Julieta didn't know what she expected when her husband led to their bedroom, but it wasn't this. This was something out of her wildest dreams. All the lights were out, and there were candles lit all over, casting an otherworldly glow across the room.
There were soft, fluffy towels so thick, they looked like blankets strewn across the bed. Were those new? There were dozens of bottles of body oils on both of the bedside tables. Rose petals are also strewn on the bed and the floor.
Slowly turning to Agustín, Julieta asks, breathlessly "W-what is this?"
Agustín places both hands on her arms "Mi amor, you take care of everyone without even thinking about it, but you never think to take care of yourself. Let me take care of you."
Julieta might as well just melt into a puddle right then and there. Her voice quivered. She felt like she was on the verge of tears. These damn hormones. "I-I don't know what to say…" She looked up at him with glassy. hooded eyes.
"Don't say anything. C'mere." He wrapped his arms around her, tilted her head toward his and caught her lips in a languid kiss, slipping off her robe. Still locked in their kiss, he backed them up to the edge of their bed.

Love and Fury
Chapter Preview: Leandra sighed, deciding that now was as good a time as any to tell him how she felt about him, “Bruno-?”
“Oh! Squid!” Bruno pushed the tablet into her hands and sank to his knees, leaving her standing there holding a glowing picture of a robot with her mouth still open to speak.

Chapter 21 Tease
“Are you sure you don’t mind?”
“No, of course not, we have plenty of room.”
“Gracias,” Leandra unloaded the cheese that was leftover from the market into Casita’s large fridge, setting aside a few pieces for Julieta to use in her next batch of arepas as payment, “don’t let me forget these when I leave.”
One of the side effects of living in a magic, sentient house was that the house itself would choose furniture it liked. Once the merchants had come back from the big city and told tales of electric stoves and refrigerators, the next day the ice box was gone and a fridge stood in its place. Juli had asked if they could get an electric stove as well, but Casita apparently preferred the old fashion wood fire one.
Julieta grinned at Bruno as she said, “No promises… Reina.”
Leandra froze. Slowly, she raised her head from the fridge to look at Bruno, who was now pressing his back against the wall in hopes that Casita would kindly swallow him whole.
Leandra turned to Julieta, “Then I guess I’ll just have to ask Bruno to remind me… Sprinkles.”
Julieta’s jaw dropped, then she turned her glare towards Agustín, who seemed to be trying to hide behind his book, “You told her about that?”
“Not technically…” he grimaced.
“Sexy Sprinkles was your code name back when we were passing notes in school,” Leandra shrugged.
“Please tell me you had equally embarrassing code names for the other two?”
“None of us had a big fat crush on the other two, so no.”
“Reina always chose to fuck or marry Bruno when we played Fuck, Marry, Kill,” Agustín said, as much to tease her as to help her get through to Bruno, “that’s almost like having a big fat crush.”
Bruno’s head whipped towards Leandra so fast he heard his neck pop.
“I stand by every single one of those calls,” Leandra crossed her arms, “but it’s not quite the same as you writing down baby names in the margins of your notes.”
“Well of course we’re going to name our first daughter after his mother,” Julieta said, unbothered even as Agustín grinned sheepishly, “it’s only respectful. Besides, Isabela is a beautiful name.”
“How are we supposed to make fun of them when they’re in love?” Leandra huffed to Bruno. He just shrugged.
Agustín drew a breath to retort, but froze when Señora Madrigal walked into the kitchen. She must have been aware of the tension in the room, but she ignored it, greeting each of them with a nod before pouring herself a glass of water. When she left without incident, they all breathed a collective sigh of relief.
“She was the one who said we should invite you to dinner tonight,” Julieta said, albeit a bit uneasily.
“I know, I just- do we know why? Are we sure this isn’t a trap?” Agustín nervously drummed his fingers on the table.
Bruno slowly said, “Well, you did help out at that impromptu party, maybe that won you some brownie points.”
“Maybe she’s finally noticed how happy you make me,” Julieta shrugged.
“Maybe it’s the fact that you’ve stood by Julieta even when things didn’t go your way,” Leandra said.
“And maybe she’s planning to poison me,” Agustín’s forehead hit the table with a thunk, and he rested the open book on the back of his head.
“W-we can stay, if you guys need us to,” Bruno volunteered reluctantly. He had been looking forward to today, to spending some time playing with his powers like he used to, before it became so… miserable. But he would put it off if Julieta needed him.
Leandra drifted over to stand next to him, swallowing the urge to take the words back for him. She knew it wasn’t her decision to make, even if she wanted Bruno to be a little selfish right now.
“No, no,” Julieta shook her head, “we can’t hide behind you guys. Go ahead, go have fun.”
Leandra did a better job of hiding her relief than Bruno, but wasn’t quite able to hide the fondness she felt when Bruno was so visibly relieved, “Gracias. I-I mean, not that I want to just… leave you here, I-I just, we just-.”
“The offer stands, come find us if you need us” Leandra put a hand on his shoulder, and he gave her a grateful look.
“Gracias,” Agustin said.
They left the kitchen, Bruno trying to smother his eager grin, Leandra noticed it anyways, “You’re really looking forward to this.”
“I- well, sí,” he shrugged, “it’s fun, or it can be, watching the future unfold. Sometimes, if the thing I’m seeing is close enough, I can hear what’s being said too. I used to watch telenovelas all the time. People used to ask me to show them glistening cities and unimaginable wonders. The things I-, the world is so big, there’s just… there’s so much I’ve wanted to look- check on really.”
“Check on?”
He nodded, opening his door for her, “The last time I checked on, you know, future technology they had just- I think it’s fifty years into the future? There are these things called computers, they… sort of exist already, well, not really. But the seeds are there. Anyways. Computers.”
“Computers,” she prompted, as he led her up the stairs, practically hopping from step to step.
“How to even-, well I want to check on how they’re doing, so I can just show you,” he decided, “you kind of already saw them. The moon landing used computers- uses… will use.”
“I can’t wait,” she tried not to huff and puff as she followed him. He was bouncing and bounding up the stairs, while chattering happily, and he wasn’t even winded. Meanwhile, she was just listening to him and feeling tired.
Good thing they were almost at the top.
“And I’ll have to see if any good movies came out, although you won’t be able to hear, so… maybe I can find one with subtitles,” he hummed thoughtfully, “oh, do you like sports? I can show you the next three times Colombia wins the World Cup! And of course we have to check on the space race.”
“This sounds like a lot of visions for one afternoon,” she pointed out as they reached the top of the canyon, “don’t forget, I am officially requesting at least one fun vision every week for the foreseeable future, so there’s time to pace yourself.”
“Right, yeah, of course,” Bruno lead her across the bridge, “so no World Cup. For now. We’ll start with computers… then Mars. A-and maybe check to see if any cool fish have been discovered. Have you ever seen a giant squid? Of-of course not, stupid question. I’ll show you a giant squid.”
The tunnel to his vision cave was filled with cushy green moss, pots full of incense, and carvings of Bruno having a vision. She paused to admire the carvings while Bruno gathered different supplies. He handed her a few incense dishes and a bundle of dried herbs.
“Huh, you didn’t have most of this stuff last time,” she said.
He took it as the question it was, “Like I said, repeating a vision I’ve already had is easier. This will be slightly more challenging, the herbs are to keep me calm, the incense helps me focus.”
“And it looks cool,” she followed him into the cave putting an incense holder down wherever he pointed.
“And it looks cool,” he admitted, somewhat sheepishly, as he lit the incense and placed one in each dish so that the room had three incense around the border. Next he took the bundle of herbs and made four piles in the middle of the sand pit, setting the excess aside. He struck a match with practiced ease and carefully lowered it to the piles, lighting them each on fire.
“You know something,” Leandra said thoughtfully, patiently waiting as he completed his rituals, “I think you should overdo it.”
“Overdo what?” Bruno shut the door and waited for his eyes to adjust to the low light cast by the already smoldering herbs.
“The theatrics,” her voice helped to guide him back to her, “I mean… you are literally magic. You can see into the future and show people all the wonders it holds, your power has saved the lives and livelihoods of this village more than once. You need to go over the top with it.”
“Why do you think I wear a ruana that’s two sizes too big?” he held out his hands, grinning when she placed hers in his palms, “I tried giving visions in normal clothes, but it was so- there was nothing to billow dramatically in the wind. And Mamá wouldn’t let me get a cape, sooooo…”
“A cape? Bruno, you are a strange man, and I beg you to never change,” she told him, sounding incredibly fond.
He felt his cheeks burn, he opened his mouth to say… something. To return the compliment, perhaps. Or tell her that most people saw his strangeness as a bad thing. Or maybe he would just tell her how much her friendship meant to him. But the words crowded him, jamming themselves up and failing to fall off his tongue.
“Computers,” he blurted, then cleared his throat, “we’ll start with computers.”
Bruno closed his eyes and inhaled deeply, allowing the future to flow over him. He took a minute to just observe the different paths available to him, checking for any that looked like it’d be fun to wander down. He made note of one path that started at what seemed to be an archeological dig, then began picking through to find the road that leads to computers.
It’d been a few years, maybe a whole decade since he’d gone down this particular path, and it was easier to trod, more solid, than it had been before. He opened his eyes and heard Leandra suck in a deep breath, her hands tightening around his.
Did she find the whole, glowing eye thing creepy? He hoped not, but he couldn’t think of any other reason for her to have such a big reaction to it.
Leandra bit her lip, grinning. Dios, he looked good like that.
“You alright?” he asked, voice low.
“Excited,” she said.
“Oh,” he sighed, shoulders relaxing minutely while a small smile twitched at his lips, “well, it’s there, behind you if you want to see it. The first computer. All it does is math, at this point.”
Leandra glanced over her shoulder and saw a big box. She made an interested noise then turned back around to stare at Bruno some more. The light of his eyes skimmed over his cheekbones and danced in his hair as the wind whipped it around.
“That’s the computer they’ll plan the moon landing on.”
She looked again. It was another box.
“Wow,” she said, then went back to staring at Bruno. She could very faintly see his lips in the low light as they pursed in concentration.
“This is where the vision ended last time, the personal computer,” Bruno said, brow furrowing.
