Camilo Madrigal, random headcanons

MASTERLIST

never makes his bed

if you’re his friend, he’ll come up with a nickname for you and never call you by name, unless he has a serious question to ask

“are you gonna finish that?” points at a plate of food

hates when people touch his hair because he always spends a lot of time on it

uses his gift to eavesdrop all the time

was definitely disappointed when he just got his gift and found out he couldn’t shapeshift into animals

would do anything for Dolores and Antonio

first person to cheer up Mirabel after her gift ceremony

there isn’t a type of food or drink that he doesn’t like

except bananas

claims that tía Julieta gives the best hugs

can’t read the room

tries to include Mirabel when he hangs out with his friends all the time

stays up late, sleeps in in the morning

talks to himself when he’s frustrated

never cleans his room

he owns only six books and they’re all about pirates

biggest mama’s boy

knows how to cook, because he got grounded at the age of twelve and had to stay at the Casita so Julieta asked him to help her in the kitchen

he’s not strong, he even struggles with picking up Antonio, but he is a fast runner

takes very good care of his ruana, his shirt and pants can have stains or be ripped, but if something happens to his ruana he freaks out

definitely taught Antonio a bad word by accident and got in trouble with Pepa because of that

has successfully pranked every member of his family except Isabela

he’s still trying, but she’s somehow always one step ahead

would cry if someone gave him flowers

despite being an extrovert, he really likes spending time alone

writes in cursive, but when he’s in a rush, his handwriting is illegible

sticks his tongue out when he’s focused on something and doesn’t realize he’s doing it

has three stuffed animals and sleeps with all of them all the time

when he’s too tired or deep in thought he shapeshifts into random people and doesn’t notice until someone points it out

steals Mirabel glasses, she thinks he’s just being annoying, but he just wants to spend some time with her

would throw a tantrum if his mom wouldn’t give him a piggyback ride when he was little

won’t admit it, but really admires Isabela and Luisa

skips the last step when walking down the stairs

will play with a ballon like it’s volley ball

always fails for the “did you know if your hand is bigger than your face you have cancer?” trick

he’s not the type of parent to break his kids up when they’re fighting, he stands on the side and watches because he finds their bickering amusing

has a very warm laugh

makes the bed very carefully, won’t let there be a single wrinkle on the sheets

when he sweeps, he dances with the broom

used to work as a shoeshiner in his teens

speaks with his mouth full

wasn’t nervous when meeting Alma for the first time, she actually became very fond of him very fast

gives the best hugs

whenever something exciting happens to Mirabel, tío Félix would be the first person she’d tell

these two are actually quite close as Mirabel would spend a lot of time with her dad and tío when she was younger, they were comforting her a lot after she didn’t get a gift

him and Isabela usually get into debates on various topics at dinners, when that happens the rest of the family just listens to them

she loves her daughters to the moon, but secretly wishes she had at least one son

for that reason, she became very close with her two nephews

she has only cried seven times in her life: every time she found out she was pregnant, every time Pepa found out she was pregnant and when Bruno left

every morning she takes some leftovers from breakfast and puts them in Agustín‘s pocket just in case

her love language is touch

she’s afraid of small animals, like mice, but loves big ones, like jaguars

when she and her siblings were little, they would experiment with Julieta’s gift like checking if using expired products for cooking would affect the food’s healing abilities

she’s very minimalistic and hates when there’s a mess

when she’s stressed or exhausted, Agustín plays on a piano for her for hours till she falls asleep, she loves it

cleans Mirabel’s glasses because her daughter forgets to do it herself

when Isabela’s sad, she brushes her hair very very tenderly, she also hums a song while doing so

the weather mixes when she gets drunk, she feels a lot of emotions at once so it can be hailing while there’s three rainbows above the house

“Camilo, stand straight,”

“Ay,” Camilo groaned, but did as told. “I’m standing straight.”

“Five years. For five years I’ve been telling you this,” Y/N said, putting up five fingers. He looked at her palm, nodding.

She didn’t know what to expect, but what he did next was not it. Camilo placed his own palm against hers and interlocked their fingers. Bringing their joined hands higher, he placed a tender kiss on the back of her palm. She bit the inside of her cheek at this action. If there was one thing to always expect from Camilo, it was him being unexpectedly cute.

“Dork,” she muttered, untangling her fingers from his grasp.

She placed her elbow back on her knee and rested her chin on her palm. Staring ahead, she tapped her fingers against her cheeks.

Camilo stood beside her, not feeling like joining his girlfriend on the stone wall. “You okay?”

“Yeah,” she responded, but her eyes remained on the setting sun. Like she wasn’t exactly listening. Camilo’s eyebrows scrunched. Turning his whole body towards her, he took a step forward. Now vis-a-vis and blocking the view, Y/N had to look up at him.

“Mi vida, you’re spacing out,” he deadpanned.

“I’m just taking in the view,”

“This isn’t the first time,”

Y/N straightened. Her hands fell down onto her lap, her torso was now perpendicular to the ground. That way, they could see eye to eye. But did they?

“I’m fine, Camilo,” she said.

“I hope so,” he sighed. “Because if you weren’t that would mean you’re not telling me something I should know.”

She tensed at the seriousness that overcame both his features and voice. This was the less common side of Camilo Madrigal. The one he reserved for scolding his loved ones for not taking care of themselves. Serious Camilo was someone she got to meet a lot these past few months, actually.

