[ ID: A digital comic of Philip Wittebane from The Owl House. In the first panel, a young philip is smiling, looking at Caleb who is to the right of him. He is holding the sleeve of the jacket Caleb is wearing. Caleb is also smiling, but the top half of his head is obscured. In the background is a sun-like pattern of lines. In the second panel below, a young philip is alone and upset. He is clutching the jacket Caleb used to wear. Messy scribbled lines fill the edges of the background. In the third panel, an older philip (same appearance as in “Elsewhere and Elsewhen”) is staring ahead angrily as he clutches the one sleeve of what used to be Caleb’s jacket. There are small traces of blood on the jacket and on his face. In the background directly behind him is an explosion of lines, almost resembling a firework like pattern. Finally, in the last panel at the very bottom, is a much older Philip in his current design (as of King’s tide). His one arm holds his other, still wearing Caleb’s jacket. He is frowning, with the rest of his face obscured. In the background, lines come down from the top, similar to a melting/dripping pattern. End ID. ]

Hello darling, I did my best with this! This series is relatively new for me so I did what I could for a Gojo reader.
-You were known for being rather a gremlin around Valhalla, being laid back, not taking anything seriously, which gave you several people who were mad at you.
-Almost always smiling, carefree in nature, you were easy to get along with when you weren’t pissing people off.
-However, there was something about you, many could sense it, but some chose not to believe it, that you were way stronger than you were letting on. They could sense a power within you, something that made you very dangerous.
-When Ragnarok was announced, you were all for a good fight, a bright smile on your face, ready for a challenge, really wanting to let loose, sense it had been years since you had gotten that chance to go wild.
-You were quickly disappointed however, when you chose to fight first, to open the tournament with a bang! You were paired against Chernabog, a massive deity of evil and destruction.
-Chernabog wanted nothing to do with the tournament and had to be dragged out by other gods, all who were blown head over heels, easily defeated.
-You scowled lightly as you approached, and Zeus shouted, “Idiot, what makes you think you can handle him?!”
-You smirked up at him, reaching up to pull your blindfold off, “No worries Zeusy~ after all, you all are weak!”
-Instead of being furious with your arrogance, many were instantly stunned as you whole face was revealed, your eyes were like looking at the cloud filled blue sky and starlight mixed together, they were beautiful!
-You crossed your fingers and in only a moment, Chernabog was dead, torn to pieces and you were up on the wall to the stadium, like you had teleported, a slightly bored look on your face, “Man, I was hoping to show off~”
-Had no idea you were that powerful- they knew you were powerful, that’s a given, but to see how easily you took care of one of the oldest and strongest gods out there in only a moment, it was very humbling. To you, it was more than a moment, as you and Chernabog went into your Domain Expansion where you teased him for being caught so easily and when he tried to attack, you attacked, but to everyone else, it was only seconds. They were quickly way more curious about you than before, wondering how truly powerful you actually were and wondering why you hid such beauty- you were stunning, why hide it?
            -Zeus, Odin, Hermes, Shiva, Jack, Brunnhilde, and Aphrodite
-Was stunned stiff by your power, seeing how quickly you handled business, and you made it look easy! You won your match in only seconds, not even breaking a sweat and you were complaining that you didn’t get to show off! How powerful were you?! He wanted to find out, he wanted to test his own combat strength against your own, feeling antsy for a fight!
            -Thor, Lu Bu, Raiden, Hercules, Ares, Beelzebub, Kojiro, and Rudra
-That was amazing!! You were so fast and handled Chernabog so quickly! How did you do that?! And was curious why you always wore a blindfold when you were so pretty, not understanding why you were hiding such beauty.
            -Chen Gong, Zerofuku, Adam, and Eve
-You were so stunningly beautiful, how on earth did he not realize you were so beautiful?! He knew you were strong, that’s a given, and you were a pain in the ass when you wanted to be, but your skills could back your arrogance up. Seeing your power on full display was rather intimidating but also humbling, you were a human, but your power could handle anyone in Valhalla, gods or humans. He was a bit more curious about why you hid your beauty, wanting to seek you out to demand an answer, such perfection should never be hidden!
-Loki, Buddha, Hades, Poseidon, Nikola, and Qin Shi Huang

Fool's Gold Chapter 1
Vox x reader
Summary: You're a powerful overlord. Vox is an idiot.
A/N: backstory: the reader is implied to have a similar backstory to Rosalie from Twilight or Cassandra from Promising Young Woman and thats why they're in hell!
Chapter 2, Chapter 3
You always thought you'd go to heaven, but now after decades in hell, you know that you would have never fit in up there. So what? You killed a guy on earth, too bad! Revenge is like that sometimes. Although when you found out there were a lot of pricks down here like him, you couldn't help yourself, looping the poor sinners into contracts, their soul, in exchange for love. Little did they know, you had plans for them, setting them up with each other, ‘convincing’ them that they were in love…
You swayed your hips as you made your way to the bar to get another drink. Usually you wouldn't do this yourself, but you had spotted a red furry head you'd never forget.  “Alastor,” you placed your hand gently on his shoulder, batting your eyelashes as he turned around to face you.
“Ah! Y/N dear! What a pleasant surprise!” he exclaimed in his usual distorted voice. “What ever brings you to a place like this?”
“Oh Allie, you know sometimes I gotta have a little fun,” you shot him a flirtatious smile, dragging your finger down his arm slowly. It was all for show. A persona that you became known for, and well, you liked to appease the people.
He chuckled, sticking his staff out towards the man sat opposite of him, “Y/N, I’d like you to meet Vox!”
The demon was dressed nicely, although his form surprised you, taking that of a television. His face wore a smile, although there was a strange buzzing noise coming from him.
“Well aren't you handsome,” you stepped forward holding your hand out.
His screen grew fuzzy, the buzzing intensified. “Strange! He must be out of range! He was fine a minute ago!” Alastor exclaims, adjusting Vox’s antennas with his staff and giving him a smack on the side of his head.
Vox snapped back, clear as day and no buzzing noise. “Uh- I- Hi,” he managed to spit out, grabbing your hand excitedly in his.
You leaned forward, moving your hand to rest on his chest, “You don't happen to be looking for love do you?” you fluttered your eyelashes as you looked up at him. He visibly tensed.
“Now, now, dear Y/N! You know that’s no way to treat your dear old friend's acquaintances! If anyone should get his soul, it should be me,” Alastor grinned wickedly.
You giggled, lightly hitting Vox’s chest, before turning back to Alastor, “I know , but like I said, I was just tryna have some fun,” you pouted up at your comrade.
“Well, you’ll have to go find some other lonely soul to take,” you pout intensifying at his words.
“ Fine , but it was a joy seeing you Allie,” you lean up, pecking him on the cheek before sauntering over to the bartender.

You never really thought much of Vox after that, never saw him with Alastor again either. Until you show up to an Overlords meeting. You don't often attend, there's usually too much politics for you, but the topic of this one had intrigued you.
“Y/N, nice of you to join us,” Zestial cooed from behind you as you exited the elevator.
“Hm, I figured I should meet the new recruits. You know I can't resist fresh meat,” you grin, slipping through the doorway to the conference room. Though you didn't even look at them, walking straight towards your seat.
“Where have you been hiding dear?” the Radio Demon asked as he felt your presence next to him, turning to look at you.
“Making matches, and living my best afterlife,” you giggle, proud to have done some of your finest work recently.
Alastor chuckles, then turns to glance at the new recruits, asking you a silent question. You glance down the table, there sits the Vees, two of them chatting excitedly while one stares right at you. You hardly recognize him, his head updated to a newer model, his body dressed in a tailored suit. But when you see his lovestruck expression and hear that incessant buzzing again, it all comes back to you. You eye up the other two, before turning your head slowly to face Alastor, raising an eyebrow. Alastor releases a burst of a laughtrack. This oughta be good.
“Overlords. Welcome,” Carmilla greets, hands wide. “As you know there's been some stur lately, new people have gained power.” There are solemn nods around the room, but you and Alastor are still as ever. “Which is why I wanted to have this meeting to formally invite them to be a part of our committee, Vees-” she gestured to the end of the table where they gathered.
The shorter of the demons elbows Vox as he stares emptily at you, snapping him out of his daze, he coughs before standing, “Yes, we, the Vee’s, are honored by your decision to include us in this committee and happily accept the invitation,” he states proudly, puffing his chest out. You almost wanted to laugh, but stuck to just side-eyeing Alastor, who grinned at you widely, to which you did laugh, causing a silence to fall over the room. You brush it off by biting your lip and looking up at Vox through your lashes, and he melts like putty. “I- uh- I,” the buzzing grew louder and his screen grew fuzzy.
The shorter demon stands, “What my associate, so eloquently is trying to say is, thank you, and you may now continue with the meeting.” She grabs Vox by the shoulder, aggressively pushing him down to sit in his chair, cursing him.
🌀💋🌀💋🌀💋🌀💋🌀💋🌀💋🌀💋🌀💋🌀
Your cheeks ached as your smile held strong from all of the socialization so far tonight. You excused yourself from your VIP table, heading to the bar to relax your face muscles a bit. You missed Alastor, it had been a couple years since he left, and while you didn't see each other consistently, you missed his company and comfort of not needing to be you all the time.
As you approach, you spot the updated head of Vox, new flat screen hunched over a glass of whiskey. He looks up at you as you slide into the seat next to him. “Vox, isn’t it?” you ask, a sweet smile on your face, though not forced like your earlier ones. He groans, looking back down at his glass.  “What could possibly trouble an attractive guy like yourself?” you flirt, force of habit, leaning closer to him. “Couldn't be a lover, could it?”
“No, it’s just-” he sighs, “-ugh, nevermind,” slumping even further.
“Oh c'mon you can tell me,” you pat his back comfortingly. He looks around anxiously, and you take note, “Here, come with me,” grabbing his hand, you push through the dancing crowd to get to your VIP table, promptly kicking out the sinners who previously occupied it. “Now tell me, what's got you so down, handsome?” you grab his hand in yours, using your other hand to trace the edge of his screen. He leans into your touch, sighing.
“My latest piece of tech is a total failure , and everyone’s gonna make fun of me and then the Vee’s reputation will fall and then Val and Velvette are gonna be pissed with me and I- arrgghh ,” he cries out in frustration, bowing his head.
“Don’t say all that, I’m sure whatever you’ve created is excellent,” you tip his head up to look at you, “trust me.” God, Val could never make Vox feel the way he did in that moment.
🌀💋🌀💋🌀💋🌀💋🌀💋🌀💋🌀💋🌀💋🌀
You were correct, of course, VoxTek’s newest phone released days later and had raving reviews. You watched from afar, pleased, but never buying one for yourself. You didn't need a phone, or any technology really, when you’re a powerful overlord you can make your own entertainment .
You were keenly aware of the way security cameras around Pentagram City followed your every move after that night, although you'd always keep them guessing… “UGHHH!” Vox cried out, throwing his arms up in frustration as you dematerialized once again. He was sat in his office, screens surrounding him, watching you from every angle he could get his hands on. He had been doing this for days… no, weeks… no, months, and he still knew so little about you. He didn't know where you lived, where you did your deals, or how you kept slipping out of his line of sight. He had cameras everywhere . He knew the establishments you frequented for food and to meet up with other overlords, but other than that you were a mystery.
He had almost had enough, scanning through every part of the city for your unmistakable likeness, when on the last sector he found you, sitting on a bench, feeding a venus flytrap a handful of bugs. He waited until you were done before making his move, teleporting through the camera he had been watching you through onto the streets of Cannibal Town.
You knew he was near, while he no longer made that awful buzzing noise due to his new screen, you could still feel the static radiating off of him.
“Y/N!” he jumps out from behind a bush. “Funny seeing you here!” You raise an eyebrow at him, as he brushes off his suit jacket nervously. You hadn't even said anything yet to him to get him this flustered. “You know, while I have you, we totally should get dinner sometime!” He puts on his most charming smile.
Your head perked up, “Oh, why? Are you looking for love ?” you lean closer to him.
“Only if it's with you,” he grins cockily.
“Only if you make a deal,” the air grew thicker and darker as you stuck your hand out, eyes going black.
“Hahah,” Vox chuckled nervously, tugging his bowtie away from his neck as he pushed your hand away with his other hand, “No, no, I was thinking the old fashioned way.”
“That sounds good,” you smile sweetly at him. The air around you returning to normal.
“Oh c'mo- wait, you said yes? O-okay! Yeah! I’ll uh set something up!” he backs away nervously, the static in the air beginning to raise the hair from your head. “I’ll uh call you!”
“I don't have a phone,” you fluttered your eyes at him, clasping your hands together innocently.
“Oh! Right! H-here take mine!” He pulls his phone out of his pocket, “I’ll even wipe it for you!” sparks fly as he uses his power to transfer the data.
You raise an eyebrow once again, but take the phone nonetheless. “Thanks,” you grin, dematerializing from Vox’s sight for the second time that day
🌀💋🌀💋🌀💋🌀💋🌀💋🌀💋🌀💋🌀💋🌀
Techno music played as Vox pumped himself up for your date, he moved around his apartment anxiously, adjusting everything so it was just so. After grabbing the vase of flowers off of his coffee table and repositioning them in the entryway he puffed out his chest, looking around, pleased at his work.
You didn't have to knock when you materialized in the hall outside his door, the phone Vox gave you having sent an alert directly to Vox. “Y/N!” He opened the door wide, holding his arm out excitedly. “Come in!” You walked through the doorway, assessing the home of the CEO overlord. It looked unlived in, completely staged, just like every rich person’s house, you suppose.  “Let me take this!” he slipped the jacket off of your shoulders smoothly, hanging it beside the door. “Would you like a tour?” he asked, placing a hand in the small of your back.
He made things too easy , “Eager to get me to your bedroom, huh?” you brushed a piece of hair behind your ear as you looked up at him. He chuckled nervously, the electricity in the air growing higher. You giggle, placing a hand on his chest, “How about dinner first?”
He nods, that charming smile returning, guiding you to the left and into a large dining room. The table was set immaculately, and for a second you questioned whether a tv demon could eat… I suppose you were going to find out.
After pulling out your chair for you without a word, Vox took his seat opposite you. You observe him but he avoids your gaze, instead, sitting up straight and clapping his hands. Two souls appear on either side of the table, two holding a decanter with wine and the others holding a plate of food. In unison your’s and Vox’s glass are filled and the plates placed in front of you.
The food resembles something you would get on earth, not in hell, and you instantly know Vox paid a pretty penny for this dinner. Most food in hell was rather unappetizing, at least at first, once you've been down here for long enough you get accustomed to it. But this seemed like a delicacy.
“It looks lovely,” you compliment, looking back up at him. He is looking at you now, waiting for your reaction to his show of status. He seems pleased with your approval.
“Dig in,” he grins.
The meal went surprisingly without a hitch. Vox remained mostly unfazed by your flirtatious remarks, which made it less fun for you, you liked to see him squirm. Instead he opted for boasting about his company and success, no doubt trying to appeal to a side of you that would respect him. And you did, you weren't a fool, you knew the Vees were a powerful conglomerate, but you also aware he was a fool. He had no idea you were immensely powerful, and could destroy him if you pleased.
“Well, how about that tour, then?” he asked when the plates were cleared.
“Sure,” you grinned, standing with him as he escorted you down the hall.
Once again, the new rooms he showed you were undeniably perfect, nothing out of place and not a piece of dust in sight. “...And the grand finale,” he opened the door to find the biggests room yet, it had modern furniture decorated in royal blue with electric blue accents. You stepped into the room, twirling in a circle examining the imperfections of this room. There were bottles of cologne, pressurized air, and screen cleaner gathered on a vanity, the sheets were slightly wrinkled, the drapes unevenly pushed back to reveal the city.
When your eyes find him again, he's leaning against the wall near the door, arms crossed, a grin spread across his face as he eyes you up and down, no doubt enjoying the sight of you standing in his bedroom . “Hm,” you hum, walking back towards the door.
His arm flies out, grabbing your arm to stop you, “Oh no you don't,” he chuckles darkly.
You raise an eyebrow at his attempt at a dominant demeanor “You wanna try that again?” you ask, turning to him, eyes darkening.
His smile drops and he freezes, literally, his screen freezes. “Uh-h,” he tries to reply but then he glitches.
When his face returns his mouth is gaping at you and he's giving you doe eyes. You almost pity him, almost . Instead you step towards him, and in response he stands up straight, attempting to make space between the two of you despite his back being pressed against the wall. You drag your finger around the bottom right corner of his screen, your eye's becoming pitch black. “Do you want me to take care of you baby?”
He audibly glups, eyes searching your face as you grin darkly at him. Finally he nods, hands wandering to your hips, you let them run up and down your sides, as you pull him in by the collar of his shirt for a deep kiss.

Briannas pov
its been awhile since i went back to my dimension im 17 now and i know how to use my Spidey abilities now its easy for me. When i got back from my dimension i had forgotten how i forgot to tell anyone where i was i froze in panic and swing home to see what had happened when i had left to go save the world. I had reached my room it was still the same everything where i left it at but there was a box on my bed i wanted to open it but just then i heard a voice come from the door so i turned invisible so they wouldn’t see me. they came into my room it was my twin brother carter he came into my room and looked at it with sadness wanting to know where i was but i couldn’t tell him where i was right before he was about to head out i glitched out my body ached with the pain and i groaned in annoyance i hadn’t realized that i had un-invisible myself and that he could see me now. Carter heard the sound and froze in fear i had not realized and got up in pain and limped to the bed and lied down groaning carter had fulled turned around and saw me in my suit he screamed and i looked up so fast at him to find out he was looking right at me so i screamed but then i got up and ran to him and put my hand on his mouth and my free hand hovering over my lips like this 🤫 he calmed down and i told him everything
he was in shock but when i told him i wasnt in my dimension he realized that he would need to make her something to keep her from glitching he was good at making stuff like this ig. he was in his room making the device to make me stop glitching. on the other hand i was changed
into this

Tumblr media
and u are a natural beauty so u don’t really wear make up u just put on lip gloss
Tumblr media
mk back to the story
after i changed and did my hair ans finished my lip gloss i wanted to go on a walk to clear my head abt were i was and how i got there. I yelled out to my twin brother “carter im going out for a bit text me if u need something ok?” “alright if u go to the drug store can u get me some empanadas and an Arizona please” damn he is really like my brother in my dimension i said in my head. “alright bye” i walked out of the building and locked the door when i see and kid my age talking to this older man about something the kid had braids and wore a a big snow jacket while the other guy was bald and was wearing a black leather jacket and black pants. my spidey hearing allowed me to ease drop on their conversation they were talking about a kid and what they were going to do with him. i was thinking and my spidey sense went off i knew that i had to do something it was a good thing i still had my spider suit on underneath they looked at me as i was walking by i was going to follow them after a few minutes they came out on got into a car. i was already in my spider suit and swan after them making sure they weren’t able to see me as i was following them i notice that this city was horrible there were fires, robberies, everywhere and it was like they had no spider man there
my universe had 2 spider people me and sam (idk who that is but i made him up) our city was perfect while theirs were like this i felt bad when all of a sudden i seen them get out of the car and go to a building it looked like no one was inside so i turned on my invisible and came down to a open window. as i was about to go in i seen this kid tied up to a punching bag unconscious i looked closer and saw that it was miles i ran straight in there and walked to him i tried to get him to wake up but it didn’t work. right then something hit me in the back of my head and everything went black.