This box was small enough to sit on a desk, it was attached to another box that had a little window on it, and a third, box-like thing that had a lot of buttons on it.
“What does this one do?”
“I don’t really know, you can play games on it, but it’s probably good for other stuff,” he sounded a bit distracted. The glowing green sand shifted and the computer changed shape. The box with the window growing larger, the thing with the buttons growing slimmer. A little doohickey appeared, it was ovuler in shape and had two buttons on top of it.
“What’s that?”
“It controls the computer somehow.”
“Then what is the thing with all those buttons for?”
“Ummm typing. It’s like a typewriter.”
“Huh, games and typing, that’s pretty neat.”
“Yeah… there’s something happening, it’s- it’s doing something, big. Something world changing,” he closed his eyes in concentration, “it’s too far out though, it isn’t fully formed. But… something to do with communication? No… well yes, but also it’s so much more.”
She watched as the window grew larger until she could see what it was displaying. Drawings of two computers were connected by a dotted line, at the center point of the dashed line there was a little picture of the Earth, and there was a rectangle slowly being filled with little bars with the word “loading” hovering over it.
“Is it connecting to another computer? Why?”
“I don’t know, but whatever the reason, it’s going to be a big deal,” Bruno shrugged. He closed his eyes again, and the wind died down a little, “That’s as far as that path goes. Nothing else is solid yet.”
The sand gathered, forming the requisite green tablet. Bruno plucked it out of the air and placed it aside almost carelessly. A glance showed that last image, the image of two computers connecting to eachother.
World changing, apparently. Maybe it’d be like the telegram? Give people the ability to send messages to eachother almost instantly.
Without the green glow of the vision, they were plunged into near pitch black darkness. Only the faint light of the smoldering leaves and the glowing tablet illuminating their vague shapes to one another.
“So, what do you want to see next?”
“Let’s look at Mars,” his brows furrowed as he dove back in. He had never looked for the future of another planet before, but he figured it must be along the same path as the moon landing.
Sure enough, when he pushed past man’s first step on the moon, he found whole decades of space travel waiting for him. Some of it looked interesting, but he couldn’t make heads or tails of what was happening so he passed those images by. He didn’t bother trying to drag any of the future to the present, not until he saw what he was looking for.
“Here,” he suddenly shouted, startling Leandra who had been waiting, watching the light from the whirling sand play across his face in silence, for several minutes.
Bruno was grinning now, eyes wide with excitement, “Ok, so, look, it’s not humanity walking on Mars, but it’s almost better!”
She turned and found herself looking at… a wagon? It was another box, with a bunch of wires on it this time, and some wheels. It moved around the rocky terrain under its own power, no beast or man there to direct it.
“Is that…?” she squinted at it, it couldn’t be one of those automobiles they had in big cities, it didn’t have a driver, “Is that a robot?!”
“It is!” Bruno nodded eagerly, “We make robots and send them to Mars!”
“Ay dios, that’s… it’s like something out of a book,” she gasped.
“I know, right?”
“How far in the future is this?”
“Um,” his brow crinkled in concentration, then he let out a disbelieving laugh, “less than a hundred years from now.”
That soon? They would be sending robots into space that soon? How was that possible?
“How are they controlling it? How does it get back to Earth? What is it doing?” she asked in a hurry, Bruno laughed and shook his head as she shot questions at him one right after another.
“Hold on, hold on, let me see what I can find out,” he grinned at her wryly, glowing green eyes looking just past her shoulder. The light of the vision caught on one of his canines, making him look absolutely wicked, and her stomach swooped.
She bit her lip to hold back a gasp as his brow furrowed again, mouth still grinning. If she asked Bruno to ravage her, would he?
Probably not, but at the very least his reaction would be funny.
“It’s mostly on its own, following its programming- instructions it received before getting launched into space, I mean. It looks like,” he paused and she glanced over at the vision where people were typing on computers, the only one she could see clearly was typing in English, “yeah… it’s on a mission of discovery.”
“Wait, you can speak English?”
The only people she knew who could speak English were Agustín and his half siblings.
Bruno shrugged, “No, but I can read it.”
“That’s pretty impressive.”
“I’m literally showing you a robot on Mars, and you’re impressed I can read?” he teased.
“I can be impressed by multiple things,” she sniffed.
The vision shifted, returning to the robot roaming around a little canyon. They watched it for a little, then the sand started to gather, forming the tablet between them.
Bruno grabbed it and they paused to stare at it together, shoulder to shoulder.
“You think they use magic for any of this stuff?” Leandra asked, quietly.
“I mean… no, I know they don’t,” Bruno let out another amazed laugh, “but I just can’t imagine- men on the moon, robots on Mars, it’s all so, so… how could it not be magic? You know?”
“Papá tells me he didn’t even know magic was real before Encanto,” she mused, “that kind of implies that it’s rare, right? That most people don’t get to see it?”
“Huh. Now that you… I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone use magic in one of my visions,” he said, thoughtfully, “maybe I should check. See if there are other people out there like us. W-Well, me technically, since you don’t, you know, do magic.”
“That’d be amazing,” she grinned, “it’s like my abuela always said…”
Bruno frowned, turning from the tablet to give Leandra a questioning look. He was pretty certain her family died when she was too young to remember them, but that seemed like a rude thing to blurt out.
“The more Bruno the better,” Leandra bumped her hip playfully against his.
“Wha-?” the darkness covered his blush, “Your abuela never said that, you’ve never even met her!”
“Oh yeah? Have you? Prove it. Prove not a single one of my three abuelas said ‘The more Bruno the better’.”
Bruno couldn’t quite keep his amusement out of his voice, “Three?”
“Sí, three. My birth mother's Mamá, my birth father’s Mamá, and my Papá’s Mamá.”
“Fair enough,” he admitted, “but there’s still no way-.”
“Well, even if none of them said it, I will,” she wrapped one hand around his bicep and put the other in his, pressing herself to his side, she dropped her voice just a little lower, “the more Bruno, the better.”
Bruno gulped, but forced himself to chuckle at her antics as if her voice didn’t just send a shiver down his spine. She probably wasn’t doing that on purpose.
Leandra, who absolutely did do that on purpose, pouted at his non-reaction. Did that mean he was uncomfortable? Did he just not notice? She sighed, deciding that now was as good a time as any to tell him how she felt about him.
Hell, maybe it would end in them making out. Or more.
“Bruno-?”
“Oh! Squid!” Bruno pushed the tablet into her hands and sank to his knees, leaving her standing there holding a glowing picture of a robot with her mouth still open to speak.
“Wait-?”
“I was going to show you a giant squid, and there was an archeology dig I wanted to check out,” he glanced down at the herbs then added a few more to the pile, blowing on it to encourage the smolder to keep going.
“You’re not getting tired?” she asked, “I don’t want to overwork you.”
“No, no, it’s fine,” Bruno waved off the concern, “I’m having fun. It’s been so long since I got to just… explore. I’ll let you know when I need to stop.”
“Bien, but don’t forget, I want to start doing this regularly,” she sat across from him and once more placed her hands in his, “there’s no rush.”
“Uh-huh,” he muttered, closing his eyes and concentrating again, the first sighting of a giant squid in its natural habitat was roughly eighty years off, but all of the necessary groundwork had been laid, so the path there may as well have been paved with stone.
He pulled up the image of the boat quickly, smiling when he opened his eyes and Leandra let out, what he assumed to be, a sigh at the beauty of the image before them.
“They’re prepping the camera,” Bruno explained, as they watched the little boat bob in the ocean, two researchers fiddling with a camera and some bait.
When the contraption was ready, they threw it overboard on a long fishing line. The vision followed the camera into the depths as it sank, down, down, down. It came to a stop and it looked like nothing was happening, but Bruno knew hours were passing.
Eventually, a vague shape began to emerge from the water, “Here it comes.”
The squid unfurled itself from the sands of time, giant and elegant and other worldly. It wrapped its tentacles around the bait, forming a great ball of writhing flesh. It should have been horrifying.
“That’s amazing,” Leandra said.
“Isn’t it great?” Bruno squeezed her hands in his excitement, “It takes them years to get these photos, years! The giant squid is one of the most mysterious animals in the world. It literally takes us longer to find a living one in their natural habitat than it does for us to go to the moon.”
“Really? This is after the moon landing?”
“Sí,” he shrugged, “sort of hard to believe, isn’t it?”
“Yeah,” she stared at the strange animal, “Bruno, your gift is so cool. Fuck the farmers, let’s just look at squids forever.”
Bruno laughed, then grimaced, “I’ll uh, I’ll let you convince the rest of the village that this is a good use of my gift. They used to-, now that I’m an adult… well.”
She sighed and nodded, “Yeah, I get it. But why does it have to be one or the other? Useful visions or fun ones? Why can’t there be both?”
“It might have something to do with me not being an adorable ten year old anymore,” he said, slowly.
“Yeah, sure, but you’re one of the most handsome men in the village,” she argued, “you would think you’d at least have a bunch of horny women trying to get in your-.”
“Reina,” he laughed and rolled his eyes, cutting her off before she could finish that sentence.
She bit her lip, tempted to shout “Guapo” in the same tone of voice he’d used. She didn't, she just stroked the back of his hands with her thumbs and said, “Their loss, more Bruno for me.”
He shook his head, smiling fondly, “Here, you can keep this one.”
He ended the vision as the squid unfurled its tentacles, inadvertently striking a very dramatic pose. The tablet that formed as a result was worthy of being hung over a king’s mantle, or in this case, a queen’s.
She accepted it eagerly, “If being the town Seer doesn’t work out, you could try becoming a painter, you have a good eye for composition.”
Bruno snorted, “Gracias, I’ll keep that in mind.”
In the near darkness, he massaged his temples, he could feel a headache coming on. Maybe he should stop. It was like she said, Leandra was going to start requesting visions from him regularly, Bruno didn’t have to cram everything in today.
But what if she got bored of the future? What if she got too busy to come explore with him?
It seemed selfish somehow, to use his gift purely for his own entertainment, especially if it meant he was too tired to use it to help the village. With her here, making an official request of The Town Seer, it didn’t matter if Bruno was enjoying himself. He was still doing his job.
