Favourite thing about them: the fact that jiang cheng isn't a genius like wwx. he works hard and he fails and he's still so fucking amazing. he's sandu shengshou, he's sect leader jiang, he's zidian's wielder, he's fucking amazing. jiang cheng goes from this:
the most laughable one was the Yunmeng Jiang Sect, the people of which either had been killed or had scattered, leaving only Jiang Cheng, who was younger than even Lan XiChen and was still a child born yesterday, who had nobody in his hands but still dared call himself sect leader, holding up the banner of rebellion as he recruited new disciples.

My ship headcanons and how I view them
Anyone who sees my feed knows that I reblog a lot of jaune shipposts. That said, not every one of them are ones I actually see working out romantically and I mostly do it because the prompts/drabbles made me laugh or were well-written more than anything.....
.....in short, just because I don't ship something doesn't mean I can't appreciate good work when I see it.
That said, here's how I actually view the relationship between the main characters.
Lancaster: Split between BroTP and/or OTP; Jaune and Ruby are, simply put, two sides of the same coin and their interactions pretty much cement that fact. Currently waiting for Volume 10 to see how their bond further develops and how their underlying tension resolves. If I judge BroTP, then I go with Rosegarden, since my Gold Medal OTP for Ruby is currently impossible (Why? Why did they have to take Penny? T_T)
Dragonslayer: BroTP, Full Stop. People often overlook the fact that, as we see more of and learn more about Jaune and Yang, the more we realize these two dorks are both birds of a feather. Their chemistry is immense and undeniable, and while Yang would admit that Jaune has gotten hot; and Jaune would admit that Yang is gorgeous, there is no romantic tension between them. For Yang, she already knows Jaune as the dorky yet very kindhearted male bestie of her little sister. In Jaune's part, Yang reminds him of Saphron far too much for him to think of her as anything but a friend and sister.
Knightshade: BroTP, as well. These two's friendship is much more subdued but no less strong; they often bond over their shared hobbies, such as a love for books and they often get together to read while maintaining a comfortable silence between them. Would not be surprised if these two ended up founding a Book Club.
Whiteknight: Silver Medal OTP. Volume 5 and onwards has convinced me of the viability of this pairing, due the subtle yet telling looks and touches shared by them in the background.
Arkos: ARKOS MY BELOVED!!!! THE OTP for me. Just, everything about this.
Nora's Arc: BroTP. Nora is firmly Rensexual. To Nora, Jaune is her Fearless Leader and the best Big Brother she could have ever asked for. To Jaune, Nora is the hyperactive and boisterous little sister who can be quite a headache yet he can't help but want to do anything for in order for her not to lose her smile.
Martial Arcs: BroTP. Ren is Norasexual, and Jaune is shown to be firmly heterosexual. They consider each other brothers from different mothers.

Character ask: Mr. and Mrs. Bennet (Pride and Prejudice)
Favorite thing about them: They're both funny characters in their different ways: Mr. Bennet intentionally, Mrs. Bennet unintentionally.
Least favorite thing about them: Well, they're both basically terrible parents to their daughters and terrible spouses to each other. Mrs. Bennet's own foolish behavior makes all the troubles she worries about much worse, while Mr. Bennet's habit of doing nothing except mocking it all is both unkind and irresponsible.
On a meta level, I do sometimes wonder if Austen's portrayal of Mrs. Bennet shows classism (since her socially ignorant behavior stems at least in part from her lower-class background – although her brother Mr. Gardiner doesn't share her faults), and/or internalized misogyny (while Mr. Bennet's flaws are made clear, we never quite lose the sense that Mrs. Bennet is meant to be seen as worse). I understand why so many readers think her portrayal is unfair and mean-spirited, though I'm not sure if I agree.
Three things I have in common with them:
Mrs. Bennet:
*I can be neurotic.
*I can be over-enthusiastic.
*I sometimes make social faux pas.
Mr. Bennet:
*I prefer reading to socializing.
*I can be irresponsible, especially with money.
*I like Elizabeth Bennet.
Three things I don't have in common with them:
Mrs. Bennet:
*I'm not a middle-aged British woman.
*I'm not married and don't have children.
*If I had daughters, even if I lived in Georgian England, I would rather they stay single than be married to the likes of Mr. Collins or Wickham.
Mr. Bennet:
*I'm not a middle-aged British man.
*I'm less witty than he is.
*If I had children, I would remember my duties to them.
Favorite line:
Mr. Bennet:

