Crush Culture AU

Today was the worst day for a guy like him . Where love is in the air and it seems he's allergic because nobody wants to take an interest in a boy that is nerdy and never seems to know when to shut up . And it didn't help his sad love life when today is spent giving chocolates , stuffed animals , and cheesy cards .

Have you guys guess what day it is ?

Ding !! Ding !! ... Valentine's Day !

He dread every second of the day as he walked down the school hallway . Every turn he was faced with hormonal teenagers kissing their S.O. He picks up his pace to head to his friends hangout . Which consisted of Sam , Miguel , Robby , Chris , Aisha ,Tory , Mitch , and Eli and himself .

It was an unusual group , Sam and Tory didn't get along but both were friends with Aisha . Miguel and Robby would bicker and clash with the whole history of love triangle with Sam but they both tried to get along .

Miguel and Robby tried not to fight that often , After all they were being raised by Mr.Lawrence Along side with Mr. Larusso .

Somehow the the dynamic worked . Pulling out his phone as he receives a message from Sam reminding him of the gift for Robby . They all had decided to give something to the blonde , Robby had a rough year . With his mom going to rehab , Sam dating Miguel , and thinking his dad loves Miguel more . He sends her quick telling her he didn't forget .

Robby was gifted cards , candy , stuffed animals , their goal was achevied when the blond had a bashful smile carrying his gifts to each class including Miguels .

It was in his 3rd period , was when he had enough . Thats why once the teacher left he started speaking his distaste.

" Its not fair , why do people like me have to suffer while the rest live high off love . I will never find love , I'm gonna be stuck all alone and watch people live a happy life . I hate this day , i hate valentines day .

Whats wrong with me , Am i ugly ,nerdy or Am i unlikable ? "

" Demetri don't say that ! You won't end up alone . " Sam had quickly came to his defense putting a halt to her love gaze with Miguel. Robby and Miguel nodding their heads agreeing with Sam.

" Easy for you to say you have Miguel , everyone in our group has a love life . I bet right now Eli's with Moon trying to woo her so that leaves me to nothing . "

Looking at Sam, giving him a sad smile and Miguel giving him a sympathy smile as well.

He went back to sulking until a candy bar was in his eyesight .

" Here , Happy Valentine's " Robby says with a smile . Probably from the big pile of Cards and Candy that he had received .

" Great a pity gift "

" Its not a pity gift , it's mine now it's yours . Hey ! if you want I can kiss you to make you feel better . Or ...." Robby turns to Sam and Miguel with a mischievous look in his eyes . All three of them get up hug him and shouting , embarrasing him as other students start watching .

" Omg , no stop please , I take it back . I surrender !! "

" We love you Demetri ! " " Your the best ! "

" We wouldn't trade you for anything in the world ! " " We Love you !! "

Lunch was almost over and he was still ranting his hate about Valentine's and he didn't feel bad he was ruining the mood of everyone with their girlfriends and boyfriends. They had someone , and once he realised Eli was no where to be seen it only made him feel worse . It sucked having feelings for your best friend.

Vibration coming from his phone interuppted his train of thought and speech . A message from Eli ,

Meet me at the computer lab . Asap !!!!!

Arriving , Eli isn't in the room . Maybe the text wasn't for him . Right as he's about to leave he spots a teddy bear as the size of the computers . It hold a heart that said Will You Be Mine .

" So Will You Be Mine " Jumping from hearing Eli , he turns around to face him . He had a raised eyebrow with a smirk waiting for his answer .

" haha , is this for moon ? , let me just say it's cute . she'll probably be happy . "

Looking confused at Demetri, he thought his feeling was pretty clear for the latter . He took the teasing up a notch , he even told him last week , " he would hit that" when Dem was going on and on that was going to die a virgin . He loved the blush that appeared on the pale skin . Damn he was simping , If Sensei Lawrence was allowed to simp for Mr . Larusso, he can too .

" -ou , it's only fair . Guess I am the only one . And I mean who wouldn't want to date moon . She's perfect and pretty , I hope everything turns out well . You and Moon will make a great couple , I guess . I mean I wouldn't kno- "

Guess He had to Strike First, so that's what Hawk did , he pinned his friend and kissed those lips so he can shut up .

" I like you Dem, Only you and i really hope you feel the same because I have bunch of other cliche gifts for you today . So what do you say , Will You Be Mine ? "

" If I say yes , Will you manhandle me and kiss me like that again ? Cause the answer is a Yes . "

Laughing at his best frie- well now boyfriend , He kisses Demetri.

Once school finish as the group of friends wait for the two missing boys to arrive . They quickly spot Demetri and Hawk holding hands and kissing each other while holding a teddy bear that somehow had a Mohawk.

" Guess he doesn't hate Valentines Day anymore ! "

Girl Like You [Dean x reader]

warning: angst, fluff

a/n: I was listening to "Girls like you" by Maroon 5 and felt like writing a good angsty/fluffy smol oneshot. Well, it's not very good but, here I wrote it so here it is xD

“Get a hold of yourself, Dean,” you murmured, turning away from him and folding your clothes. However, you barely paid attention to what you were doing.

Dean stumbled behind you a little. He was slightly drunk. Alcohol rarely affected him and it was the same case now except a bit of his speech slurred.

“I am fine, babe,” he muttered gruffly, taking off his boots and shirt.

Your head spun. How had your life become such a mess? You turned around to look at Dean.

His bare chest was covered in scars that were barely healing. You saw him flinch every time he moved, knowing that one of his ribs was injured. He refused to seek medical attention, how much ever you begged him to.

Dean’s hunting life had never bothered you. Until now. He came back home later than ever, bloody and battered. He seeked solace in you, you knew that but it hurt watching him like this. He was in pain, you could see that very well. And it hurt even more knowing that you couldn’t help him in anyway.

“Look at yourself, Dean,” you said, shoving the clothes aside and crossing your arms.

“What? I look amazing, right?” He joked but his eyes lacked mirth.

You scoffed at him. He had the audacity to mock you? You were fuming, to put it lightly. All this time, you let it slide. You waited patiently for him to realise what he was doing. But not anymore.

“You look barely alive, Dean!” you said, gesturing at his chest. Your chest felt tighter, as the anger bubbled in you. You wanted to scream at him, heck throw something but all that came out was a gutteral whimper.