Without her, there’d be no excuse. His Mamá would be so disappointed if Bruno had to turn somebody away just because he’d spent the whole afternoon goofing off.
He could handle one more, he decided, he just wanted to see what they had dug up. Then he would rest.
“Alright, last one,” he took a deep breath and rolled his head around on his shoulders, working some of the stiffness out.
“Are you sure?” her voice was back to that low concerned purr, as if she was worried if she spoke too loud, too roughly, it would shatter his bones.
“Yeah, sí, I just want to see one more thing,” he held out his palms and waited patiently for her to put her soft hands in his. He paused, opening his eyes to stare at her silhouette for a couple beats.
She squeezed his hand gently, thumbs once again stroking his knuckles. It soothed some of the tension from his shoulders, and when he opened the door to the future once more, it was easier to ground himself.
His Mamá or sisters used to accompany him when he did his visions, back when the village was smaller and they were less busy. It suddenly occurred to him how much he’d missed having a friendly hand to hold.
He shook the thought off and focused. One more. One more then he’ll let himself mope.
It was easy enough to find the dig that had plucked at his attention earlier. He pulled it closer, opening his eyes so that everything else sank away. He didn’t poke or prod at the vision, instead letting it unfurl itself in whatever direction it so chose.
“So, what are we looking at?”
“An archeological dig,” he said, “it grabbed my attention, I want to see if they find anything interesting.”
“What are they looking for?”
“Hmm,” he examined the dig site, “fossils? I think.”
Was it still called archeology if they were looking for dead animals instead of dead people? He’d have to look it up later.
The vision started shifting, the diggers moving from place to place as the sand twisted itself through several days. When it settled, one of the men was calling out to another, waving his hands excitedly.
“They found something,” Bruno narrated, somewhat unnecessarily since she could see the same thing he could, “oh, now months are passing. It’s taking them a really long time to unearth it.”
The workers were mere blurs of sand as a shape began to emerge from the rock face. Bruno couldn’t tell what it was, if he had a bit more energy he would have hurried the vision along. Unfortunately, he was tired, and forced to wait for the sand to fall through day after day as he bit his lip.
“Come on, come on, almost there,” he murmured, “what’d they find?”
“Are those teeth?” Leandra asked, and sure enough, large pointy teeth were becoming visible.
“It’s a skull,” Bruno realized, “but of what?”
“It sort of looks like a giant crocodile,” she remarked, “if the snout was shorter, of course.”
“Oh! Oh! It’s a dinosaur skull,” Bruno cried, “we’re watching them unearth a T-Rex!”
“Really?” she breathed, “Do you think it’s the whole dinosaur?”
“Let’s find out,” he stood, drawing her up with him. She guided him around the burning herbs so they could stand closer to the image.
His head was beginning to pound, but he ignored it. Bruno didn’t get to see that many glimpses of the past, being a future teller and all. And it’s not like Encanto had a natural history museum he could visit. He wanted to see this vision through.
Slowly, painfully slowly, the sand shaped itself into not just a skull, but a neck, shoulders, tiny arms and giant ribs, a spine, two massive legs, then a long tail.
He grit his teeth as the tablet formed itself in front of him, grabbing it and dropping the vision as soon as it was fully formed. Still, when he held the image of a fully excavated T-Rex in his hands the migraine felt way more worth it than when he was holding a picture of a dead pet.
“An actual dinosaur,” he cried, then flinched as his own volume exacerbated his headache. He continued in a quieter voice, “isn’t this great?”
“It’s amazing,” Leandra took her cue from him and spoke quietly, “how are you doing?”
“I-I’ll be fine,” he said, even as he leaned into the arm she wrapped around him.
“Uh-huh, how bad’s the headache?”
“Uuuuh not that bad,” he chuckled nervously.
“Convincing. Let’s get you into bed,” she started tugging him towards the door, pausing only to collect the three other vision tablets.
Bruno pulled his hood over his head, grimacing when they opened the door and the light flooded the cave. She wrapped her arm back around his shoulder and guided him forward, allowing him to squeeze his eyes shut against the ever present sunlight.
“Is there anything you can take for your head?”
“Um, s-sometimes if it’s really bad, Mamá used to put a cold rag on my forehead,” Bruno confessed, squinting down at the stairs as she carefully guided him down the canyon.
“I’ll grab you one once you’re in bed.”
“Oh, you uh, you don’t have to.”
“Nonsense,” Leandra scoffed, “even if you hadn’t gotten this migraine giving me a tour of the future, you’re my… friend and I care about you. I can’t just walk away knowing you’re miserable.”
Bruno forced himself not to think too hard about that pause before she’d said friend, in fact, it was best he didn’t do any thinking at all. Thinking hurt.
“Gracias,” he said, quietly.
“Anytime,” she gave him a little squeeze.
The journey down the stairs seemed painstakingly slow, Bruno was moving like a turtle with knee pain, but Leandra swallowed her complaints. The only reason she was even annoyed was because she’d thought Bruno would stop before he got to the point of migraines. Next time they did this, she was stopping him at three visions.
When she finally, finally, got him in his bed, she found herself oddly tempted to kiss his forehead, but shoved it aside. Instead she turned off each of his lamps, rolling her eyes when he sighed in relief.
“I’ll be right back with that cloth,” she promised quietly.
Bruno just nodded.
“Your brother,” Leandra huffed to Pepa and Julieta when she entered the kitchen.
“What’d he do?” Julieta asked.
“Oh! Let me guess, he had a vision of you two getting married and assumed it was a play,” Pepa said, causing Agustín to snicker.
“No, although I wouldn’t be surprised if that happened,” Leandra shook her head, “He overworked himself, could I trouble you for a cold rag?”
“Oh, of course,” Julieta reached into a drawer and pulled out a washcloth, she ran it under the faucet then stuck it in the freezer, “and here, I know it doesn’t do much, but bring him some food. It might make things a little better.”
Leandra nodded, “Gracias.”
“No, no, thank you for looking after him,” Julieta waved off the thanks as she piled food on a plate.
“Maybe we could get you a nurse’s uniform,” Pepa mused.
“You think he’ll get the hint if I start wearing lingerie around him?”
“No, but I think the color his cheeks would turn would be fascinating,” Pepa shrugged.
“Now, now,” Agustín shook his head, chuckling, “why haven’t you just talked to him about it?”
“Not even I’m immune to nerves,” Leandra accepted the plate, “what if he not only rejects me but then gets all awkward and shuts down on me? I don’t want to lose his friendship.”
“It's not an unfounded concern,” Julieta sighed, as she put the kettle on, “here, I’ll send you up with some ginger tea, sometimes these migraines make it hard for him to eat.”
“Ok,” Leandra agreed.
Julieta paused in thought, then grabbed a canteen and filled it with water, handing it to Leandra. She placed the plate down so she could sling the canteen’s strap over her shoulder.
“Still, you should take the plunge,” Agustín said, “if his answer is yes and you wait too long, you might miss out on your chance altogether.”
“Or don’t,” Pepa grinned, “watching him moon over you while you flirt with him is funny.”
“Is he mooning over me? Has he said anything?”
“Maybe a couple of sweets,” Julieta murmured to herself, “to lift his mood.”
“He talks about you constantly, and turns red as a tomato whenever one of us teases him about you,” Pepa said.
“Ok, but that could just be him talking about his friend, and blushing because he’s being teased,” Leandra groaned, “the longer this goes on, the more nervous I am, you know? He ain’t giving me any concrete signs one way or another and the closer we get to eachother the more I worry about making him uncomfortable. I don’t want him to feel like I’m only spending time with him because he’s pretty.”
“Aw, it’s sweet seeing somebody all worked up over our dorky Brunito,” Pepa said, then gave Leandra a sympathetic look, “but I do get what you mean. Sometimes Bruno can be…”
“He plays his cards very close to his chest,” Julieta said, now putting the plate (which had acquired more food), sweets, and some pain killer in a basket, “does he have enough pillows?”
“What? Julie, he has a mountain of them,” Pepa eyed the basket and looked about to say something, but then shook her head and turned back to Leandra, “do you want us to talk to him?”
“I- well yes, but no. I don’t want him to feel pressured in either direction,” she sighed, “if he magically opens up about his feelings and admits to having a crush on me, let him know I’ve been flirting with him, but I think I just have to grow a spine and tell him how I feel.”
“Atta girl,” Agustín cheered, then he put his hands on Julieta’s shoulders, “amor, he’s just up the stairs, and we’re having dinner soon, he doesn’t need this much food.”
“But-.”
“Really mi vida,” Agustín gently took the bag of nuts Julieta had been trying to put in the basket, “you said he barely eats when he has a migraine. I think the tea, some water, a couple of arepas and the painkiller will be plenty.”
Julieta sighed and began unpacking the basket, “You’re right.”
“In the meantime,” Pepa was back to being sly, “please, do keep us abreast of every pick up line that goes over his head. I can’t wait to tease him about how oblivious he’s being.”
“Pretty sure it makes me a bad friend if I give you ammunition against him,” Leandra pointed out, removing the kettle right when it started to whistle.
“A bad friend to him maybe, but a great potential sister in law to me,” Pepa winked at her and Leandra laughed.
“Let’s not get ahead of ourselves,” she poured the hot water into the provided teapot while Julieta put two cups in the basket, “we don’t even know for sure how Bruno feels.”
“I do think you’re being too cautious,” Julieta said, taking the cold rag out of the freezer, it was still a bit wet so she wrapped it in another cloth, “it really does seem like Bruno wants to be with you.”
“Well, then he can be the one to grow a spine and talk about his feelings,” Leandra accepted the basket with the hand that wasn’t holding the teapot.
“Yeah, that’s not happening,” Pepa said, dryly.
“A girl can dream,” Leandra shrugged, “I’ll see you guys at dinner.”
“Good luck,” Agustín called after her, “tell Bruno we hope he feels better.”
“Will do.”
She crossed the courtyard quickly, and thanked Casita when Bruno’s door opened by itself. She accidentally sloshed a little bit of tea into the sand when she went down the stairs too quickly.
“Your future brother in law just saved you from receiving an entire hospital,” Leandra said, quietly, as she shouldered through the tent flap.
