While I spent most of wedding impossible just being frustrated by it, some of the scenes actually disgusted me. The biggest one was Jihan telling Dohan the first time he was ever ashamed of Dohan was because Dohan "used someone" to cover up being gay. And then when Dohan rightfully points out that he and Ahjeong agreed on this both fully knowing the situation, Jihan says Dohan shouldn't have dragged her into it? And that Dohan and Ahjeong agreeing on this marriage means Dohan doesn't care about Ahjeong? I'm sorry but there is literally NOTHING morally wrong about a consensual bearding relationship. Ahjeong and Dohan are two adults in their 30s who made a decision after discussions and deliberations. Jihan is acting like Ahjeong is some vulnerable child without any agency being held hostage by evil manipulative Dohan. It's like a weird intersection of homophobia and misogyny. For the first time in this show Dohan is actually being selfish, and I don't really blame him! No one is giving him literally any grace. Ahjeong sort of acknowledges that Dohan's feelings after finding out about her and Jihan makes sense. But no one has literally any empathy for Dohan and what he's going through, which has way higher stakes than a man and a woman wanting to date because they just can't live without each other after liking each other for what, a few weeks at most? I already believed the writers have to be straight based on the previous episodes, but this episode makes me think they have literally never talked to a gay person either.

Yeah, the way they treated Ah Jeong's choices and Ji Han's.... enrtire character... made the show painful if you understood anything about Do Han or even just tried to believe the show that they were friends and loving siblings.

Because if you took the show by its actions rather than it's words? You would never believe that Do Han and Ah Jeong were best friends of over a decade or that Ji Han ever loved Do Han and I mean that. I truly do.

But yeah. It's a big thing that there's just no empathy for Do Han and it's based in the idea of never lying and it's not just unpleasant but literally the entire ending was about how life is all made of lies and it's okay and it made no sense with the rest of the show.

Do Han was selfish for about five minutes in the entire show and it was brought on by his own fear of coming out which was totally understandable and then the show just took that away from him too by having his grandfather stop his first coming out to let Ji Han just... throw everything out for no reason, by the way, no reason whatsoever because, let's be honest, Do Han was never going to accept inheriting the business. He was never going to do that. He's a damn artist! Why would be agree to be a businessman!? He wasn't going to!

And then to have all of that, to have his grandfather call him SELFISH for trying to come out and then to just have that all be okay and fine and hunky dory at the end with no issues in the family!? With no actual resolution to any of it? No conversation between Do Han and Ji Han? No final talk with the grandfather? Nothing!? Just Do Han comes out and bam everything is healed because now he's not lying uwu

Do Han was given no grace or empathy and the show basically said 'it's a good thing someone outed him because that meant he stopped lying' and that is just an awful take to share with the world, damnit.

Ji Han was a bad brother and Ah Jeong was a mediocre friend and the show could have done it so much better.

You know what I want?

I want Thailand to remake this,

Just started Kate & Anthony's season! Assorted comments below.

1 - Kanthony

What a fun start they're off too! Great chemistry and sparks with this Rivals to Lovers pair.

I feel for Anthony and his severe (!) Eldest Brother Syndrome, but oh gosh. When he spouted some of that nonsense about finding a lady with "child-bearing hips and half a brain" I wanted to kick him lol I am so eager to watch him absolutely come apart with love of Kate.

Their first meeting is perfect. We learn quickly, within about 2 scenes here and later, that Kate is an expert with horses and doesn't back down from a challenge, not from Anthony or Lady Danbury - her back and forth with both of them really establishes (along with her careful planning, research, and care for her little sister) that she will make a magnificent Vicountess

-Anthony, you are not EVERYONE'S older brother

-Anthony.... does the thought of her.... astride... perhaps intrigue you hmmmmm????

There's something interesting about the way that, at the party, both Kate & Pen observe and listen from the edges, the duality of being not considered but keeping your ears open for insight? unexpected/feminine power moves 🤔

Kate likes to keep her secrets!! it's a way to keep control AND YET she feels drawn to Anthony enough to confront him directly about the shit he was just talking. it's a real risk, given his power and money. As much as he is already struck with her, SHE is struck with him too, to take that risk.

"your character is as deficient as your horsemanship. i bid you goodnight" LMFAO his face!!! it's clear the actors were having a wonderful time. love it!

I think it's great that Kate is telling herself she's trying to protect Edwina from him, but actually.... they're both already so struck by each other there's all kinds of delicious subconscious motives at play imo!

2 - Women's relationships

-kate's own Eldest Daughter syndrome oh honey 🫂

-kate & lady danbury's conversation & pen & eloise's conversation are so good? there's intimacy and stakes between the women that i really like. despite the society emphasis on m/f marriage and the ways it rankles and is part of patriarchy, the "marriage mart" is really a women run world in many ways.

-pen's family of women is SO NASTY which makes a good contrast - this thing being run by women doesn't mean it's good or nice.

-somebody let the queen and lady danbury have Old Ladies Yuri i beg of you

-it's.... kind of crazy how shippable Pen and Eloise are. though i am totally aware it is intended to be a platonic friendship and i think it's interesting on that level as well! the way Pen wants her column as Lady W to please Eloise, even to the point of revising it to suit Eloise's tastes... I'm really looking forward to seeing how their besties relationship came apart. The drama! oh it's gonna hurt (rubs hands together)

3- MISC notes

-diamonds weren't the highest valued gem at the time. that was a product of later debeers advertising (late 19th cent). the "diamond of the first water" slang is from Georgette Heyer in the 1920s lolllll Regency Romance is a Fantasy AU and always has been, which is why the way this show has adapted the books to create its own unique Fantasy AU is perfectly in keeping with the Regency Romance vibe!