Dean’s subdued green eyes bore into your own. “What do you want me to do?” he asked, silently. You wanted him to yell too but he was being quiet- too quiet and it frustrated the hell out of you.

“WHAT DO YOU WANT ME TO DO?” You screamed, finally breaking. The bubbling anger burst out of your chest, cascading down your cheeks as furious tears. “HOW CAN YOU NOT CARE ABOUT YOURSELF, DEAN?” you yelled, pulling at hair. You were finding it difficult to speak, the words caught up in your throat. The fury you felt was suffocating you, like a hand clasping your throat.

“Jesus, Y/N. Would you calm down?” he said, his tone a little higher now. He moved closer to you and placed his hands gently on your arms.

You looked down, crying. It hurt so much to even see him like this. The man you were in love with and cared so much about, was a mere broken shell. And what was worse that he didn’t seem to care about it.

You shrugged his hands off and backed away. “If you can’t think about yourself.. Would you atleast think about me? About us?” You sobbed. You felt so small before him. He didn't scare you, no. You were only afraid of what he was becoming.

Dean looked up at you. His eyes were wide with shock. “What makes you think I don’t care Y/N?”

You brushed away a tear but another one took its place. “If you cared you wouldn’t be like this, Dean,” you whispered.

Dean looked aghast. He ran a hand over his face. “Everything that I’m doing..I’m doing it for us Y/N!” he said forcefully, like he didn’t quite understand what you were saying.

“Doing this for us? Us, Dean?! At what cost?” you yelled, turning away from him. You were trembling. How could he be so blind?

“You come home late, broken and bruised all over and act like it’s nothing! You think a bottle of whiskey can cure you. How can you care so little about yourself, Dean?” you questioned, your hands fisting on their own.

“How can you love me, when you can’t even love yourself?” you added, eyes shining with unshed tears.

Your words were bitter and accusatory. Dean physically flinched at them. “You really think so?” he whispered. You felt his hand tug at the hem of your blouse and you turned around, in spite yourself, still weeping.

“I am so sorry I hurt you, baby,” he whispered, sounding a little broken and you couldn’t hold back anymore. You flung yourself at him and like always, in spite of everything, he was there- scarred chest or not- to hold you.

“But believe me when I say this, sweetheart,” he said, pulling you flush against him and hugging you tight. His voice cracked a little, becoming a mere rasp. You buried your face into his chest and hiccuped. “I love you. Whatever I do, I do it while keeping you in mind and maybe... I stopped looking after myself in my struggle to protect you.”

You looked up at him. There it was. What you wanted to hear him say, all this while. “I need you to stop doing that. Okay?” you said, placing your hands on either side of his neck. He immediately leaned in to your touch and closed his eyes. You could see that he was trying not to cry.

“I can't lose you Y/N,” he said, avoiding the question. “I love you too much and I need you. I need a girl like you, baby.”

“I'm not going anywhere, Dean. I just need you to take care of yourself better. To give a shit. Do it for me if you won't do it for you. Do it for Sam.”

Dean opened his eyes. A tiny speck of brightness had returned in those eyes. You, on the other hand, were still snivelling. Dean brushed the silent stream of tears from your cheeks.

“Please, stop crying. Shhhh,” he pleaded, hugging you and burying his face into your shoulder.

You tried to stifle your whimpering. You felt a lot less angrier now. All your anger, frustration had spilled out in the form of your tears. The long standing wall was broken.

“Tell me you'll try, Dean,” you said, looking at him with shining eyes.

He met your gaze and thought for a moment. There were times when he was an open book and there were other times where you couldn't ever guess what went on in that mind of his. This was one of those times.

“I will,” Dean said, placing his hands of your hips.

“I'm sorry I made you so upset,” he added.

“I'm not upset, Dean. I'm angry and I'm worried. For you. I love you so much it breaks me to see you like this. To watch you throw yourself away like you mean nothing. You might not mean much to yourself but you mean the world to me,” you said, breaking down again, the emotions overwhelming you.

“I am sorry,” he repeated, brushing his lips against your forehead. “I'll try to do better. Be better.”

“And I'll always be here to help you through it, baby,” you said, rubbing the length of his arm. “I can only help if you help yourself first.”

“God, what would I do without you?” He asked, pulling you into him again.

You resisted and pulled him into bed with you instead. You curled around his frame, spooning him.

He was bigger and larger than you were but in that moment, Dean Winchester felt small and fragile as he lay in your arms.

Come what may, you were going to be there for him. Protect him and care for him and let him know he was loved.

You couldn't leave him. He needed you as much as you needed him. You were his girl.

Your caring hands would stitch his wounds and your unwavering love would eventually heal his heart- teach him to love himself.

To love him was to fix him.

13x23: Let the Good Times Roll

Then:

Team Free Will 3.0!

Now:

Sam gives the new recruits a rundown on the sorry state of our world. (Extra meta credit to the show for letting Jim Beaver talk about The Shape of Water. I’m pretty sure he was going to be in it but couldn’t due to other commitments. I can’t find that news now, but here’s his tweet about it.)

Dean calls. Apparently, Cas, Jack, and him were on a hunt for a case, and found some Kardashian loving werewolves to take out.

Jack’s still learning (and Dean’s willingly training him. Awww.) While Cas takes out a werewolf outside, Sam, Dean, and Jack take out the rest inside. I love that the lesson about silver bullets doesn’t really apply for Jack, but he still wants to learn. (And, in hindsight, it matters so much that he does learn how to fight like a human.)

Meanwhile, Bobby and Mary take a nice stroll through the countryside, summing up the new world order.

Yay for Rowena and Charlie Thelma and Louise-ing it through the Southwest. I’m a bit more concerned about Ketch “out doing Ketch things.” Uh, that man is a cold blooded killer. Is he redeemed? He. Killed. Magda. (Natasha: And Eileen. Horribly.) And then Bobby and Mary share a look. (Or, as the script says: They eyefuck.) The lovely interlude is interrupted when they see blood and find Maggie, another refugee, dead, head bashed against a rock.

Sam and Dean are back at the bunker, and that whole werewolf hunt was a lesson for Jack. Dean wants to retire -on the beach with Cas. If Jack can hone his powers, Sam and Dean are going to get their well deserved retirement. SOB.

Jack, bby, is having a nightmare though. Dean rushes to his room and they have a father-son moment.

