Randomly remembered a theatre memory where an ex director came to a different show I did and vagued at me ("hmm lots of lines for you in this role, huh?") Bc I said I felt underutilized (which was true, it was a cast of 35 for little shop which is way too many) to my friend and I guess she heard about it? Anyways just remembered how weird that was like how r u gonna shade a 17 year old as a full adult?? Hello??

satoru knows every part of you. every things you like and hate. he's able to locate each and every mole you have on your body and how many it is. it's like knowing you have been a second nature to him. in order words, he knows your whole nature and that's how you fell in love with him.
he knows you don't like eating a watermelon with seeds on it. you don't want to spit it out after or let alone eat it.
satoru silently observes you as you payed all of your attention to the sliced watermelon on your hands. picking every black seeds you see in the fruit.
you were getting irritated and he sighs, picking a sliced watermelon on the table and removed all the seeds in mere seconds.
"here, eat this. i already removed all of the seeds." he hands you a sliced watermelon. the red juicy part was clean. no seeds. just like how you like it.
"ah.. thanks.." you murmur, accepting the fruit and that was first time you felt a fluttering emotion on your tummy as you stare at the watermelon he handed you.
"mhm.." he hums. "you don't like it with the seeds on it, right?" he asks and you nodded. he hums again, nodding his head in a subtle way.
no seeds on her sliced watermelon, got it.
you like the beach, especially the sunset. he remembers peeking on your phone one time and due to his curiosity, he opened your photo gallery and you have a folder named 'sunsets<3'.
it has a lot of your pictures in the beach, capturing the breathtaking sunset and there are also pictures with just the sun but he likes the pictures with you in it. you're prettier than the sunset, anyways.
"we should go here sometime. the four of us." he tells suguru as they walk on the sand barefooted.
they just finished their mission and their flight will be tomorrow morning so they're spending their time to relax.
satoru keeps his eye on the setting sun. pink and purples hues were seen on the sky.
picture.. yes. i should take a picture for her. he thoughts and brought out his phone to take a picture. he sends the picture to you.
annoying blue-eyed freak: sent a photo.
annoying blue-eyed freak: sunset's pretty here today. you might like it.
you take a look at the photo he sent and the photo's automatically saved on your folder 'picture he sends'.
sunset lover princess: thanks, love it.
he smiles over the three letter word you sent. yep, his day's now complete with just your reply.
unknowingly to him, suguru secretly took a photo of him and he captured the most breathtaking satoru gojo photo to exist.
it's a photo of him on his side, smiling on his phone and the background is the sunset.
cool bangs: sent a photo.
your phone dings. you thought it's another photo of sunset from satoru but no. it's satoru with the sunset but he's not looking at the camera.
you stare at it for good few minutes.
cool bangs: if you're just going to stare at it, you might as well save it. i might delete it.
that message from suguru alone had your fingers saving his photo and put it on another album. a secret album named 'photos i love'.
yes, definitely 'love'.
satoru also knows that you love movie nights with them. horror, romance, or action. name all the genres present. you once told him that it's not about the movie you're excited but being able to spend time with your friends.
being a jujutsu sorcerer at a young age costs your freedom as a child and to dream. you will never know when you will die or vanish from this world. that's why you're spending all of their freedom time with you and they're actually okay with it.
same feelings, as they said.
"ahh! suguru! tell me when the haunted dolls are gone!" satoru clings to suguru as he scream out of his lungs.
"no, you watch it satoru. be a big brave man." he teases the young boy more. "i heard she likes men who's brave and can watch horror movies with her." he whispers to his best friend.
satoru eyes his best friend with a look of suspicious. "are you... sure?"
"her biggest turn off is actually a scared cat like men." he hums, adding more false informations about your type. "meaning, a boy like you, satoru." he dramatically covered his forehead and his eyes to express his disappointment for his best friend.
suguru knows that even when his best friend is screaming like a lady, you'll still like him. even though he can't bear to watch a single horror movie, you'll still like him because he's satoru. the annoying blue-eyed freak that constantly running on your mind twenty-four seven.
the two best friends eyes the two of you. shoko and you, unimpressed on their nonstop bickering and satoru's screams and unbothered on the horror scene in front of you.
wow. just wow. what a scene.
ever since then, you always invite them to watch a newly released movie, mostly horrors but in rare cases, you want to watch romance.
"oh sweet. they're kissing like it's the end of the world." satoru commented as he pushes a mouthful of popcorn on his mouth.
shoko and suguru went out for a smoke since romance is not really their thing but they still agreed to watch just to see you happy. and they couldn't refuse when you were that cute begging them to watch it with them.
"because that's how they are desperate to be with each other." you reply. "i mean, you'll surely kiss a person like that when the world's trying to separate you. you will pour all of your emotions in that kiss to express your feelings." you further explains.
he raises an eyebrow at you. "i thought you're only interested in horror. why are you so knowledgeable about love?"
"books..?"
"yeah? and?"
"what do you mean by that?"
"have you ever kissed a person like that before?" his question caught you off guard and you turns to him.
"what? no! it's not like that! do i need to have an experience to explain those?" you defend yourself. you haven't been kissed yet!
"want me to give you an experience, then?"
you were caught you off guard and you didn't have time to react when he leans to you, kissing the side of your lips. too close to be called a kiss. too close to end your 'no first kiss' phase.
"i like you." he mutters as he looks at you straight in the eye. you're still close to each other and you can feel his breathe on your skin. "more than any of my favorite sweets." he adds, making you laugh.
"i like you, too. more than any favorite sunset i had captured and saw." you confess.
he smiles but his face immediately turns into a sour face. "even though i can barely watch a horror movie?" he asks cutely and you burst into laugh.
"w-who.." you can't stop yourself from laughing. "who said that?"
"suguru." he mentions his best friend. so, the dark haired male is the suspect on spreading false claims.
"I like someone who removes all of the seeds on my sliced watermelon." he smiles at that sentence.
"i like someone who will immediately thought of me whenever he sees sunset and sends me a picture of it." he smiles even more as he closes the gap between you slowly.
"yeah? and? you like someone who's very handsome, too, right?" he grins. "you like a certain someone whose contact name is 'annoying blue-eyed freak', right?"
it made you chuckle. how did he even know that one? you always made sure to lock your phone and keep the password to yourself only.
"i like someone who can't watch a horror movie with me and full of screams–"
he shuts you up by putting his lips onto yours and then pulls away.
your 'no first kiss' phase have officially signed off.
satoru clearly knows that you love movie nights, especially horror movies with him screaming but satoru knows that you love him even more than your collection of horror movies and the sunset you have ever captured and saw in your whole life.