“I’ll make sure to send him a thank you card,” Bruno had one arm strung over his eyes, despite how dark the tent already was with all the lamps extinguished.
Leandra walked slowly over to the bed, squinting into the darkness at her feet in hopes that she wouldn’t step on a rat. She needn’t have bothered, when she sat on the bed, two little fur balls scurried up her back to perch on her shoulders. She placed the basket in her lap and placed the two tea cups on his bedside table, filling them each half full, she hoped.
“Is that ginger?” he asked.
“For your stomach, Julieta wants you to have a couple of arepas and some pain killer,” she opened the bottle of pills in question and got one out for him.
“I don’t suppose I can say no.”
“You can, but you’ll have to be the one to explain it to her.”
“Oof. Hand it over,” he sat up against the headboard and ate an arepa as quickly as he could before accepting the medicine. He drank the tea much slower, seeming to savor the sharp scent.
“The smell doesn’t make your migraine worse?” her grasping hands finally found the cold cloth and she pulled it out of the basket.
“Meh, not really, just light and sound,” he sank back down beneath the covers, then groaned loudly when she pressed the cloth to his forehead, “ay dios.”
“Does that help?” she asked, even as her hands moved from the cloth to massage his temples.
“More than you know,” he murmured, swallowing another groan.
Bruno opened his eyes, they were always so sensitive to light after his visions and he found that he could sometimes see in the dark when his head got like this. Leandra was hanging over him, lips pouting and eyes wide. He slammed his eyes shut again.
Maybe he should have had her put him on the cushion pile. Having Leandra take care of him in his bed was dangerously close to some of the too pleasant dreams he’d had about her.
“Will you be able to make it to dinner?” her voice was a sweet purr, she shifted closer to him and he was acutely aware of her thigh pressing against his hip.
“Sí, p-probably,” he gulped. His imagination not so helpfully supplied an image of her straddling him as she continued to massage his temples.
She smoothed her thumbs over his brows, then applied gentle pressure to his scalp as she moved her fingers in small circles. Bruno flipped the cool cloth over onto his aching eyes and she used a dry piece of cloth, that may have been her skirt, to dab the extra moisture off his forehead.
Leandra gently stroked his hair for a little, trying to think of other things she could do that might help ease his pain. What did she do last time?
Bruno almost swallowed his tongue when her hands moved to the back of his neck, burrowing underneath him to rub the base of his skull. He could feel her breath on his face and her breasts occasionally brushing against his chest. For a single delirious moment, he hoped she would kiss him, but then her fingers found just the right spot and his embarrassingly loud groan banished all thought away.
“Is that a good sound?” she asked, quietly.
“Wonderful,” he sighed, pressing into her hand somewhat shamelessly.
“Hmm,” she hummed, kneading him just a little bit harder, “this was easier when you were face down in my lap.”
Now there was a brilliant idea. He’d absolutely love to be face down in her lap while her fingers kneaded and maybe even clawed at his scalp. He couldn’t imagine anything more wonderful than having his head pillowed between her thighs, which would block out all light and sound, while she massaged his scalp and neck.
He floated in a wonderful dreamland for a little, buoyed by her fingers in his hair, where he was free to block out the rest of the world with her thighs.
An unknown amount of time passed before she removed one hand from his head to check on the cloth.
“Not really cold any more, is it?” she sighed, “Do you want me to go get another one?”
Go? No, he’d be quite happy if neither of them ever went anywhere ever again. He shook his head.
“Alright,” she set the cloth aside then used her skirt to gently dry his face, “how’s the migraine?”
Migraine? Oh, right. They were in this position for a reason.
“Terrible,” he lied, before he could think better of it. It was worth it for her little concerned sigh and the feel of her thumbs pressing into the stiff muscles along his neck.
“Here, roll over,” she said, removing her hands briefly.
He did as he was told, happy to do whatever she asked if it meant she would keep pampering him. But once he was on his stomach he discovered a problem.
“Oh, you’re so tense,” she murmured, hands returning to his neck, which did the exact opposite of fixing his problem.
“Uh-huh,” he said, as he tried to figure out what to do. He shifted and swallowed a moan as the movement created a delightful bit of friction along his sensitive head. And not the head on his neck, unfortunately.
Apparently, he was enjoying this a little too much.
Could he convince her to stop without making her a) suspicious or b) more concerned? Yeah, maybe, if he was somebody else who knew how to make words work in their favor.
Ok, ok, he could figure this out.
She accidentally tugged at his hair a little and he just barely kept from whimpering. Huh. He didn’t even realize he was into hair pulling. Learn something new everyday.
Not important! Think.
Right, so, it was the migraine that got him into this mess, maybe the migraine could get him out of it. He just had tea, right? He could say he needed to go to the restroom, but first she needed to make the path completely dark… which wouldn’t work because it was day out.
She made a quiet noise in the back of her throat and Bruno briefly wondered if he could offer to trade places with her. He had no idea what that would do to solve the problem, but he really liked picturing her face down on his bed, oiled up, and moaning.
Dios, he was making it worse.
He shifted again, and took in a slow deep breath as he waited for the resulting pleasure to pass. A traitorous voice pointed out to him that there was one sure fire way to make his erection disappear, but he ignored it.
“The rats,” he suddenly pushed himself up off the pillows as inspiration hit, then groaned and lay back down as his two heads reminded him they were both still sensitive in very opposite ways.
“The rats?” Leandra asked.
“They need dinner, but oof, my head,” he gestured at the tent flap, “could you feed them? Their food is downstairs, Julieta can show you where.”
“Oh, of course,” she stood up, “and I’ll take this stuff back while I’m at it.”
“Sí, perfect, that’s- I’ll wait here.”
Leandra collected the basket and nearly empty teapot and left the tent. He sat up and waited until he heard his door open and close. Bruno got out of the bed and hurried up the stairs, cracking his door open to make sure the coast was clear before he stepped into the hall. He snuck over to the bathroom, hunching forward just enough that even if he got caught his ruana would cover The Problem.
Once he was locked in the bathroom he froze. Now what?
He looked down at his hips, “Please go away.”
It didn’t.
Bruno closed his eyes and tried to think of the grossest things possible. Cleaning out the litter box, getting food poisoning at the Harvest Festival, Cicero, sand in all sorts of bad places, that time he walked in on Julieta and Agustín…
There was a knock at the door, Leandra’s voice reached him, “Bruno? You in here?”
“Uh sí.”
“Dinner’s ready, if you’re feeling up to it.”
Bruno glanced down at his hips, “Well, I’m up for something, that’s for sure.”
“What?”
“I’ll be right there! Just uh- don’t wait for me.”
“I’ll let them know.”
He listened as she walked away, letting his eyes slide shut as he sighed through his nose. He didn’t have time to do this the hard way.
“Damn it.”
Dios, what was he? 13? A pretty girl touches his hair a little and suddenly he’s hiding in the bathroom, like a pervert? Come on Madrigal, he berated himself, get it together!
The erection remained stubbornly in place.
He tossed his ruana over his shoulder and undid his pants with one hand while he grabbed some hand cream with another. It was some that Leandra had made, which was both very appropriate and inappropriate at the same time. He got his hand moistened up, wrapped it around the head of his cock and rubbed it in quick circles.
Leandra in soaked linen, Leandra grinning impishly while she called Bruno “guapo”, Leandra’s eyes sparking as she argues, Leandra bathing in front of him, Leandra in black silk. Leandra straddling his lap, pressing her naked chest to his face and pulling his hair-.
Bruno bit his tongue to keep from moaning out loud as he came in his hand. He kept his hand where it was and reached out with the other to grab a washcloth. Carefully, he cleaned himself up, then cleaned his hands and the cloth in the sink. He tossed the damp cloth in the hamper.
Finally, to give himself an alibi, he splashed some cold water on his face.
When he got to the table, they hadn’t even finished serving themselves. He sat down in the open seat next to Leandra, flattered to find that she’d been putting food on his plate for him. When his family expressed concern, he told them his migraine was almost completely gone, but his eyes were still a bit sensitive.
Nobody suspected a thing.
Leandra gently nudged her knee against his, “Next time we do this, I’m cutting you off at three visions. It’s not worth it if you hurt yourself.”
Bruno chuckled nervously, “Y-Yeah, that might be for the best.”

Yall can we get some bromance with agustín and Félix, those too would definitely have so many bromantic and may be joking about railing each other moments just saying 😞/j
Ay you know what- we don't fucking see them together that often. Lets GO??? Lets do these guys in their early adulthood, shall we?
Agustín yawned as he wrapped up his homework. He had a late start, but at the very least, it was done now. He put his book away in his bag, and was about to turn off the light in his room, when a sudden knock scared him silly. He looked towards the window, and aure enough, there was Félix. His best friend. He sighed, walking over to the window and opening it.
"Running from another ex, Félix?"
"Oye- what kinda greeting is that? ESPECIALLY your oh so very best friend inviting you to a party!"
"Tonight? Its a school night, Félix."
"So? Tomorrow is never promised. Come on! Get your swim trunks!"
Agustín raised a brow at his grinning friend.
"What-swimming? At NIGHT?"
"Yes, come on! I got a LOT of girls coming, and I swiped my brother Julio's beer. It's gonna be fun, but I can't have fun without my best friend!"
Agustín sighed.
"My parents won't let-"
"You sneak out my guy. Come oooon! We'll be back before you know it! When have I done you wrong?"
"Twenty five times."
Félix opened his mouth, closed it, then opened it again.
"Okay I didn’t expect an actual number. But I know what'll get you to say yes."
"What?"
"I invited Señorita Perfecta Julieta ~"
He had him. Agustín was one of the many boys who had a crush on Julieta, the eldest Madrigal child. The idea of sneaking off with her...in her bathing suit...he sighed, and nodded.
"Deal."
"ESO! Now, get your stuff, lock your door-"
"My door doesn't lock."
"Seriously? Ugh, only child bullshit. Fine, we'll do the faker tactic."
Félix came into his room, stuffed his pillows under the blanket, and after making sure it looked alright, started to crawl back out the window. Augustín grabbed his swim trunks, and accepted Félix's hand in order to climb out the window. Good thing he held on, his accident proned ass almost fell down the tree. Félix shut the window almost all the way, before helping him climb down to safety. He had a few cases of beer plopped into his arms, with Félix carrying twice as much. He gestured for him to follow, and to do so quietly. Not too quietly though, Félix could never be quiet for long.
