the day you and bakugou get married he’s the first one to cry. neither of you wanted a big party so you settled for a small reunion instead, just your family and close friends. kirishima and your cousin are the ones to officiate the ceremony, making up half of the things they say and urging a laugh from the guests. and he can’t help but look at you with big doe eyes, you look so pretty and kirishima won’t stop talking about commitment and belonging and… he’s crying. because he loves you so so much, he would go through hell for just a moment on heaven with you. he wants to crawl under your skin and settle down right there, the closer to your heart the better.
he finally kisses you, and the feeling gets way too heavy, even for a man his size, and he just can’t take it. it spills out of him, like a vase filled to the brim. and you see the tears beginning to gather at the corner of his eyes, and you tease him.
“don’t start crying on me katsuki” everyone laughs.
but you mean it, because if he cries then you’re breaking down too.
“shut up, it’s your fault.” his hands cradle your face, his forehead resting against yours. one more kiss, two more. it’s so personal, you’re in front of 20 people you care about but still this feels so intimate, like it belongs to the confines of your bedroom. “you and your pretty face and your wonderful soul, i can’t believe you’re mine.”
and you’re crying too, holding onto his wrists and sobbing when he lands a peck on your temple. you end up hugging him close, tight. hiding your face in his chest and letting out and ugly sound.
katsuki keeps crying too, face wet and salty. his big body wraps around yours, protecting you from the world and warming you up. “ i love you” it’s a whisper in your ear, meant just for you.
there’s people waiting for you to get off the platform and get the food started, so you lean back and look him in the eye again. “my make up is ruined” you whine.
“shut up it’s perfect” it’s not, you’d foregone the waterproof mascara, big mistake. but katsuki doesn’t mean your face, he sees you as a whole, and to him you are perfect.
your hiccup earns another coordinated laugh from your audience and you finally turn to look at your parents, your friends, the people you love. as they watch you marry the man you love.
“what the hell are y’all looking at, fucking pervs.”
katsuki’s touching words make you smile, leaving the tears behind. you join the others, still hand in hand, close to each other.
“they can congratulate me tomorrow, right now i wanna be with you.”
and you get it, because that’s exactly what you want as well. to be next to him, till eternity.