Tumblr media
Water lapped at the shoreline, bathing the sand in its cold richness and pulling what it could away with it as it retreated back into the sea once more. The sun way up in the sky was setting on the horizon in the distance and painted the sky a firey orange colour. At least thats how he remebered it...
He remebered the calm silence and then the laughter that filled the surrounding space but could not fill the void in his heart. For that memory, that reminder, only continued to push his heart further into the depths of sorrow.
She stood in that water. The water that lapped at the grains of sand under her feet, wrapping around her ankles as if trying to wash away any worry she had. It wasnt the water he was used to now but the one on the planet that was only a distent memory to him, the Earth. Her clothes flowed behind her in the wind as she waded in knee deep. She bent down slightly only to emerge once again back to her original position, yet this time instead of looking to the ravishing horizan her attention had been captured by something in her hands.
A shell. One she had just picked up. Quite a large one, splashed with a beautiful array of colours. It sparkled in the light of the sun, the one that cast shadows onto the scene that played out down below it. A kaleidoscope of colours spread out onto the surface of the glittering, rippling water and for a moment everything seemed just right.
But this and many other memories plagued his mind and burdened him with many more thoughts. Memories from through out his life. That laughter, it came from a beautiful face, one which no matter how hard he tried to picture properly, he couldnt. The mind is fragile and as time wore on the memories themselves wore down too.
The girl whos face was familiar, recognisable but blurred all the same. He knew who she was, how could he forget? He could never forget her. He never did. She haunted him. He saw her hair, flowing behind her with the wind, her skin tone, her shape, her size, her height, the sound of her voice like a calm melody on the winds that blew past them and her laugh. He remembered it all. But when he looked to the place where her face should be her features were not as in depth as they should have been.
Not as visable as he once knew them to be when he had seen her in front of his face, with his own two eyes, his human eyes. When he had seen and known her in his first lifetime, in his lifetime before he became one of the people.
Jake Sully suddenly awoke in a cold sweat.
He hauled himself out of his resting place, the place he lay asleep in the tent he and his family stayed in within the residence of the Metkayina clan. The clan they were all now officially a part of, since his eldest son lay with their ancestors.
It had been over a month since the funeral, his final send off and he often times now too apeared in his fathers memories. He had confided this in his partner, like he did often times because he was always weak to her, because he could share anything with his mate, his soulmate. He had shared his memories about that girl with her too.
He confided in her the memories of that girl that plagued his mind even before he had left for the alien planet he now called home and strived to protect. They never really went away, those memories he had of her. Over time they, the images, the memories, had faded slightly but the emotional impact always remained, never less but sometimes more.
Sometimes when he was down the most her image, that one at the beach mostly, would flash in his mind and he couldn't help but flinch. A face much like his old one but not himself would follow there after, a ghost of a person long since at rest, at peace. His older brother. And maybe that was why he had always been so hard on the one that now lay with Eywa.
Losing your siblings, your family, the ones you strive to protect, the ones who you love and who love you back no matter what, is a pain that is indescribable and one that no one should have to go through. He and his mate had both lost their older sibling and they could safely and knowingly confide in each other about those things.
Both were lost to humans and now the same fate became of his eldest son, his other childrens older sibling. He started to wonder if maybe they were cursed. If maybe it was always going to be this way, planned out from the start. Was the cause for all of it Eywas plan...or the humans interferance? For she only kept the balance of life.
Eywa could not reach the planet where the people had killed their mother. Fate was cruel and unkind but humans were even more so. They tricked and decived and thought themselves right and worthy of the things they stole from others. They stole their mothers heart and with gun in hand pierced the place where she had trusted them not to shoot. For loving someone is like having them point a gun at your heart and trusting them not to pull the trigger.
And so if Jake Sully has learned anything its that humans cannot be trusted. Not unless they have proven themselves worthy. Proven themselves to be one of the people. Proven themselves to be a child of Eywa or even a human who was worthy of not being called by the title of demon.
~~~
"Say that again?"
"Twenty-one, Sixty-nine."
"Repeat it" You continued to ask over again
"Two. One. Six. Nine." He stated for the third time
"One more time"
"The year is 2169!" Neteyam repeated himself for the final time, exasperated
You paused trying to wrap your head around what you were being told. This couldn't be possible. You looked the exact same age and it was fifteen years into the future, never mind just six years! You wouldn't be twenty-two you would be thirty-one!
"You've got to be kidding me...You're joking right?
This was way too wierd, you were definitely sixteen mentally and physically.
Neteyam looked almost as worried by your reaction as you were about the information he gave you.
"Theres no way I'm fifteen years in the future..."
"Wait. What did you say? You're what...?"
"Oh God, dont make me repeat it." You stated while biting your thumb nail
"You said your 'fifteen years into the future'... is that even possible?"
"I dont know but thats what your telling me by saying its 2169. The last memory i have is when it was the year 2154 so please tell me your lying." You asked almost begging him to give you a diffrent, better, answer.
"Im afraid im not. Im not the type to play pranks on people, especially in this situation." He replied matter of factly and you had no choice but to believe him.
"So how old are you now then, i thought you were around my age." He asked
"I got shot and went into a coma only like a couple days after my sixteenth birthday from what i can remember so...i dont know."
You paced back and forth thinking it over a couple times in your head as the much taller male observed you steadily.
"Also the fact that i died just a couple days after my sixteenth birthday...what kind of bullsh*t life is that?" You asked rhetorically
"I died when i was fifteen."
You stopped in your trackes and faced the na'vi boy, who was aparently younger than you, deadpan - parden the pun.
"...alright, point taken."
You took a minute to absorb his words and fully take in their meaning leaving you even more puzzled than you already were if that was possible.
"Wait...what do you mean you died when you were fifteen?"
"It's kind of a long story but basically the humans shot me too and i died...i think, even though im alive right now. I'm assuming it was a human that shot you as well...like with a gun."
"Ya, it was." You replied
There was an awkward silence between the two of you for a brief moment
"...Well look at us...in this situation...together... This is fxcked, i dont even know what planet im on!"
"We're on Pandora"
"Yeah i sort of got that from the giant rainbow trees and the...well you. What i meant was i dont really know much about this planet so im basically lost."
"They must have brought you here while you were in your coma if you dont remember coming here"
"Yeah i think so too. So what do we do now?"
Before he had time to answer you a figure in the doorway snapped you both out of the intensity of your conversation.
Two people who wore long white coats stood underneath the frame. You knew immediately who they were since those coats were all too familiar to you, you had seen it on, now your most likely deceased, eldest brother.
Scientists. Human ones.
Before you could get a better look at them they had already fled and you would bet everything you had, which right now was really only the clothes on your back, that they were going to alert the other humans. Alert them that the one person who they shot to death and the other who they performed experiments on had woken up and may be potentially hostile.
Humans. They always jump to the worst possible conclusions first. Well, its to be expected since they probably knew they were in the wrong.
Oh, the guy you shot and the girl you experimented on woke up? Yeah, they would probably be pretty pissed, wouldnt you think so too?
Neteyam and i had no choice but to jump straight into action. We ran out the door as well and after the people who saw us. We wove down and out twists and turns and long hallways and eventually the people split up and went in diffrent directions.
Deciding it was best not to split up ourselves, we followed the female of the pair. We ended up getting ahead of her by cutting through a seperate room and waited for her around a corner up ahead as she ran towards us.
"What are we doing?! This is pointless, the other person still got away!" Neteyam asked you as you peered ever so slightly around the wall, waiting for the woman who was much the same height as you to get close enough to execute your plan.
"Shushhh! Watch and learn newbie"
Neteyam wondered for a time how you knew he was new to being in actual battles but didnt have much time to dwell on it as you lunged into action.
In a minute, with not a sound from the victim, you had her down and out and Neteyam helped you to drag her into the nearest unlocked, windowless, room. Here you and Neteyam both changed out of your hospital attire.
Neteyam changed into the clothes he had taken from the room you had both awoken in. Apparently they had been the same ones he wore when he was shot, he had snatched them up before running out to catch the scientists.
You, yourself, had no such clothes but opted to use the ones the female scientist had on. You now donned a black top, a long white fabric lab coat, black baggy cargo pants and black combat boots. To finish the look off you grabbed the womans clipboard, files and all, and made your hair look as presentable as you could.
You had enough conscience to at least clothed her in your previous attire instead of leaving her in her undergarments. If you wore her clothes it was easier to seek around this way, if you both got caught you could make up an excuse saying you caught Neteyam after he had awoken. You just had to hope that whoever caught you guys wouldn't know every scientist in the place off by heart. A mediocre and generic plan but the best you could come up with given the timing and situation.
With your mind on that as you both changed, Neteyams mind wandered to how you took down that scientist woman. He wondered how you did that when you were only a little older than him, a year at best. He wondered if human children were taught to fight differently than na'vi children were.
Or if prehaps they were taught earlier or more vigorously since there seemed to be such a diffrence in strength between you both. He also thought, since his dad had never mentioned such a thing about humans, that perhaps you had just been influenced to train hard by a person in your family. Or that you wanted to live up to the expectations of your family like he did. He wondered if they were kind...your family. He wondered if you would have acted differently towards him if you had both met under different circumstances.
This was all only his speculation. He could ask you, you were only a meter away from him, but did you really even know each other? You didn't. You both had met only an hour ago at most and made an ulikely team due to a common enemy and similarity within your goals but could he really trust you? You were a human after all.
The same humans who drove him from his home. Who murdered the tulkans and himself. The same humans who his mother and father fought against in the war...but also who his father came from. Who he was...is. And if his father was human and became one of the people and even Toruk Macto than maybe they weren't all bad.
His father was trusted among the people, made up for the mistakes he made and strived to protect the world that embraced and loved him. So why couldn't there be others like him? Good humans.
He was sure there was. Like Norm and the other avatars who had remained on Pandora after the war and his friend Spider who he grew up with. They all cemented this thought in him; that not all humans were bad. All those people showed him the life that the humans and na'vi could live if only the wars and fighting stopped and they chose to live together in harmony instead of bloodshed.
They came from very diffrent places. Diffrent planets even. So they would not always see eye to eye but that didn't mean they could never get along with each other. This was proven by his own blood. The blood that was his Mother and Fathers. His mixed human and na'vi blood that would bleed the path to tomorrow.
They bled the same.
Humans and na'vi.
For all his mixed blood it did not look any diffrent, any stranger, than it should of and that was shown as it flowed down those rocks and into the water as he layed dying. It flowed to Eywa and met her at the cross roads of life, death and rebirth.
It chanted to her a prayer. A prayer that she simply interpreted and concluded ment; If his death enticed revenge, war, and hatred than his rebirth will call for peace, tranquillity and rejoice. It would bleed the path to tomorrow and he would take his rightful place once again.
Where his rightful place was Neteyam wasnt so sure about anymore. He always thought it was to be the leader of his clan and to be the perfect son and eldest sibling. But now his position of Olo'eyktan for his clan was no more and while he had protected his siblings he had died in the process. His last words, being his true wish, never once uttered otherwise, to return back to the home they knew, the one they hailed from.
So in the future, he would work hard to find his place in this world, his world, but if he was going to do that he would have to focus on the now. Focus on the situation he was in right now and getting out of it safely so that he could reunite with his family. That was all he aimed for and he knew he couldn't do it by himself, he wasnt that thick headed unlike his younger brother and so if he had to enlist the help of a human to do so he would not hesitate.
And if at times when she fought the gleem in her eyes or the sharpness to their gaze reminded him of his father than that was only sturring him forward. Like a little reminder in the back of his mind telling him not to give up and to just keep going, keep pushing through.
"How did you know i was new to fighting in actual battles?" Neteyam remembered his thought from earlier and spoke it aloud to the much smaller human girl
"It's so obvious, i can tell by the way you conduct yourself." You replied with a lightness to your voice and a small laugh at the first part of your sentence.
You were both done changing now and knew time was of the essence, so while Neteyam was left to ponder your words once again you listened to the sounds beyond the windowless room and peeked through the keyhole to see if you could spot anything amiss on the other side.
Suddenly a blaring alarm went off and you both looked at each other in fright. You knew you were on the same wavelength by the nod you gave each other and made haste while exiting the room you had resigned yourselves to while getting changed.
You ducked under windows as you passed hallways and rooms swarmed with people, who were decked out in weaponry and looked like army soilders, scientists and even some avatars. The walls were painted red with a blinding light paired with the blaring siren most likely alerting those in the spaceship of your and Neteyams escape. After a while and some close calls you both made it to the room you were looking for.
The control room.
You and Neteyam peaked a look through a small circular window which let you view inside the room. You saw the room filled with various diffrent machines and pannels and one or two people in avatar bodies as well as many humans. You had to lure them away from there, if you wanted to escape, that is, and you most definitely did.
The only question was how did you do that exactly?
Neteyam and you shared a look. Alarms were still blaring in the distance and you could hear the flustered footsteps of the people outside the control room shuffling around not too far away.
Thats when you both decided to split up. You gave him a signal, putting two fingers to your forehead and pointing them in the direction you were going. You were going to create a distraction while he entered the control room admitsed the chaos. But you could not put your plan into action before he grabed your arm, hauling you back before you could leave.
He didnt have to say anything, you knew what he was thinking, what he ment. You knew that it would be better for him to create the distraction while you entered the control room : Because if any humans stayed there or if the distraction didnt work, you would be less noticeable sneaking in than him. But you wanted to let him do it since it seemed more dangerous to let him go by himself deeper into the spaceship.
He had no real battle experience, you could see it in the way he conducted himself. Everything was so practiced, like he had been well trained but it was just that. It was too rehersed, too stiff ; his stances, his footwork, it wasnt like that of a real fight, of real experience. But you wained and finally gave in to the look in his eyes that somehow reminded you of your brothers, maybe it was the determination. To what? Prove himself?
To you? Or to himself? Even if that ment he would have to fight. If it ment he could get hurt. He had already died once so what was one more time? Although he might not be so lucky as to return from the dead like he had the first time.
Finally, not wanting to waste anymore time, you gave him a swift nod and headed to the room you had earlier pointed Neteyam to go into before you had switched roles. You didnt have time to talk about where or when you would both meet up again but that was the least of your problems. You had to focus on the task at hand and get yourselves out of there before you were caught once again : Because the next time they caught you, you knew they would make sure you could not escape again.
Neteyam slunk off farther into the spaceship and eventually dipped out of your sight. Hiding yourself away in a room just opposite the control room : you waited for whatever he was planning. You closed the door and rested your head aginst the door, listening. You could hear your own breaths, the beating of your heart ; with all the adrenaline pumping through your veins you hadnt realised how scared you actually were.
The dents in your palms from where the screws of the window pierced your skin earlier tingled and itched a firey sensation all along them. But you did not have time to think about that as sweat poured down your forehead and along the bridge of your nose as you waited anxiously ; flexing your fingers as if cracking your knuckles without any sound. You peered through the keyhole for any sign of the people in the control room leaving, any moment now they would.
Only you wondered if you would be able to get up now that you had sat down. Somewhat relaxed now, your legs felt like jelly once again, just like they had when you had first awoken. Only this time is was from nerves. Could you really do this? No. It wasnt a matter of wheather you could or not. You had to do this! If you didnt you wouldnt just be risking your own life but Neteyams as well.
No matter how scared, nervous, anxious or unsure you were, it was either do or die. Thats what the situation you were in right now was and there was nothing you could do to change it : Because you would rather die then let them experiment on you again and you would rather die than drag someone else down with you, even if it was someone you had only met a little while ago.
Noticing an air vent at the other end of the room near the floor, you made your way over and tried to see through to the other end. Only seeing darkness, you proceeded to look around the room again to see if you could find anything to help you take the screws off the corners. Grabbing a lone scissors off of the nearest table you got to work. Being as quiet as you could, they fell to the floor one after the other. A little while later you removed the cover of the vent from the wall and placed it on the floor before slipping into the vent.
It seemed to perfectly fit you and you couldn't have been more thankfull for it. You couldnt do nothing while Neteyam was working hard to figure out how to distract your captors ; You at least had to figure out where the vent led if nothing else and if it led somewhere that benifited you both than all the more power to you. You had already swiftly reached the end and started making your way back to the room you had entered the vent from when you realised how long it had been since Neteyam had left you by yourself.
Although you didnt know what distraction he was planning or how he would manage it, all you could do as you waited was feel how helpless you really were. What if he failed and got caught? How would you know? Would you have to go rescue him? Could you really do it on your own? What if they just kill him on sight? Then you would be all alone. You would have to make the distraction yourself ; get yourself out of there without anyone to rely on, to share your burden, to help you along. And for some unknown reason you already had a fondness for the teen you had met not so long ago.
In the momentary time you let your faith in him waver you were brought back to reality by the growing noise outside of the room. Scurrying over to the door once again you looked out of the keyhole ; a fare amount of the people in the control room had left it, running, for whatever reason. Whatever Neteyam had done it had worked wonderfully in your favor.
The only people left in there were the pilot and copilot and a person in an avatar body who had left the room and was now stationed patroling the hall right in front of the door. It seemed they had been planning for the ship to take off just before you and Neteyams little escape. Noticing the guard, you racked your brain, remembering every possible bits and pieces of training you had done. You had been just as energetic of a child as your second brother Jake, preferring the outside, the adventure, rather than the books like your eldest brother.
Although, they had both taken extra care to make sure you could take care of yourself. Sure, that ment being able to take down any guy that might creep you out while walking home alone at night and not taking down a guy in a nine foot tall avatar body but : Hey! Is it really that diffrent?
Not only that but you had also taken martial arts classes since you were small, even if your body was in a weakened state from being drugged, experimented on and out of use it didnt mean you would go down without a fight. You couldnt take on the person in the avatar body ; for all your jokes and stress induced confidence you knew it was an impossible feat. But now that Neteyam had granted you this opportunity you wouldnt let it slip away.
You watched the avatar pacing the hall and waited until he was at the other end before hauling yourself up and grabbing a rench that was next to you on the floor. You swiftly began banging as hard a you could on the pipes that lined the perimeter of the room. You didnt cheak but you were sure he had heard it, how could he not have?
Hiding behind where the door would open, you mentally prepared yourself for what you were about to do. You were certainly not this nervous when you took down that lady earlier. But she was much the same height and build as you, this guy was at least three or four feet taller than you and had the na'vi peoples build meaning he was faster, stronger and more agile than a human.
