So I’ve been listening to Will Wood lately and started to associate his song from the Self-ish album to tma. So here are some loosely connected things that i found (spoiler warning btw)

Self fells like Jon at the end of s2 all defeated and stuff giving a sad song as he sits on the floor in Georgis apartment. Here are some lyrics that express that: “We'll write history books from memories“ - trying to figure out what the hell is happening from the statements that people give “Well, they always ask you not to leave“ - Elias forcing very nicely asking his employees not to leave “No, I won't come back and be the same“ - Jon and everyone being change about the things they experienced

2012 is about Jon in s3 being scared about becoming an avatar for the eye, as in scared that he’ll lose himself. “I was an existential criminal, so innocently cynical Ignorant as fuck but a proud individual Originally meant to live a God-damned miracle Mighta’ve been metaphysical, but I think it was medical” - basically s1 Jon “Never finding a theory” - Jon not understanding how the statements fit together in a coherent way “Did you lose yourself?” - Jon is afraid that he is in fact losing himself

I dont really have anything on Cotard's solution so we’ll move on

Mr. Capgras Encounters a Secondhand Vanity is the theme song of the not!them. I could go to every lyric and say how they related but that would mean that id have to copy paste the whole songs. Still, here are some examples: “Levitating off the ground“ - the first ep, the guy floating a few cm of the ground “Is another man wearing your face!“ - do i really need to say anything at this “Somebody to replace yourself“ - the not!them association with the stranger “Ready in your head and fed upon your memoirs” - again the not!them fit perfectly here

The Song With Five Name is my favorite. I imagine every entity coming together and making fun of Jon “You can break a shovel when you break new ground You dig dirt up when you dig deep down” -this lyric is about Jon in s2 and 3 breaking every connection he has with other people while trying to uncover the truth “Don't you forget That all you project Is just to protect you from The void within the form“ - again this is about Jon trying to protect himself from the truth with skepticism in s1 “And we'll have nothing left for us to lie to No matter what we seek you'll never find truth” -t he entities telling Jon that he’s to dumb for trying to find the truth

Hand Me My Shovel, I'm Going In! this is kinda like self in the sense that it’s a Jon solo but this one takes place in the peak of his paranoia in s2. The whole vibe of the song is jon frantically doing anything in his power to figure out what is happening. “It just seems unlikely that it's me who was to blame” - i know i said that this song would fit in s2 but this line specifically remind me of the s3 climax when i think?? it was Sarah Baldwin that used Gertrude and Leitner skin to make Jon think that the end of the world was his fault “This is not enough, this is not enough to prove it yet No, I need to hit the bottom Gotta get to the bottom of this” - pretty self explanatory, Jon trying to find the bottom of things “"Don't look down! You'll fall and break your back!" But that just reminds me how There's more to be found beneath the black” - the “Dont look back” is Elias telling Jon to stop doing stupid thing but he doesn’t listen “Gotta get to the bottom of this Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey Gotta get to the bottom of this If it kills me” - the last bit of the son makes me think of when Jon got an axe and broke that table. The last chorus fits perfectly with that bit, it has that frantic energy and desperation that Jon is having while he understands how massively he fucked up

Dr. Sunshine Is Dead is just a song for the dark, point blank, so i will not go into it

ish is self part 2. Theres not much to say here, it again plays into Jons fear of losing himself “And if I change my self can I still stay me? Or did I just change my mind? No it doesn't matter who I am”

Now if you read all of that first i must thank you for putting up with me for that long, you may be thinking that there is no connection and that im grasping for straws or that because the message of the album is about the fear of losing yourself it would obviously share that theme with tma since that is like a main plot point in the podcast and not everything that shares a theme is connected.

