Regressor! Alejandro w/ Caregiver! Heather Headcanons

•Alejandro was extremely nervous to tell Heather about his regression. He thought she would think it was weird or gross.

•Heather didn’t really think it was gross, she just thought it was a bit weird at first. She didn’t understand it that well and wasn’t sure why he did it.

•Alejandro explained to her that it was a coping mechanism from all the trauma he had gone through during his childhood and from being on the show.

•Heather still thought it was weird, but understood it a little more. She didn’t know if she wanted to be involved in the whole thing, which was completely fine with Alejandro. He didn’t want to make her see him regressed if she wasn’t comfortable with it.

•After a couple months, Heather had brought the topic back up and said she wanted to help out with the whole thing. She’d done a lot of research and saw that some regressors had caregivers. She really wanted to be there with him and be supportive.

•The first time Alejandro regressed around her, he was around the age of four years old. He was definitely the sweetest toddler Heather had ever seen. All he wanted to do that day was cuddle with her, which Heather was more than happy to do.

•Once Alejandro grew more comfortable regressing around Heather, he would end up regressing younger with her.

•The first time he went into babyspace with her, was also the first time he had ever called her “Mama”.

•It was a complete accident, Alejandro was too young and far in his headspace to realize what he was doing. All he knew was that he wanted his Mama.

•It happened when Heather had left him alone to get his bottle. Alejandro had started crying while repeating the word “Mama” until she finally came back.

•Heather felt mixed emotions about the new title. She thought it was sweet that he thought of her as a motherly figure while he was little, but the way he was crying while saying it broke her heart.

•Once Alejandro was back in his normal headspace, they talked about the whole nickname. Heather was completely fine with it, so it just stuck. That’s what Alejandro refers to her as whenever he’s small.

•Heather’s really good at telling what Alejandro wants/needs whenever he starts crying. His cries have some differences whenever he’s regressed back to a baby, so she knows exactly what they mean. She knows when he’s hungry, thirsty, bored, needs changing, sleepy, etc.

•Heather loves dressing Alejandro up in cute outfits. Sometimes she takes forever to find an outfit for the day because they all looks so cute on him. He goes through a lot of outfits during the day because of this.

•Alejandro is very clingy, and just wants to be around Heather at all times. He’s constantly following her around like a little puppy.

•Alejandro loves being picked up and carried around, which Heather can do, just for short periods of time. She can’t carry him around constantly, he’s bigger than her so it’s a bit of a challenge. But she does carry/hold him as much as she can.

•Heather always uses pet names for him. The ones she uses the most are “Baby”, “Baby boy”, “Pumpkin”, “Angel”, “Honey”, and “Sweetheart”.

•Heather praises Alejandro constantly. She knows he needs it, due to the lack of praise from his parents. Every time Alejandro gets praised for something, even if it’s something small, he always gets so happy and giggly.

•Alejandro has a lot of nightmares/flashbacks about when he was in the robot. Heather’s always there to help comfort him and get him calmed down whenever it happens.

•One of Alejandro’s favorite ways to show affection is by giving Heather pacifier kisses. Every time they’re cuddling, Heather always feels Alejandro giving her a kiss on the cheek with his paci in his mouth. She genuinely thinks it’s the cutest thing ever.

•If Alejandro’s teeny tiny, he loves pulling on Heather’s hair. He doesn’t mean to hurt her or anything, that’s just another way he shows his love and appreciation.

•But every time he is that small, Heather always puts her hair up. So instead of pulling her hair, he’ll just tug at her shirt while squealing and giggling.

•Alejandro can be a very, very giggly baby. Sometimes, the entire time he’s regressed, he’ll just giggle the entire time. Mainly because Heather keeps doing/showing him stuff that makes him laugh.

•Alejandro needs a lot of reassurance, especially while he’s regressed. Heather doesn’t mind giving him almost hour long talks about how important and special he is. She just wants him to be happy.

•Since Alejandro regresses so young, he’s prone to having accidents every now and then. He was incredibly embarrassed about it at first, and he still is just not as bad, but Heather doesn’t care. She doesn’t make fun of him or tease him in anyway. She’ll help him get changed and cleaned up, then comfort him until he feels better.

•If Alejandro’s in an “older” headspace and feels comfortable with it, Heather will take him out to go shopping for new toys.

•Heather really loves taking him anywhere. She mainly takes him out to lesser known areas, such as trails so he can get out of the house and explore new places.

•Heather isn’t the best when it comes to dealing with Alejandro’s temper tantrums. She never yells at him or anything like that, but she does get really frustrated and annoyed with them at times.

•When that happens, she’ll just put Alejandro in his timeout area and leave the room until he’s done throwing a fit. She knows it’s probably not the best way to deal with it, but it’s definitely not the worst. Plus, he normally does calm down soon after being put in timeout.

•Alejandro loves making Heather little drawings. He’ll even put glitter glue on most of them because he knows she likes it.

•A lot of the time if Heather has her hair up in a ponytail, Alejandro will whine about how he wants his hair in a ponytail too. He’ll just carry on until his hair is up, just like his Mama’s.

•Alejandro is a very picky eater, in and out of his headspace, but it’s somehow even worse when he’s little. If his food isn’t perfect, he refuses to eat it.

•It’s really difficult to get him to eat well balanced meals. A lot of the time, Heather just has to give him something like fruit, crackers, yogurt, popcorn, etc because he won’t eat anything else.

