Spider-Man: Across the Spiderverse comes out later today so I wanted to write a post reflecting on my journey and experience working on this movie. So many people have supported me through this and I am so thankful to each and every one of you!
Text version of this post under the cut:
Spiderman: Across the Spiderverse comes out tonight. It feels really weird to be typing that out right now. I worked on the movie as a visdev artist for the last 2.5 years, from 2020 to 2023. Long post incoming.
There are a lot of reasons why I'd consider this film to be one of the most ambitious animated films to ever be made. As artists, we were asked to push ourselves far beyond our comfort zones and do things that had never been done before in animation.
Every time we reached a point where most people would say "this must possibly be as creative and weird as it gets," our entire team of artists and animators would smash right through the ceiling. The driving direction for the visuals of the film was to push the limits of every single frame; to challenge audience expectations and make something truly original.
The best thing about this film was that there wasn't a single boring day working on this movie. The hardest thing about this film was also that there wasn't a single boring day working on this movie.
There were times while working on this where the imposter syndrome hit me hard. This was my first big movie, and what a hell of a first movie to get thrust into.
I came in only a few years out of school with absolutely no idea what the hell I was doing. I constantly feared that someone had made a mistake in bringing me onto this film, and I was going to let everyone down. There was a solid chunk of those 2.5 years where I wasn't sure if animation was the right path for me.
If there's anything I could tell my past self it would be this: there are so many people who love you and believe in you. There will be a time when you get to stand on the other side of it, look back on everything and see how far you came.
I'm still working on self-acceptance every day (it will be a lifelong struggle, I'm sure), but I'm glad I didn't give up on myself. I'm proud of myself and my contributions to this film, and I'm certain that this movie will continue to change and shape the animation landscape just as the first one did. That's truly a special feeling to have been a part of. I am so incredibly grateful to every single person who helped me along this journey.
Here come the thanks:
To the ENTIRE visdev & art crew- it's been an honor getting to work alongside each and every one of you. My jaw is literally still on the floor from seeing your incredible talent day after day.
I want to thank Tiffany and Felicia especially for being there for me through tough times- I admire and respect you both so much as artists, and even better than that, my life is greatly enriched for being able to call you my friends.
Thank you Patrick and Dean for taking chances on me, teaching me so much about art and what I'm capable of, and encouraging me along the way. To Aymeric, your art is one of the reasons I initially became interested in animation and you have been one of the kindest & most empathetic mentors I could ever have asked for.
I want to thank my wonderful parents for believing in me always and raising me into the person I am today: everything I do in life is to make you proud. To my brother Andrew who is perpetually awake at 3 AM when I need someone to talk to- thank you for always picking up the phone and making me laugh.
And finally to my partner Luke for making me grilled cheeses on all of the difficult days, for never getting sick of me even when all I would ever talk about was work, and for patiently and steadfastly loving me throughout this entire thing. I don't think I could've done it without you.
Starting tomorrow I will begin posting and sharing some of the art I made for this movie; I'm looking forward to sharing some of my personal favorites with you. I hope each and every one of you enjoys Spiderman: Across the Spiderverse when it hits theaters later today!

⭐Two point Five: pt1, pt2, pt3 [series] by @bratkook // jjk x f.reader // handyman!jk, s2f2l // 🥵🥰
📝 Who would have thought booking a handyman from an app would lead to this. sure, you wish he’d mount you instead of just your television, but you could totally be friends. Right?
🗨️ This is also one of my all time favorites! 💎There is just something incredibly hot about handyman JK 🥵 It is so good, juicy, smutty and there’s comedy in it too! Please don’t be sleeping on this one.
⭐Caught Me by @jeongi // jjk x f.reader // roommate!au, e2l // 🥵😂
📝 You hate your temporary roommate, jungkook and it doesn’t help that he’s been catching you at the most inconvenient of times.
🗨️ This is a fucking MASTERPIECE 💖 I love the banter and comedy, how JK gets on readers nerves 😂 I love absolutely every fucking thing about this and don’t get me started on the smut 🔥🔥 🔥

📝 You’ve been dancing on the same dance crew since your teenage years, and you finally have an important role in it. It feels like life is taunting you when your rival comes back after disappearing for a year, ready to tease you every chance he gets. Will the teasing turn into more, or are you going to take him down with you?
🗨️ This is truly a masterpiece! The writing is perfection and the characters have so much soul, dimension, hurt and love. It is exceptional 👏🏾♥️ you just have to read this gem 💎

⭐The Wedding Planners by @gukyi // jjk x f.reader // e2l, wedding!au // 🥰🥵🌩️
📝 Jeon Jungkook is three things: cocky, terrible, and your worst enemy. Then your best friend Hoseok gets engaged to the love of his life, and suddenly Jeon Jungkook is four things: cocky, terrible, your worst enemy, and the man you will be spending the next seven months with in order to plan your best friend’s wedding. And then, as if your life couldn’t get any shittier, you make the poor decision of sleeping with him on the first day of the job.
⭐In the Dark by @jksangelic // jjk x pjm x f.reader // threesome, f2l, mxm  // 🥵😂
📝 “I can’t get a signal on my phone, the car is dead, and I’m fairly certain we are out of matches.”

📝 What do you do when you’re quarantined for months on end with Jeon Jungkook - S tier cuddler, workout robot, and thirst trap extraordinaire? Fuck him, you guess.
⭐Anpanman by @honeymoonjin // jjk x f.reader // bf2l // 🥵😂🥰
📝 Your best friend jungkook finally convinces you to seek therapy for your failing mental health. the only catch? the one therapist that’s within your price range is an alternative marriage counsellor, jung hoseok, and the only way jungkook managed to get you an appointment was by saying the two of you were married. will couples counselling actually be useful for your wellbeing, or will something that runs much deeper rise to the surface instead?
⭐The Boy with Galaxies in His Eyes by @oddinary4bts // jjk x reader // idol!au + fwb2l // 🌩️🥵🥰
📝 You had never thought the night sky could be found in someone’s eyes. That is, until you met Jeon Jungkook and his gravity pulled you in. Will he crush you with the galaxies in his eyes, or will you learn to explore his worlds and make them yours?
🗨️ It is a long one, but damn is it worth it! It will take you for the very best rollercoaster ride of your life. So if you haven’t read this yet, what are you honestly doing with your life?

