A stroke of luck
Here is a short story I wrote instead of a drabble. Please be kind (it’s been a while since I wrote in 1st person):
taglist: @kaidasen, @m0nstergeneration20xx, @oikawaandkuroostan, @smolbludandelions
Notes: a different hc/mini-hc will happen about natsu and “ono-sama” on a different date later in the summer.
this takes place a little after the first loss to seijoh and the tokyo training art is a few weeks away. a practice match is set up with nekoma due to takeda and ukai’s swift thinking.
Begin here ::points down::
_________________________________________________________
“Oi! Natsu-chan! Wait for me!” I called out to the younger of the Hinata siblings as she scurried off around the corner. I received a text from her mother asking if I could babysit tonight since her son had evening club practice and since my house wasn’t too far from theirs, I humbly agreed. Afterall, I loved little Natsu. Her energy was quite like her brother’s. However, this is not a story about Shoyo’s antics with the club. Today was going to be a “princess day,” as dubbed by Natsu when she came to visit the Karasuno campus. I had explained to her on our walk over that I had left my lunch box behind in my last class, which was photoprahy. The darkroom was located close to the gym where the boy’s volleyball club was in the middle of practice. I literally turned around for one second in the darkroom when I noticed that Natsu had wondered off.
I didn’t really panic though when I heard her voice cry out, “Niii-chaaaaan!”
Oh shit. I came jogging up to the corridor and I thought I was going to lay my eyes on a teary eyed Natsu. I tried to think of viable excuses as to what Hinata’s mother, yet although I believe she would of expected something of the sort to happen eventually because as they say, “the apples don’t fall far from the tree.”
Thankfully that wasn’t the case, but I observed that Takeda-sensei was looking in my general direction along with the other coach. My lunch box was still in my hands when I heard Natsu call my name since the boys were also not alone that day. There was another club with them today. Unmistakably clad in the colors of red, white, and black; then deja vu threw my memory back a bit since Hinata mentioned he made a new friend. The battle of trash heap was real and apparently the visiting team today was from Nekoma. Upon closer inspection of the kanji and western alphabet on the side of their track jackets strewn across several of the bleachers, at least that was what I had deduced.
“Natsu-chan? What are you doing here? Wait,” Natsu was scooped up by her brother, who was in a state of confused surprise. “Was I supposed to pick you up today?”
Natsu just giggled and babbled on with sounds of delight of seeing her brother and his team again mid-practice.
“Hinata-kun... Umm... W-Who’s this?”
I heard one of the managers say. She was an adorable blonde first year as well. I recognized her because although I may have been in my third year, I noticed her around campus with Shizumi-san. Shizumi-san and I shared a class or two this year, so it honestly didn’t surprise me to see them all there and now both teams surrounded the sunshine children. I was eerily quiet, witnessing this interaction was for more appealing than retrieving my bento successfully.
“I’m Hinata Natsu!” she was so eager when she smiled. Her tiny thumb jutted outward as she pointed to her puffed out chest.
I walked toward the group with my hand behind my neck while I glanced at Daichi and the rooster haired boy who towered slightly over him. Judging that they were side by side and didn’t really notice my arrival, they were startled when my cleared my throat with a smirk curing my upper lip higher.
“Fearless this one, that’s for sure,” I said. My voice had a joking tone. As soon as my voice broke through the huddle of volleyball players, I laughed nervously before bowing apologetically, hiding my lunch box behind my back.
“Ono-sama!” Natsu exclaimed with a wave.
“Sorry for the interruption,” I stated as soon as I stood up. “I left my lunch bento in the darkroom earlier today and I was supposed to be watching over Natsu today Sho-kun. I guess she heard the game going on here and wandered in.”
Natsu was placed on the ground with a soft thud of her shoes before she took a hold of my hand. I brushed my long hair behind my ear glancing at the captains. Takeda-sensei told me it was ok since Natsu was a family member, since life tends to throw curveballs literally; and all was forgiven. Even Nekoma’s coach was chuckling since the score was still in the single digits of the second set. Apparently, the old man appreciated seeing just how close the bonds of siblings can play in shaping the mindsets of any athlete.
Now that all eyes and the excitement of this cute distraction took place, I felt Natsu squeeze my hand gently. She usually does this when she felt inadverntly shy around new people. I guess having Nekoma here for a practice match really sunk in.
“You’re gorgeous,” I heard one of the Nekoma players say. The voice belonged to the rooster haired boy. He was bold, but I saw the looks what I would assume his vice captain with a pudding styled hair gave him (slightly to severely annoyed). I noticed how he eyed me too after the fact Natsu greeted me formally. My instinct was to not give into such comments about my physical appearance as much, but it’d be foolish of me to not humour myself (and those present).
“Ono-sama! He’s really prince-like. Say something!” Natsu whispered loudly. Earning her a quirked brow from me as well as a few amused looks from the crows on my side. Upon further inspection, I was able to read the room. The boys were itching to go back to practice, especially the first years. I winked at Natsu and brought a finger to my lips.
“We’re supposed to be princesses today little one,” I said, chuckling letting the others know the game Natsu was wanting to play, hence my formal name.
“Woah, she even laughs prettily,” I heard him whisper.
“Kuroo, you’re embarrassing us,” his cohort with pudding hair said.
“Back off, she’s ours!” Noya exclaimed. Tanaka nodded. Those two jumped in the space between myself at the captain of the visiting team. Daichi shot his underclassmen a glare which froze those two in their place.
“Well, we ought to go now, Natsu. Seems like your brother and his friends have a score to settle,” I stated in a matter of fact tone. “Oh, and Kuroo, was it?” I walked straight toward his team after giving Natsu my lunch bento to hold.
“Y-yeah?”
“Ever wonder what it’s like to witness a murder, kitty cat?” My voice was menacing at best, but my eyes had a mischievous glint in them. “Because I believe you will one day. I look forward to seeing an official match. Until then, see you.”
He backed up a little bit. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw the foreboding shadows of the crows’ behind me. They were a lot stronger together than they were apart (one of my classmates asked me to come along to one of their games in Sendai city a few weeks ago and I recall saying this to her). Anyways, that didn’t stop me from walking back toward Daichi and Koushi before pressing a kiss for luck on both of their cheeks which caused them to briefly short circuit.
“Good luck boys,” there was a smile in my voice amidst the hollering of their teammates. “Come along Natsu, we can’t reschedule the tea party with the royal guards again.”
A few steps were taken before I felt a tug on my sleeve. Natsu and I were almost at the front side gate of Karasuno when her curiosity got the better of her:
“O-ok Ono! Wait, what’s a ‘murder’?”

What are your headcanon for the twins?
I don't have many, but here's a few off the top of my head:
Shutora is older by 2 minutes.  She often likes to rub it in her brother's face.
They're called trouble twins for a reason.  They're literally the biggest troublemakers in the guild and a handful to everyone. Whoever gets saddled with babysitting them while their parents are on a mission is in for a disaster.
The two are quite the polar opposites. Yaje is the calmer, more sensible one but more prone to crying, while shutora is the cheerful, loud one of the two, and much more impulsive. (//watch this headcanon crumble down as soon as/if we get to see the twins at the end of 100YQ 😂)
Bizarrely enough the twins love Gajeel's singing.  Much to poor Levy's dismay 😂
They actually grow up to be taller than Levy. Poor Levy x2 😂
They call Lucy "auntie Lu-chan" and Natsu "uncle Salamander".
They both love books (no surprises here) and listening to their parents' stories.
(based on the light novel) Yaje laughs the same way Gajeel does! With the 'gihihi' sound.
Their first word was "Lily". (//I actually have a comic based on this I want to redraw)

I was wondering if you could please write Kagehina with Kags taking care of Hinata's little sister, Natsu, and Hinata not knowing this until he walks in on the situation? The situation of which it occurs can be very liberal and up to what you wish. Please and Thank you!!! I hope you have a lovely day/night. ❤
Aww, this request was so adorable!!!
Kageyama Tobio did not like kids. Period.
In fact, kids didn't like him either. Period.
Every time he'd been asked to babysit someone, it had ended in disaster. He remembered once that he'd babysitted his little cousin and the end was indeed quite dangerous.
The kitchen was on fire. The curtains were shredded. The books were shredded. The neighbors were complaining. His cousin was crying. He was crying. Overall, it was a humongous mess.
So, he was indeed dismayed to hear that Hinata Natsu was at home with her mother while Shouyo wasn't.
Mrs. Hinata was warm as usual, "Tobio-kun!" She cried, "Come in, come in!X before he could protest he'd been shoved inside. "I'm afraid Shouyo isn't home now," she said,"But judging by your time of arrival, I guess you'll be staying the night!" She said excitedly. Tobio didn't plan on staying the night. He was just passing by and a decided to say hi to his newly declared boyfriend.
Now, one might ask, what Tobio was doing in Hinata's neighborhood.
To be honest, Tobio himself didn't know. He just walked listlessly and somehow his legs carried him to the orange ball of sunshine's home. Curse his stupid legs!
Mrs. Hinata smiled, "Tobio-kun, I am very sorry to ask this of you. But I have a night shift today," she said, "I'm guessing Shouyo's going to be a bit late," she said, "Is it okay if I leave Natsu to you for a few hours?" She said, the request in her voice evident. And Tobio couldn't bring himself to say no despite knowing that the house might get destroyed under specified conditions.
"Yes, Hinata-san!"
Mrs. Hinata smiled brightly, "Thank you, dear!" She cried, "Natsu isn't too much trouble usually," she explained, "And Shouyo should be back in around three hours. Hope you'll be alright?" Kageyama Tobio nodded, thoroughly regretting his decisions. She looked all ready to go outside. And all she needed was some assurance from her son's "friend".
"Food's in the fridge," she said as she rushed to the door, "You can heat it up if you're hungry!"
Tobio didn't mind being trusted with someone else's house. Especially since he'd been here a thousand times since their first. Now, in their third year at Karasuno, Hinata's house was almost his second home. But the only thing he feared was…
"Tobio-oniisan!"
Tobio froze. He turned very mechanically towards the young girl who threw herself at him, wrapping her arms comfortably around his leg. He awkwardly patted her head. Mrs. Hinata smiled as she opened the door, "Natsu," she said, "You'll be staying with Tobio-kun for a while. Till Shouyo comes back. Please be good." Natsu nodded eagerly as if she couldn't wait for her Mom to leave. Tobio felt cold dread trickle down his back. He envied Sugawara-san who was excellent with kids and actually worked as a teacher. He envied Oikawa who could successfully handle his nephew all alone. He envied his boyfriend who's bright smile was infectious to any kid.
And as the door closed, Tobio prayed fervently for everything to go smoothly.
"Oniisan, will you play with me?"
Tobio didn't know how to politely decline the girl's request. So, extremely unwillingly, he agreed.
And to be honest…. It wasn't so bad.