They share a moment of mutual nightmares (and we relive au!Kevin’s death again!), and then Dean gives a wonderful, heartfelt, motivating talk to Jack. It’s such a beautiful moment to highlight that Dean will never stop being a parent, and he’ll never stop caring and fighting for his family. It’s also, I think, a moment that will sustain Jack next season. He’s family, and Dean’s his family, and as Dean says, “we look after our own.”

Sam rushes to tell Dean about Maggie, and cut to them all standing around her body.

Jack takes it personally, but Sam tries to reassure him that it’s not his fault.

Back at the bunker, they start interrogating another refugee. She is shocked to learn that Maggie is dead, and admits that there was a boy that she had a crush on. She probably went to see him the previous night. Jack flaps out before the others.

The boy is named Nate, and he works at the Gas and Go, and Jack is full on rage nephilim. He blasts him, and starts to choke him, demanding an answer to Maggie’s death. TFW bust in and Cas tries to intercede, but is tossed across the room (No Jack!), and then Dean shoots Jack (to get his attention.) Jack, realizing his error, runs out in self-loathing defeat.

Jack starts beating himself up literally and figuratively, and I was tearing up a bit during this scene. He fits so well with TFW --self-loathing and the inability to accept himself and his limitations/uniqueness.

At the Gas and Go, quick thinking Cas gives Nate the FBI cover (with aliases Rowland, Knowles, and Williams, heh. And Dean’s so proud of his quick-thinking husband, he flashes the peace sign. Goober.)

The place starts to shake and lights begin to flicker --and it’s clear an angel is forthcoming. AGH.

Jack is still hurting himself in the forest when Lucifer pops in. BLARG.

Sam, Dean, and Cas make a run for it, but before they can escape in Baby, Michael appears. BLARG.

Dean lights and throws their entire container of holy oil at Michael (aw, I remember when Cas originally obtained it to keep Rafael in a ring of fire) and they hightail it out of there.

Meanwhile, Lucifer lets Jack know that it was Sam that trapped him in the AU world. He tries giving Jack the “we’re not human” speech and tries to convince Jack to leave with him. And then Jack, who couldn’t possibly get ANY CUTER, starts talking about Star Wars and light sabers, and OMG. Season 14: Supernatural in Space!

He also worries about Sam, Dean, and Cas, but Lucifer tells him that this is their opportunity to escape their past, their sins, and start over. Hmmm, I mean, Jack’s made mistakes, but dude, he doesn’t really have a past, or sins. Don’t drag him into your pity party. However, Lucifer sells his plan well enough that Jack agrees.

At the bunker, Bobby and Mary discuss Maggie’s death. Jack and Lucifer come strolling in like it’s nbd. Mary springs into action, telling Bobby to call Sam. Lucifer is here to bring Maggie back to life, per Jack’s wishes. I’m getting a Pet Semetary vibe with this, but it’s all good in the end. (Sidenote: Bobby called Sam - and presumably Dean and Cas - “boys”. Gah.) And before TFW can make it back to the bunker, Jack and Lucifer are gone.

*Mid Episode Aesthetic Break*

TFW slightly panics when they get back to find that Lucifer’s come and gone with Jack. (Like, that old problem again, amirite?) They split up to investigate leads. Sam gets to gently interrogate Maggie and ask who killed her. Eek. She didn't catch an ID on his face...but she saw his eyes.

Cue Jack and Lucifer… They stargaze together in familial bliss out in the woods while Michael starts his assault on the bunker.

Lights begin to flicker and the front door rattles. Sam orders Mary and Bobby to take Maggie out through the garage. Sam, Dean, and Cas await Michael. He busts in, they all pull out their weapons and proceed to...fire fruitlessly at Michael while he floats down from the upper balcony like he’s Peter Pan.

Michael tells them all that they can fly if they’ll only believe quickly gets the upper hand on all three of our heroes. He reveals that he made a deal with Lucifer to get to their world. Luci helped him open a rift. (See? I told you not to let Lucifer stay, Sam.) In return, Lucifer gets Jack and Michael gets everything else. (Lucifer. Dude. I love Jack and hate you... but that's a hell of a lopsided deal.)

Michael gives Dean a little preview of his idea of “saving the world” promising Dean that he will be the first to die – the first person he “saves.” Um. Thanks but no thanks, dickhole. Dean slowly suffocates in Michael's grip and Sam prays to Jack for help.

Jack, that sweet little cupcake, hears Sam's prayer. He realizes that Sam's begging for help and flaps away to the bunker to join the fight.

Dean continues to choke when...WAPOW WAPOW! Jack uses his super nephilim force to knock Michael down. Jack goes full glowy eyes on Michael, twisting his hand into a fist until Michael writhes in agony. “Lucifer, we had a deal,” Michael gasps and Jack turns to Lucifer and asks what that means. (Aw, Jack.) Welp. Lucifer was gonna get the fuck off the planet with Jack while Michael laid waste to Earth. Thus, all the stargazing and romanticizing Star Wars.

Cas is pissed that Lucifer would just abandon ship (why are you surprised, Castiel?) and Sam ratchets Jack’s shock up another level. Sam reveals that Lucifer killed Maggie. Though Lucifer initially denies it, Jack's eyes glow and he compels Lucifer to tell the truth. (Me: Stop thinking about Tom Riddle in Harry Potter compelling people to “tell the truth.” Jack’s a precious smol nougat. He’s no Voldemort! Also me…)

“She saw me and she screamed so I crushed her skull with my bare hands and it was warm and wet and I liked it.” It's somewhat refreshing to hear Lucifer say this because he’s the ultimate spin machine, constantly covering up his misdeeds. However, it’s also so disturbing to hear Lucifer's true thoughts that hide under his smirking exterior.

Jack's face falls. “You're not my father,” he says. “You're a monster.” Lucifer screams in rage. He tells Jack that humans are worthless, and that he doesn't need Jack. In a flash, he slits Jack's throat and sucks out a big wallop of grace. NOOOOOOOO!

Lucifer grabs a weakened Jack and Sam lunges for Jack...and then Lucifer flaps out of there with both of them. Dean and Cas are left alone in the bunker with Michael.

Cut to Sam getting tossed across a church floor. Lucifer kicks Sam, his very favorite punching bag. And he's got Jack just where he wants him. Mustache twirl, mustache twirl.