can there be an angst ver of the reader giving birth where like the reader dies while giving birth but the child survives and like one of the readers friends gives the hsr boys{dan heng, welt, jing yuan, sampo, gepard, luocha, blade}a letter the reader wrote incase she died while giving birth and the letter said like take care of our child or smt also sorry for this being so specific
Oh snap okay I’ll absolutely try this!
Alternate ending to this, but we’ve added Welt lolol
Cw! Pregnancy
-Honkai Star Rail men and reader who died during childbirth-
Dan Heng: is heartbroken, of course, to hear the news. But his child survived? A little piece of you lives on. I imagine he’d find a way to name the kid after you.
After receiving your last letter, he’s even more determined to raise this kid for you. He wants them to grow up to be like you: kind, compassionate, all of that, so he strives to act like you so his child will imitate. He still struggles with being a distant, and now a SINGLE father, but he makes do with what he has. He also has the Astral Express crew to help him in times of need, and March 7th is a great babysitter when he needs to go on a mission or something.
He misses you so much though. Sometimes he writes you letters, and he stores them in a little letterbox in the archives.
No one else is allowed to read them, but one day when his kid is old enough, he’ll let them look at them.
Welt Yang: Welt Yang immediately asks about his child when he hears the news of your passing. His child is alive, thankfully, the only good news he could’ve hoped for.
He tries to make the best of his situation, without you. Of course he misses you. More than he can say. But he knows he can’t dwell on you forever. Especially once he receives your letter, telling him not to be sad, but to take care of your child to the best of his ability.
And he really does. For himself, and for you. His child is raised in a loving environment, aboard the Astral Express, and Himeko is of great help in raising his child. She becomes a sort of mother figure for your child.
Welt likes to think you would be okay with that.
Jing Yuan: Jing Yuan, for once in his life, is at a loss for words, and he genuinely doesn’t know what to do with himself when he’s handed his baby but told you didn’t make it.
But the General is familiar with loss. It’s not a foreign concept to him. Doesn’t mean it doesn’t hurt any less to lose you, but he knows for his own sake, and the sake of his child that he must move on.
Yanqing becomes an older brother figure to your child, and with his help Jing Yuan finds coping with your passing a little easier. When he’s not busy raising his child, he spends his time in the gardens, reflecting on his time with you, and how short lived your life together was, and how regrettable it is. But he also remembers all the happy times, those are truly important, he knows this, and chooses to focus on honoring the good memories he shared with you, and he looks forward to when his child is old enough to hear about you. He treasures your letter, and keeps it in a drawer of his nightstand, so he can remind himself of the mission you gave him as a father and not as the General.
Sampo Koski: Didn’t want this child in the first place. He’d much rather have you. But then your letter arrives and he does feel a twinge of guilt in his soul. Alright. Fine. If your dying wish was for him to raise this child, then he’ll TRY. He’s still not a great dad. He’s very busy with ‘work’, but he does make a bit more of an effort to speak to and understand his kid.
He’s surprised, but he actually likes his kid quite a bit. They’re like a little you. That’s so precious. Maybe being a father isn’t so bad?
He has a Lot of room for improvement when it comes to fatherhood. He really does. But he does his best too. The type of father who probably brings you up when his kid is a little too young for the news. It’s hard to blame him. He’s just excited to tell his kid about you.
Gepard Landau: takes the news pretty hard. He’s handed his child and all he can think about is you, and how you should be the first one to hold this baby but No you’re DEAD and you can’t hold your baby and-
He spirals a bit. He has a hard time raising the child on his own. At first. Until Serval comes to him with a letter from you, begging you to please do his best if anything should happen to you.
Well, it fills him with determination. Determination to make you proud. Determination to take care of his child.
Serval babysits while he’s at work, which is often, but even when he’s exhausted from work he always comes home and makes time for his kid.
He really is a good dad. Your letter was just what he needed to pull him to his senses. And he has his sister to help him when he needs that assistance, or a nudge in the right direction.
Luocha: (based on my own assumptions about this mysterious man that will Probably be disproved or something in later game updates lolol) Luocha takes the news…a little angrily actually. He can’t believe you’d go and die on him like that, especially for a child he doesn’t even really want. He receives your letter, resists tearing it to shreds in anger. He knows he’ll regret it if he did that. For him, death is not the end. He’ll find a way to bring you back. And he devotes himself even harder to studying immortality.
He doesn’t necessarily…neglect his child. But he’s not a great father without you around. He’s distracted. Focused on his research and work. He doesn’t really have time to raise his child, but he will, since you seemed to desire it so much.
Let’s just say he does his job, but he’s not a great dad without you around. He’d be much better if you were alive and well and by his side.
Blade: Blade is just as quiet and as impassive as ever when he receives the news. But anyone who knows him can tell he’s taking the news HARD.
He entrusts his child to Kafka and Silver Wolf, and just disappears for about a week, your letter in hand. If this is your last wish for him, then fine, he shall fulfill it, he just…needs a moment to grieve you properly. Hence the sudden disappearance.
He grieves hard. He actually cries over your death, in private, away from everyone. He misses you so much. He can’t believe you’d just…leave him alone in this world.
When he returns, it’s like nothing’s happened, except for the fact he has a child to take care of. He quietly thanks Kafka and Silver Wolf for taking care of them while he’s away, and then takes on the responsibility himself. He’s still distant and cold towards his child, but he’s trying his best, and he has Kafka to help him along.

Space Riders AU - @onyxonline Eve Ewe - @lavendersartistry
This is a angst/wholesome fic for onyxonline's Space Riders AU! This is mainly centered on the headcanoned friendship between DogDay and my OC Eve Ewe! Please check Onyx out, their work is super cool!
Tumblr media
IN MY LIL GOOBER BRAIN AND MY PARTICIPATION, THEY ARE FRIENDS YOUR HONOR- Now onto the fic✨✨
The gardens of the palace seemed so silent since the last visit of schooling children touring the home of the soon-to-be queen. It was nice to have the planet still lively after the loss of their late royals from the war, despite the princesses going different paths to keep their home afloat.
Eve could only glance back at the throne room from the gardens, resting under the star wisteria as she quietly read. She couldn't get the memories from her head about the war. It felt like only yesterday that it was announced by the council that her coronation would be near.
If only she could have saved-
"Princess? Are you alright?"
Eve suddenly flinched at the sound of someone calling for her and quickly turned her head. She sighed, noticing it was only her friend DogDay.
"I'm alright. And please, we went over this. You can call me Eve or Evie, friends don't have to be formal."
The captain scratched the back of his head in embarrassment and sat next to the princess. To him, it felt like not too long ago when they first met each other. And befriending a princess, a almost queen, felt too much of a dream to the sunshine critter.
"I know, but I can't really help it. You're becoming big top while I'm just a captain. Besides, I don't think the council or your guard would like it if I just called you that."
Eve stifled a laugh and closed her book, leaning her back to the trunk of the tree.
Ever since she was 5, the council was harsh on her. From lady etiquette to lessons on all preparation for becoming queen of her planet, Eve never truly got to enjoy the life of a normal person. To meet friends, to find love.
Just being happy.
"Those old birds would have the stingrays after you if that happened. But don't worry about Bolt, he's just protective."
DogDay rolled his eyes yet smiled at his friend's enthusiasm. He looked up to the stars, suddenly frowning at the forcefield that clouded the clear sight of the twinkling lights.
He knew that it was necessary, after the war. And with the Prototype out creating chaos, it was definitely needed. But he couldn't shake away the feeling from when Bolt informed him about Eve's dream that one night.
It was a vision, a written destiny almost. And the sunny hound couldn't let that fate take away his friend.
"So what were you reading? Seemed a bit uneventful."
Eve looked back at her book and grazed her hand at the leather covering.
The book was about the biology of the planet's most docile creature: Astral Jellyfish. It was a favorite of Eve's and it was a pleasant memory to see a very large one for the first time.
"The astral jellyfish. You know, my favorite creature in all my planet?"
"You mean the one creature that stung me?"
Eve burst out laughing at his comment while DogDay lightly glared at her.
"It's not funny!"
"It's actually a little funny!"
DogDay huffed and crossed his arms in protest to her laughing but he couldn't help but let a little smile appear on his face to see her laugh and be happy for once.
Eve quickly calmed herself and smiled back.
"You should give them another try. Maybe this time, you won't startle it and it'll let you pet it."
The captain groaned again and stood up.
"How long will you remind me of that?"
"Till you're a veteran."
"Great..."
The hound was being sarcastic. As long as something made the princess smile despite the rough times, that was enough for him.
The two kept conversing in the silence in the gardens: talking about the crew's wacky moments during missions, meeting the mysterious "Angel", Eve's stressful schedules, and other things.
Unbeknownst to them, the astral jellyfish had already welcomed themselves in mindlessly. A few rested near Eve while others floated around DogDay and some pestered him.
Eve could only hold back a laugh as the captain tried shooing away the creatures.
"Still not a fan of them?"
"The day I pet them is when I let CatNap drive the ship for a mission."