-I love how relevant Pen's journey is to the plot and themes overall - how you can see the places (in her experience of family and society) her sharp edges come from, but also... her business savvy, her wit, and her decency (demanding a wage increase for the boys who sell her column!). ALSO even with her mother trying to dress her dowdy she still is such a cutie pie <3

anyone who knows childe knows that he lives for the thrill of battle. he loves the way the clash of sword against sword, metal against metal, skin against skin can get his blood pumping and his heart thrumming so loud it's like a drumbeat in his ears. always searching for a new target, this time childe has turned his sights to romance; because love and war are two sides of the same coin. and with you, the eleventh harbinger feels like he is always fighting a losing battle. whether it's contesting for your attention or your affection, he seems to win only once in a blue moon, and perhaps that is exactly why he cannot let you go. childe is someone who is always doing his best to improve, training every aspect of his life and honing his skills to reach his peak capabilities. so he convinces himself that winning you over will prove something, as if you're some kind of trophy to show that he can succeed in a relationship too. but really, childe doesn't want to admit he knows you couldn't care less and that he's fallen too hard for you to leave now.

✦ KAMISATO AYATO. [ pillar of fortitude ]

being born with a silver spoon in his mouth has led kamisato ayato to be used to being treated like a king. and that is why you, the only person to greet him with nothing but a barely perceptible nod, pique his interest. so he sends you a bouquet of flowers, and the next day you show up at the kamisato estate to thank him in person. ayato convinces you to take a walk around the grounds with him, and he swears that hour is the greatest of his life. but the next time he sees you at an event, you brutally give him the cold shoulder, and he can't figure out why. so he sends you another gift to apologise for anything he may have done wrong, and this time it's a set of diamond accessories. the next day, you show up at his front door. over time, ayato begins to notice a pattern, so his presents start becoming more and more elaborate too. he doesn't care that he's essentially paying for your time, all that matters is that you're with him because he simply cannot get enough of you. the only thing ayato's worried about is what will happen when he runs out of trinkets to give you, but surely by then you'll care about him enough to stay, right?

✦ SCARAMOUCHE. [ kunikuzushi ]

scaramouche is a name that strikes fear into every person unlucky enough to hear it. it carries with it a terrible reputation, reminiscent of one who wreaks havoc just because he can and desires godliness to convince himself he can be loved. but when his name falls from your lips, it is the sweetest word in the world.

he knows your wily tricks though, he sees through every ruse and pretense you create in a futile effort to make him believe you still care for him. you were just chasing his attention, and now that he reciprocates your supposed affection you're ready to walk out the door. but scaramouche isn't a harbinger for nothing, so he matches your behaviour with coldness of his own. you subtly refuse to kiss him? it's too hot, so he's sleeping in a different room tonight. you say you're busy every time he invites you for dinner? fine, guess work is too hectic for the rest of the month for him to come home early enough to catch you awake. in the end, scaramouche never fell for you either, and the two of you were just people who never healed from their past and instead took their hurt out on each other.

✦ SHIKANOIN HEIZOU. [ analytical harmony ]

the thing about being a doushin means that you're constantly alert, always on the hunt for clues, always aware, never letting your guard down. shikanoin heizou may seem like the exact opposite, but considering he's actually the most talented doushin, it would be foolish to assume so. his intuition tells him from the moment he meets you that you're looking for nothing but fun, a quick fling that you can leave in a month or two. but heizou is not one to back down from a challenge, so he acts clueless to your true intentions, telling himself that he'll play your little game up until the very end. but somehow, in between all the late night calls and midnight dates and stupid conversations, heizou, the know-it-all detective, realises he isn't certain if he still doesn't care about you. he gets his answer when you dump him though. the way his heart drops into his stomach and the emptiness that settles beside him in place of a real companion says a lot about his feelings for you. shikanoin heizou, the detective who can solve a crime in seconds, had foreseen this outcome from the start, but somehow none of his predictions included how heartbroken he would be when it really happened.

EEEK! I AM SO SORRY!!! this took a while 2 answer cuz i wrote a whole frickin ESSAY! i guess thats what happens when u ask tumblr user klavery 2 talk about klavery, lol.... ANYWAYS,

ok ok omg... firstly i want 2 warn that i clearly take them wayy too seriously and romanticize the fuck out of them and its rly embarrassing bcuz they are stupid but i am just too gone 4 them at this point so 😊👍

SO LIKE!!! avery being aspec + autistic in my minds eye affects pretty much everything abt their relationship 2 romance & dating & stuff... so that & the fact theyre like a dorky awkward nerd to me makes them pretty passive & nervous abt romance stuff, at least at first! avery seems like they could b the suave confident type when it comes 2 romance, which is the kind of person i think their character develops into once they get the hang of it (still a silly dork tho OF COURSE). that being said, in the beginning, avery wasnt usually the one to initiate things often! klara was his first everything... his first crush, his first kiss, everything like that (as opposed to klaras like, 20 exes, lol) so he was kind of inexperienced XP

the development of their relationship is like... at first they HATED each other, they found each other so ANNOYING and INSUFFERABLE, naturally... until a little problem in the form of a 13 year old child showed up at the dojo. apparently this kid was enough of a mutual threat to get the two of them to tolerate each other enough to reluctantly team up... also can i say they r literally like cartoon antagonists to me? they are SO funny and dumb i am SO obsessed... anyways! after the whole main plot of the isle of armor is over, they still kinda almost, try 2 awkwardly ignore each other? tsunderes... they cant admit theyre growing fond of each other xP and after a while, that strategy just doesnt work out :p they continue 2 train at the dojo, and this soon leads 2 them becoming friends! this part is integral 2 me 4 the development of their relationship, they become total besties, they r such galpals........

after some indeterminate amount of time after becoming friends, avery finally falls for her. i headcanon klara was always attracted to him, even when she hated him, lol. they were like two freaks who were perfect partners in crime. they get really close and affectionate, even platonically ❤ ... u can tell how crazy i am over enemies to friends to lovers for them xP

so with ALL THAT in mind.... i think klara would ask first? technically? i mean klara would b the kind of person 2 want someone 2 confess their undying love 4 her, but avery was kindaa weird. i dont think they would have EVER asked her directly tbh.... they were soo confused abt their feelings hehe, abt her but also abt dating in general. klara kinda knew abt the latter, considering avery would have opened up 2 her abt it in my brainspace. i guess knowing this she would just shoot her shot & suggest that they could date! avery is so nervous.... he panics and says he needs time 2 think on it, and when he finally recomposes himself hes all like, Ahem, Klara, I Would Like To Formally Accept Your Ever So Gracious Invitation.. hehehe.... he was so funny.

