Sometimes, Félix wondered where Antonio got his shyness and sweetness from; there wasn't a mean bone in that kid's body. Félix could admit he was a brat as a kid and a prankster as a teenager; he was still happily outgoing and loud. Pepa was a whirlwind of the best kind and she'd also been one stubborn and loud kid, a temperamental teenager and tended to be more pessimistic.

Camilo was a proud prankster and class clown. Dolores was quiet, but mischievous and sometimes downright sneaky.

Then there was Antonio: sweet and shy, he had a heart of gold.

Well, wherever he got it from, Félix was grateful. Having another kid so late had been exhausting enough for them all; at least Antonio had been an easy and happy baby.

Even now, he was generally an easy kid. Bless him, but he was easily pleased and impressed. When Félix asked what he wanted to do today, Antonio fetched a large book about animals; it wasn't a storybook, it was scientific. Antonio was only four, so Félix wasn't sure how much he'd understand, but Antonio quietly asked him to read it.

He was happy to oblige. Heck, maybe Félix would learn something new from the book too. Who knew? At any rate, Antonio's smile was enough to make Félix willing to read for hours and hours if need be.