Hello nim!! I'm truly happy for your 500 followers milestone! Since I'm also currently obsessed with honkai star rail, please consider writing a fic with "discovery theme" with lee jingyuan and ler danheng! Since danheng's memory has been "reset", It'll be fun if he "discover" what tickles is (probably from march/trailblaizer... or yanqing doing it to jingyuan), and since he's curious, he tries it on jingyuan.
I hope this idea is good!! Have a good day!
The Dragon's Lesson
Honkai: Star Rail - Dan Heng x Jing Yuan
Tumblr media
[500 Followers Milestone Event - "Discovery"]
A/N: Hii anon, thank you so much for your support, heheh. I tweaked a little bit the prompt, so I hope you don't really mind it. I had a reaaally hard time trying to figure how to write this pairing out, but It turned out quite nicely... I think. Anyway, I hope you like it, hehe ~
Summary: After spending some time with the general, Dan Heng finds out something pretty interesting after engaging in one of his games
Word count: 1702 words
Tumblr media
“Are you sure you don’t want to come with us?” March 7th pouted, crossing her arms while Caelus and Welt stood behind her, waiting for Dan Heng’s answer. After the latest events in the Xianzhou Luofu, the crew was finally able to catch some rest before departing to the next destination. And, thanks to the insistence of the general and the master diviner, Welt suggested they should, indeed, spend some more time around. But…
“Yes,” Dan Heng said with a slight smile, looking down before he resumed speaking. “There are a few things I need to take care of and… I’m not sure how welcomed it would be if I walked around the Xianzhou looking like… this,” he muttered, knowing very well how much he resembled a certain person.
The girl was ready to nag him some more, but feeling Welt’s touch in her shoulder, March decided to let it be. “Alright, just call us if anything happens, ok?” The man said, looking at the other two, “let’s get going, then, the ms. Fu Xuan wouldn’t like it if we showed up late.”
Slowly waving his hand, Dan Heng said goodbye to the members of the Astral Express as they walked out the room. It was a large, fancy place, requested by no other than the general himself to accommodate their honorable guests.
The general…
Dan Heng let out a sigh when Jing Yuan’s figure occupied his mind. He wasn’t sure how to feel about him yet, nor what kind of relationship his past self used to have with the general, but it wouldn’t be right to say that there was no feeling at all. It was just… uncertain.
Letting himself get lost in a turmoil of thoughts, one after the other, Dan Heng was caught off guard when someone suddenly knocked on the door. Shooting his eyes open, the vidyadhara turned his attention to the door, as whoever was on the other side knocked again. “Just a second,” he voiced, walking over. “Who’s there?”
He could feel the hesitation on the other side, letting the silence take place for a few seconds before the other person would finally speak. “Did I come at a bad time?” A male voice chuckled, making its identity clear.
Opening the door, Dan Heng was met with the general friendly gaze. A warm, but contained smile formed on his lips. “Not at all, general, but… do you need something? May I be of help?”
“Ahaha, there is no need for such formalities between us,” Jing Yuan said, shaking his head, “I was just hoping I could invite you for a walk. The gardens have been somewhat… lonely lately and I’d love to hear more about you.”
If Dan Heng’s tail was visible at that moment, Jing Yuan would be able to see it wagging in excitement.
“Ah… sure, it would be a pleasure.”
Taking a step back, Jing Yuan gave the other some room to step out, closing the door behind him before starting to walk side by side with the general. Dan Heng was still confused, not able to figure out exactly how he felt towards Jing Yuan and, even more, if those were his or Dan Feng’s feelings.
As they arrived in the gardens, Dan Heng couldn’t help but feel a sense of familiarity towards that place, but, at the same time, curiosity to walk deeper into it.
“You- I mean, Dan Feng used to come here often,” Jing Yuan said from behind, hoping to not disturb the other’s experience, “well, at least when Yingxing wasn’t around, hahah.”
Gently lifting a flower from the ground to feel its scent, Dan Heng let out a small chuckle hearing the other’s mistake. An habit that at first annoyed him, but, after spending more time with the general, he began to find it more amusing. “I see… and I suppose this was where you met him the most? What else did you two used to do when he came over?”
The general sighed in contempt, shaking his head as he chuckled softly. “It all used to happen when I was younger, hahah. You’ll have to apologize to me, but this old man’s head isn’t as good as it used to be back then.”
Dan Heng arched his eyebrow, turning his attention back to Jing Yuan, who was fondly smiling at him. “If you don’t wish to share it, general, there is no need to lie to me,” he pouted lightly, to the level where it was almost unnoticeable.
“I’m not lying,” Jing Yuan insisted, raising his hands in front of his chest. Dan Heng sighed, he didn’t seem to want to push the matter further, having a bad feeling about it, but he couldn’t help but feel a little upset. “I swear I can’t remember, don’t be mad ~” Jing Yuan mused as he walked over, watching the Vidyadhara Elder slightly turn his face away.
“You are acting just like Yanqing when I turn his spar requests down,” the general teased, noticing how Dan Heng insisted on treating him with silence. “If you keep this up, I’ll have to treat you like I treat him, then.”
Dan Heng needed to keep looking away, otherwise Jing Yuan would be able to see his lips curling into a smile as well. This playful approach of the general enticed his curiosity even further, making him wonder what he had up his sleeve.
Then, before he could wonder about Jing Yuan’s next step, Dan Heng felt a pair of hands attack both his sides, gently squeezing the spot. Letting out a surprised - and embarrassingly loud - squeal, Dan Heng quickly moved away from the general, turning back to him with an annoyed look. "What was that about?!"
"Oh, so you were listening to me, huh?" Jing Yuan laughed, wiggling his fingers menacingly towards Dan Heng. "But it seems you are pretty sensitive…"
"Don't you dare, general. Or I-"
"Or you what, Dan Heng? Come on, it's just a little tickling…" He took one step forward, making the other take one step back, trying to keep the distance between them the same despite Jing Yuan`s attempts to get closer.
"Or I will tickle you," Dan Heng said, not thinking properly before snapping back at the general. Those words, however, only seemed to amuse Jing Yuan even further, making his grin grow larger. There was no way he was letting such a discovery slip through his fingers like that.
"Oh? You'll tickle me?" He continued in a defiant tone, trying to read through him. If it was Dan Feng, he would be sent flying away in a blast of water for trying such a thing. But Dan Heng? He was pretty sure he could beat him in this kind of fight.
Tired of waiting, Jing Yuan decided to make the first move, reaching out his hand towards the other man. However, as he was merely inches away from Dan Heng, the general could only catch a glimpse of his tail moving in a defensive manner, landing a heavy - but not so strong - strike against his middle, enough to tackle him to the ground.
Letting out an audible grunt when his back hit the gardens’ ground, Jing Yuan could only let out a chuckle. “Sorry, sorry, I didn’t mean to ann-”
“I warned you, general,” Dan Heng interrupted him, smirking as he sat down on the other’s lap, his nimble hands already finding their way to Jing Yuan’s waist, pinching the spot through the cloth in his way. “And it seems… you are also a little sensitive, hm?”
A crooked smile quickly formed on his lips as some panicked giggles escaped. Wait, was he for real? Was he actually fighting back like that? The general tried to hold his wrists and push him away, twisting his torso as he attempted to escape. “D-Dan Feheng, wait- ahaAH!”
A louder cackle escaped right before he could say something else. The vidyadhara gave him a stern look, shaking his head in disapproval. “That’s not my name, general, how many times do I need to tell you that I’m not him?” Dan Heng said, feigning annoyance as he dug a little harder on Jing Yuan’s sides.
But there was no doubt this wasn’t the former elder, not a single one. After all, Jing Yuan knew very well Dan Feng would never engage in his “foolish and childish” games. Maybe that was the reason why his reincarnation could catch him off guard so easily.
“S-sohohohorry! A-ahAHah, y-you can stohohop now!”
“Didn’t you say yourself that “it’s just a little tickling”?” Dan Heng mused with a smile, clawing at the general sides, making his laughter grow a little louder. If anyone from the Astral Express saw him right now, he wasn’t sure how he would explain himself - but it was just too early to stop.
With his legs immobilized under Dan Heng’s tail’s weight and his waist straddled, there was very little room for Jing Yuan to squirm - not to mention the fact that the other placed himself in such a way that he was sitting just out of the general’s reach, make it actually really hard (or impossible) to properly fight back the tickling. “I-I wahas wrohohong, Dan Heheheng!”
Jing Yuan pressed his eyes shut and laid his head back as he gave himself into the laughter, unable to do anything else other than hope to receive some mercy. “AhahAH, j-juhust quihihit it!”
Dan Heng slowly stopped moving his fingers, chuckling to himself. It was a rare sight to see the general laugh so carefreely, a much different sight from his usual self. “Guess Yanqing isn’t the only one that needs to learn… how to properly pick up a fight, huh?”
“A-ah, I suppose… I still have a few things to learn…” Jing Yuan sighed in relief, shyly giggling at himself. Just when he thought it was over, the general could feel the tip of the other’s tail tapping against his leg. Taken by curiosity, he opened his eyes, looking up to Dan Heng to be met with a mischievous grin.
“So… let’s see if you really learned your lesson, general.”
“Hah… surely, I look forward your teaching, Dan Heng.”