Natsu wasn't a very troublesome child.
She didn't scream, shout or force Tobio to play dress-up. At once he knew that Shouyo had drawn the shorter stick when it came to maturity.
Natsu pulled him along to play blocks. He piggybacked her around the house for quite some time as well. He was made to sit as priest as she married off two of her dolls. She also offered him his beloved milk. (She looked really surprised that someone readily drank her milk)
Within two hours, both of them were exhausted. Exhausted but also very, very satisfied. Natsu grinned brightly at Tobio, "Tobio-Oniisan is the best!" She announced, making Tobio feel a funny sense of pride. Yes! He'd won against Hinata when it came to looking after kids.
That was 876 wins and 874 losses for him. Yes!
***
Shouyo sighed.
It was quite late. He felt guilty, holding his mother up from her work. He was old enough to understand that being late to work wasn't appreciated.
He pulled out the key to the door before wordlessly, unlocking it, "Mom!" He called, "I'm home." As he untied the laces of his shoes, he was surprised by the lack of response. He jogged in, "Mom? Nat-chan?"
Only to be taken by surprise by the cutest scene he'd ever seen.
Tobio lay on the ground, beside the tea table, cheek squished against the floor, soft snores emitting from his mouth which hung open as he drooled all over. Natsu lay over the older boy's belly, completely sprawled and fast asleep.
Shouyo smiled brightly.
He gently tiptoed over to the place before Tobio's head. He pressed his lips to the boy's cheeks, enjoying how the boy's cheeks were all wet.
What he didn't expect was Tobio's navy blue orbs to flutter open at the touch.
Shouyo smiled, "You were looking after Nat-chan?" He whispered, "Are you staying the night?" Despite the volume being low, his tone sounded excited. Tobio smiled back before nodding. Shouyo kissed his cheek again, "Thanks for looking after Nat-chan!" He said, trying to keep his voice low, so as to not wake up Natsu.
Tobio shook his head, "It's nothing. Everyone looks after their friend's younger siblings every now and then," he said. Shouyo smirked, "You're wrong in your statement," he said in a mock cold manner, "We aren't friends."
Tobio frowned, "What-"
His words were cut off as Shouyo pressed his lips to Tobio's.
"We're more than friends."

♡ Hide and seek in the dark [hcs]

Tumblr media
The two of you happen to be childhood friends seeing as you grew up just next door to him for most of your life- though, eventually you did become something more during your early months of high school.
Anyway, on this particular evening Hinata’s parents decided to go on a date night, leaving him and Natsu on their own for awhile, and while this isn’t exactly the first time Hinata’s been left to babysit his younger sister on his own, his parents are still a little nervous- especially after the incident with the neighborhood dogs and a box of ham.
As a result they ask you to come over, just to check in and make sure the house hasn’t burned down, though they don’t mind you staying over for a while, much to Hinata’s delight.
Though at one point in the night you began playing games with the two, as to assure the house wouldn’t burn down at the expense of their boredom.
That’s what led to hide and seek, but Hinata being Hinata decided to spice it up a bit, and turned off the lights.
But the dumb made himself panic and couldn’t find a hiding spot so he ended up following you.
So that’s how the two of you find yourself in a tiny hallway closet huddled together in fear of your life as Natsu patters just outside the door. Her little giggles turning the once playful atmosphere eerie and downright terrifying.
“Onii-chan~”
“I don’t wanna die”
“-Sho she’s 10…”
You’re scared and cramped, and Hinata’s knees are digging into your ribs.
Next time you would have to make sure you either a. Hide before he notices you, or b. Kick him out of your spot if  he decides to follow you again.
“I really don’t understand how you couldn’t find another hiding spot in your own house.”
“I  panicked”
But the thought disappears as Natsu’s voice grows closer. He was undoubtedly a little too loud to just go unnoticed.
“I found you~”
You would never do this again… But you would be lying if you said you didn’t have fun.
Tumblr media
It was a Friday night after school when you went over to Kuroo’s house, the two of you planned a much needed movie night filled with snacks and cuddling, something that both of you have been craving, but not being able to actually do because of busy schedules.
You’re in the middle of Mulan when suddenly the power shuts off leaving the two of you in the dark living room questioning what the heck just happened.
“Hey babe- you’re a girl worth fighting for” *insert awful wink*
"y/n I'm a dude- but damn right I am” *insert another awful wink*
Kuroo decides to check the circuit breaker, but when he comes back it turns out the whole neighborhood is out, with confirmation from Kenma who sent a text about the lights in his house going out.
It’s a bit of a bummer, and Kuroo expresses his slight disappointment with a small pout, but being as quick as he is, gets over it through suggesting you play games instead.
At first you’re a little apprehensive, because what game can you play in pitch darkness? To which Kuroo proposes hide and seek in the dark.
“I don’t know Tetsu…”
“Come on y/n it’ll be so much fun~”
Turns out he was right, you honestly didn’t think you’d have as much fun as you were having, sure games were fun, but as you grew older you didn’t really play them like how you did when you were young.
By the fourth round, it’s Kuroo’s turn to hide, leaving you to search for the scheming beanstalk who is surprisingly really good at hiding in small spaces despite his tall height and not so tiny build.
About 15 minutes into the round you end up wandering into his room on the hunch that he is indeed in there somewhere.
Though unbeknownst to you there is a small table set out in the middle of the room- something Kuroo had gotten recently because he finds sitting on the floor to study more comfortable than his desk. And as a result you trip over it, landing on the floor with a harsh thud and a curse.
At first Kuroo thought it was a plan to lure him out of his hiding spot, but when he hears the small whimper this is his name, the game is immediately forgotten and he’s by your side in seconds.
“Tetsu…”
“Let’s take a look at that okay?”
Luckily there were no cuts, but there was a small bruise much to his and your dismay. But as an athlete he has learned to stock up on ice-pads and other first aid supplies.
“You’re so clumsy kitten.”
“I’m sorry I can’t see in the dark”
“It’s okay I’m a professional now.”
“Reading off of MayoClinic doesn’t make you a professional Tetsu…”
For the remainder of the night the two of you cuddle in his bed, talking about everything and anything until you fall asleep.
“Where were you hiding?”
“Under the bed.”
Tumblr media
Today was one of the many days in which Ushijima was the last to leave the gym from practice, even Satori had left quite a while ago, heading back to their shared dorm leaving you and Ushijima alone.
Ushijima had told you previously that you didn’t need to wait on him, but with how busy the both of you were all the time, you would take any chance you could get to spend time with him and vice versa.
By the time the sun has long disappeared in the horizon, Ushijima has just barely finished his solo practice. But it’s then you hear it, the loud crash of thunder and the flash of lightning.
It’s pouring and freezing when he finally cleans up the remnants of things that have been left out from his practice.
However, despite being finished and the gym being clean neither one of you wished to leave, not wanting to catch a cold in the storm that’s raging on. So you opt to wait it out a little, just to see if it’ll get better.
In the meantime though you suggest entertaining yourselves with some games- and to your surprise Ushijima agrees.
“Toshi let’s play a game while we wait.”
“I suppose that’ll be alright.”
“Really?”
“I don’t see why not.”
“( ⊙0⊙ )"
And so you start off with hide and seek in the dark- Not wanting to get your ass kicked at tag or some other game where he’d dominate.
After turning the lights of and counting to ten, you turn around and find that the gym is empty, only lit by the light of the lamp posts just outside the doors.
And despite the wide open space he is nowhere to be seen, almost like he just disappeared.
But nonetheless you are determined to find farmer boy, because this was one game you were not willing to lose.
At least that’s what you told yourself at the beginning, but after like 20 minutes of looking you’re tired and confused as to how this giant tree is able to hide when there is essentially nowhere to hide.
So as you sit on the floor in the middle of the gym wondering where the hell Ushiwaka went, or maybe if he just left you a pair of arms wrap around you, and you’re so accustomed to the warmth that you know it’s him.
“The rain has stopped.”
“I guess it has…”
However, in the end you’re still confused as to how he was so good- something you’d have to discuss with him later because the rain has finally let up.
“Where-”
“In the corner, you walked by me three times.”
“-Wha…”
He kinda just shrugs.
And as you leave the gym opting for the much warmer dorms, you cling to Ushijima, still completely boggled by the fact that he was in a corner this entire time. The thought on your mind even as you crawl into his bed for late night cuddles
“Don’t worry y/n, perhaps better luck next time.”
Tumblr media
Despite Sugawara’s role as “mom friend” he too voluntarily contributes to chaos amongst the Karasuno volleyball club.
And how the whole team ended up in the middle of a park at the end of a Friday after school running around in the dark will be something that will remain unknown to everyone except Sugawara Koushi (who was the cause of all of this in favor of team bonding)
Not even you could see this coming despite knowing Sugawara like the back of your hand.
But here you are now hiding in a tube meant for little children as the third year boys search for the rest of the team.
You have no idea where anyone else is, but the high pitched screams of Hinata soon followed by Yachi assure you that they are definitely still close by
This ultimately adds to your panic because you know- you just know that Sugawara is targeting you.
And the gentle tap against the plastic tube seems to confirm your suspicions.
A faint whisper of your name has you clasping a hand over your mouth to suppress any possible noises, because you refused to lose to him.
“y/n- chan~”
“Goawaygoawaygoaway”
He’s here… And he’s playing mind games with you.
Your mind is torn in half, a part of you saying you should try to get out, and book it to a new hiding spot, and the other telling you that maybe he doesn’t know you’re in the tube necessarily and this is all just to bait you out.
Sugawara is smart- something you’ve learned to not underestimate, and he knows what he’s doing. So as a result you decide to stay put, hoping that he would leave you alone.
Boy were you wrong… At one end of the tunnel there was a slide, and what you didn’t expect was a hand to grab your ankle, forcefully pulling you down the slide (but, of course he’s careful not to hurt you) as evil laughter and your scream of terror rips through the air.
“I found you!”
“Oh my god Koushi!”
Needless to say, Sugawara found you, and in the process nearly gave you a heart attack (however, he does in fact apologize with buying you snacks and giving you all the cuddles you wanted)
“I think y/n-senpai just died…”
Sugawara Koushi is indeed a devil with the face of an angel’
“I can’t believe such an angel-like face belongs to a devil like you…”
“Aw~ You know you love me!”
“I guess... (;¬_¬)”

Omg, this is so cutee. Here ya go, gamer <3
Karasuno
Tumblr media
It all started with Hinata taking Natsu to his practice, because his mother had an unexpected meeting
He didn’t stop whining, because Natsu was going to ruin  “HiS tRaInIng”
But anyways, everyone in Karasuno couldn’t stop babying her and can you blame them?!