UM so they try dating!! and i dont rly care if it isnt realistic or believable or whatever at all i just like cute indulgent things.

so what do they do!?! WELL, i think a particular Official artwork could answer that..

(ok but could u IMAGINE my reaction when this was first revealed!? they literally merchandised MY headcanons they merchandised MY SHIP they did it ALL 4 me💞💞💞 this is my own scan too btw! sooo worth it. its soo in character too, klara too busy clout chasing 2 notice her partners abt 2 get his flesh melted off over some curry 😊 and of course, all the lil slowpokes around them❤ quintessential klavery image). but ya! this could possibly b their first date?? i feel like i wanna honor the existence of this wonderful art and say yes.... so aside from pokecamping or just hanging out around the island doing tasks and training and such, OFC they would go shopping, they would go 2 the mall, they would have spa day, avery would take her 2 high end fancy restaurants (bcuz hes upper class and loaded lol), all while being menaces 2 society of course 🥰. OH! wanna know what i think would b cute?? THIS IS SO CRINGE but basically i hc that they have rooms at the dojo 4 the students (so they dont have 2 sleep in tents or go home everyday or whatever...) and i think it would b SO cute if honey and/or mustard helped avery set up a lil candlelit dinner date in his room~ its so silly but so sweet❤

hmm.. honestly i really like the idea of their first kiss being kinda like, lowkey. juxtaposed to the kind of people they are. one might expect some kind of grandiose fairytale type situation... when in fact they were just chillin alone somewhere on the island, and she asked 2 kiss them... and they agreed! it left avery asking themself, what am i doing? how did i get here?? everything had been so different. this definitely wasnt what they would have imagined for themself... but they loved it. averys life was changing in unexpected ways. i guess this was first-love making him a little cuckoo in the head, huh? maybe this event had been a bit grandiose, in its own way.

WOW this post really devolved into me writing fanfiction about how kissing klara caused existential revelations within avery. nice! ok!

anyways!!! we r almost at the end! so!! avery was so touch starved, omg. he wouldnt let just anyone touch him, tho, of course. but if he liked you, well... earlier i said i believed they were pretty close b4 they dated, so if klara were to grab their hand, they wouldnt object, hehe~ (shes the one w the cold hands btw, and a firm grip, too..). things abt avery & physical touch interest me so much honestly, it is so intriguing when a character who could use psychic powers 4 everything would decide not to... especially when it comes 2 affection....

eeeeeaaaaahhh!!! ive gone on too long!! i never talk abt my hcs in detail EVER so like! theres stuff i know i couldve elaborated on more but i didnt wanna go TOO off topic... ofc i could write whole novels about my silleys..... THANK U 4 SENDING THIS!!!! hope it was comprehensible, heheh

i have more headcanons, and stuff I might include in my fic Aloe Vera, but this time, HUNTLOW EDITION!

1. hunter isn’t totally ignorant, he has had some exposure to media and books, so he has an idea of what romance entails but never really gave it much thought before bc he just assumed he would be too busy, just isn’t in the cards for him, he didn’t have anything to offer (moreso post-leaving the EC),etc. however that changes after ASIAS. at first, hunter thought he was just feeling great admiration for Willow and how skilled she was with plant magic, flyer derby and how confident she is, and absolutely 100% deserving of her Captain ranking despite aligning herself with wild witches. it takes a while and actually getting to know her for his initial feelings to develop into full-on crush mode, and when he finally happens he’s thrown off kilter bc he’s like “when in Titan’s name did THIS happen??” hunter is so used to having people in neat little boxes in his head (ally, friend, enemy, etc.) that he’s utterly discombobulated when he realize that Willow is not only existing in almost every category, but also exists in one entirely on her own. she also happens to be very pretty, he’s not stupid, hunter has eyes. he could be physically attracted to someone but he was mostly ‘ehhhhh’ about it bc you know, GG stuff, but when he was Caleb with the Entrails, he had a taste for more, and Willow is certainly someone he wants to get to know more.

2. on Willow’s part, she liked Hunter as a friend right away, and initially after ASIAS, she fancied a bit she might be able to convince him to change sides, bc clearly this boy isn’t all bad, just caught between a rock and a hard place with family obligations and pressure (which reminded her way too much of Amity and she reminded herself that she’s not a child anymore, she can now fight back to keep her friends; in her mind she’s not gonna make the mistake of backing down twice) and not only was he her friend, he was smart, awkwardly funny in a deadpan accidental kind of way, clearly skilled in fighting, and a natural in flyer derby, and he reminds her so much of Luz and Amity and Gus that being friends with him just felt like a forgone conclusion.

3. Willow’s feelings developed from a place of protection; once she heard of what Hunter experienced in EC, she was. fucking distraught. not that she’d let anyone know that, but that meant his life was in even more danger during the time she got to know him up until they reunited at the Hexside rebellion. bc how could she even hope to be the witch she wanted to be if she couldn’t protect those she cares about? and while she knows Hunter is perfectly capable, knowing how talented and skilled he is but still having gone through so much pain just made her remember how alone and hopeless she felt back as “half-a-witch” willow.

4. it’s not until hunter reveals even more of his background (I’d imagine when he finally reveals his grimwalker heritage) she’s made up her mind to protect Hunter, no matter what, for as long as they both shall live. the intensity and conviction of this thought hit her like a ton of bricks as soon as she thought it. she wants this boy in her life for the long haul, endless nights and texts with him talking about everything and nothing is proof enough for her, and the ease in which they want to protect each other. but the intensity of these thoughts is what surprises her bc while she’d feel the same feelings about her friends, the happiness and relief she feels when she thinks about hunter engulfs her from her head to her toes, her heart on fire, and considering her strength in magic is so heavily tied to her emotions, once she realizes “oh my Titan, I LIKE HIM-LIKE HIM.” every plant within a two mile radius of her person blooms at once.