•Alejandro isn’t a huge fan of sweets when his big, but when he’s small he does enjoy them. He mainly likes chocolate, specifically chocolate chip cookies. So if he’s been very well behaved, Heather will reward him with a cookie.

•He also really likes chocolate milk, which Heather often gives to him in the morning or if he’s had a rough day.

•Sometimes, Alejandro will refuses to eat his food unless Heather feeds him. Heather finds it ridiculous, yet a bit funny at the same time

•Alejandro is very spoiled, but he definitely isn’t a spoiled brat. Heather just really enjoys spoiling him and he’s a very grateful baby.

•If Alejandro’s fussy over nothing, Heather will put him on her lap and start bouncing him up and down. It works nine out of ten times.

•If that doesn’t work, then she’ll lay down on his play mat for tummy time, which does end up calming him down if bouncing him didn’t work.

•Whenever Alejandro wants to play a game, like hide and seek for example, and he’s around the age of two, Heather always has to remember to hide somewhere easy.

•Otherwise if he can’t find her after about a minute, Alejandro will just start sobbing while crying out for her. Poor little guy doesn’t really understand how the game works.

•Heather bought him a shirt that says “Mama’s Boy” on it. She got it for him as a joke, but it’s one of Alejandro’s favorite shirts when he’s regressed. Little Alejandro is a proud mama’s boy.

•Heather has ended up becoming pretty good at understanding Spanish, because on rare occasions when Alejandro regresses, he will only speak Spanish.

•Alejandro makes Heather watch a lot of children’s movies with him because he was always too busy for them when he was a kid.

•Alejandro can be extremely emotional when he’s regressed. Sometimes, he’ll just cry the entire time, and that’s okay. Heather’s always there to keep him company and she’ll just let him cry until he feels better.

okay so it all starts in esmp s1 where pearl has such heavy sun imagery and gem literally builds a moon so that one is pretty obvious

and when we get to hc s8 they literally have matching horses with gem's being named sun and pearl's being named moon

admittedly, hc s9 is more vibes based, but eleven seem so much more sunny to me in contrast to pearl's alien themeing where a large majority of it was trapped underground. most people just associate moon with darkness, so bam gem is sun and pearl is moon

now esmp s2 and this one is tricker than the others. in my head they are both the sun which is why they practically never interact. it's like trying to connect magnets by both of their north poles

sl is an outlier to me where they break this pattern of one being the moon and one being the sun imo. some people believe that pearl is the sun and gem is a sunflower, but i like to think pearl is simultaneously the sun and the moon with gem being akin to icarus. here is a very non structured brainrot post

we finally get to hc s10, and immediately we are hit with 'morning sunshine' from gem. she wants me dead. but also, building off of that pearl went for a very peaceful farmhouse as her starter base with farming normally being associated with daylight/the sun. we have a dredge theme from gem which has a daylight cycle in it, and during the night is really when you start getting the horrors. she already has touches of that (floating fish), so following the logic of that game she has been fishing at night and thus moon

the part that gets me the most is how consistent the themeing is and just how close both of them are. most smps have pretty good evidence for gem and pearl being connected to the sun and moon with a few outliers (looking at you nlsmp)

now time for the actual theorizing, like i mentioned in the esmp s2 bit, it's almost like the sun and moon are opposite poles of a magnet. i don't believe they are soulmates, they can live without the other, but when they are in proximity, you bet that they will be inseparable

so they both have been represented by the sun and moon, and i propose that pearl is the embodiment of light, while gem is the embodiment of void. why do i think that? well, pearl's is the easiest to explain with her saint pearla stuff and how her named both have aspects of light in it. pearlescent describes the surface of an object, and both being able to see if something is pearlescent and to see the moon requires light to bounce back into your eyes

now gem as the void, hear me out. her constant connection to the end/endermen/ender dragon. also the connections of gem and traveling across worlds where the thing in-between them is void (see s9 botem ending). with the most solid piece of evidence being hc s10 where her themeing is ocean/water horrors. and the most common reason people fear the ocean is how vast and unknowing it is. like a void

this is great and all, but how does it link back up with sun and moon? they are opposites of each other and their sun and moon themeing is just one way that is expressed alongside light and void. because of how different they are, it makes them more attached to each other. something something opposites attract

I'll see your Dadphiles AU and raise you "Sonic Prime but Dadphiles". No idea if/how that would work, but it lodged itself into the back of my head and won't leave. Also, when I stumbled across this AU it made me think of "The Monster Underneath Your Bed" by Madame Macabre. If you haven't listened to it, go to YouTube and do it right now.

My joking answer is that Mephiles would put Sonic in time-out for fracturing time and space while he cleaned it all up (Sonic would pout in the corner.)

As for my serious answer… We only have one of creator’s words that Prime is canonical to the games, despite the actual show kind of not reflecting that at all. Since Dadphiles is mainly Games-Canon, I’m gonna Err on the side of caution and say that Prime just doesn’t exist in this AU

However, if it did, I’d place it sometime between Sonic 06 and Sonic Forces. Sonic, Shadow, Silver, and Tails would all be living together, with Silver’s place in the family dynamic still fairly fresh. Shadow wouldn’t have fought Sonic and delayed his arrived at the Paradox Prism, plus Silver and Shadow would likely be able enough to stop their brother before he could shatter the Prism.

