It's Tails first birthday with Sonic. Sonic estimates the kid is turning about 4, maybe 5 today. They're sitting at a little diner in some middle-of-nowhere town, partially because they don't have the funds for much more, but also because Tails only said he would like to go to a restaurant for his birthday.

It seemed like an odd choice for a kid, Sonic is pretty sure kids usually ask to go to things like amusement parks, or trampoline parks, or... Regular parks. He's not quite sure what kids like outside of parks, so maybe he's overthinking it.

Still, he asks Tails why he would want to go out to eat anyways. It seems like an odd choice for a rambunctious 4 (5?) year old.

"Oh." He mumbles, "Well I dunno what people do for birthdays, but one time I heard people back at the island talkin'bout going to dinner! I thought that's what people are s'posed to do, am I wrong?"

Sonic frowns for a moment, unsure of how to answer his question. It takes a little work to make the words he's looking for bubble up from his throat, still pretty unused to talking more than what's absolutely necessary.

"No, not really. You're-You are supposed to do what you want for your birthday. Whatever you want." Sonic's words drag in all the wrong places, and linger when he chokes on vowels. "Like, go to the park or.. something. Would you want to go to the park?"

Tails thinks for a moment and shakes his head.

"No, you don't play with me at the park, and I wanna spend my birthday with you, Sonic!"

Way to hit a hedgehog in his heart strings, huh? Normally when they're at a park there's other kids, so he lets them entertain themselves while he takes a nap on a nearby bench. He's not playing because he doesn't want to play, he's trying to encourage Tails to make friends. It seems, he may have screwed up somehow, not in any unfixable way though.

Sonic frowns, "If we go to the park I'm happy to play with you. Do you want to go?"

Tails shakes his head again, "I'm hungry."

Sonic laughs.

The diner staff are polite. They all have slow drawls that make it practically impossible for Sonic to actually listen to them, but by Gaia does he try. They just ask general questions; drinks, food, sauce, sides. Things like that. Sonic makes sure to mention Tails birthday as well, and the lady promises to come back with two free cupcakes.

The entire dinner flies by in no time at all. Tails does most of the talking, as usual, but Sonic tries harder to contribute to the conversations and ask engaging questions. Even when the fox starts going on and on about plane parts and upgrades that Sonic can't even begin to pronounce, let alone grasp what they do.

Soon enough, their dessert is out. Sonic has never been big on any types of sweets, so as soon as the happy birthday song the waiters sing is over he slides his cupcake to Tails side of the booth. It's more than worth it, even if he would've wanted the cupcake, because the kids eyes light up like Sonic has just handed him the stars.

"Are you gonna blow out your candle first?" Sonic chuckles, pointing at Tails own still sparking cupcake.

"Well duh!" He sasses, grinning.

"What're you gonna wish for?"

Again, Tails thinks, wrinkling his nose as if this is the most important question he's ever had to answer.

"It has t'be small." He says. "Just in case."

An eyebrow raise is shot Tails' way. "In case of what?"

"Well, the elders at the island always said wishin' comes at a price, that's why I was born with two tails y'see? So it can't be big, just in case, cuz I can't accidentally trade ya'up! You're more important to me than any wish ever!"

Before Sonic can respond, Tails has blown out his candle. The hedgehog's eyes are a little misty, and his nose is a little runny, unbeknownst to the little fox across from him. Never in Sonic's life has he had anyone be so.. so genuine to him. He's so beside himself with fondness he isn't quite sure what to do with it all, he feels so swollen with love he might explode.

Quietly, Sonic asks him what he wished for.

"Your long and pro-prosperous health! That means ya get to stay healthy for a long long time." Tails smiles but his face is deadly determined, as if he's truly trying to will his wish into existence by sheer force of will alone.

Sonic supposes he'll have to wish for the same thing on his birthday, just to make sure they're even.

Heyyyy y'all !! Should I probably wait until Tails actual birthday to post a birthday fic? Maybe. Do I care? Nope !! Come talk to me !! I don't bite I swear !!!

– When she was younger and with her parents, they did occasional Christmas activities, but nothing serious. Then with Vander and Powder, Vi tried to keep the Christmas spark alive for her sister, but eventually, the two of them lost the Christmas spark as they grew older.