"This is gonna be GREAT! We gonna see plenty of ladies in their sexy little two pieces, get a little drunk, and I even heard Ortiz stole a pack of his dad's smokes-rock!"
Félix bumped him away from a rock in the ground, and quickly grabbed him when the force almost sent him down. Agustín was clumsy as a child, and it never seemed to improve.
"Lo siento- it's still kinda dark."
"Eh it happens. Do me a favor though, if you fall, land on your back, not on the beer."
He of course meant more than the beers, but Félix always joked about his accident proned ass. He was lucky to have him as a friend despite this. He followed him into the woods, eventually coming to a well lit area. A hot spring, lit up by candles, and the commotion of party goers. After they got dressed, Félix, ever the social butterfly, stood up on a nearby rock, and showed off his prize.
"WHO'S READY TO PARTY?!"
The crowd roared in surprise, and as soon as they set the drinks on a nearby table, everyone went wild. Félix grinned as he saved Agustín from the crowd, arm wrapped around him, and two beers in his other hand.
"You're the life of the party, Félix."
"I try. Now, come on, salut with your bro."
Félix used a nearby rock to pop off the tops, and they both clanked their glasses together.
"Salut, Félix."
The beer was perfectly cold, and it felt incredible going down. Agustín was too young to drink, they ALL were, but thanks to Félix (and even Pepa), he's had a beer or two. Didn't LOVE them, soda definitely tasted better, but who didn't love a cold drink? Félix whistled as a couple of girls walked by, making it obvious he was looking.
"Happy you made it, chamaco?"
"Maybe a little. It's...definitely got a nice view."
Félix snorted, nudging him with his elbow.
"Ah, a breast man, eh? I'm more legs and ass, but to each his own-"
"Félix! Ven y únete a nosotras!~"
"And bring your cute little friend!~"
They both turned to the voice of VERY cute girls, who were flushed from the heat and party atmosphere. Félix finished the bottle in a hot second, before leaping into the pool, much to the delight of those already in it. Félix parted his soaked hair away from his face, to look at his friend.
"Come on! The water is GREAT!"
Augustín damn near choked as he finished his drink, adding his bottle to the ground with Félix's, before leaping towards the pool. His foot caught on a rock, and he faceplanted into the water, with his body landing on the cold hard ground. He heard the crowd exclaim in surprise, and he immediately whipped his head up. Félix looked ready to help him out, but Agustín wasn't having it. He pushed himself up and into the water, hearing cheers that followed as soon as he lifted himself back up. Félix laughed, before motioning to Agustín's face.
"You got a bloody nose, chamaco, head up."
Agustín accepted a napkin from someone outside of the pool, using it to hold against his nose. Worth it. He was about to ask Félix if he cleaned it up properly, before a shadow loomed over them.
"Hola Auggy~"
They both looked up at the voice. Pepa Madrigal. Showing LOTS of legs and chest in her shameless two piece. Now Agustín was more attracted to Julieta, but you put a pair of tits in front a boy, chances are he'll look.
"Uh...hola Pepa. You look nice."
"Gracias. Hola Félix~"
Félix nudged him out of the way, mumbling 'dibs' under his breath. A L O T of people liked Pepa, but no one more than Félix. He looked up at her like a lovesick puppy, with a hunger in his tone more akin to a wolf.
"Well buenas noches Pepa~...damn girl, you a bank? Because you got 'fine' all over you."
She giggled, slowly letting herself be drawn closer to him by her twin tails.
"Idiota...you're lucky you're cute."
"And you're lucky there's people around, mi vida."
Agustín groaned from the pain in his nose. He wasn’t gonna interrupt his buddies flow, but he was threatening to drip into the water.
"Hey, you okay?"
He looked up, and there she was. The most beautiful woman ever to exist. Julieta Madrigal. Hair lovely and curly, eyes soft and inviting, and just a big, sweaty set of...hearts, barely contained by her bra.
"I'm f-mierda!"
That REALLY hurt. He was pretty sure something was broken. He felt something slip into his hand, and immediately put it in his mouth, thinking it was her healing food. It was a towel. A used one.
"Oh my god I'm sorry I thought you just wanted to clean up-here I actually have an arepa for emergencies."
He was about to apologize for assuming, when he watched her pull an arepa. From her bra. He hesitated to bite into it, acknowledging the fact that this was technically touching her boobs, but bit into it when she looked at him oddly. He felt immediate relief as soon as the cheese hit his tongue, and started to wipe his face free of mess.
"Thank you. I needed that."
Oh the smile she gave. She was just so goddamn pretty. Félix looked up at both the girls, still fiddling with one of Pepa's ponytails.
"How'd you girls make it tonight anyway? Doesn't your mami watch you guys like a hawk?"
Pepa shrugged.
"Bruno is faking being sick for us. I THINK he volunteered because he gets to act. And get all of mami's attention."
"How do you fake being sick when your sister makes healing food?"
"Bruno is REALLY good at it. Mama won't know we're gone. Which is great, Julieta needed a break."
Julieta shrugged a bit, pushing some hair behind her ear in just the cutest way possible.
"It...IS nice to be out. Is the water nice?"
Félix spoke for him, clearly playing the wing man. Félix was ALWAYS trying to get them alone together.
"Why not come in and see, Jules?"
He grabbed her hand, and yanked her into the water. She cried out in surprise before she hit the water, and upon coming back up, immediately splashed Félix in retaliation.
"Oye- that was so MEAN Félix!"
"You're just mad because you dunno how to have fun!"
"Don't have fun without me, idiota!"
Pepa jumped in right after, nearly sending Félix down with her. Not that he seemed to particularly mind. Agustín wasn't gonna lie, he was having fun. Bathing in hot water, getting to talk to Julieta (he learned she loved mint, and made it a point to look for the proper cologne later), having shitty beers, and watching everyone just run amok. Julieta tried to ask Félix for another bottle, only to immediately cover the side of her face, cheeks ablaze. Agustín wasn't surprised that Pepa and Fèlix were making out, just that it took this long. Agustín snickered, trying to help her by offering his hand to help block the view.
"Hey, at least she's happy."
"I...suppose. I am too though. Félix said you'd be here, and it's...kinda why I came."
Oh he felt his ears buzzing, he felt his heart pounding as she looked up at him with those big, pretty eyes. He gulped, a bit louder than he meant to.
"You...came here for me?"
"And because Pepa insisted she 'say hi to Félix', but yes. I like talking to you. You're sweet."
There was silence between them, and he decided to pluck up the courage.
"Do you...wanna get out of here?"
"If you could bring me a towel, then yes."
Holy shit. He was walking out of here with Julieta Madrigal? He was dreaming. He caught Félix giving him a thumbs up mid make out as he got out of the water, walking to get her a towel. Then he heard laughter. Eyes were on him, and many pointed. Sure his shorts had rubber ducks on them, but this seemed a bit much.
"Agustín tiene una gamba!"
He looked down at himself, and realized in between it all, his shorts came off. He was naked. His face burned as he tried to cover both his front and the back, and the crowd erupted in laughter. Julieta wasn't looking at him, but Pepa and Fèlix definitely were. No way would someone as socially important as him would wanna be friends with him. He could imagine the shrimp related nicknames, and could picture the bromance break up so clearly. Then Fèlix got out of the water, standing next to him. Agustín yelled/whispered.
"What are you DOING?!"
"Shh, I got a plan."
Félix then just took off his swim wear, holding it up in the air like a damn flag.
"Tira, perras!"
Almost immediately, people started to cheer. Men took of swim trunks, girls took off their tops- it was a MAD HOUSE of nude, drunk idiots. A guy in the back, definitely on the wasted end, wooped as he held up his boxers.
"Fuck yeah Agustín!!!"
There were chants of 'Agustín' over and over, with Félix not only being the loudest voice out there, but the guy who held him still as people DOUSED him in the shittiest, coldest beer. He sat there, body hot from the water but quickly cooling thanks to the drinks. He was basking in the attention, in the adoration, and honestly? He was glad Félix talked him into this.
--------------------
"Shhh!!! cállate!"
Félix snickered as his buddy helped him inside. It was WAY late, but who cared? They saw, they drank, Félix made out with the cutest girl in their class- it was a good night. Agustín reached into his closet, handing him a fresh towel. Félix snickered as he ran the towel over his body, drying himself just enough so he could sit on his buddies bed. As he rubbed it over his hair, he looked at his buddy with a smirk on his face.
"That's rude, given the fact that I made you the 'it' guy at the party! They were chanting your NAME, chamaco!"
Agustín looked a little embarrassed, given his red ears, before he chuckled.
"It...was nice. Thanks for the save, by the way. You didn't have to do that."
"What? And let you drown? Never. We've been friends since we were like, six. You aren't getting rid of my ass. Speaking of, guess who kept looking at YOURS, my guy!"
Félix leaned over to smack his little white ass, making him yelp. Agustín still couldn't find his clothes after the party, so they both made it here naked as the day they were born. Agustín huffed, turning to keep his ass away from him.
"Julieta was just in shock. I just think- okay can you put YOUR shorts on? THIS, is very distracting."
"Nope, that's not how my bros work. You gonna see my dick until it stops being weird."
"W-HOW?"
Félix leaned back, legs open, gesturing for him to look.
"We just need this little pow wow- look at it."
"I'm NOT looking at it."
"Dude I've LIVED this. Look at my dick for a minute."
Agustín didn't, and only looked at his face when he snapped his fingers.
"Félix dude come on, it's one thing to occasionally see it in the locker room-"
"Dude trust me. I've done this with all my friends. Just like a minute. Literally I've been staring at yours this whole conversation."
Agustín covered himself in shame, before groaning as he relented. Félix sat back still and let Agustín full on look at his dick. A few seconds into it, Agustín finally spoke.
"I. I kinda see what you see mean."
"SEE!? Now you can see my dick at any point and it's not weird. Especially the dick of the guy who got you Julieta's attention ~"
He nudged his buddy until he got a grin out of him.