5. after Hunter realizes his feelings for Willow are romantic in nature, he’s like “what now?” so he defaults to his usual past time regarding all his problems: research. he finds himself spending A LOT of free time at bonesborough’s library when he’s not reading into any of his other interests. he’s fully embarrassed to loiter near the young adult/teen section, considering how many people are usually there, and he keeps turning around and going back and forth enough times that Amity, who has been watching him this entire time, takes pity on him and suggests books that could actually help once he stutters out his reasons (“look, the emperor’s coven left me isolated, im hopeless when it comes to relating to and socializing with people, and it seems like relationships are tied in with that, ok??”). Amity is really kind of smug about this development, and eventually she sits down with him and says, “you like Willow, don’t you?”

6. because honestly? she can’t blame him one bit. and Amity could tell from the get-go that Hunter had some level of interest in Willow, but obvs they had other things going on at the time. and pre-labyrinth runners Amity would’ve been hissing and spitting and threatening Hunter with a shovel talk for even thinking he could pull one over and steal Willow away, but now she has seen how hard he has been working on his friendship with Willow, and he honestly cares about her as a person. and sure, maybe his awkward blush moments remind amity waaaaay too much of herself before she and Luz started dating, and damn it, she’s a much better person than who she was a year ago, so she’s gonna help this dude bc hunter has like, -5 game.

7. so she helps him out, drawing on her own experiences with dating Luz, telling him about stuff Willow likes. even sharing a few stories from her childhood friendship with Willow, even though it’s a little painful bc Hunter is finding out about all these happy memories in a positive context, while Amity still feels so much regret when she thinks about them. as their friendship grows, Amity becomes the one Hunter comes to first with any relationship insecurities and problems once Hunter and Willow actually start dating. also “amity it’s just not enough to get her flowers, I have to get her the BEST FLOWERS. AMITY HELP.” (he is so lucky he has grown on her and she loves Willow and Luz so much, the hopeless idiot).

8. confessions? Hunter does make the first move, much to everyone’s shock, but Willow triggered it. Willow and Hunter stay behind after flyer derby practice one day, just lazily sitting on their staffs watching the sunset and stars start to peak out. Hunter is rambling about how star placements are really similar to the human realm and his theories on how two different realms of existence could potentially share the same sky, and willow is just watching and listening with such fondness that it just slips out when he takes a breath before rambling on, “i like you so much”. it’s when he’s gaping at her in shock, his face blotchy and red to his ears does she realizing what she’s said, she squeaks and covers her red face in her hands, wishing the Titan would rise and swallow her whole. he floats over, gently removes her hands from her face, steels his nerves to kiss her on the cheek before pulling back, eyes wide and terrified, asking if she’d like to go out with him. the grudgby field below them immediately bursts into wildflowers. willow doesn’t notice bc she’s beaming and launches herself into hunter’s arms mid air exclaiming yes. Do they almost fall? yes but it’s okay.

10. this is a joke, but at the owl house, Luz’s shipping sense are tingling. she stares out the window, and after a beat, pumps her fist in the air, hissing “yes.” king is like “weh??” and she just smiles, “you’ll get it when you’re older.” Eda is staring at Luz like she’s nuts.

Porchay on the brink of choice - a chaotic essay

After reading this very interesting post about Vegas and why he is somehow a relatable queer character, it inspired me to write this essay about the three couples of KinnPorsche because each dynamic is important to show the huge difference between the "normal" world and the mafia world. Many different sorts of personalities are portrayed and each one is understandable in their own way.

I would say, the older the couple, the more the story bleeds into the mafia world though I don't know if Vegas is older than Porsche. But Porchay is a teenager who is naive and doesn't know much about the dark corners of streets. Porsche is more realistic having fought his and Porchay's fights and he doesn't have big judgement against the mafia any more. Vegas is the outcome of an always misunderstood child who tries to feel better with control over his power.

Porchay is the youngest of them all. He has seen dangerous people, in episode one, the house was robbed when they took the uncle away. He has seen scary men and has seen fights. But he is the protected kid. He didn't fully understand what the fighting meant for others because he never fought. Porsche protected him, kept him away from dirty business and always made it comfortable for him.

He is in one way traumatized and in the other way innocent. When he grows older, he could grow into Porsche or Vegas. Porsche just accepts his life, doesn't negatively second-guess his choices when his life already moved on. We see him regret the choice of becoming Kinn's bodyguard at the beginning of his new life but he is one to get used to everything rather quickly. He takes life as it goes, is used to look out for people. He let those men make him stronger and more resistable. Porchay will have to fight on his own from now on, he was even kidnapped. He can let the danger of life make him strong as well. He grants everyone their happiness and tries to help them all.

Or he gets scared and traumatized, feels misunderstood. The incident can be traumatizing and yes, I don't think he would become a sad and misunderstood teenager BUT he could be. And it's why his character is important in my eyes. Because he is living in his own, very bright world but at the same time, it just looks so bright while he saw the issues Porsche had and knows he has to be careful sometimes.

Porsche judged the mafia before because they gave him a hard time in living. But since his own emotions are very much affected by others, he learns to cope with it because he loves Kinn and Kinn is the mafia if he wants it or not. He easily fits into the world and changes of life, doesn't look back too often because it doesn't bring any good.

Vegas on the other hand doesn't fit in. He feels left out and forgotten by his family, a disappointment even. We see him putting on a mask whenever he goes outside. He holds many things back because it doesn't help addressing them and I think he is hiding behind a mask so often, he doesn't really know who he is. He is damaged because of trauma. This whole family is abusive and no one can lean on anyone. Always being alone and left out of certain things, only hearing what you're allowed to hear, it makes Vegas feel lonely and like people think he's unworthy.