However, for the sake of this Thought-Experiment, let’s say they didn’t. Shadow would still Chaos Control while everyone else would be Shattered, this time including Silver. New Yolk!Silver would probably be a mysterious anti-hero—not wanting to work with the Resistance since they’d “slow him down” but still fighting against the Council—while Boscage!Silver would be right there alongside Thorn Rose in protecting the jungle. No Place!Silver… I think it’d be interesting if he’d either being a rival to Dread (as the only one able to see through his BS) or the shy, selectively-mute older brother of Sails who talks enough for both of them and somehow always seems to know what No Place!Silver is “saying”. Maybe even a bit of both.

The rest of Prime would probably go mostly the same, with Shadow being more cooperative and forgiving toward Sonic. Shadow is concerned toward how attached Sonic has gotten to these counterparts of their brothers, particularly Nine. Shadow tries protesting lightly, only for Sonic to break.

“How would you know what Tails is like? Maybe you just didn’t love him enough to get to know him!”

This causes a bit of a rift, with both hedgehogs wrapped up in their own guilt but believing the other won’t forgive them if they said anything. Shadow pushes his suspicions of Nine down while Sonic avoids his brother, unsure how to apologize but also terrified of accidentally hurting Shadow further. The end result of the show would largely remain the same, with Nine betraying them, trying to create his own world, getting defeated, and everything going back to normal with only Shadow and Sonic remembering what happened.

As this all would happened prior to Forces, Solaris would still be shattered and therefore too weak and scattered to actually do anything about this all.

TLDR:

Joke Answer is Sonic would be sent into time-out by Mephiles. True answer is that Prime doesn’t happen in Dadphiles because Sonic wouldn’t be late to the fight and Silver could just stop him with his powers.

Gravel talk got me thinking, do you self-insert as the doctor or do you see them as separate from you the player?

When I'm reading the story where the Doctor is present, I tend to read it from their point of view - so the way I'm feeling will very likely change depending on them. For example, I will feel confused at the start of the story because of amnesia, or scared when in danger... Which made the whole reading part with the Preserver really exhausting in Lone Trail, because I was very much having a mini breakdown from just reading it xD

They certainly are a separate character, with their own backstory and such, and I don't want to say that I am the Doctor. But reading things this way helps a lot for immersion and general understanding to me!

And so about Gravel... Well I haven't read Near Light (I PROMISE one day I will I was just too busy when the rerun dropped, and I haven't read Maria Nearl neither so I was not going to understand anything), but when reading her dialogues, it does make me uncomfortable. Because well, it's just like she's talking to me when I read that, even if she's talking to the Doctor. I don't know how the Doctor feels like at the moment (because well, on characters voice lines they are rarely replying or interacting), but I personally feel uneased.

But funnily, even if I read the story like if I am the Doctor, I tend to not like to think I'm interacting with the story too much. I prefer to see myself as a witness of everything happening rather than playing a huge role. I do have a Doctorsona, and I do enjoy imagining interactions they could have with different characters based on my own experiences with the game (and just as I am obsessed with Liberi, so they are). Basically, see my experience reading the story as a huge roleplay in my head, where I am trying to stay in-character, all the while knowing that the Doctor is their own character.

MCYT Characters: The blurry line between c! and cc! and how it improves story-telling

Something that intrigues me about MCYT series is how the difference between characters and the people who create those characters is a lot less clear than in most media. There's a reason we had to start using c! and cc! when that doesn't happen anywhere else! Because in most books, movies, or TV shows, one writer designs many characters, and actors play an already-created character that they have little to no say over. But in MCYT, each content creator designs and acts one character - and that character isn't totally distinct from themselves, like an actor signing a contract to play a particular part, but more like an extension of themselves. They go by the same name and most of their presence on the internet is as that character. Or is that presence just themselves and the character is like an exaggerated version of themselves? This is where it gets complicated.

In some contexts it's a little easier to tell where the boundary between c! and cc! lies, like on a DSMP lore stream where you know that everyone will be in character. But what about when you have Scar streaming from the Hermitcraft server, for instance? He's himself, the content creator, talking to the viewers and playing Minecraft, but he's also the character interacting with other characters in the world of Hermitcraft. Or what about Twitter? CCs switch rapidly between talking about their irl lives and bantering with other CCs in-character. Most of the time c! and cc! are pretty indistinguishable.

Now, there are ways in which this fusion might be problematic (i.e. shipping discourse), but in general I think it's a really interesting and engaging way of crafting a narrative. Because rather than a writer trying to come up with multiple original characters, then passing them off to different people who design their costumes or act them on out on screen or stage, each cc! has full control over their c!, which I think creates characters that feel more real. It's like starting with a person and building a character off of themselves rather than creating a character out of thin air (although, of course, writers take inspiration from many sources).

The plots of MCYT series also tend to emerge more naturally than other forms of media. Movies and TV shows are written ahead of time and have to cater to what will sell - what they think people will want, which tends to make them more predictable and trope-heavy. Minecraft CCs, on the other hand, have full creative liberty in what personas and plots they'll create in different series - they can take it in whatever direction they want. And while I'm sure there's a lot of planning that goes on behind the scenes, most of the details are improvised. At the end of the day these "characters" are just people interacting with their friends in the ways that feel most natural and enjoyable to them, which makes the series feel natural and enjoyable to the viewer.

An important detail of this is that every character is real and natural. Instead of a few main characters that get to change over the course of the plot and background characters that are only there for their role in the main character's story, we get to see the perspective of every single c! in a series because every cc! is making videos or streams. This makes the storylines a lot more complex and also more subjective, because there's no obvious good guy and bad guy. The Life Series are a perfect example of this, like in Third Life where from Desert Duo's perspective The Red King seems like an evil ruler with a rapidly growing army that will soon snuff out the desert dwellers, but from Dogwarts perspective, Scar and Grian are the antagonists with their monopolies and traps, and the Red Army's just trying to stick together and protect themselves. Every perspective is realistic and understandable, which makes the story more interesting than a simple hero defeats villain plot. In most media you get one perspective - just one, and it's the one the writer or director wants you to see. But with MCYT, where every c! has a cc! behind them, you get to see the story from every side, and suddenly it has so many more layers and so much more to contemplate.

