A world where humans are considered similar to Analogue Horror creatures
It's just an idea that popped into my head when I was having another binge watch of analogue horrors. It can work with a normal story, the Isekai (other world) genre, or with Humans Fuck Yeah! stories, or maybe more.
Aw man, imagining an alien freaking out and recording a human in a analogue horror-esque style would both be so cool and extremely funny.
[If you see a Human in your vicinity, run away and hide.]
This is so ridiculous but it's an interesting idea, no?

Transformers: Analog Horror Style
I've been talking about this on a non fandom related Discord and decided to bring it here. There are various analog horrors that utilize non horror series such as Splatoon 3 or Jurassic Park. It felt only right to add something like Transformers to the mix.
Extraterrestrial mechanical beings who can disguise themselves as various machinery, grainy footage and videotapes that only hold clues??? Perfect material for a horror. Here's some ideas that came to mind.
Decepticons
Nowhere is safe and one wrong move can potentially be your last. The Internet is a stalking ground so post or search with caution. Lest you wind up on Soundwave's radar. This Decepticon will be happy to light up his targets for one reason: an insidious hunt for the spy master's cassettes to enjoy.
Ever seen a beautiful sports car parked by the side with a sleek blood red paint job? DO NOT TOUCH. Unless you want to meet the same fate as all the others who run afoul with Knockout.
A terror in the skies that signals disaster wherever he appears. Pray the lone jet doesn't reveal it's true form. Don't look and hope he hadn't spotted you if a glimpse occurs. Survivors of Starscream are miniscule.
Results are all that matter. Morals? Worthless. Lives? Another opportunity to experiment. Emotions? Not needed. Shockwave only serves for the cause with lethal efficiency.
It is useless to hide. This will only excite him. Run as it chips away at his boredom. Fight and he'll be merry to slaughter the lamb caught in his gaze. All Hail Megatron as humanity is nothing but a plaything.
The only way this information can get through is by the way of analog. Find these tapes at your own risk. There is no turning back the moment the video starts. Decepticons don't lose their prey easily.
Autobots
It's nearly impossible to tell if they have good intentions unlike their more violent counterparts. The Internet is a double edged sword that needs to be regarded with caution. Autobots are at a greater disadvantage than you think. What little information about them is scarce.
Communication and knowledge is minimal. Some can speak but how comprehensible they are varies. The most understandable share only broken sentences that rarely blur into inhuman language. A few offer a 'soup' of linguistics which share little to no connection. Some play by the ear but don't understand what every word means. The remainder are mute, either speaking in their language or have no voice box to respond through.
Most don't understand how humans function. A situation that has led to people being slaughtered by Decepticons, accidental harm to the innocent, or danger by their fellow man who believe they gone insane. This has led to a decision from their leader, Optimus Prime.
Human help is REQUIRED. They need a liaison if the Autobots hope to even catch up to the Decepticons. Government related officials won't do as these humans are too volatile and always under Soundwave's surveillance.
What they need is a teacher. Someone who can offer such knowledge and not marked as a person of interest to their enemies. A bystander will do.
Pay attention to the car that appears outside your driveway. Look closer at the one following behind on the road. Did another join each car? Flee foolishly and they will give chase.
If the lights behind you disappear, DON'T RELAX. The Peterbilt is coming. Avoid him as he will trap you. Stop and the chance of escape dwindles. Turning off the engine was a bad mistake. DO NOT RUN. Optimus Prime will catch you and escape is impossible.
Welcome to the war. You can't escape until one side wins. The Autobots are guardians but also prison wards to their chosen liaison. You will be protected yet caution is still advised. Welcome to this new dangerous life.
That's it for now! Until next time folks, I'll see you later. Transform and Roll Out!

jason todd x gender neutral reader. 720 words. notes: a very abstract take on 'write a true story about you with characters instead of people', one of the prompts from the ever lovely @reaperintheroses drabble december! this was more 'write about feelings', but i tried. warnings: vague bad headspace on jason's part
he was in a mood.
you weren't sure what mood, but it wasn't good.
it was, however, familiar enough that you weren't surprised when he walked through the bedroom like a ghost.
all he took with him as he left it was a nail file.
you sat quietly, listening for the window.
there it was, about half a minute later: the sliding sound of the window in the frame was quiet but unmistakable, as was the sound of it sliding shut behind him.
fire escape brooding.