This would be no easy task and you were in a stupid position, if only you could take him down than you would be good to go and you could set the rest of your plan in action. The chances of you actually escaping and surviving would go up ten fold. Unfortunately for you, the sound of his footsteps was almost drowned out by the beating of your own heart in your ears. You felt like all the blood was rushing to your head in anticipation.
You learned how to take down an oponent that was bigger than you but could you take down someone who was that much bigger than you. Especially an opponent who was very very hostile. You would just have to find out.
And you would, as he got closer and closer until he eventually stopped outside of the door to the room you were in. Slowly pushing it inwards, you caught a glimpse of him through the crack in the door where it was hinged to the wall. Your heart leaped into your throat.
A gun.
How had you not seen it when you were looking at him before? Had it been strapped to his back or was he holding it down at his side? You swallowed hard and gulped back your fear. He strode into the room, seemingly fully confident he could take on anything he found within or maybe he thought the clanging he heard was a waste of his time. It was now or never. When he was far enough into the room, with his back still turned to you, you let the door slowly swing closed ; blocking the view of outsiders to what happened within the confines of the room.
Your plan had changed when you saw that gun. It was now your first priority, you had to get it away from the avatar. But the question was ; how? You didnt know, so you would have to do what you did best, not all your hard practiced training like some would think but instead what you were best at was ; improvising. Making the best out of a bad situation, as if what you had done thus far since you had awoken in an unknown and hostile place didnt prove that already.
The alarms that still blared in the distance worked in your favor, so did the frenzied panic of the humans who worked on the ship. It could cover any noise you made or the avatar made in the room, any gun shot, any screams ; At least to those far enough away. Seeing the table that you had gotten the scissors off of and noting how close it was the the avatar, the improvisation of your plan started to play out.
Chucking the rench in the opposite direction of the table to create a distraction you ran to grab the table which was placed behind the avatar. Pushing with all your might, the noise of the legs scrapping off the floor could be heard over the sirens but even so nothing could be done. Before the avatar could turn around to cheak what was happening behind him, having had his attention drawn to the noise the rench made, you had shoved the table against him with as much force as you could muster.
Slamming the avatar into the wall in front of him, the gun dopped out of his hands as he went to brace himself against the impact of the wall. Climbing under the table to grab the gun, it brushed your finger tips as a smile spread out along your features.
You had won.
Sure you probably shouldnt have thrown away your only weapon, the rench, but now you had something even better. You were too flustered to try and grab something else to throw instead of the rench in case he might have seen you and just shot you there and then.
Of course, you were still human though, letting victory go to your head before you had even a full grasp of the gun in your hand. Letting it slip out of your clutches as the avatar kicked it away from you both. The door to the room was fully shut now, blocking you both from the outside. It was just you and him in here, just the two of you, like you were in your own little world. Like you were in hell, where he was the sole victor, the sole ruler.
And as you slowly looked up only to see the table, the only barrier between the two of you, being flung to the other side of the room, by the avatar bodies enhanced strength, it truly felt like that. Slowly crawling backwards, you tried to think of something to do. Maybe you could be fast enough to reach the gun, maybe, just maybe.
Of course not.
What were you thinking?
How could a human ever out run an Avatar? A full grown avatar body and a small human sixteen year old child. It really was no debate. Grabbing you by the back of you neak the avatar yanked your body off of the floor like a rag doll. You felt the pressure on your neak tighten, felt the imprints of his fingers slowly obstructing your airways. You could do nothing but struggle, clawing at his hands, his face, anything you could sink your nails into.
Were you really going to die? When you had just gotten the chance to live once more, waking up from a coma where you were most likly brain dead. It was unfair. Just so unfair. What had you ever done to deserve this. And whats more, by your own species, your own kind, your own people.
Only just then as these though flowed out from your mind he dropped you curtly, seemingly remembering something.
"Shit, i forgot they said not to kill the human." He talked to himself "You really had me going there for a sec Missy, to bad for you" he laughed turning his attention to you now
That seemed to be a mistake on his part since this time he was focused on you so how would he ever see the na'vi teen, whos features had become familiar to you by now, sneaking up behind him. With rench in hand, in one swift motion it was brought up to the avatars height and rammed across the side of his head.
"...Well maybe your not as inexperienced as i thought" you breathed out in relief seeing the avatar body fall slack to the ground
"I think what you should be saying is 'Thank you'" Neteyam responded as he pulled you up from your position on the ground
"Right..." you breathed "Thank y-" you got cut off
"I dont know what you mean by that little miss, since i find you both entirely inexperienced"
Putting Neteyam in a headlock from behind, threatening to snap his neck, the avatar from before continued ; "You really believed that i was knocked out by that pathetic little swing? I should have become an actor instead of doing this job."
Taking out the gun, strapped to your back, that you had previously picked up off the floor and pointing it at him, you didnt hesitate, for fear of retaliation, to pull the trigger.
"Ya, you should of." Were your final words to him, followed by a loud bang
Body going limp, he fell to the floor for good this time.
"Holy Eywa..." Neteyam breathed out in a sigh of relief after being released from the mans grasp "That gave me a fright"
"...Hah, shouldnt you be saying something else?" You questioned recalling his earlier words to you
"Hah...right. You saved me, thank you" he remembered his previous statement
"Just returing the favor" you replied casually with a shrug
You held out your arm towards him, just like how you had when you first introduced yourself to him, just like he had done earlier when he pulled you up off the ground. Only this time when you locked hands you put your forearms together, this time, as the gleem in both your eyes studied the other, it was as a sign of trust. Trust that hadnt been spoken of, or established yet either, until this point. This point, when na'vi and human faded away with their past and there was only two people with equal goals and trust in each other.
Only Neteyam and Y/n, and the last name that they had yet to know they shared. But of course this was bound to happen from the start, you both felt it, even if you both had tried to be cautious and or wary of each other. This was because of something that had been engraved into not only your minds and hearts but also your soul since childhood. One phrase that, unbeknownst to the both of you, subconsciously lingered in both of your minds even now, holding true ;
"Sullys stick together."
¡Mirror! Yoru x Reader
Tumblr media
ive had this idea in my head for awhile, im not sure i executed the prompt exactly how i imagined it in my head. the idea was that reader came across yoru's omega counter part after the alpha earth yoru died, and yoru comes across the readers alpha counter part, whos omega version died. both of which having a romantic relationship with eachother on their earths so when they see eachother after both experiencing their deaths its like them reuniting again except through a different version of themselves.
You knew it wasnt him. Well, in a sense, technically, it was. But it wasnt your him, because it wasnt your Yoru.
It wasnt the boy you spent years getting to know, initial hatred falling into partnership, which slowly fell into lust.
It wasnt the Yoru you slowly had fallen inlove with, or the Yoru you spent every second with in and out of the protocol.
It wasnt the Yoru who didnt come back from the mission you begged him not to go on knowing what the inevitable fate that followed it was.
That Yoru was gone, permanently.
Yet there he was standing within feet of you, tangible.
For a second you couldnt almost believe that it wasnt him, it looked just like him. He definitely shared a face but not the same memories.
He wore the same jacket, and his haired geled up in his same signature style. His eyes full of so much life just as once your Yoru's had.
You were more than aware of what agreeing to these missions intitled to, and that was running the risk of fatefully encountering the version of him that wasn't yours.
It'd break you.
Before coming onto the field, you were sure youd be able to keep your composure. It wasnt gaureenteed omega Earth would deploy his dopple ganger but every mission was a gamble to how you'd react upon seeing him.
You didnt hold together well.
Frozen you just stared at him, as he stared back at you. Similiar expression on his face, pure shock. Almost like he couldnt believe you were standing infront of him.
What felt like hours, which must had been no more the a mere few seconds had gone by you were finally broken from your trance when the enemy Yoru spoke up.
"(Y/N)..?"
Not only did he look like your Yoru, the similiarity in his voice was uncanny.
You couldnt react verbally, instead, gently reaching your hand to his cheek, you softly caress his face. You dont know what possessed you to do such things, after all you were aware that this wasnt your Yoru and you were sent to eliminate any omega agents.
But then again what were you supposed to do, the shell of someone who was once the love of your life, the existence of your being, was standing right infront of you again after being so long apart.
Maybe its because you were scared to lose him again, if you werent to touch him he vanish completely like he once did before.
Though this time when you touched him he wasnt cold. Taking in the warmth against your palm. You couldnt believe you were actually touching him again. You had been longing for feeling his warmth once more, the feeling that had been so wrongfully stripped from you.
To your surprise, he didnt pull away, or even react to your touch. He stood there, unable to fathom the fact that you were standing within inches of him now.
Thats when you lost all composure. You threw your arms around the familiar body, squeezing as tightly as you could.
He didnt hug back.
It wasnt his (Y/N) and he knew that.
Just like he wasnt your Yoru.
But you didnt care if it was him or not. A vessel which resembled him stood infront of you, and that was an opportunity you couldnt pass by.
There was always the chance he could just kill you, instantly. Though you wouldnt mind, atleast youd finally be back with your Yoru if that were the case.
Perhaps everytime you got sent out on one of these missions, that it was the end goal. A part of you desperately wish death would grant you the sweet release of freedom. You wouldnt die corwardly alone like you initially planned, instead a hero on the field just like Yoru had.
There was so much you had to say to him. But to the man you were about to speak to it would be words of obscenity.
He doesnt know you.
He doesnt know.
Reality set in, like a painful punch to the gut. You quickly had released the omega agent, realizing your vulnerable state.
"I'm so sorry Yoru. Im sorry I couldnt be there for you when you needed me most."
But again he didnt say anything.
Face to face now, you could finally see how empty his eyes really looked, lifeless, contrary to what you believed to have seen.
He had experienced the pain and loss just as you once did. Deep down he knew the extent of your pain. The sleepless nights, the endless nightmares.
You both craved the touch of death.
Closing your eyes you slowly await your fate, acceptance and remorse fuel your body. Its your time, you needed it to be your time.
However you await a fate you arent granted.
Nothing but silence accompanies you.
Sheepishly you open your eyes to see Yoru no longer in your presence. Dread, yet a sense of melancholy fills the atmosphere.
It feels like the same person had died twice that day.
t r o u b l e / Chapter Ten
a peaky blinders Modern AU balletcore story?
Chapter List
Previous Chapter (in case u missed it bc tumblr is being weird)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
John
"Don't like this John," hummed Esme where she sat in the bedroom window, her hair wild and long, trailing down her back her curls knotting down to her lower back, brushing over her bare thighs when she turned to look at me over her shoulder. She'd been up half the night with the baby and now that the littlen had finally settled down she was sitting alone watching the dark garden, wearing one of my tshirts, one which had been worn to death and had grown with her baby belly throughout her last pregnancy. She still wore it now, when it was late and she couldn't sleep. She'd taken to sitting in that window all through the night, starring out at the garden like a caged bird, smoking her cigarettes one by one.
"I know love," I sighed stepping up behind her, letting my hands hold her shoudlers, thumbs rubbing over the bones. "Won't be for long, we'll go back to the farm soon..."
"Thats what you say," she said turning back to the garden with the dark shadowy eyes of a girl. A girl pining. Which is what I knew she was. She was restless and she had been for a long time, long before this shit with the Italians. I'd been trying my best on the farm, trying to help her feel free, connected to the earth. I humoured her when she walked out in the garden barefoot, curling her toes into the muddy vegetable patches when it rained. I'd promised her we'd travel, that we'd pack up and take the kids with us, and I'd meant to keep that promise. But now there were other shadows looming over us, and not just over me and her but the whole family. And keeping my promise to Esme would mean betraying my brothers and sisters.
I couldn't even toy with the idea. Of course sometimes the way Tommy was made me want to say fuck it and leave, but the rest of them, no. I couldn't leave Ada and the twins. Couldnt abandon Arthur who needed the family to stay together more than any of us.
And even Tommy, at the end of the day, no matter how cruel he could be, how unfeeling, he was still my big brother. And he wasn't as selfish as he seemed, it just takes a lot to lead a family, especially one like ours. He was just doing his best to be the person steering our battered ship.
"We're never leaving here," Esme said, her voice low and dark and gloomy like the empty garden at night. That expanse of lawn, so tame. That wall of trees just that, a wall that hedged us all in. Marked out our bit of land and kept it ours. A perimeter that  Esme understood, kept her caged.
That was why she spent her evenings starring out at it with dark eyes and a heavy heart. Smoking her cigarettes. Making me feel all kinds of guilt and inadequacy.
"We will flower, just as soon as this is all over, gonna take you and the littlens far away," I said leaning over her, tilting her head right back so that i could kiss her from above. I meant it, in my heart when I said it I meant it but we were neither of us naive and so we both found ourselves looking out at the garden then, whistful and doomed.
This wasn't going to be over quickly. Might never be over at all.
The house was quiet but only just and only for now, the twins had gone to bed, too shaken up for my liking - and I felt guilty for that because I'd aided in the shaking - but Arthur hadn't returned with Ada and I knew that she had all the fight of little Sylvie and all the zeal of having grown up in a shithole like small heath. That is to say I knew she wouldn't be affraid to tell Tommy exactly what she thought of him. How much of a cunt she thought he was.
When our mother had died Tommy had stepped up for the girls because they were only small and suddenly left without a mother or a father to care for them. He'd tried to be that father figure to the best of his ability, which was limited because he'd never really had a sturdy father figure himself. As a result the girls had wound up with this fear of him, that fear only a father can instill. In healthy relationships its known as respect but theirs was a distant and troubled relationship and so fear was the only way of describing it. Ada hadn't had that, didn't fear him and probably wouldn't ever. So I knew that when she got here she'd do the shouting and the fighting for all three of them. Wouldn't give a fuck that it was 4 in the morning and the littluns were in bed, that I was in bed, only just managing to drift off. Would blame me for that, would tell me it straight.
"Ada will stay," said Esme then, "she's not stupid she knows whats at risk..."
"Yeah," I sighed, "its the girls ain't it," I said, "gonna be trouble..." I said and she smirked as if to say 'you don't know the half of it' but I did because every step of the way we'd done everything wrong. We'd sent them away, let them grow up wild in some far away city, in a boarding school that taught them how to lie and cheat their way to the top, taught them they could have everything they wanted if they were cut throat and selfish, if they thought only about where they were trying to go and took wild risks, pushed themselves too far.
And it was obvious looking at Sylvie, that the both of them had taken on board everything that theyd been taught. That they weren't affraid to push themselves too far, test their limits. That they didn't mind their own safety when it came to taking risks to get what they wanted.
And they'd take these risks because we'd always tried to keep them sheltered, always tried to keep them seperate. The twins had never seen their brothers with bullets in their chests, they'd never seen the men we'd snatched from wives and children. They didn't really know what we did with the bodies. They didn't know about the arms severed, the threats sent. They didn't know the things we'd done to our enemies, they thought our wars were all money and talk but they were usually always retaliation to meetings gone sour, deals fucked up, families we'd made the mistake of only half slaughtering.
And because they didn't know any of those things, then they could never really understand what they were risking, what our enemies would do to them, how they would be used, how they'd be tortured.
It wasn't even a year passed since our Aunt Pol had narrowly escaped death at the hands of the Changretta's. They'd had her neck in a noose, left her balanced on her tip toes for days, a sinister act of torture we were all certain had tipped her over the morbid edge she'd been teetering on for years. They'd told her they had all of us, tricked her into believing that whilst she stood their desperately trying to keep her balance, feeling the strain of the noose against her neck every time she faltered, that each of us was fighting for our lives in an equally painful way.
No one knew, not even her, how she'd actually managed to escape. But it hadn't been any of us who had cut her down. Tommy said she must have done it, must have worked out a way to cut the bonds on her hands, to sever the rope around her neck. Polly insisted that it hadn't been. That it had been the ghost of her mother, that now she'd spent several days with death hovering around her, waiting for her muscles to spazm and falter, she could see death all the time. That she could hear the voices of those past, that she could see their shadows lingering around the living.
And though it all seemed a little mellodramatic to me, seemded like rot to Arthur, I could tell Tommy empathised with the darkness. And we couldn't laugh her off because of what she'd gone through. The days of pain, her muscles sore to burning, her adrenaline savaging her body so that when she finally returned home she was a shell of her former self. Something changed behind her eyes.
That was the darkness our fens were risking every time they fought back against Tommy. If they disobeyed him, if we couldn't keep them here, safe with us, well, thered be no ghosts that came to save them.
"Sylvies got her brothers temper," said Esme, her strange impersonal judgements reminding me that they'd never really met. That the wedding had been the first and last time they'd seen one another. So it was all the more strange, all the more uncomfortable.
"Aye but which brother..." I smirked making her laugh, making her dark brooding eyes light up for a moment as she shook her head.
"Well," she let her smirk linger, her dimple etched into her expression so that she appeared impish in the pale nights light, "ain't arthurs is it..."
"Shes nothin like Tommy," I said shaking my head, refusing to believe that that could be true, refusing to believe that there was anything about my brother that could possibly have been passed onto little Sylvia who had always been so wild and sweet.
"They're like our mum," I said trying to reiterate my point. Trying to prove Esme's observation wrong, "I guess you wouldn't see that yknow," I shrugged turning away from the window, pulling my shirt over my head, knowing there was no point trying to get to sleep. Lying down anyway and asked her to lie down with me. For want of nothing else to do.
"Come on love, can't sit in that window all night you'll get cold..."
"What and I spose you're gonna keep me warm?" she asked turning with that clever little smirk, outsmarting me again.
"Aye," I said with a cheeky caught out grin of my own, "Somet like that aye..." I chuckled opening my arms out for her, letting her crawl across the bed to me, that too bed tshirt hanging from her soft curves as she moved feline and feminine over covers to come curl up in my arms.
I kissed her hair and let my hand trail over her thigh, fingers teasing a line up to the hem of her underwear. I knew how to ease her troubled mood, even now when her eyes were dark and I could see that she was worrying.
So we didn't get any sleep, and when Arthur returned with Ada and Karl, their voices ricochetting down the corridors, their disturbance caught me and Esme off guard. Her beanth me, her thighs trembling on each side of my neck as I ground my hips against her hips a little harder than before, burying myself deep inside her.
We'd been close when that front door had slammed and Karl had woken, started crying but the moment Ada's sharp words began tumbling vitriolic and shattering the silent house, we knew it was over.
"Fuck sake," whined Esme burying her face into my neck, clutching at me still, her body clinging tight to mine. She didn't want to let go and I didn't want to pull out and away from her but I knew that any second now Ada would be hammering her fist on that bedroom door demanding to drag me into the battle.
I laughed, let my grin linger because there was nothing else I could do. Just had to keep smirking through it and appreciate the humour of it all, forty fuckin one years old and still being cockblocked by my big sister.