After your late night between the sheets, you treated yourself to a lie in the next morning. Waking to find a text from Carly to meet her by the pool with the others when you were ready, so you quickly threw on a bikini and shorts before throwing over a shirt and grabbing your things to go and find her.
You knew they shouldn’t, but Mason's words from yesterday were playing in your head a little bit still. You knew he meant nothing by it and was just being his cheeky self but you didn’t want to be a customer of his no matter if he meant it as a joke or not. It made you feel as if you were in a long line of girls he picked up whenever he felt like it and yes you were technically just friends but you couldn’t help but feel upset about it. Especially after the awkward good night you’d suffered through after you were both done last night and you felt like the whole arrangement you had going on was a bit weird now.
By the time you were outside pretty much everyone was there bar Woody, Kayla and Mason and you quickly said hello to Dec and Lauren before making your way over to Carly who had Ben's head laid in her lap as she played with his hair.
‘Morning lovebirds’ you smiled, standing at the end of their sun lounger before Carly patted the one next to her.
‘I’ve saved you a seat’
‘Oh, that’s a double though I don’t wanna take up a whole one to myself’ you told her, looking to see if one of the single ones were free but they were on the other side of the pool so you wouldn’t be able to speak to her.
‘There’s plenty for everyone else, come on it’s fine’ she pouted and after another quick scan around you realised she was right so you got yourself comfortable. The pair of you sat chatting and catching up until the others emerged and about half an hour later Mason showed up. The sight of him making your mouth water as he made his way over to everyone.
You’d seen him in a lot less by now but the tiny black swim shorts were making your tummy churn as they accentuated all your favourite features of his. Low on his soft hips but his thighs were still strong and the mole on his tummy was driving you wild. You kept your eyes down though and pretended to read as he made his way over to you.
‘Morning all’ he chirped and you sent him a quick smile before going back to reading. It didn’t deter him from flopping down next to you though and when you didn’t look at him, you felt his hand gently trail up your thigh before giving it a quick squeeze.
‘What are you doing?’ You whispered, heart racing from the feel of his fingers. Gulping down a nervous lump and quickly flashing your eyes his way to look at him. He was giving you his usual cheeky, innocent smile but you knew he knew what was happening.
‘What?’
‘Don’t, people might see’ you told him, moving your leg so his hand dropped onto the cushion with a thud and you could see his scowl from the corner of your eye.
‘What’s wrong?’
‘Nothing, I’m fine’
‘Did you sleep okay?’
‘I said I’m fine’
‘Y/n, I grew up in a house full of women. I know fine doesn’t mean fine’
‘I just wanna read my book’ you told him lowly and after a small nod he slowly got up and made his way over to the pool.
You felt awful instantly, watching him over your glasses as he swam a few laps with a solemn expression. You knew Mason and you knew he meant no harm with what he’d said yesterday. This was a tricky situation, lines were a little bit blurry but there was no use being snappy with him for something you knew he meant as a joke and you were being sensitive over. No matter how much he’d made you feel like it was something else, even in this short space of time, you were friends and the friendship comes first.
The longer you watched him, the more guilty you felt and you watched as he propped himself up at the end of the pool. His chin resting on his arms as he faced away from you and you knew you had to talk to him and apologise so you carefully got up to go and see him. Plonking yourself down at the edge of the pool next to him so you could dangle your legs in the water before looking at him in hopes you could catch his eye.
He looked up at you instantly, his big brown eyes making your tummy sink so you reached out to gently grasp the back of his head so you could pull him closer to you and he thankfully went with it. Your heart leaping when he settled himself between your legs, arms wrapping around your thighs before he rested his cheek on top of one so he could look up at you.
‘Sorry Mase. I didn’t mean to be moody’ you told him quietly and the small smile on his lips filled you with relief.
‘S’okay. Are you alright?’
‘I’m fine, I promise’ you reassured him, feeling even worse that he didn't seem to mind your mood swing. He just wanted to make sure you were okay. ‘Maybe I should have stayed in bed a bit longer, huh? I’ll be fine after a nap’
‘You’ve only just woken up’ he chuckled, eyes brighter than before which caused you to smile as you knew you were okay again and you let your hand get lost in his hair.
‘Hey, naps can be taken anytime of the day’
‘Very true’ he giggled, squeezing your thighs gently. ‘Let me know when you’re taking one I’ll join you’
You weren’t sure if it was the sun bearing down on you or if it was Mason himself but you felt warmed from the inside and as your hand was trailing over the top of his back and you were surprised at how warm his skin felt too. ‘Have you put sunscreen on?’ You asked but he shook his head shyly. ‘Come on, I’ve got some let me help you’
‘You don’t wanna come for a swim?’
‘No thanks, waters not really my thing. You should be thankful I’m even sat here’ you laughed before he kissed your thigh and swam back slightly to let you up.
Mason managed to dry off a little bit before he sat at the end of the sun lounger with his back to you and you slid in behind him to get to work. You'd never really taken a good look at his back before but he was much broader than you realised and you loved the way his muscles contracted under your touch. Taking your time to really look at him and feel him before telling him to turn and face you.
You let him get comfortable, one leg stretched out on the lounger now so you could sit yourself closer to his body. Noticing the way he shivered as you applied the cold cream to his skin before sending him an apologetic smile. He didn’t seem to mind though, a soft smile playing on his face as he watched your every move and you hoped he couldn’t hear your heart going at a mile a minute as you touched his chest and down to his abs.
It felt weird having these feelings. Mason was a friend and you knew that. But he was a gorgeous, funny and kind friend with an incredible body and you couldn’t believe you were sat here touching him up like this in front of everyone. Only made worse when his hand reached out to touch your thigh carefully.
The sound and feel of his belly rumbling as you applied the sunscreen to his body made you chuckle, eyeing him curiously as he laughed at himself before you rested your hands on his hips.
‘You not had anything to eat yet?’ You asked, watching him shake his head before you let out a little sigh. ‘Why not?’
‘You didn’t make me anything’
‘Oh so it’s my fault?’ You laughed, squeezing his sides playfully and watching him giggle and squirm before he nodded his head.
‘Well sort of yeah. It’s sort of your job whilst you’re here’ he winked causing you to roll your eyes but you knew he was right.
‘Fine. Just your face to do then I’ll make you something’ you smiled, applying some more cream to your fingers before awkwardly pushing your sunglasses up your face so you could get a better look at him. Thankfully for you the sun was behind you so you could see him perfectly and the sight almost took your breath away. Admiring all the tiny freckles that littered his face, the curve of his nose and the fullness of his lips. He really was beautiful and you used the excuse of putting sunscreen on his face to look at him like you never had before.
You knew he was watching you too, his bright brown eyes following you out of the corner of your eye but as soon as you tried to make eye contact, he looked down and a rosy tint began to flush over his cheeks.
‘I’ve never noticed how many freckles you have before’ you told him quietly, letting his eyes flicker up to you again before looking away. ‘They’re really pretty, I’m actually very jealous’ you whispered but before he could reply the sound of someone else’s voice caught your attention.
‘Oi Mase, why are you so red?’ Ben laughed from behind you and the fact that Ben had noticed only made it even worse. ‘Are you blushing?’
‘No, fuck off. It’s the sun’ he retorted, his hands suddenly retreating from your leg as he played with his fingers in his lap and you felt your heart sink a little bit.
‘Ben’ you suddenly heard Carly moan. Drawing his name out in disappointment followed by the sound of a gentle slap to the back of his head. ‘Will you stop it. Leave him alone’
‘What? I’m just-‘
‘No you’re being mean’
‘Come on, let me go make you something’ you smiled softly, standing up and offering him your hand even though you knew it was a bit risky but he took it anyway and let you pull him up before following you into the kitchen. ‘You want anything in particular?’
‘Whatever the chef recommends’ he winked and after a quick look in the cupboards you found everything you needed to make pancakes.
Mason sat and watched as you got everything together, asking if he could help in any way so you passed him a few bananas for him to slice up so they were ready before asking him to get the drinks ready. When you finally placed his food down in front of him he sent you the most appreciative smile and your heart thudded at his wide grin.
‘Thank you, Muffin. These look amazing’ he smiled as you put your plate down opposite him and watched him dig in. You loved waiting for Mason's reactions whenever you made him something to eat as he was always seemingly blown away and this time was no exception. Shovelling it in like he’d been starved for weeks as he let you know how good it was in between mouthfuls.
‘What’s going on here?’ You suddenly heard, turning to see Dec walking in, eyes on your plates as he licked his lips before sitting down next to you. ‘Why is he getting special treatment?’
‘He’s not’ you laughed, cheeks flushing at the thought of being found out. ‘Do you want something?’
‘No thanks, Lauren made me something earlier’ he teased whilst nicking a few blueberries from Masons plate.
‘Why are you moaning then?’ Mason laughed, moving his plate away out of Declan’s reach so he couldn’t take anymore of his food.
‘Cause that looks better than what I had’
‘You wait till I tell Lauren that. You won’t be eating for the rest of the week’ Mason teased, watching Dec’s face drop before standing up.
‘You do that, and I’ll make things difficult for you’ he scoffed before grabbing a few bottles of water out of the fridge. ‘Now hurry up you two, we need someone else for water volleyball’
‘I’ll be out in a minute, y/n can keep score’ Mason told him, sending you a quick wink as if he was acknowledging what you told him earlier and once you were both done he quickly helped you wash up before meeting them outside.
Kayla had also decided to sit this one out so you sat with her, pretending to keep score as you got to know each other a little better and you were pleased to find out how suited to Woody she was. She seemed to really care for him and when Woody jumped out the pool to grab his glasses she blushed as he placed a quick kiss to the top of her head.
‘You and Mason seem sweet together’
‘Oh we’re not together’ You told her, ‘we’re just friends’
‘Oh I’m so sorry’ she panicked, face going ever redder and she tried to hide in her hands but you just laughed which seemed to make her feel better. ‘I just assumed, thinking it was a couples holiday. That’s why I was so confused about you having separate rooms, you seem really close’
‘Its okay, we are pretty close and I think since he’s moved away i just miss him a bit more than usual. It’s nice to be with him again for more than a couple of hours’
‘Oh trust me, Woody doesn’t shut up about him and then every Tuesday at 8pm on the dot they have their little weekly facetime. Sometimes I think I should be worried’
‘You should speak to Lauren about that’ you laughed, watching Mason try and climb on Ben's shoulders so he could reach higher for the ball. ‘I think she’s genuinely worried Dec might leave her for him one day’
After another 20 minutes or so everyone was ready to get out, Woody stealing Kayla away to their own lounger and you’d noticed Mason had sunk down on the one you’d been occupying earlier. His eyes caught yours straight away as he called you back over so you gathered up your things to go and sit by him again.
‘Mase you’re all wet’ you complained as you got there, walking round to his side so you were further away from Carly and Ben and hopefully out of ear shot before watching him shake his hair like a dog as he sent you a lopsided smile.
‘It’s alright, I’ll dry. I wondered if you fancied that nap you spoke about earlier?’ He asked and you couldn’t deny him. Placing your things down on the floor but he was quick to stop you before you tried to lay down. His hand on your thigh to cease your movements causing you to look down at him in confusion. ‘I have conditions, and those are that those shorts and that shirt need to come off’ he told you quietly. Fingers dancing over the backs of your legs as he teased you but you figured two could play at that game.
‘You wish is my command’ you laughed, stepping back and away from him so you could remove the open shirt off your arms before unbuttoning your shorts and pulling them down your legs so you were just left in your white bikini. ‘That better?’
‘Perfect’ he smiled, his tongue darting out of his mouth as he looked you up and down before helping you back onto the lounger. He wasn’t sat down for long though, quickly getting up to pull the umbrella over you so you could both be out of the direct sunlight and you smiled to yourself at the thoughtful gesture. ‘I’ll try and have a think about what I want for lunch next’ he teased, laying beside you as you turned to face each other.
‘Hey Mase, why don’t I have a FaceTime time slot?’
‘What are you on about?’
‘Kayla told me you and Woody facetime every Tuesday at 8 and I bet Dec and Ben have a slot. Where’s mine?’ You teased, watching his face hide in the pillow as he laughed before facing you again with a wide smile.
‘I can add you to the rota. I’ll have my receptionist send over my availability’ he teased but you just rolled your eyes before turning onto your back.
‘Very funny’ you huffed, shutting your eyes as you could feel them becoming heavy but the feeling of Mason's pinkie linking yours made your heart thud and when you opened an eye to look at him he was still on his side but his eyes were shut.
You woke up a little while later pressed up against something warm but soft. Opening your eyes to find yourself laying on Mason's chest with your arm across his waist whilst he rested his hand on your back, dangerously close to your bum.
‘You make sure you’re behaving, Mason’ you whispered, noticing he wasn’t fully asleep and the little chuckle that fell from his lips let you know he’d heard you.
‘I always am’ he smiled. Pressing a light kiss to your forehead as his fingers danced just above the waistline of your bikini bottoms. ‘You’re not a bad sight to wake up to, Muffin’
‘Gee, thanks Mase’ you laughed, attempting to move but he didn’t let you. Holding you tighter to him as he trapped your leg in his and you knew better than to try and escape.
‘Don’t go, I’m comfy’ he breathed so you stayed where you were even though you knew it was risky but by the looks of it everyone else was asleep too so you basked in the feel of him while everyone else napped around the pool.
After you’d made Mason some lunch, you topped up his sun cream and he offered to help you with yours. Your skin tingling as his hands massaged you slightly and you had to bite your lip so you didn’t start laughing.
You and the rest of the girls went off to get dressed early, going all out tonight and the four of you were in the upstairs sitting room so you could do your makeup together before you popped downstairs to slip your outfit on. You hadn’t got dressed up like this in a while and you couldn’t wait to see Mason's reaction to your frilly lemon two piece that was showing off your tan perfectly.
The plan was to meet in the kitchen at seven so at two minutes too, you grabbed your bag and made your way out of your room. Just as you closed the door behind you, Masons opened. Standing there dressed in cargos and a baggy blue button up but his face was a picture. Eyes wide as they scanned your body fully but it was his tongue nearly falling out of his mouth that made you laugh.
‘Do I look alright?’ You asked, giving him a little twirl but the shuddery breath he let out told you all you needed to know.
‘Are you joking? I’m an actual dead man. Have your worn this just to taunt me?’’
‘No, I just thought it looked cute’
‘Well that’s one word for it’ he breathed, letting you walk in front before he gripped your hips and placed a kiss behind your ear. ‘I think yellow might be my new favourite colour’
‘Come on Mase keep your hands to yourself’ you chuckled, a tingle heading straight down your spine at the feel of his lips on your skin and you were hoping there would be more where that came from later.
‘How can I? I know what you’ve got hiding under here now’ he teased but he slowed down on the stairs so it looked like the pair of you weren’t too close.
Once you were out for dinner, Mason sat next to you again and his arm was back around your chair as you all casually chatted amongst yourselves. Laughing and joking as the boys told stories from camps and all the adventures they’d been on and you felt so full of happiness to be there with them enjoying moments like this.
You’d known it all day, but you were so thankful for Mason and his kindness. You knew you wouldn’t be here without him and you were having the best time so when you caught his eye and he sent you a wink, you had to hold yourself to your seat so you didn’t lean over and kiss him.
The club you were all going to wasn’t far and all the girls led the way with the boys trailing behind and it’s like you could feel Mason's eyes on your bum. Feeling his hand on your shoulder as you neared the entrance so he could lead the way in and over to your reserved table.
Carly ordered your drinks, four pornstar martinis showing up a little while after for all the girls as well as a few bottles of some sort of spirit the boys had ordered and you made it your mission to let loose tonight. Accepting as many shots that were thrown your way, even pouring them straight into Carly’s mouth at one point until Mason cut you off for a little bit and even though you sent him a pout you knew he was just looking out for you.
You were buzzed enough to join the girls for a dance, thankfully not being touched up by any random men this time so you could finally let go. Not caring about what you looked like or who was even looking at you in the first place. Just you and your girls having the time of your lives.
You had to take a break eventually, running out of steam so you plonked on a table in your section and Mason appeared as if by magic with a glass of water ready for you.
‘You’re a lifesaver, thank you Mase’ you gasped, gulping the whole glass down as he looked at you with a funny look in his eye.
‘That’s alright, Muffin. You having a good time?’
‘I really am. Honestly thank you so much Mason, I’ll never be able to repay you or say thank you enough for letting me come here’
‘Don’t be silly. You belong here with us’ he teased, bumping his shoulder into yours playfully but you knew he was just feeling a little shy.
He sat with you for the next 15 minutes or so, talking about the boat trip tomorrow and if you were going to be okay on there. Promising if you didn’t like it he’d get you off and you could spend the day on the beach together but you let him know you’d be fine and you were excited as long as you stayed in the middle.
‘Hey Mase, come join the boys’ you suddenly heard Dec shout from not too far away but Mason just scoffed at him.
‘I’m fine here’
‘Mate come on’
‘I’ll come in a minute, I’m in the middle of a conversation’
‘Look mate I’m not gonna lie, you’re ruining my plans’ Dec told him seriously but you both looked back at him unsure as to what he meant. ‘How are we supposed to find y/n a shag when you won’t leave her alone’
‘Dec I’m not here looking for a shag thank you very much’ you laughed. ‘This trip is supposed to be about us spending time together’
‘Yeah yeah whatever, I’ve made it my mission to get you a man’
‘Dec, I don’t need your help’
‘Sure you do now come on, who’s got your eye’
‘I’m not having this conversation with you’ you laughed as Mason finally stood up.
‘I’ll take one for the team and go with him’ Mason laughed, squeezing your thigh gently but as you looked up to Dec you knew he’d seen so Mason quickly scurried away to go and sit with the other guys.
‘I’ve got my eye on you’
‘What do you mean? What have I done now?’
‘I’m not sure yet, but I’m watching you’
The girls were back soon, coming to sit with you so you could order more drinks and take silly selfies before joining the boys again. Noticing Mason was standing just off to the side on the phone and you wondered who he was speaking to before he walked back over, rolling his eyes.
‘Mase? Everything okay?’ Carly asked but he just let out a huff before speaking.
‘No the bloody security alarms going off in the villa. They’ve tried turning it off remotely but they need someone to put a code in. It’s fine it’s not loud or anything and they said it can wait but I’d feel better if I sorted it out. I’ll pop back there now it won’t take me a sec’
‘I’ll come with you, just to be safe’ you offered and even though you could see him trying to hide a smile you knew it would take some convincing.
‘You don’t have to’
‘No these shoes are killing me, I can change them while we’re there’ you replied and that seemed enough for him.
The house wasn’t far away and it was a nice night so you suggested walking, only making it two streets before your shoes became unbearable and Mason noticed straight away.
‘Shall we just get a cab?’ He laughed, pulling his phone out before you even answered but you were grateful for his suggestion. Popping yourself down on the wall next to the pavement so you take them off and the sympathetic smile he was giving you made your heart melt.
‘I’m wearing flats the rest of this week’ you huffed, looking up to find Mason taking a picture of you but he just shrugged when you raised your brow at him.
‘You look cute tonight’ he winked, popping his phone back in his pocket before taking a seat next to you and you knew you were blushing. ‘Cab shouldn’t be much longer’
‘Thanks’ you nodded, pulling your phone out and taking a picture of him unaware and when the flash made him look up you sent him a wink. ‘What? You look cute tonight’
‘Very funny’ he rolled his eyes, before holding his hand out for you to take. Pulling you flush into his side so he could wrap his arm around you. ‘Can I ask you something? About this morning?’
‘Of course, what’s up?’ You asked, unsure of what he wanted to talk about but he seemed a little shy about it.
‘Are you okay? You know after this morning when you were a bit upset? I know you said you needed a nap but I just wanted to make sure you’re fine’ he explained, your heart melting at his concern for you but you knew you’d have to be honest with him now. ‘I know I keep saying it but it really is fine if you don’t wanna carry on-‘
‘No mase, that wasn’t it’ you laughed, resting your hand on his thigh and he smiled at the gesture.
‘What was it then? You can tell me, even if it was me. I just want you to be comfortable with everything’
‘I am, I promise. I just… you said something last night and I couldn’t stop overthinking it but I realised earlier I was being silly and it’s fine. You’ve done nothing Mase, I promise’
‘What did I say?’
‘I’m gonna sound ridiculous’
‘That’s okay, you normally do but I’ve learnt to just go with it’ he joked and you playfully scoffed as he tickled your side.
‘Thanks Mase’
‘I’m kidding, please tell me’
‘Last night, you said you like to keep your customers happy. I don’t know it just felt weird being referred to as a customer of yours and I know that makes no sense but-‘
‘No, it does. Sorry I shouldn't have said that I was just trying to be funny’ he told you, rolling his eyes. ‘I’m sorry Muffin, I didn’t mean anything by it’
‘I know you didn’t, and I didn’t mean to have a strop, like I felt awful for how I spoke to you’
‘Let’s just forget about it yeah’ he laughed, placing a kiss to your forehead but wished he’d kissed somewhere else. ‘But if I say something stupid again just tell me’
‘I will’ you laughed, squeezing his thigh gently. ‘And if I have a strop again please just ignore me’
‘I’ll try. You’re pretty hard to ignore though, Muffin. Especially dressed like this’
You didn’t have time to say anything else, the taxi pulling up and you both jumped in the back seat so you could take the short journey back and before long Mason was carrying you on his back up to the door.
‘I’ll call the people, you change your shoes and we’ll head back, sound good?’
‘Yes sir’ you winked, watching his eyes nearly rolling back in his head at your words.
‘Fuck, don’t do that’ he groaned, laughing as you ran away from him before he could reach for you but the growl that left his lips gave you butterflies.
‘Behave, Mason’ you told him, trying to give him a cheeky smirk. ‘Go sort the alarm and I’ll meet you in a sec like we promised’
You were just pulling on your left shoe when Mason knocked on your open door, turning to find him leaning against the frame with a sweet smile on his face
‘Alarms off’
‘Perfect, I’m good to go now too’
‘You want me to get us a cab back?’
You didn’t have a chance to reply, your phone ringing as you walked out into the hallway to stand by him and as you took it out of your bag you saw Carly calling.
‘Hey, you alright? We’re just leaving now’
‘Yeah good, don't worry about coming back if you don’t want to. Woody is feeling a little fragile so him and Kayla are heading back and we’ll follow shortly. The boys just want to finish their drinks so give us about 40/45 minutes and we’ll be back’
‘Oh okay’ you breathed, looking up at Mason's confused face but the fact you now had some alone time made you smile, much to his confusion. ‘In that case, I think I’m gonna have a shower and head straight to bed then but I’ll see you tomorrow yeah?’
‘Yeah I think we’ll all do the same’ she replied and after a quick goodbye you popped your phone back in your bag before wrapping your arms around Mason's neck.
‘Woodys not well. He’s on the way back with Kayla but we’ve got about 40 minutes until the others get back’
‘Oh really?’ He smiled, wrapping his arms around your waist as he backed you up against the doorframe to your room. ‘You know now that we’re here, we could use this time to our advantage’
‘Oh yeah?’ You teased, running your fingers through the back of his hair as his face got dangerously close to yours. ‘You know I was thinking of taking a shower’
‘Funnily enough so was i’
‘Maybe we could share one? Save water and all that’ you offered, causing him to squeeze your sides playfully.
‘You’re a very smart woman you know’ he winked but he didn’t give you a chance to reply, kissing you with a moan as he tried to back you into your room, kicking the door shut behind him so he could press you up against it. ‘God I hate this no kissing rule. I’ve wanted to do that all day’ he confessed, whispering his words against your neck before pushing himself off of you slightly. ‘Wanted to take this off you all night too’ he mumbled, reaching for your skirt and not caring to look at how to undo it, so you pushed him off with a laugh so you could get it off without ripping it.
‘Well calm down, this was expensive’ you laughed, blushing from his words and how needed he seemed for you but you were just as needy for him too so you carefully unzipped the back and pulled it off before doing the same with the top. Thanking your lucky stars that you remembered to put one of your new underwear sets on and you could see him practically drooling at the sight of you in your strapless lacy set.
‘You’re the biggest tease I’ve ever met in my life’ he breathed, pulling you into his still fully dressed frame and as you let out a little giggle he captured your lips again in a hungry kiss. Feeling his hands dip into the top of your underwear and grip you bum tightly as you moaned into his mouth and you swore you could have stayed there kissing him forever but you didn’t want to wait any longer for him. Reaching to the collar of his shirt so you could start undoing the buttons before trailing your fingers up his body and under the shoulders so you could push it off of him. Feeling him shiver under your touch but he just pulled you closer afterwards so he could feel your warm skin on his.
You were frantic, pulling away from him so you could focus on unbuttoning his trousers but he didn’t seem to want his lips to part from you. Kissing all over your neck and shoulders as you finally pushed them down his hips and to the floor before he hugged your thighs and threw you over his shoulder so he could take you into the bathroom and you squealed as he lifted you. Holding onto him wherever you could before he popped you down and shut the door behind him. Making sure to lock it just in case someone came in on the off chance.
The pair of you quickly rid yourselves of your underwear and walked behind the glass. Giggling like kids as you took each other in your arms so you could pick up where you left off outside the bathroom before Mason broke away, fiddling with the shower panel to make it come on so you used this time to kiss over his chest. Sneakily leaving a little love bite by his nipple before you felt his fingers thread through the back of your hair so he could tug you away and his dark eyes made your knees weak as he tutted softly.
‘Thats naughty’ he whispered, lips attaching to your jaw so he could kiss along up to your ear. ‘Turn around for me’
You did as he asked, turning away from him and walking towards the shower wall as he held your back and walked with you. Propping your hands on the shower wall as he pressed you right up against it, your head turning to the side so you could just about see him over your shoulder before his lips came to your ear.
‘Good girl, that’s it’ he mumbled, placing his knee between your thighs so he could inch them apart. One hand gripping your bum and the other grabbed hold of himself so he could guide himself in. ‘You ready for me?’
‘P-please Masey’ you breathed, hearing him groan one final time before he pushed himself in gently. Knowing there wasn’t much foreplay involved so he needed to take his time but the stretch of him felt delicious. Moaning louder than you’d intended to but the slow movement of his hips were speeding up by the second until he was pounding into you. Your back pressed firmly against his front as he laid some of his weight on you whilst his hands reached round to grab your chest. Slowly kneading your flesh before you felt his teeth ever so slightly sink into your shoulder.
‘M-Mase, fuck that’s so good’ you panted, wanting to grip onto something more tangible as you fingers were slipping on the wet shower walls so you reached behind you to grab onto him and the feeling of your hand on his lower back made him plough into you even harder.
‘Arch your back for me, Muffin’ he asked, pulling your hips away from the wall and with him a step, forcing you to stick your bum even higher in the air before his hand came to hold your waist so he could control you a bit more. ‘That's it’
‘Mase’ you whimpered, this new angle hitting even better. Feeling your knees almost give out but his strong grip was holding you up as he used your body how he wished.
‘You can take it, I know you can’ he panted, the sounds of skin slapping in skin making your brain go foggy but you knew you’d never felt like this before. ‘God you feel so fucking good’
You had no idea Mason had the power to be like this with you, to be rough with his touches yet make you tingle with his praise. You wanted to be good for him, to take what he wanted to give you and make him feel good too and from the way he was moaning and groaning behind you you had a feeling he was enjoying it just as much.
You were close, closer than you wanted to be as you were enjoying this far too much and he must have felt it as he slowed down ever so slightly before pulling out of you and spinning you so your back now pressed against the tiles.
Your eyes followed his every move, letting him hook your leg over his arm so you were more easily accessible before he was pushing back into you. Your hands settling on his shoulders so you could support yourself as his free hand held your waist.
He was taking things much slower this way round. Gently rocking himself in and out of you but you weren’t sure if this pace was better or worse for you as you felt your high build once more.
‘You’re doing so good, I can feel you wanna cum though so just let go for me okay?’
‘Okay’ you whispered, letting him pick his speed up again and it didn’t take much more for you to be tipped over the edge. Moaning his name as he still went at you relentlessly until you felt his hips stutter, a string of curse words falling from his lips before he slumped against you slightly so you could both get your breath back.
‘Was I too much? I was still thinking about you calling me sir just before and I think I just went a little crazy’ he laughed in your ear, pulling out of you with a hiss so he could pull you straight into his arms and under the running water. Your heart thumping at his sweet gesture.
‘No mase, I liked it’ you laughed, holding him around his waist as he did the same to you and you couldn’t help but mirror his shy smile.
‘As long as you’re sure?’
‘Positive’ you winked before he pressed a sweet kiss to your forehead.
You didn’t spend long in there, quickly getting washed and out before meeting Mason in the main part of the bathroom where he was sitting on the closed lid of your loo. Beckoning you over to come and stand in between his legs but as soon as your hands made contact with his skin you knew something was off.
‘Mase, your shoulders look a bit pink’ you told him. His skin feeling hot to the touch and he slightly winced as you stroked his skin.
‘Yeah they feel a little weird I think I’m a bit burnt’
‘Stay there, I’ll put some after sun on for you’ you told him. Reaching for the bottle on the side so you could apply it but you felt bad as soon as he flinched when the cold cream hit his skin so you rubbed it in as soon as possible. Feeling his muscles relax under your fingers as you massaged him slightly before he looked up at you with his big brown eyes.
‘What’s all that stuff up there?’ He asked, nodding to the shelf under your mirror and you smiled when you caught onto what he was referring to.
‘My skincare’
‘Why do you have so much?’
‘We weren’t all blessed with clear and baby soft skin like you unfortunately’ you teased, tapping the end of his nose lightly which caused him to blush. ‘Would you like to try some?’
‘Okay’ he whispered, watching you with curious eyes as you applied various creams and serums to his face. His hands holding the backs of your legs the whole time and when you were done you pressed a light kiss to the end of his nose without even thinking.
‘All done’ you smiled, taking a step back to you could reach for the after sun and start to apply it to yourself but he took it from your hand and stood behind you. Massaging it into your shoulders as you caught eyes in the mirror in front of you.
‘Do you think we need to tone it down a bit?’ You asked, picking up your cleanser so you could start on your own skincare. ‘I don’t want anyone to suspect anything and I’m pretty sure Dec’s picking up on some vibes’
‘I’ll tell him to back off, don’t worry’ he laughed, hands smoothing over your skin still even though the after sun was all rubbed in. ‘Plus if we go too far the other way they’ll be suspicious too’
‘I guess you’re right’ you shrugged, Turing in his arms after applying the last of your moisturiser before covering your face with your hands so he didn't see you yawn.
‘Aww is my little Muffin sleepy’ he teased
‘It’s been a long day’ you defended with a light laugh so hand in hand he walked you to your bedroom door and with a quick kiss to your forehead he walked across the hallway to his room opposite.
‘Oh wait’ he suddenly called, just over the threshold of his room and by the time you looked up he’d removed the towel from his body and was standing there completely naked. ‘You can have this back’ he laughed, throwing it in your direction and thankfully it landed on your head so you couldn’t see him anymore but you heard the door click and the sounds of his muffled laughter ringing through the halls.