– Despite wanting to rekindle her love for Christmas, Vi never had the time or resources to (ya know, being in prison and all).

– So, with you and Caitlyn, she gets to act like a kid again.

– She forces you guys awake super early on a weekend to get a real Christmas tree, cider or hot cocoa, and to shop for some decorations.

– Caitlyn's a casual enjoyer of Christmas.

– Her family celebrated, but celebrating to the Kirammans meant fancy and stuck-up dinners, stiff Christmas dresses, and getting clothes you didn't like as a child.

– Caitlyn much preferred the romanticization of Christmas like baking cookies, taking your partner(s) out into the snow to dance in the streets, reading by the fire, and listening to Christmas songs while decorating the house.

– Also, the Kirammans believed in fake trees to avoid mess and hired someone to decorate the house once they felt Cait was old enough to remember decorating for Christmas. (so like, age 8 is when they began to hire people).

– You can imagine Caitlyn's worry when Vi first brought up chopping down a tree and dragging it into the house.

–– In Vi's words, the trees you see before the tree farm are better in height, thickness, and smell.

A grunt came from the buff pinkette. She lodged her axe into the tree's thick bark, barely making a scratch. "I'm sure, Cupcake. Come on, I've seen movies about this."

"Oh, yeah? And how did that work out for them?" you chimed.

Vi let out a sarcastic laugh. "It went just fine." – –

– After the initial shock was gone and pine droppings were scattered throughout the house, Caitlyn found herself buzzing with excitement. Vi was right. The smell of pine-scented ornaments and sprays was nothing compared to the real thing.

– Just don't tell Vi that.

– When it comes to decorating the house and the tree, you guys have a routine and assigned roles.

– Vi gets the tree, brings it in, and sets it up. You two help her of course. When everything is set up, Caitlyn goes to bake the cookies you guys made last night, Vi cleans up the tree mess (and hides the damage she made on the floors), and you start decorating the mantle.

– When your jobs are completed, you gather to decorate the tree together.

– Each year someone is assigned to put the star on top of the three. This year, it's your turn!

– Vi is a person who puts the star on before the tree is decorated while Caitlyn likes to do it last. As for you, you do whatever makes you happy.

– If you do it before, Vi cheers while Caitlyn recoils in playful disgust.

– If you do it after, Vi will try to coax you into putting the star on top but fails each time. When you finally put the star on the tree, Caitlyn sighs out of relief and takes a step back to admire the tree.

– More like a modern AU of things, VI LOVES HOME ALONE. One is her favorite, and the others are irrelevant to her.

– She wants to name a future child, or pet, Kevin, but you and Cait won't allow her.

– Naming someone, or something, that name puts them up for failure. You already have a rambunctious scamp named Vi, you don't need another named Kevin.

– As for presents, you guys like to do stockings, gift exchanges, and your own gift trade.

– In your household, one person is responsible for the other's stocking. Exp: you would have Cait's, Vi has you, and Cait has Vi,

– Though you guys try to keep it a secret, who had who is obvious. Caitlyn likes to gift thoughtful and useful gifts for the stocking stuffers, Vi just does whatever makes her laugh and what reminds her of y'all.

– One year, Caitlyn got a porcelain broken witch's shoe. The reason? The witch shoe reminds Vi of Caitlyn's heels and the broken part reminds Vi of the one time Cait stubbed her toe so hard that she misshaped the toe of her shoe.

– Vi laughed so hard she was redder than Santa's suit. Meanwhile, Caitlyn looked like she swapped faces with the Grinch.

– As for gift exchanges, Caitlyn's "uppy tighty rich" friends host a Christmas party each year.

– You three dominate the competition by bringing the best and worst gifts ever.

– The worst gifts are funnier ones, courtesy of Vi, and the better gifts you three brainstormed on and spent hours shopping for. (Sorry, Vi)

– Each year, the gifts are a hoot and Vi is thankful at least one of Caitlyn's friends knows how to season food.

– As for your own gifts, you each set a price range for individually bought gifts. This way, you can buy a partner a lot of cheaper gifts or one really big one.

– You three also set out separate times to go shopping in pairs to buy gifts.

