ooooooh just saw your take on Megatron with the fairies and now I'm super curious!
How did Drift get the fay to forgive him? You said in another post he kidnapped and drained multiple as Dreadlock or is this a case of 'the fairies don't know Drift is deadlock despite his curse horns that mark his past'
I am just *Buzzing* with tired brain hyperfocus excitement wanting to know. Your whole fairy idea has me in a death grip I swear.
The same way you get anyone's trust back, I suppose! Time, patience, respect for their space... Of course, a few offerings certainly helps to grease the wheels too.
They definitely recognize him, and believe me, they can hold some grudges. So it takes a lot of time and work for Drift to get back into their general good graces. It helps having Rodimus and Ratchet around too, because even though Rodimus can be grabby and Ratchet can be jumpy, the local fairies know that those two would never put the fae in any actual danger. Even then it takes a while before any of the fairies are comfortable getting near Drift, even if the others are there. So he plays it safe! He's polite, patient, never pursues them, and compliments their work tending the garden and the cleverness of their pranks on Rodimus and Swerve. Even if they are still a little wary of him, the ego-stroking definitely helps them warm up to him.
The first time they actually play a prank on him (something small, like switching the sugar in his tea for salt) he has the biggest grin on his face. Because if the fairies are willing to prank him, that means they're comfortable enough with his reactions to not be worried about the repercussions! And that's a huge step! Pranking Drift gets boring for them fast, though, because he just seems so happy they're doing it? So they start doing other things trying to get different kinds of reactions out of him, like filling his helmet with flowers or bringing him pretty rocks and snail shells. He's got a whole windowsill full of fairy gifts and Rodimus is only a little bit jealous.~
Drift - Blast Off rain test animation (2018) with colours (2023)
Blast Off design by Dou Hong https://douhong.blogspot.com/2011/11/ Many continuity issue. completed 90% of animation 5 yrs ago. I forgot design of some thing. storyboard action seems silly in hindsight. Pacing is rough. It has been five years since I drew this. A lot of shots were removed.