palisade 28!
first of all, the intro—loved it. honoring black screen, reclaiming rhythm, acknowledging that post-combustor it still doesn’t feel like anything’s changed, but pushing forward anyway… (also i am so curious about this pirate rap station. who are the other hosts?? what are their shows like??)
i know the particular game of the interview scene was that brnine couldn’t gain any rhetorical ground, but ali absolutely slayed. incredible rp. truly a horrifying situation and brnine still landed some fantastic lines.
also want to make some sort of comparison to fever-dream and nightmare sequences—not quite sure what to call it, but i’m thinking of the kind of scene where a delirious character seems to hallucinate old arguments. coming under judgment, past and present blurring. (and how do we understand what it means to leave palisade?)
“stolen cameo” is a cool ship name but it became much funnier when it was revealed that they had kidnapped brnine to put them on tv
the question i had during that sequence was what’s asepsis doing while brnine’s in prison, and by the end of the episode i still had that question but even more so. what… the fuck! (also, didn’t brnine have some drones with them? does asepsis know where they are???)
eclectic opposition is The keith character name lmao. that’s just all of them already
jokes aside this character rips and i’m so excited for more terrible sleuth energy. black sequined poncho. “eclectic, and easily.” i have such a soft spot for noir aesthetics pasted over another genre. also very excited to dig into why all these hooks are “leap says”.
brief reflection on crew dynamics in brnine’s absence: figure stepped up, thisbe stepped in. which is really cool to see for both of them. figure took the lead in the scene and called the meeting to order, which really speaks to their freedom and confidence post-clem. thisbe didn’t do that, despite being technically in command, but she redirected the conversational dynamic in the way brnine might’ve tried to (her telling cori that vaping is bad for you is maybe my new favorite thisbe line… okay, no, it’s still second to “spoilers, corn is a grass”, but it’s up there.)
really excited for figure’s plotline! talking to gur, seeing ghosts everywhere, bringing partial palisade onboard—they’ve leveled up and i’m so here for it. (also thinking about the past bleeding into the present, or maybe it’s better to understand that as a sort of recognition of continuity—same people, only changed. (which appeared a few times in this episode.) anyway, no new life can free you from your past, etc etc.)
also: partial palisade!!!! coming back onscreen!!!!!! we LOVE to see it
my main feeling after the latest faction turn was that somehow, post-combustor, nothing had actually changed. the blue channel got a huge win! the hugest! and then the cause went directly back to reacting to (and losing to) the authority, rather than actually making moves (cf outro of 25). i’m hoping we see more of a shift on the blue channel side, at least—it seems like the table is still set for that. having partial palisade on board could be really powerful (plotwise/thematically but maybe also mechanically). who knows—things could take a while to develop. (but also let’s drop another pillar!!!)

I just finished reading your new fanfic "Meet-Q'ute" and really enjoyed it. T'Lyn x Ma'ah is an underrated rarepair with so much potential, given their differences in culture and how others of their species would perceive the relationship, especially since a Klingon/Vulcan mutual romance has never been done before in Star Trek history. Also, I wonder how'd they feel about the stereotypes and commercialization of their species/culture (Bat'leths and BiHnuchs, Vulcan Love Slave, Klingon wigs, etc).
Ah thank you so much! Truly an underrated pairing lol.
I feel like seeing a happy Vulcan and Klingon romance would be just so so interesting. And especially from two people who don't feel entirely accepted by their home cultures! I think they would really get each other's struggle of not feeling "Vulcan/Klingon enough" for where they come from.
My little working headcanon right now would be something along the lines of Ma'ah slowly becoming more and more disillusioned by Klingon military culture following the attempted mutiny of his crew, as his view of "honor" shifts from something external (and that therefore can be taken away by public opinion even if you don't deserve it) to something internal (his own sense of honorable conduct). The latter seems to be somewhat of a minority opinion in Klingon culture, where honor functions as a social pressure in conjunction with social shaming and shunning for most people ,instead of an internal guide that defines your conduct regardless of whether other people agree (which is how Ma'ah already instinctively seems to be using it, whether he realizes it or not).
Meanwhile, T'Lyn's arc of working through her own shame of not being a proper Vulcan would continue simultaneously, with them keeping in touch and meeting up from time to time to talk. Her story would eventually come to a head when she finds out whatever the real reason is her former commanding officer transferred her to Starfleet and what exactly is "wrong" with her (from the Vulcan point of view).
I think they'd be in a unique position to understand each other and work through those journeys together, perhaps with Ma'ah eventually defecting from the Imperial Fleet and joining Starfleet after a long battle with himself of realizing that honor, as he understands the word, is pretty lacking in the upper ranks of the Empire. I think him finally hearing about what really happened to Worf during Sins of the Father would be the thing to cement his decision to leave and seek a more honorable life (and death) elsewhere.

