Buddie predictions/speculation for the remainder of 6A:
SPOILER TALK/BTS
Episode 7 (Cursed):
Eddie gets cursed by the bracelet lol (he just doesn't believe it until later).
Eddie doesn't think anything of it (because curses aren't real...right, Eddie?).
Eddie and Chris go to the beach and Buck has plans to meet them there (Evidence: Ryan and Gavin were seen filming on the beach a few weeks ago).
Buck calls Eddie while driving and says that he's almost there (Evidence: Oliver was seen filming in Buck's jeep near the beach a few weeks ago).
Tumblr media
Buck gets another call from the sperm donation clinic that there is some kind of complication and he won't be able to donate (Evidence: Oliver mentioned in an interview that the sperm donor storyline would reappear in episode 7 and indicated that there would be complications).
Buck spirals and while he's spiraling/still driving, his jeep gets t-boned (I'm taking the car incident in episode 4 as a foreshadow. I don't think buck is out of the danger zone just yet when it comes to car accidents).
Episode 8 (911, What's Your Fantasy?)
Buck winds up in a coma/on a vent.
Eddie spirals and starts to believe in curses.
The episode title comes in to play as we see snippets of Buck and Eddie's fantasies about their futures. Perhaps Buck (while in his coma) dreams of having a family and kids. Perhaps Eddie thinks about a potential romantic future with Buck.
Regardless, we get some kind of confirmation that eddie is feeling non-platonic things for Buck. This could be as simple as an obviously romantic-coded look/shot, or it could be as big as a third party confession. But either way, we will KNOW buddie is headed in a romantic direction by the end of this episode.
Episode 9 (Red Flag):
As I mentioned in a previous post, "Red flag" is a term used in Emergency Medicine to indicate that something really serious could be happening with a patient. I think Buck's condition will worsen before he gets better (a sort of tarlos parallel). Perhaps the red flag will have something to do with Buck's heart (dropping BP, heart rate issues, etc.) so we can have the heart theme from 5B continue.
Eddie continues to spiral.
Buck finally starts getting better.
There is a cute mid season montage and in the middle of that we get a third party confession from Eddie (to probably chim) that he's in love with Buck. And that's our cliffhanger for the season.
Do I think all of this will happen? Absolutely not. Do I think some of this could happen? Absolutely! Do I believe we will know that buddie is definitively going in a romantic direction by the end of 6A? Yes 100%.
Let me know your thoughts! Feel free to add things!

I’m sure someone has already said this, but Hen’s queer realization moment was realizing she wanted to kiss her best friend, and now we have Buck showing up on Hen’s doorstep. Hopefully about to discuss that with someone who has experienced the same thing.

look okay buck's whole arc this season has been about fatherhood in some sense or other and i can't stop thinking about buck's dreaming having no one but his biological family in it but christopher. like towards the end of the episode buck hears this kid crying and he's all alone so he goes up and asks him what's wrong and chris is like "i just want my dad" so buck offers to help find him and he's asking about him but chris keeps giving really cryptic answers like "he's got a lightning scar like harry potter" and "he won't wake up, why won't he wake up" which is when buck wakes up to find christopher crying at his bedside in eddie's arms and buck thinks back to the last time chris was being discussed in a hospital room and he meets eddie's eyes and suddenly everything makes a lot more sense

Anyone else peep Eddie’s reaction when Buck broke the news?
Call me a Buddie clown, but I feel like TPTB are giving Eddie these subtle and dumb-downed reactions now so in 6B, he’ll actually make a move to reach out to Buck about the sperm donor situation. Like, he’ll actually sit Buck down and talk sense into him and make him realize that he isn’t that baby’s father.
And if that happens, then it’s only natural that he’ll be by Buck’s side as he helps him through his inevitable breakdown once everything comes to a head.