Another advantage of these quasi-characters created by the lack of distinction between c! and cc! is that it leaves a lot of room for viewer interpretation. I, like many others, have gotten very attached to particular characters that speak to me, even if those characters sometimes have very little screen time (Helsknight, I'm looking at you). Regardless of how much the cc! chooses to do with their c!, the fandom gets to take those characters and draw them, write about them, and weave theories about them. And while that absolutely happens for characters from non-Minecraft media, I think we have more freedom with MCYT characters because the characters start off more loosely defined. A book, movie, or TV show is meant to be a self-contained story arc, including a thorough enough explanation of a character's backstory and motives and development and resolution that the reader or viewer feels satisfied - they don't have to do the creative work themselves because everything is presented to them, otherwise the story would feel incomplete. But MCYT doesn't work like that - we don't have a single plot that introduces and develops and resolves one or a few main characters, rather, we have many intertwining plots that leave most of the character up to the viewer's interpretation. Their full "story" has unfolded over years of different videos and streams, but very little of that is necessary to understand the character because you can pay attention to whatever parts you want. A few loyal Etho fans have seen every one of his videos, but most of us haven't, and we can still enjoy watching him and feel like we know him and do what we want with that character. Canon is limited, and flexible, and so fanon has a lot more room to spread its wings.

That flexibility also means that everyone has their own version of the characters, and I don't just mean whether you're a proponent of Watcher!Grian or parrot!Grian; it can be a lot more subtle than that. A character will mean something different to each viewer depending on what content you've seen and what details stood out to you. The freedom to interpret a character how we want to and the diversity of how each of us sees the characters makes this community really enjoyable as we share and inspire and discuss with each other about what the characters mean to each of us. And that means that the characters are constantly changing, both in your own head as you adopt or reject different parts of fanon, and as the cc! continues to embody their c! in new and different ways. There is no end of the story - there's always more videos, more fanart, more ways to understand a character. Dynamic characters are a lot more interesting than static ones, so there's always more to hold your interest.

Personally, I don't watch MCYT for the Minecraft. I don't watch it for the builds or redstone, although those are certainly impressive, and I don't even watch it for the storyline necessarily: what I really watch it for is the people. All of the CCs are amazing people who put a lot of effort into what they do, and we get to benefit from it. It's a lot more fun to watch friends having fun together and creating things they're passionate about than a predictable show some corporate representatives decided would draw an audience. I love how each cc! has their own unique style and vision for their art (because I do believe it's art) that is expressed in their characters, whether a DSMP villain we have to stress is separate from the cc!, a carefully planned Empires ruler with their own aesthetic, or just a Hermit hanging out on the server. Some characters are more closely related to the cc! than others, but all of them are an extension of that person, which I think makes MCYT an incredible story-telling tool unlike any other.

Ok I was re-watching the last scene of ep6 and I feel like the light of understanding dawned on me, how did I miss so much nuance the first few watches??? Aziraphale and Crowley literally were saying 2 different things: Crowley wants to run from Heaven and Hell ("both toxic"),but Aziraphale only understands that he wants to run away as usual, he doesn't understand Crowley loves him (even Crowley didn't realize it until 5 minutes before).

Not at first. That confession is a mess and from a communicative pov, quite a fail. Basically Crowley is saying "we've always been a team, let's keep being a team by running away like Gabe and Beez run away from their responsibilities". That's what Aziraphale understands, he's so confused when Crowley says "We're a group, a team, an us". That has to be the dumbest (affectionate) confession I've ever seen actually, is he confessing or hyping his team right before a big match?

Aziraphale doesn't understand the love behind the "love confession": he probably still thinks Crowley thinks of him as a "friend" and he still wants him by his side. He loves him so much that he is ready to go back to Heaven and offers him what he thinks is the thing Crowley wants the most: become an angel again. From Az's pov, that's the best thing he could ever give him. Crowley, his nice, dear Crowley, finally safe and happy again. They can finally be safe, together, doing good, making a difference. But Crowley is throwing it all to the wind, choosing to stay a demon instead of choosing Aziraphale and "good, light". Az considers himself to be the good in their "us". Crowley is refusing good, Heaven, him. It stings, that refusal, feels like a betrayal of all those 6000 years where they helped and protected each other. Crowley is always saving him, but is refusing to be saved.

"We could have been us, you idiot". Aziraphale doesn't understand, because the kind of us Crowley was proposing was the same thing of 6000 years. Yes, a beautiful agreement, companionship in their loneliness, but also forced to hide from Hell and Heaven so they don't get killed. Hiding, running away, always a breath away from being together, but never together, because they're so fundamentally apart, demon and angel, always separated by this big rift. That for a moment seemed adjustable, but now no more.

He's not expecting a kiss. He's shocked beyond everything imaginable: he loves Austen, sensible romances, people having misunderstandings but in the end, agreeing and seeing it eye to eye, a sensible marriage/union, chosen together over shared goals/ideals. A kiss is, if anything, the seal of that agreement, the culmination of all that sensible, old timey wooing stuff. Instead, Crowley just rejected the best offer and he's tempting him again, like that night when he offered him the meat and he thought he'd be a fallen angel, after that. But this time he's offering so much more. Something Aziraphale has probably denied himself for centuries. Come with me: you will have me. But choose me, not heaven. It's lonely. It's us. Our own side.