Back with Michael, Cas demands to know a way to stop Lucifer. Michael tells them that Lucifer is supercharged with Jack's grace...and now he can destroy the universe. Um. Oops. (Does stolen grace slowly kill archangels too?) Michael protests that he can't do anything to stop Lucifer in his “banged up meatsuit.” He coughs pathetically. “This is the end of everything,” Michael says. And damn it all, if Dean doesn't get a really dumb idea lodged in his head.

“What if you had your sword?” Dean asks.

DAMN IT, DEAN

How did we not see Lucifer stealing Jack’s grace? Extracting Jack’s grace to depower him was a plot point last year, and Lucifer using other angels’ grace to power up was used all this season. I think (like always) maybe the pacing could have been better to make it more weighty at the end? Had Lucifer met Jack sooner, and felt betrayed by Jack, and stole his grace sooner so we could feel that power, maybe that would make Dean’s decision more necessary? We know where Dean was coming from with his absolute need to protect his family --at the cost of his own life. They were in a bad spot, but I’m not sure the show made the stakes feel as high as they really were.

Meanwhile Lucifer is playing with his food (aka Sam) when Jack demands that he leave Sam alone. Lucifer's unimpressed and switches his attention to nougat. He punches Jack repeatedly. Father of the year award, here. :(

Lucifer tells Sam that family sucks and Jack being “family” is meaningless. To prove his point, he tells Jack to kill Sam. Lucifer drops his archangel blade at their feet and settles back to wait for the show.

Dean continues breaking our hearts at the bunker. While Cas asks Dean to back down, Dean sells himself as Michael's “sword.” UGH. Michael tells Dean that, were Dean possessed by him they MIGHT have a chance to defeat Lucifer. (Holy shades of Lucifer-possessing-Cas, Batman!) That's all Dean needs to hear. “Lucifer has Sam. He has Jack. Cas, I don't have a choice!” Dean brokers a deal with Michael: Michael can possess him, but he's in charge. Michael looks...very pleased.

Sam and Jack face each other down while Lucifer natters at them. Sam bends down and picks up the blade. Jack looks hurt. Confused. And then Sam tries to hand him the blade so Jack can kill him instead. NOOOOOOO! (Please imagine this in Luke Skywalker’s voice.) Sam’s willingness to sacrifice himself for his adopted son inspires Jack to...sacrifice himself. Jack knows how to end Lucifer’s game. He’ll kill himself! Jack starts driving the blade into his skin when light streams from behind him. It's Dean! Er, Michael! Er, Michael!Dean!

“Heya, Sammy,” Dean’s familiar greeting is assurance that he’s still behind the wheel. He looks to Lucifer. It's time to rumble. Lucifer and Michael!Dean start to fight. Um...in the air? (This is no Crouching Tiger.) Supernatural could have at least given them both swirling capes.

Lucifer begins to get the upper hand and it’s looking bad for our team. Sam runs forward and picks up the forgotten archangel blade from the floor, tossing it up into Dean’s hand. Dean stabs Lucifer with it and Lucifer glows with red fire (still floating) before he finally poofs out. DING DONG THE WITCH IS DEAD!

(Boris: I was really shocked about Lucifer’s death at first (I’ve also held that Lucifer would be the ultimate Big Bad in the end), but they’ve been reversing The End this season and that’s exactly how they ended it.)

Sam experiences intense relief. Lucifer, his torturer, is dead! They're happy...they're celebrating… This is Return of the Jedi and they’re all about to eat a little storm trooper with some fuzzy Ewoks when--

Dean buckles over, gasping. Oh no, we know the signs of an angel/human internal battle. “We had a deal!” Dean shouts and when he lifts his head, Michael's behind the wheel. He looks around casually and then flaps out, leaving Sam and Jack in shock behind him.

Back at the bunker, Mary and Bobby rush back into the library only to find Cas sitting alone on the step. He says nothing. Just shakes his head...

On a quiet street, Michael goes for a stroll. He's purloined some classy new duds so he can walk the world. His eyes glow…

what’s that ?? elle has a new character ?? yes yes i know. i have issues. but lets ignore those and focus on my new smol son instead

jasper sawyer, twin brother to jj. his dad was a good guy but had a drink problem. when they were just 8, they were all in a car accident bc his dad was drink driving. their dad managed to get him and jj out of the car but when he went back for their mom it exploded and they were both killed. he still has nightmares about that day.

as a child jas had been outgoing, enthusiastic, willing to engage with just about anyone. but after his parents death he drew inside himself. after finding that no one would take the twins in, an 18 y/o ben calanoc adopted the two wolf pups. he has been their dad ever since, anna their older sister and raven their aunt.

18 y/o wolf boy, kinda wishes he was mundane but not enough to really hate what he is. he just thinks it would be simpler.

smart but doesn’t particularly apply himself. jj is the smart one, the overachiever. jas has always had the potential to be this but has found his mind wandering. he’s never disruptive, rebellious, he’s just a dreamer. he can’t focus on trigonometry when his brain has taken him thousands of miles away. he loves to read which is why he's become good friends with Auden.

he is endlessly introverted, much preferring to listen to someone than speak himself. often he says very little at all unless he knows you well. only those that have been his friends for years really see the whole picture, the funny, inquisitive, intelligent boy underneath. to everyone else he remains a quiet mystery.

he is so damn kind. seriously, he’ll help anyone that needs it and never expects a thank you.

jasper is pansexual but leans generally more towards women. though his history of relationships are few and far between. girls at school have tried to use him to get closer to jj for their popularity. but jasper was never popular or particularly unpopular at school. he was just forgettable.

he was in a relationship with ofelia and cared very deeply about her. when she was turned into a wolf, she pushed him away. he feels endlessly guilty that he didn't tell her about the downworld, that if he had she might have been able to protect herself. now, even though she mostly wants nothing to do with him, he still tries to watch out for her.

his and jj's best friend growing up was Alison. they were inseparable and over recent years, jas had come to realise that his feelings for her were more than friendship. however he never acted on them in fear of ruining what they already had and didn't want to make her uncomfortable. he has been heartbroken ever since 'alison' left to be married. he has never been close to her twin sister, Ada, but they have been developing a friendship since Alison left. he doesn't know that ada and Alison switched places and his best friend is still here with him.

adoptive siblings - sam rosewain is like a big sister to him, she has always protected him and he trusts her more than most people. atlas 'pup' is his close companion, he is one of the few people that just gets atlas. he translates when pup is unable to speak for himself and has almost a big brother dynamic, the smols protect each other.

he rarely fights, he is very level headed. in fact, he’ll avoid conflict at all costs if he can. the only time he’s really inspired to fight is if he feels someone he loves is in danger and even then he’ll probably hate himself for any blood on his hands.

