Anthony: Oh, no, we’re not together. We’re not a couple. We’re definitely not a couple.
Simon: Wow, you seem pretty insulted by that. What, I’m not good enough for you?
Anthony: We are not having this conversation again.

Just Fucking Write - Day 75
Prompt: Apocalypse AU pt 10
A/N: Guess who’s not dead
Pain. That was the first thing Kai felt when he started to wake up. Everything hurt. He tried to move, but his limbs refused to cooperate. When he opened his eyes, he saw a familiar pair of brown eyes looking back at him.
“He’s awake!” Taehyun yelled, turning his attention somewhere else. “Chanhee! Yeonjun! Sangyeon! He’s awake!”
Kai tried to talk, but all he could manage was a grunt.
“Sorry, baby. I didn’t mean to hurt your ears,” Taehyun weaved their fingers together. Yeonjun, two men he didn’t recognize, and a woman were suddenly standing over him.
“I’ll be damned,” Yeonjun said. He looked at the smaller of the two men. “You sure know how to work magic with dental floss and sewing needles.”
“The antibiotics didn’t hurt either,” the man replied.
“Who?” Kai finally managed to cough out. His entire body seized from pain. Taehyun held him down across his shoulders.
“He needs actual medical treatment. No offense,” Taehyun looked up at the group surrounding them.
“None taken,” the smaller man said.
“I can arrange that,” the woman said.
“You? Why should we believe anything you say?” the larger man asked.
“Hasn’t everything I said checked out so far?” she sniped.
“Do it. Do what you have to do. Please,” Taehyun looked up at them. Yeonjun looked over at the others.
“She’s right. Everything she’s said has checked out. He can’t be moved though,” he said.
“Not a problem,” she said. Through the haze of the pain, Kai was getting the impression no one liked her. He also felt like he’d seen her before, but couldn’t remember when or where. She squatted down next to him. “You’re worth more alive than dead now, Heuning Kai. I underestimated you. We all did.”
