conner Kent.
-Batgirl Vol3 (Stephanie Brown asBatgirl): Stephanie came back from faking her death, took back upSpoiler, only for Tim to demand she stop being Spoiler. He shouldhave been more specific, and she DOES drop Spoiler but then becomesBatgirl with previous Batgirl’s (Casandra) blessing lol. Spanned 24issues in three GNs but they are hard to find. Obviously there isCasandra’s run as Batgirl but i’ve never actually read it so I findit wrong of me to suggest it before I have so it’s up to you if youwant to hunt those down as well. But Casandra’s run was 73 issuesVol-1 (7 GN) sand 6 issues Vol-2 (which is in a single GN)
-Teen Titans Vol3 (Tim, Conner, Bart, etc) spans twelve GNs and had its ups and downs, but if you’re a teamfan this is a good series to read.
-Catwoman: A few different runs, andsome stand alone books. They’re all good pre-reboot. Read them ifyou’re a Catwoman fan :)
Now as far as books NOT in the main runof pre-reboot comics I also REALLY need to recommend the following:
Batman Year One: Bruce’s first year asBatman. Also Gordon’s first year on the job. One GN. Awesome and alsoadapted into an animated movie.
-Robin Year One & Batgirl Year One:These come in separate books or both in one big book. The Robin inmention is Dick and the Batgirl is Barbara. Both are fantasticstories.
-Huntress Year One: Huntress’ originstory. This is the Huntress that is NOT Bruce’s daughter from anotherEarth, this is the Mob associated one that was also featured in theTV series Arrow.
Superboy / Robin World’s Finest Three:two tiny GNs that tell the story of Tim and Conner’s first meeting. They end up going against Metallo and Poison Ivy.
JLA: World Without Grown-ups: This is astory spanning again two tiny GNs. Where Tim (Robin), Conner(Superboy), and Bart (Impulse, later known as Kid Flash) team up whensuddenly all the adults are in one dimension and all the underagepeople are in another.
Red Hood: The Lost Days: the story ofwhat happened between Jason’s resurrection and when he came back toGotham in Under The Red Hood. It’s one GN.
There are also some alternate universe stories that came out pre-reboot called Elseworld’s stories. Here are some good ones:
Batman:Brotherhood of the Bat: Alternate Universe what-if type story. Thisstory is if Talia had joined Bruce in Gotham and abandoned her fatherRa’s and his ways. The story is centered around their son, TallantWayne. This was an AU created before Damian entered the comics andthus one of many stories where Bruce and Talia’s son had a differentname. Bruce is dead and Tallant has to face his grandfather. This wasone thin GN but did have a sequel…
Batman: League ofBatmen: takes place after the above and spans two GNs to finish thestory.
Thrillkiller Batgirl & Robin: 3 issue AU where Barbara and Dick are the first vigilantes in Gotham in the 1960′s and go up against a FEMALE Joker. Bruce is a legit Detective. Every bit of this story is PAINTED and it’s amazing. It is followed up by a sequel.
Thrillkiller ‘62: Takes place where the above left off. But now Bruce is Batman alongside ‘Batgirl’. I won’t spoil the events of the above to give goo detail here lol.
Superman: Speeding Bullets: AU where Baby Kal-El crashes into Earth, where he is discovered by Thomas and Martha Wayne. The couple decide to adopt Kal-El, and name him Bruce. Fuses the two characters together. Thomas and Martha still die. “Bruce” becomes a flying Batman and later Superman.Batman: The Dark Knight Returns: Pretty much the most popular and longest AU that DC did. Spans 1 thick GN or multiple tiny ones. Not the greatest of art/setup but still good. Think of this as an AU Future Fic taking place after Jason died and Bruce retired instead of Tim coming along. Then he comes out of retirement to be a total badass. I do NOT however recommend any of the sequels or prequels because they are just BAD. This was adapted into TWO animated films which I honestly think I recommend more than the GNs due to the art.Post Reboot we hit the New 52. It had its up and downs. Nothing BatFam was particularly terrible but very little was amazing. personally the first 4-6 volumes of GNs for any given series was worth a read but not necessarily a buy. I read all the BatFam titles and the only ones that were MEH for me were Catwoman and Teen Titans. Red Hood and the Outlaws wasn’t for everyone, but I personally enjoyed it other than some details like Jason suddenly having magic??? and Kori having some personality issues but I was glas she wasn’t ditzy if that makes sense, and I really loved her character design even if I wish she at least had a touch more clothing on (once she was in a space suit and it was amazing). Suicide Squad isn’t technically BatFam but it had Harley in it in the New 52 and it was amazing even if I hated her visual re-design. Talon was a branch off of a Batman story line, and a specific character got his own title that spanned 2 GNs and was enjoyable.