So I accepted my fate, kissing Esme on the nose as I pulled out and she whimpered again. Smirking at her sweetness because it wasn't a side to her that came out very often. Had never been a side she liked to show. One it had taken me a long time to find hidden and secret beneath all those rough and wild layers of defense.
"To be continued," I said pecking her cheek, trailing teasing kisses down her body, leaving one between her legs that made her whine and then push me away, kicking at me playfully as she let out a dissatisfied sigh.
"Fuck sake John," she groaned as she pushed herself up and wrapped the covers around her. "I'm going to sleep, better not wake me up when you get back..." she threatened, her smouldering eyes teasing me, her sullen lips leaving me longing to kiss her again, push her buttons just a little more.
"Oh you'll be awake lass," I grinned, "Ada'll make sure of that..."
And Ada did make sure of that. She'd no patience because despite what he said, Arthur had done nothing to calm her on the journey home and even then, when I came stumbling into the corridor tugging my tshirt over my head, laughing at the drama of it all, Arthur was watching her despairing and nervous.
"Fuckin hell Ada some of us are tryna sleep here, its 4 in the fuckin mornin..." I said still chuckling, knowimg that I was risking her temper and carrying on anyway. I was her little brother afterall, I could get away with it if I tried.
"Perhaps you'd be having an easier night if you didn't always bend over backwards to accommodate our canniving pig of a brother," she said sharply, standing in the hallway lit up by the the little light coming in through the front door and the windows in the cieling.
She looked pale as a ghost and just as cold and I didn't know what to say to her because she wasn't wrong. Wasn't right either. I wouldn't have had an easier night because Tommy would have killed me and then he'd have sent someone else, someone like Isaiah, and then my ghost would have been haunting the halls all eternity with the guilt of having left my little sisters in the hands of someone else.
It wasn't that I wouldn't have trusted Isaiah with my sisters, it was that really when it came down to it, I didn't trust anyone with them. Not even my brothers. Not to do things right anyway.
If Arthur had gone for them he'd have lost his temper because he'd have been scared, because he'd have been paranoid that they didn't respect him, because he'd have been angry at himself for not being able to do as Tommy had asked. For not being the kind of brother his little baby sisters would trust.
If Tommy had gone, then the speech which had brought Sonya to petrified tears in the office that night, would have been given much sooner, with no care for the audience, no care for who was watching, recording or making notes. He'd have lost his temper because he'd have realised they only feared him, didn't respect him. And they were more delicate than either of them liked to let on. Sonya and Sylvia had always been a little less Shelby like our father. Much more like their mother than anyone wanted to admit.
I had noticed it in Sylvia straight away. The thin quality, that washed out pale tone, the greyish brown which shadowed her eyes, which lingered and left her looking tired. Sonya had hidden it better but I'd still seen it there. They were both just so much smaller than they should have been but I knew that if I mentioned it to my brothers they'd tell me I worried too much, that they were tougher than I gave them credit for.
"Ada love come on now eh its late, you'll wake the twins..." said Arthur, all sheepish and tired, one hand on the back of his neck, his features flushed, embarassed to be approaching 50 and still unable to quell his sisters temper. If there was one thing you could say about Ada it was that she'd always been the one to put us in our place. Humble us when we let our position and our reputation get to our heads.
"You care for their wellbeing so much then why in gods name would you drag em back to this fuckin place?" and then she sighed and shook her head, "fuckin go to bed arthur it aint you I need to speak to..."
"Tommys in his..." I trailed off when my eyes met my brothers down the hall, he was walking slowly, a shadow approaching, a cigarette unlit hanging between his lips.
"Ada love," he said making her jump but doing nothing to hush her or shake her determination. "Good to see you made it up safe an sound..." and when I saw his patronising little smile I resigned myself to a sleepless night and a long morning of achey heads and sore throats. Tension bristling.
It was exactly what we got, but not what we didn't deserve.
🔪🦢
"She won't forgive you you know..." said Polly the next morning when it was only myself and her left in the dining room.
Sylvie had left with an angry static buzzing all about her, Tommy had sent her to fetch Sonya and, in his usual tactless charm, had said something so patronising that I was surprised our Fen hadn't torn his head from his neck right in front of us.
"No," I said with a sad smirk, "Fens right, gonna fuck Sonyas whole career up ain't it, poor lass must fuckin hate us..." but when I said it Pol just chuckled and shook her head.
"I wasn't talking about Sonya," she said lighting up her cigarette and drawing in a long leisurely inhale, "Sonya knows she can't go back, I don't even think she's going to put up a fight..."
"Its Sonya who's losing her job not Sylvia," I shrugged a little confused, not understanding when Polly laughed.
"Ha," she said, "stupid lads the lot of you..." she turned her head from me, looking across the dining room and out the window at the gardens where the mist was just beginning to thin.
"What?" I couldn't keep the confusion off my face despite wanting to hide it, I hated it when she made me feel stupid like that, perhaps I deserved it, perhaps I was as daft as she said. Even so I didn't like the fact being highlighted so bluntly.
"Since their mother died those two girls have had only eachother... Their big brothers weren't there were they? In London? Learnt to look after one another didn't they..."
It was painful to hear it from her, our Aunt Pol who has always been the matriarch, the one who looked after us all, the one we all looked up to. She it was painful to hear her tell it so straight, how we'd let them down. How we'd abandoned them. Left two little girls down south on their own, fending for themselves among strangers.
"I should never have let him do that," said Polly then, her voice as dark and gravelly as her eyes, that harsh kind of doom lingering around her like a shadow. One of those auras she claimed to be able to see around people these days.
"When our Tom puts his mind to somet..." I started only to trail off, only to remember that none of us had really fought against it, "we all believed it was for the best..."
"Fools," murmured Pol sucking in another drag on her cigarette, watching the cloud of smoke linger and then disperse just in front of her, "the lot of us."
I think I have severe commitment issues-
So, I've had MANY different partners but I'm just going to talk about the last three. Sophomore year of HS, I was dating this boy and he was the first person in my freshman/Sophomore year that I count but that relationship was...mostly kept a secret from his dad (no mom, I think she died or something....) and he was just...kinda a shitty person. He treated me like shit when we split off, and I don't even know HOW or WHEN we split it off because the night before we were joking around then the next day: nothing. Fast forward to junior year, I come back from being in online school and at the time, t*ump was saying things about LGBTQIA+ rights and I thought as a form of protest-ig-i wore my pride flag to school for a week straight. A group of people came up to me and I felt INSTANT panic, but the person who talked for the small little group is who I ended up falling for-as ironic as it is- we both liked similar things and we exchanged jackets but...I was ghosted once school ended (they were a senior) and then school started again and I saw them. They had credits they needed to make up so that's why they were there, but they had asked me on our first and last date and that Saturday, we went roller skating. I ended up spraining my wrist about midway through the date (I'm usually a good blader I promise, I just stumbled 😭) then after that we didn't talk again. So, my last year rolls around and there's no one. Yes there are crushes but that's all there were. Presently, I'm dating someone who I've known since my sophomore year who used to be friends with both of my ex's. He's wonderful and everything but he talks about marriage and stuff...constantly. he's Christian and we both have been treated badly at some point in our relationship histories. But the thing is, I DON'T WANT TO GET MARRIED. I never really have, I've seen it as a waste of time since I was a kid. He also is going into the reserves and today he had a meeting with the recruiter about the jobs he would do and he refused to do something that departed on our anniversary (Feb. 14th) and to me, an anniversary is just another day but he's been treating it as a big thing since our one month. But the thing is, I don't want to say like "Hey btw I may have commitment issues so can you please tone it down?" BECAUSE THATS RUDE??? AND I DONT WANNA BE A BITCH BUT IM ABOUT TO DISAPPEAR OFF THE FACE OF THE EARTH AND START OVER IF IT CONTINUES, I DONT WANT TO DEAL WITH IT 😭😭
............nvm safe to say I DO have commitment issues. HOW TF DO I GO ABOUT SAYING IT-LIKE WHAT?? WHAT IF HE TAKES IT THE WRONG WAY?? Why can't we just be a situationship. I'd be WAY more comfortable then-
start of the dark timeline
who: Joss In-Ze & Speedster!Jake (@isitrecording) when: Sometime in the future where: Joss’ compound what: Using the speedforce, Jake finds himself in the distant future of a parallel universe and the Joss he meets isn’t the person he expected notes: this was written on discord triggers: mentions of war and murder
They couldn't remember how long it'd been. How long since they'd gone to war. Since he'd died. Since they'd lost the only person who mattered to them. Since the heartbreak gave to an uncontrollable rage. Since they'd taken his collar from his lifeless body and secured it around their own neck, vowing revenge on those who had taken him from them. All they knew was that they'd taken their place as a general with the ease of the soldier they'd been trained to be. And when heroes came to stop them, they took them out without a second thought, without an ounce of remorse. Their hero had been taken from them, they'd take everyone else's.
They were stood in their compound, long hair long since chopped short, scars littered what of their skin could be seen. Looking up at an old familiar feeling they growled. It was Jake, but it wasn't. Their Jake was dead. And yet, he wore the collar that allowed him access to the interior of their compound. "What kind of trick is this?" They spat, moving to grab the speedster by the throat, accidentally turning the collar around his neck on as they pressed him into a wall.
Jake had said goodbye to Joss that morning. He explained that his powers had grown, and that he wanted to explore what he could do. He promised them that he come back to them, even if it took him to time travel back to them. He finally understood what the other speedsters said about a lightning rod, even if he still felt like it was a corny as hell expression. He even wore the collar as he left, knowing it was the key back to his home with them.
The brunette ran into the Speed Force, following wherever it wanted to take him. It was an exhilarating feeling, to be at one with the source of his powers. There was hitch in his journey however, spitting him out somewhere on Earth. It looked like Metropolis, but the skyline was missing buildings. He moved quickly, running towards the one location he knew someone would be.
He phased through the walls into the center most of the compound, just outside Joss's room. It was a familiar shortcut to him, Jake looking around. He ran through the compound, finding his Kryptonian at last. He stopped, smiling wide for them.
Joss pinned him to the wall, an old game. The clock of the collar however ruined the cat and mouse fun that usually followed. "Trick? What trick?!" He asked, his hands moving to theirs. He knew he couldn't use his powers with the activated collar, his holding their wrist. "Its me Joss.. come on, this is hot but not funny."
They growled, shoving him farther against the wall, hand tightening further against his neck. "You're not him! He's dead! I watched him die! I buried him!" They're yelling, rage and grief evident in their voice. "Who are you?! What bastard decided to use you against me?!"
"Joss!" He groaned, their grip tightening far quicker than normal. He didnt know what to say, his heart racing in his chest. "I'm Jake! Jake Smith! I'm not dead, but I'd rather not be!" He moved a hand down, trying to pull at their fingers. "What are talking about?!" His helmet came off, revealing a younger version of the speedster who died in front of Joss.
Their eyes landed on his face. So young. Not the speedster they'd married. The one they'd watched die. Their hand came away from him and they were on the other side of the room in an instant. Their breathing was heavy, erratic. "Where? Where did you come from?"
Jake took sharp breaths, his heart beating faster and faster. He knew they could hear that, but he also knew this reaction. Joss had it before. "Thats... that's complicated. Physically speaking, the front yard." He explained, unable to help a joke. "I don't know what's going on.. I sorta just fell here from where I was."
Joss sighed slumping to the ground, knees pulled up their chest, hand fiddling with the stained collar around their own neck. They'd removed the components that made it an inhibitor and strengthened it by attaching it to a soft leather, wanting to keep it from falling apart on them with time. They tried to laugh at his joke but it didn't particularly happen. "Parallel universe, and/or a long time into the future, if I had to guess. You're barely off regaining your freedom, aren't you?"
"I think it's combination of the two. I'm not sure yet. I've only been here like fiveish minutes." Jake answered, his heart thumping in his chest. "What the helll happened Joss? Not that I dont like the look." He stood up, moving a little closer to them. "Yeah.. I don't know why I'm here." He moved his hands to the collar, a shiny version that was a little different to the one Joss had. "Can you turn this off?"
They sighed, really looking at him. The face, the collar, little details of the suit he wore. They were different. And not in the way time could make you misremember things. "I think you're correct on it being both. As for what happened... that's a very long story and... no, I can't turn that off." Joss didn't want to risk giving him his powers, even a little. Fearing they'd lose this one too. "But, sit, and I'll explain what I can of the world you've found yourself in."
Jake rubbed his head a bit, nodding his head a bit. "I see." He explained, sitting down on the floor across from him. He gave them a small smile, his hand reaching their knee. "I'm here to listen. Cant go much further than the cell and our... your bedroom." He commented. "Are you okay?"
Joss tried to smile, but they couldn't, head shaking as they looked at him. He was so young. He'd yet to have seen everything he'd do to them. The person he'd help turn them into. His version of themself was probably still hardened, keeping fellow Kryptonians locked away like animals in cages to be experimented on. Just barely starting to open up about the pain they held in their chest, the pain he'd help them let go of. "A year after Jake Smith reappeared, Momentum returned. Two years after that, another Kryptonian hero arose to fight at his side. Two more after that, Joss In-Ze married one Jake Smith and it was rare to see Momentum without his Kryptonian other half. And for years, there's peace. Until one  day, tragedy strikes. I was stabbed with a knife laced in Kryptonite. My resistance was enough to save my life, but I was too weak to fight, to save you. I was left there to die, and when I didn't, I swore revenge. And then, I just couldn't stop."
Jake paused as he listened to their story, folding his legs underneath him. His heart broke a little as they described what must of been the future to him, that he got married to the one person he could see a life with. "I'm.. I'm sorry to hear that.. and I'm sorry for your loss.." he said quietly, squeezing their knee gently. He thought about what to say, what he could do. The only thought he had that came to mind was to told them, but that wasn't right. "And then what happened.. when you couldn't stop."
Joss sighed. "War. I've always had an army at  my disposal. Kryptonians, other aliens, people led by my aunt before me. So, I called on them, and I waged war on anyone who dared stand in my way. Kal and Kara were first to try and stop me. To try and reason with me. But I refused to be reasoned with and in time, I killed them. Much as I did every hero who came my way. Endless bloodshed, even now. Violence for the sake of violence. Anything  to make me feel." They looked down at war scarred hands and arms, years of wounds from weapons looking to kill them and missing their mark. "Because that's the thing about a monster. You can put them in a cage, you can teach them how to use their powers for good, but they're still just a monster and one day, they may just snap."
Jake took his gloves off, moving a smooth hand to theirs as they spoke. He squeezed gently, unsure what to do other than listen to them. He shook his head a bit, smiling for them. "I dont think you're a monster.. you night of handled things very... very poorly." Not to mention that monster was the only person capable of getting him home to his Joss. "I'm sorry it went that way..." he leaned in to hug them. "I didnt fall in love and marry a monster.." he added. "How can I help feel better? I know you liked when I dressed up like school girl."
They scoffed as he spoke, shaking their head. He'd said that before too, And for a very long time they'd believed it. They'd believed it until the headlines started rolling in. The ones about a fallen hero turned mass murderer. How easy they'd taken to killing anyone who dared look at them wrong. "No, you did, but it was a monster who let themself be tamed. A monster who, when faced with the loss of the only thing that even mattered to them, reverted to the training they'd been given as a child. Let every ounce of hate and anger and grief take them over, and now..." they sighed, resting their head against his shoulder. "Now I just can't stop. I can't let it go. I've nothing left to hold onto." Joss' head tilted as he spoke about dressing up as a school girl, the faintest hint of a smile crossing their face before falling. "You're so young, that might just feel illegal." Their tone was teasing as they spoke.
"I'm over eighteen. Technically over twenty one too." He smiled, sticking his tongue out a bit. "I see a broken hero.. someone who lost themselves. Not a monster. Not someone who can't change. Joss you're not a monster.. you just were hurting.. call me a young hopeful idiot, but you're not a monster. I promise you that much." He smiled softly. "I like your haircut, it's a great look for you, Professor
"And at this point I could nearly be your parent."  Actually, they weren't really sure they weren't fully old enough to do so, even if you didn't add the years spent in the Phantom Zone. They'd lost so much time since their Jake died, so many years lost to hate and anger and grief. Joss shook their head gently as he spoke. "The world and life has changed me so much more from the person you know. And you're certainly entirely too young to understand that." Joss, felt themself blush at his comment about their hair. "Oh, is that so?"
"I've got a thing for older folks.. and that's hot too. You're a fox." He smiled, moving a little closer to them. He sat next to Joss, his head looking at the ceiling. "And im still figuring things out. Like I was when we first met. But still, things are capable of changing. Everything is. Even someone who is hurt. And yes, your hair is beautiful. It helps you look even more sexy. If that's possible."
They rolled their eyes, running a hand through their hair as they shook their head. He was such a flirt and they'd missed that. Missed him. "There's little hope left for me, even if things changed. Locked in a cell, or forced to stay hidden. The world would never welcome me back, no matter what I were to try and do. There's a point where things are just too far gone to be repaired. That is where I am." Not that Joss didn't spend most of their time locked away deep in their compound anyway, only emerging when things really needed handling. But to know that their only real options were to keep what they were doing or be locked away in a cell someplace, if not outright killed, well, they didn't really have a choice. "You're such a flirt, kid."
"There is always hope Joss.. you showed me that. At least the you I know. Seems like we find each other throughout the multiverse." Jake mused, smiling softly. "Give it time. Time and someone to talk to. Even you need to get stuff off your chest." He nudged them gently. "Always have been, always will be. I would of spanked you if you had been bent over."
"I don't have that." Time, yes, perhaps they had that. But anyone who might otherwise be sympathetic to their cause had either died for it, or were only there out of fear. Giving in, talking to those people, it would ruin them. There was no room left to be soft. And they could so easily hold onto this version of him, like they had all those years ago, but they didn't think their heart could take it. They'd have to allow him to return. Save their other self from befalling a similar fate via their own hands. "And then you might actually have died."
"You have that. You've barely aged like a day." He commented, smiling for them gently. He rubbed their shoulder gently, smiling a bit wider. Their response made him chuckle, leaning into their ear. "Would of been worth any punishment, daddy." He nipped their ear, pulling away a little.
"But I've killed enough people for my face to be known around the world and there's no sympathy for the devil." Because eventually you did reach a point where you'd gone too far for any reasoning or motive that may have once made people sympathetic to you, didn't hold up. And they'd long since passed that. As he spoke against their ear that familiar tingle ran along their spine. They were quickly turning and capturing his lips, hand taking to the back of his neck, lowing the strength of the collar just so as they pulled him into the kiss. Their powers had gotten stronger with time and with use, they were far stronger than the version of themself that he knew. The one held at bay by inhibitors and self-made limits. And maybe this was a mistake, maybe they were just setting themself up to fail, but it had been so long, and he was there and willing. And they'd long since been someone unable to say no to him.