you sighed- that was a surefire sign that the mood had settled in completely. you had hoped, somewhat naïvely, that it would be a "wrong side of the bed" situation; had hoped he would be able to shake it off.
with the mood here to stay, you put your phone aside and slid out of bed.
it wasn't something to fix. not days like this. as much as you wished you could carry the weight of this for him, you settled instead for trying to share the load.
you took your time walking through the apartment, giving him his space for a little while as you boiled water and steeped tea for him.
you dug out his largest, warmest sweatshirt, tugging it on to brace against the cold you knew was wrapped around him both mentally and literally. then, with a glance at his silhouette in the window, you picked up his mug and approached.
he barely reacted to the sound of the window opening, only shifting slightly so his ear was towards you in silent acknowledgement.
"i made tea," you said softly, leaning on the sill. "interested?"
jason hesitated a moment, the only sounds the traffic below.
he shrugged, twirling the nail file between two fingers.
you reached over, gently pressing the mug into his free hand, watching as he pulled it to his chest with a hum.
"do you want space, or would you prefer i join you?"
"...you can." his voice was steady, but uncharacteristically quiet and lifeless. "not gonna be much company right now."
you slid out the window, closing it behind you, and he glanced up at you blankly. "you don't have to be," you said firmly, quietly, as you sat down beside him. "i'm just here."
the metal was freezing, even through your thick sweatpants. it would take more than a stretch of the imagination to call it comfortable, but you settled in like it was memory foam.
you sat in silence, listening to him breathe beside you and watching it fog in your peripheral.
you sat until your legs ached and your nose felt about ready to fall off from the cold. you sat for far longer than it took him to drain his mug. you sat long enough that the rush of lunch traffic came and went below you.
you sat watching gray clouds churn in the sky, offering the only comfort you could: he wasn't alone.
eventually, he inhaled deeply, and you felt something shift.
"you want a grilled cheese?" his voice was rough and quiet, but using it was a good sign.
you recognized the offer as the thank you that it was.
"yeah," you matched his volume, gently breaking your silence. "that sounds good."
it wasn't over, not by a long shot. you could feel it in the air around you, as though jason was a storm and the front was rolling in. it would be a few days, you suspected, of this- of disconnect, of that distant look in his eyes.
and that was the best case scenario.
he pushed himself up and off the ground, wincing when his bad ankle popped unpleasantly, and you changed your mind. he wasn't the storm. a storm in his own right, sure, strong and beautiful and immovable to all the world, but in this case he was standing on the coast and watching the storm turn the ocean angry.
he reached a hand down to help you up.
you took it, squeezing it once, twice, three times in quick succession as you hauled yourself to your feet. once there, you relaxed your grip.
he kept his, keeping your palm against his own. bracing himself against the wind.
you'd be damned if you let him board up the windows and sandbag the doorways on his own.

@analoginceweek Day Three: Disney/Adventure
Story below!
Well, today is the day. May 1st, the day Logan Sanders sold his soul to an anthropomorphic mouse to protect his friend’s privacy on his anniversary… okay that is not what happened. But it may as well have been! “Oh please, Logan!” Patton had begged. “You know how they feel about me and Janus, can you please just… you know, keep them busy?”
Logan wasn’t particularly fond of Janus and Patton making goo-goo eyes at each other either, but part of him pitied Patton. He only wanted to give his boyfriend a nice day, and if Logan could help him by spending the day with Roman and Virgil, that was pretty reasonable. After all, if Logan was in a relationship, Logan wouldn’t want Roman and Virgil to bother him on his anniversary either… not as bystanders anyway. Besides, it’ll be nice to have Patton owing him a favor.
So here he was. Standing at the gate of an imaginary magic kingdom with a blindfolded Roman and Virgil in tow, shaking with anticipation as they awaited the surprise that the logical side had described to them. Is this a good idea? Logan quickly answered his own unspoken question by shaking his head no.
Then he took their blindfolds off.
“What- OH MY GOD!! LOGAN, YOU DIDN’T!” Roman practically squealed when he realized where he is. He picks Logan up in an excited embrace/spin as the logical side raises an eyebrow but shrugs off whatever Roman meant by “you didn’t”. However, he is concerned when Virgil shoots him a look of suspicion (maybe not an unreasonable one considering that this is meant to distract them, Logan thinks before shrugging it off.) “Not a prank, not a trick. Just a fun theme park.” Logan assures Virgil, who smiles with satisfaction at the reassurance, his previously black eyeshadow beginning to shift to a sparkly purple color. “Thank you.” Virgil shoots Logan a grateful smile.