Past that any Gns involving Batman The Animated Series are great, so are the Young Justice GNs.
I also have a huge love for the Batman Beyond show and Comics, but after the reboot they messed that up too.

How come people seem to forget Dick and Jason actually were close before he died? I mean looking way back on it Dick never seemed to hate Jason and he did give his blessing as the new Robin eventually. He was devastated when he found out Jason died. Unless I'm wrong it seemed like Bruce was the one at fault for giving Robin away w/o Dick's permission and always comparing Jason to Dick (which didn't help Jason's confidence). I'm not saying it was perfect, but DC why do you keep retconning bonds?
not saying they have to be close, like that, now. But I actually find it weird everyone treats Dick like he was always horrible to Jason (I mean he was better to Tim but he wasn’t evil either) during his Robin days. I also don’t see the huge appeal of Tim and Jason being close like they are (particularly w/how fast it was). I’d be more interested in developments of seeing Dick and Jason learning to become (better) brothers again while having Tim and Damian realize they aren’t so different.
Hey! You bring up very good points. But the way I like to view the whole Dick/Bruce/Jay family triangle is that everyone is human and everyone made mistakes and the end results were predictable but not one person’s fault (That’s not to say there was equal blame, not in this case hell no)
So to start off, you’re right that Dick didn’t “hate” Jason, he wasn’t “mean” to him or anything but there was problems, which you can/don’t have to blame on Dick himself. For one, Dick wasn’t very available to Jason at first. He kept his distance, stayed with the Titans and didn’t offer a lot of support to the new Robin. You can very easily, and rightly so, argue that it wasn’t Dick’s responsibility to leave his new sorta home in San Fran (or was in in the Haven already?) to come home and take care of his new bro while Dick is trying to grow up himself. And that’s exactly what he did, keep his distance and not give Jay someone to relate to. But yes, Dick was devastated when Jay died because one, he’d liked the kid and two, he knew he was at least partially to blame for not being there for the kid. It’s one reason why Dick is so ‘in your face’ with Tim, because he will not let another Robin feel unloved and get himself killed.
That said, one of the reasons Dick did keep his distance is because he was angry at Bruce and Jay by association. He was angry for being fired from Robin, for all the problems in their relationship, for being replaced so quickly and easily. Was it Jay’s fault? Of course not. Can you see why Dick maybe wasn’t jumping for joy over having a brother? Probably. Now Dick is a good person and he eventually gets over himself and he spends a little more time with Jay, comes to like him and officially hands over the Robin title on his terms. It’s a step in the right direction but as the saying goes, too little, too late. Jay had very little outside support, just Bruce and Alfred, and with all the issues he had and how they were poorly handled, no wonder he was upset. I’m not saying there’s a direct link from Dick’s absence to Jay’s death but it certainly was a big contributing factor to Jay feeling depressed and angry and eventually killed him.
So on one hand, while Dick is semi responsible for what happened I completely blame Bruce for a lot of things. For one, you’re absolutely right in that he didn’t have the right to hand over the Robin title. I’ve talked about this before, but Bruce was just as upset over the break-up with Dick but Bruce is shit with emotions so made it 50x worse. But he missed having a kid around so he just picks up Jay out of the blue and slaps a costume on him and calls it good. But just because I understand his reasoning, doesn’t make it right. He not only put Jason, a young traumatized boy with PTSD and other issues into a dangerous situations and not properly help him deal with his troubles, but by doing so he further degraded the relationship between himself and Dick and made it harder for Jay to connect with Dick. Bruce honestly believed he was doing right by Jay, only near the end when Jason became more reckless and violent did he realize that he’d made the wrong choice, that punching criminals was not helping Jason. But by the time he was thinking of benching Jay and getting him help, Jason was off to search for his mother and well, you know.