Experiment 56 masterlist | Experiment 56 sequel Masterlist
Note: Omg thank you all for liking the first part, I did not know that all of you would be so interested. Well, well, here I leave the second part, I still don't know how many parts this series has, it all depends on how you react. This part is a little sad, but you will like the ending. From now on I warn you that I am not very expert in this Navi culture, but I did my best. And I'll be using events that happened in the movie, but they won't be exactly the same. And sorry for the spelling. English is not my mother tongue.
Tumblr media
"Good morning general ardmore, I request my presence?"." Good morning colonel quaritch, and yes I need you very urgently." Miles took a seat at the table, and gave his full attention to General Ardmore's words. "I have a mission for you, I know you are in search of jake sully, but if I tell you that there is something more precious than the head of a simple soldier who decided to be tarzan?" Miles settled back in his seat," You have to tell me what is more precious?". "Twenty years ago, pandora's team of scientists began a series of experiments. Their goal was to achieve a perfect blend of human and navi. We were tired of transferring our sud quotient into avatar bodies. We wanted to be real. There were many failures, but I understand there was one specimen that survived." Miles was trying to analyze the information, "You're telling me there's a mutant out there? What does he look like?". General Ardmore scales up her touch screen in the air and shows him some models, "She. She's a girl, we estimate her to be in her early 20s. But she is the first of her species. She possesses a human body, but the ability to breathe pandora's air and most importantly her queue."
" A new specie?" miles was a bit in a state of shook, how come he didn't know about this when he still had his human body. "You know so little miles, there are many things that even you and I don't know about. The agency has plans and that girl is the key. She is the center. And the only thing I know, is that when she was a baby she was adopted by sully. "That doesn't surprise me…" a little smirk tugged at Miles' lips." Just find her, bring her back alive. I don't want her to have any bumps. In perfect condition. In addition… you'll find Jake sully. You kill two birds with one shot," said General Ardmore, as she passed him the information on the last location. "Expect nothing less." Miles stood up from his chair, ready to leave home with his group.
And here you are… on the floor. Crying and being held at gunpoint, while your family was also screaming to be released. "ok ok, SHUT UP EVERYONE!!!" shouted miles, as he searched for the beast that had described to him earlier. But their eyes widened, when they saw you. You were beautiful, long hair, beautiful eyes, and your skin was adorned with moles. and yes, just as General Ardmore said, you had the distinguished queue of the navis. Quaritch knelt down in front of you "I had not been told how beautiful you were. Wow…" This was a trigger for neteyam.
Neteyam was right next to you, on the floor. While his head was being pushed to the floor. But when he heard quaritch words, his blood boiled. "Don't you dare touch her!!!!" Neteyam shouted as he tried to attack Quaritch. The man hit him in the head.
"no, please!!! enough!!!!!!!" you scream in fear you don't know what's going on. But you didn't want your family to get hurt. Least of all neteyam. Spider, loak, tuk, kiri and neteyam were tied to a branch. While you were placed in front of them on another branch. "tuk, calm down…. Mother will come for us" says kiri trying to comfort her younger sister. And she was quite right.
Neytiri and Jake had already arrived at the lab area, just a few minutes before you all had run off. Jake knew something was wrong. They entered the forest carefully and that's when Neytiri heard her children's screams. Or not, this was not good. One thing was for sure, you could bother neytiri all you wanted, but don't mess with her kids. She ran off to the spot where she heard the screams, while Jake followed her. When they arrived they hid.
"We have to save them!!!" murmured neytiri to Jake "love, we have to be careful. Let's wait for the exact moment." While neytiri and jake watched the situation from a distance, but the view was not very clear. Quaritch moved a little away from the group of soldiers, so he could call the ship. He needed to get you out of here. At that one of the soldiers began to look at you more than usual.
You were wearing traditional Navi women's clothing. And we all know that these soldiers were not used to seeing women. Neteyam noticed this "stop looking at her you bastard" the man looked at neteyam and approached you. " or what are you going to do?" the soldier started to lift your top "don't you dare…leave me" you were desperate. But this didn't stop him, he took his blade and cut your top, so that your breasts were exposed. Neytiri saw the scene, and if it wasn't for jake grabbing her by the arm and telling her to approach calmly. She would have slit that man's throat. Kiri was screaming, spider is asking her to stop and loak was crying. The scene they were witnessing was horrible. Neteyam is screaming, showing his fangs, pulling so hard on the bindings he had, he was about to dislocate his arm. No one was going to touch you, much less like this.
Quaritch showed up and pushed the soldier to the ground "WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING!!!!" He yells, as you try to roll into a ball. You felt exposed. Neytiri had teached you to take care of yourself and that no one should touch you without your permission. You didn't understand why that man was treating you like that. "Come on Colonel, we can have some fun with this creature…don't tell me you don't see her beautiful." That was the last straw. Jake fired, and neytiri came out of hiding to use his arrow. It was a strong encounter, but when Jake managed to free Neteyam, he ran to you. He cut the bindings, grabbed you off the ground and ran off.
"run and don't look back" order neytiri as she continued fighting the soldiers. You all kept running, jake and neytiri were right behind you. Once you all made it deeper into the forest, it became difficult for the soldiers to keep up. At that moment, the quaritch team's ship arrived. All the soldiers got on, but there was a warning "Sully …. I'm going to find her, you won't be able to hide her for long." The hairs on the back of Jake's neck stood up, as he was hiding with his family. He looked back, and watched as you were hiding in neteyam chest. You had no clothes on, and your arms and legs had been injured. His heart broke into a thousand pieces.
"Let's go home," Neytiri said, as everyone walked in silence and fear. Neteyam was holding you in her arms, tears were coming down from her eyes. Only images of what those men would have done to you if they had captured you were running through his head. Arriving at the refuge, Neytiri took you from Neteyam arms and went to the hut where her mother Mo'at was. Kiri and tuk followed her, everyone was silent. Jake just looked at the boys, his look was one of anger and sadness.
Neytiri healed and took care of you. She saw how tears came out of your eyes. She knew she could not ease the pain you felt. You had been treated like an animal, you were hurt. "I'm so sorry my dear, I'm sorry" says neytiri as she bandages your wounds and strokes your hair. Kiri and tuk are by her side, comforting you. They shared your pain, they saw everything.
Neteyam was outside the mo'at hut, along with spider and loak. "See!!! I told you it was dangerous to be there!!!" said neteyam as he faced his brother. " Hey, I didn't force you guys to follow me, plus I had no idea this was going to happen!!!" loak tried to defend himself, but neteyam is furious. "Of course not, you never know anything. You risk everyone without thinking about the consequences. Look what they did to y/n. They almost…" "that's enough… we know." Spider interrupted neteyam. "guys calm down, I know what happened was horrible. But we're okay now." Neteyam looked back at spider, oh god… the anger in his eyes was horrible "you… don't go near y/n again, I want you away from her." He looks up and looks at his younger brother "and the same goes for you" Neteyam walked out towards the family hut.
Loak was silent at spider's side. Loak knew his brother was rationing his emotions, he knew how special you were to him. He knew he could ignore what he said, since you and Loak were best friends. But what he said to spider was serious. Neteyam liked spider, but he didn't like your relationship with him. Neteyam had a plan to take you as his mate, but once he heard how norm and Jake said that you and spider would make a good couple. And he wasn't sure if his mother would accept this. Neytiri loved you, but as her daughter. How would she react to telling her he loved you.
It was already evening, Jake entered the family hut. He found Neytiri cooking, you were lying on her chest, sitting on her lap. You were small, so Neytiri had no problem doing her chores with you on top of her. You were of adult age, but to Neytiri you were her precious child. Neteyam was at her mother's side helping her. Jake came over and stroked your head, you were asleep. "She's hurt," said Neytiri. "I know, it was something…" jake paused. "we have to get her out of here, her and our family". Neytiri looked at jake in surprise. "no, you're crazy… here is their home. They grew up here, you are toruk makto" neytiri is trying not to scream, but she was getting flustered." But what's the use of being toruk makto, if those bastards want my family "Jake sits next to neytiri. "but jake where will we go?". Jake looked at neteyam, who was still there, right next to his mother." We'll find a place, we'll be fine. If we stick together everything will be fine."
It was already late and everyone was resting. Neteyam got up from his side, and lay down next to the front of you, he is inches away from your face. He loved how small you looked compared to him. Shit she has me under a spell, he said to himself. As he traces circles on your shoulder. Little did they know, this was his favorite time. Where you could be together, if only in silence. You opened your eyes and saw neteyam, he had a small smile plastered on his face, as he came up to kiss you on the lips. Everything was so quiet and with carefulness. They didn't want anyone to get up and see you guys. You laughed a little, you were still in low spirits. But knowing that neteyam was by your side, calmed your heart. "I'm so sorry ma y/n" neteyam spoke, as his fingers played on your waist, down to your leg. "Don't be like that…you were there. You took care of me ma neteyam" you placed your hand on his cheek. Neteyam relaxes and moves closer to you, as his tail wraps around your leg. You felt his breath on your face, they were so close. "someday… someday" said neteyam "yes, someday", you told him as you gave him another kiss on his lips. Someday you will be able to unite before eywa. But still not the time.
In the morning, tuk woke up earlier than the others, she turned to her left side to look for her older brother. Not seeing him, tuk took a seat and saw how his brother was lying right next to yours. Very close, very warm. She giggled a little and picked up Kiri, "What do you want? It's too early" kiri was trying to get up while wiping his eyes. "Look at that!!!" tuk pointed to the romantic scene between you and neteyam. "aha I knew it… spider owes me lunch." Tuk laughed a little and kiri got up to wake up her older brother, she knew this was secret. so they couldn't let their parents get up and see the romantic scene.
"hey get up!!!" kiri said as she moved her brother, neteyam got up startled. "i…this…is not what it looks like. Y/n had" kiri put his hand on his brother's mouth "shhhh your secret is safe with me" kiri said as he laughed a little. "That scares me."
"Hey!!!!" kiri and neteyam started to play, making you stand up. "hey, you two can shut up." Neteyam laid on top of you and gave you a kiss, while kiri made a disgusted face. The moment was interrupted when Jake started to get up. Everyone straightened up and acted natural or so they thought.
"family, everyone upstairs we need to talk." Jake said as everyone settled down. "What I'm going to say is something important and I want you all ready in 10 minutes." Said Jake stretching, knowing that the decision he was about to make was going to change his whole life.

Crimes Against Punctuality
Tumblr media
Request: Hi! I'm in loooooove with your writing and I saw that you have your request open soooooo can I ask for “Going out to dinner with your bias group and it is growing increasingly obvious that someone at the table has a crush. “ with Suga 😍💕 pls😭🫶
Prompt:
16) Going out to dinner with your bias group and it is growing increasingly obvious that someone at the table has a crush.
Pairing: BTS Suga x Reader
Genre: Fluff
.
If there was one constant in your world, it was this: when it came to dinner with your friends, you were never late.
Had you often arrived after nearly everyone else? Yes. Did that include technically running at least thirty minutes late on more than one occasion? Also, yes.
But out of the eight of you, there was always someone who was later, therefore absolving you of your offenses.
Sprinting toward the restaurant, you quietly cursed to yourself. Even though they got more than enough crap for it normally, you hoped that tonight, Jimin or Jungkook were running late. If they were already there when you walked through the door, you wouldn't hear the end of it. You needed one of them (or both, you weren't picky) to be the martyr just this once.
Taking the steps two at a time toward the front door of the establishment, you groaned as you flopped against the glass. Pushing at what was an evident pull, you took a step backwards before advancing again.
"It'll be fine," you muttered to yourself. "They get so wrapped up in each other, they won't even notice I'm missing."
Coming to a halt in front of the hostess stand, you opened your mouth, only to be silenced by screams coming from the back of the room.
"I'm guessing you're with them?" the hostess asked, lifting a brow.
Looking over her shoulder, you could clearly see where all seven men had already been seated, and were now zeroing in on you.
"I guess," you agreed, slumping your posture as you walked slowly toward them.
"Y/N!" "You're late." "Did you know you're late?!" "Jimin got here fifteen minutes ago and you couldn't even-" "I took two showers today and still-"
"I ordered you a lemonade."
Looking up as you slid onto the bench seat next to Yoongi, you let out a short chuckle. "Wouldn't have been my first choice."
"I know," he smirked. " It's punishment for your crimes against punctuality."
"How mildly inconvenient," you sighed, picking up your menu. "How is everyone?"
"Starving." "Withering away to nothing." "I have this suspicious mole on my elbow, can anyone-"
"Not all at once," you laughed. Side eying the man next to you, you elbowed him in the side. "What about you?"
"What about me?" he asked calmly, looking to his menu as well.
"How are you?" you repeated.
"Peachy," he grumbled, now glancing your way. "How are you?"
"Tired," you nodded. "Things are just a lot, but you know that all too well."
"What had you late this time?" he questioned, looking away quickly again.
You narrowed your eyes. Sure, Yoongi was odd in a generic way, but something else was going on with him tonight. His vibe was heavier somehow, more guarded.
"Work was a disaster," you explained. "Have you had the bibimbap here before?"
"Namjoon said you had a date."
Choking on what could only be air, you whipped your attention back toward him. "What?"
"With that new guy at your office." He refused to look at you now, but you noticed the tips of his ears were burning a bright crimson.
"Min Yoongi," you gasped. "I never took you for a gossip."
"It's hardly gossip if you told Namjoon," he muttered, flipping the menu over.
Setting your glare on Namjoon, you cleared your throat. Like prey that had been spotted by its predator, he slowly turned toward you with wide eyes. "Can I help you?"
"Who told you I had a date with my coworker?" you asked innocently. "Because I surely did not."
Swallowing loudly, a timid smile crossed his face. "Hobi?"
"Hoseok?" you hummed, swiveling your head to the newest rumor mill.
"I just, when I-" he began to stutter, looking at the members around him for help. "We got lunch the other day and you took a really long time "finishing up" with him!"
Your draw dropped. "What did you think finishing up meant, Hobi?!"
"I mean...I know what it means to Tae-"
"Hey," Taehyung's deep voice hissed. "Leave me out of this."
"Why does it matter anyway!" Hoseok shouted in his Hoseok way. "It's not like you have to answer to any of us!"
Lifting a brow, you turned back to Yoongi. He blinked back at you, his expression remaining blank. "Is the sun in your eyes? I feel like the sun is in my eyes."
You tilted your head, completely at a loss. Out of the seven men sitting around you, Yoongi had always been a bit of enigma. You liked him just as well as you liked your other friends, but it seemed like he was always just slightly withdrawn with you. He was brilliant, sarcastic, and easily one of your favorite people to talk to, but just when you thought you had overcome a barrier with him, he retreated again.
Tonight was even worse than normal.
"Jin, switch seats with me," Yoongi croaked, backing out of the bench seating. Trapped between you and Tae, there was no other way to escape.
Jin looked up with lifted brows, his cheeks packed with what appeared to be kimchi. "Me?"
"Yes, you," Yoongi confirmed, lingering awkwardly behind you now. "The sun is in my eyes over here. You're taller so it won't bother you."
Furrowing your brows, you realized that Jin was in the furthest seat away from you. A sour feeling swept through your stomach as you looked toward the window across from your table instead. "I'm sure they'll close the blinds if we ask-"
"I'll switch with you," Jungkook said cheerfully, sliding off of the bench and circling the table. He had been seated directly across from you.
"No, no, no," Yoongi said quickly. "The sun will bother you just as much."
"Jin isn't that much taller-"
"Listen to your hyung!" Yoongi groaned. "Jin-"
"I'm not moving," the other boy said stiffly, crunching on his food.
Yoongi inhaled deeply before looking up to Jungkook. "Fine," he said quietly, trying to save face. "I hope you like not being able to see."
"It's really no problem," Jungkook giggled, making his way toward you again. Shouldering himself in, he plopped down onto the bench with a content sigh. "So tell me about this date, Y/N."
"There was no date!" you huffed. "Hobi is just dramatic."
"Shocker," you could hear Jimin chuckle from the opposite side of Taehyung.
Directing your attention back to Yoongi as he settled in across from you, you couldn't help but lean forward. "Are you feeling okay?"
"Why?" Yoongi countered, not bothering to give you a real answer.
"You're acting really weird," you said quietly, trying to keep the exchange to yourselves as the other members fell back into a normal cadence of conversation.
"Surely I don't know what you mean," he sniffed, still refusing to look directly at you. It was hard not to notice that the blush that had previously painted his ears was now clouding across his face.
"Are you mad at me?" you tried again. "For making a big deal about the date comment?"
"I don't care who you date, Y/N."
"I didn't say you did, I just-"
Springing up from his chair, the table grew quiet as Yoongi hovered in place. "I, uh, I need to use the restroom."
Turning on his heel, instead of heading to where the actual bathrooms were, he exited onto the back patio of the restaurant.
"Did anyone ask?" Hobi marveled, glancing around the table.
"Joon," you sighed, setting your elbows on the table so you could drop your chin into your palm. "What is going on?"
"What do you mean?" Oh, so now it was his turn to be evasive.
"Don't act like you don't know everything," you muttered. "Now why is Yoongi acting like I have a disease?"
Glancing from one end of the table to the other to confirm that Yoongi was indeed not there, Namjoon whispered. "Have you considered that maybe, he brought up the "date" for a reason?"
"Yes," you nodded. "Because you all are worse than a group of middle aged women when it comes to circulating rumors."
"Well...yes," he said slowly. "But are there any other reasons you can think of?"
You hadn't really wanted to examine his question too closely because you knew what result it would yield. "You don't mean..."
Shrugging, he took a sip of his drink. "Just a thought."
Yoongi could not be jealous. You had assumed that he was just a peace with dying alone because there was never a partner to be seen. Of course, he could have been careful about his privacy, but you knew one of the guys would have found out and spilled the beans. He had no interest in dating, so why would that change for you? Could you have been that wrong?
You supposed it was time to find out.
"I guess I have to use the "bathroom" too," you grumbled, pulling yourself to your feet.
"Are we in an airport?" Jin complained. "We do not need to know about these departures."
Rolling your eyes, you slinked off to the door leading to the seating area in the back of the establishment. Peering out of the glass paned door, you saw Yoongi leaning on the edge of a picnic table, his back facing you and face tilted toward the sky.
Making sure you pulled instead of pushing the door this time, you shuffled out of the building. Uncertain of what to do, you decided to take a seat on the picnic tabletop next to him. After a few minutes of silence, he cleared his throat.
"I'm an idiot."
"Sure," you nodded. "But is there a specific reason?"
"Nope," he sighed. "Just a self-assessment."
"Yoongi," you said, exasperated. Simply saying his name was enough to have him finally look toward you.
"You figured it out, right?" he asked, lifting his brows.
"After talking to Namjoon, yeah," you admitted. "I think I may have known before that though."
The two of you lapsed into silence again. This was all new territory with Yoongi. You knew him better than a lot of people but were still missing out on so much. He kept impenetrable walls around himself, but did this mean that he was finally giving you a key?
Holding your breath, you looked down to find Yoongi's hand leaned on the table between the two of you. You began to move your own fingers slowly toward his, not stopping until they had become intertwined.
There was another moment of silence as you allowed yourself to decompress. You had done it, and he hadn't pulled away. Baby steps were still steps.
Yoongi let out a deep sigh. Closing his eyes, the corner of his lips hitched up ever so slightly. "It feels like a relief."
"What does?"
"You finding me," he said quietly.
The moment was so fragile, you were scared that breathing wrong would cause it to break. "You didn't get very far."
"No," he chuckled. "Not out here."
"Oh," you chirped, suddenly getting his meaning. "I - I don't know if I've found you yet, Yoongi. I need you to help me...if you want to."
"I want to," he said without missing a beat. "I'm not the most open person, Y/N. I can't be like Hobi or Tae. I can't just broadcast my emotions and every thought that crosses my mind."
"You can't?" you asked sarcastically. "And here I thought it was your heart stitched on your sleeve!"
This caused him to smile again. "I know I can be cold and closed off, but I don't want to be that way with you. Not anymore."
"What changed?"
Maybe it was the wrong thing to say. You fell into silence yet again but after a moment, realized that it just meant Yoongi was carefully choosing his words. "Me, I think."
"How so?"
"I never wanted to be with anyone," Yoongi said quietly, confirming your earlier thoughts. "It's just easier being alone...but then, you showed up with Jimin one night. I was hesitant to even make friends because it's a lot of upkeep, you know? Being social and caring about another person is such an investment and it can be so painful...but then I got to know you. It was almost as if I felt my heart change in real time."
"Because of our friendship?"
"Because of you," he corrected. "And against my better judgement, I dared to hope that we could be something if you decided to take a chance on me."
"Well, it sounds like you took one on me," you hummed. "It seems only fair that I do the same."
This time when Yoongi turned to look at you, he really looked at you. "Do you mean that?"
"Very much so," you grinned. "Be careful about letting me in, Yoongi. I may never want to leave."
"What if I don't want you to?"
His words were a whisper, and his eyes were looking so intently into yours. You felt like you would melt on the spot.
"Then I won't."

CARTEL PROTECTION
Pairing: Simon "Ghost" Riley x f!Reader, John "Soap" MacTavish x f!Reader, Alejandro Vargas x f!Reader (unrequited but also kind of requited, it's complicated) Rating: All Ages Word Count: 1.3k Warnings: None Author's Notes: The first chapter in a series that I will likely not get to, but it's fun and I thought y'all might enjoy it. Who knows, if there's enough interest I might write a connected fic or two rather than a whole thing. I hope y'all can excuse how very rough this is, because it is literally the very first draft.
Tumblr media
The tarmac of Los Vaqueros Cuartel General is hard and hot beneath the soles of your boots, bouncing the heat of the Mexican sun back upwards toward its origin, and as you approach the truckside powwow you can feel a fine sheen of perspiration beginning to form on your bare arms. It’s hot, far too hot for late October, and you don’t imagine yourself not sweating for however long this operation is going to take.
“I need you in Las Almas,” Laswell had said over the phone, intruding on an appointment with your manicurist. “Something is going on, and I don’t have enough information.”
“Sure,” you’d replied, regarding the woman opposite you trying to hide the fact that she was listening in. The nail tech wasn’t a plant, you were reasonably certain, but only an amateur talked freely about your kind of work. “I’d love to see Alejo and his kids again.”
You put two fingers (nails painted with tiny sugar skulls) to your tongue and cab-whistle at the group of three men to catch their attention. None of them flinch, and as they all turn to look at you, you realize immediately that this job is going to be more bothersome than you’d assumed, because the skull-plated mask that turns your way is not, as it were, a new face.
You remember the iron smell of staunched blood and the full brunt of his weight driving the both of you to the ground as you’d tried to hold him up. You remember the drench of warm Kastovian rain and hydroplaning in a stolen truck across the border into Georgia. You remember watching three hours of surgery. You had not stayed to see the fourth.
It shows immediately in his eyes as you meet them. The man you only know as Ghost remembers too.
You are not in the business of dragging baggage around. “Colonel Vargas!” you call, waving.
“Alma!” Alejandro exclaims, a wide smile breaking the severe lines of his angular face. “Laswell said you were coming, but I didn’t expect you so soon!”
As you join the men, you let him hug you, unable to keep from grinning at his easy affection. Alejandro—Alejo to you—is another familiar face.
You remember reheated mole verde on rice in the General kitchen, tiny sips of mezcal as he waxed poetic about what he could do with the full stock he kept in the larders of his fabled ranch. He’d looked at you warmly then, as warmly as he looks at you now when you release your embrace.
You hold his warmth precious, but do not respond to it.
“Someone has to be the brains of this operation,” you say, and wave to Rudy in the truck.
“It’s Alma, then?” asks the soldier standing next to Ghost, in a brogue that stands out as much as Ghost does.
John “Soap” MacTavish is the only personage you do not know. Laswell had given you a very sparse brief before you’d headed toward Mexico, so you already know that he’s both effective in the field and resolutely Scottish, but it only takes you one glance to get a notion of his character. The mohawk says more about him than he probably could ever say about himself, and the stunning blue eyes tell you the rest.
You glance at Ghost. Laswell had told you about Soap, and said you knew everyone else. Damn her. She isn’t getting a Christmas card this year.
“Sometimes,” you answer the Scot, looking back at him. Alma, of course, is not your real name.
Ghost snorts. He doesn’t say anything, but you know what he’s thinking.
So you say it out loud, smiling at the sergeant congenially. “Sometimes it’s Katya. Sometimes it’s something else. Maybe I’d be Mary, if we were in Glasgow.”
He smiles back immediately. Oh yes, Soap MacTavish is a dangerously open book. “Queen of Scots, aye? I see how it is.”
“CIA shit,” grumbles Ghost. Then, to business, “Where’s Hassan?”
-
Las Almas is as beautiful as you remember it, colorful and lively as the Fuerzas Especiales convoy passes from the countryside into the city’s sprawling outskirts.
“So how do you know Alejandro?” Soap asks, looking at you over his shoulder. He’d volunteered to take the furthermost seat in the back, which was really more of a padded bench facing out the window, in order to give you the more comfortable chair.
You meet his gaze. The SAS needed to hang a warning sign on him—DO NOT MAKE EYE CONTACT—because close up, the jewel-bright azure is even more arresting than it had been at a distance.
“I met him on vacation,” you reply, lifting one brow and hopefully hiding the little jolt in your breath that the proximity inspired.
Rudy and Alejandro both laugh at that. You chance a peek at Ghost, who’s sitting beside you in the back row of the SUV, and find him looking resolutely forward. You’re not sure if that’s good or bad.
“Anyone who comes to Las Almas for vacation is either too stupid to live past the first day,” says Rudy, eyes crinkling as they meet yours in the rear view mirror, “or just crazy enough to have a good time.”
You smile back—it wasn’t the first time he’d said that about you.
“In truth, we’ve ended up helping each other a few times, haven’t we?” says Alejo. “The US is always worried about narcos crossing the border, and Fuerzas Especiales is always in need of good intelligence.”
It had been your impeccable Spanish that had convinced Kate to stick you across the border. Her superiors had been doing their augury, reading the bird formations in the sky and sifting through the proverbial entrails, and had decided via these machinations that rather than let you monitor Verdansk post-Armistice as you’d originally been tasked (your Russian is also impeccable), you should instead worry about cartels on the Texas border.
You sneak a glance at Ghost again. He’s looking at you this time, eyes narrowed.
The reassignment had come to you at the third hour.
“Hopefully ‘Alma’ can help again, then,” he says, and it is very strange to hear that name on his tongue, to hear the syllables bend around the brassy, rumbling Manc that had comfortably used another name for you entirely.
Verdansk. A hollow shell of a building, its veins somehow still pumping water and electricity. His mask, pulled up over his nose, revealing a hard line of a mouth as he sipped bitter black coffee, the corners twisting as he was unable to hide how much he hated it.
“You should be burned for this by itself, Katya,” he’d grumbled.
“You do groceries next time,” you’d replied pleasantly. “See if the shelves magically fill with boxes of Tetley when you’re there.”
“Fuck Tetley. Even this swill is better than that.”
He still drank the whole cup.
“Think I prefer Mary,” says Soap, settling against your seat back.
The brogue brings you out of the memory and back into the present. Verdansk is half a world away. So is the Ghost you’d playacted domesticity with. You needed to make room in your head for missiles, rogue Quds Force majors, and enterprising narcos. The job had no care for anything else.
“And that’s why I’d choose it,” you say, mimicking his posture and sitting back. The Scot has no place in any of your memories, not in Kastovia and not in Las Almas—and you’re thankful, in that moment, that he’s there. “People are willing to do things for someone that sounds like one of their own.”
You hear the smile in his voice as he responds, “Can’t think of a man who wouldn’t do anything for you, bonnie—”
“Alright, sergeant!” Ghost snaps.
The reprimand surprises you both, and you lapse into awkward, contrite silence. Alejo meets your eyes in the rear view, concerned, and you give them an exaggerated roll.
The need to ground yourself notwithstanding, it was a bad idea—and, you think, massively trashy—to flirt right in front of him.
You slouch in your chair. Laswell is getting coal for Christmas. The grossest, sootiest stuff you can find.