OTP: Each other, if only because that's what they deserve. Ideally, though, other people whom they never met.
nOTP: Any of their daughters or their daughters' husbands.
Random headcanon: Mrs. Bennet's first name is Jane. Just because the 1995 miniseries calls her "Fanny" doesn't make that name canon, and in the 18th and 19th centuries, it was common for one daughter in a family, usually the eldest, to be named after her mother.
Unpopular opinion: We don't need to choose whether to side with Mr. Bennet or Mrs. Bennet. This isn't a case of "one is right, the other is wrong" or "one is the good parent, the other is the bad parent." They both have sympathetic qualities, yet they both have glaring faults that nearly ruin their daughters' futures too. The old-school viewpoint of "Mr. Bennet is the likable, sensible parent; Mrs. Bennet is an idiot" and the more recently popular viewpoint of "Mrs. Bennet is just trying to secure her daughters' futures; Mr. Bennet is the bad parent" are both faulty and reductive.

Angeal for the ask game :D
ANGEAL HEWLEY
🎟️ SEXUALITY HEADCANON: Heteroflexible and biromantic. He prefers women, physically speaking, but could have an intimate relationship with a man. One man in particular.
⚧️ GENDER HEADCANON: Angeal is hard to get a read on, for me, since he's another of those characters who exists in a position that he seems to believe requires a hypermasculine presentation. I read him as cis, but I can see just about anything for him.
💕 A SHIP: Unrequited Angeal/Sephiroth is really the only ship I have for Angeal—I genuinely believe he's utterly in love with Sephiroth, and he never ever said a word about it to anyone.
🖇️ A BROTP: Angeal+Lazard is probably my biggest one, only because the mental image of both of them trying desperately to keep Genesis and Seph in line is so clear in my head it might as well be made of crystal.
🚫 A NOTP: Don't garotte me for this, but honestly Gengeal? I don't like the way he talks to or about Genesis; I've heard people say that they're like a divorced couple, but if anything they read to me as siblings desperate to get out of each other's orbit and utterly unable to escape their shared history no matter how they try. (Given that they seem to both have Gillian's mtDNA based on explanations in-canon, and we know that they can be considered siblings based on Weiss using his connection to Genesis as proof that he's also Angeal's brother in DFFOO, I feel like that's a fairly accurate read.)
💭 A RANDOM HEADCANON: Angeal didn't actually join SOLDIER at the same time as Genesis, and not only because he didn't particularly want to—Angeal is over a year younger than Genesis, and was just too young to enlist when Genny left Banora. It was almost a year before Angeal was able to follow him to Midgar, by which point Genesis had already formed a fairly solid relationship with Sephiroth, and Angeal was more than a little put-out by the idea that his position as Genesis' only friend had been taken by this weird kid with weird hair and weird eyes that Genesis kept clipping photos of from the newspaper. When he got to know Seph, though, he changed his tune pretty dramatically—and fell for him almost as hard as Genesis. This is one of the reasons that he inserts himself between them at every opportunity, not only because he doesn't think they're good for each other, but because he doesn't think that anyone is good enough for Sephiroth, not even himself. And if he isn't good enough to be Sephiroth's one and only, then Genesis (impulsive, arrogant, troublemaker Genesis, who spent days exploring a monster-infested cave system as a boy without a thought of the danger he courted in doing so, who already had everything he ever needed or wanted and still leveraged his obsession over a hero he hadn't met into an invention that garnered recognition in a way that Angeal never could) definitely wasn't. This is how the whole relationship fell apart.
🗣️GENERAL OPINION: I've said it before, and I'll say it again: the saddest thing about Angeal is that he's the only one who couldn't bear to live with himself. I'm not a huge fan of the character as a person, but he's fantastically executed as a character. His story is legitimately one of the most heartbreaking in the series—He had a whole host of people who loved him so deeply as to be fathomless, and it didn't matter. His story is a tragedy not because of how he was made or how he died, but because of why things turned out the way they did. So much of the suffering he went through was self-imposed, and that's the saddest part of all.