It’s so pretty. Logan smiles at the sight of Virgil’s expression of excitement as the latter takes off his hoodie and ties it around his waist. Meanwhile, Roman is losing his goddamn mind, running through the gate at the speed of sound before turning around, picking up his fellow sides, and runs back through the gate with them in his arms, which prompts Virgil to shout “Roman, put us down!” Which then in turn prompts Roman to shout “I’m sorry, I’m excited!”
Hah. Try to beat this, Patton. Not that this is a date. But hypothetically, if it was, it’d be better than whatever Patton came up with! If it was hypothetically a date. Not that that’s the case. It’s just a friend trip to the Magic Kingdom in the Mind Palace. Totally not a date. No. Nope. Of course not.

Cryptid batfamily, but the world starts learning about the 'vigilantes' in Gotham via a school project that they think is some sort of Analog horror or ARG. Like it gets incredibly popular because wow the CGI and videos are really good? Can you imagine if you had to worry about seemingly immortal killer clowns and undead bird creatures running around? Wow wouldn't that be crazy. And the lore is so fun too? Like there's the big shadow creature who steals away children who stay out too late? Some sort of crocodile man living in the sewers? A swamp that sometimes revives the dead? Like damn, what a cool series.
But then, then other heroes start to emerge around the world. People with super-speed, ancient warriors, honest to god aliens and magic. Which makes people start to wonder, even if it's just in the back of their minds, What if it's all true?

Writing prompts centered around the concept of found footage:
1. The Lost Expedition: A team of adventurers embarks on a journey to uncover a mythical artifact in an uncharted jungle. However, the only traces left behind are their scattered cameras and tapes. Write a story piecing together their eerie and mysterious final moments through the recovered footage.
2. The Haunted House: A group of friends decides to spend a night in an abandoned mansion known for its ghostly reputation. They bring cameras to document their experience, but as the night progresses, strange occurrences intensify. What horrors do they capture, and what secrets does the footage reveal about the house's past?
3. Unexplained Phenomenon: A series of inexplicable events start occurring in a small town. People begin disappearing, and strange lights are seen in the sky. As investigators dig deeper, they stumble upon various recordings showcasing these occurrences. Write about the investigation based on these found tapes and unravel the truth behind the bizarre happenings.
4. The Cryptic Signal : A radio operator intercepts a distress signal coming from a remote area. All they find at the site are tapes and recordings left behind by a scientific team. The footage depicts encounters with something inexplicable. What did they discover, and what caused their distress?
5. Time Capsule: A collection of old tapes and footage is discovered buried in a time capsule. The recordings document daily life from decades ago, but among the mundane footage, there are hints of something much darker. Unravel the mystery hidden within these seemingly ordinary recordings.
Feel free to explore these prompts, twisting and turning them to fit your own narrative ideas!

Was the curse of hatred actually a real thing? or did danzo just demonize the uchiha;s anger? idk, being murderously angry or just angry in general is a reasonable and human response to oppression and genocide.
Tumblr media
An interesting question. The Curse of Hatred looks dumb at first glance but there are also many misconceptions surrounding it.
Since it is such a hot mess to begin with, I will try to focus mostly on the in-universe canon and lore rather than making it even more complicated by bringing in too much real-world logic and criticizing Kishimoto.
There's a bunch of rambling in the tags though.
Kishimoto's Intentions
Whenever we talk about the "Curse of Hatred" the fandom will usually apply terms such as "racism", "bigotry" and "pseudoscience" - particularly in reference to Tobirama.
Again, I don't want to bring too much irl logic into this but I feel like we need to make a clear distinction between intention and interpretation over here. "[insert character] was a racist" and "the Uchiha were justified" is a valid interpretation of the story. But at the same time, I doubt that this was ever intended by Kishimoto.
In the narrative, everything we learn about the Curse of Hatred is framed as exposition rather than propaganda. The lore lines up pretty well with Kishimoto's beliefs and his idea that grudges are responsible for the cycle of war.
Tumblr media
Aside from that, Japan has a fairly homogenous population and, correct me if I'm wrong, is not as sensitized to themes of racism as other countries might be. And let's be real here, Kishimoto himself is not particularly known for having a lot of awareness for such themes either. So it is very unlikely that Kishimoto consciously decided to portray themes of racism.
In other words, the Curse of Hatred is real in canon.
What Is The "Curse of Hatred" Even?