First things first, I'm gonna need Gen V to never fucking do that again. How dare they release such a good episode and only have it be 34 minutes??? Is it a fucking sitcom??? They do that again and we WILL have problems.
Now, Cate. I done told y'all she was the mole and now look. I mean do I still love her? Absolutely. Do I think she is a victim of Dean Shetty's manipulations? 100%. Do I believe she thought she was protecting her friends? Yup. But do I also think Andre was right somewhat in what he said? Yeah, kinda do. Listen, with all the good intentions in the world the fact that she repeatedly made Luke forget about his baby brother when she knew the type of turmoil it was causing in him is twisted. The same way she was going to confess to Andre before the text came is the same way she should have confessed to Luke. Granted I think the reason she was even going to confess to Andre was because of how wrong things were going. But still, she ain't right for that..
So, I see three possible avenues they might take with her: first, kill her off at the end of the season in order to redeem herself to her friends; second, she could become an antagonist to the group (tho this is less likely); or third, she may act as a double agent and spy back on shetty so they can find out what's really going on..
Jordan Li. My beloved. My baby boy/baby girl. I can understand why they thought Marie couldn't accept both sides of them and I'm so glad they explored a bit more into their character's history. But baby, Marie wants to love on you no matter what your gender so just let her!!! At least they got to a point where they realised they were being unfair to Marie over the whole situation though, so hopefully episode 6 will have them talking about it properly. Alsooooo, Jordan getting pissed when Marie's brain was tampered with again? Good fucking food. Jordan moving closer to Marie at Cate's reveal? I was eating that shit upppp. Jordan this whole episode was kinda unhinged and you know what? I wanna see more, please and thank you!!!
Alsoooo, can we talk real quick about Jordan's conversation with Andre and Cate because I cannot have been the only one who was straight dyingggg through it. "is it a black thing?" "...oh my God!!!". The way Jordan didnt even dismiss the fact that him and Marie made a good couple too. Likeeeee. C'monnnnn.
Marie, my sweet girl. Once she finds out the true extent of her powers its over for everyoneeeee; she's gonna fuck everyone up and I personally will be cheering her on at the sidelines!! Slightly worried though because 1) who is her benefactor?? and 2) what if they are able to capture her somehow??? She is yet to go unhinged and I would like to see it, especially if it's in relation to something happening to Jordan.
Emma and Sam. I mean you know its real when one half of the pairing's mind has been wiped and still there is an undeniable connection between them. The fact that Sam went out of his way to find Emma after all the shit that went down??? Ooof, I'm living for itttt. The fact that even though Emma hadn't gotten back her memories she still believed him? Don't make me cryyyyy. I loved how Emma realised how wrong her mother was about her "getting big" & how she's beginning to carve out who she wants to be for herself. Also, her and Marie's friendship is honestly just goals.
Also, lowkey everyone should have just let Sam kill that Dr Cardosa because he's gonna bring big problemssss I fear, and on that note they should have him kill Dean Shetty too because ole girl needs to skedaddle her way out (although the person who takes her place could be even worse, so idk about that yet)
Also, someone please give Andre a hug that boy needs it. Seeing him unhinged tho?? Ooofffffff 10/10.

As someone who watched the show as a kid and then again a few years ago I don't understand when people say Toph isn't feminine at all. Toph likes girly things. She does. Saying she doesn'tdoesn't not erase the fact that she canonically does like girly things.
She didn't hate wearing a dress or makeup when her and Katara spent their day together. The only thing she hated was that she was laughed at. Toph likes boys. Toph wants to be pretty. She just also likes being herself. Also, I think people forget that her upbringing is very juxtaposed like her personality.
She grew up wearing dresses and playing in mud both, only one of those things she was probably told off for. I think, now she's with the gaang, she prefers being comfortable than keeping up appearances. Her lack of shoes is a practicality issue, she can't see if she's not barefoot. she's comfortable in mud because she's an earth bender and she probably slept with the badger moles in a lot of the contraptions she makes herself to sleep in on the series. That being said her clothes are actually more reminiscent of Kataras than Aang or Sokkas. She wears her outer robe (the long green and pale outerwear) long like Katara rather than short like Sokka or even Zuko. She has a headpiece like Suki. She wears feminine clothes and, I don't know, it's just kind of frustrating when a lot of people try and push Toph in this heavily masculine box when she's actually a very feminine figure.

avanine truthers come to the front of the class
ummm GUYS
okay first of all - ava popping up on janine at work is SO cute! they kinda framed it like this was ava's first visit to janine's office at the district but there's noo way she's been there for five months and this is the first time. like i'm imagining janine there late one night that first week tidying up her office and ava stops by with food like "i knew you'd still be here"
janine being ava's mole in the district office is absolutely coming back around this season and i look forward to that with delight and glee
"i'm more important than whatever you're doing for Jacob" ummm need i say more???
side note: ava in this purple like be still my beating heart
ava immediately being like "that doesn't sound like janine i think the fuck not" and springing into action when she hears that she's struggling really shows how far they've come. season one she would've made some joke about her but now she's like - the girl who never gives up is giving up??? NOT ON MY WATCH. immediately yes and i need more.
this was not directly avanine content but ava going "well, gregory? is no?" was absolutely about janine and i won't be told otherwise lol
"I don't need to schedule a meeting to see my girl" it was right there i'm just sayingg
the way janine's chin, face, and whole body lifted up when ava said they were friends is replaying in my head on a loop!!! and so is the way ava lets that slip and sees her reaction nd immediately draws back just a tad like PLEASE. they love each other and that's all
also love that ava can't resist throwing out that bit about tariq on her way out and then teasing her about him later. she's such a menace and i really love her for that

Legally Brunette
For @intothedysphoria, Happy birthday!! Have a frat boy Stevie! Sorry for the slight villainizing of Jonathan, one does what one can.
Tumblr media
He had freckles. No. Moles. Scattered across pale skin, more skin than anyone was showing in Boston in late October.
It took a moment for Billy to force his eyes up from the strong lines of the stranger's back, only to blink for a few seconds at the worn and faded Kappa Phi Delta hat.
It probably couldn't be. But just in case, he cleared his throat, rocking back and forth on his heels. He still remembered the warm feeling he'd gotten when the pretty boy had told him how glad he was that he ran into Billy. He didn't actually want to jeopardize that by creeping on the (likely straight) law student he'd just barely befriended.
And that same pretty boy, Steve he'd said, turned, met Billy's eye, and sighed, his shoulders slacking a little. "Don't ask."
"Wasn't gonna," Billy said, keeping his eyes on the ceiling.
Whatever had Steve Harrington out in the middle of the Boston night in short shorts and what looked like a Chippendale's bow tie, also had apparently made his eyes red rimmed and raw.
"But..." Billy ventured, "Are you ok?"
Steve turned back to the front of the line. And then back towards Billy, his eyes darting around like he was getting away with a crime by purchasing a new laptop in the middle of the day.
"You know that ex I told you about, the one I... kind of... followed here?" He said haltingly.
"Yeah?" Billy moved the hard drive he was buying to the front of his crotch, trying to be cool.
"He was there. At a party. With his new girlfriend. Who told me it was a Halloween party," Steve's shoulders fell.
So, not straight then. But very much hung up on this ex.
"So that's why-"
Steve shrugged, "Jonathan liked when I used to show some skin. That's not even the problem."
They moved up closer to the front of the line and Steve blinked those big pretty bambi eyes at Billy. As if he wouldn't be helpless for that shit.
"Want to hang out for a second after you check out? Or we can go next door and get some coffee?" Billy offered.
"Yeah," Steve's shoulders dropped a little, and he nodded, the little wave of bangs pulled through his hat bobbing just a little.
They checked out one after the other, and met up by the entrance, sliding door opening and closing rapidly as they hung for a moment by it.
"I'll just put this in my car and grab my jacket," Steve shook his head, "I was so mad, I wasn't thinking when I came in."
Billy nodded, "I'll get you something. What do you like?"
Steve bit his lip, "Just a latte. Oat milk. I'm a vegetarian."
Billy couldn't seem to stop nodding. Something about this guy turned him into a bobblehead.
It was only a few moments after he sat down that Steve joined him, hoodie laid over his arm, hard nipples and chest hair on full display. Jesus, it's like he wanted to kill Billy.
"So. The ex."
"Yes. The ex," Steve shook his head. "He was just... kind of flirting. But then he said... he just said that I didn't have to be here. That it was gonna be too hard on me and he didn't want to see me hurt."
"That what was going to be too hard?"
"Law School," Steve played with his cup. "Like, duh, I fucking know that. It's already been hard. And I know I'm not, like, the smartest of guys. But like..."
Billy was trying not to jump in, let the guy say what he needed to. But Jesus Christ, this ex was some kind of an asshole.
"I took the LSATS. I got in. I've been... like maybe I haven't been trying the hardest in every class but..." He shook his head. "Kinda pissed me off, you know."
"He's a fuckin' idiot," Billy curled one hand in a fist. "Didn't you say he got with this new girl like less than a few months ago."
"Yeah," Steve finally gave Billy some relief, shrugging the oversized hoodie on, "Gave her a ring and everything."
"He probably just doesn't like being confronted with his own bad behavior," Billy frowned, "You got in to Harvard Law, Steve. You know people work their entire lives to do that. I worked my entire life to do that."
"I worked really fucking hard to be here," Steve sipped his latte, "Fuck, that's delicious."
You're delicious, Billy thought. God, he needed to get a handle on that.
"Thanks for asking what was wrong," Steve smiled softly. "And not thinking that I'm too stupid to be here."
"Anytime," Billy smiled. "And don't worry about that guy. Plenty of bitches in the sea, am I right?"
Steve chuckled, "I guess so."
It wasn't really much of a statement, but the way those brown bambi eyes lingered had Billy sit up a little, trying not to preen. Maybe it wasn't so hopeless a crush after all.
"So. Why are you buying a computer? I thought you had one." Billy asked after a long moment.
"Oh. That. My friend Dustin back home convinced me I needed a linux computer before I left but I just need something easy. I'm going to law school, not computer science... school."
Billy chuckled, "Fair enough."
Steve smiled, his pretty brown eyes lighting up as he launched into a story about his friend Dustin, who sounded like a grade A nerd.
Billy had briefs waiting at home to research. He ought to be making dinner. But instead he had another coffee and then another, earning them the ire of the barista as they stayed late talking.
It was worth it.

Hot take… none of the Nolofinweans is “the boring one” and all are unhinged.
Fingolfin - obvious really. Challenged Satan to single combat and called him a coward AND MORGOTH CAME. Marched across an icy wasteland just to tell his half brother that he’s a bitch. Didn’t get complacent with the siege for even half a second.
Anaire - “fuck them kids”. Saw her husband and all of her children about to go into exile and decided she’d rather hang out with her girl bestie instead.
Fingon - murdered innocents. Sung a jaunty little tune while trekking through Hell and it WORKED. Rescued his cousincest failboyfriend after possibly the worst breakup of all time. Manwe felt sorry for him. Told baby Glaurung to go crawling back to mummy and he DID. Balrog fight.
Turgon - disappeared in the middle of the night with thousands of people forever because “ulmo is sending me dreams”. Morgoth had crazy beef with him SPECIFICALLY. Died screaming about the glory of the Noldor while his city fell around his ears. SUCH a hater towards his cousins that it went down in the historical record.
Aredhel - also part of aforementioned disappearance. Moved to a city where nobody could leave ever and then just…left. “My cousins who killed everyone and abandoned us to the ice are my besties actually”.
Argon - THEEEE impetuous. Literally all we know about him is he went crazy went stupid at the battle of the Lammoth and died.
Maeglin - probably you don’t want him in your secret city. Looked at seven year old Earendil and said “fuck this one kid in particular”. Strange affinity with moles.
Idril - Plagued By Visions. Secret Tunnel In the Secret City Because Bitches Love Secrets. That Ban Of the Noldor Won’t Stop Me (Or My Sexy Old Man Mortal Husband) Because I Can’t Read.
Earendil - seven years old and everyone wants to kill him. “I don’t want to do my super important quest I want my wife”. But also hold his beer while he saves the world that failed him. Covered in jewels glittery sexy swag. 1v1 with a dragon and WON.