A ship I have with said character: Tseng/Reeve, one sided Reeve/Vincent because Reeve is down bad for Vincent unfortunately Vincent is very much in love with Reilena ( @vinjaryou 's oc) and oblivious to any advanced Reeve might make towards him and thanks to @case-of-traxits Reeve/Genesis
A BROTP I have with said character: Reeve and Cid, as well as Vincent, though with Vincent it's a little different. Of course Reeve and Aerith too, since he was the one to give Elmyra the news of her death in the OG. He has a particular soft spot for Aerith, who is alive in almost every au I have.
A NOTP I have with said character: Hmmm can't really think of one? Not many hard NOTPS for Reeve here
A random headcanon: Reeve and Scarlett were married. They met in the Shinra Engineering program and Scarlett fell absolutely in love with Reeve who was still struggling with his own sexuality. Sometime during their marriage Reeve came to terms with being gay. He would have been fine with staying married to Scarlett had her personality not become so warped and sadistic, he served papers on her just before OG and their divorce was rather nasty.
General Opinion over said character: I love Reeve! One of the most interesting characters in the series and also a stone cold zaddy

A ship I have with said character: So I don't have many ships with Yuna and most are cross overs so I would have to say my otp for Yuna would be Yuna/Cloud and I have a massive WIP multichaper for this ship as it is one of my favorites. There's also a certain crackship that @roxxie-kun and I have that spawned from an old unfinished fic on AO3....
A BROTP I have with said character: Yuna and Lulu and Yuna and Rikku. Yuna's bond with Lulu is more older and younger sister like and I absolutely love it. My actual older sister was pregnant during my last replay of X-2 and we have a similar close bond which made that playthrough exceptionally special for me. Rikku and Yuna too because I love how Rikku's knack for getting her cousin into trouble as well as how distressed she was about losing her should she defeat Sin.
A NOTP I have with said character: Yuna/Brother, miss me with that shit
A random headcanon: I have way too many so I'll give you two. Yuna is an excellent markswoman even without the gunner dress sphere. whenever she is stressed out she goes off by herself and sets up targets for shooting practice. The other is that she was Leblanc 's maid of honor at her wedding to Nooj
General Opinion over said character: Yuna is tied with Yuffie and Sephiroth for my favorite FF character. I cannot tell you how much she means to me or how much inspiration she's given me. Her character arc is unimaginably important in my life. FFX is also my favorite game ever and in my opinion the Pinnacle of gaming. I love her so much.

A random headcanon: she says she doesn't like Obi-Wan's beard because it hides too much of his handsome face, but she's thankful for it when Korkie starts growing his own facial hair out because now he really looks like his pops and she realises just how much scrutiny she's managed to avoid r.e. Korkie's parentage just by virtue of Obi-Wan having a fantastic beard
General opinion over said character: Funnily enough, I didn't actually like her when she was introduced in S2 of The Clone Wars, but then the way her entire demeanour softened when it was just her and Obi-Wan made my heart melt, and that was it - I was hooked just like Obi. Now, she's one of my favourites to be introduced in TCW and I am eternally mad that I didn't watch it sooner, as in back when my brother would nag me to watch it with him when we got home from school. She deserves so much better than to be forgotten, and I'm with James Arnold Taylor on this - tell us their full story, Filoni!!
MARA JADE:
I'm going to preface this with the fact that I didn't actually know anything about Mara until I read a fanfic that mentioned her - her name seemed too specific to me for her to be an OC, so I hopped on over to Wookiepedia and read up on her.
Sexuality headcanon: Bi-curious, possibly asexual
Gender headcanon: Non-binary - most of the time identifies as she/her, but sometimes goes by they/them pronouns
A ship I have with said character: Luke/Mara Jade, though I don't see them ever getting married
A BROTP I have with said character: From what I've read about her, I think Mara would get on quite well with Hondo 🤔
A NOTP I have with said character: leaving this one blank, I got nothing
A random headcanon: I feel like she probably sleeps with a knife under her pillow?
General opinion over said character: Like I mentioned above, I don't know much about Mara, I've never read any of the media that she's in (not because I don't interact with Legends content, just that I've only recently gotten back into Star Wars as a whole), but she seems like an interesting character, and after reading about her I started wondering if the concept of the Inquisitors that I first experienced in Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order came from Mara and her role as an Emperor's Hand

