My Body

[tw // sh] For as long as I can remember, I've been a target - one can easily dismember, Always left to tremor or surrender, To the hatred they try to render.

I walk the streets, and they call me names, They whistle, jeer, and my heart is maimed. My eyes, my ears, all in flames. My body, my being, they tried to claim.

On public transport, I am on high alert, As groping hands try to make me hurt. Their vile touch, their depraved flirt, A daily ordeal, I must endure and skirt.

At work, I try to blend and hide, But their stares make my skin crawl inside. Their words cut deep like sharpened knives, A reminder that I'm not valued as a life.

I long for a day when I can walk free, Without fear of what they'll do to me. A world where respect is the only decree, Where my body isn't a clean-up site to be.

Time to say Goodbye - 30

fare thee well, old self

and reformed self

for we are entering anew.

April, I almost say you are leaving us,

but it is not true - we leave you.

And May is right before us,

and if time tells honestly,

she will not be all the things we hoped her to be,

but in some ways she will be more.

we are leaving you, wellness. and health

and all those other things im leaving behind.

except really you're there. always and forever.

and ill think of these days most fondly,

and cry to the music in the background.

you are perfect and beautiful.

and to anyone who will listen,

please kiss April on the head,

before you say goodbye.

Haló There Adventurer!! ミ⋆

I would like to announce that I will be going on a little art adventure this April n' you are more than welcome to join!! We'll explore a new prompt list n' fresh lil story line!! Journey through space and time, venture into the void - where we'll befriend stars n' save an undiscovered cosmic kingdom!! ミ⋆ Participate as much or as little as you want, goal is to just have fun and maybe gain some new skills n' meet like minded folk!! I will begin posting prompt pieces on the 31st of March n' finish up around the 30th of April - I'm hoping to gain some soft art skills + use this time to experiment and learn new skills - it's important to just try and have fun with this art challenge. There are no strict guidelines regarding format of prompt pieces, use any format you want - analog or digital, use pencil or paint - there is no wrong way to approach this art challenge. Turning P!nk

Written for the @steddiemicrofic April prompt ‘Fool’

“So if you're too school for cool,

And you're treated like a fool-

Treated like a fool!”

Eddie watches as Steve, in his own world, folds laundry, singing along with one of his favourite tracks. He’s a little flat in places, probably because he’s wearing headphones, but he has a surprisingly nice singing voice, and is even doing the harmonies.

He’s bending his knees and wiggling his shoulders to the beat, but it’s when he starts swinging his hips in time that Eddie nearly loses it.

He’s the fool if he thinks he can carry on like this, sharing an apartment with his friend who he’s developed a massive crush on.

If only there was a way to tell him that didn’t involve, y’know, actually coming out and saying it…

A few weeks later Steve’s come to watch Corroded Coffin at The Hideout. He notices Eddie’s antsier than usual, hands running through and frizzing his hair, a crease between his eyebrows that Steve’s doesn’t often see. Unusually for him, he’s repeatedly checking in with the rest of the band, who are valiantly trying to chill him out, reassuring him that everything will be fine.

The gig goes really well, Eddie looking fantastic on the stage and absolutely killing it. Steve wonders whether he’ll ever get used to that. Seeing Eddie like this always makes him… feel things, things he hasn’t yet allowed himself to properly process.

Steve’s in the crowd, as usual hanging towards the back in his yellow polo so he can avoid the disparaging stares of some of the other patrons and the flailing limbs of the mosh pit.

He’s nodding his head and swaying a little, but he never lets go like he does at home.

They finish their standard set, and along with the rest of the crowd Steve claps and cheers and then starts to move away from the stage.

But to everyone’s surprise they start playing something else, Steve hearing the chords of a song he recognises.

Of course, the style is very different. It’s relentless, driving guitars and Gareth’s thumping drums, but it’s so familiar. And when Eddie starts singing, Steve can’t believe it.

“Right, right, turn off the lights,

We’re gonna lose our minds tonight,

What's the dealio?”

The band gives it their all, but Eddie especially. He’s scanning the crowd, seeking Steve, and when he sees him, laughing and dancing in the middle of the floor and smiling widely because it’s his favourite song, he smiles right back.

And at the end, where they’ve tweaked it so it’s literally just Eddie’s voice on the final two words, he sings them straight at Steve.

“Just come on and come on and, raise your glass,

For me…”

imagining a defiant interrogation whumpee who gets sick of saying "I'm not telling you" so they start going into what sounds initially to be them finally telling whumper what they want to know, but ends up being whumpee wasting time by just quoting a song.