Character Spotlight: Worf
By Ames
Tumblr media
It’s an honorable week here on A Star to Steer Her By because we’re shining our character spotlight on the show’s first Klingon main character, Worf, Son of Mogh! He’s also the first specifically main cast member to span two different series (sorry, O’Brien), so we’ve got glimpses from both The Next Generation and its films and also Deep Space Nine to cover. Worf might get the most time of any character to truly develop, growing from the guy who gets thrown across the room by the baddie of the week into the complex warrior who, for just a moment, wears the robes of the Chancellor of the Klingon High Council. Go Worf!
So put on your baldric, grab your bat’leth, and top off your mug of bloodwine as we give Worf all the honor he deserves (which every so often, isn’t very much, but other times is a lot!). Read on for the commendable battles below and listen to our death yells over on this week’s podcast (fight your way to 55:39). Today is a good day to die.

Best moments
Tumblr media
Bloodwine is red / Andorians are blue… While we gave Dr. Pulaski lots of props for whipping up an antidote so she could participate in Worf’s version of a tea party, it’s also just lovely that Worf honors her by performing the ceremony in the first place in “Up the Long Ladder.” Deep down under the head ridges and scowl, Worf is just a poetry-reading, tea-sipping teddy bear and we love it.
Tumblr media
Klingon paper dolls Star Trek characters jump at any opportunity to play dress up, and we get a good instance of that in “The Emissary” when Worf and K’Ehleyr put on their warrior garb to trick a crew of Klingons in cryostasis into thinking they represent the Klingon Empire. As always, this episode gets some extra points for featuring K’Ehleyr, and it turns out Worf’s pretty good at improvisation too.
Tumblr media
We have bonded and our families are stronger While we’re certainly going to give Worf some shit for how badly he parents his biological son, his connection with Jeremy Aster in “The Bonding” is actually quite beautiful for the both of them. Each an orphan, they are able to form a familial-type relationship together, and it’s really touching when Worf invites Jeremy to join him in the R'uustai that will bond them as brothers.
Tumblr media
He has claimed the right of vengeance A trend emerged in our Best Worf Moments when they tended to fall into the “killing the fuck out of some jerk who deserves it” category, and the first to really deserve it is Duras in “Reunion.” Duras has been begging to get murdered since we first heard his contemptible name, but when he killed Worf’s mate in cold blood, Worf knew exactly what he had to do with his bat'leth.
Tumblr media
You may now give birth Despite the fact that it resulted in adding a baby to the cast (blech), we have to give some credit to Worf for delivering the O’Brien baby in “Disaster” in a way that only he could. We’d need a whole additional blogpost for all the great Worf one-liners throughout the two series, as Michael Dorn’s delivery is always gold, but “Push, Keiko, push” has got to be pretty high up there.
Tumblr media
Doesn’t gik’tal mean to the death? Worf sees so much potential in Sito Jaxa in “Lower Decks” and spends most of the episode arguing on her behalf for a promotion. So when we see Worf testing her with the made-up gik’tal martial arts to teach her to stick up for herself, we can’t help but see in her just what Worf sees. Ya know, until Picard totally gets her killed.
Tumblr media
Assimilate this! Sure, it’s a soundbite-y line designed to be marketable in the trailer, but when Worf survives getting his EV suit punctured by tying it off with some Borg bits and then blows up the interplexing beacon in First Contact, it just feels right. Maybe it’s that Michael Dorn can get away with cheesy lines like “Assimilate this!” or maybe we just love watching Borg explode.
Tumblr media
If you were any other man, I would kill you where you stand While the movies are mostly showcases for Picard and Data, First Contact gives some great moments to the other castmembers. Worf’s standoff with Picard is nothing short of chilling. Borg are overrunning the ship and Picard orders Worf and his security team to what is almost certain to be their deaths. Lucky for us, Worf doesn’t actually mutiny, just threatens to a little bit.
Tumblr media
And in this corner… While we spent most of The Next Generation watching Worf getting knocked around as shorthand for “the alien threat is strong,” by Deep Space Nine, we don’t really get that anymore and instead he actually gets to kick some ass! In “By Inferno's Light,” Worf is forced to battle Jem’Hadar after Jem’Hadar in the fighting ring, and he refuses to quit even when he has every right to.
Tumblr media
Help me fight again, Worf You’ll see in a second that sometimes when Worf tries to help another Klingon die with honor, things can get complicated, but when Kor asks for help going out in the warrior fashion, Worf is totally a good guy about it. He gets the old legend a place on Martok’s ship in “Once More Unto the Breach” even though it’s not Martok’s favorite thing, but in the end, Sto’Vo’kor gains a new warrior.
Tumblr media
Seven down, one to go We still have more “killing the fuck out of some jerk who deserves it” mentions to bring up! What list would be complete without the murder of at least one Weyoun on it? In this case, Worf straight up snaps the neck of Weyoun 7 in “Strange Bedfellows” when he has the opportunity and it is a thing of such beauty that it gains Damar’s respect.
Tumblr media
What I have done was for the Empire Finally, our last jerk who needed to get killed the fuck out of is that bastard Gowron in “Tacking into the Wind.” Gowron was going around making terrible decisions, rewriting the history books, and trying to get Martok killed in various ways, and Worf finally has enough and kills him in honorable combat. He gets the cloak of the Chancellor for it but selflessly passes it to Martok, like an absolute boss.
Worst moments
Tumblr media
I would rather die than pollute my body with Klingon filth While Geordi is putting racism aside to be able to coexist with his new BFF Bochra in “The Enemy,” Worf takes the opposite path. By refusing to let Crusher give his blood to Patahk, Worf condemns the injured Romulan to death just because of his race. And then the show takes some of the guilt off Worf by having Patahk refuse treatment anyway, leaving Worf’s hands clean, I guess.
Tumblr media
This is not unlike a drumhead trial Worf is also quick to fall in line with Admiral Satie’s Red Scare of a trial against crewman Tarses in “The Drumhead.” He gets so infatuated with dispensing justice that he jumps past “innocent until proven guilty” and determines that Tarses is guilty of treason because he’d lied about his alien heritage, when the two things aren’t even related.
Tumblr media
Would you further dishonor our family with your disobedience? It’s a running joke in the Star Trek community that Worf is a terrible father and… well, he is. To his defense, he did have Alexander sprung on him when K’Ehleyr died in “Reunion,” and he did try to pawn the little brat off on the Rozhenkos, but that was a terrible move too. So when we watch how clueless he is trying to parent in “New Ground,” we cringe hard at how Worf just doesn’t get it.
Tumblr media
Donkey Kong: 1. Worf: 0. A lot of Worf’s decisions about how to deal with his paraplegia in “Ethics” are complicated and problematic, but the way he ended up in such a state is what we’re really here to roast him on. My dude got bitched by a big blue plastic barrel in the cargo bay, and that is downright dishonorable for a Klingon warrior. Battle, sure. Explosion, fine. Spat with Spot, of course. But not blue barrel!
Tumblr media
How could your mother mate with a Romulan? Worf’s prejudice against Romulans comes out again in “Birthright” when he learns that Ba’el is half Romulan and he starts spouting racist accusations at her when he’s already seen what kind of a person she is, and even what kind of person her father is. Since his father’s death at Khitomer, it’s a long road for Worf to accept that all Romulans are not that same, and it’s unclear if he ever gets there.
Tumblr media
Tell him he is a pretty cat and a good cat All your hosts here at A Star to Steer Her By are ride-or-die cat people, so when Worf refuses to tell Spot he’s a good cat and a pretty cat in “Phantasms” when Data asks him to look after the feline, we take it super personally. Frankly, Data should have looked elsewhere for someone to catsit because what’s supposed to be a humorous moment in the show just makes us angry at Worf. Hiss!
Tumblr media
I believe the Ferengi bartender is plotting something By the time Worf joins Deep Space Nine, his racism against Romulans doesn’t come up, but his racism against the Ferengi sure does. Ever since “Hippocratic Oath,” Worf refuses to call Quark by name, instead calling him “The Ferengi bartender.” We joke sometimes on the podcast that the only race it’s okay to be racist against is the Ferengi, but you know what? It’s really not okay.
Tumblr media
My life is in your hands Sure, we can argue that Kurn coming to Worf for the Klingon rite of Mauk-to’Vor in “Sons of Mogh” is messed up and puts Worf in a tough position, but Worf manages to pick an even worse outcome for his brother. Instead of killing him and sending Kurn to Sto’Vo’kor with his honor intact, Worf does the least honorable thing and has Bashir wipe Kurn’s memory. Without Kurn’s consent! Eeesh.
Tumblr media
Everything you do reflects on me There were a bunch of times during DS9 that we really thought Jadzia could do better than having Worf as her mate, and “Let He Who Is Without Sin” is the chief offender. Worf starts the episode arguing about Jadzia consorting with other men even though she’s with him now, gets jealous of the Dax’s previous relationships, and generally poopoo’s Jadzia’s streak of individuality like a toxic boyfriend.
Tumblr media
Have you accepted Kahless as your lord and savior? And that’s not even the worst thing Worf does in the abysmal episode “Let He Who Is Without Sin.” He spends the rest of their vacation on Risa palling around with the New Essentialists who’ve decided that people enjoying things is bad form, which is just Worf being petty. So when he goes out of his way to help them literally rain on everyone’s parade, it’s super damaging to his character.
Tumblr media
I do not know you, nor do I wish to know you After Jadzia’s death, Worf utterly fails as grieving in a healthy, productive way and instead opts to take it out on Ezri during “Afterimage.” Just because she’s not Jadzia, Worf treats the poor Trill with disdain, ignoring the fact that she too is living through the trauma of being joined to the symbiont. None of this is her fault! Don’t yell at the innocent cupcake!
Tumblr media
If it looks like a Dax and it quacks like a Dax… Worf and Jadzia had chemistry like whoa and we were here for it. Worf and Ezri… just don’t. So when they bump uglies in “Penumbra,” we just find it kinda gross and distasteful. My dude, that is not your wife anymore, and she’s in a very vulnerable state having had the Dax symbiont thrust upon her, so it strikes us as kind of problematic that they go to the bone zone (and I don’t mean Worf’s calisthenics program).
Qapla’! Now that we’ve got our honor back, take the R'uustai with us and subscribe so that you can see our next batch of character spotlights as we segue smoothly into our crewmates from Deep Space Nine! On the flip side, you can listen along to our dishonorable rewatch of Enterprise over on SoundCloud or wherever you podcast, challenge us to a bat’leth fight on Facebook and Twitter, and join us for some good tea in a nice house.

