i respect the chilumi ship and think it has great potential for fascinating character studies and/or porn, but i once saw a chilumi fic refer to childe as the strongest of the harbingers(???) and have forever been plagued by bad characterization and weird thirst inspired inaccuracies:/ sorry if this is random but the “strongest fatui harbinger” take is just unfortunately burned in my mind and i must share this curse with people
This is all I can say to you.
But yeah, he's baby. Fandom loves to micharacterise this guy, and it's so often that I see someone praising "wonderful characterisation" in a fic and then I open it and just... no.

Lately been thinking of random scenarios with Sammy and Wilson, my god the salt moments would be real. No, you don't understand! The Salt.
Idk I might do an actual illustration of them but for now I am clowning
(also now using clipstudio paint and of course I clown around testing it out)

honestly hands down best moment of genre commentary on the venture bros was when the monarch said "He threw me in jail. Literally. Threw me right into the yard at the state prison. Then he shouts up to the warden 'Looks like this one won't be causing any more trouble.' And then he flies off with a gay little salute. Apparently nobody ever told him what due process was."

also yes i have been telling chase he needs to cut his hair he's not listening to me
if you're wondering why the transcript took so long... yeah this is why i'm not gonna lie. the costumes look significantly less cool irl though despite our efforts so just pretend they're this source-material-accurate

“It’s kind of cold in here, isn’t it?”
“Shut up.”
The hero has been in this cell in the basement for what must be weeks by now. It’s gloomy and damp and boring, and she’s at her wits end dealing with it. The best way she can think to take her mind off it is to turn her attention to what’s outside the bars of her cage.
“The blanket I was given is wet,” she says.
“Too bad,” is the only response she gets from the villain’s sidekick stationed just on the other side of the cell. She huffs irritably – she discovered pretty soon after she got here that they’re not overly talkative.
“It’s freezing now,” she continues, ignoring the way they roll their eyes at her words. “This cell is damp. What if I get damp disease and die? That’d be awkward for [Villain].”
“You’re not going to get damp disease,” they snap back, and the hero is pretty sure it’s the most words they’ve said in one go so far. “That’s not a thing.”
She doesn’t miss the slight humoured inflection in the guard’s words. “Yes it is,” she retorts with a grin. “I’m going to get damp disease because this blanket is damp and it’s making me sad.”
The sidekick finally turns to face her with a huff, trying to look annoyed but failing to hold back the ghost of the smile on their face. “If I get you a new blanket will you be quiet for more than ten seconds?”
“What, conversation’s too boring for you?” The hero laughs shortly as she shoves the blanket through the bars. “I can tell you all about the times I kicked your boss’s ass, if you’d prefer.”
“You could never. That’s how you ended up in here.”
The guard takes the wet bundle from her, grimacing at the feeling of it in their hands. “Wowwwwww,” she exclaims. “Okay, cold. You have a point but there was no need to make it.”
They wander away from the cell with a huff of a laugh, leaving the hero alone in the jail for the first time since she got here. They return barely a minute later, seeming somewhat relieved to find her still sitting behind bars.
“Blanket,” the sidekick says flatly as they hand the ball of dry, slightly warm fluff between the bars again.
“So it is,” she replies with a smile as she drapes it over her lap. “Thanks.”
They falter by the door uncertainly. “Sure,” they say after a moment of deliberation, and they turn back to face the exit.
The hero grins victoriously as they do. It’s the most tolerant they’ve been the entire time she’s been here. Maybe she has a chance of passing the time in here more smoothly after all.