“YOU LOOK EXACTLY LIKE SHOYOU, BUT LIKE SMALLER”
Nishinoya and Tanaka are like the really existed uncles that gave you a mayonnaise for Christmas. They can’t stop screaming and shouting daichi shuts them up
“Hey, aren’t you the one that onii-chan always talks about”
Kageyama is confused. Why is the kiddo staring at him
“Onii-chan said to me that the only thing you do is insult and act like an egotistical idiot”
1
2
3
“HINATA BOKE”
Kageyama is fighting Hinata, while Suga is teaching Natsu how to set
Suga=best big brother
But really, I feel like Suga is the big brother we all need
In the time being, Daichi is taking care of Hinata and Kageyama they dead inside after it ngl
Tsukishima is laughing at their stupidity. You want him to help? Pff, no
Yamaguchi is right beside Tsuki and is trying to laugh as well he wants to help so bad, but Tsuki-
Asahi is really scared. He is going around the gym and tries to help.
Well, he doesn't help at all, but look at him, he is trying his best, okay?
At the end we have Natsu who wants Suga to be her big brother, Kageyama who don’t know what even happened, Nishinoya and Tanaka with tape on their mouths don’t you dare look at Ennoshita, tired Daichi and Hinata who is suffering
Inarizaki
Tumblr media
A catostrophy
Like who in their right mind would give a kid to these idiots
Yeah, they will take care of it but….but
......................................
Their coach needed someone to babysit his grandson for hour or two. It isn’t that hard, is it?
“I hate you” *sob* *sob*
The kid is crying, because no one says YOU ARE A SCRUB TO A LITTLE KID, ATSUMU
Osamu is there to help. I mean help Atsumu’s brain to function properly with strong shocks
Aran is silently panicking in the corner
Kita is still in the grocery store for milk
Suna is trying to post some of the pictures he did of Atsumu crying, but-
“Can you play with me, please”
Oh,no
Suna gives me the vibes of someone who hates little kids, but for some reason all of the kids love him
Now he hates the kids and his life great
Akagi is just done. Like done done, he will go help Kita with the milk
Osamu is still bea- I mean helping Atsumu.
Suna is showing the kid embarrassing pictures of Atsumu and Aran is still in the corner poor Aran, these jerks will be the end of him
The only thing that I will say is that you shouldn’t pay Inarizaki to babysit your kid, YOU SHOULD PAY SOMEONE TO BABYSIT THEM
As for Gin and Omimi, they didn't even show up. Deep down they knew what will happen. Your shit is not their shit

Chapter 17
Come Here!
Mira sat Nashi in one of the guild's booths before grabbing a tray stacked with booze-filled mugs. She carried it with such skill and grace, making it look easy to balance all of the cups without spilling an ounce of liquid. She had offered to watch Nashi at the guild so that Lucy and Natsu could both go on a job with the rest of their team.
Watching Nashi was easy for her. Not only did her cooking manage to sedate her when she was crying her lungs out, her magic also managed to amaze her. Cana had told her that Nashi wasn't quiet in awe, and that she was quiet out of fear thanks to her Satan Soul causing a shiver to run down anyone unlucky enough to be close by. The girl dismissed her. Her magic wasn't scary. It was impressive!
After handing everyone their orders, Mira made her way back to Nashi, who was munching happily on chicken- Mira had removed the bone to make sure the child wouldn't choke. Mira would never forget the day Nashi was old enough to consume normal food. Natsu and Lucy had busted inside the guild, ordering one of everything. Tears were streaming down their faces, glad to finally be able to eat anything other than mashed potatoes.
Nashi was growing up right before everyone's eyes. They were scared that if they blinked, Nashi would turn into a full-sized adult. Instead of needing to be put in a highchair, she could sit in normal seats. She didn't need her head to be supported anymore because she could do it herself, she knew how to stand, and she could finally eat solid food thanks to the tiny, sharp teeth that she now had. She had even hinted at taking her first step. It hadn't happened yet, but it was sure to happen soon.
Nashi was a pink-headed ball of curiosity, constantly crawling around and exploring her surroundings. At the guild, she and the twins were always traveling together. They would wait for her to catch up while she faithfully crawled after them.
Mira glanced at Nashi in the corner of her eye to make sure she wasn't venturing off to places she shouldn't be. Last time, she nearly crawled right out the door.
"It's so crazy to think that Natsu and Lucy have a kid now," Cana said, grabbing the girl's attention.
"You think so?" Mira asked, a pleasant smile forming over her face. "I knew they would get together from the start."
"Well yeah, we all did. Hell, remember the betting pool we had for them? I just meant that it's weird how much time has passed. We were all just kids before, and now some of us are raising our own!"
"What about you? When are you going to settle down and start a family?"
Cana gave a face-splitting grin and lifted her booze. "Never! That just ain't me, you know that. I don't wanna settle down or nothing. I'd rather be the cool aunt that slips these kids some booze behind their parents' back when they wanna party or something. What about you? You don't strike me as the typa girl who doesn't want kids."
Mira shrugged. "I wouldn't mind if it happened, but I'm not actively planning for it either. I think after raising Lisanna and Elfman, I did my fair share. Besides, babysitting my OTP's kid is enough for me! Nashi is proof that I finally managed to get them together!"
Speaking of Nashi, Mira glanced towards the child again. She was sitting with the Jutla and Yajee, all the while babbling words that nobody could understand. It would take a while longer before she would be able to say her first real word.
As Yajee left the table, Jutla followed closely behind. The two always shadowed each other and were never found without their counterpart. Nashi's mouth parted before she carefully climbed off the booth. Wobbling unsteadily, the child got down on all fours and crawled after them.
However, the twins were moving too fast for her to catch up. Releasing a frustrated noise, Nashi stood back up on her feet. She swayed as if she was going to fall over, but she managed to keep balanced.
Mira's eyes went wide at the scene.
"I think Nashi's about to take her first step!" she exclaimed. At this, the entire guild stopped what they were doing and whirled their heads to find the child shakily lift her right foot.
"Oh no! Lu-chan and Natsu aren't here! They're going to miss it!" Levy said with a frown.
"Do we stop her then?" Cana questioned.
But it was too late. Right in front of their eyes, Nashi swung her foot forward and took her very first step. The guild roared with cheers, nearly scaring her enough to make her fall back on her bum. After the first step, she went for another.
"Oh my gosh, she's doing it!" Levy said. "Good job, Nashi!"
"Come here, Nashi!" Mira exclaimed, holding her arms out in front of her. Nashi glanced towards her, lifting her foot to take another step when someone else shouted.
"No, come here!" Cana said.
Rerouting directions, Nashi took a step towards the brunette.
"No fair! I want her to walk to me!" Macao protested. "Come here, Nashi! Come on!"
And with that, war had begun.
"She's gonna come to me!" Cana shouted. "Just watch!"
Levy furrowed her brows and shot back, "No, she's going to come to me!"
"You know what this calls for?"
"Betting pool!" everyone shouted in unison. They threw together a large sum of money before they resumed beckoning towards Nashi.
"I bet she'll choose me," Cana said, a wide grin on her face.
"No, she will come to Juvia!" the blue-headed girl replied. "Nashi spends much more time with Juvia!"
"Well she spends even more time with me!" Levy argued.
Mira flashed them all a smile. "There's no point in trying. She'll come to me."
"What makes you say that?"
"Because she's got Natsu's genes in her, and if there's one thing Natsu loves almost as much as he loves his family, it's food. I am the one who feeds Nashi."
Everyone else shared a worried glance. She had a point. Nashi may not have even been a year old, but her appetite rivaled those of Fiore's championship eaters who competed in shoveling large amounts of food down their gullets. It didn't help that Mira's food was to die for.
"Come to your Aunt Mira," the woman calmly said. She knew there was no way she could lose. Sure, Levy may have spent more time with her, but food was the way to the child's heart.
Sure enough, Nashi tilted her head to the side before taking a wobbly step towards her.
"No fair!" Cana shouted. "You're the babysitter! You can't be part of the bet!"
"Says who?" Mira replied. She crouched down to Nashi's level, wiggling her fingers in an attempt to make the child go faster and end their bet already.
Everyone groaned, watching as Nashi took step after step towards the take-over mage. Curse her and her insane cooking abilities.
Just as Nashi was right within reach, the grand doors to the guild swung open, revealing Team Natsu.
Natsu roared his typical greeting as they all entered. Immediately, their eyes landed on the large pile of money that sat on one of the tables. They then looked at all of the adults in the guild crouched down with their arms held in front of them. Then, their gazes traveled to where Nashi stood with one leg dangling in the air as if she was going to take a step.
Lucy pushed Natsu out of her way as she took a step closer towards Nashi.
"Wait! Is Nashi walking!?" she shouted. "Tell me we didn't miss her first step!"
"Sorry, Lu-chan," Levy replied, followed by an awkward chuckle. "If it makes you feel better, Nashi is really good at walking!"
Natsu and Lucy fell to the ground, their faces pale.
"I can't believe we missed it!" Natsu cried, tears flowing down his cheeks.
"We'll never get to see that moment!" Lucy joined in. Before she could really start the waterworks, her eyes darted to the pile of money again. Then it hit her. "Wait a second, are you all betting on something?"
The guild froze, sweat dripping down their foreheads.
"N-No! Of course not!" Macao answered.
"He's lying," Natsu said. "His heartbeat is going crazy. What's the bet this time? Who're you guys tryin' to get together?"
"That's not it," Lucy replied, her brows furrowing. "They're betting on who Nashi is going to walk to!"
"Oh, I want in on this," Gray said, tossing some jewels to the pile. Holding his hands out in front of him, he created a Happy-shaped ice cube. "Come to your Uncle Gray, Nashi! Remember how I always babysit you? Time to return the favor!"
Erza cleared her throat before casually placing some of her own money in the pile. She hadn't spent as much time with Nashi as Gray had, but she'd be damned if she lost a competition of any kind.
"Nashi," she called out, her voice stern. "Come."
Before Lucy could protest, a light appeared out of nowhere as Loke stepped through his gate on his own accord.
"Hey, Lucy. Don't mind me, just joining this bet really quick," he said. At her bewildered look, he held his hands up in surrender. "Can you blame me? It's easy money! Nashi loves me. Besides, I'm the lion spirit with cat ears, kids can't resist!"
"Will you guys quit betting on our family!?" Lucy demanded, planting her hands on her hips.
"Yeah!" Natsu chimed in. "Besides, we're the ones who're gonna win this bet!"
"Huh?" Lucy watched as Natsu threw all of their earnings from the job they just returned from into the pile. "Natsu! That's all of our money!"
"Exactly!" the pink-headed boy replied, a toothy grin stretching over his face. "Don't worry, Luce! We're gonna win this for sure!"
"What makes you so sure?"
"We're Nashi's parents! 'Course she'll come to us!"
Lucy blanched as Natsu crouched down and started calling for their daughter. There went their money for the week. Well, there was no going back now, and she was not about to let everyone else win a bet based off of her family anymore.