I was reading some Elucien scenes (as one does ofc) and I have the genuine belief that Rhys is 100% Elucien Stan... Well maybe I'm a little exaggerating lmao but for real he's so on Lucien team and it shows.
And I feel like is mostly bc he's been in Lucien's place (sort of) and knows how it feels to not have your mate by your side and being completely oblivious (or in Elain's case acting oblivious) about the bond and try to pursue someone else. And one of the reasons he stopped Azriel was this very reason, he didn't want another Feyre/Tamlin situation happen to Lucien.
I know that he brought some valid points about his court safety and wanting to avoid them but those feels like they're just there to stop Azriel and pulling rank was to make him see some sense and get him out of the fog of lust and stupidity as he said it in his pov that make him stop on his track bc Rhys never does that.
Bc if you think about it Rhys wants his family to get to their HEA like he did. He cares about them sm. I mean wouldn't he find a way to help Elain and Azriel to be together bc he knows they would be happy and in love?
But no he knows Az feeling on the matter and he knows him better than anyone else and dare I say better than Az himself? lol
Back to Lucien's case, even tho he has some problems with him for valid reasons he would never wants for anyone to be in this position not unless Elain objects on the matter. And that's the point Elain hasn't rejected nor says anything about accepting it. She only said that she doesn't want a male therefore Azriel is also on the things she doesn't want lmao.
So it seems even Elain is confused and lost as Azriel so ofc they subconsciously seek each other. Bc let's be real if they were in the right head space they wouldn't go as far to kiss while Lucien is in the same house, they wouldn't even chose each other. And let's not forget Azriel is obsessed with mating bond and I wonder if he ever thought about what he would do if he ends up with Elain AND find his mate as well (I mean he thought about Cauldron being wrong to believing he won't get a mate... like dude you clearly have some serious problem😭)
Yeah so we have Rhys as Elucien leader and Nesta as Gwynriel leader and that would result in Rhys and Nesta brotp and that's what I live for haha :D
You bring up such good points.
Rhys has often gone about things in the wrong way but outside of that, all he really wants is his loved wants to be happy. He is often willing to sacrifice himself for their happiness. He was willing to sacrifice his own happiness if it meant Feyre could be happy.
In ACOWAR, Rhys had no real reason to care for Lucien or consider him an ally as he did in SF yet he still spoke to Lucien's loyalty when Feyre asked if he thought he and Elain matched.
Even in ACOFAS, we see that Lucien is still not Rhys's favorite person ever so why in SF would he put Lucien's own happiness above Azriel's, his own brother if he knew Elain was what made him happy?
If Rhys was going to allow Feyre to be with Tamlin who wasn't her mate then there's no reason to think he would stand in the way of Elain and Az being together if that's what made them happy UNLESS he knew deep down that they really didn't want one another.
I think it is a first love kind of mentality that believes "no one can understand the kind of love we share" and "they just don't get us" where the older you get, you start to realize that our friends and family (the friends and family we love, not the toxic kind) actually can see when someone isn't right for us.
Rhys probably went a bit overboard in his reaction but it doesn't change that it's clear to him that his brother was not thinking rationally and he was about to do something for all the wrong reasons.
Some readers want to yell and cry about how mean Rhys was but I think what they're forgetting is that Rhys has been Az's brother for over 500 years and if he is coming down with an iron fist, having to pull rank which he RARELY does (Az's own words), it's more than likely there's a good reason for his behavior rather than going the route of thinking he's wrongly standing in the way of two lovers who want to be together.