Did he actually understand what Crowley meant? Or is he just hearing "you have to come with me on my own terms and completely give up heaven, the good side and possibly yourself, possibly at the cost of Falling"? Which is also what Aziraphale is asking Crowley: "renounce to who you are and you can be with me, doing good, eradicating the part that is now you forever". A different Falling, a reverse Fall. An ascension to light, pureness, good (very interesting choice of poses, btw).

It's all this and a lot more: there's pride, there's prejudice, there's 2 people who see things differently and have a lot of problems, they're "never saying what they're really thinking" (like Maggie said). Like that night preparing for the West End:

Aziraphale: "thank you for saving my books (why do you keep saving me and being so nice to me?)" Crowley: "shut up (Don't make me say it)". Crowley: "Cheers for getting me off the hook (are you just doing this out of the agreement, for yourself, for me?)" Aziraphale: "Oh don't hank me (don't say it out loud), that's what... friends... are for (we'll always be there for each other, like always, we just can't say it more explicitly than this, me and you, angel and demon, forever bound to suffer because of our natures).

Saying what they really think, for once. That way they could have actually discovered all the things that transpired in the final discussion... a little sooner? Before the Megatron came into the picture meddling, muddling the waters? Who knows.

What would your OC be like if they were evil. Or if they're already evil what would they be like as the good guy?

Everyone is happy and nobody dies and they rule forever the end.

No but seriously if Maeve wasn't planning on backstabbing Dawn and there was actual trust and a real friendship between them then the trio would be unstoppable, Dawn was already well on track to have the longest rule the kingdom's seen in a long time and Maeve & Ara would both be helping the whole way through. I imagine meefie's piles of pride and ambition would extend to her friends too in good meefie, she would want the best for them too and she is going to get the best for them. I don't think she would be any less intimidating- she would just be bluffing a lot more with the stuff she says (whereas in canon she means it) snd wouldn't actually go through with anything overly cruel she threatens to do.

In general personality-wise she wouldn't change much, just, again, wouldn't actually mean the stuff she says if she's trying to scare someone. And she would be slightly more openly friendly (genuinely, not the fake kind). Don't expect too much though. Oh and she would tolerate flowers in her hair now too, just for Dawn and Ara's sake.

Subsequently this would make literally anyone else that's currently suffering in canon happy too, I wasn't joking about the 'eveyone' part at the start. Zephyr only ever kills one person, it's an accident and he gets some jail time for it but is let go because accident + good behaviour. Harold might not meet his Zephy until later but he gets to spend a good while longer with him when they do meet, and it ends peacefully and bittersweetly since that skirmish never happens. Obviously Ara never has any problems ever and even the work she does is shared between the three of them, and especially between her and Maeve. Even if Meev complains about it she does actually do it. And the moths help out too, either by protecting everyone else in moth dude's case or by being a trusted advisor in moth lady's case.

had a dream about randomly waking up and being Conner and M'gann's future kid or smth with absolutely no clue as to how i got there and now i'm thinking of a dp yj crossover with Danny being their kid and ending up in the same scenario.

like, he has enhanced strength and has a lot of powers similar to a martian, so this could actually work p good.

Okay, i see this as going one of two ways:

Danny is actually their kid, but Danny's memories of his past life (DP canon) catch up with him and mess with the memories of his current life.

Danny is not their kid, he has no idea how he got here and why these people insist he's their son. He's half-convinced this is one of Vlad's schemes and/or that they're kidnappers. (I'm leaning more towards this one)

Either way there would probably be a lot of Danny freaking out and trying to run away as soon as he could. This includes, of course, a panicked use of his powers, which surprises Conner and M'gann enough for him to escape.

At this point, he'd try to make his way to Amity Park and either find that it doesn't exist, was completely destroyed, or there's no evidence of ghost attacks/the Fentons/Sam and Tucker/anyone Danny might recognize.

Danny... has a bit of a rough time.

Regardless of which option I choose ('actually their kid' vs 'not their kid'), the reason things are different in Amity is because this is years in the future and also a different universe. It's probably Clockwork's fault tbh.

Danny doesn't know he's in an alternate universe so he kinda just, yknow, gets real sad and falls asleep in the park or something.

Conner and M'gann get some help and track him down. They're pretty heart broken to find their little boy sleeping on a bench with clear tear tracks on his cheek. They take him back to the bioship and discuss how to talk to him when he wakes up and how to help him with his 'new powers'.

When Danny wakes up in Conner and M'gann's house, he's much more resigned and quieter than before. Kinda listless too.

He doesn't know where he is, FentonWorks was destroyed/doesn't exist so he can't go into the Ghost Zone and ask Clockwork for help, and Vlad hasn't shown his face so he's just... stuck with these people.

there'll probably be a meeting with Dinah or something after a while of Danny showing the same behaviour and eventually, maybe, perhaps everyone will figure out Danny's from an alternate universe, but for reasons I haven't determined yet, he can't go back.

Eventually Danny will realize that Conner and M'gann aren't so bad, especially compared to his real parents, and will start to warm up to them. Maybe there will be a key moment when he actually seeks out one or both of them for comfort that cements them as trustworthy adults, at the very least.

then blah blah fluff blah blah angst blah blah story and Danny warms up to them a lot more and starts thinking of them as an uncle and aunt in his head (ignoring the fact that they act more like parents than Jack and Maddie ever had)

THEN there's gonna be this big incident where every hero available is asked to help out, including Conner and M'gann, and Danny is staying with uhh, Lucas Carr or one of C&M's other friends.