"Come to Mama!" Lucy said, waving frantically. The child glanced at her before taking a step towards her. "That's it, Nashi! You can do it!"
As everyone beckoned for the child to come their way and used magic or food in an attempt to lure her, Nashi only took straight steps towards her parents. Natsu and Lucy watched in awe as she walked. She was really walking!
"I can't believe she's walking already," Lucy said, tears pricking her eyes. It felt like only yesterday when she was sporting a baby bump.
"Yeah, I know," Natsu replied. His heart was full of warmth as he took in the happy smile on his daughter's face. "She's growin' up so damn fast. She needs to stop!"
"I agree! But at the same time, I'm so proud of her!"
"I know! Look at her go!"
Finally, the bet ended as Nashi took the last step towards her parents. They wrapped her up in a tight hug, both of them praising her.
"Good job, Nashi!" Natsu exclaimed, planting a kiss on the girl's forehead. "You did it!"
"We're so proud of you," Lucy added. She knew that Nashi couldn't understand a word they were saying, but she refused to go without praising her daughter.
Natsu gave his wife a wide grin. "Told ya she'd come to us! She'll always come to us because she's our little girl!"
"Until she's old enough to get a boyfriend," Happy said, flying over them.
"Or a girlfriend," Lucy added with a shrug.
Natsu furrowed his brows at the two and clutched Nashi close to his chest. "She's not allowed to have either!"
Mira and Cana watched as the family began to bicker and tease Natsu.
"You know," Cana began, leaning against the bar and taking a swig of alcohol before continuing, "I don't think I mind losing the bet this time."
"Me neither," Mira replied with a smile. "What a happy family."

Yoohoo! Karasuno first years and Kenma trying to attempt making out with their s/o for the first time? How would they go about it? Would they manage to take it further? Female s/o, please and thank youu I love your bloooog~~
These are so cute, someone please cuff me. I need a boyfriend. Half kidding. These were really fun to write but I wanted unique scenarios for each so it took a minute. Enjoy!
Hinata would already love giving his partner plenty of kisses, even if every time he did the kisses would make his brain short circuit. Making out however…that was a different ball game, Hinata doesn’t know a thing about how to properly “make out”, but he would be eager to learn. He’d invite his partner over to his one day to help him babysit Natsu but once they put her to bed he’d try and make a move. He and his girlfriend would be sitting on his couch watching some tv as they waited for his parents to come home and give her a ride back to her house. He’d slowly place his arm around his partner’s shoulder and try to gently pull them closer but would get a bit over zealous and end up yanking her to his side which resulted in her giving him a questioning glare. Hinata would apologize profusely with a blush on his cheeks as he expressed to her that he would like to try “m-making out” His partner readily obliged “I mean that wasn’t the smoothest way to go about this…” she said looking at his lips and leaning in closer “but I’m plenty smooth for the both of us” she smirked and closed the gap between them, placing her lips on his tenderly kissing him as she brought a hand to his cheek and wrapped her arm around his neck. Hinata reached to place his hands on her waist but as soon as he did they pair heard the front door unlock as they scrambled to separate themselves.
Tsukishima would be much more smooth as he approached his partner. The two would likely be watching a movie at a theater. Most likely a rom-com his partner coerced him into seeing. Inevitably, the film progressed to the scene where the two leads became more intimate with each other. Tsukishima noticed how when his partner watched the scene she stopped eating her popcorn and became totally engrossed in the movie. The theater was dark but he swore he could see a light blush dusting her cheeks. This was the perfect time for him to make his move. Tsukishima brushed his partners hair away from their face and began kissing up their jaw to their cheek until he reached their ear. “If you want, we can do what they’re doing.” His partner smiled and nodded shifting their body to face his and hesitantly pressing their small hands on his chest, she closed her eyes and puckered her lips.  Tskuishima took note of her vulnerable position and couldn’t help but be his tease self. “Have you no shame _____-san, you look far too eager for me…” Little did Tskuishima know that his partner didn’t take to kindly to his teasing. In a swift and somewhat aggressive motion she brought his lips inches from hers and whispered back to him “You’re right, when it comes to you…I’m absolutely shameless.” Then to wipe the the look of shock off of his face she pressed his lips to hers and began letting her hands wander up his chest, to his neck before making their way down to his belt buckle. “Two can play at this game Kei-chan.”
Kageyama, groaned in frustration and leaned his head on the table it was clear to see that he was absolutely done with studying. “Tobio-chan, I’m not trying to make you frustrated I just want you help you understand.” His girlfriend sighed over their textbook readings. “I know, I know, I just thought this would be…easier” he said voice muffled in the crook of his elbow. Kageyama’s girlfriend hated seeing him like this since he was typically rather confident and humble. Any deviation from his normal self wouldn’t do. “You know, we could take a break from studying and pick it up later.” she spoke leaning over his back and resting her head on his shoulder. “What we would do instead?” Kageyama said turning to look at his partner, underestimating the distance between their faces. He instantly blushed, of course he wasn’t opposed to giving his partner a peck every now and again but rarely did he view them from such a close, intimate angle. Her lips looked so soft and kissable and rather than being shy herself she smiled and as Kageyama’s eyes traveled up her face the two locked eyes. He could feel his heart beginning to beat wildly in of his chest. Noticing his blush she giggled. “I think I have a pretty good idea of what you’d rather do Tobio-chan.” His hands moved on their own, brushing her hair off her face before cupping her cheeks and pulling her lips to his. His lips moved tenderly against hers progressively becoming more forceful and sensual. He turned his body towards hers before wrapping an arm around her waist he stretched an arm out in front of him, dipping down until her back rested and against the rug in his room. Just as he went to snake a hand up her blouse, his partners phone rang. “I’m sorry love, but my parents need me home.” Kagayama sighed and went to roll off of his partner but she tugged him back to whisper “but I do intend to continue this later.”
Yamaguchi had never felt this kind of happiness before. If he could he’d stop time and just relive this moment forever he would. Everything about this moment was picturesque,  his beautiful partner in her sundress sitting across from him on their picnic blanket, coyly smiling at him while the sun set behind her as she ate cherries. He couldn’t stop thinking about how lucky he was. “Tadashi?” his girlfriend questioned, seeing how mesmerized he was by she couldn’t help but smirk a little. “Take a picture, it’ll last longer” she teased. “Can I?” Yamaguchi asked still entranced. She nodded feeling her smile widening. The way her looked at her always made her feel so loved, her friends didn’t understand why she chose to be with him, he was rather shy and arguably cowardly but she knew that she could never find someone who would love her as boundlessly as Yamaguchi. He pulled out his phone as she smiled snapping several pictures of her. “Tadashi that’s enough. Come here.” Yamaguchi looked up from his phone and scooted closer to his girlfriend and before he has a second to say anything her lips were on his, her hand resting on the side of his neck, her tongue prodding at his lips to deepen the kiss. Yamaguchi widened her eyes before succumbing to her advances. Soon his hands found a place in her hair and her brought her face impossibly close. Now this moment he thought, this moment is what I want to last forever.
Kenma certainly liked his girlfriend, he thought that she was wildly attractive, but when it came to expressing how he actually felt about her...he definitely struggled which is why he found himself in his current predicament. On the dark street in front of her house with his girl friend franticly talking at him. “Am I unattractive to you Kenma-chan? D-do you not like girls, because that’s fine and everything but I wish you’d t-” She’s borderline crying at him and Kenma can’t take it. Of course he thinks she pretty, and no he’s not interested in guys, at least he thinks. “_____-chan. It’s not-” He quietly mumbles before she cuts him off. “It’s not what? You won’t even told my hand are you embarrassed to be with me? Maybe I just don’t understand you and that’s my fault-” Kenma panics, he doesn’t like where this is going. “You understand me better than anyone I’ve ever met…” He grabs her hand and pulls her closer by her hand “If anything... I’m not doing a good job of keeping you happy.” He speaks quietly under his breath placing his forehead against hers. “Kenma” she whispers. “I love you ____-chan, I’m sorry I’m bad at showing it..” She smiles at him. “it’s ok, I love you too and thought of you not liking me really worried me, I don’t know what I’d do without you” She’s blushing now and before she can speak another word she finds Kenma’s slightly chapped lips pressing against her soft ones connecting over and over. His hold on her hand tightens before he pulls back resting his forehead against hers once again. “It’s funny _____-chan, because I feel exactly the same way.”

Confused
Chapter 1
Chapter 2
Chapter 3
FanFiction.net - This story
Hey guys! It seems every one of you enjoyed chapter one, so here's chapter 2! I unfortunately do not have a preview for the third bonus chapter, but it is definitely coming, so don't worry about that. One of you asked if this would be in Natsu's point of view, and you will be pleased to know it definitely is! We get to see what he was thinking and his view of the situation here, so enjoy!
Natsu was confused.
And not the kind of confused where he could punch the problem to make it leave then eat twice his weight in food and sleep until he forgot all about said problem, nor was it the kind where if he ignored it for long enough it would go away and leave him alone.
He was pretty sure punching and/or ignoring his best friend, partner and love would really make her upset and angry, and that was the last thing he wanted. Not to mention he absolutely despised the idea of hurting her in any way. Just the thought of it made him sick.
Speaking of Lucy, he had walked into the guild that day and almost immediately spotted her talking to Levy near the back of the main hall. He almost always knew where she was if they were anywhere near each other. He had considered going over to say hi to the two, but one look at the heated conversation they were having told him he would get bored very quickly. It was only too obvious they were talking about some book.
So he decided to eat instead. He may have also punched Gray a few times while doing so. What could he say, the guy annoyed him to no end. Those punches eventually led to a brawl, as usual. During the fight, he snuck glances at his blonde-haired partner and noticed her conversation with Levy had taken a turn down a road definitely not involving books. At least not entirely. Lucy looked crestfallen for some reason, and it looked like her blue-haired best friend was trying her hardest to keep her from crying.
While he appreciated his guildmate's efforts to do what he was slacking on at the moment, he felt a surge of concern and immediately made to approach the table and find out what was going on with Lucy. He only made it two steps before someone grabbed his collar and dragged him towards one of the back doors leading behind the guild, and while he thrashed and complained loudly, his captor didn't let go until they were standing in the courtyard.
The Fire Dragon Slayer spun around, assuming it was Gray and ready to punch him, but paused when he saw it was Gajeel standing there with his arms crossed looking simultaneously bored and irritated. Seeing the other male obviously didn't want to fight, Natsu scowled and relaxed slightly from his battle stance.
"What do you want, Metal Head?" He growled, more than irritated that he had been prevented from trying to comfort his partner.
"I'm making Levy's job easier."
Um… That made no sense to Natsu, no matter which way he turned it in his head.
"What?" He narrowed his eyes, brows furrowing. "What's that supposed to mean?"
"Look, I know you and Shrimp are planning something, and that it has everything to do with Bunny Girl. Whatever they just finished talking about, I know for a fact she'll want to talk to you about it." The raven-haired man grunted, scowling and tapping his foot impatiently as if he had something else to do other than babysit Natsu.