– So, you and Vi would go shopping to get a shared gift for Caitlyn, the same with you and Cait for Vi, and then Vi and Caitlyn for you.

– The budget for those gifts is kinda all over the place, but you each have an idea of the price range because you know what the other gifts are.

– On the big day, you three start by changing into your matching PJs, if you haven't fallen asleep in them already, washing your faces together, and herding into the kitchen.

– In the kitchen, Vi is in charge of making breakfast pancakes. She's not in charge because she's good or anything, no. Instead, she's in charge because she tries to make the pancakes holiday-shaped but fails miserably.

– You and Caitlyn take joy in guessing what shape the pancake is supposed to be.

– You focus on the other aspects of breakfast like the meat, eggs, grits or rice, etc. Whatever you see fit, you make.

– This leaves Caitlyn to make the hot drinks which is more like an unspoken rule.

– When the three of you first moved in together, you and Vi would make Caitlyn's coffee for her because she had long nights and early mornings. This would be one thing to take off her morning list, right?

– WRONG.

– With each new attempt, the coffee always came out wrong to Caitlyn.

– At first, the mistakes made sense.

– "Vi, I'm chewing grounds in my coffee." "Darling, this is Earl Grey, not coffee."

– But once you and Vi got the hang of things, her reasons got nitpicky.

– "This roast isn't dark enough." "Too dark." "Is this decaf?" "Is this even the right brand of coffee?"

– Eventually, you and Vi studied her when she made her coffee and jolted the recipe down. But, even following her routine to the exact "T" wasn't good enough.

– – "You know what?" Vi huffed, tossing down the spoon she used to scoop the coffee beans. "I don't want to do this anymore. Day in and day out, we always get her 'order' wrong. I don't think it's worth the extra hour of getting up."

With a heavy sigh, you stare into the empty mug you held. Deep down, you knew Vi was right but you both agreed to take on the challenge and to one day give Caitlyn her perfect cup of joe. It couldn't be the end already...

It's only been a year and 36 days!

"Yeah," you said putting the mug back in the cupboard. "Maybe we're not good coffee makers, Vi." Vi slung her arm around your shoulders, grinning proudly.

"I'm fine with that, Muffin. Are you?"

Feeling some sort of accomplishment stir inside you, you nod and match her grin. "Yeah, actually. Like you said, we get an extra hour of sleep back."

45 minutes later, Caitlyn woke up to no coffee on her nightstand. Relief washed over her and she smiled after coming to. Finally, the war was over.

Caitlyn could make her coffee and have her mornings to herself before going to work.

Here's a little secret about Caitlyn: she didn't want you guys making her coffee in the first place. Her coffee was the one thing she had to control over on weekdays. She didn't want anyone else taking that from her. – –

– Since then, Caitlyn has been in charge of making her own coffee and other hot drinks on Christmas day.

– After eating breakfast and trying to guess the shapes of pancakes, you three gather in the living room and open up stockings.

– Of course, Caitlyn already has the fireplace on and Christmas music playing softly in the background.

– As for opening the actual gifts, Cait's the type to open them up carefully and precisely. Vi is as violent as Jinx when it comes to opening up her wrapped gifts.

– Vi likes to say, "No way!" or laugh really loudly when she gets a gift she wasn't expecting.

– Caitlyn's smile takes over her face, her eyes beaming. Her cheeks get pink as she realizes you and Vi pay more attention to her than she thought and then she says a sheepish "thank you".

– It happens every year and you wouldn't change it for the world.

– When you open your gifts, the girls cling onto each other and giggle when you open a gift they said you weren't getting.

– "HA! Bet you thought you weren't getting that, huh, Muffin?" "That is the right one, yes? We knew you wanted it for a while."

– If they ever remember to get a camera, they forget every year, they take pictures of your sweet face and cute cheeks when you open up your gifts.

– People's hearts and bodies typically warm up after having something hot, but Vi and Cait's warm at the sight of your smile and pure joy.

– Your essence and feeling is the only thing that can't be captured with a photograph, but Caitlyn and Vi are grateful to experience it first hand.

Ok so this is more of a ramble or thought that I just wanted to share cause it's haunting my brain.