The water droplets feel cold when they hit your skin, they’re hard and fall fast enough that they create a soft and pleasurable rhythmic song as they fall.
Normally there’s people who tend to run and find cover or hide under an umbrella as soon as the rain trickles down, but you’ve never minded the feeling of the rain; even if it can be cold, and you don’t like being cold, so. You don’t mind getting yourself soaked either even if it means drenching your clothes.
The sound of the rain relaxes you, the sound of waves crashing brings you comfort, and the view of the rain droplets dancing down from the sky has a way of bringing you ease. And that’s probably due to your connection with water.
However, today the sound of the water and the sight of the clear droplets doesn’t help the stupid ill-feeling brewing inside your guy. Maybe it’s the mission Itadori and his friends got sent to today to capture the mole; that same mole that helped the curses sneak into the school, and the same mole that is leaking information to curse users, but you can’t seem to find pleasure in the rain’s song or its view.
Something doesn’t feel right, but here’s hoping that you’re wrong. You want to be wrong.
“Hey…Geto,” the sound of Fushiguro’s voice catches you off guard, not because he called you by your…husband's name, but because ever since you met he doesn’t really make conversation with you like the others, he’s really quiet and reserved. Something that his father never was in that short interaction you had.
“Yes,” you give him your attention.
Fushiguro briefly meets your gaze before he looks at the parking garage where you’re supposed to meet Utahime. Hopefully, Satoru let her know you were coming or else you’re going to get a startled reaction, which honestly looks funny on Utahime, she’s so dramatic. It’s funny and adorable.
“That day we met,” he continues. “You said that I looked like him…were you referring to my father?”
Oh? No. No. Has Satoru not told him?! Please kid don’t ask about your father.
“I remember Gojo mentioned something like that when we met,” Fushiguro adds and finally lifts his head to meet your gaze.
You hold his gaze for a moment with confusion, but you can’t help but nod softly. “Yes, I was…why?”
Fushiguro shrugs and blinks to look at his friends ahead of you. “I was just curious…did you meet my father too?”
You nod stiffly and try to avoid anything too informative because this is Satoru’s kid, not yours. If he hasn’t told him then it’s for a good reason, you won’t be the one to break that.
“Once,” you tell Fushiguro. “Or twice, I guess. He came to see my brother once when we were children, and I guess I passed by him and I didn’t know. We met again years later, but that’s it.”
Please don’t ask. Please don’t ask.
Fushiguro hums and you try to read his face for his reaction to what you just shared, but he keeps on that nonchalant expression that’s always painted on his face and simply nods stiffly. You don’t dare and try to further this conversation, it’s not your place.
And luckily before he could try and ask or say anything else you reach the parking garage that connects to some storage units? Or some kind of storage things. And the first person your eyes land on is Utahime.
She looks older, her hair is longer and she has longer bangs. You also notice a scar across her face which makes her look badass. And just like you predicted her expression upon seeing you is different; whereas she’d be content seeing you before, now you receive a bitter and hardened gaze.
“Utahime,” you greet with the same warmth that you’d greet her with those many years ago. “Long time no see, you look nice.” You grin.
Utahime lets out a soft sigh and her shoulders tense. “I’d say it’s a pleasure,” she counters spitefully. “But it’s really not.”
You can’t help but shoot her a smirk and nod in comprehension. “Understandable.”
“Don’t patronize me,” she says through gritted teeth.
You laugh softly and when you reach her you simply pat her shoulder before you step aside to let them work. After all, you’re basically a shadow.
“This way,” Utahime moves on with the mission and leads you and the students about halfway down the garage before stopping and interjecting with a question. “You’ve heard from Gojo about the person leaking intel, right?”
“Yes,” all three students answer at the same time.
“There’s probably two or more people in contact with the curse users,” Utahime adds, “one would be a higher-up, well above the principal.”
You scoff with amusement under your breath, but Utahime hears you and shoots you a warning glare before continuing.
“I won’t be able to do anything about that one. The other would be someone passing the information up to the higher-up,” she explains as she lifts a finger from both hands. “That one is our current target. They’re only a suspect at this point, so we’ll capture them and then interrogate them.”
You fold your arms over your chest and lean back against a pillar, whilst Nobara speaks up with a question. “So who from Kyoto is it?”
“Oh?!” Itadori exclaims in surprise.
“That’s why you asked those of us from Tokyo, right?” Nobara adds and only seems to impress Itadori more.
“Kugisaki, you’re incredible.”
“The mole is…” Utahime pauses and as you drift your eyes over to her you see that she looks uncomfortable and displeased. “Mechamaru.”
One of her students you assume? A wrinkle forms between her eyebrows, and a small frown is formed on her lips.
You can’t imagine it was easy hearing that one of your own students that’s right under your nose is the mole. Then again a student being hidden away from the rest of the world is a perfect mole. They could’ve manipulated him, and even if they didn’t you wouldn’t blame him for taking the path he chose.
You do put all the blame on the higher-ups though. They like to act all high and mighty like they’re above it all, but they’re not, and what’s worse but not surprising is that they turn out to betray what they’re supposed to be protecting.
“And they say I’m the bad one,” you try to get in a conversation with Utahime, while she continues to lead the way towards a single door nearby. “A higher-up working for a curse-user…can’t say I’m surprised.”
“You are bad,” she quips. “You’re a cult leader and a curse-user.”
You shake your finger. “Ah, ah,” you quickly interject loudly so she can hear you. “Retired curse-user and it was not a cult. That word is so…” you pause and stick out your tongue in disgust. “…wrong. It was a religious facility. And! It was Suguru’s, I helped build it up, sure, so it was like, uh, 20 or 10 percent my baby, but I wasn’t the founder or the leader. He was.”
Utahime twists her head back and her displeasure and
anger for you only deepens, making the corner of your lips pull to a deeper smirk.
“Not like it matters now though,” you add quieter and with a hint of sadness in your tone. “It’s all done.”
Utahime answers with silence and stops by the door to open it and step inside. Itadori and Fushiguro let Nobara pass before them, and then they try to make you walk first, but you’re here for Itadori, you’re his shadow, not his partner right now, so after some passed and pointed glances both guys walk inside in a room, letting you walk in last and close the door behind you.
However, that turns out to be a mistake because the only source of light inside is an ominous red light over a single metal door. That’s all, no ceiling lights, no bright natural light casting in.
“Mechamaru’s real body, Kokichi Muta,” Utahime breaks the tension that you alone feel as this place gives you the creeps. “Is in this basement here. Now, it’s not like he’s suspicious. It’s more that everyone else wasn’t. So the process of elimination leaves with Mechamaru.”
When Utahime slowly opens the door, Itadori is the first to barge in as if nothing. You then all follow after him, which, by the way, this hall you walk into isn’t any better. It smells like mold, the light above is a dim and dull white-green color. And the further you walk in the worse it seems to get. At least to you anyway.
“Mechamaru’s technique is puppet manipulation,” Utahime continues to inform the students and you because this is all new to you too. “Though, thanks to his heavenly pact, the range he can manipulate puppets extends throughout Japan. If he has any unregistered puppets then he could do the work of the mole as much as he wanted.”
“Really?” You probe curiously even though you know you shouldn’t right now.
“That kid stood out a lot to me,” Itadori mutters.
“Even if the puppet was the size of a fly or a mosquito,” Utahime interjects.
“I see. But those are options too, huh?” Itadori asks while Utahime begins to slow down as you all approach a door.
“We’re here.” She points as she comes to a stop.
You draw in a deep breath and fist your hands as Utahime slowly turns the knob just in case this kid tries to tackle all of you with his puppets.
However, when she opens the door and everyone rushes inside you come to see an abandoned room. A smelly abandoned room.
“Uh,” Itadori rolls out awkwardly.
“He got us,” Utahaime mumbles out.
“Though,” Fushiguro breaks his silence. “On the other hand…”
“Now we’re certain it’s Mechamaru,” Nobara finishes saying for her friend.
No signs of struggle to indicate that he could be taken. All that’s left is tubing hanging off the ceiling, and a horrendous stench. It’s almost too calm, too quiet.
“Well,” you sigh and pull out a cigarette box to swiftly push one in between your lips. “Nothing to do with this but look over our shoulders.” You put your box away and light the cigarette with a flame you summon to your finger. “Something's brewing and we just lost our foot inside.”
You walk out of the room and everyone quickly follows.
“Don’t you have contacts?” Utahime finally addresses you. “Friends? It’s said that one of the curses might be someone dressed as a monk.”
You suck in your cheeks as you take a drag and shake your head. “No,” you breathe out as you pull the cigarette out of your mouth. “What? Just because Suguru dressed as a monk means I know them? It was an act to get the non-sorcerers curses, that's all. We didn’t actually know anyone who was a monk.”
Utahime picks up her pace to fall beside you, but as she walks in the cloud of smoke she tries to quickly wave it away.
“Can’t you just ask around?” She insists.
You look away to think while you take in another drag. Just as you’re about to take it out, Utahime reaches over and pulls the cigarette out of your mouth for you and stomps it out, making you pout softly.
“It’s not a habit,” you defend yourself as puffs of smoke escape out of your mouth. “I do it occasionally.”
“That doesn’t matter, can you?” She presses.
You let out a deep breath and nod stiffly. “I have friends. And if there’s a sketchy sorcerer then perhaps someone at the fighting club knows…” you mumble to yourself before you look at her and nod with an assuring smile playing on your lips “I’ll ask around for something, but what is it that I’m looking for exactly?”
Utahime shrugs. “All these curses, Mechamaru, and the higher-up work for someone, a curse-user who installs some kind of authority and fear. They’re up to something so they probably need any help they can get. Start there.”
You scoff and nod slowly. “All right. I’ll ask.”
She nods softly. “Thanks,” she mutters.
You steal a glance at her and hum. An idea comes to mind but you quickly shoot that down since what you have planned is for people you’re closer with, family and closer friends.
She was a friend, but you can sense the tension, and you see the way she looks at you, you’re no friend of hers. Not anymore.
Thus, you just leave it be and stay quiet. You bask in that silence and just think about the mess that’s spreading as you return to the school with your hands empty.
If only Suguru was here to help. To at least calm down your nerves even if everything isn’t okay. Why can’t he be here too? Why did he have to die and why do you have to face all this alone now?
You exhale and before you know it Ijichi parks the car to let you and the students off at the school entrance. Before you can get out though, you lean over towards him.
“Hey, I’m having dinner at my house tomorrow since the kids want to go see the community, come,” you invite him too. “I invited Nanami and my brother, of course, Ieiri will be there.” You wiggle your eyebrows playfully. “So come, yeah? Make sure my brother gets there in time.” You laugh softly.
Ijichi blinks in surprise and his cheeks begin to grow red. “M-me?” He questions.
You nod. “Yes, you. Why not? We were good friends once when I was in school. So you better come!” You pull back and slide off your seat to get out of the car. “Be there!” You shout over your shoulder one last time before you look over at the school entrance and see the woman you hoped you’d see.
“It better be something good,” she throws out as you change your pace to a jog to meet her with an embrace.
“Well, I’ll tell you now,” you tell her and step back. “It’s not a bar. I do have to go home for dinner.”
“You smell like cigarettes,” she points out and follows after you as you lead her to your motorcycle.
“Stress cigarette,” you mumble. “And I’m sorry about the ride. I didn’t plan to have passengers.”
“Ah, just something else that makes you look cooler;” she teases.
You flash her a smile. “It was part of my training. Yuki and I built a motorcycle.”
“Exactly how does that help?” Shoko probes as you hand her an extra helmet.
You stop what you’re doing to tap your chin as you think. “I don’t remember why exactly, but I remember it working.” You drop your hand and wink at Shoko. “Don’t worry, baby, I’m an excellent driver.”
Shoko looks at you with hesitance as she debates whether to believe you or not. But then again she has no other choice so she sits behind you and lets you take her to a place you only vaguely explained.
——
*LATER*
“Where are we anyways?” Shoko finally gets the chance to ask.
You put the helmets away and lead her to a multiple-story building. “Fight Club,” you finally let her know.
Albeit she doesn’t believe you so she scoffs and retorts. “I’m serious.”
You peer back and nod. “So am I. This is a fight club.”
You walk up to the door and knock once before the slit on the door opens and grey eyes peek out. They don’t say anything when they see you, they just look back and then close the slit again before they open the door for you.
“Come on,” you invite her in. “It’s early so it’s quiet right now.”
Shoko looks at you with a puzzled look, but she doesn’t hesitate to trust you and follow you at your side. After you ride the elevator to the top of the building she finally continues on with the questions you felt her wanting to ask.
“So this is what you do now that you don’t run a cult?” She asks as she studies the hallway. “Fight clubs?”
You scoff. “The word cult is so wrong. It was a religious facility. And second,” you motion with your fingers. “This isn’t really my fight club, I just, uh, financially support it. Think of me as a godmother of this place,” you say with a cocky half-smile.
Shoko hums and continues inquiring. “Then who owns this place?”
You reach the private parlor room and simply shoot her a smirk before you knock on the door just in case. You don’t want to walk into some nasty stuff.
“Come in!” You hear a happy familiar voice welcome you in.
You smile and open the door, and the moment you walk in you’re greeted with a warm and happy welcome. “Master!”
You beam. “Hello my star children,” you greet Kirara and Hakari.
Rather than coming to greet you by the door, they stay seated on the couch as they watch Shoko walk in.
“Don’t worry we can trust her,” you assure them while you close the door behind your friend.
“Kirara? Hakari?” Shoko asks quietly in disbelief.
You walk further in and nod with glee. “Yeah. Didn’t my brother tell you? I’ve been training them for the past year. They’re the owners of this club.”
“Secret club,” Kirara blurts. “So don’t be going around and talking to anyone at the school about it.”
You sit on the expensive chair behind the expensive dark wooden desk and sit back smugly. “I just wanted to show off to someone our work here,” you add. “All the investors that invested in Suguru’s facilities now invest here in exchange for us to do their dirty work of course.”
“So,” Shoko rolls out and slowly makes her way to the seat across from the pair. “You’ve brought students in to do your dirty work now? You sound like your brother.”
You chuckle dryly and shake your head. “It’s nothing they don’t want to do. We all work for something, Ieiri, it’s how the world works. They wanted something so I gave it to them, but they know that in order to keep it and be on top, they have to work for it. Besides, staying at home would bore me half to death. I need to stay busy while I’m still young.”
Shoko hums and watches you for something in particular, when she can’t find it due to the wall you put up she just stays quiet.
“Now do you want something to drink? Water, snack? You get it for free.” You laugh breathlessly.
Shoko shakes her head. “No. Now why am I here exactly?”
“I told you,” you say and lean in towards the desk to pick up a file. “I wanted to show this off and I wanted you to get out of the school for a while. God knows you work too much for them. But I will have to ask you not to go on and talk about this. This club is a secret underground kinda thing.”
“You’re not looking for a job now are you doc?” Hakari breaks his silence. “We could use a good doctor here. And you’re great.”
“We’d pay you double,” Kirara pitches in.
Shoko laughs and shrugs before sitting back. “I’ll think about it.”
“Now,” you change the subject and open the file to take out one photo of a blond ponytail guy. “Is this it?”
Hakari gets off the couch and walks to your side and nods. “Yep. No one else has stood out, just that scrawny pathetic-looking thing.”
You pick up the photo and study the skinny guy with a black cloth that covers half of his body. You also notice that he has three marks under his eyes, but that’s all that stands out. He’s pretty average-looking.
But you can’t be fooled by that.
“He simply wrote Haruta at the entrance and that’s it. He didn’t fight either, the cameras just picked on him watching the fights.”
You let out a deep breath and sit back to think.
“Probably scooping place,” Shoko interjects.
“Did security detect any extra cameras or any other stuff he carried?” You ask.
Hakari shakes his head. “Asked and he said no. He only came that one night too. Hasn’t returned since.”
“Alone?”
“Yep. Or so that’s what he made us believe.”
You look up at the ceiling and try to figure something out even though this piece of information is practically nothing.
“No one suspicious has come to visit either,” Kirara adds. “But remind me again why you’re working to look for this mole, master?” They ask with concern. “You’re practically working for the school and the higher-ups if you help them.”
“The mole thing is leading to something bigger,” you explain. “Something bigger means danger to all of us, not just the school. We’ve worked hard for what we've built, this potential threat can endanger that. So it’s not for them, it’s for me, you, Harkari, my community, and my girls. That’s what.”
“Besides she doesn’t work for anyone,” Hakari says in your defense, making you smile and look over at him. “So this labor is just a hobby.”
You chuckle and put your fist out so he can meet it halfway with a fist pump. “Nicely put.” You compliment.
“Suck up,” Kirara coughs out.
“Aw I get it now,” Shoko adds with a sly laugh. “You’re a mobster. My own little mobster.”
You pick up the landline phone and shoot her a smirk. “Got to keep the money coming somehow. Plus this is a way to keep tabs on sorcerers around Japan. You’d be surprised how many sorcerers I have tabs on. I work to piss my family off. And this,” you point at the desk to refer to all your work. “Would make them livid.” You roll your head down and begin to call up a number.
“Now what would your high school self say about you now?” Shoko teases.
“She’d be surprised but proud.” You say and throw a hand out to display your excitement as the phone rings.
“Hello?” The voice that belongs to an old business partner answers.
“Kong,” you greet sweetly. “Long time, yeah?”
You hear him draw in a deep breath before he scoffs shakily. “Y/N.”
You tilt your head down and rest your elbow on the desk to lay your head on your palm. “Now I hope I didn’t interrupt anything. You’re a very hard man to find. I hope you weren’t avoiding me. You know what happens when someone does.” You taunt.
“Why would I?” He mutters. “We’re old friends, so I know you want something?”
“Oh,” you breathe out. “Looking for work,” you lie. “Without Suguru here I’m growing bored, I need to find work to do. Do you happen to know anyone in need of any sorcerers for hire?”
Kong doesn’t answer for a few seconds, letting you pick up your head and turn on the computer to check his last location a friend gave you. “You’ve gone quiet, what is it? I wouldn't want to go to the States to ask in person.”
“I—”
“Don’t,” you cut him off abruptly and in an intimidating voice. “I know where you are, Kong. You’ve been avoiding me since Suguru died. So I know you’re hiding something, spill it or I’ll tell my friend in the red cap next to you to make this the last call you ever take.”
Kong shares a nervous laugh that makes the frown on your face deepen. “We’ve been friends for a decade, y/n,” he stammers. “I went to your wedding—”
“And I don’t care,” you interrupt and begin to tap your manicured nail against the wooden surface. “You stopped being my friend the moment you stopped talking to me, even then you meant nothing to me. I won’t blink an eye to give the command. Spill it or I’ll lose my patience.”
Kong exhales deeply before he answers a bit quieter. “My life is at stake here okay? But I’ll tell you this because you are my friend because I care. Manami and Toshihisa are hiding something. Unfortunately for them, they haven’t let go of the goal Geto put in their head.” He sighs. “This should be enough right?”
You clench your jaw and grow cold and stiff. “Yeah,” you deadpan and hang up.
“What is it, master?” Kirara asks right away since the confused and suddenly hurt look on your face is obviously clear.
“Maybe nothing,” you answer honestly. “Or maybe something important. I think Manami and Toshihisa are betraying me.”
The room falls silent and your mind begins to run rampid.
Yeah, you’ve always known that the two that were just named have been a bit more motivated about what Suguru preached. And after he died they wanted to continue with his work, but you didn’t exactly egg them on. You had no purpose for the religious facilities since you couldn’t store curses like Suguru, and you just hurt too much to try and continue his goal at such a big scale, so you just gave up his dream.
It seems like they didn’t though. And it shouldn't be surprising, not really, but they were still family. For a long time, they were all you had, so that’s why this feels like getting shot in the back. You’re supposed to be close, you’re supposed to share stuff like that with each other, so why didn’t they? What are they hiding?
“So what does that mean for our problem?” Shoko queries.
You continue to tap your nail against the surface and shrug. “I don’t know. I doubt they’ll talk to me…they’ve been distant…I should’ve known, damn it.”
“There’s no way you could’ve known,” Kirara tries to assure you. “You had faith in them.”
“Who’s the suck-up now?” Hakari rebuttals softly. “But in any way, master, Kira is right. There’s no way you could’ve known so don’t beat yourself up over it. Let’s look for them and beat the information out of ‘em.”
You laugh softly and nod stiffly. “Yeah, you’re right, Kin, no need for more stress. I'll just accept it as it is, a betrayal...” You sigh loudly and sit back lazily. “What a pain in my ass! I should’ve never taken this favor for Satoru.”
“Now look at you,” Shoko retorts. “Now you’ve got your head stuck in that hole. With no way out.”
You fold your arms over your chest and mumble. “I should…I should get my head out. Give me a good reason why I should stay, Ieiri?”
Said woman sighs and you hear the leather seat she’s on shift as she moves in her seat. “Your kids' lives could be on the line,” she puts it simply, making you lower your head and steal a glance at Kirara and Hakari before you look at your hands and think of your girls.
She’s right. Whatever’s going on isn’t just a drizzle with the sun poking out, it’s a brewing storm with no sun, just darkness.
“And,” Shoko adds. “You won’t leave Satoru to deal with it on his own, no matter how much he fights for you to stay behind.”
That’s also right. She’s right.
“Yeah, I guess you’re right,” you mumble.
“Always am.”
You manage a faint smile and have to just drop your head in your hands to take in what was dropped on you; another weight to your already heavy and tensionful chest. You’re not drowning anymore, Hakari and Kirara saved you from that, but this weight? Oh, that weight.
You can’t breathe again. It’s getting hard again.
“If that’s what you want,” Hakari says. “Then there’s nothing you can do about it at this moment.”
You hear feet hit the ground before someone comes over. As you lift your head you see Kirara finally joined Hakari and you by the desk.
“What?” You probe as you notice that they’re up to something.
“Just doing our thing,” they simply put it out before they lean over and get on the computer to put on music.
“Ah,” you laugh breathlessly and can’t help but tug a happy smile on your face. “I see.”
“What’s going on?” Shoko asks as she sees all of you smile.
“She smokes when she’s stressed,” Kirara explains. “We’ve found an alternative. We dance it out. When he can of course.”
Yet no matter how much you danced it out at that moment, no matter how much fun you did have. At night after you put Satori to sleep, after the twins began to get ready for bed, all that you ran away from comes back and you’re reminded of that heavy weight, and you can’t help but think of the man that can’t come and comfort you, the man you can’t hold.
All that stress transforms to longing and you feel lonelier as you’re embraced by the cold fall bitter air under the starry sky. You try to find comfort in his stupid gojogesa you always hated seeing on him, but it no longer smells like him, it’s not warm after his use, it’s cold and holds nothing but agony.
You try to maybe find comfort in one of your many favorite pictures you have with him to try to relive that moment in your head and see him at least as a distant memory, but you can’t bring yourself to feel an ounce of happiness at the sight of the engraved memory on the piece of glossy paper. And when you play that day of him trying to make baby Satori look at the camera in your head, all you see is a faded day, and all you feel is longing for a moment you can’t share with him anymore.
So you put the picture down and press your hand on the empty spot next to you on the dock, and close your eyes to try and picture him here with you in such a vivid way that perhaps you’ll be able to feel some ounce of his presence. But again only the cold air keeps you company, and the only warmth you feel is that of your tears running down your cheeks.
Nevertheless, you still open your eyes and expect him to be looking right back at you with that sweet and charming smile of his, but he’s not here. Not even the ghost of him.
Albeit there are a pair of eyes watching you. Two to be exact, but you don’t catch them since they keep themselves away from your eyesight, so you don’t catch them watching you cry for the man they saw you love with your whole heart. They just watch you with pity and sympathy, and a bit of guilt since they can’t do anything to get him back for their little sister, for them, or for you so you wouldn’t be so lonely anymore.
——
*THE NEXT DAY*
“Welcome, friends, family.” You greet the guests that are coming here for the first time, and the guests who are already familiar with this place. “Some of you have already set foot in our fine establishment, but those who haven’t, welcome to the community…”
The name is still a work in progress, so for now, that’s what it’s going to be called.
“…Our community for sorcerers.”
“Boo get on with it,” Satoru pretends to haggle.
You look at him surprised. “You’re here early,” you respond kindly. “Did Ijichi really drag you out?”
“N-no—”
“No,” Satoru cuts Ijichi off. “Nanami came over and basically did.”
You offer your friend a thankful smile and then point inside before you begin to lead Shoko, Ijichi, and the first-year students to your house through the community. “As I said, we try to be as self-sufficient as possible. We grow our crops, we have a greenhouse; cows, goats, chickens, and horses.”
“You eat horses?” Itadori dares to ask almost a bit horrified.
You look back and shoot him an offended look before you shake your head rapidly. “No! Horses are great therapy, we use them to help sorcerers who struggle. And taking care of them is fun, they’re beautiful creatures, so no we don’t eat them!”
Satoru walks over to Itadori and throws his arm around his shoulders before leaning close to him to add a comment with a mischievous smirk. “My sister here is like a hippie, she’s into meditation, and a connection with the earth. She’s a weirdo. Don’t mind her.”
You glare at him and huff.
“Actually,” Fushiguro cuts in nonchalantly. “Meditation is proven good for your mental health, and in our case, it’s good to improve our mental strength for our techniques. So I wouldn't say it’s weird.”
You spin around and face your brother with a taunting grin. Whilst he lets go of Itadori and looks at Fushiguro amused.
“You sound like my sister,” Satoru teases his student—or protege, or adopted son? From what your brother mentioned he’s been looking out for Fushiguro ever since Toji died; Toji who happens to be his father. So they’ve been in each other's lives for eleven years now. So yeah he’s probably like a son or a little brother.
“That’s actually right,” you defend Fushiguro and then turn back around. “Anyway, we don’t eat horses, and there’s not a lot of people living here, but we are a scarce few, but,” you clap your hands. “Those who do live here are from all around the world. For the most part. Right now,” you say and look around at the semi-empty streets. There’s only a couple of people roaming around, but for the most part, everyone seems to be in their homes. “It seems it’s down time, earlier in the day though, it’s very lively.”
“Satoru!” You hear someone yell.
“Hey, Satoru!”
You glance over your shoulder and see women waving and flirting with your brother from afar. And of course, he doesn’t leave them hanging.
“Hey, ladies!” He flashes them a flirty smile and waves back. “So good to see ya!”
You groan in disgust and just move along. “We have a school for the younger kids, a daycare, and a training facility here too,” you continue to share happily.
“Can I ask what people do for money? And rent?” Nobara asks.
You nod. “Some people go to work outside, but I don’t make anyone pay for their housing, people have chores. But no rent,” you laugh softly. “And utilities are covered by me, but we do have solar panels, alternatives. We just—”
“Have you ever heard of communism?” Satoru butts in. “Well, this is it. My sister is a model, sorcerer, and a communist. Hefty resume.” He grins and turns his head to face you.
“Well,” Shoko interjects and lets out a deep breath. “I'm tempted to come here to retire now. This sounds like a treat. And looks nicer than I expected considering it’s all in the middle of the woods.”
You offer her a smile and steal one glance at the students observing the place with curious and slightly awe-struck faces.
“Dinner is ready, but the twins will give you a more thorough tour of the place after. That way you’re not stuck with us oldies for so long.” You giggle and grab Shoko’s arm to drag her along with you. “Come on, come on, I want you to meet her already.”
The tour is short since you didn’t take them to any of the barns, or any other minor location in your community, but you just can’t help it. You want Shoko to meet Satori already, plus it’s getting late so everyone must be getting hungry. You know you are.
And once you approach your house, the door gets thrown open and your daughter comes running out to greet one person. “Uncle Satoru!”
Satoru walks past Nanami, Shoko, and you to meet Satori halfway with an embrace he had to give her while on his knees so he can be at her level.
“Satori!” Satoru greets with the same energy.
“I missed you,” Satori says and pulls back to face him. “I haven’t seen you since…forever ago. Like, last month.” She exaggerates.
Satoru snickers. “Sorry I’ve been busy, but,” he adds and pulls his hand away to pretend and grab something from her ear. She giggles and watches him as he swiftly maneuvers his gift between his fingers before he presents her with a little golden key. “This is for you.”
Satori looks at the key slightly confused, and then glances at you to seek help for what she’s seeing.
“A key?” She asks and takes the small golden key from his hand. “What for?”
Satoru pulls his shades off and winks at her. “You’ll see.” He then leans in and whispers something in her ear before pointing at Shoko.
Satori follows his finger and when she sees the stranger before her she shuffles closer to Satoru. After all, out of everyone here, she’s the only one she hasn’t met. She met the students and Ijichi after Satoru insisted that he wanted to take her to meet his students, so they’re not strangers to her, she actually really likes Fushiguro for some odd reason. But Shoko? They’ve never met until now.
“Geez,” Shoko muses. “I guess there’s no need for a DNA test, she looks just like him.”
You blink and slowly look at her with a pointed look. “Why would you say that?” You mutter.
Shoko shrugs. “I don’t know, I’m seeing her in person now and all I see is a girl version of Suguru.”
You hum in agreement since she is right, but why did she have to say it like that?
“You sure she’s yours?” Shoko jokes, making you shake your head.
“Hello,” your daughter's voice cuts in. And when you look down you see her with an arm draped around her uncle, and her cheek pressed against his.
“Shoko, this is Satori—”
“Satoru,” you try to cut in so the girl can introduce herself.
“Satori, this mine and your mom's oldest friend, Ieiri Shoko!” He completely ignores you.
“Hello,” Shoko greets your daughter kindly and crouches down so Satori can see her warm smile. “You look just like your dad, you know that?”
“You were my daddy’s friend too?” Satori queries as she stays next to your brother.
Shoko nods. “Yeah, he was my best friend.”
Satori smiles. “My uncle Satoru said that. You’re very pretty,” she says
Shoko grins and touches her chest. “Aw thank you. So are you.”
Satori blushes and grabs harder onto Satoru as she grows timid.
“This is for you,” Shoko shares and offers her a small pink gift bag.
Before your daughter can take it though she meets your gaze for reassurance.
You quickly give it to her, and she slowly steps away from Satoru to take the bag, letting Shoko stand up to her given height.
“Thank you,” Satori tells her before she puts the bag down to open it and pulls out a box that she strains to take out. “It’s heavy,” she mumbles and turns to you. “Mommy, can you help me?”
You walk over and crouch to hold the box for her so she can open it. She then puts her hands inside and sticks her tongue out as she slowly pulls out a small, beautiful black and golden orb music box that’s adorned with delicate designs, and small white paintings on the lid. Of course, though, Satori can’t identify what it is right away.
“What is it?” She asks with an amused smile tugging her lips.
“You have to use your key,” Satoru lets her know, making her glance at the golden key in her hand before she does as she’s told and carefully turns it a couple of times. When the key stops, Satori pulls her hand back and glances at you with slight confusion. However, before she can ask what follows, the lid opens and a sweet melody begins to play, causing the fairy in the middle to begin dancing along gently.
Satori’s eyes soften and a big and happy smile grows on her face. “Aww, look Mommy! Look!”
You nod softly. “I’m looking, now what do you tell the sweet lady.” You say and flash Shoko a teasing smile.
Satori snaps her head over towards Shoko and her eyes basically gleam with how excited she is. “Thank you!”
Shoko offers her a smile and a soft nod. “Yeah, you're welcome.”
Satori offers Shoko one more smile before she takes her box and walks over to Nanami.
“Look, maybe we can play a song for my daddy,” she tells him and grabs his hand to begin pulling him inside with her. “You like it, uncle Nanami?”
Said man smiles softly and nods. “Yeah, it’s very nice. Do you love it?”
“Yes! Do you think my daddy will like hearing it?” She asks.
“I think so,” Nanami agrees and goes along with Satori. “I think he’ll love it just as much as you do.”
Finally, without more interruptions, you continue to finish this tour inside. “Come on, let’s get in, dinners ready!”
“Hey, yeah I’m starving!” Itadori exclaims and skips forward to be ahead of the group, letting Satori glance at him as she continues walking at Nanami’s side.
“Hey, Itadori,” she addresses him with a very serious and curious look. “If you’re so strong how come you don’t have any muscles?”
Your eyes widen in disbelief even though you’re fighting the need to burst out laughing.
Nobara on the other hand chuckles and hits Itadori’s back. “Nice one Satori!” She tells your little girl.
“I do too,” Itadori argues. “They’re under my jacket.”
Satori's eyebrows furrow and she looks unconvinced. “Hm.”
Itadori gasps and then hits Fushiguro's chest. “He doesn’t have any either. How come you don’t tell him that, huh?”
“She’s 6 years old, Itadori,” Fushiguro mutters in annoyance. “Leave it be.”
“Well…” Satori pauses and glances back at Satoru, and then at Nanami next to her, and doesn’t bother bringing Fushiguro into this. “My Uncle Satoru and Nanami have muscles. So does my uncle Miguel and my uncle Larue. How come you don’t?”
“I’ll show you—”
“He’s just younger…” Nanami interjects to inform your daughter, but you lose track of what they’re saying as they walk inside the house first.
When you get inside you all take your shoes off, and you then rush over to the living room and thankfully find your other daughters lounging on the couch without as much excitement as Satori possessed over this dinner.
They only decided to join because you mentioned that Nanami and other people besides your brother would be here, otherwise, they probably would’ve left or stayed in their room if it was just you and your brother.
“Get up, just an introduction and we’ll go eat,” you try to move them off the couch.
Mimiko is the first to get up, while Nanako groans and has her sister help her off the couch.
“Nice bunny,” you remind her as you caress her head before you push them along with you towards the kitchen where everyone is heading.
“Everyone!” You cut in, making them stop one more time. “Just some last introductions. This,” you point at Mimiko by grabbing her shoulder. “Is Mimiko.”
Said girl takes everyone in and then offers everyone a gentle bow. “Hello,” she greets and stands up to hold her stuffed creature tighter against her before you notice her eyes fall on one teenage boy in particular; the nonchalant, urchin head, Megumi Fushiguro.
He seems to meet her gaze and hold it for a moment before you cut it by introducing someone else. “And this is Nanako.”
This greeting is a bit more stiff and cool compared to Mimiko’s warm and timid one. “Hey.”
You laugh dryly and introduce the others quickly. “Girls you know Ijichi.”
Nanako giggles and nods.
“Hello girls,” Ijichi greets them stiffly. “Nice seeing you again.”
Nanako simply smirks, letting you move on. “These are my brother's students, Megumi Fushiguro, Yuji Itadori, and Nobara Kugisaki. And Lastly,” you roll out more upbeat as you move over to take your friend's arm. “This is Doctor Ieiri Shoko, the girl I told you about. My best friend!”
“Nice to meet you girls,” Shoko greets them warmly before Nobara steps forward and points at them with a slightly surprised look on her face.
“Is that Chanel, the 1995 spring collection?”
Nanako and Mimiko share a quick look before Mimiko nods.
Nobara gasps and her jaw drops. “Where did you get it?!”
“Y/n’s closet,” Nanako shows off. “She has a lot of cool clothes.”
You groan softly in protest but they just ignore you and continue to interact, making you smile proudly nonetheless and watch them for a lingering moment before you walk to the dining room with Shoko, your brother, Ijichi, and the boys.
“We’re back,” Satori announces without her box and with Nanami following behind her. “I let Daddy hear the box while I eat.”
“That’s very nice my girl,” you tell her sweetly as you walk to the end of the food-filled table that makes Itadori’s eyes basically pop out of his sockets.
“This all looks so good!” He exclaims and rushes over to get a seat as if they would run out.
“My mommy and Belinda made it,” Satori announces as she takes a seat next to Satoru.
“Oh if that's the case,” Satoru jokes around. “Get your fake smiles and a napkin ready.”
“But mommy is a good cook,” Satori defends you, making Satoru lean towards her to whisper something that makes her giggle before she looks at you and changes her response. “I mean she’s not!” She giggles along with her uncle.
“I’d appreciate it if you didn’t joke around like that with her,” you try to advise him sweetly.
“Relax, she knows it’s just a joke.” He waves you off.
You sigh and just ignore it for now and wait for everyone to gather around the table.
“Oh, yeah where’s Hakari and Kirara?” Shoko queries as she grabs a bowl of food to serve herself.
“Busy,” you tell her. “They couldn’t make it.”
You look around the table and watch everyone settle down with a growing smile. Your brother sits across from you, and the twins choose to sit beside you so as to avoid being near your brother, Nobara sits beside them and they seem to carry on their current conversation, while Fushiguro tries to pull Itadori from overfilling his plate. Nanami sits next to Satori, and Shoko sits at your other side, making Ijichi sit next to her and make himself small as if to avoid bothering her.
You watch everyone fill their plate and talk amongst themselves with admiration that turns to longing for only one man. He would’ve loved to see this moment here, he would’ve been enchanted having his friends and his family dining together like a close united front. This would’ve been a glimpse of that life he dreamed of, or maybe it would’ve been enough, but he would’ve loved all this.
But he’s not here, and all you can do is be happy for him.
“I just wanted to thank everyone for being here,” you cut in as everyone begins to eat. “It really means a lot. It’s been a long time since we’ve been gathered like this, and I know there’s a couple of people missing, but we’ll carry them with us today, and welcome the new faces that accompany us.” You smile at all the kids. “Thank you.”
“Cheers!” Itadori muffles as he chews his food, making Fushiguro and Nanami look at him with disgust.
“Exactly,” you counter sweetly. “Actually feel free to serve yourselves wine made with organic grapes from Italy. It’s homemade by Miguel, a member of our family. And don’t worry it’s light on the alcohol, so Itadori, Nobara, and Fushiguro, you can have some. And don’t worry,” you snicker. “I’ve made a non-alcoholic one for you Satoru, you and Satori can share.”
Satoru clenches his jaw and folds his hands over the table as Shoko and you laugh at him.
“Who would’ve thought,” you add smugly. “That the strongest sorcerer can’t handle his liquor.” You chuckle. “So if you kids ever want to defeat him just give him a cup of alcohol and he’ll go down. Like that one time on Shoko’s birthday, do you remember when he…” you pause and laugh hysterically along with Shoko to the point you can’t finish your story as you recall that day.
“He fell—“ Shoko snorts, and you wheeze.
“Poor Haibara man,” you gasp for air.
“Hilarious,” Satoru deadpans. “I hope you both choke on your food.”
“It was pretty funny,” Nanami joins in too with a tiny smile before he takes a bite of his food.
You slap your chair and wipe away your tears.
“So are you going to tell us, or?” Nobara asks.
Shoko and you look at each other again and burst out laughing. And you in fact don’t end up telling the story, you just can’t muster up the strength to do it without laughing. It was just too much of a funny night, so it goes untold and the night carries on great. No better than that, it’s perfect in your opinion. You have fun. You smile and go on not thinking about Suguru for a while.
Games are played, and more stories are told, the older kids go out and get shown around the property by the twins, while Satori has no other choice but to be with you. Not like she minded though, she enjoyed Nanami and Satoru’s company.
The night transcends almost like old times, you acknowledge the big hole left by a couple of people, but you feel that same bliss. So simple and so warm. And it doesn’t get knocked down by the loss you still mourn deeply every day. Eventually, you end up catching the twins and the other three hanging around a bonfire they built by the lake, and rather than feeling sad as you recall the fact that it reminds you of your youth and that he can’t see this moment, you smile to yourself and admire from the older kids afar with a drink in your hand.
This, this moment is what you've worked so hard for. Watching Nanako, Nobara, and Itadori laughing about something they said, noticing Fushiguro and Mimiko smile timidly at each other as they seem to discuss over a book in her hand without a worry, is what you dreamed of. Of course, this is a fraction of it, but it’s the next generation of sorcerers living a simple moment that you longed to see.
They deserve to live it for as long as they live.
“What’s going over here?” Satoru breaks your silence.
You blink and watch him take the empty next to you on the patio swing. “I was just watching the kids,” you point out and shift your body to face him. “Admiring them. And hoping their lives are just filled with moments like the ones they’re living now.”
Satoru drifts his eyes to watch them now too and a soft smile tugs on his face. “They will. That’s what we’re fighting for aren’t we?”
You hum in agreement and continue to watch him as a question forms in your head unrelated to what you just spoke about. It’s an old question really, one that always lingers in your head. And you don’t know why you have the burning desire to ask it now out of all days; maybe it’s the quiet moment, maybe it’s the alcohol in your system, but it comes to your lips, it forms tears in your eyes and makes your heart race before you start it.
“Why?” You ask quietly.
Satoru hums and lifts his head to slowly turn and face you with a questioning look. When he sees the tears welling in your pleading eyes it’s not hard to know what this is leading to.
“Why did you leave that day?” You plead for an answer again. “Why did you break my heart that day?”
Satoru blinks repeatedly and glances down as he brushes his fingers through his hair.
“And don’t avoid it,” you press sharply and breathlessly as if you had been out of breath. “Don’t rebuttal with a question, tell me. You owe me that at least because I don’t think I can go on pretending I’m okay with it. I can’t live like this anymore, so please, Satoru tell me why you left me behind in that damn house with those horrible people we call our family.”
Satoru smacks his lips as he draws in a deep breath, and nervously licks his lips as he slowly breathes out through his nose. “I…thought I was making the right choice.”
You scoff. “The right choice? The right choice was trusting me,” you argue. “I don’t know if I would’ve left with Suguru if I did leave with you, there’s no way of knowing, but you had to trust me. And you didn’t, you betrayed me in the worst way possible and it hurt…” you inhale sharply and grab your chest to let out that shaky breath.
“I just didn’t want you to leave too,” Satoru finally shares, making your breath hitch. “He had left, I thought I could prevent you from leaving if you stayed there. I didn’t think they’d try and make you do anything, you know?” He says and his gaze never flickers away from yours. “So I left. And I knew you’d be angry by it, but I was convinced I could make it up when I took you back to the school. I just didn’t want you to leave…” he trails off and swallows back thickly before he exhales deeply.
You look at him with your eyes glossy and with a soft look of disbelief and full of pain.
“I’m sorry,” he says and makes you freeze and look at him blankly as you progress words you didn’t think he’d say, at least you thought you’d need to drag it out of him.
“I’m sorry that I ended up hurting you,” he whispers in a soft voice you rarely hear now. It’s so genuine and vulnerable.
But it’s not enough. Five days were a few, but those five days were torture and they happened because he left you that day.
“It’s not that easy,” you mutter as the shock passes and contentment laced with deep cemented pain takes its place. “But…I want to try and forgive you. I…miss you. I hate feeling this tension between us. I hate not talking like we used to when you come over. But it’s not easy forgiving you because I really looked up to you…”
Satoru huffs softly and his eyes fall.
“I really thought you’d never hurt me and you did,” you whisper. “I can’t forget that, but I want to try. I do.”
Satoru inhales sharply and meets your gaze with a softened look and nods softly. “Yeah that’s a start,” he says.
You laugh softly and nod in agreement. Silence follows after that, but it’s not awkward, it’s not full of tension you can cut through with a knife, and there’s genuine contentment and relief over this new beginning.
However, that slowly crumbles as you feel that longing and that gap left behind by a man you both cherished and cared for.
“I really miss him,” you break the silence in hopes he feels the same.
Satoru draws out a deep breath and nods. “I know,” he mutters and notices you holding back your tears as you stare at the ground so he slowly, and carefully puts his hand on your back to very gently caress it.
He didn’t need to say anything else, you heard the softness of his voice, and you detected the grief you feel every day. And this time the silence that descends over you lingers for a while, up to the moment he grows cold.
“It’s cold out here,” he tells you and gets out of the chair. “Why don’t we head inside?”
You look up at him and nod, but you don’t move. “I’ll be there soon. I just need to collect myself a bit.”
Satoru hesitates but he doesn’t fight you to leave. This is your home after all. “All right. Just don’t freeze to death out here because I will gloat.”
You let out a soft laugh and watch him walk inside before you take a chug of the alcohol you still have and then let your body slide to the side as you rest your elbow on the armrest, and lay your head on your hand as you stare off blankly while you think about him.
It doesn’t seem like you were there for so long, you didn’t feel time pass, but apparently it did because suddenly Nanami comes out to join you.
“Y/N, you’ve been out here for a while, why don’t you come inside? Get to bed and sleep it off, yeah?”
You sigh and shake your head. “No…n-no, I just need to collect myself. I don’t want her to see me like this,” you mutter and put the bottle down before you sit up to swing your legs back and forth. “Just a…bib more,” you slur your words.
Nanami sighs and slowly takes a step closer. “Satori asked Satoru to put her to bed, and the twins took the students to their room, so come on,” he says and closes the space left between the two of you by gently grabbing your arm and picking you off the porch swing.
You swallow thickly and try to argue, but you actually don’t have the strength so you just muster something else that slips out of your mouth. “I’m sorry…I’m a terrible host. Suguru…he was better at it…I’m sorry.”
Nanami pulls you inside to the warmth that fills the house, and you sigh as you finally feel embraced by the warmth.
“You did pretty well,” Nanami tells you. “Up until you didn’t come back inside.”
You roll your eyes and nudge him gently. “Oh, come on you're being too nice. What happened to you? You used to be mean.”
Nanami scoffs softly. “I was going through a phase,” he rebuttals. “And I didn’t say you were good, I said you did well.”
You laugh softly and then hiccup, making your friend look at you with worry.
“How much did you have to drink?” Nanami asks, considering you tend to be erratic when you’re drunk like you are now.
You shrug and pinch your fingers together. “A little”
At least you were erratic, Suguru’s death changed you; you’re a lot quieter now too, more serious than he was used to from you. Perhaps if it wasn’t for Satoru asking you to train Hakari and Kirara, you would have locked yourself away in your community only tending to your people and daughters.
Yet even if you had a reason to pull yourself up, Nanami could still see all that pain you like to hide. He can see it now so clearly in your glossy orange-red eyes, he can see it through your silence as he helps you to your room.
“I’ll bring you some water, and a bucket,” Nanami whispers softly. “Just in case.”
You lift your blankets and crawl into your bed. “Okay,” you mutter and think about the fact that you’re in your clothes, but your mind doesn’t actually give the command to change, you just lay and think about it while Nanami disappears.
That is until it’s like you forgot that Suguru has been gone for almost a year and turn to your side in search of Suguru. You expect to see him sleeping on his back, with his long hair draped over his shoulders while some other strands are spread about his pillow wildly. You expect to see him with his head tilted to the side, causing drool to dribble down the corner of his mouth. Alas, the moment your eyes fall on an empty spot next to you your heart shatters and you’re slammed with the urgent need to cry.
However, before you can shed a tear, footsteps approach your bed and once again you grow illusioned with Suguru, so you flip around and call out to him in the darkness of your room. “Suguru?”
But it’s not him, your eyes land on Nanami.
That’s right…it’s just Nanami.
“Uh,” Nanami breathes out awkwardly. “Here’s water, a bucket, and pills on your nightstand.”
Tears slip down your cheeks as you feel a ripping pain inside your chest. You don’t say anything on the matter, nor does Nanami add anything else, he just puts his hands in his pocket and glances at you one more time before he announces his leave.
“Goodnight, y/n, I’ll check in on you tomorrow.”
You avert your gaze and stay quiet, he takes this as his confirmation and turns to head out, but before he can you reach over and take his arm. “Kento, please don’t leave,” your voice breaks. “Please…I don’t want to be alone...I’m so lonely,” you cry quietly.
Nanami sighs and walks back to you to crouch by your side, and proceeds to slowly pull your hand off his arm to tuck it back under the blanket.
“I’m sorry,” he whispers. “I am. I don’t know what else to say but that…” he trails off and exhales deeply. “I’ll just—”
“Nanami,” another voice cuts in. “It’s okay I got it from here.”
You look over your shoulder and see Shoko walking in.
“Are you sure?” Nanami queries.
She hums and once she reaches the bed she shoves your legs back and throws the blanket aside before she lets her slippers fall off her feet. Nanami stands up and you completely forget about him as you’re filled with confusion and glee.
“What are you doing?” You ask Shoko as you turn to watch her climb into your bed.
“Spending the night,” she says mindlessly.
The confusion you just felt completely vanishes and you’re filled with overwhelming joy that makes you cry. You didn’t want to cry, but the liquor has you all loopy so happy tears roll down your cheeks now.
“Is that okay?” Shoko makes sure to ask even though she’s tucking herself in like she used to when you lived together.
You nod and quickly throw your arm around her before you snuggle up beside her. “Of course,” you assure her. “It’s better than okay…thank you,” you muster through your drunken state.
Shoko slowly wraps her arm around you and responds with a simple gentle squeeze before lolling her head on yours. Your smile softens at the feeling of her warmth embracing yours and you can’t help but close your eyes to find peace in this moment.