"What? What would they be talking about that she'd want to-"
"There you are, Natsu!" The woman they had been discussing (well, one of them anyway) interrupted him, striding through the open space with a determined look on her face. Gajeel's annoying scowl turned into an equally if not more infuriating smirk, and he chuckled his queer laugh.
"Gi hee. What took ya so long Shrimp?" He teased, sharp fangs glinting in the sunlight.
"I was looking for Natsu, thank you very much Gajeel." Levy quipped, crossing her arms. "Now, go away. Me and Natsu have some things to talk about."
"Yeah yeah, you go ahead with your little schemes. Try not to break Bunny Girl while you're at it, it's annoying when she's upset." He replied gruffly, striding back into the guild and slamming the door shut. Despite his harsh statement, Natsu knew Gajeel was just using tough words to hide his gooey interior. He was almost as intent on finding and beating up anyone who made the girl upset as Natsu was. He let his expression soften at the thought. The guild really loved his partner, even if she didn't think they did.
"Natsu Dragneel! I can't believe you kissed Lucy just to steal cotton candy from her!" Levy scolded, making the male stiffen and blush in mortification.
"H-Huh?" He stammered dumbly, eyes blown wide. "Wha… How did you find out?!" He settled for asking, wondering if someone had seen them and nattered off to her.
"How else? Lucy told me." Levy replied. Ah. That was the most reasonable and likely explanation. "And I'm kind of annoyed neither of you told me. Especially you." She added, puffing her cheeks out. It was cute, but when Lucy did it she made it way cuter. That's why he loved to annoy her so much.
"W-Well, I… I wasn't exactly thinking about it at the time, so…" He trailed off helplessly, looking at a pebble in front of his shoe. He wondered if kicking it would make him look even more like the shy dork he really was when it came to romance.
"And that is part of why I want to talk to you. Why did you kiss her?" Levy demanded, hands propped on her hips.
"I… Don't know." He admitted quietly, eyes averted to the side. "After I did it I hoped she would show me if she liked it or not, but… I dunno… I couldn't tell." He pouted behind his scarf, a little put down by the memory. She hadn't kicked him like he expected her to, but she hadn't kissed him back or asked for another one any time after the whole event, so he wasn't so sure he would call that a victory on his part. More like a stalemate. A stalemate he didn't know how to break in his favour, if it was even possible in the first place.
This whole situation was a confusing battle of emotions he didn't know what to do with, as if he was given weapons he had never seen or heard of before and was expected to use them like an expert on the first try. He knew from experience that was pretty much impossible. So he stopped trying after the first go-around, at least for now.
"Natsu, you can't just do that and not do anything else afterwards!" Levy scolded, frowning disapprovingly at him.
"Then what was I supposed to do?!" Natsu asked desperately. He had found somewhat unexpected help in Levy when trying to find ways to figure out what to do about his feelings for the resident Celestial Mage, and they had talked a couple times already about what he should do but neither agreeing on a solution as of yet.
She had suggested romantic dates and flowers and gifts, and while he wouldn't mind the gifting part, he vetoed the idea of acting romantic for the sake of winning Lucy's heart. He had argued that he wanted Lucy to love him for who he was, and as desperate as he was for her to return his feelings of affection, he refused to turn towards acting like someone he wasn't to get it.
He had suggested taking her on a mission and bringing it up somehow then (just winging it, basically) but Levy had quickly struck down that idea, her most compelling argument being that Lucy was very unlikely to appreciate him telling her how he felt in the middle of a fight with a ragtag bunch of bandits or something. He begrudgingly agreed.
"Definitely not leave her hanging! She was about to get very upset today about the whole thing you know!" Levy snapped. Natsu flinched like he had been struck, eyes filling with worry and a vague horror.
"She-She was crying about me kissing her?" He asked, heart sinking in his ribcage as he remembered that his partner did indeed look very close to bursting into tears before he was dragged outside. "Oh Mavis. I knew it. She doesn't like me that way. She probably hates me now. I mean, I think that was her first kiss and I basically stole it from her. Fuck. What am I gonna do to make it up to her? Will she ever look at me the same way again? Dammit. I really messed up. Maybe some gold will make her happy. Girls like shiny things, right? Yeah, gold will-" He had begun muttering to himself and pacing in small circles, panicking over the new findings and trying to find a way to resolve the situation. A small hand on his chest stopped him, however, and he noticed Levy had stepped forward to halt him in his tracks.
"Calm down, Natsu. Lucy doesn't hate you." She said firmly but soothingly. Natsu swallowed but nodded silently. "She was upset because you kissed her and did nothing afterwards, not because of the kiss itself." She explained. "She didn't know what to make of it, and she certainly didn't know if you were actually interested in her from just one kiss."
"Oh." Natsu murmured, not knowing what else to say. It made sense to him. He was exactly the same. Her lack of a reaction made him doubt himself, and he kept quiet and refrained from any further action. This really was a stalemate, he mused silently.
"Now, since I refuse to be the one to tell Lu-chan that you like her, as much as I want to, you have to suck it up, be a man, and tell her yourself. Take her somewhere nice or somewhere you're both comfortable, and tell her." Levy said with a no-business tone, poking Natsu in the chest. "Tell her you're sorry for making her confused. Even if she doesn't like you back, it's something she should know." Natsu nodded, but he wasn't convinced.
"But if she knows and doesn't like me… what will that do to us? Will either of us be able to look at each other the same way again?" He asked helplessly, his main and most crushing fear in this situation coming to the surface. Fear had been a foreign concept to him until his fight with Gildarts in the S-class exam, and while he better understood it now, he still struggled in the area of dealing with it.
Most of the time punching the thing that scared him made it go away, but it wasn't an option in this situation.
"Honestly. At this rate, you're never going to find out one way or the other." Levy sighed. Natsu agreed, but it didn't make it any better. "Look at it this way; would you rather ask her and know you had at least tried getting her to be with you, and maybe even reap positive rewards from it, or would you keep silent and forever ask yourself 'what if', never knowing for sure what her feelings for you are?"
She made a good point. One he couldn't argue with. And one he knew the answer to.
"I'd rather ask her." He replied strongly, fists clenching at his sides. He knew all too well what things like 'what if's did to people, spending too much time as a kid asking himself what would happen if things had been different, if he would have still been with Igneel. Over time he accepted that it was what it was, and that life had just dealt him his proverbial cards and left him with the hand he had now. And while he missed Igneel with all his heart, he was glad to have his friends and family and, in more recent years, Lucy, by his side.
Part of him was now afraid to ask the 'what if'. He wasn't sure he wanted to know what a life without Lucy would be like, and if fate had handed him a different deck, he didn't know if he would have met the wonderful woman that had planted herself in his life like the brightest star in the sky that was always there every night without fail.
"Good." Levy nodded, grinning approvingly. "Now go! Don't think, just do!" She exclaimed, shooing him back towards the guild. "She's most likely back at her apartment, so that's where you'll find her. I'd better be haring positive results from you tomorrow!" She almost threatened, and Natsu grinned without a verbal reply as he re-entered the guild.
"This better work by morning, or I owe Mira a lot of money…" Levy muttered to herself.
Natsu walked down the streets towards Lucy's apartment, formulating a rough plan of action in his head as he followed her scent back to her place. Even if Lucy had not gone back home, he had memorised her scent thoroughly by now and would have had no problems tracking her through Magnolia. Her path never strayed from the direction of her apartment, however, so he was safe in assuming she was indeed home.
He didn't have any details to flesh out his plan, but he had always been a man of action, so he didn't worry too much. For now, his plan consisted of going to her place, making sure they were alone, and just telling her outright that he liked her. Or maybe he would go straight to love. He didn't know yet.
Levy had seemed surprised when he admitted his love for the Celestial Mage, and asked him how long he felt that way. He hadn't been sure himself when exactly he had fallen for her, but part of him felt like he had loved her from the start. Maybe not the way he did now, but he had definitely loved her as a friend and partner, someone he could rely on and who he knew relied on him.
Eventually those feelings had only grown and strengthened into what he felt in the present. He knew for certain that there would be no one else for him, that she was his lifelong Mate. But he also knew that if she rejected him (and crushed him in the process), he would rather she be happy than force her into being with him just because it would tear him apart to see her with someone else.
Shaking the thoughts from his head, he noticed he had arrived at Lucy's apartment and jumped up to her windowsill almost completely unconsciously. He slid the window open, smiling to find it unlocked, and hopped inside, shutting it behind him as he did a quick perusal of his surroundings.
Lucy was sitting at her desk, writing in her notebook and pausing occasionally to think before resuming. Natsu stood staring at her for several minutes, entranced by the image of her hair gleaming in the sunlight coming through the window like spun threads of gold. She looked so peaceful sitting there in her little apartment.
He cleared his throat, opening his mouth to speak, but she heard him and jumped with a squeak before turning around to face him.
"Oh, it's you Natsu." She breathed, hand going to her chest and a small smile gracing her face. "Don't scare me like that." She playfully scolded, turning back to her notebook. Natsu stood there dumbly for a few minutes, staring at her and contemplating the best way to initiate his plan.
After several moments of prolonged silence and virtually no movement on his part, Lucy turned around to face him again, this time with a confused frown.
"Natsu? Is something wrong?" She asked worriedly, brow furrowed as she looked him up and down. Nasu looked at her then, and as their eyes met, everything he had planned on saying to her vanished like smoke being blown away in the wind.
His body moved without conscious thought. With long, determined strides, he walked up to where she was seated at her desk and grabbed her upper arm, ignoring her startled squeak as he tugged her to her feet. He swept in, squeezing his eyes shut as their lips met, and he tried his hardest to convey everything he couldn't find words for in the way he moved against her.
He tensed slightly, preparing for a kick to the face or somewhere equally painful, but he jolted slightly when slim fingers reached up to tangle in his hair and pull him closer. He growled, the sound rumbling through their connected lips as he leaned forwards, his hands going around her waist and pulling her snug against his body. Her little mewl at the action emboldened the pink-haired male, and he grinned, daring a peek at her only to see her own eyes closed as she sank against him and his touch.
They broke away, panting slightly, and Natsu almost wanted to crow in victory. If her returning the kiss wasn't a simultaneous return of his feelings, he didn't know what was.
"N… Natsu?" She breathed, voice cracking.