1 - Which OTPs I just don't in my fandoms? You know, this is actually a good question. There are ships that I don't like romantically, but still respect and understand why the shippers love them. If there are anything, certainly incest and problematic ships, but that is of course normal.
Funny story though, there is a Fairy Tail ship that I didn't get at first, but I came to like under certain circumstances, which only works with them. Jellal x Ultear from Fairy Tail, during their time at the Magic Council. And you know who made me ship it? One of the biggest Jellal x Erza shippers I know! Ironic, isn't it? And only during the council times, during the Crime Sorcière times they are a Brotp for both of us.
What interested the Jerza shipper about Jeltear was "what if they have some kind of affair during their time at the Magic Council?". She found that they have that kind of vibe and I have to say, why not? Not only has she wrote interesting stories about them during that time, but it somehow also adds to Jellals guilt to start anything with Erza, because his only relationship he ever had was an affair during his "villain time", during which he and Ultear thought that they controlled the other. We know how it went truly, but still. It makes good stories if you like drama and if you want to try writing a problematic relationship.
I understand that it's not everyone's cup of tea, but if anyone is interested about more details why my Jerza shipper friend and myself are liking Jeltear, feel free to ask^^
6 - What fandom made me enjoy a pairing I previously hated? Not hated at first, but in Black Clover it was Asta x Mimosa. I found her crush cute and how she took inspiration from Asta, but I was neutral towards the ship at first. But then the haters came, Mimosta haters and Mimosa haters, and just to understand why, I got interested in the ship and then I was... excuse me? There is nothing wrong with this ship (and with Mimosa in general), so the haters are one of the reasons why I started to like this ship. I prefer Astelle of course, but Mimosta is a cute ship too. And to be fair, never forget that there are many characters in Black Clover who would get angry at any kind of Mimosa bashing.
9 - Most disliked characters? Dante, Vanica, Zagred, Lucius for sure. Oh, I LOVE to hate them and I love them as villains, but I would never love them for their personalities and actions, that is for sure. Also, king Augustus, obviously. When I write him, I always have the feeling that if I want to punch him while writing, I got his character perfectly. There are many villains, that I love as villains but hate as the people they are. So any villain for the sake of being evil, probably. Like Shiro in Assassination Classroom or some villains in Fairy Tail, like Brain for example.
I'm otherwise very open about characters and I love most in any fandom I am, but of course I have some characters I don't like.
20 - Purest ship in any fandom? I don't know what is meant with purest, so I go with the ships that are the most innocent for me, I guess. Astelle, Mimosta, Mars x Fana, FinFin and Luminero in Black Clover, Chendy and Loke x Aries in Fairy Tail, Deku x Uraraka, Kamijirou, Kirimina and my a lot of ships in Assassination Classroom, like Meg x Isogai or the Chiba x Hayami. Oooo you bring to the table a tantalizingly interesting prospect. I do have waaaaaay too many thoughts, and many of them are admittedly steeped in my own AU because I accidentally sold my soul to it (as authors do) so by all means, do not feel encumbered by my thoughts/ideas. Treat them as a buffet to pick and choose and take inspo from, because unfortunately you just gave me license to ramble :D
(and this is going to be rambley; too tired to make this cohesive beyond bullet points)