Summary: During the airport scene in Captain America Civil War, Bucky Barnes is shocked to learn that someone has invited a child to the fight. Determined to protect this smol bean, he marches in the middle of the battle to give Tony Stark a piece of his mind.

A/N: This story is based off this post I found from @magellan-88 . I know there’s a bunch more characters in the movie, but I am not the Russo brothers, so you get the main ones. As always, thanks for reading!

One Shot Masterlist

Bucky Barnes was convinced he had the worst luck of anyone on the planet. First, there was the whole train/HYDRA thing. Then, just as he’s getting his life together, some asshole accuses him of killing a bunch of people in a bombing at the United Nations. He was all the way in Romania buying plums for Pete’s sake! Romania is nowhere near the UN in case anyone forgot their geography lesson (which apparently, half the world did). It was bad enough that the entire world had it out for him, but he also had to drive around in a car the size of a matchbox with some idiot who wouldn’t even move his seat up. Now Bucky’s only hope of escaping was through an airport overrun with people who liked to hit each other and blow things up.

Oh yeah, Bucky Barnes was definitely the unluckiest guy ever.

Currently, he was running away from some red flash swinging across the building from what appeared to be string. The thing moved quickly as it flung itself on top of the glass roof and ran overtop of Bucky and Sam Wilson.

“What the hell is that?” Bucky yelled.

Sam shook his head as he continued to make his way down the hall. “Everyone’s got a gimmick now,” he panted.

The red thing suddenly swung away from the building and came crashing through the glass, slamming Sam into a nearby railing. Bucky secretly grinned as he got ready to take this thing out. Sam deserved to get knocked down a peg after the car incident.

Bucky pulled back his left arm and swung it full-force at the costumed superhero, but was shocked when his attack was stopped. The thing’s masked eyes widened as it held Bucky’s fist in its hand.

“You have a metal arm?” the voice gasped. “That is awesome dude!”

Bucky gaped at what he realized the outfit contained a teenage boy. His voice sounded like it had barely exited puberty, and now that Bucky got a better look, he realized the kid was a bit…underdeveloped compared to the others in the fight.

This was no place for a kid to be! What kind of moron would let a teenager come and fight someone else’s battle? Shouldn’t he be in school or something?

In his peripheral, Bucky could see Sam flying towards them ready to attack. He couldn’t stand to let the kid get hurt, so he yanked him just out of Sam’s reach.

“Ahh!” he yelped as Bucky lifted him over his left shoulder in a vice-like grip. “Let me go!” He struggled and kicked, but Bucky was stronger.

It was clear this kid had gumption. A wry grin took over Bucky’s face as his mind flashed back to all the times he had to help small Stevie out of sticky situations. Stevie could never back down from a fight, no matter how outmatched he was. And this kid was definitely out of his league.

“Barnes, what the hell are you doing?” Sam yelled as he pushed himself up. Bucky ignored him as he walked outside.

“What’s your name?” Bucky asked the kid.

“Peter,” he replied. “Now let me go!

“Not a chance.” Bucky passed a whole group of suitcases that had been thrown out of one of the planes. He reached down into a broken one to pull out a blanket.

“Put me down!” the kid continued to whine. “I’ve gotta impress Mr. Stark, and I can’t do it from here!” He punched Bucky’s back causing him to grunt. That was one difference between this kid and Stevie…Stevie’s punches never made anyone wince.

“Stark, huh?” Bucky mumbled. He dodged one of Wanda’s incoming cars and stood in the middle of the tarmac. “HEY STARK!” he yelled over the explosions.

Suddenly, all movement ceased. Once the rest of Wanda’s cars came crashing down, all anyone could hear was the roar of the flames from an earlier tanker explosion. Steve looked over his shield and began rushing towards Bucky once he realized who his best friend was about to take on.

Bucky saw Tony hover in the air a few yards ahead. The faceplate of his mask came off, and his eyes widened in fear as he saw who Bucky was holding.

“Hey!” Tony exclaimed, lowering his suit to the ground. “He’s mine!”

“Buck,” Steve said, “what are you-”

Bucky glared at both Tony and Steve since they were the leaders of this little assembly of heros. “Who the hell,” he growled, “brings a kid to a full-on battle?”

Tony held up a finger as his the bottom of his suit reached the ground. “First of all, he’s not…exactly a kid,” Tony reasoned.

Peter struggled as Bucky put him on the ground and wrapped him tightly in the blanket. The poor kid had to be in shock, he reasoned with himself. Peter let out a surprised yelp as Bucky tugged his blanketed form against his broad chest.

“You are significantly older,” Bucky growled. “You should know better than to bring a kid with something to prove to a fight like this!”

Peter huffed underneath his mask. “I’m not a kid,” he muttered. He tried again to wriggle out of Bucky’s grasp, but he had no luck.

“He can handle himself!” Tony shot back. “I told him to stay out of serious danger, and I’ve got his back!”

Bucky scoffed. “Serious danger? Trust me, I spent my entire teenage years keeping Stevie over there out of “serious danger”. When they’ve got fight in ‘em, there’s no holding them back.”

Steve couldn’t believe his best friend. “Now hang on,” he argued. “I handled myself just fine when we were kids. And this kid isn’t helpless, you know.”

“Like hell you did!” Bucky exclaimed. “You got in tons of fights, and each time, I had to pick your sorry ass off the ground!”

Peter looked between Steve and Bucky as they continued to bicker and argue. He had no desire to make the strong, metal armed guy any angrier than he already was. Plus, the blanket did feel kind of nice against his sore muscles.

Tony tried to interject, but the super soldiers left no room for interruption. “When did this become a damn parent-teacher conference?” he groaned to himself. Before he could try once again to stop the fighting, another voice spoke up.

“That is ENOUGH!” Everyone’s heads turned to face T’Challa. His Black Panther suit glistened under the intense gaze of the sun. Even though no one could see his actual face, they could feel the anger seething off of him.