"Sometimes the Earth needs the devil, for they deal with those that God won't." Jake mused, the naive optimist that they met so long ago still there. Their lips met his quickly, his heart being fast. He didn't notice the collar getting lowered, allowing his healing factor through a bit more. He moaned into the kiss, the beauty more insistent, using tricks he didn't know he would like. They left him breathless by the time the kiss broke, his cheeks red.
They grinned at the way he was breathless by the time kiss broke. The way his heartrate picked up because of certain things. Joss knew the body before them more than the person inhabiting it. They knew things about him that he wasn't old enough yet to realize. Had yet to even think  of exploring. And they could use it, and their own increased ability to drive him wild. "I'm going to teach you a lot about yourself, I think." They teased as they bit at his lip.
Jake blushed a darker color as they spoke, looking to the beauty as they nipped his lip. He overlooked Joss, the one who seemed to break when they lost him. It was heart breaking, but their grim was as heartwarming as it always was. "That's the Joss I know.." he returned, moving a little closer to them. He played with the collar on his neck a little, his eyes moving to the ground. "Been a little while since this things on.. guess I'm at my Daddy's mercy."
They can't help the grin at his words, something about it hitting them someplace just shy of emotional. Joss watched the way he played with  the collar around his neck, obviously not used to having himself be restricted anymore. He'd remember, though. What it's like to be at their mercy. To be under their control. With a smirk they were pushing him over with ease, moving so they were holding him down by the shoulders, even as their legs were off the ground. A trick they'd picked up over the years. "You certainly are, baby girl. And Daddy has a lot more tricks up their sleeve. Ways to make you squirm."
Jake blushed a little at the grin Joss had, a visage of they used to be dancing along there face. It would be an adjustment for him, being in a different time and place. They were the only one who knew he existed, and maybe that was for the best right now. The return of Momentum in a universe where hes dead would draw a lot of questions, and who knew who might of been observing the planet. He was drawn out his thoughts by the alien pushing him over, their tight grip holding him against the cool floor of the compound.  He blushed a little at the familiar name, taking him back to the first time Joss found him at his hideaway cabin. "Do you now, Daddy? I'm excited to see what you've learned.."
The Guardian angel
sleeplesswriter
Summary:
So this AU is after Alois died, but instead of loosing his soul, and Claude dying. Alois became an angel, and Claude.. well Claude is still his demon since he didn't get his soul, so now Claude a Demon is working for an Angel.. his literal opposite. However everything else that happened in season 2 happened in this AU. The demons lying, Alois being in Ciel's body all that happened. Expect no one died.
Anyways, Alois made Ciel's guardian angel when Ciel is 18?! What could go wrong with that~! Will he even remember Alois and Claude, Sebastian surely will.
Notes:
Oh boy i'm so nervous right now. I normally write on wattpad but i felt the need to write this story on here, this is also my first story on this website and i'm doing all the typing my phone because I do not have a laptop. Anyways feedback would be great!
This is gonna mostly be Alois's P.O.V
(See the end of the work for more notes.)
Chapter 1
Chapter Text
After 2 years of endless training, then 3 years for them to finally think i was ready to train to be a Guardian Angel. I finally get to know who I'll be helping. As i walked Claude was behind me. I suppose i should explain what a demon is doing in Heaven.
Well since he didn't get ahold of my soul like he had wanted to, and unless he gets a soul he wouldn't be going anywhere so unless he gets a soul he's stuck with me. Even though i do not need a demon, but i will help him get a soul i suppose.
I walked to the place i was suppose to go and find out who my human was. I walked up to God and he looked at me "Trancy." I smirked and waved. He rolled his eyes seeing as i was wearing my outfit i wore before i became an angel.
I hate cloth so the less cloth the better. That was just how i was ever since Claude... saved me? The angels hated thay about me but the rumor was that was why i was chosen to be an angel. Something about 'knowing something about pain' or i dunno i never payed attention to rumors.
God cleared his throat "Demon" he greeted Claude, and Claude gave a small nod toward him staying behind me. "Anyways, Alois we have found a human and well you already know him." he said in a calm voice.
I just looked at him "Just tell me old man" i rolled my eyes waiting to know, i mean I knew a lot of people when i was a alive.
I was to busy thinking who it could be when i heard the name i wish i hadn't heard "Ciel Phantomhive." I looked up at him confused. i'm suppose to save someone who took the side of two demons. The human who trusted a demon.?
"WHAT!?" I yelled "He is the reason i'm even here! That bratty child is the reason im dead, Hell Claude should have my soul but nooo here he is in fucking heaven waiting for me to get a human so he can find a new soul to take!" i growled
"You will be Ciel's angel and thats the end of it Alois!" He glared down at me "Now you will being going to meet him... now." he snapped his fingers and i was on earth.
I looked down at myself in the window of the phantomhive manor. I was me but i looked 18 as Ciel was suppose to be. I glared when i realized that i was back in the white cloths.
I shook my head I'll have to change later first i have to meet Phantomhive. Hmmm i wonder if he'll remember me or not. I'm sure he demon will. I smirked. "Claude wont this be..." i turned around and saw Claude was gone. Of course he'd disappear the second we got to earth but he is forever bound to me.
I walked to the door and just walked in. No point in knocking the only one who'll know someones here is Sebastian unless i run into one of the others.
I was soon against the wall "Oh what do we have here." Sebastian looked at me "Alois Trancy It's been awhile." I smiled.
"Hello Sebastian indeed it has been awhile." i chuckled He let go of me and i fixed my cloths. "And you must be wondering why i am here Sebastian?" He just nodded and waited for a reply "Well you see i am Phantomhives guardian angel" i said in a bored tone.
"You're what?" i looked at me "You're my young masters new guardian angel" i just nodded. "Oh great. This is great!" he rubbed his face
I just shrugged "I don't make the rules" I clicked my tongue. "But i really should go find Phantomhive." i tired to move pass him and he stopped him.
"he will not remember you, i mean you arent in your 14 year old body." he looked at me and i shrugged.
I shook my head "That does no matter i just need to let him know who i am and why i'll be around." I smiled at him and slipped away. Hmm if i remember Ciel's office is this way.
I walked up to door and took a deep breath. Oh i'm not ready but alwell. I opened the door "Hello Phantomhive~" I looked at him as he looked at me
"Oh god are you a angel?" he looked up from his paper work as i walk over.
"Yup, actually i'm your guardian angel." i smirked and sat upon his desk "such a pity you don't remember me" i pouted "I figured since it is your fault i'm an angel you'd know who i am."
Ciel looked at me "Get off my desk" he glared "I have killed a bunch of people for the queen, sorry that i am not able to keep track of everyone." he rolled his eyes and went back to work "Besides why would you be my Angel if i am the reason you're dead."
"Hmm maybe if you knew my name you'd rememeber." i chuckled "Also I'm not sure why im your angel i questioned it as well." i shrugged. He has picked up his cup of tea when i finally said my name "Alois Trancy is my name"
He dropped his cup "Alois Trancy!" I just chuckled and nodded.
Chapter 2
Summary:
Alois has told Ciel he is HIS angel. Now what will Ciel's reaction be expecially know who Alois is amd what had happened 5 years ago. Maybe he will be calm about it, i mean he is 18 now. not his naïve 13 year old self.
Also what happened to Claude?
Chapter Text
I sat on his desk as the cup of tea dropped. I chuckled "Well that.." i stopped midsentence since he stood up.
"What kind of sick joke is this?" He glared at me "Is this your way of getting back at me for your death?" He yelled "Because this is so pittyful. I do not need a guardian angel." he said "I have Sebastian i do not need some angel around too." he glared at me.
I started laughing "Awh does Ciel Phantomhive. The Queens Guard Dog upset about someones death?" I looked at him "Now thats pittyful, Phantomhive." I rapped my arms around my stomach laughing. Once i finally calmed down. Ciel was glaring at me.
"This however was not my idea. This was." I pointed up "The big guys idea." I shrugged "I wasnt so happy either. I honestly wanted nothing to do with youm" i rolled my eyes.
Ciel shakes his head "I am not upset with your death." he mumbles and turned around walking toward the window. He had gotten hotter over the pass 5 years. I got off the desk and walked over towards him.
"You don't have to deal with me i'll just around when I feel like you need my help." I shrugged and chuckled "Besides i'll have Claude around." If he shows back up anyways.
"Claude is still with you!" Ciel gasped and looked at me. I just nodded my head "How?" he asked.
"He didn't get my soul and since he hadn't he is now stuck with me." I mumbled. all i heard was a soft 'oh' from him. "Anyways tell me what you want me to do Phantomhive. Stay here or go away?" i looked at him.
Ciel looked at me "I suppose you could stay here." he turned around and started walking toward the door "Now go ask Sebastian what you can do around the manor, you're sure in hell not staying her without helping out a little bit." I just nodded "Thats all" he pointed to the door
I just walked out of the room without another word. I went downstairs to find Sebastian. As i was walking toward the kitchen i heard an explosion. "What the hell?" I walked into the kitchen to see someone putting out a fire. I shook my head and walked back out. This is where i'll be until Phantomhive dies.
I walked right into Sebastian "Ahh just the demon i was looking for." i chuckled "Ciel said to find you and ask what im suppose to do around the manor." He looked at me and just nodded before saying "I will tell you when i figure that out myself. For now i must go found out what Baldroy has done and try and fix it before its completely messed up." I just nodded and started to walking around to see whats all around the manor.
The first place i went was the garden. As i walked around i found a bench and laid down on it looking up at the sky. It's been so long since i was about to be on earth and i missed it so much.
I closed my eyes letting the sun beat down on me. It felt so nice. That was until someone was standing over me. I opened my eyes to see Claude standing over me "Hmm i thought you'd be gone longer then a few hours." I looked at him and chuckled.
Claude just looked at me and sat down by my head "I'm sorry for leaving so suddenly I had... things to do." i just nodded my head and put my head on his lap and said "It's fine i'm not mad, i knew it was going to happen." i smiled up to him
I closed my eyes again as Claude ran his fingers through my hair. I must have fallen asleep because next thing i rememeber was Claude shaking me "Alois, Sebastian is here to tell you what you'll be doing around here." I rubbed my eyes and sat up.
Sebastian stood there "So you will be helping with a little bit of everything, so whoever need help you'll help." he said looking at me and i just nodded "Okay" i yawned and leaned against Claude.
"So it is almost dinner time so i would like you to help since Baldroy is... resting from earlier." I stood up and followed him into the kitchen to help make dinner. I was new to cooking so i hope whatever we are making turns around good and edible.
Once we were done Ciel was walking to the dinning room. Sebastian brought out the food and served the food. I wasn't sure what i was suppose to do so i just walked out of the room and stood outside.
I looked over and saw Claude walking down hall. I huffed "Claude we really need to get cloth that are so... white..." i looked down at myself "White isnt my color." i stuck my tongue out and said 'Bleh'. I heard him chuckle "Very well Alois."
"We can go tomorrow." he said and i just nodded. He came over to me and kissed the top of my head. You see Claude and I got really close the pass 5 years.. Really. Really close.
I smiled softly at the demon and he walked off when Sebastian and Ciel came out of the room. Ciel gave me a look and then walked away "Sebastian I will be in my office." he then turned around "Please tell Claude and Alois where they will be sleeping, or atleast staying in." he chuckled and walked up the stairs.
I looked at Sebastian and he started to walk toward the stairs "Follow me." I just nodded and followed him up the stairs to a room all the way on thr right side at the end of the hallway. He opened the door and there was two beds even though demons don't sleep.
"This will be Claude and yours room." I just nodded and went inside the room. I went and sat down on the bed. Sebastian left the room to go to Ciel.
I laid down on the bed and cuddled the pillow that was on the bed. I missed being alive so much. I sighed and closed my eyes.
I may as well attempt to sleep because who knows what tomorrow will bring, besides i'm sure Claude is gonna be doing his own thing until we go and get new cloth for tomorrow.
I closed my eyes and soon fell asleep.
Breaking news: local artist finally finishes another fic he started and actually tried his best ( also breaking news: i actually write fics, i just dont finish many of them :') )
Anyways here is a little thing i wrote ( quite badly but i tried ) about the Idea of "Dream is small but he still get to keep his memories"
Its so hard to edit the story on Tumblr mobile what ;-;-
Btw i forgot mostly of what happened in OSD so It might be a little strange sorry-
Anyways, OSD belongs to @calcium-cat
Pain, thats all Dream felt for a moment, he twisted and shifted, trying to make the pain go away, even If It was for a while, It was also really dark too, he has no Idea what Night made him drink, but he doesnt feel good.
He felt panic as he noticed his conscience slipping away, as he panicked around, he felt a huge pain going through his entire body as he fainted.
After moments, he woke up again, as he slowly got up, he kept hissing at the pain that still jolted through his entire body:
-"Ugh, this sucks" thought the little guardian, "I wonder what Night gave me", as he thought, he opened his eyes slowly and blinked a few times before brushing his hands on his face to try and stir himself more awake, but he swears his hands felt...different.
As he opened his eyes, he took a glimpse at his hands, his tiny gloved hands looked smaller than usual, he turned around slowly to find his oversized clothes laying around him, and the clothes he was wearing weirdly looked like the clothes he wore when he was younger, as the realization crept in, Dream slowly realized what just happened, as panic began to grow inside him, he nervously touched his own hand and face while searching for a mirror.
It didnt take long before he found a small, partially broken mirror laying around the room he was in:
-"...It's becoming increasily obvious...I can deny It no longer…"
And, with a tired and defeated breath, Dream spurted out:
-"I am small"
Dream sat back while crossing his arms, how on earth would he even survive here with this size? he needed to come up with a solution fast, before anyone dangerous come-
*click*
Dream's eyes widen at the sound of the door being opened, as he panicked inside, he quickly jumped somewhere to hide, and for now, he needed to be careful to not be spotted.
-"Ugh, now to see how Dream is-"
Night paused, looking at the clothes laying around, It was silent, too silent, he walked over and grabbed a fistfull of Dream's present cape as he began searching for any trace of Dream, but his expression slowly began changing from a calm and neutral face to a worried and panicked one, he moved on from the clothes and began to search around the room, Dream cant be dead right? It was only a magic repressor he gave him after all.
Dream quietly watched from afar, and with a determined face, began to crept closer to Nightmare, ready to jump out and hopefully succeed to escape, a moment passed before Night got a surprise attack from a screaming skeleton toddler, he climbed Night in a rush while he was trying to get Dream out with force, and eventually, the guardian was caught by one of Nightmare's tentacles, as the cyan eye began analizing him, Dream tried to angrily break out of the tentacle's grasp, constantly trying to bite and punch It, It was quickly getting tiring.
Night watched the toddler scream and struggle silently, his face with an serious expression, Dream quickly looked at him angrily and tiredly as he spoke out:
-"Night...I will..ugh...I will break free, let...let me go"
Night listened silently and looked to the side like he was thinking, and with a wide grin, Night answered Dream's request:
-"...no"
Dream gave a tired sigh at the response as the silence between them remained, well, until a particular oreo came in the room in a rush:
-"Night are you ok? I heard screaming-"
Cross paused and stared at the scene, Night holding a toddler that looked like Dream on his tentacles and the toddler looking defeated and tired, It also looked so dirty too, Cross looked at Night silently and confused, Night sighed as he started:
-"Cross, believe It or not, this is Dream...yeah, i know its confusing, and i dont exactly know what happened to him, but trust me, its him"
The toddler tiredly looked up at the ex-royal guard, and shot him a tired but "ready-to-attack" glare, he knew he couldnt actually do much, but he could at least try.
Cross quickly spoke up:
-"...ok? Soooo you have no Idea what happened to him and he is just a toddler now", Night nodded calmly as the toddler looked seriously to the side, at this point, Dream just wanted to sleep, or at least take a nap, and the tentacle had a really tight grip so struggling was quite Impossible.
Night glared at Dream and gently approached him with a wide grin on his face, as Dream looked at him motherfuckerly:
-"awwww, the little kid right here wants to take a nap?" Said Night mockingly.
"No, i dont, let me go Night" spat Dream rudely.
"Not happening little pal, you're staying here until i decide what to do with you" grinned Night maliciously
Dream stayed silent at Night's response, but still kept glaring angrily at Night.
-"anyways, perhaps we should introduce our new pal here to the rest of the team since It might take a while for us to decide what to do, shall we?"
-"yeah, sure"
As Night walked towards the door, Dream looked at Cross with such a serious look that surprised Cross a little, he didnt expect the toddler to suddenly look at him while he follows Night, Cross glared at Dream back, but this only seemed to make Dream look offended, they both kept "fighting" with shooting each other daring and sometimes offensive looks.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
-"stop hitting me!"
Cross was having a hard time with bathing Dream, it seems that the little guy wouldnt give up so soon, It would be a miracle If he even behaved a little, but everytime Cross tried, Dream kept hitting him as hard as he can, and he also seemed very panicked whenever Cross succesfully held him, and then resorted to squirming and throwing water at him, honestly, Cross just wishes this would end soon.
-"I will not stop fighting!, leave me alone at once foul wench!"
Cross looked at him silently as Dream looked back with equal seriousness, they both stayed in silence until Cross handed him the soap and the sponge, as Cross tiredly got up to leave, Dream whispered at him silently:
-"......thank you"
Cross looked back at him with a questioning look, as Dream seemed to ignore the glare, he silently looked away as he left the bathroom, but not before whispering back:
-"......yeah...no problem"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Cross was eating his dinner happily, well, until Night requested him to call Dream for dinner, since he didnt come down from his room for a while, Cross lazily walked towards the room Dream was given, and then knocked on the door a few times:
-"Dream? You there buddy? Come eat dinner, hope you like soup"
The bedroom stayed silent, Cross knocked a few more times:
-"ok buddy listen, im not joking, Night is telling me to come and get you to get down for dinner"
A faint shuffling was heard from inside the bedroom, Cross waited a while before deciding to turn around the doorknob and opening the door.
All he saw was a little toddler cuddling to the blanket It was given, It looked rather happy and comfy there, but It quickly opened his eyes to stare at Cross, and in turn, shift to sit on the comfy bed he was on:
-"ah, you have returned, welcome back" greeted Dream tiredly.
Cross stared at him confused, why would he even greet him after all of the chaos that happened today, perhaps he was so tired that he gave up on the thought of attacking him? Well, If thats the case, then at least he wont have to deal with a angry Dream.
Cross approached Dream slowly and quite cautiously, as Dream looked at him boredly, the blanket he was holding was quite fluffy though.
-"um, ok so, Night told me to get you to come down for dinner, now answer me, do you like soup?"
-"...hmmmm yeah sure, soup is nice"
-"uh right"
The silence was quite awkward, Dream seemed like he calmed down, but there was still a bit of cautiousness in him, seems like they werent getting his trust so soon.
-"...so, will you come down?"
Dream looks down, thinking carefully and silently before a grumbling sound coming from his stomach (???) broke the silence, Dream got spooked by the sudden sound and made a scared squeak because of It.