—Laxus and Erik brotp is so real to me, fam. It's the "hey we got a lacrima bestowed upon us, whoo" bonding, for one, but beyond that, the sort of....quiet mutual understanding of what it is like to have a "father" figure who is just treating them like a weapon, making them *stronger*, with a faux sort of affection. Beyond the trauma, though, they are both deadpan assholes and I love that for them. If Erik (and this is the htryds coloring) spends a good deal of time having the braincell, then with Laxus he can channel the little-shit-little-brother energy and bully him a bit, and Laxus can be grouchy back and know that Erik can parse through the emotions and figure out what's genuine or not without him figuring out how to put in the effort.
—Also, depending on the setting, they both have the tendency to pull the ~too good for you~ bad boy vibes as a defense mechanism, which makes it utterly unusable on each other, which is fun. Mostly, though, Laxus and Erik have the ability to enjoy a mutual quietness, so to speak; not trying to prove anything, but just leaning back and being normal young adults (with a little salt on the side) and doing whatever. That said, Erik is a bit too much of a dark mirror of how things could have been worse for Laxus, if Ivan was more involved, and this leads to Laxus winning the "big brother instinct" award of the two, which is an experience Erik is not used to but....does not necessarily hate.
—This is a fun headcanon that I haven't had the chance to incorporate into my series yet, but they have fun little music debates. Laxus got Erik into the magic of using music to calm the overstimulation, but they have wildly different tastes. Laxus loves rock and roll and metal, and Erik turned to liking types of bluegrass and straight up classical music. They meet in the middle at alt-rock. They are both always trying to win each other over on certain songs or genres. It works surprisingly often but it's part of the fun to swear undying rivalry to the other's favorite.
—For more Cobra-specific vibes (aka the canon edgemaster), I can see them being a bit more competitive with each other. Which quickly doesn't work when they have completely different specialties, but an effort is made.
—Also something I haven't had the chance to capitalize on outside of the scenarios in my head, but Bickslow and Erik definitely have a fun "we perceive you but we don't care" vibe that I love. Your secrets are obvious but not their business. Sometimes they people watch together for the fun of it, because all of the thoughts they *do* have regarding the things they know have got to go somewhere.
—Evergreen, being the queen of gossip, really really wants in on this. They tease her for it though, and purposely dangle that tea on a string. (Though sometimes Ever *does* get in on it, mostly when it comes to roasting anyone who was particularly rude or annoying, or the silly speculation at the expense of friends, like figuring out what job Nab will eventually go on or what animal Bisca will adopt next.)
—On this same note, Bickslow and Evergreen both have insufferable little sibling energy amongst the Thunder Legion squad, nevermind that Bickslow is the second oldest. Mostly it's just really fun to tease the more serious ones.
—Though Ever and Bickslow are also the most keenly aware of what it is like to be feared. Truly feared. Having eye magic that isn't quite controllable (as a kid, especially) will grant that experience. It is their unspoken agreement never ever to speak of this, of course.
—On an individual note, it is worth it now to bring up that I am an avid fan (read: it's canon to me and sometimes I forget it's not real canon) of the theory that Bickslow was one of the kids experimented on by the Bureau of Magical Development. He's got that unhinged flavor that comes from straight-up trauma, and it does add more context to his otherwise creepy magic. I also hc that the babies are all deceased test subjects, and that is why they have stuck with him all this time. (I am very passionate about the babies as characters, unfortunately, and my little mini series I'm doing for them on tumblr is proof. I am soooo normal.)
—Another theory I love, and that I have somewhat brandished into my own spin, is that Freed is half demon. He sees this as an awful thing, raised by his human parent (mother, in my case), without any real context for demon culture other than the fear of it, so that's why he's super edgy and has locked all of his demon traits away into a single form he swear never to uses unless things are ~Dire~ or whatnot. It's really not that bad though lol.
—The fact that Erik will Know Freed's secrets bother him immensely. Freed is, unfortunately, *just* a smidge too dense to realize that Bickslow has also known all along, just because Bickslow is strangely very good at keeping things to himself, whereas Erik's magic is more obvious. In my au, Laxus knows too, and is literally just waiting for Freed to admit it, because it's not that big of a deal, really.
—Laxus is also the only one who (at first) knows about Bickslow's past, among the team. Mostly because of some variant of Laxus having seen/met him when it was all raw. Depending on the au flavor, this either is what gives the chaotic dude and the stoic dude a sort of mutual respect (closer to canon) or makes them the og best friends (htryds style). In the latter case, they are each other's impulse control and/or voice of reason, which is probably unfortunate because they're not great at it. This is why Bickslow has doodled drawings on half of Laxus's furniture and why Laxus gets away with avoiding his problems a little longer than he should.
—Freed is simultaneously the most responsible and the most edgy and ergo reckless of the crew. Everyone agrees he's got to value his safety just a little bit more. He's also the only one who consistently remembers the schedule/to-do-list.
—Erik shares the "living itinerary, doesn't have executive disfunction problems" braincell with Freed, and in the right conditions, they work very well together. Bonding over the experience of herding cats, that is their teammates.
—Not a headcanon but I want to whack all of them with sticks. The Sad Boi Stick, the Whump Stick... All flavors. Getting the ones who never fess up to their trauma a good thwack makes the trauma spill out, and I enjoy the possibilities that entails. Put them in Situations. >:D
—I do also appreciate them being silly-goofy, too, of course. No need to be angry all of the time, in some of their cases. (They all need affection so bad. The hurt/comfort allure of it all. Just sit down and admit they need it, etc etc.) Something that is conveniently done after a good physical and emotional thwacking— *gets dragged away forcefully*