I have to admit, it's been a while since the last time I watched Naruto from start to finish, so I had to use the sources listed by the wiki rather than relying on my own findings and I might be biased. Because of that, I'd prefer everybody to regard my findings as headcanon rather than undisputed fact.
As far as I remember, the exact wording "Curse of Hatred" is only ever used by Obito. While not using the same wording, the curse is also referenced by Itachi, Hagoromo, and Tobirama who each have their own understanding of it. Unfortunately, we have no idea where exactly this wording or concept originated.
Hiruzen, Koharu, Homura, and even Danzo, while potentially influenced by Tobirama's teachings, do not reference the Curse of Hatred at all, at least not in relation to the Uchiha Clan itself.
Tumblr media
Now here's the first one of my findings: The Curse of Hatred is supposed to be some sort of involuntary biological or cultural inclination causing Uchihas to become consumed by hatred but it is also something voluntary - a Nindo. While the former could be considered a "curse" in the traditional sense, the latter is definitely not.
For the Nindo, it is supposed to be some sort of antithesis to the Will of Fire. Because of that, it is not limited to the Uchiha but, according to Tobirama and Obito, closely associated. As explained later on in this post, most Uchihas do not follow this Nindo.
Tumblr media
Core aspects of the Curse of Hatred as a Nindo:
Valuing a precious few above the many
Directing your hatred at those who took away your precious few
Growing stronger from those feelings of hatred (for the Uchiha, reflected in the form of the Sharingan)
Tumblr media
A Biological Inclination?
Now back to Tobirama's theory, due to the narrative framing, we will assume his words to be truthful for the sake of this analysis. However, I will provide links to other people's posts delving into the fantasy racism discussion.
Tobirama is racist and his theories cannot be trusted. Tobirama is not racist and there is validity to his theories.
I myself do not completely agree with either of these, but they might be interesting reads for you. If you do not agree with either of them, please keep it to yourself and do not bother the original creators.
Tobirama's theory goes as follows:
The Uchiha feel love and hate more strongly than other individuals
The strength of the Sharingan and the Uchihas' hatred are correlated
In a fit of hatred, odds are an Uchiha will commit evil
Tumblr media
It is nowhere mentioned that the Uchiha are more likely to feel hate - only that their hatred is worse than the average person's and puts them at risk of being swayed by hateful ideologies.
A Cultural Inclination?
Aside from Tobirama's theory, multiple characters comment on the historical origin behind the Curse of Hatred.
We are talking, of course, about Indra. Obito explains that Indra's values and his hatred (particularly what later became the Nindo of the Curse of Hatred) were passed down to his descendants - the Uchiha clan. Tobirama's exposition implies the same thing.
Tobirama states that there "used to be a thought that [...] the basis of the Uchiha clan's strength was the power of their jutsu". It is very similar to Hagorormo's description of his son.
Tumblr media
If this is correct, that would mean that the importance placed on powerful jutsu by the Uchiha Clan does inadvertently promote hatred due to the close correlation between hatred and the Sharingan.
But then again, in the story, it is shown that many Uchiha were not particularly fond of perpetuating hate and it is also implied that to avoid hatred, they sealed their emotions away. My interpretation is that they recognized the pain that hate could cause and then took steps to avoid it.
Tumblr media
The Reincarnation Cycle
Sticking with Indra, another explanation that is frequently brought up is Indra's and Ashura's reincarnation cycle, which has also been described as curse-like or haunting and neverending. A fate seemingly set in stone.
There is not much more to say, other than that this theory suggests that Indra's reincarnates are just naturally inclined towards lusting for power.
Tumblr media
The True Origin
Now, here's another thing that's constantly being overlooked. Aside from Obito's exposition in chapter 462 on the Curse of Hatred Nindo, Tobirama's exposition in chapter 619 on the Uchiha's tendency to follow said Nindo, and even Hagoromo's exposition on the reincarnation cycle in chapter 670, we get a vital piece of exposition in chapter 681.
Ladies, gentlemen, and anything in between. May I introduce to you...
Tumblr media
...the real Curse of Hatred.
Or at the very least what I believe is the real reason why the "Curse of Hatred" exists in the world of Naruto.
From the very beginning, Zetsu approached Indra to take advantage of his hatred and turn it into a tool for his own purposes. He then did that again and again. He focused on the Uchiha in particular - Either because of the previously mentioned reasons (i.e. the Uchiha / incarnates have a tendency to become obsessed with hatred and power) or because Hagoromo's stone tablet was left in the Uchihas' possession (which became another tool for manipulation).