And I really can’t place much blame on Jason. For one, he was a traumatized 12/13 year old kid and thus should be given leeway. But besides all that, given his impossible situation, Jay did a pretty damn good job. He put up with Bruce’s less than loving demeanor, resented feeling like he was just replacing Dick (who wouldn’t?) but worked hard at training and loved being a hero. He reached out to Dick and eventually got the validation he craved. But the failing of both his mentor and brother figure took their toll and his issues were made worse instead of better plus the kid was probably in the midst of puberty. He lashed out, was angry and depressed and I can’t blame him for how he acted. If I was that unhappy, with a gloomy, emotionally unavailable mentor and a kind of dick brother and no real support outside  that, I might also travel all over the world to find a mother because he needed someone, anyone, to help him.
So while the Dick/Jay relationship wasn’t terrible, it wasn’t the best either. And once again, it wasn’t completely Dick’s fault because Jay wasn’t his responsibility and he had understandable reasons for staying away, but it’s disrespectful to the history to pretend things were hunky dory. Because Jay might not have run off to Africa if he’d had a big brother there constantly helping him and telling him he’s loved and important. Or maybe he would have, we’ll never know. But there’s a reason the relationship between Nightwing and Hood is strained and it’s not all because of the Bat. It’s clear Jay blames Dick at least a little for what happened and we know for sure that Dick blames himself.

Episode #10: “ I'm a fucking Virgo. If you burn me I will never forget it.” - Jess
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Dear Alyssa,
For someone who claims to have a HUGE interest in Astrology.... you seem to have forgotten the fact that I'm a fucking Virgo. If you burn me I will never forget it. You declared war and that's on YOU.

Tumblr media
i hate this “we only start talking an hour before tribal” nonsense that this merge tribe has going on. like pls get your lives together sooner. i don’t even message ppl anymore bc we just do the “yaaa i haven’t heard anything” “me either” back and forth
i feel pretty hopeless in the game i’m ngl, fully think we should just wrap it up now and give zach the win
alyssa is an emotional and illogical player who came into the merge with the goal of miguel and luke being voted out for voting against her premerge. she didn’t think of the long term, only revenge. it’s embarrassing.
i don’t rly have an endgame path. or anything anymore. i miss luke and stephen.
Tumblr media
So, yesterday was a bit of blindside for me. Not even really because Luke left, I woke up that morning willing to vote him out myself, but because I was unable to get Karth, Tim, or Alyssa on my side. I don't think any of them are truly "against me" at this point but it's a little worrying that Luke left over Jake, who I still don't really have a strategic relationship with.
Alyssa confronted me last night saying that other people had gone to her and said that I was planning to target her once Jake was gone. This isn't exactly true, but it has enough basis in reality since I have talked in the "4-elements" alliance about how we should target Jake before going after Alyssa. I'm not sure who went to her with this idea, nor do I know if she was even approached with it in the first place. Alyssa has deceived me for 2 votes now. First, she outright lied to me about voting Zach out at F10 (I still don't technically have confirmation of this, but it makes sense that she'd take out Luke/Miguel as soon as possible). More evidence supporting that she lied is that the former Kato2.0 side decided to vote Luke out next, which would be odd if he was the one to flip to their side at the first merge vote.
The second thing she lied about was being on the fence at this last tribal council.  After Luke was gone she told Jess that we "should've known she didn't want Jake out" despite her never saying that to us. It's clear that Alyssa had planned to vote Luke out as soon as she knew this would be a 5-4 vote. But she lied to me about that and wasted my time up until the very last minute.
Basically, what I'm saying is... it's getting exhausting to try and work with her strategically. It's not like Ally/Jess/Karth, who I feel I can talk frankly and honestly with. I want her and Jake gone. Jake hasn't really "wronged" me in anyway, but I can tell him and Alyssa have to at least be a little close so the jury can have both of them. Honestly, I kinda want them both gone more than Zach at this point. I'm doing my best to win this upcoming immunity challenge so people stop going behind my back, but if Zach were to win.. well... I certainly have a few alternatives in mind.
Tumblr media
I am feeling a bit stuck in this game. With Zach in the game I feel my game is pretty restricted and I would feel too bad to backstab him. I already felt bad for voting Luke. I just dont know what to do here.
Tumblr media
i have no idea what’s happening
zach and karth have reached out to me about potentially trying to reconcile and ofc i’m open to that
i’m kinda worried they’re voting jess out and i hope not bc i love her
i wish i had any kind of idea what i was doing
i wish luke didn’t get voted out
i wish this idol search made sense
i wish i was a little bit taller i wish i was a baller
Tumblr media
So apparently Zach and Jake are throwing around Stephen's name with my name as an alternative. I'm not surprised at all at this rate. I figured this would happen as soon as I took my strike at both Zach and Jake.