"Maybe my father will accept us" is a deep wish from deep inside his heart he knows won't come true. But he hangs onto this hope, turns into an abuser himself to become someone his father will accept. Abusers were likely abused in the past themselves. It's a try to regain control over things you can't.

Vegas and Porsche are very different in the way they fight battles because Porsche never feels alone whereas Vegas does. Porsche loves working in a team, can even think better then. Vegas is a loner, thinks logical and maybe more focussed.

KinnPorsche and VegasPete represent two very different images of queer relationships.

KinnPorsche are the ones who are accepted within the family and aren't shy in showing their romance. Literally everyone knew because they are too obvious. They both have lived a life they both found lonely and wanted to be set free from. They are each others freedom.

VegasPete are both people who put on masks that couldn't be more fake. They feel like their true natures wouldn't be accepted outside and hide behind the four walls, bathing in self-pity. They feel lonely but can't help but like it in a way. It's not freedom they seek, it's understanding. They won't laugh at each other or be scared of one another just because they are different.

KimPorchay is neither of the above and apart from fluffiness, we haven't seen much. Their scenes are always in bright daylight, like they are the most sober and clean couple because they both don't carry their luggage into this relationship. The relationship obviously takes a turn after this week and maybe they'll get their own color or they turn either green or red. Porsche's scenes turned into dark green light, representing the mafia world. But the yellow still shows he never turned to the darkest side. He likes his life this way as well. The red color in Vegas' room shows Vegas' inner fight and the struggle.

Porchay is a strong opposite representation of the world. He is more on the outside, now seeing the inside as well. Let's see what his storyline will turn into.

Fandom: Charmed (2018)

Pronouns: They/Them

Short Bio: A child who had a rocky childhood, and was taken in by the Vera family at a young age. They have nothing special about them powers-wise, at least, that's what it seems at first…

Personality: Self-doubt plagues them. Even before the whole witch and powers thing their sisters have to go through, Karter never fully trusted themselves. They became all about other people. Through the Vera family, they start to try put some pieces together. Slowly letting themselves into the idea that they too deserve to be loved and cared for. They're a fighter. Loving hard and quick. However, that can sometimes prove to be a naive sense of looking at friendships with some people. They're quiet, never really voicing any thoughts they have unless prompted, preferring to be a background character. Smart, though not cliche smart, but has some smarts to them with creativity and problem-solving skills. Relationships:

Maggie and Karter Vera

Maggie and Karter first met when Maggie saw them across the road, sat outside their own house. Maggie felt a pull to try help this (at the time) stranger. She invited them around her house and they bonded from there. Maggie became Karter’s closest ally. Someone that understood them on a deep level, and who they felt like they could trust with anything. Out of the sisters, they are more open with Maggie. When Karter was told that the family wanted to adopt them, Maggie assured them that they could think about it, but was overjoyed when Karter said yes.

Maggie is a highly protective sister. If anyone even remotely says something that Maggie thinks is an insult to Karter, she’ll ruin them with everything she has. Karter has had times where they have ended to pull her away from what would turn into a fight, constantly telling Maggie that she doesn’t always need to step in, but this is the one thing she ignores from them. She always steps in, whether that be if it happens in front of her, or if she hears about it. She always does something about it. She always tries to help with anything regarding fashion or looks. Giving serious consideration to Karter’s looks. And helping “fix” anything she perceives wrong with certain looks. Being a fellow student herself, the two also have study sessions, which are sometimes even successful with them not being distracted and making each other laugh by the end.

With her powers of empathy, even pre having them amplified by being a witch, Maggie could always tell when Karter was feeling insecure or whatever they were feeling at the time. Though, she never always pushed them on it, but was more subtle with her support. A quick hand squeeze, smile, or even just being more in their presence was sometimes enough. If it were a serious enough situation or gut feeling she got, she would gently confront Karter, offering an ear to listen, or to just stay in their presence. When she gets her powers, she’ll always ask permission to see how they feel, though will use her powers to send messages of encouragement or concern or reassurance to them. She, being interested in sex and romance herself, is also careful on making sure no one makes any advances on Karter and is quick to get them away from the person if they do. Especially if the person doesn’t take no for an answer.

Melanie and Karter Vera

Mel has always been a more background, but crucial, dynamic in Karter’s life. She always makes time for them if she is the one around and Maggie isn’t there, or if Maggie is busy and she has free time. She encourages Karter to be open however they like; clothing wise or other, and mental health with a journal she bought them, which they use sometimes. She goes to her many outlets for mental health support to try to help them and sometimes is able to persuade them to go on a march with her. This brings out their fighter side, and want for justice. Mel lights a fire within Karter which few see.

Mel’s time power allows for her to give the two time-outs when they need. This especially comes into play with studying, with her allowing herself a bit of rebellion by sometimes stopping time in lectures when getting an “SOS” message from Karter and helping them find the answer or just allowing for a breather on either side. Mel is also the first one Karter comes out to as Asexual and Aromantic. In response to the reveal, she hugs Karter. And asks for them to come along to LGBT meetings she has with groups, and they sometimes attend.

Macy Vaughn and Karter Vera

Macy and Karter meet when Macy arrives in Hilltowne. At first, despite a moment of mistrust as to Macy’s true intentions, Karter does find themselves trusting Macy when she storms out, outraged at Mel’s insinuations. They follow her and apologise for Mel’s behaviour. Macy thanks them for it but stays it’s not necessary. After accepting her role as a Charmed One and moving into the Manor, they grow closer. Karter is more trusting with Macy, which helps her out of her own shell. However, this can cause some miscommunication between the pair with understanding what parts of the small talk were secret that no one else had to know of, and otherwise.

Macy’s power of Telepathy is used as an ease of mind for the two. Despite Harry chiding them on their laziness, they both continue to do it. Macy’s smarts and knowledge of science can come into contact with Karter’s more free-flowing thoughts on the world (ghosts, things out of understanding, etc) though it never fully blows up.