Bucky sighed and stared at T’Challa. “I didn’t kill your father,” he declared.

T’Chall turned his head slightly, clearly not believing him. “Then why did you run?” he asked, his thick accent muffled by his mask.

Bucky blinked once, then twice, then three times. “Why did I…why did I run?” he asked, a sharp laugh escaping his throat. “Why did I run?” he repeated, his volume increasing almost to the point of hysterics. “Hmm, let’s see…”

Bucky pushed Peter down so he was sitting on the tarmac. The young Spiderman’s eyes drooped as exhaustion finally overtook his body. Bucky stalked over to T’Challa, officially done with everyone’s nonsense.

“I ran because a bunch of SWAT people tried to kill me in my own pathetic apartment! I ran because a guy in a glorified cat suit chased me off a damn roof and cost me my backpack! No normal person sticks around waiting to get attacked!” He chuckled again as he looked towards the sky. “And they want to know why I ran.”

Tony pinched his nose and stepped towards Bucky. “You have no proof, and we have footage of you at the United Nations.”

“Zemo was proof,” Steve interjected. “And he’s getting away to Siberia to wake up more super soldiers.” He pointed towards the quinjet in the hanger across the airport. “We need to go stop him.”

“And why should we believe you?” T’Challa asked.

“Do you really have anything to lose?” Steve countered.

T’Challa considered Steve’s words and nodded. “Let us go track down this Zemo character. But if you are lying,” he said, staring directly at Bucky, “I will kill you.”

“Fine!” Bucky exclaimed. “But I’m not lying.”

A decision made, everyone clambered over to the quinjet to head for Siberia. Steve guided it out of the airport, and it soon disappeared in the sky.

Peter, meanwhile, jolted awake at the sound of the roaring aircraft. He shrugged the blanket off his shoulders as he stood up. A completely deserted airport greeted him from him slumber.

“Um, guys? Where’d you go?”

Death(s) in Infinity War??!!

My purely speculative ideas on what might happen to our heroes.. I hope none of it happens but in my mind, it’s possible.. Lets hope no one actually meets these fates..

I don’t hate any of these characters, unless I state so, I don’t mean any beef with anyone because again, these are just ideas that have been bouncing around my head since the trailer was leaked.. I thought I might as well let my thoughts out instead of letting them consume me at 5am or while I'm trying to take a relaxing shower.

They aren’t in like a countdown order either, I just need to number them because you know... OCD. I DO SWEAR SO BEWARE IF YOU DONT LIKE THAT. Now, without further stalling. Lets get to it.

1. Vision

Vision is probably on everyone’s lists because of the same reason which is an Infinity Stone literally being in his face. Thanos needs the Infinity Stones to complete his gauntlet. Considering the Mind Stone has the biggest spot on the gauntlet, perhaps it gives him the most power? Anyways, I think Thanos will want to take the stone from Vision and I’m willing to bet like my left big toe that he wouldn't be gentle about it and Vision wouldn't be able to survive the process. That’s why he’s on my list.

2. Wanda Maximoff / Scarlet Witch

As much as I hate to put Wanda on my list, it seems likely and makes sense that she could die or get seriously injured during Infinity War. Why? Because she may still be harbouring guilt over what happened in Lagos in Civil War. Yeah she did say to Vision that she couldn't control everyones fear and seemed to have accepted that she had made a mistake but I can’t help feel like because this is Wanda, one of the sweetest little smol beans in the MCU, she still feels bad about it and would die trying to prove to people that she is one of the good guys. That or her other most likely cause of death is trying to protect Vision from Thanos and dying in the process. I would honestly hate to see Wanda get hurt let alone die.

3. Drax The Destroyer

Everyone loves Drax and if you say you don’t you’re lying. But if you genuinely mean it... We can’t be friends. Perhaps everyone thinks Drax is going to die in Infinity war. Due to the fact that since the first Guardians movie he has been out for revenge for the death/killing of his family. That has been majority of his story arc. At first, he thought the killer and target was Ronan, the Accuser but in the first Guardians he declares Thanos the “real mission” after finding out Ronan was acting under his orders. Although Drax did literally punch Thanos’ heart out in one storyline, I feel like Marvel/the MCU won't let him get away with it and survive. I have a feeling they might kill one Avenger and one Guardian so each team has a reason to fight for one another or remain allies after the war. Drax will probably be the one to kill Thanos. That’s very likely. (But between you and I, I kind of hope it’s Nebula. After years of him shitting on her, I hope she seriously gets a few licks in or honestly fucks him up). Though he’ll probably be the one to do the deed, Drax will probably die doing it. This way, Marvel gets their victory and Drax gets his vengeance and doing so, is reunited with his family. But also saving his friends doing so. Making him not just Drax the Destroyer, but Drax the Hero.

4. Nick Fury

I know this one seems kind of far fetched, I mean I pitched it to one of my friends and she looked at me like I had sprouted a second head. Just hear me out though... So, basically The Avengers have broken up that’s obvious.

Side note: (For Friends fans...) It would be funny if like Cap or someone that got arrested because of Tony and his team brought it up and Tony just goes “We were on a break!” I would literally cackle myself into an early grave..

With the Avengers at odds, what could possibly bring them all together again emotionally more than physically? The death of Director Fury. I mean it worked for the first Avengers movie when Agent Coulson “died”. Since Fury has roots with pretty much all the Avengers, they may feel a need to unite to avenge Fury as well as protect the Earth but as a team. Marvel sometimes reuses plot ideas, perhaps they would do it for this one? Plus, Nick Fury is a fan favourite and it would no doubt have a very big emotional impact not only in the MCU but with the fans as well.

5. Thor

Now I would honestly rather rip my own intestines out of my ass than see Thor die. He’s one of my favourite characters from the MCU. He had the potential to be such a bruiting, tough guy character but instead we get our version and I couldn't be more in love with him. I mean this guy is literally a Norse God and he’s sitting there in his trailer telling Hulk/Bruce about how he “So much has happened since I last saw you! I lost my hammer like, yesterday so that’s still pretty fresh.” Like this guy is literally huge and I love that he’s not serious. “Did I win?” “No. I won. Easily.” I was laughing the whole trailer. Just fyi. Anyways, enough about my crush on Thor...