In order to achieve his goal (awakening a Rinnegan), he had to somehow combine both Indra's and Ashura's power. It is implied that for this purpose, he instigated, perpetuated, and escalated wars and conflicts between Senju and Uchiha by pitting their reincarnates against each other. But unlike the wars he caused, Zetsu went unnoticed by the history books. Basically, he kept haunting the clans like a curse.
Tumblr media
Without a doubt, had Zetsu never been there, 99% of the Uchihas' problems would not exist - regardless of what ideals, genes, or history the Uchiha hold.
You could even think this further. Perhaps Tobirama's, Obito's, Hagoromo's and everybody else's explanations were just desperate attempts to make sense of anything. They didn't know that Zetsu was pulling the strings, so perhaps they tried to explain the Uchiha Clan's history in some other way.

You will be an influencer coming to sign a contract with the trillion-dollar company, Forsythe-Newman Technology Management (FNTM), which is a household name and widely considered to distribute the best, most high-quality film making equipment on the market.
You take a plane to the Albuquerque International Sunport, and from there you head south on the Rail Runner Express, the state-wide railroad. You ride in the train car for several hours, watching the sprawling desert scenery rush past, and notice the presence of humans becoming dauntingly scarce. You disembark in Truth of Consequences, the home of the infamous Toybox Killer, and from there, your contracting company provides a car with a driver to take you the rest of the way down to Lone Pine.
The driver explains that you've been provided with housing, food, and brand-new production equipment in exchange for living in Lone Pine to produce content regarding the eerie paranormal activity reported there. They make extended and uncomfortable eye contact in the rear-view mirror, and when they stop to let you out, you hardly have time to take your bags from the car before the driver peels out and races back down the road from whence you came.

Madness Combat: Analog Horror
I just realized that Madness Combat also has potential in the analog horror category. Like on the surface, it's a web series consisting of simplistic looking creatures being violently chaotic to the point reality breaks. The graphics alone makes it even more comical. Until you realize the potential context.
A post apocalypse realm where reality itself is slowly destabilizing, non-stop violence in every flavor that buying a hot dog could get someone killed, scarce resources where cannibalism becomes necessity, the dead roam the earth and not even purgatory is safe. Either you adapt or die in the madness driven Nevada. Now imagine something like that breaking into our world.
Project: Madness
An advanced survival simulator game meant to craft various scenarios for learning purposes. These situations take place in a digital construct based on U.S's Nevada and are based on the user's input. It was originally meant to be a simple game for public consumption. What Project: Madness became would wrought a horror unlike no other... And this was just the start.
In Osceola, Michigan there's a mysterious stop sign that only appears at night. An odd thing where crimson paint meant to embolden it's warning is instead replaced with dead grey. It never stays in one place as the sign will disappear the next night and emerge halfway across the county.
Should you see this particular sight, LEAVE IMMEDIATELY. Do not stop, keep running but never look away. You aren't alone as the sign's owner is always there. Those who invite Tricky the Clown into their homes have a welcome party of blood and horror.
Yalobusha, Mississippi is considered the most religious place in the United States. Churches that worship various forms of Christianity can be found everywhere. Rumors have it there been sightings which revolve the Messiah, Jesus Christ.
A figure who walks the dead of night with a halo that shines brighter than the sun. Many fanatics often sought out their savior in hopes for salvation. The ones who don't find him should be grateful. What they really seek is merely a monster that believes he's a savior. Jebus brings disaster to those who get too close.
In the Appalachian Mountains of Virginia, disappearances involving hikers and campers has skyrocketed. Any investigator who gone searching for these lost souls soon follow the same fate. No leads have been as time went by.
That is until an broken VHS camcorder was found in a pool of bloody gore with a intact tape still inside. Officials call off the search immediately and lockdown the area. Now they know the terror that comes when one runs afoul of MAG Agent Torture.
A string of grisly murders ransacks West Virginia's country side. The Mothman Killer Crimson rightfully earn their legendary name. Piercing blood red eyes are the only warning you have to run from absolute disaster.
Very few survivors cannot even describe their assailant lest they die of sheet fright. A reaper who rules over the dark and heart tainted black maddening bloodlust. The moment you enter the sight of Hank J Wimbleton, it is too late.
And these incidents are beginning to spread...
That's it for now! Until next time folks, continue to thrive in the madness.