DESOLAS: (DEEP BREATH) he and Pallin served together at some point before the latter was injured and made the move to c-sec. Yes, he sometimes gets shitty messages telling him what his brother's been up to on the Citadel, no it's not sometimes the funniest fucking thing ever, no, no way, why say that? Venny is the 10/10 perfect grumpy friend to tease and get drinks with when they're in the same place at the same time.
SAREN: look we made it this far, you know what was coming - Avitus. No, he didn't go out expecting to end up with a friend when he started student shopping but, alas, this dumb varren is cling as fuck and won't leave him alone. Aaaand after a while, he's forced to realise that they are, in fact, friends. Goddamnit why this one? (It's because he's a great friend to have, loyal and great at balancing being amusingly annoying without being stressful to spend time with.)
A NOTP I have with said character:
DESOLAS: honestly, I haven't seen any ships for him that I don't like, whether that's just because I'm immensely lucky to have missed it or because people with bad opinions haven't touched him, I'm not sure, but there we have it lmao

A random headcanon: (going with no-reapers crustyverse here)
DESOLAS: A month before the birth of his daughter, he hands in his resignation and leaves, middle fingers raised, to be a very comfortable stay-at-home-dad. (Nearly) everyone says he'll be bored within the year, he laughs in their faces and loves every second of raising his (feral) child. Really, given how he most-of-the-way raised saren, everyone should have seen that coming. Just because he's older doesn't mean he's any saner.
SAREN: This bitch has an unhealthy addiction to being squished into not being able to think or breathe. Multiple weighted blankets, thick duvets and, in the later years, Nihlus. The more crushed he is, the more comfortable he is actually.
General Opinion over said character:

Favorite thing about them: he is so ditzy, but it is not like other ditzy characters you see in shows. I can’t explain it but it’s like, his tone and line delivery make it actually cute and fun to watch. He is just like, the sweet happy boy that you would never want to crush their dreams. I just love him!
Least favorite thing about them: that he wasn’t in s3 (an actual crime). But on an actual character level, I think that he tends to let Carlos walk over him a little bit. I know he struggles speaking up for himself, but I do wish he would tell Carlos how he feels a bit more because a lot of their relationship fights seem to be very passive aggressive.

Random Headcanon: (if this was ever confirmed ignore me but) I think Seb has a huge family. Like 12 brothers and sisters massive. That’s why he doesn’t have a lot of money and seems busy all the time is because he has to help on the farm and with his infinite spawn of siblings.
Unpopular Opinion: I alluded to this before but I really don’t want Seblos to break up. It was an injustice Seb wasn’t in s3 hardly at all and that he didn’t get many singing parts. I could listen to Joe sing all day, but if they’re broken up we lose Seb screen time. I also like them as a couple. Their off screen chemistry reflects on screen. They’re just cute!!!
Song I associate with them: “When I Look at You” by Miley Cyrus. I think this is genuinely because of him singing “The Climb”, but it’s the honest answer 😂 when I listen to it I think of Seb hahahaha