I hate to think that we could lose Thor. But, his death makes too much sense. The Thor movies don't make as much as the others (Cap, Iron Man). After Ragnarok, The Thor movies are done. Ragnarok ends his individual storyline. The movie also brings Asgard into the war. It’s likely Marvel will kill off Thor because they had even said they wanted to switch up the Avengers team line up, and getting rid of Thor who is one of the strongest could prompt the Avengers to recruit not one but multiple heroes to fill his place. My theory us sadly also backed up by the fact that Thor/Chris Hemsworth is not yet confirmed for the following Avengers or Marvel movies. Perhaps he has signed a contract and they’re keeping it under raps because they know we look into that shit but that could also be my wishful thinking...

6. Tony Stark / Iron Man

*Collective gasps from the crowd*

No, but seriously Marvel loves to build us up but then (hulk)smash us down. Think about how involved and intertwined Tony is with the whole MCU. He’s such a big character and he does a lot for the heroes. Plus, Marvel has launched a comic reboot storyline where Iron Man is now an Iron WOman. And let’s be honest, everyone is crawling over each other to get media attention over being supportive of women/races/LGBTQ... So, they would most likely kill Tony to bring in Riri Williams. Not only will this get them even more media coverage BUT it also allows them to send a huge shockwave throughout the MCU. With Tony being at odds with Cap and most of the Avengers, and him having a son-like figure in his protege, Peter Parker... He has people to leave behind and mourn in other movies. Tony Stark’s death would change the MCU a lot. But maybe too much? I’m still iffy on this one.

7. Natasha Romanoff / Black Widow

There’s no denying that Nat is a fan favourite. She’s also just about as much interweaved with the MCU as Tony. Appearing in several films, she is a huge supporting character but as much as we try, she's a supporting character and is in a group with heroes like Vision and Hawkeye where they are the most likely not to get stand alone films. She seems to always play a big role in the victory of the team we’re supposed to root for, An example would be when she helps Steve and Bucky get passed T’Challa in Civil War.

Side note: I would love to link this to the fact that Bucky and Natasha have a history. In the Comics that is, it isn't canon in the movies but I would also like to link Nat saying “You could at least recognize me” to Bucky in Civil War to that as well. Considering Nat and Bucky were romantically involved briefly, that could be an interesting arc considering whatever she has/had with Bruce. Either way, I would love Red Room flashbacks or even a movie...

It seems likely that Nat could get killed trying to help everyone with the war. Considering she is one of the team members who doesn't have powers... Thanos could easily, and regrettably rag doll the shit out of everyones favourite red head.

8. Bruce Banner / The Hulk

MARVEL. FUCKING. WOULD.

They would take Bruce “I know, I tried” away from us. One of Marvel’s biggest hard-hitters who also needs to be protected at all costs. For as long as he’s been in the MCU, Hulk has been seen as the tank. “We have a Hulk”. Perhaps during the Infinity War, our heroes over estimate Bruce and he goes up against Thanos and ends up dead because of it.

9. Thanos

Marvel has a tendency to kill off their villains before they necessarily should. I admit, I haven't even met MCU’s Thanos and I already want this mother fucker to get dropped but I would also love to see Marvel develop a villain. The only villain(s) they’ve really developed are Loki and The Winter Soldier and majority of us would argue that these two are not villains. They are pretty much the only two however who have been on the opposing side of our heroes and survived to come back and/or develop. Loki jumps back and forth between good and evil and Bucky was never truly evil, he was brainwashed. The other ones like The Red Skull and Obadiah Stane/War Monger die in fiery explosions before we even get to experience their full story. Although we spend most of their movies hoping and wishing for it. I just hope Marvel gives Thanos enough time to develop outside of the post-credit scenes before the Avengers and Guardians eventually bring him down, if they even do that in Infinity War.

10. Steve Rogers / Captain America

The thought of losing Cap really hurts, especially since he just got his bestie Bucky back. Although we all know this is going to happen. Chris Evans has been reported saying that he has indeed signed one more contract with Marvel after reading it over and feeling that one more movie was needed to wrap up Cap/Steve’s story. My thoughts are, what exactly is stopping Marvel from offing him in Infinity War and just making him majorly flashback-type scenes in the next one. We all know both Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes have dawned the Cap suit and Shield but he true question would be exactly who is Marvel’s choice? Perhaps Cap will in fact die in Infinity War and it will be Bucky who takes up the mantle and the only reason we see Steve is through Bucky’s returning memories as he tries to handle being Cap?

11. Loki

Loki is another one of my favourites, only due to the fact that I’m weak when it comes to misunderstood villainy... *cough* Jason Todd *cough* It’s not just me who has succumbed to the seduction of the God of Mischief and his constant knack for well... Mischief. Loki has died in the MCU but he always seems to come back. If Marvel is planning on keeping Thor around, having Loki actually die just might break him if they want to pro sue a more serious angle, we’ve seen what Loki’s death does to Thor. Perhaps having Loki die after he presumably gives over the Tesseract may fuel Thor with enough rage to be one of the potential people to take Thanos out..

12. Nebula

Nebula is a likely casualty of the Infinity War. Simply because of her role in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.

Or, perhaps she plays a much larger role in Infinity War. In one storyline Nebula steals the Infinity Gauntlet and sabotages Thanos betraying him. If Nebula does this, Thanos could easily kill her. After she was humanized in GOTG Vol. 2, this might be an emotional trauma Marvel could want to inflict on Gamora. Gamora has a possibilty of playing a big role in the destruction of Thanos but having her lose her sister who she kinda patched things up with... That could give her the edge she needs. Despite how much I want to see more of Nebula and have more development for her, this seems possible.

13. Sam Wilson / Falcon

Sam Wilson would honestly in my opinion, be a tragic loss. His character was amazing from his first 30 seconds on screen. He has heart and humour and it’s hard not to love his character but that’s also a moth to flame with Marvel. They might kill off Sam to not only hurt Steve but also promote Bucky to have something to avenge after Steve dies and he has to become Captain America. We’ve already seen Bucky throw himself in front of Sam to take the brunt of a hit from Spidey so maybe, just maybe there’s some sort of friendship there and killing one of them might trigger Bucky’s need to become an Avenger kicking off a storyline that could support Marvel’s 9 contract deal with Sebastian.