"Don't. I know where this is going, dude."
"Come on, who takes care of you?"
"You."
"I'm not hearing you!"
Félix wrapped his arm around Agustín's head, bringing him into the bed with him and giving him a noogie. Agustín laughed, trying in vain to get Félix off of him.
"You, alright!? Come on dude, get off!"
"Aw, come on 'Auggy'! You gonna let me pick on you? Huh? Huh?"
So he was being a bit much. He was drunk, his buddy was drunk, they were happy, you couldn't blame him. He couldn't help bullying his little buddy, just a bit.
"Dude, seriously, you're heavy! And Gordo!"
"Oye-big talk from a guy LITERALLY pinned under me right now."
It was innocent, boys being boys type shit. Until the door opened.
"Agustín, honey? We heard a noise-"
Agustín's parents were right there, and Fèlix felt himself freeze. They were all frozen, until Agustín finally said something.
"Maman, Papa! It's n-not what it looks like!"
Okay, so he was nude, on top of his friend, who was also nude. In his room. In his bed. In the early morning. Looked a LITTLE weird. His mother gulped, looking pale in the face.
"Dear god, please tell me you use protection."
"What? No no no, I don't! I-"
His mom fainted. Full on fainted. Fell like a sack of potatoes onto the floor. Her husband immediately tried to help her up, and Agustín looked at Félix, in PURE panic.
"WHY WOULD YOU SAY THAT?!"
"I'm sorry! Look if I was fucking your tiny ass I WOULD wrap it, I promise!"
"THAT'S NOT H E L P I N G, FÉLIX."
His dad looked up at him, panicking just as hard.
"Félix please, at LEAST put some clothes on!!"
Right. He was still naked as hell. He got off of Agustín, quickly put on his shorts, and tried to help his mom. She came to, only to faint again upon seeing Félix. Well you know what they say.
It's not a real party till someone faints.

i adore your bookclub fics and i am wondering do you have hcs for what the madrigals love to read? 📖💕
Tumblr media
Oh! Oh! The best thing a bookseller could be asked for! THEMED RECOMMENDATIONS!! These are based on my knowledge as a UK bookseller but most of these should be available in other places too. Okay so:
Bruno: The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo, Taylor Jenkins Reid. My boy loves a melodramatic, tragic love story. He read The Bath Scene in Malibu Rising and didn't speak for an entire day, he was so bereft. Pepa: The Mercies, Kiran Millwood Hargrave. It's a period peice, it's emotional but not soul-destroying, it's perfect for a day when the crops need a watering. Julieta: Midnight Chicken, Ella Risbridger. This is a stunning cookbook/memoir about a woman finding healing and love through food. The prose is so soothing, and the food is delicious too! It'd be right up Juli's street. Abuela: Anything Agatha Christie, but especially Miss Marple stories. She likes a book where the murder is solved by the end. Agustín: Norwegian Wood: The guide to chopping, stacking and drying wood the Scandinavian way, Lars Mytting. He wants to be a rugged woodsman SO BAD, you guys. Félix: He buys a biography about a musician he likes every so often, but really he just reads whatever Pepa is reading so she has someone to talk about it with. They read together in bed. Félix wears little wire-rimmed reading glasses. Isabela: This Poison Heart, Kalynn Bayron. A girl who can summon forth plants at her will inherits an old, creepy house and fills it with poisonous plants. Isa read it in one night. Luisa: Heartstopper, Alice Oseman. Fluffy, adorable, romantic, features cute dogs. Luisa all over. Mirabel: Her Dark Wings, Melinda Salisbury. This one's not out yet so a kindly bookseller would have to sneak her a proof, but it's about a girl who lives in the shadow of her best friend finding her own power in the Underworld (and grabbing the attention of a Sexy Lord Of The Dead. Mira's just starting to like the idea of a brooding, angsty love interest, as we all do at 15. She'll soon be introduced to Rhysand in Court of Thorns and Roses...) Dolores: Act Your Age, Eve Brown, Talia Hibbert. A fluffy romcom with some REALLY GOOD SMUT. She read The Desk Scene and her cheeks burned for the rest of the day. (Seriously. Read Talia Hibbert. You'll thank me.) Camilo: Loki: A Bad God's Guide To Being Good by Louie Stowell. In my head Camilo is a tiny bit less confident than his primas and sister with his reading, but he likes the scribbly pictures and that Loki gets up to a ton of trouble...once he's done with them, he lends them to Antonio as an excuse to re-read them to his brother. Antonio: Grimwood, Nadia Shireen. He loved Barbara Throws A Wobbler, but Bruno got sick of reading it every night so they moved on to a chapter book by the same author. Lots of animals, lots of chances for silly voices.

Natalia walked in quietly through the front door of the casita, being extra careful to not make too much noise with her high heels clicking on the ground. She had a singing gig earlier that evening that went a bit late into the night, with her arriving home around 1 am. She had planned her week around this particular gig, as it was a large fancy annual party in town that paid her well. She would open the bakery a little later than usual the next morning to make sure she got some sleep and had time to prep.
That evening she wore a sleek black velvet cocktail dress that went down to just above her knees, with a sweetheart neckline and off the shoulder long sleeves. She had black high heels on to match, something she was very excited to take off soon. She had on long goldleaf earrings and her hair was tied up in an elegant high bun on her head. She wore her engagement ring and wedding band on her left hand and a thin gold band on her right hand. Around her neck she wore a necklace that had been Bruno and their children's birthday gift to her that year–a delicate gold chain with a charm made up of three interlocking silver circles, each circle containing the names of one of the kids on it. Emilia had worn the necklace every single day since she'd received it, making sure to always keep it close to her heart.

Her lips were painted a deep blood red and she wore striking black mascara and winged eyeliner that brought out her emerald eyes. Bruno had not gotten to see Natalia before the event, as she had to get ready and leave straight from the bakery to make it to the party on time. She was very happy with how her outfit and overall look had come together and was a bit disappointed that Bruno would be asleep before he could see her.
When she walked a few steps into the house, she was surprised to see that the light in the living room was still on. She figured someone must have left it on by mistake and walked over to shut it off. She was surprised and amused to see her husband fast asleep on the couch, a book he'd been reading still in his hand laying across his chest.
She approached him, and gently nudged him on the shoulder.
"Amor?" She whispered.
Bruno stirred, blinking slightly before fully looking up to see his wife standing in front of him. He took a moment to process his surroundings, before breaking out into a smile.
"Hi my love." He said breathlessly. "Look how gorgeous you are, Dios mío."
Natalia's heart stirred. She hated to have to wake him but was happy that he did get to see her in her work getup after all. And, admittedly, she found his scratchy "just waking up" voice to be very sexy.
Bruno sat up on the couch, moving his book to the side. He scratched the back of his neck and then stretched before taking another long look at Natalia.
He felt like his head was swimming watching the way her velvet dress hugged her body, the way her collarbones teased him as she moved. The shade of her lips seemed to be calling to him, she completely took his breath away.
"I must have dozed off after I put the kids to bed but–my god Natalia, look at you."
Natalia giggled, approaching him and lovingly placing her hand on his cheek before she leaned down and kissed him deeply.
"Thank you baby. I'm sorry I had to wake you up."
*************************
"Oh, don't be sorry." Bruno said, his tone low and flirtatious. "I would've never forgiven myself if I missed seeing you in this."
He pulled Natalia in closer to kiss her again, and as their kisses grew more intense she crawled into his lap, wrapping her arms around his neck.
He ran his hands along her back, enjoying the feeling of the velvet fabric along his fingertips. When their lips parted he began kissing along her jawline, his breathing growing heavier the more of her skin he tasted. Her breathing quickened as well, feeling the warmth of his lips on her skin and his hands discovering every inch of her.
"Should we take this upstairs?" Natalia exhaled softly into his ear, biting his earlobe gently as she finished speaking.
Bruno felt like his entire body was aflame, and wordlessly picked her up under her legs and rushed up the stairs, leaving his book to fall on the floor behind them. Natalia laughed and kissed his cheek over and over again as he carried her.
He set her down on the ground in their bedroom, locking the door behind them. Natalia made a show of slipping her panties off and kicking them away from her with her high heel before taking them off as Bruno watched. He rushed up to her and kissed her again, guiding her to sit on his lap on the bed.
She kissed along his neck and bit along his collarbone while she unbuttoned his shirt, pulling it off as quickly as she could. She felt him getting harder and harder beneath her, and gave him a devilish grin as she undid the zipper of his pants and let his erection out of it.
Bruno sighed as she stroked along his length, throbbing with need for her.
"Lift me up and take me, Bruno." Natalia whispered in his ear, making him shiver.
He took her by her waist and lifted her up gently, guiding her back down slowly as she slid down onto him. Both of them exhaled in relief as he filled her, the skirt of her dress floating around them. Her legs on either side of her, she began to slowly rock back and forth, throwing her head back behind her. Bruno pulled the front of her dress down, revealing her breasts to him. He leaned forward and kissed along one of her breasts, biting down gently on one of her nipples.
"Bruno–"  Natalia breathed, her back arching further as he claimed her with his mouth.
He pulled his lips back from her chest and found the zipper on the back of her dress. He unzipped it and immediately began to explore the warm, soft skin on her back. She began to increase the speed of her bounces and Bruno wrapped his arms around her waist, holding onto her tightly as they made wordless, passionate love to one another.
When they pulled back from their embrace, their eyes met. The look Natalia gave Bruno made him feel weak all over–a hungry, needy, desperately turned on expression that further fanned the flame inside of him.
He switched their position, laying Natalia flat on her back on their bed. She pulled her sleeves out of her dress and he helped her tug the rest of it off, throwing it away from them. He took off the rest of his clothing quickly and then slid back inside of her, watching proudly as she moaned deeply upon his entrance. He loved the way her styled hair was becoming messier by the second on their pillows, the soft jingling of her earrings as he ravaged her, the smell of her perfume lingering in the air. They were more in love with each other than ever, and both of them knew all of the exact ways to make each other feel incredible.
Natalia moaned softly over and over again as Bruno thrust into her, putting her arms behind her trying to find a pillow to grab on to. Bruno saw this and pinned her arms down instead, making her need for him triple in an instant. She loved it when he took control like this, and surrendered to him completely.