Danny sneaks out to go help, obviously, and Conner and M'gann are Not Happy and trying to send him back home, but oops too late, no one can leave now because The Incident has become much Much worse and will probably destroy the Earth if they don't stop it soon.

At one point, The Incident makes a portal into the Ghost Zone, a portal that's within eyesight to Clockwork's lair, a portal that Danny could easily fly into and go home, but that would mean leaving before The Incident was resolved and he couldn't do that. He also couldn't leave without saying goodbye.

So he stays, and he fights, and he does everything he can to help.

And then

The heroes are down. Many are injured or out cold. No one is unscathed. There are only a handful of people left standing, including Danny, Conner, and M'gann.

They won't be able to resolve The Incident with just the handful of people awake and able to move. But Danny has an idea. A very very bad idea.

He looks at the portal, allows a brief moment of mourning, and then absorbs the energy of the portal into himself, literally channeling the energy of the Ghost Zone through himself, to make a huge beam or ecto-construct or massive blast of ghost ice to resolve The Incident.

The downsides to doing this is how absolutely drained he feels afterward. Oh, and by using up the portal's energy Danny caused the portal, possibly his only way home, to close.

Conner, as the strongest dude still awake and moving, watches over The Resolved Incident, and M'gann holds Danny as he mourns his home.

I think Duke and Falcone had a tumultuous relationship in the Brotherhood of the Blade. Like- they both genuinely loved each other but were too incompatible to ever work out. Even as he loved him, Falcone still envied the authority and respect Duke had, and would often try to undermine him. Meanwhile, Duke began to resent the way Falcone treated everyone else and his general snobby attitude. Most of their arguments regarding their relationship either got patched up by Duke apologizing or Falcone love-bombing him. It was really confusing for Duke because most days he couldn’t tell if Falcone was with him or against him. Neither of them were perfect, but Falcone was objectively worse because he refused to introspect or change his behavior.

Hi, I don’t know if you can help with this and if not it’s ok but I am 20 now and have never dated anyone and I really don’t know where to start, I’ve been on dating apps for about a year and get overwhelmed and stop using them for months at a time but I feel like it’s the only safe way to find wlw in my area so I don’t have much of a choice. I’m just at a loss for where to even begin trying to find a girlfriend and how I should act in the early pre-dating stages (even as early as texting after a match) I’ve gotten a lot of matches but nothing has come of it and I feel a bit depressed and isolated because of it. You're good! I completely understand feeling really alone and inexperienced. Growing up queer in a small town is really just like that sometimes. I was lucky that I had some other queer friends and utilized online communities like you. I didn't have an in person relationship until I was about 20, so I definitely get the pressure and expectation from society that you "should" have done certain things by now (like having a first kiss) when in reality everyone is different and goes at their own pace, and it only actually matters what you feel and what you want and what's right for you.

And as for how you "should" act while in the flirting stage? Man if there was a handbook I'd send you that, but there isn't. That's kind of the thing: we're all just making this up as we go. (The real secret of being an adult is that none of us know what we're doing, that applies to dating too.) Some of it is trial and error, some of it is just doing what feels right! Just be kind, be open-minded, and be yourself! What I normally do is to try to meet someone where they are, like reciprocating/matching their level of enthusiasm to start. In my experience, it's really similar to the process of making a new friend! (Friend+, if you will.) Just try to communicate what you're looking for, assert your boundaries when needed, and be open to the unexpected. People are bound to surprise you.

Dating apps and dating in general can be really overwhelming! Take breaks when you need to! It's daunting to start. I've had one downloaded on my phone for months now but haven't actually made a profile because I don't know if I'm ready for that yet. The process is awkward and messy and unpredictable, which is why I think most people would prefer to just skip to the part where they have a stable loving partner already. Unfortunately it doesn't usually work like that.

But I think if you really want a partner, it's worth wading through the waters. Dating apps also aren't for everyone, and that's okay! I know in person can be really difficult too, especially if your circumstances aren't really conducive to meeting other wlw in public spaces. But you can't give up! There are hundreds of different kinds of date/meet-up/chatting apps nowadays, and lots of other social platforms/local clubs or group activities where you can meet people with similar interests; it might just be a matter of finding one that works for you. And if the most you come out with is some new friends, then that's great! In times like these, it's more important than ever to have a support system that you can lean on.

The most important thing to remember, which I will continue to emphasize ad nauseum, is that you are not alone. I assure you there are tons of other queer folx around the world that feel the same way (like me!). We are here. You never have to go it alone. You are part of a universe that is full of wandering lost souls seeking connection, and in reality you never actually have to look very far. So hang in there, and don't throw in the towel just because you haven't found what you're looking for yet. It takes time, you just have to trust that things will work out the way they need to, when they need to. Have faith, and have patience! It will not be perfect, and it might not even look like what you expect, but I know that it will be worth the wait.