14. King T’Challa / Black Panther

Why T’Challa? You ask... Well, as much as I would like to say it’s because Chadwick is just too precious for this world and be done with it, I must make a point.. Marvel probably won’t want to have two multi-billionaire badasses with equally badass suits in play. This is assuming they don't kill Tony, perhaps they will kill T’Challa? Again, this goes back to my theories surrounding Sebby Stan’s 9 contract deal. I think it’s very likely they have chosen to follow the storyline of Bucky becoming Cap after Steve is gone. From the Infinity War trailer, it looks like Bucky is settled in with T’Challa and the Wakandans. Or is that just me? Perhaps Bucky decides to stay in Wakanda. After all, the world isn't exactly welcoming him with open arms at the moment.. How do they get Bucky out of Africa so he can become Captain America? They kill off T’Challa. His only tie to Wakanda.

I don’t know a lot about Chadwick Boseman’s contracts and I can’t seem to find anything but this again is one of my more iffy theories. I hope it doesn't come true, I love T’Challa, or what we’ve gotten so far, I hope we get a lot more.

15. Peter Parker / Spider-Man = Tony Stark Version 2?

I know, I know.. The thought kills me too. We just got our MCU Peter Parker and I think it’s safe to say, everyone loves having him.

I have Peter on my list not as a death though. I just think he’s going to get seriously injured. Marvel might just be baiting us with that whole trailer “Tony, I’m sorry.” snippet but at the same time, Peter getting injured makes sense to carry a certain plot line. *cough* Tony’s death *cough*. Tony stated in Spider-Man: Homecoming “And if you die, I feel like that’s on me. I don’t need that on my conscience.” Tony’s compassion and love for the people in his life is a special thing. Something I honestly love about Tony. But, it could be his downfall. In Ultron, we saw that Tony’s worst fear is the Avengers dying and the fact that he “Could have saved us. Why didn’t you do more?”. Tony is a protector. So, having Peter around during the battle could be dangerous and potentially fatal for Tony. Peter has sort of become Tony’s surrogate son/protege and I don’t think he would let anything happen to him. If/when Peter gets injured in Infinity War, I think it will throw Tony off his game. He may feel guilty or worried about Peter and being distracted like that while facing someone like Thanos? Let’s just say if anything happens to Peter, we shouldn't just be worried about him, we should also be worried about Tony.

16. The Stark Era/Legacy

I swear to you, I don't hate Tony or RDJ. I just can't shake the thought that we’re going to have to say goodbye to him.

The MCU started with Tony, even if the earliest events take place in the 1940′s with Cap. It was a Stark that made Steve Cap. The Starks are rooted in the MCU and are the basic foundation of it. They’re heavily involved with all of the events of the MCU. This theory isn't entirely the death of Tony Stark but the death of Stark involvement.

Let me explain/paint a picture...

Captain America: The First Avenger: Howard Stark develops a serum that can turn an ordinary man into the ultimate soldier. Thus, creating Captain America which in turn saved America from destruction. And well, German rule. Howard’s super soldier was the one that took down The Red Skull before he could develop and distribute deadly weapons to Hitler and his Nazis. In doing so, the Americans and their allies were able to stop Hitler. Also, it was Howard who built that iconic shield and thought to build it from Wakandan vibranium.

Iron Man: Tony is running his father’s business seemingly where he left it. Using intellect no doubt inherited from his father, he develops weapons and other tech to continue to protect the world that Howard had helped protect in the 1940′s. The plot of Iron Man is showing Tony not only becoming Iron Man but Obadiah, becoming greedy with power and wanting to overthrow Tony. It was Stark tech that ended up saving Tony and America from terrorists and Obadiah.

Skipping forward to the Avengers...

The Avengers: It’s obvious that Tony had been playing with the idea of the Avengers with S.H.I.E.L.D. He doesn't say something like: “What the hell is that?” When Pepper mentions it. It also seems like it was Tony who had been talking to Pepper about it in the first place when she says “Which I know nothing about...” So obviously Tony had been part of coming up with the idea. So, we can thank a Stark brain for the Avengers too???

Avengers: Age of Ultron: No one lets us forget that Ultron was Tony’s fault. Especially Tony. “And then Ultron.. My fault.” (Civil War). Tony was scared for the safety of Earth and more importantly it seems, his team mates. After his vision of the Avengers laying dead and Cap accusing him of not doing enough Tony gets the idea to create the synthetic being that is, Ultron. His intentions were good but his execution faltered.

Captain America: Civil War: I won’t say that Civil War was Tony’s fault because it wasn't, it was equally Cap’s too for not wanting to sign the contract just as Tony did want to. It was a Stark who opposed the title character which carried the plot. And when all of the basic plot lines were complete, the big finale drawing the movie to a close for the final climax battle was because Tony found out Bucky had killed guess who under HYDRA’s control??

At the end of that fight, we see Cap give up his mantle to continue protecting Bucky. What was the reason to give up his mantle?

“That shield doesn't belong to you.You don’t deserve it. My father made that shield!”

(Oh, yeah.. a little side note.. Go back to watch that fight scene and at the end when Steve helps Bucky up, Sebastian’s groan in that scene holy fuck, jesus on a tricycle it’s HOT.)

Spider-Man: Homecoming: Tony was the one who built Spidey’s new suit. He was also the one that gave Peter the idea that he was capable of a lot more than stopping “grand theft bicycles”. I mean he held his own against THE Captain America. In one scene Peter and Tony start to argue and Peter’s reasoning for all of his behaviour throughout the movie was because: “I just wanted to be like you.” So, Peter’s mistakes and actions throughout his movie were rooted from the fact that he just wanted to be like Tony.

Avengers: Infinity War: This movie hasn't even come out yet so I’m not going to act like I know Tony’s full involvement or whatever, but we do know that Peter is prepared for the war because of his brand new Iron Spider suit curtesy of you guessed it, Mr. Anthony Stark.

Also, Marvel might lean more towards this option because keep in mind, RDJ is getting hella expensive because even he knows how important he is to Marvel’s cinematic universe. They might lean more towards offing Tony to save themselves some cash..

Therefore, if Marvel really decided to kill off Tony, that would be the end of heavy Stark influence. Of course, the Starks would still be present but only as a memory and a company. There wouldn't be an actual Stark to back everything up or come up with new ideas. Unless Pepper is cooking up a little Stark bun in the oven, Tony’s death would mark the end of the Stark line, thus, lessening his influence in the MCU.