As Bruno increased in speed,Natalia gasped, feeling her orgasm rising up to the surface at a blistering pace.
"Fuck, Bruno, baby-!" She cried out in attempt at a hushed voice, barely able to control her volume.
"Are you going to come for me, bella?" Bruno growled, his bright green eyes making her heart pound even harder. "I want to feel you come around me."
"God, yes, yes–" Natalia's eyes closed tightly as she felt her orgasm clench around him inside of her, a kaleidoscope of colors appearing behind her eyes as wave after wave of pleasure coursed through her.
Bruno was, as was so often the case, completely awed by her beauty as she moved beneath him. He let go of her arms and kissed her deeply, and she instantly wrapped her arms around his back. She moved her hands and ran her nails all along his back before moving to his chest and stomach, trying to touch as much of him as she possibly could. Feeling her touch him and the look in her eyes as she did, he reached his own peak with a deep, satisfied moan.
He pulled out of her and then laid down beside her. She immediately turned to him and they began to kiss passionately once again, both of them barely able to breathe.
"You are so sexy." Natalia said in a warm voice as their lips parted.
"You make me crazy, baby." Bruno responded, taking her by the chin and kissing her again. "I'm so in love with you."
"I love you more every second, Bruno Madrigal." Natalia sighed, her eyes sparkling as she looked at him.
"I'm sorry I ruined your lovely hairdo. And lipstick." Bruno chuckled.
"I happen to love when you ruin me." Natalia flirted, making butterflies fill up Bruno's stomach.
"I very nearly just took you right there on the living room couch."
Natalia let out a low laugh. "Mm, as fun as that sounds that's all we'd need is to have one of our kids come down for a glass of water and we have to explain the "special hug" Mom and Dad are doing."
*************************
Bruno laughed, putting his arm around her shoulders. She snuggled up close to him, running her fingers through the patch of hair on his chest.
"You did like the outfit though?" She asked.
Bruno kissed her forehead. "I loved it, truly. You are absolutely stunning. Have I seen that dress before?"
"You have not, I just recently got it from Isabela's boutique for this party specifically. I saw it in the window and absolutely had to have it. Isabela, the lovely but stubborn girl that our niece is, refused to let me pay for it so I insisted on repaying her in blueberry desserts from the bakery."
"I watched her unhinge her jaw like a snake and eat like six of those blueberry tarts that you make in one sitting one time." Bruno said, looking off faux seriously into the distance. "It was both fascinating and terrifying to watch."
Natalia started giggling wildly, making Bruno start to laugh along with her.
"Isabela, destroyer of blueberries." Natalia said in a deep, announcer-like voice. "Along with her sister, Luisa, champion of chocolate."
"Mmmm, now I'm thinking about that cake you make for Luisa's birthday every year." Bruno said longingly.
"I've asked her if she wanted a different kind since the first one at the beach party but she insists on the same one every year."
"Can you blame her?"
"Not at all, it's so good."
"I'm sorry, I just realized that we got so...busy as soon as you got home that I forgot to ask, how was your show tonight?"
"It went great thank you! Being on my feet in those heels for all those hours is always a pain, but it's a beautiful party and the crowd was lovely."
Bruno kissed the top of her hand. "Well, they're very lucky to have the most talented and beautiful cantante in all the lands performing for them."
"You're sweet." Natalia said, her cheeks blushing. "I'm just lucky that this cantante caught your eye all those years ago."
"Caught my eye?" Bruno said with a laugh. "You rocked my entire world and changed my life in a split second. You didn't catch anything, you damn near pulled my eyes out of my skull!"
Natalia laughed. "So did you. My heart went absolutely berserk the first time I saw you." She kissed him gently, lingering just a moment before pulling back. "Still does, every single time."
"Te amo, mi ángel." Bruno said softly, both of them closing their eyes as their foreheads touched.
"Te amo, my darling." Natalia whispered back. She backed up to let out a small yawn.
"You should get some sleep now, amor." Bruno said. "If you want to go get ready for bed I'll hang your dress up."
"Thank you baby." Natalia said appreciatively, putting on her pajamas and heading to the bathroom to wash up.
Bruno was half-asleep by the time Natalia came back in the room, but he felt her crawl in bed beside him and wrap her arms around his waist. She snuggled up into his back and exhaled happily, making him smile. Both of them fell into a warm, happy, sleep.

When Bruno woke up the next morning Natalia had already left for work. He got up and dressed, got his kids up and starting their days, and then headed downstairs to get some coffee.
He passed by the living room and heard a voice call out to him.
"Morning Brunito!"
"Morning Pepa!" Bruno replied with a small wave.
"Is this your book on the floor?" Pepa asked, holding up the slightly worse for wear book in her hand.
Bruno grinned to himself, the events of the night before flashing through his mind. He had been far too distracted by his wife to notice he'd dropped the book on the floor.
"Oh, yeah it is. Must've dropped it on my way upstairs last night." He said as innocently as possible. "Thanks!"
Emilia flew down from the balcony and landed next to Bruno.
"Morning tía!" She exclaimed, running up to Pepa and hugging her tightly.
"Good morning mi pajarita!" Pepa said with a big smile as she hugged her niece, a sparkling rainbow appearing lovingly above her head.
"Your rainbows are always so pretty, tía." Emilia said with a big grin.
"Gracias, Emi!" Pepa replied cheerfully, run her hand affectionately along Emilia's hair.
"Daddy, can I have coffee too?" Emilia asked Bruno, full of excitement. "I want to try it!!"
Bruno laughed. "I'm afraid not mi amor. You have plenty of energy as it is."
"But I want to try it!" Emilia repeated with a pout.
"We have some decaf coffee she could try?" Pepa suggested with a shrug.
"Oh yeah, I totally forgot about that. I'll make you a little cup of the decaf if you want, how's that?"
Emilia jumped up and down, floating just a bit with each jump. ""Yeah yeah!"
Bruno and Emilia went into the kitchen and he made her a small cup of decaf coffee.
"Do you want me to put a little cream and sugar in here for you?” Bruno asked. “It'll be bitter if you don't."
"Do you put cream and sugar in yours?" Emilia asked.
"Well no, I don't put anything in mine, but–"
"Then I want that!"
Bruno chuckled. "Okay, if you're sure!"
He handed her the tiny coffee cup. "Ten cuidado, it's hot."
Emilia blew on the coffee a bit and then took a small sip. Bruno couldn't help but laugh as her face contorted and scrunched up immediately.
"Pues?" Bruno asked.
"Eww, nope!! Thanks anyway Dad!" She said matter-of-factly, and then flew out of the room. She nearly crash landed into Félix who was passing her in the hallway.
"Captain Em, coming through!" He laughed as she whizzed by.
"Morning, hermano!" Félix said to Bruno.
"Morning Félix! My daughter here decided she just had to try some black coffee today, so I made her a little cafecito of decaf and she was not into it."
Félix laughed. "If there is one child that does not need coffee, it's her. I thought Camilo was hectic."
"He was and is." Bruno joked. "That's why those two are two peas in a pod."
"Ha, fair!" Félix replied. “How are you feeling about Luna's gift ceremony coming up? Wild that she's turning five already!"
"Tell me about it." Bruno said with a nostalgic smile. "It's a cliché but they really do grow up so fast, time has flown."
"Tell me about it, bro!" Felix laughed. "Our youngest is fifteen now!"
"Impossible." Bruno said with an incredulous smile, shaking his head.
"We all thought we were done with little ones in the casita for a while and then you have to go fall in love and start your own family. Thanks Bruno!" Felix teased.
Bruno laughed. "Yeah, sorry about that. But en serio, we're thrilled for Luna. She's really looking forward to it and I know Natalia will feel much better knowing exactly what we'll be dealing with moving forward. She's been really nervous before all the kids ceremonies."
"Oh, I was too." Felix said. "I think that's the responsibility of the spouse that married in, because they're not fully used to all this magical craziness yet."
"At the very least none of our kids like, breathe fire or have knives for hands or anything." Bruno said.
"Better knock on wood, bro." Felix half joked. "Don't call that into existence!"
Bruno chuckled, thinking back to how superstitious he used to be in the days before Natalia came into his life. He was much less so now, but knocked on the kitchen table just to be safe.
Bruno and Felix chatted a bit more, and then Bruno headed out to formally start his day. He had plenty on his mind that day as he thought of the next few weeks and how Luna's fifth birthday/gift ceremony would close a chapter for him and Natalia's part of the family and start a different, but equally wonderful, new one. He smiled to himself, knowing more than ever how important it was to savor every moment with the people he loved most.

Te Deseo Lo Mejor (pt 4)
Bruno Madrigal x O/C Angst/Sexy Dancing lol
Tumblr media
Ay, amor, me duele tanto. . . Me duele tanto.. Que te fueras sin decir a dónde Ay, amor, fue una tortura perderte. . .
Valeria would never forget the night she first met Bruno Madrigal. The rhythm of the music that played around the Encanto was intoxicating as she swayed her hips alongside her primas.
The Madrigals had thrown another party and Valeria was certainly glad she let her cousins drag her along with them this time. After a few drinks, they all had made their way to the middle of the floor where a small crowd of people were dancing, and happily joined in. The smell of food, alcohol and a mix of the senores sweet tobacco smoke filled the air as she danced the night away, forgetting what they were even celebrating. Little unbeknownst to her, a pair of green eyes had been watching her. Entranced by the swinging of her hips as she danced freely around the room, hands tangled in her hair as she let the beat of the music take her away.
"Mira Agustín! Bruno's finally got his eyes on someone!" said Felix, as he gave the back of Bruno's back a harsh slap, causing some of his untouched drink to spill out a bit. Bruno forced his eyes away from Valeria's swaying body and down towards his feet. "N-no, no. I was just-" "Ay, Bruno. It's okay to look! No harm in that, eh? She's a pretty one!" he said jokingly, nudging the sides of Bruno's arm. Agustín shook his head and slapped the back of Felix's head. "Ya! Be careful Pepa doesn't hear you! The last thing we need is for her to get jealous and start a rainstorm." said Agustín, glancing about the room to spot his sister in law. Bruno had glanced back up at Valeria and gulped at the thought of her dancing form in the rain as her wet clothes clung to her body- "Ay Brunito, talk to her! Turn up the charm!" said Felix, shimmying his arms out and swaying his hips. "Pero don't be forceful, be respectable. But also compliment her-" said Agustín. "Si, si- Dile que es hermosa! Pero unbutton your shirt a bit como yo, mira-" said Felix as he began undoing two buttons of Bruno's shirt. Bruno sighed at his brother in laws as they continued on to try and give him advice. Their voices were beginning to fade out as he lifted his eyes back to watch her dance.