As Dream took some time to calm down from the sudden spook, he slowly stared at Cross:
-"...fine, I'll come down"
-"good, follow me, or dont, its your choice"
As Cross made his way to the door, Dream quickly got down from the bed and let go of the blanket he was holding at the entire conversation, following after Cross silently.
Tumblr media
Part of the Alien!JK series!
Catch it | Hold it | Keep it | Save it | ???
Tumblr media
Jungkook's and your relationship slowly became.. more and more intimate you could say.
He'd openly talked about his romantic interest in you several times before, and you've grown quite fond of him as well over the course of time. You've learned that Alcorians had no understanding of sarcasm whatsoever, and typically spoke quite bluntly and openly about what they thought. It was seen as charming if you were able to speak without holding back anything, and it was something your shy self had to get used to first. Jungkook however had studied quite a lot about humans however, so by now, he was a self-proclaimed expert in human behavior. You had to admit though, he did do his homework.
Whenever Namjoon was over to check up on you, (something he had to, since it was a rule made by the alcorian government to check up on humans every month to make sure they're treated well) Jungkook proudly explained to him what he'd learned about your kind, almost like a kid showing a new drawing. He even went out to find cookbooks that described human desserts and treats just to learn how to make some of your favorite thing. It was endearing, really.
You also found out more layers of his personality.
He was incredibly sensitive to smells and fabrics, all of his blankets having a specific soft but not too soft feeling to them. He liked sweet and gentle smells, and always told you that your 'main smell' as he called it, was absolutely his favorite. Alcorians had heightened senses Namjoon had explained to you, which was why Jungkook easily picked up on things that you stayed oblivious to.
He loved if you wore his jackets or sweaters, and he most recently bought you a delicate locket bracelet with his information on it. It was beautifully made and looked great- but you still wore the collar he'd give you most of the time. When he'd asked you once you had explained to him that it was a comfort thing for you- other alcorians could easily spot that you were claimed, and wouldn't look at you funny. He'd smiled at that, and had also made sure to hug you a lot that night.
It took him a while to grow confident enough in his own ability to restrain himself during the night to let you sleep in the same bed as him. He'd been absolutely scared shitless that he'd roll you over in his sleep, but you'd assured him that he didn't move that much, so it would be fine. What he was still completely terrified of, it seemed like, was intimacy.
Now, you both had been getting as far as kissing. He loved the gesture, and loved to kiss you randomly during the day- that wasn't the issue. But whenever you tried to get him to do something more- he found some reason to simply book it before he could let himself be swept away.
And you were growing frustrated.
It wasn't that you couldn't wait for it, or that you were desperate- you could definitely give him time, if he'd finally tell you clearly if he even wanted that with you. If you thought about it, you didn't even know if Alcorians had sex like humans. Maybe they didn't do it like that, maybe they had some odd form of ritual or whatever- you had no idea, and you refused to talk to namjoon about it of all people. You knew that he would probably explain it to you, in quite detail since alcorians were like that, but you somehow wanted Jungkook to explain it to you instead. Yeah, maybe you should ask him about it- or maybe you could be difficult.
So as you laid on the bed that was way too big for you, you simply let your mind wander, having a bit of time for yourself. And as any sex-deprived human being, you decided to let your fantasies take over your mind, uncaring about Jungkook- since he'd been out for a bit, meeting up with a friend he'd said.
You wondered what he'd look like. In a lot of ways, alcorians were very similar to humans- but you somehow had a feeling that there had to be something different about their anatomy if you couldn't reproduce like Namjoon had once mentioned. Judging from his accidental boner a few days ago, you had quite the suspicion that he was.. well packaged, to say the least. He'd been a bit embarrassed about it when you'd shyly pointed it out, and ever since then, he'd made sure to get up earlier than you to avoid you seeing his morning wood, something that you'd told him was completely normal, and not at all something to be ashamed of. He seemed a bit nervous every time you brought that topic up, however, which did make you wonder.
Maybe he just wasn't into you like that? Or maybe he was a rough person in bed. The thought of that made your spine shudder, a spark igniting inside you as your mind came up with images of his hands holding your wrists above your head, those sweet lips of his tracing your skin and leaving prints of invisible fire behind. Your hand slowly wandered lower, fingers pushing against your clothed core as you practically heard him purr into your ear how good you were being for him. Was he possessive? Was he dominant? Or was he gentle and sweet? You couldn't know.
"Y/N I-" He suddenly stood in the door, making you yelp as you quickly pulled the covers over you. A useless action really, since you didn't even get to undress yourself- thankfully. If he would've arrived any later, it would've been so much more awkward. "Are you okay?" He asked, genuine and almost innocent concern in his voice as he looked at you.
This was so fucking awkward.
You could practically feel your cheeks heat up as the embarrassment hit you, realization that you almost masturbated in his bed of all places taking over your mind as you tried to come up with something to talk yourself out of it. "Yeah, yeah! Nothing wrong just eh.. tired." You said, not meeting his gaze as his brows furrowed, now fully taking you in.
You were shy about something, that much he knew. He'd studied your body language by now to a point were he knew that you were okay, but uncomfortable. Your cheeks were tinted a flushed pink, eyes not meeting his as you squeezed the sheets in your hands, legs underneath the covers moving restlessly. His eyes widened as he finally took in every aspect of the situation. Your breath was still a bit quicker than usual, the shyness, and the smell that hung in the air.
"Were you.. pleasuring yourself?" He asked, pupils dilated now that he had connected the dots. You'd been touching yourself in his bedroom, on his bed, while he hadn't been there. Why would you do that? Did you not want him like that? Did he make you uncomfortable?
"I uh.. Oh god this is so awkward." You said, dropping your face into your hands as Jungkook stepped closer, before sitting on the bed, across from you.
"Namjoon had explained to me that humans do that to feel good." He said, gaze never wavering from you as he continued. "But he also said that you only do that when you don't have a partner." He continued, now leaning forwards a bit, voice a bit whiny as he seemed confused. "You have me though? Why would you do that alone if you have me?" He asked, and you just wanted to disappear as you bit your lip, trying to explain it to him without making it sound awkward.
"Jungkook we.. we do that to mainly feel close to, you know, romantic partners." You explained, making his brows furrow even further. "Humans don't, you know, always need to go the full way." You said, as he intently listened. "Touching each other is also a way to feel close." You said, and he suddenly seemed hurt.
"So you don't see me as a romantic partner, is that it?" He said, and you could've sworn, if he had dog ears they would hang low right now with the look he has on his face. "You don't like me enough." He finalized, as you shook your head frantically.
"No Jungkook, I do like you, more than anybody just-" You tried, as his eyes got a bit more hopeful. "Its just hard to explain-" You started, as he cut you off.
"Teach me then. Show me." He said. "I want to know the human way." He almost pleaded, as you sighed.
"Jungkook, its not like I don't want to teach you.." You started, as you looked down. "We humans get uhm.. attached really quickly if we do that with a person. It's like giving away a part of yourself, you know?" You said, and he suddenly grew gentle, now fully realizing what you were on about.
"I-" He began, as he suddenly almost looked shy. "We couldn't do that anyways." He confessed, as you looked at him in question. "I'd hurt you. Thats why I want to, you know, touch you." He explained to you, a finger hesitantly running over the skin on the back of your hand. "I want to be as close to you as I can without having to worry about hurting you.." He murmured, as you took his hand in yours.
"You'd never hurt me Jungkook. I trust you-" You began, but he suddenly shook his head, serious expression on his face as he avoided your gaze.
"No." He said, slowly getting up. "Let's forget this conversation happened, okay?" He said, and you watched helplessly as he left the room. "I'll uhm.. go start dinner." He threw your way before leaving you alone with your thoughts.
Things were tense between you and jungkook these days.
So tense in fact, that Namjoon noticed it.
"So, I'd say you're quite healthy. Jungkook takes really good care of you I see." He said with a gentle smile, making you reciprocate it in good manner. "However, I kind of have to address the elephant in the room here, as humans would say." He said, and Jungkook furrowed his brows.
"Who or what is an elephant?" He asked, and you giggled at that.
"Doesn't matter. What does however is, that I sense something wrong between you two." Namjoon said, as Jungkook suddenly got very defensive. In all honesty, it shocked you a bit, since you've never seen him like that before.
"That doesn't concern you at all Namjoon." He said, as the elder one suddenly shook his head.
"It does if it affects Y/N's mental health, which it could, in the long run." He stated, making Jungkooks eyes widen.
"Namjoon- I'm fine-" You tried, a hand reaching out for his shoulder as Jungkook dashed forwards, prohibiting you from touching him as he held your hand, a bit too tightly as you whinced, making him snap out of whatever daze he seemed to be in. He however, seemed surprised as well at his outburst.
"That's what I mean." Namjoon said, putting his equipment away. "Have you two had intercourse yet?" He bluntly asked, and you looked at him scandalized, as if he'd just told you your mom was fat. Jungkooks pupils contracted again at that, ready to bark back an angry comment, as Namjoon pushed against the youngers chest. "I assume you didn't, judging by that reaction." He commented, making you want to hide. Why were alcorians so.. blunt. "Jungkook, you either have to find yourself a partner, or I'll have to take her out of your care soon." He stated, and you almost gasped as Jungkook suddenly grew tense as well.
"W-why, you just said I take good care of her-!" He argued, making Namjoon nod.
"You do, but at the same time-" He said, gaze pointing at your now red wrist hidden with your other hand. "-but you're also a danger to her as long as you are as frustrated as you are now." He explained, making jungkook grow serious. "I can't help you with that decision. However, please keep in mind that you're not the only ones that have this form of romantic involvement. What keeps you from involving yourself Jungkook?" He asked the younger, who didn't dare look at you in that moment.
"I'll hurt her Namjoon-" He said, frustrated. "And I honestly really don't want to talk about my sexual involvement with her, thank you very much." He grumbled out between gritted teeth, eyes holding an almost aggressive stare as he looked at the elder one.
"You mean your lack thereof." Namjoon dared to say with a raised eyebrow, as Jungkook suddenly jumped up, grabbing the older one's bag and walking towards the door as he opened it with force, face clearly showing that he'd just crossed a line for him.
"I mean that it's time for you to go, Namjoon." He pressed out, as Namjoon sighed, getting up to walk out, getting no time to say goodbye.
It was probably better that way anyways.
Tumblr media
Things did not get better after this.
Just like Namjoon had worried about, Jungkook slowly became more and more jumpy around you, leaving you alone more and more, as if he needed to distance himself from you. Did he finally grow tired of you? Did he really suffer? Maybe you should just leave him alone for a bit you decided, walking out of the apartment and down the busy streets of the town, aimlessly walking around as you watched other alcorians go after their day. You saw couples, alcorian and mixed, walking hand in hand or simply side by side, an elderly pair watching some young kids running around with a balloon like toy, and a group of friends it seemed, happily chatting away. You spotted some streetfood, sighing internally at forgetting your tiny wallet Jungkook had given you, always containing a bit of money so you could buy yourself a snack whenever you went out. You watched as some uniformed teenagers ran towards the train station- or something that looked quite similar. It worked a bit differently, but Jungkook had once explained that alcorians had been monitoring human inventions for centuries now, taking a lot of inspiration from them.
It all felt a bit sad to you now.
Maybe you were finally growing homesick after your months of living here, or maybe it was the added fuel of Jungkooks slow but steady detachment from you that simply hurt you. But it made you feel almost hollow, and you decided you hated that feeling.
All of this felt so surreal to you.
First you loose your home, then your entire planet, and now you were close to being alone again. Why did that make you so upset though? You'd been living on your own for years now, only having fleeting friendships and a single puppy love back in school. You had no intentions of growing attached to someone, you'd sworn yourself to be independent when your mom had thrown you out years ago- but here you were, almost crying over an alien boy who'd took you in simply because he'd taken pity on you. It all felt like a sick joke.
Something in your pocked buzzed, making you snap out of your thoughts as you fished for the device, Jungkooks face smiling at you as it showed him calling. You wanted to accept the call as if out of habit, but you resisted. Maybe it was better not to.
You put it away again, getting up from the bench you'd been sitting on as you continued walking towards nowhere, suns slowly dipping low as the skies became purple and fiery red, signaling the return of night. You should turn around by now, you knew this. Alcorian nights were not only chilly but downright icy- way too cold for your fragile body, as Jungkook always said before wrapping one of his scarfs around you.
The steady buzz in your pocket was getting annoying, as you took it out, only to see that he didn't call. In fact, he'd been writing messages? Jungkook never texted.
'Where are you little one?'
'Are you mad at me?'
'Did I do something wrong? I swear I didn't mean to!'
'Please, its getting dark, where are you? Are you wearing your coat at least?'
'I'm sorry, whatever I did, please. I'm worried little one!'
You looked at the messaged with increasing guilt as another one rolled in.
'Please come home.'
You sighed, dialing his number as you wrapped your unoccupied arm around yourself, the chill now seeping into your bones slowly. Jungkook almost immediately picked up, voice breathless as if he'd run a marathon. You could faintly hear people talking in the background, and his boots on the ground as he.. ran?
"Finally! Please, where are you, I'm so worried-" He said, and you slowly felt your teeth clatter against each other as you shivered.
"I uh.. I don't know, honestly." You admitted, and Jungkook seemed to stop in his tracks.
"What do you see around you?" He asked, voice serious as you looked around.
"I- a small store, but it seems closed. There's like, a road and uhm.. a lot of plants. Looks like a forest?" You said, before something caught your eye. "There's uhm.. Something looking at me?" You said, and Jungkooks inner alarm bells were immediately ringing.
"Is there a sign that says 'Malvor' on it?" He asked, and you confirmed with a worried voice.
"Yeah uhm and- there's a dog-like thing now walking towards me?" You said, and Jungkook answered instantly.
"Dog..? Dog-! Y/N, get away from it, but dont run." He said seriously, making you swallow as you watched the creature with huge ears stalk towards you, visibly interested. It didn't seem all that harmful. "Little one, answer me. Did you get what I said?" He asked, and you answered.
"Yeah yeah I got it eh.. I'm.." You started, as suddenly, the.. dog? Whatever it was, jumped forwards, making you drop your phone as its teeth latched onto your shirt, quickly loosing interest in the fabric as it decided to take your arm instead- spiky teeth immediately breaking skin as you yelped out, trying to open its mouth with your unoccupied hand. The commotion was loud enough to lure out an alcorian man nearby, who gruffly threw stray pebbles at the animal, scaring it off after a moment.
"Fuck- are you okay?" The stranger asked, bright cateyes looking down at you as he turned around. "Joon! Come down!" He yelled, as you looked into the direction with teary eyes, spotting- Namjoon?
"Oh Y/N- what happened?" He asked, suddenly visibly worried as he looked at you, immediately helping you up and leading you inside the house nearby that seemed to be his apartment. He looked different, now that he didn't wear his work attire. He almost looked domestic. "Set her down there, I'll go get a first aid kit." He said, before you were led to sit on a couch, the person that threw pebbles before sitting down next to you.
"I'm Jin. We'll fix you right up, okay?" He softly said, voice gentle and reminding you of the store owner down on earth who always let you roam around inside the store during winter. "Don't cry, it's gonna be okay. Encounters with Velvens can be scary yeah?" He consoled you, hands holding your arm gently as he waited for Namjoon to get everything he needed. You sniffled, trying not to cry, but it got harder the more you tried not to look down. As soon as you did, you began to feel nauseous as Jin pulled at your chin. "No no no don't look sweetheart." He said, before Namjoon came downstairs.
"These things are getting progressively more daring these days." He mumbled as he took out scissors to cut the sleeve of your shirt. "I tell you, it's because that damn lady feeding those goddamn things!" He complained, as Jin sighed. You looked at him for a second, taking in his appearance. He had broad shoulders, and an absolutely charming face- his bright eyes contrasting his dark hair as he held a gentle smile on his plush lips, trying to calm you down it seemed. "I'll give you a tiny injection okay? Its to numb your arm, or otherwise it'll hurt too bad." Namjoon explained, and you nodded, even though you were internally terrified. "one two- there we go!" He hummed out, Jin steadily running his hand over your back as he watched you.
"You're so brave young lady." He complimented, velvet voice helping a bit to ease your worry. It wasn't just your encounter with whatever that thing was, but also the fact that for the first time, you were somewhere without Jungkook- and it made you extremely anxious to say the least. Thats when you remembered your phone.
"My phone-" You began, before someone knocked at the door- or more like, tried to kick it in, it seemed. The voice that rang through the room through the door however, was familiar to your ears.
"Y/N! Namjoon, Jin, have you seen her?! There's- oh god there's blood out here-" He said worried, as Jin slowly stood up, opening the door as he simply pointed towards your form, sitting on the couch as Namjoon cleaned the bite wound. At the sight of him, all worried and out of breath, the guilt suddenly flooded your mind as you teared up, finally cracking up as the tears ran down your cheek, a sob escaping you as you began to cry. "Oh little one-" He immediately said, running towards you.
  Jin looked from you to Jungkook worried. "Why is she crying now? Is she scared?" He asked confused, as the second oldest in the room shook his head.
  "Probably the shock. It's normal for humans, they're a bit more sensitive to these things, remember?" He said softly, as Jin nodded.
  Jungkook didn't seem to care about what was said as he squatted down next to Namjoon, hand running over your head before it cupped your cheek, his eyes blown wide open as he looked at you, then at the wound. "She's gonna be okay right?" He asked, and Namjoon nodded.
"It pulled a bit on her arm, which did a good amount of damage, but its only a surface wound, surprisingly." He explained. "I'll stitch the biggest spots, and bandage it." He said, and Jungkook nodded. "You'll be able to do it afterwards if you watch me do it, right?" He asked, and Jungkook nodded, serious, as he held your other hand. He sat down, close to you, as he now took over Jins earlier part of rubbing your back. "And there we go." Namjoon said, as he finished it. "I'd give you pain medicine but I don't have anything for humans. I'll give you some kids medication instead. That should be fine." He explained, as he gave Jungkook a small package. "Please keep an eye on her from now on. She's gotten away this time, and I wont ask why she was so far away from you in the first place. But the next time this happens, I will have to report it Jungkook." He said, making Jungkook lower his head as he nodded.
He took off his jacket as he threw it over your shoulders, picking you up as he said his goodbyes to Jin and Namjoon, walking out with you in his arms.
Tumblr media
"Jungkook?" You carefully asked one night, making him humm as he confirmed that he was listening. "I.. want to know." You said, and it took him a moment until he turned on the light beside the bed, leaning on his arm as he looked at you questioningly. "You said, you're sure you'd hurt me. I wanna know why." You said, and he sighed, before he sat up.
"I uhm.." He started, as he scratched the back of his neck. "I'ts just, not gonna fit." He explained, as you tried to push your shyness to the side.
"But you know.. we haven't tried yet-" You began, as he shook his head.
"I said no." He sternly said, making you visibly deflate as he sighed again.