And you know what, you’re right. Im not writing this because i think that i found definite proof that the album and tma are connected, I dont even thonk that the connections I found are that good. First of all, I wrote this because it was fun and it gave me a chance to talk about two of my favorite thing and because I find it really cool how the human mind can find connections between thing that arent related at all and this is an example of that. So, thats all i got. If your a tma fan go give this album a listen because its good and who know maybe youll also think that it fids with the podcasts vibe and if you’re a will wood fan go listen to tma because i said so.

hello, i am bored. here are some unpopular opinions that may very well get me cancelled if i posted this on tiktok

do not read if you know youre going to get mad if i say something you disagree with

the over feminisation and over-aggressive characterisations of sirius and remus are so left field it makes my eye twitch. like if you wanna write them like that then fine but don't tell me that one scene of sirius wearing something nice and one scene of remus throwing harry up a wall (while he's in the middle of like a twenty year war with all of his friends dead mind you) means that they were as people are interpreting them in cannon

the fandom isn't misogynistic. you just want everyone to care about the same characters the way you do despite the fact that very little of them (especially the girls really besides lily and the black sisters) have any character/story to care about to begin with

on that same note, it is not wolfstar and jegulus' shippers job to write dorlene and marylily fics. there are over 6000 fics tagged under dorlene and over 2000 for marylily which is really impressive and a really big number for ships containing two people who don't have any connection to one another

we cannot blame every death on dumbledore. dumbledore was manipulative and not a very good person but he wasn't out here deliberately getting all the people on his side killed

this fandom is obsessed with tragedy so much that tragedy has now become repetitive and boring. i love a good sad story but what is the point in taking every single character and making them live the worst life possible. its like yall are only capable in caring for a character if they have literally the worst ending ever

the marauders weren't child soldiers. They were young but they weren't children.

on the same note just because barty, evan and peter (and any other death eater) was young does not excuse them of their actions. I'm 20 and I know that i wouldn't betray all of my friends or help torture new parents into insanity

deciding that pandora somehow had to be a part of a death eater family was the worst thing this fandom did to her character

it pisses me off when the fandom will bend over backwards to try to connect the same 12 characters to every headcannon imaginable when there are so many other characters that you could use

despite this tho i hate the whole "ravenpuff" thing. As someone who actually cares about Emmeline, Edgar, Fabian, Gideon, Amelia, Benjy, Caradoc and all of that it annoys me to no end when the only time people post about them is to shove them all into the two least cared about houses and decides that they were all friends while giving them the most uncreative name out there. if you dont care about them then dont post about them

marlene is the most overrated character in the fandom

james and marlene being childhood best friends is my least favourite headcannon

mary obliviating herself is the worst headcannon

remus lupin is a bottom

sirius black is tall

marlene being in ravenclaw > marlene being in gryffindor

this fandom really needs to remember that barty and evan were villains. if you like them then that's completely fine but stop trying to make them secretly good

i can only ship sirius with remus but i can ship remus with literally anyone (so long as they are actually his age or older. for some reason i cant ship remus with people who are over a year younger then him)

i dont think its fair to say that if you like regulus then you cant shit on snape stans but it is utterly unfair to stan barty and evan but shit on snape stans

fancasting and commenting on normal peoples tiktoks is stupid and embarrassing. we are HATED by other fandoms and is it because we are unable to stay in our lane. stop getting into other peoples buisness by commenting "REMUS LUPIN" under a Spiderman edit

james would not have stopped talking to sirius after the prank. He'd be mad at him and he'd tell him off but he wouldn't stop talking to him. If James had to pick between Sirius and anyone he's picking Sirius

on that note i think the only people who weren't talking to sirius after the prank was remus and lily. mostly because i dont think anyone other then the marauders and lily would even have known that remus was a werewolf at the time

ALSO evan, barty and regulus would not befriend remus after the prank. firstly they wouldnt care and even if they did they would be more likely to abuse the fact that they know about him being a werewolf

im sick of seeing people try to shame others for shipping wolfstar but not marylily because "theyre the same ship." theyre literally not. just because YOU hc mary and lily to have a similar dynamic as remus and sirius doesnt mean that theyre the same and doesnt mean that everyone else should think so to. Same with literally every other ship that gets compared to another based on headcannons

Maverick sees Iceman every morning.

He sees him in the blue of the petunias they planted together in the backyard two years ago.

He sees him in the blue of his favorite dress shirt that he wore on their first wedding anniversary.