"Mira, mira! One of the Madrigal men is looking at you!" one of her primas said, nudging her side for her to focus. The swaying of Valeria's hips calmed down as she looked behind to where her cousin was nodding her head over to. Bruno tensed as he locked eyes with her and heat sprung up into Valerias body when she noticed how intensely he was looking at her before she caught him. "Luckyyy, I wanna be with a Madrigal!" whined her other prima as Valeria gave Bruno a smile. He turned his head, thinking she was smiling at someone else before turning back and giving her a small wave. "I heard he gives bad visiones, like he's kind of the odd one of the three." said her prima as she turned back to them to continue dancing. Valeria shrugged, not really caring for the rumors that circled around town. "Maybe he'll give me a good one." she said, smiling cheekily over to her cousins. They squealed and giggled as she continued to dance, occasionally glancing over her shoulder to see if Bruno was still staring.
He was. The music had died down a bit and la banda had changed the beat to a calmer rhythm. Valeria casually walked her way over to where Bruno was by the small drinking station (that Casita had generously set up for the party). Bruno froze up the moment he realized she was walking towards him and took a quick chug of his drink. "Hola!" Valeria said happily, the alcohol in her body had given her the confidence to walk up to him so calmly. She watched as Bruno stared at her in shock, probably because he hadn't expected her to approach him. "H-Hola-ahem! M-Mucho gusto." he said softly, trying to avoid staring at the faint beads of sweat dripping down her plump chest. Felix and Agustíns mouths dropped as she stood in front of Bruno (also not expecting her to approach him first) and quickly scurried away, leaving the two of them alone as the band began playing their next song. "Quieres bailar conmigo?" she said, raising her voice a bit as the music got louder. Bruno looked behind her at the crowd of people dancing around happily, before turning back to her. "I uh, I don't really dance. W-Well I do! I like it but- I've never uhm- Ay, cómo se dice-" "Never had a good partner?" she mused, smiling at him. Bruno sighed and nodded his head with a small chuckle. "Si, Heh, you could say that." He mumbled. She reached out her hand towards him, motioning him over. "Come, I think I could be a good one." Bruno looked hesitantly at her welcoming hand, then back up at her eyes with a warm smile. He placed his drink behind him on the counter, Casita happily whisking it away, as he let her lead him to the dance floor. He stood there awkwardly for a moment, staring at her dancing, before she took his hands and placed them on her hips. "I thought you said you liked to dance?" she said with a laugh. Bruno shook his head shyly and avoided her gaze. "I-I don't think my family has seen me dance before-or anyone really-" he said, frantically looking around the room. But Valeria turned his head back to look at her. "Déjalos mirar! It's just me and you dancing, right?" Bruno's shoulders relaxed at her words and he nodded, cracking a smile as his grip slightly tightened on her hips as he began swaying with the beat. "Esooo!" she cheered happily as Bruno began to loosen up and bring her body closer to his, swinging his hips with hers along with the rhythm of the music. Valeria wrapped her hands around his neck as they danced to the music. Their noses were barely touching at how close their bodies had gotten, fading out everyone else in the room.
"Soy, Bruno." he said, slightly out of breath as leaned in to her ear. His hot breath sending chills down her neck.
"Yo sé." she said with a bright smile as the two of them continued to dance the night away.
The night you met was the first time Bruno had felt that relaxed and free since the day he got his gift. · · · · · · · · · · Valeria had awoken the next day with a jolt, clutching the blankets around her hands, turning her knuckles white. It took her a moment to realize she was in the bedroom. The sheets surrounding her were messy and bundled. Clearly her nieces and Camilo had woken up earlier and let her sleep in some more. Plopping back down on the pillows with a sigh, she frowned up at the ceiling, silently cursing herself for dreaming about Bru- him. The sound of tiles tapping against the bed pulled her from her mental debate. But she rolled her eyes and flipped herself to the opposite side of the bed. "No, I'm mad at you too." she said to Casita. She truly was. The least this house could've done was give her a heads up. The windows creaked open and waved a bit letting fresh breeze and sun flight seep through. Clearly Pepa had calmed down. The tiles began tapping against the bed again, this time leading up to the door, letting it open and swing back and forth a bit. Casita was clearly trying to get her out of bed. "Fine. I'm only getting up because I want some coffee, not because I'm listening to you." Valeria said bitterly. The windows tilted a bit, but quickly perched back up as she grumpily made her way out the bedroom. The smell of cafecito practically had her floating in a daze to the kitchen. As she tiredly walked down the stairs, her eyes glanced over to the candle perched on Almas window. It's bright light slightly flickering as her eyes glazed over it.
Maybe it's just the wind. . . Most of the family was seated at the table, but froze in their conversation once they noticed Valeria's form in the archway. Camilo smiled brightly at her and started waving happily. “Tía!” He yelled. Dolores winced beside him and clamped her hands over her ears, nudging her elbow to his side harshly. “B-Buenos Días..” Valeria croaked out. She winced at how coarse her voice sounded. But the family greeted her as if nothing was wrong, forced small smiles plastered on their faces as they carefully watched her make her way over to them. “Ven, Mija. Have something to eat.” Said Alma with a warm smile as she gestured to the empty seat by her. Valeria tried not to grumble, only wanting a cup of coffee and to go back upstairs to curl in her sheets. Making her way over to the table, Casita hastily made her coffee and roll your plate of food over. She tried to ignore her usually spot and Bruno’s empty chair beside it and plopped down in the middle of Alma and Camilo. She noticed Bruno's plate had already been taken away, probably due to Alma’s request. Pepa stared at Valeria from across the table with a worried look, probably noticing the redness and puffiness of her eyes, but Julieta nudged her sisters side and gestured above the small fog forming above her. “Bueno…” started Alma. Valeria felt her heart sink, knowing where this was going to go. “As we all know, Bruno has left this family." said Alma, far too calmly for Valeria's liking. Tension immediately filled the room and Valeria felt eyes glancing over at her, but hers was locked on the coffee that Casita had rolled over to her. She played with the wedding band on her finger, it's gold shine reflecting back at her almost mockingly. "I will speak with the town once they start noticing his absence. Mija, I think it's best if you stay in the Casita for a few days until then. Julieta and Pepa will help you clean out his things from your room. I will also speak with Mirabel today, try to explain why she was not given a door. . Not that any of us know. . " she said, taking a sip of her coffee. Valeria looked up at her, surprised at how calm she was acting about this, as if Bruno was some worker that had simply quit his job. "Espere, you want me to just wait around the house? Like some boba?" said Valeria, clutching on to the small cup in her hands. "Si, Mama maybe we should take some time to-" tried Pepa, but Alma lifted her hand to speak. "Valeria the sooner you realize he never cared for you or this family the better. He left us. He left you. And for what? " she said with a shrug. Valeria felt her eyes sting, but she refused to let them fall. She was so tired of crying.. "How could you say that? He loves me, he loves this family!" Valeria said, raising her voice. She didn't know why she was defending Bruno. Perhaps it just became natural for her to defend him against Almas often harsh words. Besides this wouldn't have happened if she hadn't asked him to have those visions in the first place-
"Then why did he leave?!" she shouted back, slamming her hand on the table. Valeria flinched back, not exactly knowing how to answer. Her mind flashed to the green glass she found in his tower. She knew somewhat of why he might have left but yet. . didn't understand how he could actually bring himself to do it. Alma sighed and reached over to hold one of Valeria's hands gently. "Lo siento Mija, I am not angry with you. I just want what is best for our family. I do not want you to feel abandoned as I felt when I lost Pedro. . So we must carry on. Forget these unfortunate events that have happened to us these past few days. . and move on. For this family. . and for our Encanto." Valeria barely noticed the tears that fell from her eyes as she stared down at her coffee. The burning sensation started to boil up against her chest as her mind raced. How could a mother be perfectly fine with just forgetting her own son? To force his wife to forget him? "Alma, I can't just forget Bru.." she sighed, lifting a hand up to her face as she let out a sob. Camilo had leant in closer to her, clenching his small fist around the sleeve of her shirt, noticing her trembling. The fog that Pepa was frantically trying to fan away, had already turned into a small cloud as she stared sadly at Valeria's crying, her hands over her chest with a sad frown as Felix tried to shoo Pepa's cloud away. Julieta and Agustín were by Valeria's side in no time, shushing her quiet sobs as Agustín placed his head on top of hers, nuzzling it affectionately as Julieta wiped her tears, uttering soothing words. "You have to try Mija . . You have to try. . ."

I hate the stereotype of fathers hating their daughters boyfriends and mothers hating their sons girlfriends, but for some reason I love the idea of Pepa LOATHING Camilo’s future gf. Like that’s her little boy, thats the one who was attached at her hip since day one, who cried bloody murder whenever she put him down or stepped away, is third on her list of people able to calm her down easiest (Félix being number one and Julieta being number 2. Mirabel clocks in at number 4, Antonio at number 5, Dolores at 6, and Agustín of all people is trailing the pack at number 7) her first boy, THE first boy out of the grandkids, he’s just so wholesome and sweet…. And then here comes this woman, who clearly will never be good enough for him and is obviously just using him for his magic and for the Madrigal name, to take him away from her.
I also see something similar but not really with Félix and Dolores. He likes Mariano, he’s fine, a bit dim perhaps but he treats her good and makes her happy. But then he sees him kiss her goodbye, DARING to hold his little girl by her hips as he does, dancing super inappropriately with her (ya know, they’re dancing’s with about half the bedroom eyes and sexiness him and Pepa use when they dance)… and all of a sudden Félix doesn’t really like Mariano anymore.