"I.. we could still, you know.." He began, and you looked at him, as he seemed to struggle a bit with his words. "I know you want to be close to me, and I want that too." He said, and you sat up now as well, looking at him.
"It's okay if you want to be with someone else-" You began, but he groaned, as if he was frustrated.
"No! Now I get why you left that day.." He held your head in his hands as he looked at you with gentle eyes. "I don't want anyone else that's not you little one." He confessed, and you just stared, as he leaned in, connecting his lips with yours.
Usually, his kisses were more like little pecks, small gestures of affection, never to lead to anything else. But this time, he asked for it. It was as if he'd let himself loose, kissing you fully for the first time, not backing away like typically when you leaned in with need. He parted your lips with his tongue, hands lowering themselves as they moved over your arms, resting on your thighs as he closed his eyes, loosing himself in the feeling of you. He finally moved around a bit, laying you down on your back as he towered over you, body shielding you away from the world as his hands finally explored your bare skin underneath the small layer of clothing you wore, chuckling as you whined when his hand softly squeezed one of your breasts, loving the soft feeling of it. "You're so cute." He whispered, making you squirm underneath him as his breathing quickened, holding himself back from absolutely ruining you.
He suddenly took off his shirt, helping you out of yours as he growled at the fact that you didn't wear a bra at all to sleep. It didn't really bug him usually, but now, he wondered how he managed to contain himself next to you for all these nights next to you, the only thing between his and your skin a mere piece of fabric. Your skin was pure sin underneath his fingertips as he felt himself twitch inside his sweats. He needed to get out of them.
He helped you out of your shorts, taking your underwear with them as his gaze got stuck on the small strand of glistening wetness clinging to the fabric of your panties. It was a clear sign how aroused you were, and it was an absolute compliment towards him in his own eyes- the fact that he could rile you up like this so quickly made him feel proud in a way. He growled almost at the sight, hand immediately finding its way downwards as his fingers teasingly running over your folds, his face showing how mesmerized he was by your body's reaction to him.
There was a reason alcorian woman were envious of human ones- and Jungkook finally found some reasoning behind the 'human-kink' going on with the arrival of your race on his homeplanet. Your body just screamed fertility at him, and it made him desperate as he finally got rid of the last pieces of clothing.
You didn't quite know what you were expecting, but your mind was empty as you made eye contact with his painfully erect length.
He was practically oozing precum at this stage, standing proudly as you somehow understood now where his worries came from. To be quite blunt about it, he looked quite normal, a little bigger even for his own body height, apart from the soft looking growth on the base of himself. "It looks odd to you, doesn't it?" He saig as he chuckled a bit hesitantly, having watched your reaction to him. You shook your head however, smiling as you reached for his shoulders, pulling him down again as you kissed his lips. He smiled into it, hands never leaving your skin as you felt him against your inner thigh, growing uneasy that he was so close- but still too far away.
"Hm I told you no little one.." He hummed against your neck as he left open mouthed kisses there, teasingly biting the skin there from time to time as you whined. "But there's other things we can do, don't worry.." He whispered, as he suddenly moved you a bit, careful not to be too rough as he lined your wet center up, the back of your thighs leaning on top of his as he sat on his knees, his cock resting between your lower lips. He almost let out a whine at the feeling of your warmth just underneath him as he simply let his length move over your core as you mewled at the feeling of him rubbing over your clit. He squeezed his eyes shut, summoning all his self control as he dropped down, hands gripping your thighs, yet gentle enough not to seriously hurt you.
He suddenly shifted again, leaning down with his chest first onto the mattress first as he threw your legs over his shoulders, leaking core exposed to him as he licked a stripe up your folds, teasing you as you tried to keep your legs apart. He hummed against you, making you whine out pleadingly as he entered a finger of his, groaning at the feeling of you already clenching around him. "You're so soft little one.." He praised, adding another finger as he began to stretch you out, making you grasp the sheets below you in desperate fists. Digit after digit he tested the waters, stretching you out more and more as you became restless, suddenly tensing up as you felt yourself close. "My little human gonna cum?" He questioned, leaning his head on the inside of your upper thigh as he began to stimulate your most sensitive bundle of nerves, watching in absolute adoration as you suddenly mewled out, core clenching around nothing as he slowed down his movements, letting you ride it out. He smiled down at you as he gently placed your legs back down, giving you a moment to breathe as you looked at him, or his still very uncomfortable looking errection between his legs.
"Please koo.. lets just try-" You began, as he furrowed his brows, gasping as your fingers reached down, barely reaching the sensitive head of his member as he tried to deny your request.
He couldn't.
"I'll.. You have to tell me when its too much, please-" He pleaded, and you nodded frantically, happy to finally have him give you everything you wanted. "Okay, okay.." He chanted, as if to calm himself down, his tensed up thighs a clear sign of his own frustration. He slowly aligned himself with your core, gently pressing his head into your patiently waiting hole, as you closed your eyes, trying to not concentrate on the sting. "Shh.. please relax little one-" He chanted as he took it as slow as possible. "Please relax, I won't get it in if you're too tense baby.." He said, the petname making you melt under his gaze as you took a deep breath, slowly loosening up for him as he was slowly able to push himself inside more and more, watching as he could see himself slightly move inside you just underneath your lower belly.
He didn't know why exactly, but he loved the sight of it.
You looked to absolutely adorable in a way, speared on his length as he rubbed his thumbs over your hipbones, careful as ever not to make it too painful for you. "You're taking me so well, you're so perfect for me.." He hummed out, as you suddenly twitched underneath him when his weird small growth touched your sensitive clit, making him chuckle. "You know.." He suddenly said, voice deep and dark as you felt yourself shiver. "They say human females can cum multiple times.." He explained, making you open your eyes a bit in question. "I wonder if that's just a rumor?" He mused, watching you as you looked a bit confused. "Alcorian girls rarely ever cum.." He explained, as you slowly connected the pieces, somehow understanding what he was saying. You'd heard that before as well, that Alcorians had a hard time really getting pregnant and since woman rarely ever orgasmed, men had to step up their game evolution wise Namjoon had said, but you hadn't really asked what he meant by that. But now that you've noticed it, it did make sense; the weird stimulating.. whatever that was, the amount of precum that seemed almost ridiculous for human standards- it made you wonder what else he was hiding.
"There we go.." He finally said, not fully inside, but knowing that this was as far as he could go with you. There was no way he could fit himself inside you fully, and he knew that. He simply let yourself adjust for a moment, before he moves, a moan leaving him as he bit his lip, trying to keep his pace slow and steady for you as you arched your back enticingly, making him grab at your chest. "You're so- enchanting-" He gasped out between breaths, an almost sobbing sound escaping him without tears as he finally realized how close he was with you. He was connected in the most intimate of ways, and he could finally see why humans found pleasure in an act as basic as this.
You felt like home, warm and comforting.
You became a bit jumpy as something foreign seemed to touch you- warm and gentle, but you couldn't quite make out it's shape or form. It was blurred, as if summer heat was distorting the scene for you, and you wondered immediately if this was just your imagination. But Jungkook noticed your confusion immediately it seemed, smiling a bit shyly at you. "They're uhm.." He tried to think of a good way to explain it while having foggy thoughts, still buried so deep inside you. "we call them ferons.." He hummed, and you reached out, fingers immediately retracting at the weird feeling of them. "They're usually.. not visible-" He gasped out, chuckling at the way you seemed so interested in them. "They're ah-.. they're a remnant of when we uh.. had to survive on our own." He explained, as one of them gently moved over your ribs, a touch similar to warm water- just without the wet feeling. It was more like a red warming lamp shining on your skin. "They must be weird to you, hm?" He asked, head dipping down as you smiled, hand finding its way into his hair as you closed your eyes again, letting yourself go into his care without worry.
"Nothing about you is weird to me, Jungkook." You hummed out, and he kissed your skin in exchange.
As if to thank you silently for accepting him.
His lips parted, face dipped down to mouth at your neck, as he breathlessly pleaded. "Can I mark you?" He chanted, as if he was in a trance. "Please let me mark you.. please little one, let me make you mine.." He said, and you nodded, unknowing to what exactly you'd just agreed to.
You found out quite quickly, as he suddenly took a small bit of skin between his teeth, now biting with much more force until he tasted a slight taste of iron on his tongue, leaving marks all along your neck and collarbone, bruises already blooming to blossom into beautiful shades of purples and greens, his mark staying behind for a long time. He smiled as if he was high, loosing himself in the feeling of your body underneath him as you suddenly quivered, whining out as you pushed your head into the mattress below you, making your back arch as he continued at his pace, going a bit faster as something moved over your clit, something holding your hips in place as you suddenly snapped, orgasm rushing through you as you finally flew over the edge, your thighs trembling as you felt wetness escape you, making him release a sound that sounded awfully like a growl.
Suddenly he came- and you felt like you were splitting into two.
Something was happening inside you, growing in size, as he was suddenly locked in place it seemed, hands carefully running over your head as he started to frantically console you. "It's okay, its okay.." He repeated in a soothing way as you felt him spill inside you to no end it seemed, feeling how he stretched you even more inside. You felt like you'd burst any second. "Ngh.. you're taking it so well, so good, so perfect.." He exhaled, letting his forehead fall against your shoulder as he breathed heavily. "You're okay, you're fine.." He hummed as he slowly felt you calm down as he stayed still, waiting for his cock to soften up again and deflate, as he kissed your cheeks, your nose, your lips in absolute adoration, warm ferons warming up your still shivering legs. "My god you're so sweet-" He murmured. "So absolutely perfect-" He continued. "And mine.. only mine.. my little human.." He sang almost as he kissed the marks he'd left behind.
It felt odd as he finally softened up, cum instantly seeping out of you as he was able to comfortably slip out of you. You whined at the empty feeling and he cooed at you. "I'm so sorry- I originally was planning on pulling out before that happened, but then you... did that and-" He chuckled, as he kissed your nose again, making you giggle. "I love you." He confessed, and you opened your eyes, gaze locking with his.
"I love you too."
Tumblr media
"You could've warned me of your.. weird invisible tentacles and all that-" You started randomly as he threw his head back, cheeks dursted pink as he held his hands over his face in embarrassment.
"Stop-!" He whined, as you laughed your heart out.
"I thought you alcorians didn't feel shame all that much about this stuff?" You teased, as he looked at you, playfully angry stare sent your way, before he got up from his spot, throwing you over his shoulder.
"Oh I'm gonna show you how unashamed we are."
Hopeless Romantics
HiHo friends! I mostly wrote this piece for @iaminlovetomhollandmarvel because she's like my one consistent reader. Once again, I'm still fairly new to writing so please be kind, and send in requests for any characters and actors/actresses you want and I'll write for you! I also used writing prompt 707 from @creativepromptsforwriting and its highlighted in bold, there is also a Sylvia Plath poem in here!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Hey Y/N, what're ya doin?" Arvin asked as he walked up to you as you sat reading on the steps outside of the school.
"Not much, just sittin' here enjoyin the warm weather. What are you doin' Arvin?"
"Well you looked pretty lonely over here, so I was thinkin I could keep you company but I can go if you want."
"I don't mind, come sit down I promise I won't bite."
As he sat down next to you he linked his arm with yours to see how you'd react. When you didn't pull away he scooted closer to you, to the point of being able to see over your shoulder.
"Y/N L/N what on Gods green Earth are you reading?" he laughed at the content you were consuming.
"If you must know, nosey josey its a romance book," your cheeks started turning red with embarrassment as he laughed.
"I don't know much but I do know one thing; people do not talk like that on dates."
"I wouldn't know, I've never been out on a date before," you turned your head away feeling shame. 17 years old, and never been out on a date while some girls in your class were out here getting married.
Arvin felt bad, he did know that you didn't go out much but he figured that the most beautiful girl he's ever seen would've been asked out at some point.
"Thats about to change. C'mon Y/N get up, I'm taking you out on a proper date," he offered his hand to help pull you to your feet.
"Arvin are you insane, what would even do?"
"Anything you want. We could go to dinner, a movie, we could go to the library, I could get a picnic together really fast and go to the lake, we can go skinny dipping," he winked at you.
"Skinny dipping is a third date activity young man, I think you know this," you shot back at him matching his cheeky smile, "I wouldn't mind a picnic by the lake, I just need to stop by my house and tell my momma where I'm goin."
"Your carriage awaits m'lady," he help open the car door for you and helped you in.
"Before we do this I need to know, why are you doing this Arvin?" you asked him, very worried about getting hurt.
"Cause its Friday night and I'd rather spend it with the prettiest girl in school than at Church with Lenora."
An hour later after you dropped your stuff off at home and got a picnic and blanket you and Arvin were sitting by the lake looking out over the water.
"Y/N will you please read your book to me? 'ts just I've heard you read in English and I really like your voice. Please?" he was so kind and quiet that there was no way you could deny him of this.
"I won't read you my book but I'll read you a poem, how's that?" he nodded happy with the trade off. As you pulled your poem book out of the small bag you packed, he laid down in your lap looking up at the sky.
"This one is called Mad Girl's Love Song by Sylvia Plath.
"I shut my eyes and all the world drops dead; I lift my lids and all is born again. (I think I made you up inside my head)
The stars go waltzing out in blue and red, And arbitrary blackness gallops in: I shut my eyes and all the world drops dead.
I dreamed that you bewitched me into bed And sung me moon-struck, kissed me quite insane. (I think I made you up inside my head.)
God topples from the sky, hell's fires fade: Exit seraphim and Satan's men: I shut my eyes and all the world drops dead.
I fancied you'd return the way you said, But I grow old and I forget your name. (I think I made you up inside my head.)
I should have loved a thunderbird instead; At least when spring comes they roar back again. I shut my eyes and all the world drops dead. (I think I made you up inside my head.)"
Arvin stared at you in awe. He had never felt feelings like this before. In the moments that you were reading to him everything felt right, as if you wrote the poem for him.
"Y/N that was absolutely beautiful," he gushed to you.
"Aww you don't mean that, now c'mon enough with all this gushy stuff. Its hot and i want to cool down with a swim."
"But we dont have our swimsuits and I thought skinny dippin was a third date activity miss," he was getting real cheeky now.
"Thats very true, but I wear undergarments, and those cover the same amount skin that a swimming suit do. Arvin, do you wear undergarments?" you asked as you started to unzip your skirt.
"You sure about this?" he wanted to go swimming with you more than anything but he didn't want you to feel uncomfortable.
"I've never been more sure about anything in my life Arvin." you were completely undressed, except the matching bra and panty set you were wearing. Arvin was awestricken with you. "Hurry up, I want to swim and your taking forever."
In record speed he took off his jeans and shirt, grabbing your hand and running into the water with you. You guys splashed in the water for a long time, well into the night. At some point you guys just floated, side by side holding hands. No one had ever made you feel the way Arvin did, like you mattered.
"Y/N your shivering, let get you dried off," he helped you onto the shore and wrapped a towel around and rubbed your shouders. "Heres the keys to the truck, you can changed in there. 'm gonna go into the woods to give you some privacy." he truly was the sweetest boy.
Once you both got changed and were sitting in the car, he asked you something you never thought he'd ask. "Will you dance with me? I can turn up the radio and we can dance outside." you nodded your head and lept out.
He took your right hand, in his left and wrapped your left arm around his waist. He placed his right hand low on your back yet high enough to still be respectful.
"Arvin, real talk and I want a real answer from you this time. Why did you ask me out tonight?"
"I asked you out because I've been infatuated with you, but i was never sure to liked me back so I started to flirt with you."
"What? We barely even spoke before today, how did you flirt with me?"
"I mean, I looked at you... sometimes you looked back."
"Arvin I don't know what to say, you could've talked to me."
"I wanted to, so badly Y/N its just that... I didn't want people to get the wrong idea about you because you deserve the whole world and I cant give it to you and people say I'm dangerous and I swear I'm not I just don't wan-"
you cut him off with a kiss. An earth shattering, mind blowing kiss. his lips were so soft and molded perfectly to yours, and he could taste the cherry chapstick you always wore. It lasted forever it felt like. When you both eventually pulled apart he rested his head against yours. "Woman if you keep doing that you're gonna kill me."
"I hate to ruin this absolutely perfect first date but, its past my curfew and I have to be home," disappointment clear in your voice. "All good things must come to an end eventually I suppose."
The whole way home, you didn't leave his side. He even walked you to your door and kissed you goodnight. "Can we go out again tomorrow, ya think?" he asked so hopeful you'd say yes.
"I would absolutely love to Mr. Russell but I don't know if my mom will let me after gettin in so late after I was supposed to be home. Give me your number and Ill call you tomorrow if I can."
He gave you his number and you two parted ways. He sat by the phone all weekend waiting for you to call, disappointment shattering his heart when you didn't. He found you by your locker first thing Monday morning at school.
"Hey, I figured that Id come say hi to you. Ya know, just make sure everythings still good between us?" He had never been this nervous in all his life.
"Yes of course everythings good between us why wouldnt it be?"
"Well you never called, and I got really worried. Why didnt you call?"
"My mom said I wasnt allowed to use the phone because I broke curfew. I promise you I would've called Arvin, I had the best time of my life on Friday. I would do it again in a heartbeat."
"Really, you want to go out with me again?"
"Well, yeah. Of course I do. There's still a second date we have to go on, before we get to the third." you winked at him as you shut your locker and turned around and walking in the opposite direction. Leaving him there, wondering what on Earth he just got himself into.
月が綺麗ですね?