*SOMETIME LATER. OCTOBER 31, 7:30 pm*
“And here is Satoru’s juice box,” you tease your brother as you set the drinks down by their respected person.
“And you get two drinks?” Satoru rebuttals. “Feeling ballsy? I’m not carrying you to bed.”
You smile sweetly and bat your eyelashes. “The bartender gave me a tequila shot on the house because he says I make a cute birthday girl.” You shrug sweetly and sit back in your seat.
Satoru raises a quizzical brow and scoffs. “Sure you do. Anyway, for someone who hates non-sorcerers, you surely do spend a lot of time around them.”
“Well,” you sigh and pick up your shot glass. “Ieiri wanted to take me out for my birthday, and the sorcerer-only club is lame, so I’m sucking it up. Here. At this fun bar.” You grin and twist around to face your friends who came to celebrate your birthday with you; Shoko, Nanami, Larue, Satoru of course, and Mei-Mei. “Let’s all raise our cups to a fun night.”
Your friends' eyes fall on you, and they all raise their drinks.
“And to your birthday!” Shoko adds with a soft smile.
“Yes, happy 28th, Y/N,” Larue says from the far end of the table so as to not sit next to the man that killed the man he looked up to. He wouldn't have come if your brother was coming too, but it is your birthday so he made an exception. “May you continue to age just as gracefully as you are now my beloved friend.”
You push your drink towards him and flash him a warm beaming grin.
“Happy birthday y/n,” Nanami interjects softly.
“Happy birthday, little sister,” Satoru surprises you, making you drift your gaze across from you to express that surprise in a soft manner—“May you continue to live on so I have someone to annoy.”
You groan softly and lower your cup as you narrow your gaze.
Satoru chuckles and leans over the table. “Happy birthday,” he says softer.
You draw out a small breath and offer him a sweet and genuine smile.
“To y/n’s birthday!” Mei-Mei says, making everyone raise their cups in the air before you pull them into your lips and start off the night.
When you finish your shot you slide that cup aside and pull in the original drink you ordered. “Now to change the music to something actually listenable, and then we should start our first game of the night!” you interject joyfully. You can’t have yourself feeling any other way today even if it’s your first birthday without Suguru. Because if you sit and really feel what you want to feel then no one will be able to take you out of that dark place called grief.
So you’re determined to feel nothing but gratitude for those who came to celebrate with you, and joy for being able to celebrate another year. And when you get so drunk that you begin to cry about your man then it’s whatever because you will already be drunk and partied out. That will be a good way to end the night!
Nevertheless, just as you take your first step, your phone begins to ring and threatens to ruin the night just as it started.
“How come you made all of us shut our phones off, but you get to have yours on?” Satoru complains.
You peer back at him with a pointed glare. “Because I have kids at home, and you all don’t, you guys get calls from work, so no phones for any of you until the night is over.” You shoot him a sweet smile and take a look at the screen, but realize the number is an unknown one.
Thus you hang up and waltz over to the jukebox and flip through the variety of music. It takes you a minute to click through all the music and find something you like, but you eventually find the right song, and just as you’re about to click on it your phone goes off again.
“Damn,” you hiss in annoyance and pull your phone out again to check. And once again it’s that same unknown number so you answer impatiently this time. “Hello!”
“Gojo,” a familiar deep voice greets you almost distastefully.
“Yaga?” You scoff. “Isn’t this a surprise?” You laugh. “I can't imagine you’d call to wish me a happy birthday, so,” you roll out almost with a hint of nervousness in your tone because a call from him doesn’t mean anything good. “What do you want?” You ask and press on the song to play overhead.
“Are you with your brother? He doesn’t answer his damned phone.”
You blink and feel your joy begin to fade away, and that brewing storm only grows darker and more dangerous. “Yeah,” you mutter and slowly turn around to give your back to the jukebox. “Please don’t tell me you’re also looking for Nanami, Shoko, and Mei-Mei?”
“Yes, I am! Are they with you too?! Why aren’t they answering their damn phones?! I get why Satoru wouldn’t, he’s a slack-off, but them?!” He shouts, causing you to pull your phone away from your ear. “Put me on speaker, Gojo, what I have to say concerns all of you.”
No, no.
You rush back to the table and slam your phone on the table to catch all of your friends' attention. “It’s Yaga,” you announce and put him on speaker.
“Oh,” Satoru begins to say playfully as he folds his arms over the table. “Yaga? Don’t tell me you feel hurt you’re not invited to my sister's birthday bash. Well, I would’ve told you but you know, it’s for young people only, you—”
“Shut up,” Yaga cuts him off, causing you to snicker. “Since none of you are answering your phones, listen well, there’s trouble brewing in Shibuya.”
Your amused smile falls and that joy you have been entertaining completely vanishes.
“I’m sorry I have to end your night, but all sorcerers, including allies, students, and staff alike have been summoned to deal with what’s going on.”
So not you? Please not you.
“Are you going to stop edging us on already?” Shoko cuts in as she rests her chin on her hand.
“Non-sorcerers have been trapped by a veil in Shibuya and are not allowed to go out,” Yaga finally shares, making everyone around the table except for Larue, to frown and grow serious and stiff. “Come to Shibuya now, I’ll explain everything else on the way. And before you say anything, y/n, you are being summoned too. Literally, the people inside the veil keep asking for the same things, we think it’s a condition by who made the veil, they say that in order to go out Satoru and Y/N Gojo need to come.”
You groan and drop your head on the table.
“Why should I even go?” You rebuttal. “I don’t help non-sorcerers.”
Yaga huffs out and sneers through the phone. “Because your brother will be here, and all your friends will come too. Don’t they matter?! Don’t do this for non-sorcerers, do this because the lives of the people you care about could be at risk!”
You groan softly in defeat and don’t say anything now. Instead, you actually end up entertaining this mysterious invitation sent by the curse-user, or special-grade intelligent curse, much to your dismay.
You shouldn’t, you really shouldn’t listen to the plan they bombarded you with on your way to Shibuya, you shouldn’t change out of your cute birthday outfit, or take off the pretty and glittery birthday crown Satori made you.
You should be home eating more cake the twins made you, and watching a movie with your family snuggled up on the couch, or you should still be at that damn bar celebrating with your friends and your brother.
But no, you’re here. You’re with your brother a few miles away from the veil trapping non-sorcerers in, and sucking in others that were towards the middle of the veil. You’re in your sorcerer outfit and about to search for whatever is seeking you and your brother.
“They’ll probably be in the center of the veil,” Satoru says as he taps his chin. “And if it’s just us we should come at them from opposite sides and at least spook them since they’re already waiting for us.”
You blink repeatedly in disbelief and roll your eyes at him to retort. “Opposite sides? So you’re going to make me go all the way around?”
Satoru looks at you amused. “Why, I can float you there if you want. Or you can fly there, Satori says you can fly.”
You shake your head and look away. “Flying is an overestimate. I glide with the wind. You know? It supports me, I don’t fly.”
Satoru laughs softly. “Well, then I’ll go to the other side, just because it's your birthday.” He says.
You can’t help the smile tugging on your lips and nod. “Thanks. Or whatever.”
Satoru sighs and sounds serious now. “I am sorry that we had to leave the bar. Maybe we can make it up for Shoko’s birthday, hm? You two can go out and celebrate together.”
Without any other option, you nod. “Yeah. I’ll tell her about it.” You exhale and begin to notice how close you’re getting to the black veil. “At least the entire day wasn’t ruined though. I had a good day up until now. Breakfast with you and my five children was good…even if it was late,” you mumble and shoot him daggers.
Satoru chuckles and doesn’t add anything in that respect.
“So I’m grateful,” you finish in a whisper
“Good.”
You hum and just as you’re about to reach the veil you both come to a stop. “I’ll see you in there then,” you force yourself to change the subject before you want to ramble on to avoid this insidious problem.
“You know whatever happens in there, when you get out meet up with Yuji,” Satoru interjects as you both watch the black veil as if waiting for something to come out of it. “I don’t know if he’s connected to whatever’s happening here, but people still want him dead, so meet up with him.”
You place your hand on your hip and look down. “You’re acting like you won’t make it out of here.” You mumble.
Satoru scoffs. “It’s just in case things get crazy in there. Precautions.”
“Oh? You take those?” You ask sarcastically.
“I’ll meet up with you when I can, all right? So say you understand.”
You exhale deeply and roll your head up to meet his gaze with an assuring look. “Understood.” You reassure him.
Satoru nods and steps back. “It’s 8:30, I want to see you inside at 8:40.”
“I want to see you at 8:40!” You counter lightheartedly. “You’re the late one. Like this morning.”
Satoru scoffs. “8:40, or I’ll beat you up. Don’t care if it’s your birthday.”
You scrunch your nose with discontent and hum. And now without wasting another second, in the blink of an eye, he zips away. Now you have to go through the veil alone.
So much for a joyful birthday.
“Fuck this,” you grumble and let out a deep breath before you walk to the edge of that stupid veil. When you’re close you hesitantly reach for it with your hand.
And the moment the tip of your fingers touch the cold gooey texture you wait and stare at the black shield with discontent.
You’re not supposed to be here. You’re fucking semi-retired. You should be at home! Damn it!
You draw in another deep breath and finally step inside. Once you see the fucking calamity of people you huff out and groan.
A hood at this very moment would be excellent. But no, you didn't think of including one in your outfit. Now you’ll be recognized for sure. Damn it. Damn, damn!
Whatever, there’s nothing you can do about it now but keep your head low and push through.
Of course, as you do push towards the center where a second veil is trapping non-sorcerers inside and holding whoever is looking for you both, people begin to recognize you when they manage to catch glimpses of you. You do your best to ignore them and keep yourself to the least crowded sides.
Alas more and more people recognize you and those who do have genuine interest, and those who just want a picture for likes, begin to follow you and crowd you, so you begin to run to avoid having them distract you and escape through a backdoor in the station.
That’s one thing you can be grateful for that the school provided for you, knowledge of secret entrances through buildings and stations!
You imagine there’ll be more people, but for now, you’re in the clear.
Or at least you thought so, because just as you were about to exit the building and walk out to the tunnel, you hear footsteps approaching, so you stop and wait. In case it’s some enemy then you’ll fight them, if it’s another sorcerer or a starstruck fan then you’ll shoo ‘em away.
“Go away,” you break the silence as the footsteps find you and stop a few paces away from you. “Or I’ll make you.”
“Y/N.”
No.
You spin around on your heels and come face to face with Nanako and Mimiko.
“Wh…” you gasp and take long strides to reach them and grab them forcefully by the shoulders. “What are you two doing here? Go home!” You say without any sense of endearment. “Now!”
Nanako pulls her arm away from your grip and rebuttals for her and her sister. “No, we…” she pauses and glances at Mimiko nervously and then looks back at you and continues. “We want to help you, we’re old now. We know how to fight, we came to help.”
You shake your head and push them back. “No,” you counter sharply. “I don’t want your help, I have enough help. Go home, go to sleep, and when you wake up I’ll be there. Just go home.”
Nanako digs her heels in the ground and swats your hand off her before taking your other hand off Mimiko to argue back. “No! We’re not going home, and if you find some way to make us then we’ll come back because the truth is that we want to help you.”
You blink with surprise and swallow back nervously.
“We just want to help you,” Mimiko adds softly. “Geto and you taught us a lot. We’re strong because of the two of you. So we can do this, trust us just like how you trusted us last year.”
You step back and drop your head to let out a frustrated breath and think.
You did trust them last year, but the curses that invaded the streets were under Suguru’s control and they worked with the twins. There may not be curses here now, but there’s a chance they’ll appear, and they don’t work for them this time. This time whatever is here won't spare them because they’re young just like how they would’ve been spared last year by the opposing side. They’re in real danger now.
But they’re right, they’ll come back if you send them away and they’ll probably face more danger because of it, so…
You have to trust them. You have to trust that they’ll do the right thing and be smart. You have to let them spread their wings so they can learn to fly on their own.
So if they want to help then you’ll let them. You’ll trust them.
“Fine,” you sigh and face them. “Fine. But get out of here and wait if there’s trouble. Don’t get in the way, and run. There’s nothing wrong with running away, okay? Go home and just let me know. Yes?”
Nanako and Mimiko share a surprised look before they smile at each other and then at you.
“We will,” Mimiko assures you.
You draw out a nervous deep breath and walk over to them to embrace them. “Be careful. Keep your phone on, and answer me when I call.”
The twins wrap their arms around you and you squeeze them tighter against you.
“You be careful too,” Nanako says. “Don’t be stupid.”
You laugh softly. “Yeah, I’ll try not to be. You don’t be stupid either.”
“You’ve taught us to be better,” Mimiko praises you.
You smile and pull back to take one more look at them. “Careful. Run. Get out of the way, and if there’s trouble and you can’t reach me and need help, call Nanami. Or one of the kids, you became friends with Nobara, Fushiguro, and Itadori, they’ll be more than happy to help. Okay?”
Mimiko nods and you return the nod and step back. “I’m late to meet up with my brother, so I’ll trust that you will get out of the station. Be careful, and I love the two of you.” You shoot them one last smile before you turn and jog out to the tunnel.
Now back to this mess. Fuck. It, or whatever the fuck better be here.
And your gut better be right, you’re just following your gut as you jog through this dimly lit tunnel. Whatever invited you here could be anywhere through the second veil you easily passed through.
And! No curse better jump out while you’re in the dark.
Please no, please no, you keep muttering to yourself until you hear voices echoing as you approach the light at the end of the tunnel. And as you get closer you make out your brother, thankfully.
However, before you can be seen, or heard, you change your jog to a stride and stop just before you can step out of the shadows to examine the area.
You see your brother. He’s too tall not to spot right away. He’s going on about something you tune out for now.
You also see that tall and white curse that has twigs for eyes, the nature curse, or whatever. Next to it is volcano head, the curse Satoru said he beheaded. And next to volcano head is a person. Not a curse, an actual person.
He’s new and has not been mentioned by Satoru, or reported by the students. He’s not patch face either; this guy lacks blue hair and that raggedy black shirt Itadori said he wears.
No, this guy across from you is wearing a robe underneath a tight purple vest thing that covers his robe and sinches his waist. This guy has dark brown hair and wears buns on his head. This guy is new. And this guy is turning his head!
Shit, shit!
You back up, but his brown eyes still meet your gaze hidden in the shadows. This guy…this guy with a black mark over his nose, and light purple circles over his small eyes notices you first. You’re basked by the shadows of the tunnel, but he still sees you. And as he keeps his tired-looking gaze on you, you see his thin eyebrows furrow, and his eyes slowly narrow on you, and your heart suddenly skips a beat.
He doesn’t say anything though, he slowly begins to turn his body, and you stay there and hold his gaze as you feel as if you’re unable to move from your spot. The thought that he’s mesmerizingly attractive crosses your mind, but maybe that’s because you need to get laid; it’s been too long.
Whatever the case, you ignore the thought and your crazy beating heart and finally find the will to move and step out of the shadows. Without letting go of that guy's dark and threatening gaze the entire time.