I was listening to 'Unholy Matrimony' by Giveon and the lyrics of the song are kind of Chan-coded yk? Well more Chan being in a long-term relationship and is realizing that he doesn't feel the same anymore.

"I believe we could have been together in a past life, but right now we're committed to the fast life" Like rn Stray Kids are one of 'the biggest things in kpop' and Chan as the leader feels the need to prioritize his job and to care for the kids and as a result he may be unintentionally neglecting his relationship. But then it goes both ways, his partner being just as busy so the relationship feels kinda stagnant. "The reality set in, we don't wanna do this anymore... somebody stop us now before we say our vows...before we get too far and this ends in the hard way" Chan and his partner may have been together for so long that marriage seems inevitable. But now Chan is starting to feel like they've 'lost their spark'. But then breaking up after being together for so long seems cruel so he's hoping that someone will object to the 'marriage' so that they don't have to go through with it.

"Our love story's ended way too soon, you're supposed to love me to the tomb. Hardly stood a chance to tell the truth. Speak, baby tell me that you knew, we came all this way to lose" Maybe one last conversation is what he needs before they end things. That what he's feeling is being reciprocated. That while they may have loved each other, right now they just don't have time for love or each other. And maybe breaking up would be better than letting the relationship "go stale" in a way. I don't know I'm just rambling and I wanted to share with you. I hope you're doing well and taking care of yourself. Make sure to stay hydrated and take care.

Also, I completely agree with you on Chan feeling cruel for breaking up after that long but in the end, he usually puts people he cares about first...so if hurting you a little instead of making you suffer for another whole while, both not feeling as you should being together, I think he'd definitely pick the first option.

Seventeen: the more I have learned about him the more his personality just makes me love him; sweet, kind, gentle, and also the world's biggest heathen - what more could I want? Monsta X: very similar to the above; he had so much talent and charisma, but I saw that he was appreciated so little for it, so I took it upon myself to show him the love he deserves! Another cute, sweet, heathen (who makes d*ck jokes on national television) Ateez: he and I are very similar in a lot of ways, like with our nerdy interests and clean-freak tendencies, and that really endeared me to him a lot; he's also a sweetheart who will also find a way to create chaos when space permits (he's also super fucking hot have you seen him???) Stray Kids: I saw just how much he cared for the rest of the members so early on through the Stray Kids survival show; seeing how much time, effort, dedication, and passion he had for them and for music really made me fall for him (and, he is also a sweet cute heathen) NCT 127: Another case of a member going so deeply underappreciated that I decided that I will be their biggest cheerleader, and the more I learn about him and his devilishly charming personality the more I love him (and another cute, super hot heathen) KARD: literally just bisexual panic. that's the only explanation I have. That and both of them are so talented and have incredible charisma and stage presence that its hard for me to look away!

Was listening to a song and had a Thought

So skelly’s kid (or kids) are in school. They come home one day and they want to join sports! (or maybe a club, if that’s more the kids’ speed). I think I know the answer, but who’s all in, cheering at every game? Who’s got the team’s colors painted on their face? Who wishes the kid would rather stay home? Or at least do something a bit quieter and (in the case of football) less dangerous?

Macaw- Honestly wants nothing to do with sports. He'd be like 'don't you mean chess club? or debate?? maybe... stamp collecting??? PLEASE???'

Lupo- ALL FOR IT. He doesn't care for football but would encourage soccer or basketball! He's cheering loudly at every game! He is his child's MASCOT

Falcon- Thinks they should get into wrestling. Finds it a damn shame boxing isn't allowed. Encourages them to cheat smartly ie don't get caught.

Jackal- If that's what his little royal wants... But he can't be mad. Exercise is good for kids! But not football. Stars that sport is a crime against nature. He shows up completely unpainted, but then unfurls a GIANT banner cheering his little one on.

Jay- YES go for it! Any sport! All the sport! He's as bad as Lupo in the 'obnoxious cheering' part.

Fox- Track and Field, MAYBE. But he can't go to games, his anxieties would hit too hard with all the sounds.

Crow- His competitive spark flares back to life and he helps his child train as much as they want. He provides the whole team training and snacks and water. He can and will curse out other parents and probably be banned from games.