Instead of responding, she reached down and gently took his wrist. Sliding her hand into his own, she brought it up. She placed it on her lap. With a sigh and a nod, she started playing with his palm, his fingers. Caressing his smooth skin, delicately touching his rough from all the work fingertips. She couldn’t help but notice how quickly the tension left him and soon his hand went limp. Free for her to play with.

“You care a lot,” she said quietly. “But you don’t need to worry about me. I’m fine. I’m happy actually.”

By closing his fingers on her own, he stopped her little game. “You are?”

“Very.” she smiled.

“Mhm,” he hummed, stepping closer and moving to hold her other hand. “Why? What’s causing you to be so happy?”

A soft laugh escaped Y/N’s throat. “I know you know. You just want to hear me say it.”

“Maybe.” he let go of her hands. His own made their way to her waist. His fingers rubbed up and down her sides, dancing across her skin. “Come on, say it.”

“Dios, it’s you.” she rolled her eyes. “There. Ego boosted enough?”

He shook his head, before staring deep into her eyes and placing his forehead against hers. “I’m gonna need a name. Who did you say makes you happy?”

She pressed her lips tightly as a smile spread across her face. “Camilo.” she responded after having a mental debate with herself about whether she should or not.

“Oh? Who’s that? There are a lot of Camilo’s in this world. You’re gonna have to be more specific-“

“Madrigal, jeez. It’s Camilo Madrigal,” she laughed, cutting him off.

“Camilo Madrigal? What about him?” he kissed her cheek.

“You’re insufferable, I can’t believe you,”

“That sounds like a you problem.” he kissed her other cheek. “What about him?” he repeated his question.

“Camilo Madrigal makes me happy,” she gave in.

He pulled away unconvinced. Raising his brow and pursing his lips, he stared at her. Y/N groaned.

“Camilo Madrigal makes me very happy, the happiest actually,”

“And?”

“And I love him very much,” she said, wrapping her arms around his neck. She pulled him back to her. “I love him more than anything.”

“That’s my girl,” he whispered before kissing her deeply.

she moves so quietly, her brothers joke she should wear a bell to not startle anyone

she has Camilo’s old stuffed toys under her bed because when he was little he would stay in his sister’s room for the night sometimes, he always came for comfort to her when he had a nightmare

when she passes Antonio on her way to do chores, she pats his head affectionately

when she passes Camilo though, he gets a shove

she loves her brothers equally, just shows it in different ways

she wants to cut her hair short, like Mirabel’s

she grows random plants in her sleep, when it’s a bad dream it’s usually poison ivy

he doesn’t know how to swim, but he is a fast runner

Alma didn’t approve of him first, she’s still a little skeptical

out of all his nephews, he’s closest to Antonio

he’s afraid of Pepa

he loves his daughters equally, but he spends most of the time with Luisa

she’s also the one to save him from most of his accidents

there’s a lot of small talk when he’s left alone with Bruno

Félix was his friend before they both joined the Madrigal family

he doesn’t wear matching socks on purpose

he taught Mirabel the basics of embroidery, now she’s surpassed him

he’s the second to take the most time in the bathroom, first being Camilo

he has to drag Julieta out of the kitchen sometimes so she doesn’t overwork herself, he makes tea for her afterwards, sometimes even reads for her

when they were smaller, Isabela, Luisa and Mirabel would all gather in the nursery and Agustín would tell them bedtime stories

Isabela gives him flowers randomly, he puts them in his front pocket

when Dolores is done with her chores, she likes to find her tío Agustín and go on a stroll with him

he tried to propose to Julieta at least five times, but it always backfired

eventually she was the one to propose

when he found out he was going to be a father, he was freaking out for a whole month afterwards

he would wrap her up in many blankets to keep her warm and comfortable to the point where she would look like a ball of laundry

Antonio Madrigal, random headcanons

we already know he’s really close with Mirabel, but after the fall of Casita and everything else that happened, he became super close with Isabela (don’t ask me why, I just have this feeling they’d get along quite well) and Bruno too

his jaguar Parce snuggles with the plushie Mirabel made for Antonio

he really admires his siblings, especially Camilo

his favorite color is green and blue despite being a part of the warm colored side of the family

when he hit puberty, he was taller than his brother

Camilo was really mad about that

he danced with Dolores at her wedding, he was standing on her feet as she swayed from side to side

he loves when Pepa sits him on her shoulders, he feels so tall then

he always sits next to his sister at meals

his animals like Luisa best out of everyone in the family

Antonio didn’t have a lot of friends when he was little, but after he got his gift he started to invite other kids to play in his room

his favorite food are fruits, especially apples

he still hides under Mirabel’s bed when he’s sad, even after getting his own room

the animals sang Happy Birthday to him on his birthday, of course only he knew that

the cake he got was twice as tall as he is

Mirabel made him another matching plushie to the one she gave him on his last birthday

out of all uncles and aunts, I feel like he’s closest to tío Agustín

he told the bees to leave him alone

also told the other animals to stop stealing his stuff

everyone loves hugging him, it’s so comforting

his mom likes relaxing in his room, laying in the hammocks etc.

there’s not a single person in Encanto that doesn’t adore Antonio