"Lucy, I love you." He interrupted before she could overthink what had happened. Her eyes widened significantly and he belatedly realised his blunt statement probably wasn't much better, and he started to panic again. "L-Like, I love you love you. As in, I love everyone in the guild, but as a family, y'know? The way I love you is different and stuff. And I've felt this way for ages but we always had something going on and I really wanted to find Igneel but now everything's kinda slowed down and I've had time to think I realised I wanted to, um, pursue you? Ugh that sounds terrible now I've said it-"
"Natsu…"
"A-And when I kissed you at the fair I wasn't thinking about it you just looked really cute and I wanted to know what it was like and I realised I'm such a jerk for kissing you and not telling you what it meant, especially since it was your first kiss-"
"Uh, Natsu-"
"But Levy told me off for being a wimp and even if you don't love me back that's fine, okay maybe not really, it would kill me if you chose someone else, but I would deal with it because I want you to be happy and if you're happy with someone else then I'd rather that happen than force you to be with me and be miserable for the rest of your life-"
"Natsu!"
He clicked his jaw shut at her shout, hurriedly hunching his shoulders to hide his blush in his scarf. Though he wasn't sure it was entirely effective since he felt like his whole head was about to light on fire.
He was more embarrassed that he ended up spewing everything he could put into words at her like some word fountain or something like that, but he hoped that despite his obvious inexperience and nervousness that she more or less understood what he was telling her.
"You… You love me?" Came the tentative question from his blonde partner, and he lifted his eyes to meet hers from their previous position looking at their feet. He nodded resolutely, knowing that now his feelings were out in the open, he had no reason to lie to her. He just hoped she didn't go running for the hills, or he wasn't sure he would know what to do with himself.
"I love you, Luce. Even if you move on and forget about me, I'll never love anyone else." He rumbled, making sure she saw he was completely serious and not pulling a prank on her. He didn't want there to be any more confusion between them about their feelings for each other.
Luckily it seemed luck was on his side for once, because in the next moment Lucy was practically jumping into his arms and kissing him like he'd never been kissed before. His arms immediately went back around her waist and he made a low noise of pleasure, loving how it felt to have her pressed against him like this.
It was heaven.
They broke away again, and Natsu gazed at her beaming smile with hope in his eyes.
"Does that mean you love me too?" He asked tentatively, grinning when she nodded wordlessly, her hair bobbing everywhere with the force of her movements. Joyful tears glistened at the corners of her eyes, and as Natsu leaned in for another kiss, he lifted his hands to wipe away the few drops that escaped her control.
Feeling a surge of playfulness, giddy from his elation at finding out his love returned his feelings wholeheartedly, he lifted her and spun her around, grinning into her neck and her surprised shriek and giggles while she grabbed at his shoulders for support. He tripped and fell onto her bed, the blonde landing on top of him and knocking the breath from his lungs.
Natsu hardly cared. The woman he loved was in his arms, smiling at him like she won the lottery and he was the reason behind it, and he didn't think he had ever been happier in his life.
"I love you so much, Luce." He murmured, smiling up at her as her hair fell around their faces like a golden curtain. A few strands landed on his mouth, and he blew them away, grinning at her giggle at his actions.
"I love you too, Natsu." She replied, voice thick with emotions he could barely even begin to name. He gave her a nuzzle with the tip of his nose, purring deep in his chest when she returned the action all to willingly and added stolen little kisses here and there.
They spent some time like that, swapping words of devotion and love and interrupting each other for kisses.
And as the sun began to set, neither noticing as they engaged in a tickle fight, both knew without a doubt that there would be no more confusion about their relationship with each other from there on out.

Hinata Natsu & Ono Adventures
Well, that didn’t take very long. Here is another mini-hc list of Natsu’s backup sitter nicknamed, “Ono-sama” by Hinata Natsu, fairy queen of the Hinata family garden.
taglist: @kaidasen, @m0nstergeneration20xx, @smolbludandelions
Notes: first time Natsu bumps into the karasuno club on their snack break at practice. (2nd person/reader pov practice)
part of the hinata natsu & ono mini-adventures. (x) (y) (z)
Tumblr media
^ this cutie meddles with her neighbor’s love life in this meet cute with the rest of team karasuno. ^
Ono-chan, or as you were affectionally called, Ono-sama, by your neighbor’s adorable four year old one afternoon when she invited you to her kingdom tea party one day after school.  You were never one to disappoint the literal chibi-tangerine child, so you hadn’t corrected her since even when her mother (or her brother) would ask you to watch her when there was errands to be ran (or volleyball practice ran late).
Being neighbors with the Hintata-fam was always filled with simple pleasures. You’d come over their house on multiple occasions since you were two years older than Sho-kun. Your parents would always invite the siblings over for holidays or festival days since the day you moved across the street. Even with your part time apprenticeship at the local bakery, you always put in 500 yen together for the siblings for the new year.
Today was the end of the week. Your classes were dismissed once the final bell rang; you went to gather your things across the courtyard when you saw a tiny blur of orange run by you. You know that orange hue anywhere and you scrambled to find your phone to see if you had any missed texts from the matriarch of the Hinata family asking you to babysit since she had errands to run that afternoon, but you were greeted by bubbles instead floating over head. You blinked and it popped in your face.
You breathe a sigh of relief knowing that no such text was received. Instead, you decide to let your curiosity to guide your feet until you find Natsu dressed in her over alls blowing bubbles from her bubble wand. She wasn’t alone you come to find out quickly (because the volleyball club was about a ten feet away from where she stopped running) as soon as you entered her line of sight.
“Ono-sama!” Natsu exclaimed as she ran up to you after closing her bubble wand. You bent down to give her a greeting hug. She immediately asked to be picked up like how you used to hold her when she was three and you humbly oblige.
“Take me over there! I wanna see Sho-nii chan!” she said in excitement. You found the volleyball club donned in their white shirts and shorts spread throughout the other half of the courtyard. Your hair was tied in a high ponytail, but your long hair cascaded over your blazer. Today was ribbons day, so you braided a short orange ribbon behind your bangs which peaked out  over your shoulder.
“Who’s that with your sister Hinata-kun?” upon entering their space, I heard this question thrown around by one of the other first years who I could only assume was their secondary manager for the year. “Oh! That’s Ono-senpai. Our neighbor, Yachi-san.” Hinata answered with a smile. He took another sip of water from his bottle he was holding. “I heard she’s really kind & that she likes to bake coffee cakes,” you said when you were close enough.
You placed Natsu down on the grass and watched as she continued to blow bubbles while spinning around in circles (this time letting the natural breezes blow them for her). “Hey there Sho-sho.” You heard the other members of his team snicker at his nickname, mainly because he blushed a little bit.
“Ono-senpai’s here?” the voice belonging to one of the second years’ asked. You nodded with a small grin. “That’s my name. How you guys doing? Taking a break I see.” You raised your left hand up midway and waved before placing it by your side again.
You didn’t really notice that one of them scurried off to drag their captain away from going over the stats with their head manager, whom you’ve shared a class with this last semester (Shizumi and I were assigned lab partners for the previous term).
“What’s so important that--oh hey Ono,” he greeted before shooting a glare at the second year who whistled while looking away in the distance before joining Natsu and he others at a bubble blowing competition. “Hey yourself captain-san,” you returned the greeting. “Come to watch practice? Sorry we’re not doing anything exciting right now.”
You chuckled before explaining that it was alright. “I wasn’t going to stay long, Daichi. It’s my turn to lock up the bakery tonight, so if you want a cup of tea, I’ll keep the light on for you? Maybe we can do thi--” you were cut off by a flurry of bubbles covering his amused face.
Tanaka, who you found out his name when he was called by Yachi-chan, called out to us: “DAICHI! QUIT YOUR FLIRTING AND TAKE HER UP ON THAT OFFER!”
You noticed how the captain’s blushed crept up all over his face and honestly, you thought he might have had his soul escape from his body for a minute. “How does tomorrow at three sound?” You asked looking a scant. Your tone was kind when you scratched my cheek. Natsu gave you a thumbs up because she thought her bubbles were magical in getting her brother’s captain to agree to your impromptu proposal. You two exchanged contact info and just to confirm, you sent him a text immediately: “Ono, Giri, 3-3. Yes my name is a pun. Yes, I am aware, lol” you saw the typically stoic captain chuckle when he read the text.
“See ya then. Bye Natsu! Have fun with the bubbles.” You turn to leave before stopping by your cubby to switch out your school shoes and don the ballet flats before making the short trip to the bakery with a pep in your step.
Later that night on the phone with Natsu-chan: “I can’t believe your bubble magic worked on Sawamura-san Natsu! What are your bubbles made of I wonder.” You let her imaginative ramble go on. You couldn’t believe that Tanaka had the gull to out his captain that afternoon for harboring feelings toward you.
“Luck and love according to Nii-chan’s friends,” the excitement in her voice is palatable. After all, she gets a majority of her likeness from her brother so her imagination catches up with her  until you catch yourself twirling your hair while thinking the events of the day through.
“Oh is that so?” you reply. “Say, chibi chibi chan, can you keep a secret?”

Drabble: Natsu got turned into a small child and now everyone's debating who should babysit him until he's back to normal.
The FairyTail Guildhall was rife with chatter as its members were gathered around thestage in the main hall. A handful of people knew what this gathering was about, but the majority only knew that Makarov had called them all together to discusssomething of “monumental importance”. Up on stage, Makarov coughed thrice toget everyone to quiet down. To the majority not in the know, Makarov’s face wasschooled in poker face fashion; but to the few who knew what was about to be “discussed”…Well. Things were going to be very interesting very shortly.
“As many ofyou know, Team Natsu recently returned from an assignment.” Makarov got thatmuch out before a random Guildmate piped up.
“Does thishave to do with why Natsu and Erza weren’t with them?”
Being thepatient Grandfather figure he was, Makarov nodded sagely at the mage.
“Well.Natsu, yes,” Makarov corrected himself. “I needed Erza for an S-Class job, andshe’s not back yet. She’s completely unrelated to why I’ve called you here, solet’s focus on Natsu. While on the job, a dark mage got a lucky shot off on thepoor lad, but fortunately the man was captured and arrested, so he will begetting the punishment he deserves.”
Understandably, out of everyone present, Lisanna seemed the most distressed with this news.
“Is Natsugoing to be okay?!” Her worry was reflected on the faces of her siblings, whowere next to her. Makarov nodded sympathetically toward the Takeover mage.
“Yes, yes,Natsu is alive and well.” Makarov then turned his head away slightly andscratched his cheek sheepishly. “He’s just… been reduced to the age of ten.”
“Oh. Well, that doesn’t sound so bad.” Cana said out of reflex, before her mind caught up,and she spewed out the booze she was drinking. “NATSU’S FRIGGIN’ TEN?!”
Cana’sexclamation kickstarted a chain reaction of cries of disbelief. Makarov calmlywaited them out, as he, too, was skeptical until he saw the little spitfirehimself. And he was every bit the hellion that the Titan mage remembered. Why,it got Makarov to wondering if Natsu had matured at all within the past decade-ish. He was inclined to answer with ahearty ‘no’.