Hound- Supports, sure. But uuugghhh he doesn't wanna goooo. The games are so LOUD and they get on his case for smoking. Can't he support his pup from home? Though if anyone tries to say a WORD about his kid's playing he's growling and looming.

Vulture- Archery. They can take Archery, and Track and Field. If he goes to games he's wearing noise cancelling earmuffs.

Hyena- Same as Vulture. But he'd start fights with other parents... or INSTIGATE fights between people while somehow not being in it.

Robin- Yes but if his child loses he's... taking them out for pizza after disposing of their FAILURE teammates.

Dingo- Must not chase the ball must not chase the ball MUST NOT-- Also brings lots of snacks and water for his pup, supporting them with sweet words and helping them feel better if they lose... somehow gets hit on a lot by the soccer moms there.

6. What made you head over heels for Jesse? What lit that spark for you?

- To be honest...? It was just her being her genuine self that really got to me. I was talking to her one day, I think I was talking about some of my interests since she asked me what I like to do. I felt that I should stop talking since I've been babbling for long minutes now, I apologized then said something like how it's probably hard to catch up with what I'm saying. I've gotten a bit more worried if people really cared about what I talk about lately. But to my surprise, she smiled at me, and said something like;

"I like listening to you, it's how I can get to know you more."

From that point, I started feeling uneasy. Maybe it's because I've never, or haven't heard someone say that to me for quite some time now and it's like a wave of water suddenly washing over your face and you're fazed? Something like that, but that uneasiness wasn't necessarily bad because it made me feel ticklish inside.

And since then, I couldn't help but anticipate for the next day she would come back to visit, because she wouldn't mind — no, heck, she would LOVE to know more about me. That anticipation slowly became admiration because I've started to think about her even when she's not there, then I would notice her little habits and quirks and suddenly — boom. It's more than just admiration now. I had a crush on her. Then the rest happened, and then to present. I still think about those days, honestly, she makes me smile a lot more now.

- Heh, I like this one. I have some to share :)

Ever since I expressed my interest for Ska, the next time we talked about it, she suddenly became more knowledgeable about it. I couldn't help but raise a brow at that. I jokingly told her "it's like you suddenly researched about it for me." and she looked a little nervous after that. Turns out that I was right, she did search about it after I talked about it. She just wanted to impress me, but I can't make fun of her, because I totally would've done the same.

Another was when she would come home from either her part time job, or university, she ALWAYS has something written on her hand. It will always have something to do with writing "T + J" or "Tom <3". She admitted that it's always her happy place when she looks at her hand whenever she's feeling stressed. She adapted habit this back at her elementary days, but it still continued on to this day. It's adorable, yeah but it also tells me that she needed to cope momentarily and I feel that I have to do something about it, whenever I see ink smudge on her left hand.

It's fantastic. There were so many parts where I couldn't help but widen my eyes because of how accurate it was. Also that Novemeber mention made me chuckle, just make it December and we're good to go.

The part where it went "Mine was wack, then I thought about you, felt alright.", why was that so accurate??? I smiled hard, because yeah! Pretty much! And the "did you call me baby?" is a good throwback to the whole T.omee Bear nickname thingy, it's like this song is written by me, except I didn't even know it existed!

I have too many to really choose from,, these are probably the ships I have the most bookmarks for in A03 honestly.

1st ever ship: Mmm, probably Story/Superhusbands (Tony Stark x Steve Rogers)? It was the first ship I made fics, read fics, and made fan art for. I still ship it to this day. The concept of soulmates (platonic or romantic) across the multiverse is so so so so appealing to me.

Currently watching:  Andor and Lego Masters! Yeah,, I haven't finished Andor,, these last few weeks were super busy but I have like four episodes left! As for Lego Masters, I fucking love that show. I really hate when people around me call me “useless”, “lazy” or their favorite “careless”. When all that time all i dream of is end of my life. I do not have any energy to live . I am overwhelmed by everything that surrounds me. I do not enjoy even hanging out with people Anymore. I do not enjoy watching movies or tv series as I used to. I do not enjoy reading books as I used to and I used to be huge book lover. The only thing that I enjoy is listening to music and going for a walk, because only them I can escape from my reality to another reality that I created in my head. Only then constant overthinking stops. The idea of keeping living terrifies me because i have zero idea what i like and what i would like to do in the future. This all is just too much and their comments about me being not enough is not helping me .

