The Alpha Flight in Marvel are a Canadian superhero team written by Americans, and you can tell immediately.

-first there’s Puck. A tiny little guy who headbutts people. That’s not a hockey pun, that’s just your average hockey fan. He’s not special.

-Then there’s the French twins which absolutely proves that no Canadian wrote these characters because no Quebecois in history would ever join an Anglican superhero team. They would absolutely start their own terrible team though, and tell the whole world they’re better than those English losers.

-The Frenchies are really nice. That’s wrong. You ever met a Quebecois? They’re rude.

-The Alpha Flight or whatever are led by the Canadian military. What military? Where’s his dumb RCMP uniform. We don’t recognize that guy. I legit didn’t know Canada had a military until we started learning about WW11 in school.

-Not one member of the team ever calls anybody a hoser.

-I’m not touching Shaman with a ten foot pole.

-You know who is an accurate rep of a Canadian superhero? Wolverine. Everyone from Montreal to Vancouver to Winnipeg knows some guy just like Wolverine in that surly backwoods flannel wearing way. But he’s from Alberta, you guys can’t have him.

-Deadpool is from Toronto

i love rereading hobie’s comics and seeing him go ham with that guitar like he could be launching it into space with a single throw just so it gets set on fire when it re-enters the atmosphere and stuns a v.e.n.o.m cop with the impact and the next page or two he has it in his hands again looking how it always does. like you are a magical girl at this point

This is the core of Jason’s character.

Again they try to hammer in that Jason is brash, arrogant, and reckless; that he jumps before thinking. However you can’t really attribute reckless behavior to arrogance or carelessness when he only ever becomes instinctive during very specific instances. The few times he’s “stepped out of line” or just threw himself into an unknown/dangerous situation it was always to protect someone from predators and sickos. Otherwise, keep in mind the number of times he’s been praised for his intelligence and judgment; for being meticulous, calm, and cooperative.

in retrospect it’s absolutely insane to make dinah the kids’ therapist in the yj cartoon. comics dinah would never. z would be like “my dad is basically dead and I’ll never see him again” and dinah would say “have you tried ruining someone else’s marriage to cope”

anyway I don’t think these people realize how gory being bludgeoned to near death is, and maybe it's because of the limitations of the medium that scene was presented in

Good Talia characterization and good Damian characterization can co-exist easily, they are not mutually exclusive whatsoever. Good Ra’s characterization along with good characterization for either Talia and Damian cannot coexist eight out of ten times, they are mostly mutually exclusive.