I'm too tired for a proper introduction. I don't like yoshiki's dad and how he's being portrayed in the manga.
Before ch25, the most we see of yoshiki's dad is from the hgsn light novel’s bonus chapter, wherein we get a lot of focus on the disparity between parental roles and how mothers are expected to care solely for the children while fathers are expected to work for the family. Like that's the problem with their relationship: Yoshiki’s mom wants her husband to *care* about their kids and Yoshiki’s father thinks that solely because he’s their father that the amount of care he’s showing (almost none) is acceptable. She goes up to him, asks if he thinks it's okay that Kaoru isn't going to school, and he just further pushes the responsibility onto her by telling her that surely as Kaoru’s mother she knows best. She presses more for his opinion, and he continues to refuse to think about it, becoming frustrated when she pushes back to the point that when the argument is done he’s hitting tables and slamming doors like a child because talking to his wife 'annoys' him so much.
And the thing is that Yoshiki's mom still currently works. She has a job and is expected to do all the housework and decision making for the kids on top of that, and Yoshiki's dad is the one who is stubbornly clinging to these typical roles because it's upsetting for him when it's pointed out that he's failing as a parent. His wife is practically begging him to care, and he just refuses.
(And it makes sense the disparity gets focused on here because Len didn’t write it.)
ANYWAY, looking at this, it makes perfect sense why Yoshiki doesn't want to talk to his dad. His dad doesn't want to talk to him, slams doors when he gets confronted with the idea he may have to *think* about his kids, and so, if Yoshiki's dad wants to be absent from Yoshiki's life, Yoshiki wants him to be absent too- in all forms. From the moles he's inherited to the supposed similarities between them, Yoshiki wants nothing to do with him.
(There's a misconception going around that Yoshiki's dad beats him. This is from a mistranslation of the light novel; Yoshiki's dad only hits objects. Feel free to write him however you want tho, I know I hardly stick to canon lol. I just wanted to preemptively avoid ppl informing me of that)
But if you’ve only read the manga, then why doesn’t Yoshiki like his father? He… knocked over a glass once maybe? Looked real pathetic getting yelled at? Grabbed Yoshiki’s arm and said some vague stuff about the unuki. In the past people told Yoshiki he was like him. That's what we got of Yoshiki's dad before ch25.
Then in ch25, Yoshiki's dad is some like... idfk? Pathetic little guy who wants to spend time with his family but he doesn't feel like he has a place to belong in the house :( I mean sure he's clearly in the house at a normal time when everyone else is in the house so it's not like he's working insane hours and can never see them, but didn't you know he's so scared of his wife :(((( and look he's actually not a bad parent cuz one time he read Yoshiki a book, and he's got an artistic side cuz he wanted to be a novelist, and he's such a funny little clumsy guy :) also he's got himself a little family tree with daddy issues of his own :))
I'd almost entertain that this is him putting up an act around yoshiki like yoshiki's mom says, but it's pretty unlikely from what we see of him in extras. Len wants us to see him as a person who just struggles to assert himself and that's what causing the breakdown of the family, not what the light novel presents where he asserts himself with his actions, and what he's saying he doesn't care about the family.
It's just kind of frustrating because I liked the examination in the light novel, highlighting the flaws in what’s assumed as a normal family dynamic in Japan, and I think it perfectly fits the themes HGSN explores with maintaining flawed traditions that only work on the surface. In turn what we’ve got in the manga is just… muddled and weird.

