last read: last book i finished was Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier which i really liked actually. it’s a gothic mystery romance novel which is a lovely combination of genres imo and i do recommend it if you are into that kinda stuff too. im talking about his like it’s not a super famous gothic classic. anyway give it a try
currently reading: combined letters of Franz Kafka which is basically all his letters to his two gfs and his dad. honestly his fiction books are not really my jam, i tried reading metamorphosis and the trial and couldn’t even finish them but his letters man.......... talk about a guy in love tortured by his crippling ever present anxiety, telling his gf about how he does exercises undressed in front of an open window. highly recommend this one!!! kafka writes like no other when he writes about his personal life and feelings. and that;s all im reading cause i don’t like to read several books at a time, it makes me anxious about all the stuff piling on that i haven’t finished and i also get distracted easily
next read: honestly i have no idea. usually i finish a book and give a little rest to reading for some time before picking up another one cause otherwise i start comparing the two too much. so when the previous one was excellent then if the next one is even slightly less good than that it starts feeling worse just by comparison ( am i explaining this right?)