The Cooper family has signed off the air for good.
After seven seasons, Young Sheldon aired its moving, two-part series finale on Thursday, May 16. Cast members including Iain Armitage, Raegan Revord, and Annie Potts paid tribute to their time on the CBS comedy, showing their love on social media.
Armitage, 15, who played young Sheldon Cooper, posted on Instagram, "I’ve always wondered what this day would feel like and now it’s here! Thank you for a wonderful ride. I will miss everyone so much and I want you to know that it’s been an honor to play this part, and it’s been a joy to work with people I love so much."
"I’m excited to see what’s next and I hope you’ll join me on the next chapter, whatever that is. ❤️ I truly hope you enjoy the finale. It was made with a lot of love," the actor added, alongside a photo of himself posing on a couch.
Revord, 16, who played Missy Cooper, posted a video featuring moments from their time on the show, alongside the caption, "Over the years I’ve watched a lot of my favorite shows have their series finales and one thing I always thought about is how heartbreaking it must be to say goodbye, never thinking about my own because it seemed so far into the future."
"Here I am on the day of my own finale heartbroken. I love this cast, our incredible crew, and these characters so much not having them in my life everyday seems impossible. But I’m also filled with wonderful memories, a beautiful childhood, a family forever, and gratitude," Revord continued.
"Thank you to those that have tuned in over the years and for loving these characters as much as we do. I hope you enjoy the finale tonight, it’s some of the most beautiful episodes of TV I’ve ever watched. ❤️"
Sharing a photo alongside Coach Dale Ballard actor Craig T. Nelson, 80, Potts, 71, who played Meemaw, wrote, "❤️Love and Gratitude for 7 great seasons #YoungSheldon."
Caleb Emery, 30, who played Darren, posted a grab of him and Armitage on his Instagram Stories, writing, "Congrats to this guy! What a run! Glad I was a part of it!"
Pastor Jeff Hodgkins actor Matt Hobby was among those posting about the finale, writing alongside two photos, "My first day at Young Sheldon, and my last day at Young Sheldon."
"I’m so grateful to have been a part of this wonderful story for 7 years. I will miss these kind, genius, loving people. I’m so proud that this will always be a part of my life. #youngsheldon," Hobby added.
Wyatt McClure, 15, who played Billy Sparks, added, "Bittersweet day today. Series finale of Young Sheldon is on tonight. Although the end is coming I have made lifelong friends forever."
"Get your tissues ready. Thank you to everyone on the show who made this the greatest 7 years possible. Looking forward to the next chapter!#cbsyoungsheldon #cbs," McClure added.
Melissa Joan Hart, 48, who directed a handful of episodes of the show, shared multiple snaps with the cast on Instagram, writing, "Bittersweet post about the series finale of @youngsheldoncbs tonight!"
"I had the absolute honor to direct a handful of episodes for this groundbreaking show with this incredible cast and so many icons coming thru the door as guest stars as well! What's a ride and congrats to all my friends on a show that made people laugh, cry and come back to appointment television! #YoungSheldon."
Nora guest star Kate Flannery, 59, wrote on Instagram, "Congratulations @youngsheldoncbs What a great run! Thank you @iain you are a smart, funny, and very kind soul. It was so great working with you. A finale is a graduation! Thank you for letting me be a small part of this lovely show a few short years ago. ❤️ You did it!!"
Vyvy Nguyen, who also guest starred on the show, then shared a cute clip on Instagram of her and Armitage having an "oink-off," writing, "I had the absolute best time working on the show, playing the mother to Tam, Sheldon’s high school best friend, and it’s been so fun to receive messages from people discovering it on Netflix. Congrats on seven wonderful seasons! #youngsheldon."
Jim Parsons, 51, and Mayim Bialik, 48, also starred in the show, reprising their roles from The Big Bang Theory, portraying adult Sheldon and his wife Amy, respectively.
In exclusive interviews with PEOPLE at PaleyFest 2024 in April, the cast reflected on the years they spent together filming the beloved CBS comedy.
“It's been very bittersweet. It's not an easy thing to know that something that's been so wonderful for us is coming to an end,” Zoe Perry, 40, who played Mary Cooper, said. “But I think I can speak for everyone that we're all just really grateful that we've gotten to tell this story, tell it for as long as we have, get to experience the audience reactions and how wonderful they've been. I think we're just so appreciative. Truly.”
Montana Jordan, 21, who played Georgie Cooper, described his castmates as a true-blue “family,” even when the cameras weren’t rolling as they did activities together outside of work. Revord in particular, bugged him “all the time” via text “to do stuff."
"I got two older sisters in real life, and on the show I got a little brother and a little sister, so I got the best of both worlds,” Jordan said, adding, “We've been a family ever since the first day we met — and we're still a family. Just because the show's ending don't mean we're not going to continue being a family. That's what kind of bond we got.”
Potts, for her part, grew emotional when PEOPLE asked her at the same event about her experiences working with Young Sheldon's younger actors.
"They were this big, and now look at them,” she said. “My God, they all turned out so beautiful and so sweet, and we feel like we had a hand in raising them … When we started out, they would sit in my lap and just play with my fingers and kiss me and tell me they love me all day long. That, and they still do actually."