i'm so sorry you feel that way anon. i've been in your shoes multiple times in my life, hell, even to some extent now.

first off, you are not what others say you are. those ppl don't know you, even if they've been in your life since you were born. the only person that knows you is you. and the main thing you gotta focus on is not pleasing them, but pleasing yourself. you have to become your own best friend, bc you will always be with yourself at the end of the day. find the things about yourself that you like. i know that might be hard or feel weird, but seriously: there are so many parts about you that are awesome. i just know it. you wouldn't have kept yourself around this long if you didn't love yourself, even the tiniest bit. so find the things you like about yourself and maybe even write them down so you can always remember them.

for example, i really love my humor. i think i'm fucking hilarious. there is not a single person on this earth that can tell me i'm not funny. i have very little confidence in a lot of myself, but i know for a fact i'm funny and no one can take that away from me.

and as for not liking the things you used to enjoy: i'll be honest, i don't know a real answer that would help you completely. i think you gotta just take it a day at a time and see what sparks your interest. like for me, the reading thing, i'm in your same shoes. i used to read so fucking fast when i was kid. burn thru books left, right, and center. but now, i'm struggling just to read one book a month. i think the best thing you gotta do is remove expectations. not everything is a race to see who gets it done the fastest or how many of one thing can you get done before X date. when i was a kid, i read a lot both to escape my shitty school life, but also bc i wanted to look smart. i wanted ppl to be like "holy shit, you read THAT many books?" and now that i'm older, no one fucking cares about that. so when you see a book that sounds intriguing, start reading it. give yourself time to enjoy it, find the parts that you like the most. highlight, annotate, do whatever. maybe go outside the genres you're used to reading. and don't rush yourself to finish something in the same manner you once did when you were a kid/younger.

and for movies and tv shows, there are SOOOOO many out there, you will eventually find something that just hits for you. it will happen, you just gotta give it time. and if you need to, go back and watch the shit you used to like. same with books. put yourself back in the headspace you once had when you were originally reading/viewing it. get nostalgic, relive those memories if it helps.

and if listening to music and walking is your escape, keep at it. there's nothing wrong with that. i would suggest that maybe while you're out on your walks, take a journal with you. find a spot to sit down like at a park or store or just somewhere, and just write. write out your feelings, write what song you're listening to and how that makes you feel, make up an AU based on the song, whatever you want. but be upfront and honest about your emotions. this can just be for you and you alone. so vent to it like you would someone you're extremely close to. writing my feelings down has helped me so much, and i think it could help you.

and the future can be scary, especially when you don't know what to do with it. but look at the endless possibilities as not overwhelming, but choices you can make if you want to. you don't have to stick to one thing for the rest of your life. you can be a jack of all trades and just be good at a little bit of everything. there's nothing wrong with that. some ppl are able to stick to one thing and make it their own, some do that ten times over with a bunch of shit. there's nothing wrong with either approach. and if you want me to be brutally honest: when it comes to something like a job, personally, i more believe that you just gotta find something that doesn't make you hate life. bc i'm never gonna like working. i don't live to work, i work to live. i want to be in my bed, watching youtube or something everyday for the rest of my life. but if working thru retail (at this current moment in time) allows me to do that when i can, then i'll take it for now. and idk how young or old you are, but i'm about to be 27 and i have no idea what i'm doing. neither does my brother, who's 32, and neither does my mom who's 61. and legitimately, most ppl don't know what they're doing either. we all just collectively pretend we do.

when i was 13, i was bullied to the brink of ending my own life. i know how terribly words can effect a person. and i don't know if there is an easy solution to not listening to ppl and how they speak about you. but what i do know is that those ppl that hurt me, or that are hurting you, don't have to be in your life forever. you don't have to let their words dictate who you are. you get to decide that. and if i'm honest, the ppl that said terrible things about me, they were hurting internally and decided to take it out on me. it doesn't give them the right to do that, but i can't change that now. and for you, those ppl that say those garbage things about you, are doing it bc they're hurting too. they are probably jealous of how amazing you are, at how bright you shine, and want to dull you out so you're on their level. don't let them win.