Even in alternate dimensions, which Macy creates with the power of the Source, Karter is always her sibling within it, and always her closest one. She lashes out when the siblings and Harry try to help her be rid of the power, though doing so does knock her out of it for a moment. After the sisters disperse of the power, Macy apologises for lashing out, but Karter understands being hurt and trusts her with their chaotic life.

Harry Greenwood and Karter Vera

Harry and Karter’s friendship didn’t exactly start off the best. With Harry kidnapping them and their sisters after all. Despite this, Harry’s upbeat nature about the dark subject matter did make them warm up to him a bit. After that initial bump, they started to develop a friendship together. Karter asked Harry so many questions, which Harry was always pleased to answer. Though, Harry also sees Karter almost burning himself out a lot to try and make the others see his “worth” despite not having any powers (yet). He always tries to gently nudge them not to burn themselves out, and sometimes they head it and allow themselves a break, but not all the time. Still, Harry does what he can with his tea breaks.

He is also eternally grateful to Karter for attempting to save him from falling into Tarturus, even though he is then plagued with guilt for dragging them down with him. Karter doesn’t blame Harry though, as he is told that he is “family.” And though it does warm his heart, it does also worry him for his new friend and group of friends…

So @pilferingapples asked about Blorbos. Warning that this is probably going to get long, and also that this is a 100% OC zone. We've regressed to 10th grade apparently and it's all original fic all the time.

The short version is that there are two main sets of characters taking turns being rotated by my brain. There's the story I've been writing/meaning to write for probably 10 years now, and also a new one that's been in my brain for about three days and if anything happens to any of its characters I'm going to kill everyone and and then myself.

The first one is the old story. It's about a Prince who is culturally forbidden from touching anyone and his newly immigrated boyfriend who thinks this is an incredibly stupid rule. It is basically the ace pining story of my dreams and features a lot of Forbidden Hugs.

The new story is about a woman who is essentially a retired fantasy protagonist turned NPC shopkeep. She and her best friend/former adventuring partner run a second hand store that specializes in magical objects. She meets a kid (read: probably about 20) who is clearly in the Very Stressful No Fun part of his own fantasy adventure, and basically immediately adopts him and brings him home and feeds him soup. It is about friendship and community building and, apparently, knitting. I do not know how to knit. It has been interesting.

Forbidden Hugs story:

Like I said, this one has been floating through my brain for like a decade, so it's both better developed and filled with weird vestigial elements from the various times I've started writing it and stopped partway through. But the core premise is always the same, which is that in this fantasy country there are very strict rules governing physical contact and who is allowed to touch whom and when. The short version of these rules is that you're only allowed to touch someone who is not of your same exact rank/social class if you are actively having sex with them or if you are a doctor providing them with medical care. It's honestly usually not too much of a problem for most people -- normal people aren't super impacted, since most people they meet are going to be their same social class, and even among the nobility families tend to be large and the Kingdom has an expansive and very permissive definition of what counts as 'actively having sex'.

Unfortunately the Prince of this country is the only child of an emotionally distant father and is also Very Ace. Damien is Not About any Pants business of any kind for any reason, and honestly I think that's very sexy of him. He's also generally kind of stuck because he has what we in our world would call Rampant ADHD and is not good at things like paying attention in long meetings and remembering people he's only been introduced to once and making even medium stakes decisions, and as a result is really not excited about being King one day.

His future boyfriend Erik was raised in one of the neighboring countries and came to Damien's because his brother is a diplomat stationed there and Erik is recently out of school and wants out of his parents' house. Through some political maneuvering by his brother, Erik gets given the position of Prince's Companion, which is traditionally supposed to be the confidant and right hand to the heir but in modern times is basically a ceremonial position with no real influence. But it gives Erik something to do and pays well enough that he doesn't burn through all his savings getting fancy court clothes made up, and it also gives Damien someone in his life who doesn't particularly care that he's the Prince or want anything from him.

The story is structured as a romance, so it's mostly about them getting to know each other and figuring out what they actually want. Erik's country's modern history started with a King abdicating the throne and instituting a democracy to stave off a violent revolution, so Erik's perspective on the whole Damien becoming King thing is, "have you considered maybe just not doing that?" Erik is also of the opinion that Hugs Are Good, Actually, and the First Hug between them gets to play a starring role in the narrative.

Because it's such a longstanding entity in my brain there are loads of side characters and lore snippets, but the core of the story has always been Damien and Erik and their relationship. I love them very, very deeply and one of these days I will actually finish this story.

NPC Shopkeepers story:

Because this set of characters have existed for less than a week, I know much less about them and their world than I do about Damien and Erik, but I'm figuring them out with surprising rapidity given how out of practice I am at this.

The main character is a middle aged woman named Ellie, who spent her youth tangled up in so far undefined fantasy adventures with her best friend Alice. I'm pretty sure there were faeries involved, but I'm also fairly certain that the details won't get spelled out in the actual narrative ever. Now they've retired from that and become NPCs, but like NPCs in a tabletop RPG that the DM can throw at a situation when the party gets in over its head. Their shop attracts a lot of people working through their own fantasy plots, looking for magical items to help them out.

The relevant one of those for this story is a 20-ish-year-old currently going by Jay. He is very clearly in the middle of the No Fun Very Stressful part of a fantasy adventure, and Ellie almost immediately starts plotting to adopt him and feed him soup until he stops looking quite so desperately in need of a friend.

She eventually succeeds in her quest, and partway through a series of events leads to him moving in with her temporarily. This furthers her soup agenda but also puts her directly in the cross-hairs of his fantasy plot. He is very stressed out about this, and she is fairly chill about the possibility, and this stresses him out even more. Jay is not cut out to be a fantasy protagonist. Jay is a nerd who studied magical theory in college and had already been accepted into grad school and was planning to be a scientist for the rest of his life. Jay has asthma and a panic disorder. He is not having a good time. (He grudgingly admits that the soup helps.)

Eventually Jay's plot does catch up with them, but unfortunately for the plot Ellie and Alice are old hands at this kind of thing. The details of how the resolve the problem are still fairly vague, but I'll figure it out. They've been a lot of fun to play with, which is the important part here.