BLADES OF LIGHT AND SHADOW BOOK 2 CHAPTER 5
Part Seven (good lord there are so many screenshots)
Imagine the freedom he felt, the weight that got off his chest, when he found the party and realized they were people that thought the same thing about Baldur.
And then imagine the guilt and dread he felt about the fact that there was no going back in that moment from the plan
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The air is cleaner
The birds are chirping.
Nature is truly healing.
"You can walk a different path." THIS WOULD HAVE BEEN SUCH A GOOD MOMENT TO HAVE THE "You'd still have me? Even as I am?" FROM THE FINALE RETURN. But I'll let the writers keep it for another moment for maximum angst impact.
"He clutches your hand as he asks the question, as though afraid of the answer." YOUR HONOR, IT'S TOO MUCH. THE FEELS.
He's such a cheeky motherfucker. I love to see more of it because I lived it when he held Lord Gillbottle of Whitetower over our heads and teased us about it in book one
I think there was a typo in my last screenshot and that it should say: Nia darts to and fro,...
But I'll let it go because its cute.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This chapter was such an awesome change of pace from the ones we had in the past. More action, more drive new monsters and our familiar and lively crew with a new member.
I thought this chapter was quite phenomenal and loved the angst. Not just with Aerin but also Mal getting a little mad and saying we don't understand him or the others because we were asleep for a year in the shadow realm. (Which was a bit much imo cause we were still getting experimented on and had our blood taken.)
I hope we see a little more of the struggles the others went through in the year we were gone and the struggles Aerin will have to go through in the future such as coning to terms with what he has done and trying to make up for it.
Anyways, peace out homies and until next week.

you referring to your story as the cast and crew is so spot on like YES it does feel like a whole production!! LMAO. ive been thinking to myself since the first time i read these books that they are so movie worthy bc they LITERALLY have it all. amazing fucking plot with continuous turns of events? check. complex characters that are flawed and traumatized but so easily loved and main character worthy? check. romance, eternal fucking love, deep relationships between the characters? CHECK. various subplots in the third part that all meet into one heart wrenching scene? FUCKING CHECK.
THEN IT ENDS WITH SUCH A POWERFUL AND EMOTIONAL FIGHT SCENE. AND YOU FOLLOW IT ALL UP WITH A PREQUEL? GOODNESS.
i could truly imagine everything into a movie while reading these books and i can never get enough of them.
not to mention this is barely scratching the surface of the thought you put into love endless as a whole bc that world building of yours? the branches coming out of this story with conall and everything AND you're supplying us with extra scenes just for the sake of it bc you're so fucking amazing and dedicated. (all while torturing us with the suspense)
is this not the definition of perfect?
GOODness GRAcious ME oh MY! You sure do know how to butter me up. You could lead me right into a trap and destroy me with those kinds of compliments. Listen, it's been such a great privilege to write something that people enjoy almost as much as I do pft. A genuine honor to get feedback like this, and a joy to consistently add to and grow the universe. The fact that people care beyond the main story arc of the fandom couple from which this all spawns is craaaazy. I get people caring about Louis and Harry.... They obviously found the story that way. But caring about Conall? Harlock? Agnes? OCs that have 0% to do with 1d that are loved is the greatest compliment. I'll keep writing this until there is no extra place I could possibly take it. Every story has to end some time. But I've still got a bit to go before I throw in this towel, and I may always keep the option to commission scenes in the extras book open. Thank you for being such a massive sweetheart. 💗

Judith Banters: Isabela
Judith: For what it’s worth, I’m sorry about your crew. Losing that many at once … that can’t be easy.
Isabela: There’s always that danger. My men all knew the risks, and the sea takes what it wants. We’d lost people before. But nothing like that.
Judith: Is there … something I can do? How would one honor a pirate lost at sea?
Isabela: Keep your honor. I’ve already had my own funeral. Poured some whiskey into the sea, the best I could afford. Hope wherever they went is better than this.
*
Judith: I want to help you, but I don’t see what more I can do if I don’t even know what this relic is.
Isabela: I’ll know it when I see it.
Judith: (sighs) All right … and so, getting back this item, this relic, this was your task after freeing Ferelden refugees?
Isabela: That’s right. He took advantage of their desperation, promised to take them somewhere safe, and took every last coin in the process.
Judith: What a monster! If he’s willing to do that, why would he honor this? I would sooner guess he would send you on some even more impossible task, keep you under his thumb forever.
Isabela: Maybe, but if I don’t get it, he will definitely have me killed.
Judith: If I can’t find the relic, I can at least watch over you, if he ever comes calling.
Isabela: He’d sooner send more men, but you helped me with Hayder so… I guess this is as good a plan as any.
*
Isabela: If we’re done here, I’m heading to the Rose.
Judith: I’ll come with you.
Isabela: What, you? Don’t take this the wrong way, Hawke, but I’ve never seen you so much as wink at someone. I didn’t think you had the appetite.
Judith: The workers there have all sorts of skills. Jethann is an excellent conversationalist, sometimes he even has good information for potential work I can follow up on. Faith has such skillful hands; she’s done wonders on my back. Although she claims I’ll need to come by once a month for a year for her to untangle everything.
Isabela: You pay them to talk and give you messages? Nothing else?
Judith: Oh, and their meat pie is much better than that of the Hanged Man’s, although it’s not without its own charm.
Isabela: Oh, Hawke, I just don’t understand you… although I could use a good foot rub. I didn’t realize how much walking I’d be doing working with you.
*
Isabela: So, you really just go to the Rose for food and talking? Those ‘suitors’ your Mother picks for you are all sent home?
Judith: This doesn’t… bother you, does it?
Isabela: No, I just don’t get it. If it’s a matter of confidence, you could get anyone you wanted. With those legs? I wish I had legs that went on like that.
Judith: Oh, that’s so kind! I’ve always loved your hair!
Isabela: Well that’s swee—hey, don’t change the subject.
Judith: I’m sorry, Isabela. It took me a long time to learn this about myself. Most people … have certain appetites. They may eat whenever they get an opportunity, or maybe just every now and again. I don’t dislike eating, but I simply … don’t get hungry very often. It has to be my favorite meal, I suppose, for me to feel any hunger. Does that make sense?
Isabela: I suppose, although the metaphor is harder to parse when I’ve watched you down three bowls of Mystery Stew at the Hanged Man.
*
Isabela: You can’t seem to pass out coin fast enough.
Judith: You needn’t worry, it does not impact payment for the Guild. You will always get what you’re owed.
Isabela: That’s not the point, it’s your money. Don’t you ever spend it on YOU?
Judith: I did refurnish the estate and restocked the pantry .. and this new armor, and a new dress for Mother.
Isabela: Hawke, sometimes you are worse than Aveline.
Judith: …Don’t say things you can’t take back, Isabela.
Isabela: But you don’t owe these people anything! You truly think they would spare anything to you, if things were switched?
Judith: My family would never have survived without the kindness of neighbors, sometimes complete strangers. I believe we owe everyone that much.