“Simmerdown!” Makarov barked out after he let everyone react to the biggest piece ofnews. “This is not a joke. Natsu is well and truly a child again, and I can’thonestly say how long this will be the case. The Spell could just wear off, or itcould just as easily be permanent, and Natsu will have to relive his teenageyears. Levy and Freed have both been filled in, and they’re looking into it aswe speak.”
Laxus, who’dbeen pretty quick on the uptake since seeing that Freed wasn’t with the ThunderLegion, raised an eyebrow at his Old Man.
“So themeeting’s not about updating us on Natsu or getting us to help undo the Spell. What’re we really here for…?”
That seemedto snap many people out of their initial shock. Their Master did not doanything without a reason – at least, not the really important stuff. TeamNatsu had been back for a few days, and Makarov had not said anything, despitethe inquiries to Natsu’s whereabouts. One could just write this off as theresearch taking too long, and Natsu’s absence becoming a little too concerningfor everyone, but many knew Makarov better than that. The man was a genuineGrandfather to them all, but he was not without his faults or schemes...
Some werealready looking toward the exit.
“Ah, well, now that ya bring it up…” Makarov rubbed the back of his head sheepishly. “… Ineed somebody to take custody of Natsu. I’ve done all I could, but the brat is goingstir-crazy being cooped up in my home. Didn’t wanna do that, but I thoughtmaybe the research wouldn’t take that long, and we could sweep this whole messunder the rug. He probably won’t be as much of a headache if ya let him runaround a while, but he’s not staying under my roof anymore.”
Makarov’stone was light, but many a mage’s face had become ashen by the end of hislittle rant. Chibi Natsu was confined to a house for more than one day. ChibiNatsu had enough pent-up energy on his best days, Macao and Wakaba rememberedall too well. Makarov was basically playing Hot Potato, and only the reallyeccentric ones were going to be crazy enough to take Chibi Natsu into theirhome for an indefinite amount of time.
… Or Natsu’sclosest friends, if you want a friendlier term.
“NOT IT!” Achorus of voices piped up, and a wave of people stepped far away from thestage, leaving a handful of people to fight for the “honor”.
“I hate toadmit it, but it’s kinda my fault Flamebrain wound up like this.” Gray sighedas he massaged his temple. “Used ‘im as a human meat shield for that attack, and look what happened. If no one’s gonna watch out for him, I will.
            Lucy shookher head ruefully.
“I couldhave had Taurus block the shot, but I was preoccupied and thought Natsu couldtake the shot. I don’t like it, but… Natsu should probably stay with me. Imean, you probably don’t know much about raising kids.”
“I canremember how Ur raised me ‘n Lyon just fine!” Gray shouted indignantly. Lucysweatdropped.
“Yeeeah. Idon’t want Natsu to have the same stripping habit. If he’s with me, I canprobably get him to stop eating like a pig, too.” The blonde deadpanned. Graygrunted, but nodded in begrudging agreement.
“Whoa, whoa, hey! Back up there, Lu-Lu!” Cana made exaggerated hand motions. “You didn’tgrow up with Natsu, so you don’t know what he was like! You’re better offlettin’ one of us watch him.”
“Plus, Idon’t think you’d earn enough to feed two mouths.” Mira chimed in. “Three, counting Happy~.”
Lucynarrowed her eyes and grumbled about ‘hitting below the belt’. Lisanna flailedher arms slightly.
“This Natsudoesn’t even remember me ‘dying’, so I’d like the chance to raise him! Y’know, almost start over, in a way.”
“A Real Manprotects his family!” Elfman flexed his muscles. “Natsu’s our responsibility!”
            Canasnorted.
“You and Lisanna,I could trust. But Miss Barmaid will probably make him cry, like the good ol’days.”
Miraoffered no verbal response, but she did offer an ominous smile that might ormight not have promised Cana excruciating pain. Makarov eyed Macao curiously,as he had backed up with the crowd.
            “You don’twant to raise Natsu?”
            Macaosweatdropped.
“I love thekid, but he and Romeo are about the same age now. Romeo doesn’t need to becomemore like Natsu.”
“Nothingwill stop him from coming by the Guild.” Makarov ‘helpfully’ pointed out. Macao’sshoulders sagged.
            “I know.”
Juviashuffled forward with a conflicted expression.
“Um… Juviawould not mind watching over Natsu-san!” Her features were schooled into aneutral expression, though Lisanna knew her bestie well enough to see she wasquite taken with the mental image of ‘Chibi Natsu’. And to be fair, Natsu wasadorable as a kid.
That didnot stop the youngest Strauss Sibling from puffing her cheeks in frustration.Natsu was hers, damn it!
They wenton like this for quite some time. Lucy and Gray seemed to agree to some ‘jointcustody’ system, as between them, they could probably get the little spitfireto be more mature. Probably. The Strauss siblings were still fiercely makingtheir case, and honestly, it would make a lot of sense to let them take care ofthe Pyro. Cana and Juvia still showed interest, too, and even Jet and Droygrudgingly stepped forward to represent Levy, who had told them to representher in her absence.
And justwhen it seemed as if Makarov was going to give all interested parties jointcustody of the Dragon Slayer, the Guildhall doors slammed open, revealing Erzawith her hand latched onto the scruff of Chibi Natsu’s scarf.
“Wouldanyone kindly explain why I found Natsu running around the market… as a child…?”Erza inquired with narrowed eyes. Truth be told, she’d nearly had a heartattack when she verified Natsu wasn’t under some Transformation. Yet that worrywas mixed in with curiosity, anger towards her stupid, stupid Guildmates forleaving the Dragon Slayer unattended, and a deep-seated need to Punish whoeverput Natsu in this state.
            A deadlycombination, that.
“O-Oh,Erza! You’re back!” Makarov was sweating buckets. If she’d come across Natsu, then the boy had most certainly escaped Lucy’s apartment. Makarov had electedto store the boy there until this little meeting was over with, as there was noway in hell Natsu was staying in his home.Makarov wouldn’t have a home to go to, if that happened.
But it wasperfectly fine for the Dragon Slayer to stay in Lucy’s place for a bit.
“Look, here’show it went down…” Gray sighed as it seemed like Lucy and Master were tooscared to explain the ‘accident’. Maybe she’d Punish him for using Flamebrainfor a human meat shield, but at least she’d find out now instead of later. ‘Causethere’s no hiding anything from Erza.
By the endof Gray’s explanation, Erza had gone eerily still, and many feared what shewould do, after the Ice mage had ceased talking.
“… I willtake care of everything.” Erza replied simply, much to everyone’s relief. Tosome people’s disappointment, too, but Erza had That Look in her eye, which signaledthat it was ill-advised to argue with her.
Only Natsucould defy her when she had That Look, and he was currently trying to slip awayfrom the scarlet knight’s iron grip.
“Are yousure you’ll be alright, Erza? Natsu is ahandful.” Makarov sympathetically remarked, earning many an indignant squawkfrom the crowd.
            Unsurprisingly,Erza did not back down.
“I think it’sbest if I do it, actually. I know him best.” Her gaze softened as she turnedslightly to look down at the squirming Dragon Slayer. Most didn’t question Erza’ssoft spot for the Pyro, but there were a few women that registered that as achallenge.
They wouldnot let Erza win that easily, afterall~.
~*~
Note: Not nearly enough Erza-chan for my tastes, but Erza raising a de-aged Natsu warrants another drabble entirely~. I know procellasdracon and I have talked about this idea in our threads; even the reverse situation, with Natsu raising a de-aged Erza. It'd just be cute to picture it~. De-aging - a cliche plot bunny, but an amusing one, all the same. ^___^

Akaashi Rare Pair Week (2017) - Day Seven
Prompt:  new beginnings / last farewells / free form
Pairing: Akaashi Keiji/Kageyama Tobio
Word Count: 652
Akaashi and Kageyama agree to babysit Natsu.
Akaashi walked back from the combini, plastic bag swinging from his hand. He ran through the purchases in his head, double-checking them against the list he had made on the way there, relieved that the small store had a wider selection than he had expected.
Coloring books, a notebook, an extra pack of crayons, a bag of kiwi gummy candy, a couple of small figurines….
The list made Akaashi smile to himself as he passed house after house on the quiet streets right outside of Miyagi, a very different landscape than the one he was used to in Tokyo. He liked being there, in a place where you could hear the wind through the trees, because the quiet streets meant that he was visiting his boyfriend.
He liked it even though, on this particular visit, they had been suckered into babysitting Natsu for the afternoon while Hinata took a begrudging Kenma out on a bike ride. He had been fine with it, understanding what it was like to live so far away from the one you cared about, to only have a weekend, a day, an afternoon to relish in each other’s company, but Kageyama had scowled the entire way to Hinata’s house, muttering about dumbasses and a certain someone owing him one.
Akaashi suppressed another smile. It had only taken a couple kisses, stolen in the shadows behind the train station, to smooth the lines of Kageyama’s furrowed brow and to swap the frustrated muttering for talk about the newest setter for the national team.
When they had arrived at Hinata’s house, Natsu had all but latched herself to Kageyama’s leg, giving Hinata and Kenma a quick wave before turning her full attention to the babysitters.
He was drawn out of his reverie by his phone vibrating in his pocket, so he pulled it out of his pocket.
>>From: Tobio
>>Subject: (No Subject)
>>HELP
Akaashi cocked his head at the message. He trusted that Kageyama would’ve called if it were something serious, but that didn’t stop him from picking up his pace.
When he arrived at the house, panting and with a thin sheen of sweat on his forehead, he didn’t waste any time in throwing open the door and making it to the living room in three long strides, where he found the source of the emergency.
Kageyama sat on the floor, wide-eyed and paralyzed, while Natsu loomed over him. Covered in glitter, stickers, barrettes, and hair clips, she reached toward Kageyama and stuck a pink heart sticker right on the tip of his nose, a complement to the dozen other stickers on his face, as well as the same glitter, and the matching barrettes and hair clips that stuck his hair up in at least ten different tiny ponytails.
“Don’t,” Kageyama said through gritted teeth, right as Akaashi reached into his pocket again for his phone.
Akaashi tried to hold back his laughter, he really did, but it spilled over his lips as he clicked the shutter button. Natsu turned around and flashed Akaashi a bright grin while waving a sheet of stickers in the air.
“Akaashi-san! Doesn’t Kageyama look pretty?”
He walked over to Natsu, kneeled down, and patted her on the head. “You both look great, Natsu-chan,” he said in the most serious voice he could muster.
His response didn’t appease Natsu, who crossed her arms across her chest and pouted. “I asked you if he looked PRETTY.”
Kageyama groaned unhappily as Akaashi booped him on the nose, right where Natsu had placed her last glittering heart sticker.
“Well, Natsu-chan, I’ve always thought Kageyama-kun was pretty, but that was before you worked your magic, and now I think he’s prettier than ever.”
Natsu clapped her hands and Kageyama brought his own up to his face to hid the blush that Akaashi saw on the tips of his ears.
Akaashi held up his phone and took another couple of pictures, for posterity.

