I just noticed this now, but right before Heimerdinger and Viktor’s scene at the start of episode 6, the camera pans up and we several sewer tunnels.

There is some clear skull imagery happening here; for Victor’s impending death and him overall dealing with his mortality in not just this scene alone, but the rest of the episode and season as well.

I just never noticed this detail before, like at all, and thought it was so cool and amazing that I had to share it immediately.

Seriously, every time I think there’s nothing new that I can notice in this show, Arcane once more proves me completely wrong; and I absolutely love that about this amazing, god-tier level of a show.

In honor of the season 2 teaser, I finally got around to finishing this AMV. Enjoy!

In the scene where Viktor and Jayce are breaking in Heimerdingers office and Mel catches them, Viktor does thinking face and says:

"Is this not my bedroom?"

Like, Viktors first excuse was "Oh, I am an idiot, I am actually bringing this handsome man into my bedroom." And he didn't even think about it. His reaction was, I am not doing crime, I am just gay.

And it's hilarious.

i need people to understand how much the guns for hire scene lives rent free in my head because it’s just SO PERFECT??? let me list a few things about it that i love

•the way the music immediately kicks off when jinx lights the flare

•how it cuts from vi and silco, except vi has caitlyn helping her while silco lashes out at his underling

•silco’s blind rage. he’s pissed off because he couldn’t take care of vi, and because of that, he has the risk of losing jinx, which I would say is one of his biggest fears. the way he stumbles back after throwing his underling aside, then just screaming, to stomping the shit out of him is really telling when you have a character who is usually so composed. i think the writers did really well

•the angle when vi and caitlyn are running. i just think it looks neat. ALSO how vi looks back to check on caitlyn!!!

•vi and caitlyn sliding down the tunnel like how the enforcers are loading their guns

•the camera panning around jinx to show mylo and claggor. mylo’s always been the voice i’ve been able to pick out when she starts to break down. he’s frozen in a scream, while claggor is standing stoically

•when vi looks up to see the flare and we can see her begin to connect the dots

•the enforcers blocking the way back to piltover. i just like how tense it makes me feel and the lighting of that part

the whole scene is just great at getting you on edge. it shows you all these quick moments from the characters and they all build off each other. you understand exactly what they’re feeling and WHY they’re feeling that and the music just adds to all of it. it had me on the edge of my seat because WOW it’s just incredible all the way up to the end, literally one of my favorite scenes in the show

My favorite scene in Arcane S1 is when Dimitri helps Jayce fix the Hexgate and Jayce gets inexplicably mad at him because it's his and Viktor's lives' work.

As Expected, I Loved It

Arcane took me by great surprise. I remember thinking (when the trailer first dropped), I will most definitely enjoy the animation and soundtrack. I am usually a 2D or stop-motion animation kind of gal but the graphics for Arcane was just drop dead gorgeous. And that soundtrack was magnificent.

Prior to watching the TV show, I had no expectation for what this show might provide because I might have heard of League of Legends but that's pretty much the only thing I know – the name of the game. However, upon watching Arcane, I realised despite having so much new information to pick up and absorb, it's really not that hard to do so. I genuinely enjoyed all nine episodes in spite of being constantly stuck in the introduction phase. And really, that is the only problem I have with this TV show, that the entire season was basically the introduction – I say this with no malice intention at all. Coming from someone with zero knowledge, Arcane Season 1 really is a long introduction to the main characters of the show. Though I call it a problem, I fully accept it because now I (think, I) know what I will be getting myself into for the - hopefully - subsequent seasons.

Rating: ★★★★☆

Seriously, if I had a nickel for every blue-haired female character that worked my heart over through her incredible trauma... I’d have about four nickels. Which is only a bit more than expected yet surprising that it happened that much.

Netflix, piece of advice. Do NOT cancel this series if you hope to maintain any subscribers period.