Tumblr media
request: Can I request a ni-ki fluff where u both are besties but love each other and u try to confess but ur to shy so he kisses u ?🥺💗
word count: 1.5k+
note: his outfit is inspired by what he wore in his lie cover and italics are your thoughts :) 月が綺麗ですね means “the moon is beautiful, isn’t it?” which is a more poetic saying of “i love you” in japanese
Tumblr media
it was a around 4 pm and the sun was beginning to set. you promised to yourself that one last time, before riki left for a few months to go to a dance company, you’d see the sunset with him for old times sake.
but a teenager needs their sleep, right? right. so you overslept through your alarm.
you look at your phone in disbelief for a few seconds, letting your half asleep brain render what you’ve done. and then once you realise that the sun would be setting in 30 minutes, you scramble out of bed - legs still tangeled in your sheets and run to your wardrobe, pulling out a random hoodie that coincidentally belonged to the boy you were meant to be meeting in about 15 minutes.
you pull it over year head before checking yourself in the mirror and deeming your messy outfit enough, he is my best friend, you think to yourself.
ah yes, here’s that word again - best friend.
it was a cliché trope, the one where one of the two friends fall for the other and they either suck it up and deal with their feelings till they move on and possibly miss their chance at one of their best things in life or they confess and potentially ruin their friendship. you were a brave one, or at least that’s what you told yourself, and you decided it was the best choice to finally get your feelings out in the open - hoping they would be reciprocated.
and hey, if it didn’t work out, at least you wouldn’t have to see him for a month minimum and that would give you time to get over the embarrassment of ruining your tight knit friendship.
you snap out of your thoughts with a shake of your head and the sound of a message coming from your phone - it was from riki.
riki :D : hey u comin? 16:08
y/n <3 : hi yeah sorry got caught up with sumn 16:08
riki :D : alrighty i’m waiting outside 16:10
you furrow your brows at the message. outside? you both planned on meeting in the field and stuff yourself with your favourite food one last time before he had to stick to a diet - but you didn’t question it further and quickly ran down the stairs ready to run out the door to see your best friend.
instead, you’re met with your mother gushing over him in the kitchen and your father congratulating him on his future career - even as a 15 year old. it was common sense that your parents liked him, you’ve been best friends since elementary school but what you didn’t expect was your mother almost at the brink of bursting into obnoxious tears at the thought of the nishimura riki leaving okayama and her child behind.
to be quiet frank, she was completely more bothered about the fact that riki was leaving okayama, more so than the fact that he was also leaving you behind - she loved him as if he were her own son. “remember to call us ok? tell us how it’s going.” she gripped his shoulders tightly before caressing his face and pulling him into a tight hug. he quickly wrapped his arms back around her, reciprocating the feeling of homesickness even though he hadn’t left yet, before muttering a, “don’t worry, i’ll make sure to call everyday.”
he shared another hug with your dad, more manly than the one with your mum before your mother saw you waiting at the stairs, ushering you to come forward before shoving a bag full of snacks for you two. “make sure to stay safe with riki and don’t go wandering too far - oh also don’t stay out too late... have fun!” before she shoved the both of you out the door, quite stunned.
you then open the bag, seeing it full of yours and his favourite snacks and some... hearts? flowers? what on earth-
“hey, come on slowass... let’s go before it gets too dark,” rikis voice calls out before he softly grips your hand and tugs you along, a bright smile spreading across his face. “what are you wearing?” you look at his outfit and see him covered in a slightly large white dress shirt and black jeans. he looked... put together.
“oh this? i had a dance cover i had to do today, ignore it.” you usually wouldn’t pay attention to what he wore - especially if it was for his dance covers but what you couldn’t ignore was the slight blush that dusted his pale cheeks. is it because i’m wearing his hoodie? no that can’t be it. he never minded before - actually he was always the one to hand you his hoodies. so what could it be?
“let’s sit here, it’s a good spot for the sunset,” he pats the spot of grass next to him on the hill, indicating for you to take a seat. you place the bag at his feet before sitting down onto the cool grass, feeling it tickle at your ankles. 4:33 pm. the sun should be setting right about now-
“riki, uhm, uh well i was gonna uh-“
“spit it out, y/n,” he giggles through his words as he digs his hand into the bag before pulling out two snacks and handing one to you. easier said than done, einstein.
“do you really have to go?” you curse under your breath for being such a coward and not just saying what you wanted to say straight away. “yeah, unfortunately,”
“unfortunately? don’t you want to go? it’s your dream, riki. for the love of god, don’t tell me you’re starting to question it.” you voice raises slightly in bewilderment. he chuckles lowly while looking out into the sky: orange, pinks, purples and hints of blue mixed in the sky like water colour being dipped in a glass half full. “no i’m not... questioning it, i’m more concerned about what i’m going to leave behind.” he takes another bite before speaking again, “i’ll miss okayama, y’know? and all my friends... even that weird, janky shop on that corner that no one really goes to. but it’s the fact that i’m leaving you behind thats making me want to stay here... i don’t want to leave you.” as he speaks, the moon peaks through the clouds more, becoming more apparent to the human eye. it almost reminds riki of his own feelings - hidden for so long before finally becoming clear.
“riki, you two-braincelled dumbass, stop being worried about some janky corner shop and go follow your dreams! you won’t be gone forever, a few months at top and sure, i may not be there in person but... you’ll always have me y’know? i’m your best friend after all!” you end your little speech with a gentle push from your shoulder to his and a wide smile, making him chuckle.
but it was humourless.
“you good?” your smile fades and instead is replaced with a small frown. he looks out into the sky again, the beautiful sunset colours suddenly replaced with a darker blue and grey transparent clouds covering a tiny part of the moon. “best friends... yeah.” it was a very quiet mutter - clearly not meant to be heard by you but it was just loud enough for your ear to catch.
this is my chance.
his quiet words gave you a slight boost of confidence and you suddenly sit in front of him, making him jump slightly in surprise. “what are you doing?”
“riki, shut up for a second,”
“right ok well, i was meaning to say this for a very long time but i kinda didn’t want to ruin anything so i decided to be a genius and basically leave it till the day before you leave so incase i did mess anything up it would give us some time y’know? but anyways uh i just wanted to say that i uh... well ok so i - well basically-“
“y/n, shut up for a second so i can kiss you.”
“i’m sorry what?” that’s what you tried to say, but instead your words got muffled by his hands softly grabbing your face and connecting his lips to yours in a warm, slow kiss.
oh good lord.
kissing riki felt like midnight strolls. walks under a roof where the rain bounced off. mario kart competitions at friendly gatherings. ordering a takeout when you don’t feel like cooking. finding your favourite shirt after misplacing it for months.
it felt so... normal. so exciting yet homely. it was something you were so happy to experience - yet it made you feel at peace and as if you were meant to be there.
as he pulled away, your cheeks warmed in delight and he shyly smiled down at the ground. in return, you lift his face and place another soft peck onto his pink lips and smile brightly after. his black pearl eyes then flicker to look behind you, smiling tenderly as he looked back at you before opening his mouth to speak.
“月が綺麗ですね?”
Tumblr media
“I need you to tell me what happened to Iroh.”
Zuko kept your gaze, his eyes almost wide. You didn’t look away, couldn’t let yourself. A few heartbeats passed, and he looked away, shame clear on his face.
“He was put in jail,” Zuko said, closing his eyes. “I visited him often, but when I went to help him break out during the eclipse, he was already gone.” Slowly, his gaze returned to you. “I wish I could tell you I knew where he was.” It made sense, what he was saying, and you knew he wasn’t lying. You had hoped something else had become of Iroh, that day, that maybe he’d escaped after securing yours, but some part of you knew that he was likely jailed in the Fire Nation, if not dead.
Broken out, though. He had made it out- just like Zuko. Maybe, someday, they’d see each other again.
But for now, you were satisfied. Zuko, though responsible for Iroh’s imprisonment in an odd way, was ashamed of it. And you wouldn’t hold against him actions that he was paying for. Your heart beating, yet stinging like a raw wound, you fell back into his chest, spending any long moment you could in his arms, the sky darkening around you and revealing its stars.
The days before Sozin’s Comet just felt odd.
Four days from the comet, you went to a play, which didn’t mention you at all. That pissed you off- you were instrumental to their escape from Ba Sing Se! Who the hell else would’ve protected Katara from Azula if not you? Not to mention Zuko died in it, which surprised all of you, most of all, Zuko.
His upset from the night before bled into the next morning, when he attacked Aang. The terror in your chest, when you saw the fire struck toward the avatar again, was thick and visceral. You never thought you’d see him attack Aang again, not after Ba Sing Se, and you didn’t understand what had happened that made him so violent, so suddenly.
But when you attempted to come to Aang’s aid, and stood between the avatar and the prince, you caught his gaze. That malice that you’d seen in Ba Sing Se, that you’d hated so much, that you expected to see now, in a prince gone mad- it wasn’t there.
Zuko wasn’t doing this out of hatred for Aang.
It stunned you enough that the prince slipped past you, continuing his attack. You watched as a spectator, until they dove into the attic, your mind swimming. What could Zuko be thinking?
Okay, so he was confused at Aang’s complacency. Real interesting decision making process there, Zuzu, attacking him to resolve such an issue.
Three days from the comet. You run a drill- which didn’t make much sense as an actual plan, you had to say, but not many of these other teenagers had the benefit of actual military training like you. Your job was to draw fire with Sokka and Suki- and, though Sokka didn’t admit it, to be an earthbender who could throw up a shield at any time. It was fun training, which you hadn’t really gotten to be a part of for a while.
Two days from the comet, and Aang is missing.
Which is really, really, really bad.
Like, sure, the kid wasn’t exactly super ready to face Ozai, but he’s still the avatar, right? That’s still got to count for something. And he’s missing, leaving a very gifted and still extremely underqualified gaggle of teenagers to face the Fire Lord.
So you went to the Earth Kingdom. Zuko took you to an old friend named Jun, who seemed to go way back, back to before you’d met Zuko. She seemed like she’d be helpful, but then revealed even more deeply unsettling information- Aang was gone. Which was much, much worse than missing.
So, facing the Fire Lord without the Avatar. How fun.
And yet, there was a glimmer of hope, in the form of an old, smelly sandal, which really made you wonder why the hell Zuko still had it. And, really, now that you thought about it, how Zuko even got it. The Shirshu could definitely catch a scent from that- anyone with a half working nose could.
One day from Sozin’s comet, and most of it was already gone, spent chasing a shirshu across the Earth Kingdom. Appa was the best, letting you sleep on a massive paw, and though he was itchy, it was much better than taking the time to set up your beds. Though, your rest didn’t last long- quickly you were ambushed, a ring of fire surrounding you. Four men looked down upon you, and though you didn’t recognize three of them, you did know King Bumi, and assumed that the others must be friends, if he were in league with them.
“Well, look who’s here!” Bumi said, a snorting laugh following his words. You saw relief and joy on Sokka and Katara’s face, and so you knew that your assumption was true. It seemed like, for the first time in a few days, you were about to catch a break.
“What’s going on? We’re surrounded by old people.” A smile cracking your face, you had to be grateful for Toph, and her outlook on the world.
“Not just any old people. These are great masters, and friends of ours!” She bowed to an old man with long white hair. “Pakku.”
“It is respectful to bow to an old master,” he said, returning her bow, “but how about a hug, for your new grandfather?” You raised an eyebrow as the siblings reacted with surprise, but not too much, like that was a normal thing to say, if exciting. Following their conversation, though, you picked up enough details to figure out a bit of the history that they must’ve had.
“And this was Aang’s first firebending teacher!” Katara explained, and Sokka went on to explain the name of the third.
“Master Piandao,” he said, and you smiled brightly, even if it was to yourself- this was truly a lucky day.
“So, wait, how do you all know each other?” Suki asked.
“All old people know each other, don’t you know that?” Bumi said with another snorting laugh.
“We’re all part of the same ancient secret society,” Piandao explain, causing your gaze to shift to the matching uniforms they each wore. “A group that transcends the divisions of the four nations.
“The Order of the White Lotus,” Zuko interjected, and you looked sideways at him, wondering how he knew that. He had a smile on his face- he looked hopeful.
“That’s the one!” Bumi answered.
“The White Lotus has always been about philosophy, and beauty, and truth,” Jeong-Jeong began, and as you crossed your arms over yourself to protect them from the wind, you were glad that such a society exists in such a war-torn world. “But about a month ago, a call went out that we were needed for something important.”
“It came from our Grand Lotus,” Pakku said, diverting his eyes to Zuko. “Your uncle. Iroh of the Fire Nation.” While Zuko’s expression softened, yours brightened- Iroh was as trustworthy as you had always known him to be. You were glad to know that he kept peace just as much as he preached it.
“Well, that’s who we’re looking for,” Toph said.
“Then we’ll take you to him.” Reaching Jun and her shirshu, it felt sure that you were going to see Iroh again. But when you followed her for a day, the inevitability of it dribbled away. Yet here, again, your hope renewed, that you could see him again, and be reminded that there was at least one adult in the world that you could really, deeply trust.
“Wait,” Bumi shouted, shoving himself to the midst of the conversation, “There’s someone missing from your group. Someone very important... where’s Momo??”
“He’s gone,” Sokka said, clearly deeply troubled by having Bumi’s nose pressed to his face, “and so is Aang.”
“Oh well, so long as they have each other, I’m sure we have nothing to worry about!” Bumi said, prompting you to wonder what the king had seen and experienced to allow news such as a missing avatar to not startle him. “Let’s go!”
It was a surprisingly far walk to the Order’s camp, in which the old masters caught up with their friends, and filled each other in on details. You kept quiet, having not personally known any of them.
The sun came up as you reached the camp, and Zuko entered his uncle’s tent, to wait. You sat outside with Toph, but decide not to practice your seismics- whatever was happening between Zuko and Iroh deserved to stay between them.
A nice stew was your breakfast, the gaang all sitting around its pot, with Iroh sitting at the head of the group. You’d sat between Zuko and Toph, one leg propped up on its foot with the other extended in front of you. Iroh had given you a long hug when he saw you- delighted that you had continued your path alongside the avatar, and secretly even more delighted that Zuko’s path had also lead him back to you.
“Uncle, you’re the only person other than the avatar who can possibly defeat the fatherlord,” Zuko said, and though you heard his mistake, you only smiled into your stew.
“You mean the Fire Lord.” Because you could count on Toph to do it for you.
“That’s what I just said,” Zuko snapped, but it was merely his temper, not true anger. “We need you to come with us.” Iroh seemed to consider for a moment.
“No, Zuko, it won’t turn out well,” Iroh began, and you lifted your head, ready to hear true, unfiltered Iroh wisdom.
“You can beat him,” Zuko insisted, before looking sideways across the rest of the group. “And we’ll be there to help.” You gave him a smile, but ultimately turned your attention back to Iroh.
“Even if I did defeat Ozai,” he began, “and I don’t know that I could, it would be the wrong way to end the war. History will see it as more senseless violence: a brother killing a brother to grab power.” Slowly you brought another bite of your stew to your lips, but once you had, your chopsticks slowly maneuvered around your fingers, finding a way to fidget as you considered. “The only way for this war to end peacefully is for the avatar to defeat the Fire Lord.” You let out a quick breath, recognizing the sense in his words, but feeling worry reveal itself. Wasn’t Aang... gone? Off world?
“And then... would you come and take your rightful place on the throne?” Zuko asked.
“No,” Iroh said, quickly, like he’d been prepared for such a question. “Someone new must take the throne- an idealist with a pure heart and unquestionable honor.” He was speaking directly to Zuko, and you understood before he’d had to say it. “It has to be you, Prince Zuko.”
In all the time you’d known Zuko, you had known him as a lot of different things. Refugee. Waiter. Friend. Crush. Traitor. Enemy. Prince. Fire Nation. And in all that time, you’d realized his lineage, as the eldest child of the Fire Lord, and certainly most sane. Yet, in all that time, you’d never considered what he was poised to become: the Fire Lord himself.
In that moment, you nearly felt the need to bow, or scoot away, as though you were reminded of his royalty, the true meaning of the term ‘prince’. Wasn’t the bloodline of the Fire Nation royals considered to have been made royal by the spirits?
Inferiority didn’t even begin to cover it, but you’d worry about that another day.
“Unquestionable honor?” He asked, looking away from his uncle. “But I’ve made so many mistakes.” At long last, days after you felt like you had finally forgiven the prince, you were put in a position where you could accept or deny the way he had hurt you in the past. But you weren’t just an earth kingdom citizen, not anymore. You were world-travelled, a soldier, a warrior, a friend to the future fire lord and the avatar alike. You knew the mature and good and right thing to do. And in that moment, it wasn’t to hold above him the things he’d done to you, but instead to recognize the way he’d overcome them. You shuffled closer to him.
“Yes, you have,” Iroh admitted, his gaze briefly meeting yours. “You’ve struggled, you’ve suffered.” Gently, you took one hand from your bowl, and laid it on his, where he’d left it on his knee. He didn’t look at you, but his fingers slid around yours slowly. “But you have always followed your own path. You have restored your own honor. And only you can restore the honor of the Fire Nation.”
“I’ll try, uncle,” he promised, and you knew he would make good on it.
“Well, what if Aang doesn’t come back?” Toph asked, and you once again thanked her for saying the things you couldn’t seem to get past your tongue.
“Sozin’s comet is arriving, and our destinies are upon us,” Iroh declared, using his chopsticks for emphasis. “Aang will face the Fire Lord. When I was a boy, I had a vision that I would one day take Ba Sing Se. Only now do I see that my destiny is to take it back, from the Fire Nation, so the Earth Kingdom can be free again.”
“That’s why you’ve gathered the members of the White Lotus,” Suki said, her words prompting you to look around at the dozen other old masters, who would be more than capable of pulling your mighty home city from the grasp of a few Fire Nation soldiers.
“Yes,” Iroh agreed, turning his gaze back to the prince. “Zuko, you must return to the Fire Nation, so that when the Fire Lord falls, you can assume the throne, and restore peace, and honor. But Azula will be there, waiting for you.”
“I can handle Azula,” Zuko said, malice written across his face, but this time for your first real enemy.
“Not alone,” Iroh insisted, “you’ll need help.”
“You’re right,” Zuko admitted. “Katara, Y/N. How would you like to help me put Azula in her place?” A devious smile spread over Katara’s face.
“It would be my pleasure,” she said, and you couldn’t help but smile as their gazes turned to you.
“She’s had it coming,” you said, cracking your knuckles of your free hand into your thigh.
“What about us?” Sokka asked, from between Toph and Suki, “What’s our destiny today?”
“What do you think it is?” Iroh asked, halfway to his next mouthful of stew, and for a moment you saw Mushi again, being cheeky back at the Jasmine Dragon when he suggested you do something that would put you in Zuko’s path.
“I think that,” Sokka began, considering, “even though we don’t know where Aang is, we need to do everything we can to stop the airship fleet.”
“And that means, when Aang does face the Fire Lord, we’ll be right there if he needs us.” Toph’s attitude, as though she would take on the comet herself, and win, filled you with a sense of hope. You could win the day.
You rested your back against Appa’s saddle, leaning over the side to say your goodbyes to the Order.
“So if I’m going to be Fire Lord after the war is over,” Zuko said, once again reminding you of such an insane fact, “What are you going to do?”
“After I reconquer Ba Sing Se, I’m going to reconquer my tea shop!” You couldn’t help but laugh, remembering the place you’d fallen in love with Zuko, back before the world had fallen down around you. You could imagine going back there, when it was all over. “And I’m going to play Pai Sho every day!” His happiness, his hope, was infectious.
“Goodbye, General Iroh,” Katara said, and you leaned down on your elbow, as though you could give him one last hug before you left. You already had- but that didn’t curb the impulse.
“Goodbye, everyone. Today, destiny is our friend. I know it.” You could believe him. For that moment, you were filled with strength, and the feeling that though the day would be hard, it would be won. It had to be.
Appa kicked off from the ground, and you crawled to the front of the saddle, closer to Zuko.
“Hey, Zuko?” You asked, taking a deep breath.
“Yes?” he didn’t look away from Appa’s path, but turned his head toward you.
“When this is all over, I...” you swallowed, hard, but kept yourself from putting it off any further. “I’m ready to love you again. I think I already do.”
And then, in that moment, for Zuko, there was a thousand more reasons why he needed to win the day.