And in the meantime, remember, we're in this together. My inbox is always open. <3

Ok, story time. Once as a teenager, my parents took away my laptop for a week or 2 so I had no queer content at my disposal. My solution? I decided to write what would turn out to be the worst gay story imaginable. It was SO badly written, full of clichés and with a terrible plot. It's written in this little notebook that I've kept it under my bed in shame all these years, never to see the light of day again. I plan to burn it some day. Actually, I think I'm gonna go look for it after I post this and see if it's just as bad as I remember. mabye I'll share a few lines

I used to write short stories about my OCs. Back then I was too embarrased to let anyone but myself read them, but I actually considered myself to be a decent writer. Now that I've gotten a bit older I realized that people aren't always as mean and judgy as I thought they would be and that it's ok to do things that you enjoy and share them with people.

Anybody who has listened to Dirt before knows that there is a bleakness that pervades every single note and lyric on this record. This record is the musical equivalent of a slow, painful descent into powerlessness and despair. In retrospect to lead singer Layne Staley's drug troubles (which he would eventually succumb to), the themes of addiction are heavily prevalent here, especially during the album's second half. It's a brutally honest record, certainly more so than what current popular music has to offer and even darker than anything Black Sabbath had created up to that point.

The dark instrumentation only amplifies this record's already-intense feel. Tracks such as "Junkhead" and "Hate to Feel" utilize murky, mid-tempo riffs from guitarist Jerry Cantrell to relay its message while cuts like "Down In a Hole" and "Rooster" make masterful use of balladry to make its point. Harmonies between Staley and Cantrell, a central characteristic of the band's sound, are present on almost every track and adds a sense of gravitas that wouldn't be there with just Staley's voice alone.

For all of its despondent nature, the album brings in other emotions to strengthen the record's sentimental value. It opens with bursts of thinly-veiled and barely-restricted anger exemplified in "Them Bones" and "Dam That River" while occasionally slipping into full-on dejection ("Sickman", "Dirt") or dangerous naivety ("Junkhead"). Staley's howls of regret and self-blame are also a key element to Dirt's bleak atmosphere.

Of course, it'd be remiss of me to discount bassist Mike Starr and drummer Sean Kinney. Starr adds an extra layer of sludge to complement Cantrell's parts while Kinney's parts range from a steady march of thunder ("Dam That River") to peppered rhythms that embody the feeling of emptiness on the record ("God Smack", "Angry Chair").

Though touted as grunge after the sudden popularity of the Seattle sound in late 1991 and early 1992, Alice In Chains are a band with such complexity and dynamics that compartmentalizing them into a single word or genre doesn't even scratch the surface of just how effective they are at translating their intense emotions -- the thrilling highs and the depressing lows -- into a unique blend of metallic lightning in a bottle. Dirt is arguably the band's greatest musical statement.

Of All Things, I Became an Aranara

You always imagined that if you woke up in the world of Genshin, the possibilities of being a Visionless wielder of elements and a slew of romantic shenanigans would lie in your wake. But when you instead find yourself in the body of an Aranara with romance likely out of the question, your only conclusion is that the gods of reincarnation isekai hate your guts.

notes. don't feel like being an aranara today? well go ahead and go to the series masterlist and see what your life could be if you were something else in genshin.

While you would have preferred being human, you have to admit there are few things better than turning into an Aranara. You've most assuredly been given Genshin non-humanoid pretty privilege with beautiful powers concerning plants and dreams to boot.

An even bigger benefit is that you can talk, so communicating with humans in this world will be a cinch.

The only thing you can really complain about now is that you aren't really able to handle salt and spices the way you used to. But to be honest, if that's the only thing you have to complain about, you'll gladly settle with being one of the musically-inclined leaf children of the rainforest.

All of whom are your friends despite the predicament you've found yourself in. You may have technically lost the isekai 50/50 but you feel like you've won in a lot of ways too.

Scaramouche

Ironically enough he was one of the easiest individuals on the list to befriend. Why? You met him when his memories were completely reset to zero and he had a much more sweet and calm demeanor

Considering the sharp-tongue Scaramouche you're used to, it honestly gave you whiplash

Still, you couldn't bring yourself to leave the guy, bright eyed and full of wonder. It was the constant abandonments and perceived abandonments that turned Scara into the person he came

You accompany him when he regains his memories, after which he assumes that now you know the extent of his true character and the things he's done that you'll leave him now. he even encourages you to do so, shooing you away

you plopping your small self across his shoulder and telling him he's your best friend means a lot to him, even if he tells you in response that you're an idiot but you can do as you wish

Before and after regaining his memories, Scara is very clingy. Before regaining them, he slept with you nestled to his chest much like a child would a teddy bear. Afterwards, he considers it too soft and embarrassing to do so but if you snuggle up against him well, he won't stop you

Once you got lost while exploring and when you didn't come back within the time he expected you to, he grew quite panicked and nearly turned the entire forest upside down trying to find you

When he did, you were promptly scolded for making him have to look for you. What's the matter with you? Don't go traveling somewhere unfamiliar or you'll just make him have to waste time backtracking to look for you

(He was scared that you had gotten eaten or hurt or worse, that you decided to no longer travel with him, leaving him to be alone all over again)

Whenever he has nightmares, you turn his dreams into ones much happier. He tells you to stay out of his head but he appreciates the fanciful worlds you craft for him

You're also quite handy when he needs to avoid his new fanbase from the Akademiya. Taking him to the dream world to avoid talking to people is quite a useful trick of yours

But as it turns out, Scaramouche is quite popular with the Aranara and they all love to indulge him. So you kinda have some competition

You can't believe you're actually getting jealous of Aranaras. Wow, how the mighty have fallen

Cyno

A son of the desert who grew up in the rainforest, Cyno heard of stories regarding the Aranara but he never thought they'd be real. But as far as he is concerned, you're as much a citizen of Sumeru as he is

So Cyno quickly rolls with the punches and treats you accordingly with respect. Talk about a win!