Since we're going by the logic of Jikook are not seen in public together = they have broken up, then my sister's relationship with her husband, who she has a literal child with, is FAKE, because I never see them in public!!!!!! They don't go out! So fake! Outrageous! How ABSURD it is for a long-term couple to want PRIVACY!!!! How dare my sister go out with me/be seen with me in public and not her boyfriend! How dare she have other people in her life!
How even more FLABBERGASTING that a worldwide famous long-term couple living in a homophobic country want to hang out in a totally safe and private way for them! It doesn't matter that their career could end and they could even be arrested, and it doesn't matter that photos of them on white day were leaked, exposing them in an intimate moment, and it doesn't matter that their names were on Dispatch's list, together with other couples that admitted they were together.
HOW DARE Jungkook and Jimin not make out in front of the cameras for us???? How dare Jungkook and Jimin try to protect their privacy after so many leaked pictures and all the stalking?
That's how stupid y'all wishy washy Jikookers and taekookers sound. Babes do you REALLY think Jungkook and Jimin always tell us truth? Do you really think they tell us EVERYTHING that goes on in their lives?
Shouldn't y'all take Taennie as an example? They were going out for God knows how long and they were NEVER spotted. Sure, leaked pictures here and there, which Jikook also have, but they've never seen in public together, either.
It's time y'all use the brains god gave you. Don't be scared of it, yeah? USE IT.
Do you really think they tell us EVERYTHING?
I wanna talk about this. This goes out to the holier than though Jikookers out there who judge us other Jikookers who still believe that the JM on JK's hand is for Jimin.
Anon I agree with you 1013%. Please allow me to hijack your post an address this topic.
Okay so JK went live and said the J stands for Jungkook. Right. I ended up in report pages for saying this on twitter but I will say it again. How many people do you know that tattoo their own names on themselves? No seriously. How many? I said even the most narcissistic person wouldn't do this and I got blocked and reported. But it's true. JK is not a narcissist, far from it even. He has a big heart and loves those around him and loves us Army even when we don't deserve it. That man did not tattoo his name on himself. That's point number 1.
Point 2. Who tf calls him J? He calls himself JK, members call him JK. Everyone calls him JK. The only member we've heard tell us to call him J was Jhope and I think that was "Jay"
Point 3 and what I wanna talk about. No, I'm not calling JK a liar. I am calling him an omiter. He ommited the truth. The point of him explaining the tattoos I believe was to debunk the V/A. Which he did, thank God. But I digress.
Being a Jikooker is based on deducing and analysing. Listening to them, watching them and concluding they're together. They have never outright told us. Alright?
Jimin said, he bit JK.
Tumblr media
Jikookers said it was a hickey. Because its right by the mole. Because it didn't fade. Because there were no teeth marks. Okay. Fine. But why do we believe the J stands for Jungkook, but we won't believe when Jimin said he bit JK and no shenanigans were involved?
Jungkook said he goes to Jimin's hotel room because its closer.
Tumblr media
Jikookers said it was a lie. He goes because he wants to spend time with Jimin. And he doesn't just sit there for hours and do nothing. He was lying. So why do we believe the J stands for Jungkook, but we won't believe he went to Jimin's room out of convenience?
Jungkook said Jimin wasn't the main model of GCF.
Tumblr media
Jikookers said that can't possibly be true because JK highlights Jimin in all the videos and Jimin always gets the most screentime. Okay. So why do we believe the J stands for Jungkook, but we won't believe when he said Jimin wasn't his main model?
JK said he always sleeps in Jihope's room because his bed is uncomfortable.
Tumblr media
Jikookers said nah, JK just likes sleeping with Jimin. JK sleeps in that room because he's dating Jimin. They had enough money to get JK a better mattress, so that was clearly just an excuse. So why do we believe the J is for Jungkook, but we didn't believe when he said his own bed was uncomfortable?
JK said he's always recording Jimin because Jimin is always around
Tumblr media
Jikookers said that wasn't true because anytime JK has a camera, more often than not he's pointing it at Jimin. Even when sometimes Jimin doesn't notice. So clearly JK was lying. Right? So why do we believe the J is for Jungkook, but we didn't believe JK's reason for why he's always filming Jimin?
Have i made my point yet???
Tumblr media
"The J stands for Jungkook, JK said so."
Be quiet.
If you believe that then you might as well stop believing in Jikook rn because these mofos have never told us they were gay for eo. We concluded that after mountains of suspicious moments and unexplainable sexual tension. We concluded. They didn't tell us.
And if you wanna still believe in Jikook then get off your fucking high horse where you nitpick what to buy and judge those of us who wanna believe in the JM tattoo or Jikook numbers or Jikook dropping eo off at the airport. There are clearly levels of Jikookery but everyone needs to stay in their lane and stop judging. You just come off looking like a fucking hypocrite. We don't all have to think or see things the same way.
The JM stands for Jimin. Otherwise he would have left his tattoos like this.
Tumblr media
Rant over. I'm done. But I needed to get that off my chest. Anyway, Jikook is real. Amen.
Support Jikook for clear skin

After letting out your feelings in the park, you went home with a heavy heart. You don't want to face your sister and Sungmin but you have to get things clear.
"Omo, where did you go honey?"
Your mom asked you as you stepped into the house, your sister's friends have left and the house is pretty empty now.
"I just went out to take a breather... Don't worry mom..."
You said as you let out a small smile to signal that you are okay.
"Okay... I hope you're feeling better honey..."
Your mom knows your feelings for Sunghoon and she was also shocked to see Sungmin with your sister just now.
"Yes... Don't worry mom..."
"Where's eonnie?"
"Oh, she's at the backyard with Sunghoonnie..."
"Okay... I'll go find her mom..."
Your mom gave you a little pat alon the shoulder and went back to cleaning up the house.
You went to the backyard and saw your sister and Sungmin sitting on the swing while looking lovey dovey.
You can't take it ... You really can't... The sight of a guy so similar to Sunghoon, hugging your sister makes you feel so hurt.
"Oh? Y/nnie..."
Your sister saw you and Immediately stood up from the swing.
She walked towards you and stood Infront of you.
"Are you feeling better?"
You nodded a little but still the hurt feelings still lingers in your heart.
"Eonnie... Are you sure he is not Sunghoon...? They look too similar!"
"Y/n... Everything thing is possible, he might be Sunghoon's twin, since you know, Sunghoon is adopted... There's a possibility..."
You looked at Sungmin who was standing behind your sister.
You carefully scanned his face and notice the exact same moles on Sunghoon's face.
"Even if they are twins, how can they have the exact same mole? Twin's can't look exactly the same..."
"What's your point here Y/n?"
You sister started to sound annoyed.
"What if I can prove that he is Sunghoon... Will you... Will you break up with him?"
You know you sound a little rude here, but you really cannot bare seeing him and your sister together...
*Slap*
"Y/n!"
Jungwon quickly held you as you stumble back from the slap.
"Are you crazy? You just can't bare to see me happy right? You know I don't easily fall in love... And now that I finally do, you want me to give up?"
"Even if he is Park Sunghoon, I will not break up with him Y/n."
Your heart was hurting more than the slap.
"But eonnie... You know that... You know that..."
Your words got stuck at your throat.
You never told Sunghoon about your feelings... And now that he is standing infront of you, you can't bring yourself to say your feelings for him.
"Know what? Know that you like Sunghoon?"
"Like I said, he is not Sunghoon... This is a fact and final. I don't want to hear anything from you anymore. "
Your sister said and walked away living you, Jungwon and Sungmin in the backyard.
You were sobbing quietly while holding on to your cheeks where your sister slapped you.
"Mr Park, done watching the show? You may leave now."
Jungwon's tone was hostile...
"Please take care of her. "
Sungmin said and left.

[Jungwon's pov]
*Slap*
When I saw Yena(y/n's sister) slapped Y/n, I immediately went up to Y/n and held her in place so she doesn't fall from the impact.
I shot a death glare at Yena but I didn't fail to catch Park Sungmin's action.
He also wanted to come forward to help Y/n but stoped himself suddenly..
I raised my eyebrows at the sight but didn't bother much as Y/n is more important now.
I heard the conversations between Y/n and Yena.
"Know what? Know that you like Sunghoon?"
When Yena said that, my breath hitched.
I knew that Y/n had feelings for the Sunghoon guy from the way that she tells me things about him.
But she had never admit.
Now that Yena said it, I can't help but to feel hurt and betrayed.
"Why am I always not her first choice..."
I can't help but to think...
I have been beside Y/n for 7 years... Definitely more than that Park Sunghoon... But why... Why can't I ever get into her heart?
While in deep thought, I also realised the shock on Sungmin's face.
Suddenly... I thought came to my mind.
"What if... He is Park Sunghoon...?"
I started to panic... If he is really Park Sunghoon, that means Y/n will go away from me...
No... That can't happen...
I have to stop this... I need to make sure this man will not cause any threats to me...
Tumblr media
[Author's pov]
After the unpleasant incident with your sister, you went back to your room with Jungwon.
"Y/n... Are you okay? I'll get some ice for you okay?"
Jungwon said a got up, but you held his hand and stopped him.
"It's okay... I'm okay..."
You said and you sniffled.
Jungwon's heart hurt seeing you cry.
"Y/n... See what you did to yourself..."
Jungwon let out a huge sigh.
"Y/n... Hear me out... Just forget about him... This is ruining your relationship with your sister..."
Jungwon tried to convince you.
"I want some time alone Jungwon..."
You didn't want to talk about this at this time. You really need some time to clear your mind.
Jungwon bit his inner cheeks to calm himself down.
"Okay... Rest well, I'll come again tomorrow... "
He left your room and you are all alone now.
After your room's door was shut, you let out all your emotions you have been hiding.
You covered your face with your hands as you cried.
It hurts... It really hurts...
You don't want to ruin the relationship with your sister, but at the same time, you can't stand seeing the guy you love with your sister.
Even though now you can't prove that he is Sunghoon, but in your heart, you already confirmed that he is Sunghoon and you will do anything to prove that to your sister.
Tumblr media
[Sunghoon's pov]
After the fight, I didn't leave Yena's house immediately.
I was sitting in my car just aimlessly sitting there not knowing what to do.
"Aish... This is so annoying..."
I messed my hair in frustration.
I sat in the car for about 15 minutes while thinking about what had just happened...
"She got hit because of me..."
"It's so stupid that I can't even protect her from this small thing..."
I felt really bad and useless...
After awhile, I saw Jungwon coming out of the house. Without thinking, I immediately went out of the car and walked towards Jungwon.
"Why are you still here?"
Jungwon's tone was unfriendly, as if he didn't want me to be here.
"How is Y/n?"
"I don't think that is any of your business right?"
Jungwon raised his eyebrow and looked at me with a questioning look.
"I just want to make sure that she's okay... After all, I was the cause of it."
"If you really feel bad, then you should away from her, never appear infront of her anymore."
"What?"
"You heard that right, Mr Park... "
Jungwon said as he glared at me.
"Mr Yang... I don't think this is how you treat you client right?"
"Well, we are not in the company now... And I think Mr Park can distinguish between public and private affairs right?"
I smirked at his words and took step forward.
"Of course I can... But it's whether I want to or not."
Jungwon didn't seem to be intimidated by me, and took a step even closer.
"Well, I don't really care... All I care is that YOU, stay away from Y/n..."
"You like her don't you?"
I said and smirked after seeing Jungwon freeze on his spot upon hearing my words.
He took a step back and said.
"That's none of your concern Mr Park."
He said and tried to walk away but I continued.
"Sss... But from what I heard... She liked someone else... Seems like... You got no chance."
I purposely provoked him and successfully did.
"Shut up you bastard."
He said and grab me by my collar.
"Tsk tsk... Mr Yang... You are too violent... How would Y/n react if she sees you like this...?"
"Stop provoking me Park Sungmin... You don't know what I can do."
"I would like to see it... Mr Yang Jungwon... Or should I say, Mr J?"
I said and felt a sense of satisfaction seeing the shock look on Jungwon's face.
"How do you know me?"
"That's not important... What's important is, I know your things... So think twice before you want to act big Infront of me.."
"How would Y/n react if she knows her friend is a Mafia boss, someone who kills without even blinking his eyes? I'm worried for her safety now."
"You don't have to worry, I will never hurt her. You should be worried about yourself."
Jungwon shove me away and gave me a glare before leaving the place.
"I have to stop Y/n from getting to close to him... He is too dangerous..."
I thought to myself and got in the car and drove off.

prologue | masterlist | two
Yoon Jeonghan was a person whom you can't forget. You let yourself relish his new appearance. Long gone was the long slick hair he sported back in college. His short haircut with his bang fringes poking his eyes made him look somewhat younger. His cheeks are more defined than you can remember, and his bright doe eyes that were healthy before now have bags underneath, finally noticing the mole you adorned long ago.
It seems that he did the same, as his lips narrowed open, shock still painted on his face as his eyes traveled around your face. The only thing that woke you two up from your daydream was, "Dada!" Two of the kids ran towards Jeonghan to hug him by his legs.
Stumbling a bit from the impact, his eyes lingered a bit longer from you before turning his attention to the two children, crouching down to hug them and mumble a few words.
Blinking a few more times, let it sink in that the two children that ran towards you and your dog were, Jeonghan's children. A small smile formed on your lips, "You're a dad now, huh?" You softly said, still wearing the small smile as you locked eyes with him again.
"They're twins, Yuna and Yejun. They're turning four this year." He replies, standing up again whilst holding both on his sides. Your eyes then drifted to the two, taking a closer look. Knowing that these were his children, you were suddenly intrigued to see who they took after.
You were guessing that you were staring at the twins a bit longer than you intended as you heard Jeonghan introduce you as one of their aunts. "Hi! You guys still want to touch her?" Pointing to your dog, piquing their attention again. You saw both of them look up to Jeonghan, asking for permission before running towards your crouching figure to pet your dog, Manju.
You still held your dog by its snout, letting the children pet his body. "Is that..?" You could tone of hesitance in his voice. Without meeting his eyes, "It's her daughter, she passed a year ago." Whilst shaking your head, quickly patting Manju's head making it lean to your hand, wanting more.
"Oh," You watched the two children giggling to themselves as they kept on patting your dog's body which Manju enjoys, noticing the rapid wag of her tail with each stroke that the twins make.
"She looks just like her," Jeonghan mumbles, making you slightly jolt from your position as you didn't notice him crouching down next to you to pat Manju's head.
"She acts like her too. Not that much of a people pleaser dog." You joked, hearing him chuckle again after how many years. "Then I guess Michi must've told her about me then." He softly says, making you look at him.
Michi, - your current dog, Manju's, mother - you and Jeonghan's lovebug. Just the mention of your passed dod makes your heart swell and Jeonahan's presence makes it a lot worse. You felt tears building up in your eyes, causing you to break free from Jeonghan's eyes.
You still weren't over grieving from the loss of your best friend. She was the only one who stayed with you from that dreadful college years up to your med school. She stayed longer than anyone could have, and that's why you weren't done grieving even if she was already gone for a year. "Dada," One called, capturing both of your attention.
It's somehow sweet that someone you knew is now being called like that. So sweet and soft, enough to you feel blue. How would it feel to be called by your child? You thought.
"I'm sorry, Y/N, I have to go. I still have some stuff to unpack. We just moved here in the city." Is Jeonghan effortlessly picking up both his kids, "Moved? Here?" You asked, quite shocked at the news. As far as you remember, he moved to a larger city to pursue law. Was he retired?
"Yeah," Sporting a smile that you remembered like the back of your hand, "See you around?" He adds, walking away from you.
You suddenly felt a wave of emotions rushing through your body. You didn't even have the chance to bid him goodbye as you were too busy relishing the smile he wore before he walked away.
It must be the nostalgia, making you feel emotions you thought were long gone. Seeing him again after a few years, with his own little family made you happy. Finally seeing him smile again after you broke his heart when you walked away from him that night.
“I’m telling you Seungcheol, I didn’t know she lived here!” Jeonghan dramatically says through the phone as he folded their clean clothes to store it in their closet.
“I’m not even saying anything! It’s you who’s overreacting, not me!” Rolling his eyes, “Oh you fucker, don’t get me started with your scoffs and stifled laughs!” Sighing, Jeonghan was left hopeless upon hearing his friend’s laughter echo through the room.
“Can you shut the fuck up? My children are asleep.” Jeonghan had his lips curved into an annoyed smirk, “I can see you glaring from here ya’ know?”
“On the brighter side, isn’t it nice to have a familiar face in an unfamiliar environment? Plus, you could ask Y/N to babysit the twins on October,” Seungcheol finally calmed down, giving Jeonghan a few grounded words.
“I think you don’t get the whole concept of ‘let’s not see each other again’ here, Choi Seungcheol.” He could hear his friend groaning on the full name, “Dumbass! She meant it to be - not being in a relationship! Not - literally not! Seeing! Each other! So much for topping the boards,” Jeonghan heard the last part but paid no attention. He knows that too. That you didn’t mean it to literally not see each other’s face. But at that time, he had no face to meet you even if you were the one who called it off. Too hurt to even see you from afar. Too bruised to even hear from you.
“I also don’t think were in a relationship where I can just ask her to babysit my twins because unfortunately, my first day of work is on my birthday!” Jeonghan can imagine Seungcheol shaking his head at him. “I also don’t have her number.” There was a long stretch of silence before he could hear Seungcheol’s sigh.
“Y/N, she didn’t changed her number. I’m sure you still have it.” Having his breath hitched, he stopped functioning for a while, “Don’t be such a sussy Han, it’s all in the past. Besides, you got married. All your unresolved feelings for Y/N should either be gone or just waiting to be answered.”
“Yeah. I guess so.”
Sweat running down your forehead as you reached your kitchen’s counter top, almost flopping yourself just to reach the fridge. Not even minding to get a glass to pour water on. You don’t know why embarrassment is only hitting you now. How embarrassing on acting so casual with someone you left in the dark, as if you didn’t leave him hanging during your third year on college.
Wiping your lips that had excess water dripping down to your chin, you had your gaze hardened on the wall. How can he possibly talk to you when he avoided you at all cost after the breakup? Even hearing from his friends that he would always change the topic when it somehow swerved to you.
Just then, you heard your phone ding, immediately checking just in case it was a text from the hospital.
Heaving a sigh, you quickly typed in ‘otw’, scurrying away to your room to fix yourself before going back to the hospital.
“Doc, we’ve already calmed him down. His vitals are slowly coming back to normal.” The nurse informed you as you briskly walked towards the said patient’s warden. You just nodded in acknowledgment, slowly forgetting the incident earlier.
Being an general doctor was a pain, especially if most of your current patients are alcoholic. No matter how many nags and warnings you told them, they just don’t listen. Now, one of your patients who recently received a liver from his daughter went on a drinking spree. Now that his his newly transplanted liver almost gave up, you can feel stress working up its way to your head - almost giving you migraine like headaches just by the thoughtless behavior the old man lying on the bed portrayed.
The door swings open, gaining your attention, you then saw the wife and their daughter and you can’t help but feel bad for them. They just paid hundred thousands just to pay the hospital bills from the surgery and now, their patriarch had a surge of major side effects from the alcohol content he consumed.
“He consumed too much alcohol, that the liver almost gave up since it was still adjusting with his body. Good thing he was brought here immediately. He’s already stable. He needs to be monitored for a span of two weeks at least, just to make sure his liver won’t act out again.” You explained sternly to the family who only nodded and kept thanking you for saving the man again.
Heaving a big sigh as you closed the door to the room, you held your head, trying to rub the pain out. “Did you even sleep?” A familiar voice chirped beside you, “What do you think?” You said sarcastically before making your way to the headquarters.
“Judging by the way you tried to rub your temples and your mean attitude, you didn’t even sleep a wink with your uhm,” You could hear him counting in a small voice, “Three hours free time.” Halting, you quickly turned to him, making his squinted eyes go round.
“Did you know Jeonghan had kids?” You genuinely asks. The latter furrowed his brows, searching any other reaction from you. “Yeah..” Still trying to see if you’d react in any way other than relief washing down your face.
“Glad he found someone that’ll take care of him.” You said with a smile. You were about to turn when you halted from his words, “You.. Did you not know?” Confusion then etched both your faces.
“Know what, Hoshi?” He pursed his lips, contemplating whether to tell you or not, “What ‘cha guys doin’?” Dino’s voice erupted from your back. Dino noticed Hoshi’s panicking gaze but you didn’t remove your eyes on the latter.
You felt Dino’s presence beside you but you paid no attention to him, “Hoshi, what is it?” You asked again, more curious and fraught on his answer.
“What is what?” Dino joined causing you to whip his head to him. “What do you know about Jeonghan?” You asked him, catching him off-guard.
“I just know he moved here in the city, and he’s planning to start working here on October.” Furrowing your brows more, “What’s this about? Why’re you suddenly asking things about him?” You were too lost in your thoughts to answer him.
Didn’t he want to pursue law? Why would he work here at the hospital? Or will he work here as a legal guidance? Legal advisor? Didn’t he go to larger city so he could expand his connections?
Dino was now frowning at you, looking towards Hoshi with a questioning look. The latter shrugged and shook his head, also unaware of her sudden interest towards Jeonghan.
You raised you head again, now looking to Dino who had his one brow raised, already knowing what you’re going to ask, “You didn’t asked. And we thought you wouldn’t like to hear any news from him. Be it good or bad.”
“Yeah. Totally learned my lesson that one time.” Hoshi added. You frowned at your two friends - who was unfortunately, friends with Jeonghan also.
You and Jeonghan weren’t in the same circle before, it just happened that your friends and his friends clicked that much for it to become one. You still were in contact with some of his friends, but you took courtesy of not asking things about him and they respected that by not sharing anything too, without you asking.
“I met him earlier at the park. Also met his twins. He casually talked to me, and it made me feel anxious. He wasn’t like that when I last heard from him, wasn’t he angry anymore?” You ranted, lying on the bed as you munched your caramelized popcorn.
“Maybe? It’s been like what? Seven years? It must’ve dried out during those past years.” Closing his book before turning to face your lying body on the bunk bed. “Besides Y/N, why are you so worried about him working here? Do you not want him to be here that much?”
“No, its not that. It’s just, Wonwoo, I inflicted pain, he should be angry!” You kept refuting the same thing over and over again.
“Y/N, if there’s anything that he’ll feel about you, anger is far from it. He’s healed from the pain, he learned and he moved on. I’m sure his wife took care of him well. Isn’t that what you want? Someone to take good care of him?” You halted from Wonwoo’s words. You couldn’t help but look at the bed above you, letting out a smile as you imagined Jeonghan being taken care of well.
As soon as you felt tears suddenly welling up on your eyes, you did your best to refrain them from pouring out. “Yeah, I did.” It was so soft, Wonwoo would’ve missed it if there was other noises aside from the aircon’s ringing. “Did you attend his wedding?” You asked, with a softer voice.
Wonwoo was taken aback by the sudden change of demeanor, “..No, I couldn’t. It was during our OB-residency.” He could see you quietly nod and the red tip of your nose. He could sense immense emotions from you, but he kept quiet about it. He knows its something you don’t ever want to talk about. Most likely, you will never talk about it to them, finally knowing Jeonghan had marry already.
