My take on the serenade...

I wish I’d used better paper for this now! Oh well, I like it anyway. This is in Cas and Dean’s cottage garden. Dean fixed up the ruined cottage while Cas cut back and replanted the garden. But you can see Dean's hand in the newly-rebuilt garden wall, with nice, flat even coping stones - for sitting on.

I gave Cas little fluffy wings and that's a trowel he's holding. He's been planting flowers for his bees. Dean has been in their cottage baking and he's brought out a tray of tea with two types of pie. But then he had an idea for a song. That's Sam’s cottage you can see down in the valley. It's going to rain soon, so they'll take their pie inside and eat it in front of the fire.

And you have the fact that I like drawing feet to thank for their cute little toesies!

hi!! so this isn't actually the case as while gourdy was briefly mentioned in a trial, said trial had nothing to do with whether or not gourdy was "real" per se as much as. well. murder, actually. while gourdy WAS found out to be an inflatable steel samurai this was not brought up in the case at all as the veracity of gourdy wasn't really as relevant as the fact that the witness was looking for gourdy rather than at the murder she claimed to have seen. plus this was also a relatively small part of a MUCH larger trial which for those interested not only solved the dl-6 case but ALSO marked the end of prosecutor von karma's ~40 year long record and the court records are really a fascinating read through!!

Steve gets a karaoke machine, and because he's a little bit of a dick, he decides that during the next pizza/ice cream/movie/karaoke night, he's doing a song just for Eddie. He stands in the middle of his living room, mic clutched in his fist, his friends and the kids watching him with anticipation. The music cues in and he starts belting, doing the most melodramatic rendition of I Wanna Know What Love Is right in Eddie's face. Eddie is baffled, then blushing, then laughing hysterically with everyone else in the room.

Steve brushes it off--it's a joke, mostly--and if it's anything else, only Robin knows.

The thing is, he can't stop doing it. He serenades Eddie with the same song for weeks, until everyone groans and complains. Eddie's reaction is always the same, but at his fifth performance, Eddie leaps from the couch as the chorus hits. Steve falters, but Eddie doesn't. He pulls Steve into his arms, dips him low, sings right back.

Steve and Eddie, who are both kind of dicks, kick off the next karaoke night by making the song the sappiest, most disgustingly in love duet. They sing until the jeers and laughter drown them out, until they both have a bucket's worth of popcorn stuck in their hair.

No one really minds that they'll have to hear Foreigner every week for the rest of their lives, though. Not with how Eddie and Steve can't stop looking at each other with love spilling out.