Top 10 tropes/cliches/trends that I'm sick and tired of!

In no particular order.

1. Get down!

Someone screams ''Get down!'' or ''Look out!'' but not everybody gets down. Most of the time it's fine. The characters don't have enough time to react and get hit with an attack or whatnot. What I am actually mad about is when characters have quite a lot of time to get out of the way and they're not distracted by anything yet just choose to just stand there and do nothing.

That also applies to whoever is screaming for them to watch out. You see your friend is in danger, you have an ability that can be useful, do something!

But the most infuriating iteration of that cliche is when they say a character's name before whatever they are screaming and it somehow makes anybody else unable to hear what they're talking about.

''Bob, the train is coming!''

‘’My name is Eric, not Bob. I guess I'll just stand on the track and not even acknowledge what I've heard.’’

Extra salt to the wound when the character can totally see what is coming or at least they should but the animators couldn't be bothered to keep track of who and what is where in relation to each other.

2. Meta

I fucking LOATHE this new trend where they make self referential humor to mock the earnestness of the old stories.

Can’t they just let us get immersed in the universe without having those “We know it’s cliché *wink wink*” Especially when they do nothing to deconstruct it, show it in a new light, have an interesting spin on it, nothing. They just point it out like in CinemaSins! And it's especially annoying when they're ''breaking the stereotypes'' which have been broken years ago.

‘’She's not like other girls/princesses! She fights, speaks her mind, and doesn't want to get married to someone she doesn't love at all.’‘

Wow, you broke new ground. It's not like princesses in the 90s were already independent, princes Leia was a badass in the 70s, and even the older princesses, Snow White, Cinderella, and Sleeping Beauty, get way too much hate. Go subvert the cliche which hasn't been used in years and replace it with this other cliche. There are adults and children today who haven't seen a legitimate, 100% helpless, damsel in distress. Seriously, at this point, I would've been more shocked if there was an actual romance in a Disney princess movie.

And they act so smug about it too. Do you want to talk about unwanted marriage? How about you talk about child brides right now? Because that would be actually controversial in those countries!

Just make a movie about a badass princess, nobody cares!

3. Squidward like character

Do you remember how in the bad episodes of Spongebob, Squidward would be just minding his own business, not harming anyone and then Patrick and Spongebob would just barge in and mess everything up. Squidward would straight up say that he wants them to leave but those two numskulls couldn't take a hint. The episode just ends with no consequence whatsoever for the people who made an innocent person's day a living nightmare.

This used to be everywhere! Seemingly every cartoon channel would at least have one cartoon like that if not more.

I guess the idea is that the children are supposed to relate to the annoying obnoxious little brats energetic and innocent little angels who just want to have fun with their parent/older sibling friend but he's being boring and doesn't know how to have fun.

How did the meme go? The older you get the more you relate to Squidward.

4. Why are you surprised by this?

Don't you just hate when a character doesn't know something that should've been common knowledge?

Ash not knowing pokemon can only say their own name, not knowing what contests are or whatever the gimmick for the season/game is.

People not knowing what mutants are or where to go when they find out they're a mutant.

I know shows and movies need to explain their lore and world building but can't you find a better way than creating that one moron character who asks all the basic questions and gets lectured and info dumped on. At least make them like Tarzan, raised in the jungle not knowing anything else about the world.

5. Super-let-down

When you have a team of superheroes one, if not the most, important and interesting part is their relationship and dynamic. Who's the parent of the team, who's the heart, who's the jokester? How do their superpowers mix, who needs to be careful to not hurt who, what combo moves they can pull off, how they cover each other weaknesses?

Wouldn't it be cool to see super villains do something like that? Guess what? They just argue all the time and when they fight they just get in each other's way. It's especially frustrating when they stop attacking the hero to fight each other. Even more so when the hero is egging them on by saying something along the lines ''Shouldn't you be the leader?'', ''Who's going to be the one to finish me off?'' or ''Are you going to let them treat you like that?'' It makes the villains look like complete idiots with the mentality of a kindergartner.

What a waste of a potentially great team!

Sinister six from the Spectacular Spider-Man is the closest to the satisfying villain team. Wish they had more screen time! They had great chemistry and their banter went above throwing insults at each other.

6. Too many supers in New York City

Since the MCU became big average people started to wonder, if all those superheroes exist in the same universe, then where were they when -insert huge event from a solo hero movie here- was going on.

At least DC has an excuse that pretty much every superhero has their own city to take care of.

It's especially outrages when you have the avengers, fantastic four, spider-man, and probably many others I can't remember right now leaving in the same city. What's also funny is when they meet and act as if they never heard of each other.

7. Stop with all the food!

Recently a lot of Disney movies and shows will have excessively long scenes of food making and I don't know why.

I know that movies that want to showcase some culture focus on the food too because it's part of the culture but come on. I don't want a tutorial on how to cook, put it on a DVD. Animators just want to flex how great they are at animating food, just like anime.

I know it's a weird thing to get hung up on but in a movie, every minute counts and the movie just wasted 1-5 minutes on food porn. Just put the food in the background, make it last a couple of seconds, or be part of the story.

8. Characters look never changes

I know characters always having the same clothes saves time and budget. Animators even make jokes/try to justify it by showing multiple versions of the same outfit.

It gets confusing when supposedly years have passed yet everybody looks the same. That's why I appreciate HTTYD. They let their characters grow up.

9.Did you switch bodies or voices?

I know that you want people to be able to tell who is in who’s body but vocal cords aka voice are part of the body and should stay in the body they belong to.

Change characters' posture, body language, way of speaking, etc.

But please don't change the eyes. It somehow makes even less sense and looks creepy.

10. Fight-cut-Scene

Do you ever see those fights when characters talk for a bit, throw a punch or kick, stop to talk some more, and again and again? Looking at you CW! Also, a massive amount of cutting to hide that the actors don't know how to fight and imitate speed. You know you can just show people being fast, right? Just because something or someone is out of the frame doesn't mean they stopped existing.