Warning: Long post, contains slight spoilers.
I am so very sorry for long this stayed in the box- but thanks a lot for the ask!
Favorite thing about them: Why must you make me choose. I can't. I can't do that. There's genuinely too many things to choose from.
...fine, I can do honorable mentions. One thing that piqued my interest in the tomato son all those years ago was how layered his persona can be... if you squint. Or if you're like me and relate to him on a spiritual level. You see, at the surface of his character, Yuuya's your average protag boy: fun-loving, good-natured and full of innocent hopes and dreams-
Except, that's not all there is to it. Not even at the very start of the story. We see from the get-go how he struggles with the weight of past events and his own doubts and insecurities -which only gets more and more prominent as the show goes on- all while holding onto his smiles in defiance against adversity, and trying to help others do the same as well. Personally, I still think that this is a deceptively simple yet very powerful message.
Least favorite thing about them: Ah, that's a question I can't quite answer. You see, there isn't anything specific I dislike about him, as much as there's stuff I dislike that happen to him- as in, to his character. Like the last stretch of the Xyz and Fusion arcs. Those parts did irreversible damage Yuuya's portrayal- so much so that even I, known for being more forgiving of the story's flaws than most, was shaking my head in denial through the first, second, and third watch. Lord help me when I reach them in the fourth.
Favorite line: Quoting myself from the Yuugo version of this post: would it be cheating the question if I said there's too many to count? Because it's still true. I know for a fact that I'll mention a line here and then find another one I prefer not a day later- that's how it is with the faves, I suppose. For the sake of not leaving this empty, though, here's one quote that stuck with me longer than most:
"The dueling I've had up until now isn't something I made alone. Because everyone was there, I was able to make it this far!"
brOTP: Yuugo!
...Saw that coming? Yes? No? Look, Yuuya's the protagonist so he naturally has a lot of interesting friendships, some established, some made over the course of the show... and a few entirely hypothetical, like this one. What can I say? I just think they'd go great together. Picture this: two idiots with half a braincell between them, who meet each other proper and instantly click. And get on like a house on fire from there. Seriously, they're so different yet similar in so many ways, and I think that'd lend itself to a great mutual underdtanding between the two- almost as if they have some kind of telepathetic link (hmmm). Putting them in one room for extended periods of time will either result in the most fun sort of chaos or in talks so deep they both end up bawling their eyes out in each other's arms.
They're friends. Besties. Brothers even.
OTP: Look, I'm a bonafide vanilla when it comes to romantic ships. Fruitshipping is my first and main OTP in all media of interest, and the threatre kiddos get a badge of honor for being one of a scant few pairs that got me extremely close to crying on more than 1 occasion. That's more than can be said for... *checks notes* ...99.8% of the characters I know!
nOTP: Hmm... there's none that come to mind, honestly. I don't mind seeing Yuuya paired with anyone, as long as the ship is not inherently inappropriate and/or isn't portrayed in any weird ways.
Random headcanon: Thanks to certain happenings towards the end of the plot, Yuuya ends up developing the unconscious habit of hoarding things precious to him. He'll go to sleep curled up in the middle of a nest of blankets and pillows, surrounded by all his favorite plushies, random trinkets and gifts from friends, and of course, his pendulum and card partners (thank god in-universe cards are stupidly sturdy). The first time Youko chances upon him in this state, deep in the peaceful bliss of slumber, she stealthily snaps a photo and- huh? No, you didn't hear a thing. "Cuteness overload can be heard from over a mile away?" Pfft, nonsense.
Unpopular opinion: No idea how unpopular this may be, but... I don't get the claims that Yuuya's not a good duelist?
Several people point out that he relies on Action cards to stall out a duel until he can turn it around, and conclude that as such, he's less skillful than most of his opponents. That take confuses me more than anything; after all, isn't it in the nature of the Action duel rule that one must make use of the card scattered around them? They're not just there for show, nor are they solely used for their effects. And besides, it's clear that Yuuya's particular brand of entertainment dueling places heavy emphasis on the dynamic aspect, which is why he's always running around the field and trying to make a spectacle out of every move. That doesn't diminish his skill in any way I can see- he's just more inclined to using resources outside those in his deck, thanks in part to needing more combo pieces than survivability cards by virtue of using Pendulums.
Song I associate with them: Assuming any song qualifies, I'd say it's Future Fighter; because it's literally Yuuya's (and Reiji's) very own personal song. It highlights core aspects of their personalities through the lyrics- and what do you know, our boy has a very nice singing voice too! It was one among many highlights from the back half of ARC-V S1 to me.
Favorite picture of them: Look, I just want to see him happy. I think he deserves to display genuine joy more often. And the more sparkles the episode budget allows, the better! So with that in mind, here's a few of my favorite pics of the boyo.

I already did Klavier so we're doing Kristoph now.
Favorite thing about him: his breakdown. He has two but they're both so fucking iconic and it takes SO MUCH WORK to get to them both times. The animations are so fucking cool and SO cathartic.
Least Favorite Thing: him getting thrown in the fucking vault after the game. Also that we barely get any interactions between him and Klavier through the game. There was so much potential for at least a bonus case in aa4 where Klavier gets to work through the trauma, but we got aa5 instead.