He sees him every morning when he cooks french toast, his favorite breakfast food, in the pan Iceman bought him while he was at Homegoods spending an outrageous amount of money on new things for their house- despite the fact it had already been loved and lived in for 30 years now.

Every morning and every night when he brushes his teeth and has to pluck his green toothbrush out of the holder- that also holds Ice’s blue one because he could never find it in himself to throw it out despite it no longer having a purpose- he sees his husband.

He sees him in the park in the couple that walk through smiling and holding hands, enjoying each other's presence.

He sees him in the ocean, in the sky, when he sees his favorite liquor at the store, in the accent of the weatherman on channel 12, in the diner he loved to take him to, in the san diego heat, in the rain that drips down the window, and everyday when he wakes up and spends his days in the air in a cockpit teaching a younger generation the skills and maneuvers the two of them perfected together.

He sees him everyday, every hour, every minute, every second.

And he thinks he’ll keep seeing his husband in everything until the day he dies.

They’ll meet again, he doesn’t know where, he doesn’t know when; but he knows they’ll meet again, some sunny day.

TFP bots if humans could also have outliers and the kids each have a power though none of them want to talk about it because the popular human opinion on these individuals is that they’re dangerous and worry the bots might share the opinion if they find out.

*deranged laugh* This is was so much fun to write about. I hope you like what I came up with!

Human Outliers

Due to a random series of mutations within human DNA, occasionally there are children born with abilities that defy usual biology. These children are almost always feared by the general population and put into programs specially made to help them control their abilities. Jack, Miko, and Rafael happen to be outliers, and each of them have kept their abilities secret from those not required to know for their own reasons.

Jack

Jack's outlier ability is somewhat of a classic and not too out of the ordinary when it comes to powers. He has superhuman strength, and at the cost of needing to consume copious amounts of food, can even match the bots in power if he pushes himself. However growing up with his outlier ability was not an easy experience for him.

His father walked out on him and his mother as soon as his power manifested. And all throughout his younger years he suffered from anger issues, breaking things and even harming his mother on occasion before he learned to control himself. Since he was very little he has feared his power and has purposefully avoided taking in any serious calories for fear of hurting others. Due to his hesitance to take in any more energy than necessary, he is a rather weak teen, with no significant muscle mass and painfully thin by normal standards.

He desperately wants to be normal and not to be "cursed" with his abnormal ability. He fears touching others and prefers to keep several feet between him and anyone else even though he is limiting his intake. Meeting Miko and Rafael have helped him feel a little less out of place, but if given the option he would still gladly give up his outlier ability.

Rafael

Rafael's outlier ability has caused him much distress due to how taxing it is for him to use and how dangerous it can be if he isn't careful. He is capable of infiltrating the minds of others and implementing thoughts, desires, and commands. It is a form of mind control, but one which is not the easiest to use as he is forced to fight the mind he is attempting to influence.

Due to the fact that his outlier ability was active from birth, he was kept in solitude for most of his infancy, only ever associating with his parents. Specialists came and taught him how to control his power all throughout his toddler years alongside teaching him normal school subjects for his age group. However there were still accidents, and unfortunately he broke the mind of another during a temper tantrum. Since then he has refused to use his power seriously, only ever suggesting things to the minds of others and never trying to take full control.

He does not hate his outlier ability, he has had it since birth and views it as another, albeit far more dangerous, limb. However his gift has led him to fall further into his studies instead of developing actual human connections. Jack and Miko are his only human friends as their outlier abilities make it rather difficult to invade their minds by accident.

Miko

MIko's outlier ability is highly sought after but also rather inconvenient for her. She is capable of short range teleportation, being able to teleport to any location in her field of vision. This ability has not been easy to learn how to use though. Not only does it exhaust her mentally, but far too often she ends up overshooting if she is unfamiliar with the area.

Her ability came in late by outlier standards. She was around eight when her power finally showed itself, as such she is still learning how to use it properly. She has gotten stuck in tight spaces, almost fallen off several high ledges, and involuntarily ended up teleporting, nearly getting her killed via incoming cars and other hazards. To combat this, she is required to wear special glasses that adjust her vision in such a way that she can't teleport without first taking them off. Even with them on, she still randomly can find herself teleporting if she is familiar with the area and a little too excited to get from point A to point B.