Oscar is not a fucking cheater.

I have herd complains on how he is a dick and such in the beginning, but for me he was a funny dick. He also gets really good development as the series goes on, he also loves Jimena like a fuck ton.

Even if he is greedy and money hungry he still clearly cares for the people in his life and is actually really grateful, like when he gave money too Leandro for his business and supported him.

THEN WHY DID THEY MAKE HIM CHEAT?!?!?!?!??! HE WOULD NEVER CHEAT, DID YOU NOT SEE THAT BOY WHEN HE WAS AWAY FROM JIMENA????? HE LOVES HER SO MUCH MORE THAN A ONE-NIGHT STAND. ALL THE REYEYS LOVE THEIR WIVES TO THE POINT THEY WOULD NEVER CHEAT ON THEM OR EVEN STARE AT ANOTHER WOMEN!!!!! THEIR LEGIT SO FUCKING LOYAL, UGH THIS PISSES ME OFF SO MUCH. DID THEY NOT KNOW WHAT TO DO WITH HIS AND JIMENA’S CHARACTER??????

2. The Twins are pretty funny (02)

No reason I just think the twins are pretty funny. They're assholes and perhaps murders but I find them pretty entertaining. There spoiled kids for sure and sorta freaky/weird for having a threesome with the same girl. But I find they really funny and actually way better than Juan David’s character! Who in bye next one-

3. Juan David Is a pretty boring/bad character

Maybe I just simply do not like that he is just a cheap version of Juan Reyes, or maybe because HE IS FUCKING A MOM AND HER DAUGHTER. He is suppose to be the leader of the family, the oldest of the second generation of the Reyes, his role is sorta suppose to be mentoring his siblings and younger cousins while also growing alongside them. But he as much depth to him a slice cheese sandwich. They could have put him as being stressed for being the oldest, having to be like his father and be mature and shit. Oldest child syndrome or something idk I just really don’t fucking like his character I think its a waste.

4. Franco’s Absence(?)

Okay he is kidnapped or something, idk I didn’t go that far cause I felt like episodes started to get worst as it went on and that the actor was busy with his own shit but what I didn’t like was how the characters reacted to it. I feel like it is a trend were they see the worst in Franco due to misunderstandings but this one pisses me off.

The brother Reyes just accepted that he left the family???? In the beginning of the series ever since Libra died both Oscar and Juan are quite a bit protective of Franco, hell their really protective towards each other! The Reyes I know would not accept one of them being missing after all the shit they went through and having the many enemies they do. They also know he really loves Sarita, and probably his kids. But then they really accept his absence?!?!

Also when did he leave? His kids seem to know nothing about them.

Though the clips of him coming back and him and Sarita is really comforting and cute, got I hate how they treated this adorable couple.

5. Gabriela Is Done Dirty.

Like wtf, why is she still the worst? Where did the character development go!?!?!??!??!?! I hate that they made her into a villain again.

Tho I do like and hate how they still kept her as the same villain, how they kept she was sorta sexism towards her daughters in the beginning kept happening with Gaby. Her traditionalist ideals harming the people she suppose loves, but idk.

6. Andres’s Treatment as LGBTQ+ Character With His Love Interest

I just herd of the spoilers so take this from a grain of salt, so I am unsure if this is totally accurate or not.

So apparently Andres got with an older man and that is just a really fucking stupid trope in novelas I really hate. To make things interesting the young gay character has to be with an older man character? I hate that LGBTQ characters need some sorta of taboo instead of having a normal romance like the straight parings.

I do actually really like Andres tho, he is likable character and is like a passive but more confident Franco.

Leandro was one of my favorite characters in the original and though that even if his is the stereotype gay man, he was a great character all the round and was super funny. I think he is pretty decent rep for the time.

So I am sorta disappointed with the rep with Andres with his love interest, overall though he is alright. (Also for anyone still watching is Juan still homophobic? Like in the original he is canonically homophobic and Franco is more or less not with the Oscar scene but idk.

Also random but I love the scene so much It makes me laugh a lot.)

7. Family means nothing in 02.

The whole thing with the first season was about family, how your suppose to be together no matter what and support even with each other downfalls. The brother even after everything loved each other and care so much, the same goes with the sisters.

The second gen of Reyes fucking do not like each other. I saw the pictures of Gaby and Andres saying they don’t care for the twins, the twins fighting the older brother constantly, Juan David sorta looking like he thinks with more with his dick, so on so forth. The fights between the brother and sisters still had some sort of love towards them and they still protect each other. I feel no familiar connection towards these fuckers and I hate it. If these guys went poor like Juan, Oscar, Franco or deal with a force like Fernando like how the sisters did, I think they would have actually killed each other among themselves.

8. Villains suck.

I cannot actually name any of them currently but they are so not iconic like in the first season.

That is just a simple fact, enough said.

9. No good Ships

I hate the Juan David with Rosario I hate Juan David with Muriel (she could so MUCH better)

I hate Andres with the older dude.

Gaby with her boyfriend is eh, the dude is just not interesting.

Norma and Juan are still bland as ever.

Oscar would NEVER CHEAT ON JIMENA.

THEY DEPRIVED US OF SARAIT AND FRANCO AND I CANNOT FORGIVE THEM FOR THAT

The friendship with Andres and Muriel is pretty good I guess.

(Glad they stopped the Juan David love triangle with Andres tho)

10. The Plot Is just overall a mess and Where are the other characters?

The plot lines in the original were connected, in this one it is just all over the place.

WHO CHEATED ON WHO? WHO GOT KIDNAPPED? WHO IS THIS CREEP?

And I know that some actors couldn't come on the show again but fuck man, I miss Eva. I also thought their uncle would stay in contact at least? What about Ruth and Benito? The two brothers and their family who own the grocery store?What about my queen pepita? I know they brought back Panchita with a different actress but they just completely butchered her character, what ever happened to her being the voice of reason?

Rip Sebastian Boscán, his life was taken away too soon.