But as far as you being a travel companion? Cyno isn't entirely sure since his work concerns apprehending wayward scholars and their affiliates. It's dangerous, so unless you can prove yourself to be sturdy enough to protect yourself, he'll tell discourage you from following him

Of course, he can't rightly force a creature of Dendro and dreams from doing that anyway if you stubbornly continue on with him

Thankfully, you can set his worries aside when you show not only are you adorable, but resourceful, using your powers of Dendro to apprehend criminals attempting to flee the scene when Cyno arrives (all while staying hidden in the realm of dreams. You're not trying to put a target on the back of every Aranara after all)

That aside, you don't really have any troubles with Cyno. When he rests by campfire, he will make sure you stay a comfortable distance from the flames and will teach you about GI TCG and will even tell you a joke or two (or three)

Cyno is a reliable companion. He'll protect you if you are under his protection but he doesn't make you feel less than because you're not human either

But when he isn't in work mode, he is very sweet and even let's you wear his headdress from time to time as long as you are careful with it. In return you place flower crowns atop his head

Is another protective companion. As one brought from the desert to the rainforest for the sake of experiments, Cyno knows what could happen should those at the Akademiya find out that Aranaras are more than just a tale for children

So he always makes sure you aren't sighted by those he cannot trust

Kaveh

Meeting Kaveh was a bit of an accident as you had to help disentangle from a mess of vines

For someone blessed with the power of Dendro, he isn't really one who naturally has an affinity for plants

As such, he is embarrassed when you find him in this situation. Embarrassed and quite amazed to find out that Aranara aren't just stories. One getting him out of a mess like this isn't really how Kaveh ever imagined meeting one back when he was a child

That aside, Kaveh straightens himself out, thanks you and honestly he tries to be polite about it but he has plenty of questions about your being an Aranara that you can't really answer outside of lore you got from the game

You tell him that you'll look out for him when he is prancing about the rainforest so he can avoid these sorts of mishaps in the future which he insists is unnecessary

But you're not trying to be stuck living in nature forever, you want to make sure you have guaranteed safety. It also helps that if you're going to attach yourself to a human in the game, they aren't just some random NPC. A player character comes with a certain level of stability you appreciate

Kaveh's too good an opportunity to pass up and Mehrak is quite cute too. Win-win situation

Out of everyone here though sadly, Kaveh treats you most like a pet. Something no one wants to get from a hot guy even if you understand why he treats you so

At least he gives you plenty of sweets to eat?

You become a surprising point of comfort for Kaveh when he grows frustrated with his roommate. You tend to use your powers of Dendro to weave flowers through his hair during those moments and listen when he vents

You think his kindness does him more harm than good and that he tends to be his worst critic, so you tell Kaveh to be kinder to himself

Candace

A desert really isn't the place for an Aranara but you stubbornly decided to try your luck at it anyway against your better judgement (and the advice of your fellow Aranara)

But a couple of near death experiences aside, you think you made a good decision when you get to Aaru Village. The children there are very sweet and fascinated by you, having never seen an Aranara themselves

So you become quite popular among them, making them all sweet dreams and becoming a sort of... Guardian, one might say

You also help maintain the few plantlife of Aaru Village from Sabbah's flowers to the ajilenakh trees

It isn't much work but it's honest work

Candace thought nothing of it, thinking it was cute for the children of the village to have something to talk about

Then she ran into you trying (and failing) to get some food from the storage and that is how you were discovered by the actual Guardian of Aaru Village

Despite that little mishap, Candace is sweet to you and presents to you the same rules she gives all guests of Aaru. She also appreciates you helping with the children

So she doesn't disagree when you label yourselves as a sort of duo protecting everyone in different ways

Candace seldom has time to rest or enjoy any sort of personal time, so you try to be her invisible company in the day and you pester her to take breaks

You'd threaten to keep her contained in vines to make her take a break but you know she is infinitely stronger than your own abilities

How else can she fight monsters for hours at a time without tiring?

Still if you're at that level of desperate to make her rest, Candace promises to take more breaks along the day and rely more on her fellow guards

i always start these kinds of posts by saying "time flies, wow, look how far we've gotten." and it's true, but it gets repetitive. so this is me trying to make an anniversary post without all that cheesy stuff. bear with me.

on february 24, 2021, i decided to post the intro for this story. it gained traction slowly, and, before i knew it, i was being asked when to expect the demo. it excited me, knowing that other people were excited. and it still does. to know i've created a fanbase (??) is so surreal. even if i don't post on tumblr for a while, or am silently working on an update, i know that there are still people waiting for my return. and will continue to wait, even if i take longer than i expect. i beat myself up a lot for this (if you're on my patreon, you'd know), but sometimes, it can't be helped.

this has been the case for chapter 11 lately. to say i've been swamped with schoolwork would be an understatement. i'm exhausted. i haven't been able to touch my when twilight strikes document for weeks and it pains me. but even then, many of you are kind enough to remind me that it's okay. that life gets in the way sometimes and i'm doing the best i can.

with that said, i usually post some sort of special for my anniversary, but this year, it's going to be late. i've already started working on something and don't want to scrap it, so it'll be a belated present for everyone. i'll keep you all updated as to when this will be.

all in all, this story remains my greatest and proudest accomplishment to date, and i have no plans on stopping anytime soon. i know i've been silent and mia aside from patreon, but i appreciate your patience. thank you for sticking by me. thank you for three wonderful years.