Miko loves her outlier ability and thinks it is the best thing ever. However she also is not fond of showing it off because of the stigma surrounding outliers. She has lost one too many friends after finally feeling comfortable enough to show them her gift. As such she likes hanging around Rafael and Jack more than anyone else. They don't judge and she gets to help them be more comfortable with themselves. It's a win win situation in her book.

The Bots Reactions to Outliers

The Autobots find the concept of outliers among an organic species to be downright fascinating. Optimus sees the outlier powers as a gift from the human creator god, whoever that might be. The gifts, in his mind, being intended to help protect the rather fragile race of humans from other, stronger entities such as Cybertronians. Ratchet thinks it is the strangest mutation of all time, he can't figure out how human biology does what it does regularly and he most certainly doesn't feel like touching outlier biology with a ten foot pole.

Bulkhead and Wheeljack both agree that human outliers are neat. They don't have any deep reasoning behind it, they just like watching an itty bitty organic do incredible physics defying things with no real explanation. Arcee was of the common belief on Cybertron that outliers were dangerous and should be contained. Her belief has translated over to the human outliers, and honestly she thinks it would be best for all parties if outliers were separated from the general population.

Ultra Magnus is in a similar boat to Arcee, he is not fond of outliers, human or Cybertronian, but he does see their use. If he could have his way he would make a separate division in the human government just for the outliers, training them from the moment they got their powers to benefit the people. Smokescreen agrees with Ultra Magnus in that outliers should be kept separate in some way, shape, or form from the public. But he also firmly believes that outliers have as much of a right to autonomy as any other being, as such he finds human outliers fascinating, but ultimately creatures with very specific, predetermined functions.

Bumblebee does not care where outlier abilities come from or what they do. All that matters to him is that the person with the powers, human or Cybertronian, takes care to use their abilities for good. So long as that happens he could care less about what the outliers do with themselves.

The (partial) Reveal

The kids have tried to keep their abilities a secret from the bots since day one. And for the most part, they have succeeded. However there have been instances where their powers were almost revealed by accident.

In one outrageous example of this, Jack literally threw a Vehicon in a desperate attempt to keep Miko and Raf from being hurt. He played it off as a instance of hysterical strength, and for the most part, no bot questioned him. They knew far too little about humans in general to tell weather or not Jack was lying about his biology. Ratchet was the only one who gave Jack a side eyed look, but ultimately he brushed it off as a strange human quirk.

Rafael had a similar close call when he, out of sheer curiosity, decided to try and poke at Bumblebee's mind just to see if it was possible for his powers to apply to an alien lifeform. The scout noticed the intrusion immediately and flipped out, his harsh mental rejection causing Rafael to have a nasty migraine. Bumblebee noticed Rafael's sudden pain and was left wondering what the cause could be. After brushing his mental encounter aside, Bumblebee focused on helping Rafael and didn't think too hard on the possibility of Rafael being entity attempting to mess with his processors.

Miko's instance of almost being caught using her abilities came when she was having a very erratic day, causing her outlier powers to go on the fritz. All throughout her time at base she would appear randomly and without a sound, always looking a little surprised with herself and very much guilty of something. The bots questioned her, but eventually just let it be as anything connected to Miko likely involves no small amount of chaos.

After several more of these close calls getting ignored or brushed off by the bots, the kids started getting more bold when it came to use of their abilities.

Jack casually started lifting furniture and handing Ratchet one of his larger tools when the opportunity presented itself. The medic and most of the base would look at him with wide optics before muttering something along the lines of "humans are terrifying" before leaving the matter alone. Sometimes just for the kick of it Jack will, without even breaking a sweat, bend metal as though he were fiddling with playdough just to watch Ratchet look at him in mixed awe and horror. He even started leaping down from the "human platform" whenever he needed to get to Arcee, once again startling all those present. By now the bots know or at least are very nearly certain that Jack is an outlier, but none of them, not even Arcee, dare say anything, not when Jack is comfortable and finally eating a healthy amount of food.