Judith: Isabela, about the ship… can’t we talk?
Isabela: No, I think I’d rather stew on it for a while. I’m only here because I need the coin. Who knows how long it’ll take be to save up for a ship?
Judith: I can help get you a new ship.
Isabela: Ugh, that’s not the point and you know it! You keep trying to fix things that aren’t yours to fix!
Judith: Isabela, you know damn well Castillon did not deserve to walk out of there. You’ve always known that.
Isabela: It wasn’t your decision to make. And besides, there’s a thousand men just like Castillon out there! Does it really make any difference?
Judith: If that’s how you feel, why didn’t you just damn those refugees from the start, save your own skin?
Isabela: That … that was different!
Judith: Why, because this time the people he’d sell weren’t right below your feet?
Isabela: I. I need to think.
*
Isabela: So… you and Sebastian?
Judith: I suppose you find it very funny.
Isabela: Not at all! I’ve never been able to seduce a Chantry cleric. Unless you count lay sisters and brothers, but never has anyone left their station to sleep with me! Quite the accomplishment!
Judith: Oh, Isabela, I didn’t “seduce” anyone, it’s more complicated than that. He decided for himself it was time to move on from the Chantry. And we just happened to get closer along the way.
Isabela: But you ARE sleeping with him, right? What happened to your “appetite”?
Judith: That’s all still true. I don’t get hungry much. But now that I’ve gotten to know him, I look at him and realize I’m famished.
Isabela: (laughs).

(un)happy anniversary to aziz being cancelled aka a year since i last felt truly excited about a piece of media. or anything at all for that matter.
ngl, i think that the show ended and part of my soul kinda died with it too. for some reason, not fully lnown to myself yet either, i can't look forward to any media and/or event anymore. not really. "curious" would be the correct word, and that's as far as i can get at this time, honestly. will i ever move on? no, probably not. am i being annoying? (for which i sincerely apologize — first and foremost — to my mutuals and the people i follow, because sometimes i can be.. a lot, and please know that you never, absolutely never should feel in any way oblgated to reblog anything i post. it's your blog, you own it, and you decide what other people should and should not see. and me posting so much is just a result of.... a very intense and profound love for the show, which i think, i personally didn't have enough time to express. please, remember that, and do not feel in anyway pressed — if i tagged you (and i always try to tag people according to their interests, or if i want to show that i was inpired by them) that is because i love seeing your tags in my activity feed very much!) yes, and i am very well aware of that but honestly? also don't care. kinda. anyway, enough of my pathetic rambling, lol. i made this post to let y'all know something very important —
and i know i said this numerous times before, but —
thank you.
thank you to everyone who watched the show, shared their thoughts, or expressed their interest in any way. and thank you to everyone who continues doing it now, a year later — know that i see you all, and i love you all 💜 and i will continue doing my thing (both on my main and over at @azizcentral) as long as there's a posibility that one more person will see this wonderful, deep, emotional, and magical story that's important to me on so many levels i can't even begin to tell you about. And i thank the cast, the crew, each and everyone who worked on the show to bring it to life. I am now and i will look forward to seeing what you do in the future, and i wish nothing but the best for all of you! And i know they won't see it, but i don't really care. THANK YOU for the gift you gave us. And i call it a gift because that's what it is to me — i met wonderful people thanks to the show, i build my own little community, and we're having fun, and i'll keep and cherish every minute of it. I may be mad that much of the show's potential was wasted due to some questionable choices certain people made (ahem looking at you angrily eda t*zcan and sh*wtv executives), i'm very grateful that i can return to the show anytime i want and experience emotions which, i'll be honest, none of the other shows (or media in general) gave me since.
and of course, this journey wouldn't be the same if it wasn't for my peeps @burningblake @rosehathawhey @thatsonehellofabird @theatricaldynamite — you rock and i'm so lucky to share it with you, you made it incredibly special ❤
and to all the people who started watching the show because of my edits, or consider watching it, and those who reblogged my aziz stuff even if it isn't your thing, and those who keep coming to the fandom – i am HONORED. When i started posting Aziz back in November '21, i couldn't even DREAM that it''ll become a thing for me to build a community around, or (can you imagine?) become my sort of a brand, not to mention that to think that people wil start watching it because of WHAT I DO. If we're honest, all i did was making gifs – YOU ALL made it work. made it A FANDOM. It's your reblogs, your messages, your tags. And i cannot thank you enough for that.
And to all my non-aziz followers — my sincerest apologies. believe me, i didn't mean to spam your dash like that, it's really out of my control, agdfgugfdu 🫠 this show rewired my brain chemistry forever and it cannot be undone. whatever the thing is you followed me for, and chose to stay despite my everyday madness — thank u so very much, and i hope you're enjoying it here ❤ As for me personally, i'm gonna continue sitting here quietly in my little corner and hope that someday, somehow, some way, the casts reunites, cause ngl. it will make me very, VERY happy. and bc a girl just gotta dream about somethin, ya know? (says the girl who literally spent an ENTIRE YEAR in denial and successfully continues being delusional still. well, we all have hobbies i guess 🤷🏻‍♀️)
As i said above, i'm not gonna stop. Because it brings me joy AND because well, show must go on (and also bc it's my only mission on this hellsite lmao), i am so very grateful for all your support (It is truly SO MUCH) and i am certain that we will do SO MANY wonderful things together ❤
peace ✌🏻✨

👀 if i may!
Rolling Stone: Now, you're also doing something new with writing the music for We Had To Look [Paramount's upcoming western starring Noah Ripley]. What's that been like?
Eliot: Well, [laughs] I was hopin' you'd ask that, actually because I'm truly havin' quite a lot of fun. It's been a unique process for me, y'know? This is the first time that I've written for film an it's the first time that I've written music for somebody that ain't myself an' getting the opportunity to try something new like that is part'a what drew me to it. I wasn't sure if I'd like it, to be honest. But really it's just a joy and I'm glad to have accepted the job.
I won't say that it hasn't been a challenge to find the voice of the movie in my own writin', but it's a challenge that I very much welcome. And gettin' to sit down with Noah [Ripley] has really helped me quite a bit, too, because that's someone who really knows how these movies work and just really knows his craft. We've been able to sit down an' he's just so kind to talk me through any questions I may have about his character or... or about- I mean there's a whole song that's just about him'n—like all my music—it's a love song, but he makes that so easy to write. This is all somethin that I'm discussin' with the director [Andy Hawks] as well, who's got a stunnin' mind and is just incredibly thoughtful and true, but Noah has really been my guidin' light here. He's been a writin' partner, in a sense, and I think that without him I don't know if my songs would be half as good. I feel really comfortable with him. I love him a lot. Truly, it's an honor gettin' to work with him and the whole crew of Had To Look. And just wait till you see him on that screen because they've been kind enough to allow me on set once or twice and he just blew me away. I don't think there's anything of his that I haven't loved... I think that maybe I got a little off topic at the end here, but yes, uhm- I think I answered your question somewhere in there? [laughs]
Rolling Stone: You did, and quite beautifully.
Eliot: Thank you, that's mighty kind.
Rolling Stone: You write a lot with other musicians and it sounds like you wrote a lot with Noah Ripley for this project, who isn't a musician. How is that different?
Eliot: It isn't, not really. He's inspirational, and he's fun to work with. Nothin' more that I need than him.