For all those Nalu fans out there, here is my newest fanfic. Chapters are posted on fanfiction.net if you want to read there.
---------------------------------------------------
"Things are looking up, oh finally…" For the first time in Lucy's life, things were actually really great. She had a great job as an editor for a publishing firm in the city she always dreamed of living in, Crocus. Her apartment wasn't what she'd always imagined she'd live in but it was a lot better than some of the places around town. But, her proudest achievement, she was in a solid relationship!
So many guys had come along but none had made the cut. From wish washy to self absorbed to complete asshole, Lucy had pretty much dated them all and had sworn off men… until she met him. They met through a friend and seemed to click immediately.
He was kind and sweet, considerate and doted on her every minute they were together… which most times wasn't long because of his job, according to him. He claimed he was some manager of the stars or at least of some important people.
They had been dating now for nearly eight months and Lucy deemed it time for the next step… meeting the parents. Or at least parent. Her mother had died a long time ago in a car accident when she young but her father, Jude, was still around. The small town she grew up in, Magnolia, was having their annual town festival and with many of Lucy's childhood friends coming home, it was the perfect time to introduce him. Her prince charming… Dan Straight.
She switched between humming and singing along to the Paramore song as she packed her bags for the week long trip. She hadn't been home in quite some time but she felt ready, well, namely all the expected check marks were checked off the list and no one could berate her anymore!
The sound of chimes tore her attention away from her suitcase momentarily. The familiar tone coming from her phone sitting on the dresser behind her alerted her who was calling. Ecstatic, Lucy picked up the phone, "Levy-chan!"
"Lu-chan! It's so good to hear from you! We haven't talked in a few weeks!" Lucy chuckled at her best friend. If you bottled pure joy into a bottle and mixed in some sunshine, that was Levy to a T. "Are you excited about the festival?"
Lucy held the phone between her cheek and her shoulder so she could continue packing. "Yes I am! I mean I am finally bringing a man along with me so everyone can stop asking me when I am going to find someone."
"Oh I know, I'm bringing Gajeel with me so he can join in the amazing pastimes of our quaint little town."
"You mean sitting around drinking alcohol and talking about one another?"
Levy paused before responding, " Umm… yeah pretty much." Lucy giggled in response. "so who is this mystery man you're bringing home?"
"I'm not telling…" Lucy replied coyly.
"Whaaaaa… not fair. I told you who I was bringing."
"You and Gajeel have been dating for months know that's no surprise."
"True, True. Hey! You excited for a good ol' Fairy Tail reunion?!"
Fairy Tail High… the place where teens of Magnolia discovered who they were and where that would lead them in life. Mostly for Lucy it was a time to break away from the dramatic life she lived. Her dad was constantly working and became a bit of a hermit after her mother died. What made it worse were the murmurs around town about her and her family, her only solace was her friends at school. But unfortunately they all went their separate ways after they graduated. This trip would be the first time in 5 years they would all be together!
Her feet mindlessly moved her away from the suitcase and towards the bookshelf in the other room. She pulled the familiar yearbook from its place on the shelf and sat down onto the nearest chair.
"Did you hear that Erza and Jellal confirmed?" Levy stated.
"Really? I thought they couldn't with their kids?"
"Erza's mom was able to babysit for them so they are coming out!" Lucy flipped through her senior year book, her eyes falling on a picture of Jellal and Erza. They always were the power couple. Her eyes landed on a picture of Juvia laughing right after she slammed a whip cream pie into Gray's face. "And Juiva and Gray are coming… has he asked her out yet?"
"I think their relationship is a mutual pining." Levy explained. "I heard Natsu confirmed."
Lucy's heart stopped… Natsu, her best friend growing up. The two of them were inseparable since they first met at the age of 5. They used to live right next door to one another, that is until her father's business went belly up and they had to move. Well, that and her father's health hasn't been the best lately so he moved into a two-bedroom house with their caretaker Mrs. Spetzo.
He defended her against the vicious bullies in the second grade, he taught her how to ride a bike when she was 7, he helped her make her volcano for her science project in the 5th grade, he stole her first kiss when she was 13, he had helped her through her mother's passing when she was 16… they vowed to stay in contact with one another after graduation… but what happened?
"Oh…" was all her mouth could seem to udder. She turned the page to see a picture of the two of them flexing their arms at the Field Day event.
A honk from outside drew her attention away from the book. Lucy stood up in such a hurry, she didn't notice the book fall to the floor. Lucy peered out the front window to see Dan sitting in his brand new convertible. She waved and signaled she'd be down in a second but Dan just waved her off.
"I gotta go, Levy-chan, my ride is here."
"Ooooh, enjoy, I will see you soon!" Lucy hung up, quickly grabbed her jacket and purse and took off out the door. Lucy practically skipped all the way to the car, a huge grin adorning her face.
"Hey babe!" she yelled as she opened the door and took a seat on the passenger side. Dan didn't seem to react to her presence at all so she decided to take her frustration out on the door. "Watch it!" Dan yelled. Lucy stared at him in shock. "Be gentle with her, she's new," Dan cooed as he leaned over her lap to pet the car door.
Lucy, obviously annoyed, said, "So where are we going tonight?" an straightened back up and began to drive away, "The fanciest restaurant in town."
"That sounds romantic!"
The ride to the restaurant was mostly silence mixed in with a splash of awkward conversation, mostly about Dan's new car. Lucy was happy to step foot out of it, hoping without the car Dan would actually take the time and talk to her.
"How many sir?" the hostess asked.
Dan wrapped an arm around Lucy's waist as he spoke, "Two and I believe I have a reservation under Straight." Lucy (pretended) not to notice his wink after talking to her and the blush of the hostess. As the two waited to be sat, Lucy took the time to look around the restaurant. The décor was beautiful and serene, an excellent place to go on a date.
"Dan?! Is that you?" The blonde turned to see an unknown man and woman walking up to Dan. "W-what are you guys doing here?"
"We are celebrating our anniversary tonight. Oh are you here with Angel?"
"Uhh…"
Lucy stepped forward and peered around Dan's shoulder. "Hello, I'm Lucy." The couple seemed very surprised to see her but was even more surprised when the male began to reach out to take her extended hand but the woman swatted it away. "Who are you?" she questioned.
"Lu…cy, I'm Dan's girlfriend."
The woman froze before slowly growing angry, "Interesting, considering Dan is married."
It didn't take two seconds before Lucy stormed out of the restaurant and began walking down the street back to her apartment. "Lucy! Lucy wait!" she heard in the distance. Lucy wrapped her jacket around her tighter and began walking faster. "Lucy, stop!"
"Why?!" she yelled as she whipped around to face the man she thought was 'the one.'
"We need to talk about this."
"About what?! How you deceived me for 8 months. Ugh, and to think I wanted to marry you!"
"Well, if I told you I was married, you never would have slept with me!" She snapped… Lucy balled up her fist as tight as she could, until her knuckles turned white, and she swung as hard as she could towards his stupid, cheating face. The impact sent Dan flying back onto the ground and left him knocked out cold.
Lucy threw open her apartment door, ran to her bedroom and collapsed on her bed. She couldn't hold it in any longer as the tears flowed from her eyes. It looks like her track record for men still held true; well, now she could add cheater to the list. Why was her dating life so bad?! Was she doomed to be single the rest of her life?!
Her phone next to her began to chime. She glanced up long enough to see it was her father calling. Lucy reached up, grabbed the phone from the nightstand and declined the call. She let her face fall back into the pillow, not caring of the mascara that was definitely running down her cheeks and onto the pillow.
Within a few seconds, her phone sounded again. Lucy looked at the phone and saw her father's image on the screen. With a loud groan and as much enthusiasm as she could muster, she accepted the call. "Hey, Dad." She loved her dad, really, just sometimes he was a bit pushy with his expectations of her. Also… now really wasn't the time.
"Hi, honey, all packed for the trip?"
Lucy looked down at her thrown together suitcase, "Almost."
"I'm so glad you are coming home. It feels like it's been forever since you've been here."
"Yeah it's been some time…" Lucy said throwing a sigh in there.
"You know… I've been thinking…" Ugh! Not this again, she thought as she sat up.
When her dad though it was usually about her future, specifically with relationships. "You're almost 27 now and you're getting to that point where you've reached your peak physical attraction level…"
"Oh my Mavis, Dad!"
"What?! I just want my daughter to not be single for the rest of her life." Lucy face palmed, great way to bring this up.
"Why are you so invested in my dating life anyway?!" she yelled back. This was the last straw; she was tired of all the pressure to get married. When she was younger, it was about arranged marriages to better the company but since it went under its been about letting her pick who she married but it had to be sooner rather than later.
She had had enough of the constant nagging, I was time to take a stand.
"Because I would like to at least meet my future son-in-law before I die!" Lucy paused.
"What do you mean?"
Her father's sigh was audible on her end of the phone. "I met with the specialist today… He said it's the Big C and terminal."
"B-but you were doing great last week…" Lucy almost couldn't believe what she was hearing. She reverted to what she knew… logic.
"I have good days and bad days, but they seem to be few and far between nowadays." Lucy couldn't do much but stare down at the ground. Her mind was blank, her chest tight, and she couldn't seem to breathe.
"All I want, as a man in my last few days, is to meet the man you are going to spend the rest of your life with… to make sure you're taken care of after I'm gone."
"Dad…"
"But at least there's hope, right? This man you're bringing to the festival…" Crap! She forgot about that for a second. What was she gonna tell him?! "Dad… about that…" I was dating a married man so at least he would know the tips and tricks to a great marriage, right?! Ugh…
She took a deep breath to respond to her father, hopefully the truth wouldn't break his heart. As she breathed in, her foot hit something hard. Confused, Lucy looked down to see her yearbook she was looking at earlier face down on the ground. With a sigh, she bent down to pick it up.
"This 'mystery man…' Is he the one for you?" he asked. Lucy grabbed the book and stood up to place it back on the shelf, which only released some loose papers inside of it. Lucy sighed even harder before stooping down to pick them up.
Lucy turned over the first picture to see it was a collage of pictures of herself and Natsu throughout their lives. Her father continued going on about something in her hear but she was captivated by the images in front of her. She glanced over a photo of the two of them in a kiddie pool when they were younger, of Natsu in his football uniform and her in her cheerleader uniform… Her eyes lanced over all the photos until she flipped the paper over. The backside was covered with a handwritten letter from Natsu, his 'goodbye' letter which is customarily written in the yearbooks themselves.
Her eyes looked at every word before the signature on the bottom… the name she knew all too well. Beside the signature was a selfie he had taken of the two of the their senior year. Her head was slightly down and she was laughing because Natsu was kissing her temple. She smiled at the memory… she was so happy around him.
Her eyes began to widen, and her head turned and raised. Before she could think about what she was doing, she spoke, "Dad… what if I told you, you've already met him?"