Rafael, eventually not caring all that much if he was discovered and only wanting to cause as much chaos as possible before getting caught, began sending the bots random probing mental touches throughout the day. Some, like Arcee, Ultra Magnus, and Smokescreen, completely shut him out and scurried off looking rather unsettled every time he tried to touch their minds (Rafael thinks this is hilarious and messes with them whenever he can). Ratchet and Bumblebee stopped giving visible reactions after a while, and as such quickly lost Rafael's interest. As for Optimus, he welcomed Rafael into his mind whenever Rafael attempted to touch his processors. At this point Rafael knows Optimus knows, but neither say anything and Rafael is allowed to send his thoughts to Optimus whenever he desires.

Miko uses her abilities super casually, not even bothering to hide her powers very well but still managing to come up with the most insane excuses for her quick and silent movement. Miko suddenly turns up on Ratchet's work station? What on earth are you talking about Ratchet? She has been there for the last 10 minutes, haven't you noticed? Miko finds her way into the rafters with no visible method of transportation? Don't the bots know she is an excellent climber? Miko find her way onto Optimus shoulder without so much as a peep to alert the Prime? You put her there Optimus, did you forget?

The bots all know at this point, but none say anything. They have learned of how human outliers are treated and have no desire to make the children uncomfortable. Maybe one day they will discuss it outright, but not yet. Let the children play a little longer.

It had been a handful of months since stone had managed to pull robotnik out of the death eggs wreck, and finally things were looking up for the two. Stone had managed to secure a deal with a jewel thief to collect the master emerald on his and the doctors behalf, production to construct an army of badniks was under way, he had finally discovered the location of project shadow, and robotnik could walk again, albeit barely.

It was to no one's surprise that falling 500 feet down did a number on robotnik's body, but stone was just glad it was salvageable. Even if he wouldn't be able to move like he used to.

“Do you really need to replace the bandages everyday stone? The wounds have already closed up.”

Robotnik winced as stone wrapped another layer of tight gauze onto him.

“Yes. Your bones are still broken and we need to keep them in place. But if we keep the bandages on for too long, they'll get dirty.”

Stone lied. Not about the bones, but more so about the bandages. In reality he could wait around a few days before he replaced it, but he liked being this close to the other.

A huff sounded out from in front of the agent.

“And then I'll get dirty; I've got it already stone.”

The agent chuckles at the doctor's sour attitude… mentally of course.

“I know….”

A long silence creeped through the room after that. The only audible sound was stone, carefully, wrapping the doctor's bandages.

As always, robotnik was the one to talk first.

“I think I've discovered just what you are over this ‘break’ agent.”

He couldn't help but raise an eyebrow at the comment.

“And that would be sir?”

“You're a gerontophile, a sycophant with a penchant for silver foxes, or to dumb it down for you, you like your men with a 20 year age gap.”

A snort managed to slip its way out between stone’s normally sealed lips.

“is something about what i said humoring you agent, because i don't believe i've told a joke.” Robotnik snapped; head instinctually swiveling up to face stone.

“How old do you think I am doctor?”

He tried to hide the hint of amusement in his gaze as he watched confusion contort on robotnik's face.

“Somewhere in your early 30’s obviously.”

Stone shook his head, unable to seal the laugh inside his mouth any longer.

“I'm flattered sir, really, but I'm 42.”

The audible gasp robotnik let out was simply beautiful.

“Your in your 40’s?”

Stone nodded, causing the bewildered expression on robotnik's face to quickly turn into a scowl.

“You're lying. There's No way in hell you're 42.”

The agent could help but snicker a bit.

“and how, or why, would I be lying to you doctor?”

“Because, you ignoramus, you simply look too good to be in your 40’s. Nobody that old has such soft features without a wrinkle in sight. It's impossible.”

A bright smile crept its way onto stones cheeks.

“You think I'm good looking?”

In hindsight, Stone should have put more thought into self-preservation, as robotnik was not the only one he had to bandage up after that.