The only possible saving grace from this all is that both Alyssa and Tim let me know about it. This kind of gives me a glimmer of hope that both of them aren't willing to at least vote me out at this stage in the game. If they'd did.. they'll look like idiots because I'm playing such a horrible game. I have yet to make a big move or win an immunity, I don't have any solid alliances aside from "The Last Hope" which honestly just a circumstantial alliance and most likely we die soon. Taking me at this point is ridiculous because I'm literally the perfect person to sit final 3 with right now.
My game plan at least now is.. I want either Zach or Jake to go. If I can work the angle of Jake or Zach trying to get me out as a way to sway people who think I'm their best friend in this game... yeet. If not I am dead and I will write my own eulogy....
If I get voted out because I lost immunity by 1 point.. I WILL FUCKING RIOT.

Ok so sorry for the lack of confessionals going on I have a lot (of good things) happening in my life atm. Anyways, I got sent to the basement which sux and now the vote is super stressful!!! I'm pretty much pulling a lot of strings within the tribe atm and trying to balance it all! I have Zach and Jake in my pocket completely!! Jake and Alyssa are like on my coat tail and Jess/Stephen/and Ally are in their grave ready to be destroyed lmaoo. Fingers crossed I don't go home.
Tumblr media
im vulnerable, and it's an hour til tribal. i'm unsure of what's going to happen. here's a quick recap:
A - i go to ally/stephen to encourage reconciling. i think this is genuinely smart as we are all 'big threats' and it's stupid to let middle players slide by while helping pin bigger threats against one another. they basically end up agreeing (more so stephen). B - alyssa and tim come to me (separately) saying that they are throwing my name around, and tim goes even further to say that they want to split between me / jake. this sounds really believable based on track record. C - ally pms me saying that she heard X told Jess who told her that i'm targeting stephen. i say it's true, but under the circumstances that people are saying they are going after me. D - we talk in the "alliance" chat and come to a conclusion that jake should be the vote as he best fits the "middle player" role, thus being dangerous. though i disagree, i'm in no position to bury karthik/tim in a hole. E - with karthik spearheading, i help flip the vote from stephen to jess. this is because jess will weaken that side, and i don't trust her. at all. on top of that, it helps me not worry as much abt alyssa being sketchy & it keeps my promise 2 stephen/ally in the sense of not voting stephen (and i can argue saying that with them lying at merge, i had to be reaaaalllllyyyy cautious). F - i'm unsure about my idol. it could still happen. right now i'm leaning towards playing my idol because i want it GONE. by using this idol, here are the outcomes: F.1 - the vote is 4-4 or even more slanted, and i idol successfully, meaning jess will leave this game. F.2 - i receive 0 votes and completely waste it. this makes me more vulnerable, but also, could help if i utilize it correctly/effectively. F.3 - I receive 3 votes (give or take) and it's ineffective but shows that i can't trust ally/stephen and by attachment, jess (who should be gone). i guess my preferred order would be F1 -> F3 -> F2 just because if i use it, i want it to be as effective as possible since wasting an idol isn't going to help my case at FTC (which is already weak LSDGKDSLGDSH).
my gut is really sick (as always bar f9.. so just f10). i don't THINK i'm getting any votes, but u can never be too sure. to elaborate on the entire point of 'F', i want to go over pros n cons of idolling (and wasting it). PROS: - no more paranoia for me (GOD BLESS) - i'm much more vulnerable, meaning they may not target me (double-sided) - im 100% safe regardless, and in f7. CONS: - im more vulnerable; easier to target. - ppl are shook bc i dont trust them/ didnt tell them - its wasted and doesnt help my FTC case.
and lastly, who has the idols? [based on tribe idols] CONFIRMED: me . (OG Takagi idol) LIKELY: alyssa (the only person who could have two) COULD POSSIBLY HAVE ONE: stephen (someone probs has attila, i think itd be him or alyssa). karthik (basement king, but def not tribal idol probs .) jake (og kato, could have the kato idol). NOT LIKELY: tim (og takagi/nu-kato. both idols were gone, so i doubt it. but, maybe basement??) jess (unless she worked w alissa n found attalia, it's no) DEFINITELY NOT: ally (was on OG Takagi (my idol) and takagi post-swap, so unless swap idol, N/A).
Jess is voted out 5-3. She becomes the fourth member of our jury.