Thinking about Eddie and his fear of dying alone. Thinking about Eddie saving himself from the well. Thinking about how even though Eddie could save himself, him getting help is the more interesting choice. Thinking about how this could go.

this will either be the most inaccurate, shot-in-the-dark, completely nothing prediction I've ever made, or it'll be my most big-brained, apollo's-gift-of-prophecy, kissing-the-writers-on-the-mouths speculation yet, but i gotta place my bets before the speculation window closes, so:
calling it right now, i think Buck's gonna get blown up/be injured in an explosion at the very end of 6A/start of 6B, and that's what will lead to buddie canon. also this is how coma buck can still win
#911#my logic behind this is that we watched the s2 finale This Life We Choose last night and it felt like the fucking Rosetta stone#for what the writers are trying to do right now. upcoming episode In Another Life? bro.#go watch this life we choose. i swear I'm not crazy like this is it. this is what they're paralleling i found it#buddie#911 speculation#911 spec#911 meta#and i mean come on the symmetry of it. Buck and Eddie first bonded defusing a bomb#it would be the other shoe that we've been waiting for that we knew was gonna drop on buck like a cartoon anvil#it would parallel the ladder truck bombing which was what led to the lawsuit which made buck feel like his family was taken away from him#so another explosion bringing his family to him...#this episode had ali breaking up with buck bc being a first responders partner was too scary. Eddie getting with buck#bc he wants to be his partner and have his back and save him in the field#THIS LIFE WE CHOOSE HAD A MARRIED COUPLE ARGUING OVER THE HUSBAND BEING RECKLESS AGAIN EVEN AFTER HE PROMISED TO STOP#WHO DOES THAT SOUND LIKE! the fucking WILL!#there was all that behind the scenes about blowing up a bridge? for 610/611#and 6a started with the blimp emergency that was mistaken for a bombing bc of the girls heart pump backpack#telling you Right now that was foreshadowing#I've never been more convinced#and they've been going HEAVY on the crush injuries this season... this life we choose had a line from Maddie#like saying crush injuries can be tricky bc of hypovalemia or hyperkalemia. what if he gets those#and Eddie saving buck from a bridge bombing would parallel buck saving Eddie from the shooting#and. isn't. isn't Brenna who directed Eddie getting shot. coming back. to direct again.#you GUYS.#this will be what all the buck almost getting hit by a car etc etc foreshadowing was for

cookie, may i hear about your chim-centred theory for ‘in another life’?👉👈🥺
Not me hoping that someone would ask me 😂 Thank you 💜 I also JUST learned about what 610 is gonna involve, so I'm molding my theory to that too! Not that I think this'll happen, but I like to make everything about Chim 😁
Warning: this gets kinda sad, and alludes to suicide.
So my theory is that 610 ends with Buck and Chim working together on a rescue, and there's some imminent danger and Buck tries to save Chim but between one lightning flash and another, Chim's gone. The next episode opens in a world where Chim was never at the 118 to start with, and we see how everyone's lives end up.
Hen doesn't save the kid in the lake, and even with the reassurance of the chief, she slowly loses heart. Maybe she transfers out, maybe she sticks it out. Either way, there's no Chim to set her up with Karen, to give her both sets of family.
Bobby doesn't have the rebar crash to make him realise that he's got people now that he truly cares about, doesn't discover his magic arm, doesn't find a reason to live beyond the 148 lives he'd save.
Without Bobby at the helm, Buck doesn't find his family, doesn't find a brother in Chimney, doesn't find a home in LA. Maybe he stays, or maybe he gets back in the jeep and drives on.
Without Bobby as Captain, Eddie ends up at station 6, slowly drowning under the feeling of inadequacy and the lack of support to provide for Christopher in the way he wants to.
Even if Buck stays in LA, Maddie without Chimney ... unthinkable.
In another life, in a life without Chim, in a life without the heart of the 118, without Hen's best friend and Bobby's second and Buck's brother and Maddie's partner, there IS no life.
So, we get to see the impact on everyone else, and THEN we get to FINALLY see the impact on yet another near death experience on Chimney (let. that. man. break. and let Maddie support him properly)

but if "911, what's your fantasy?" is buck spending the episode picturing how him and eddie would be as a couple (after potentially a almost kiss, after the reveal of the PoSiBiLLitiES) and the future they might have, pondering what may change if they take that step, or what if it doesn't change at all, then what does that mean yk???? does he believe in himself enough to believe he deserves it? that he is not gonna wreck it? be too much, too loud, too selfish? can he live with himself if he is the one to drive eddie away?
intwining his life with the diaz boys together with his fantasy and dream of a family, of stability, of that Special Connection - of what he's always wanted - with the realization that maybe, MAYBE, that dream is what they have had All Along.
This thing that they've Made. That they have Built.
WHAT THEN

I’m not new to the 911 fandom, this is my third, if we don’t count 2020 winter hiatus, and it was never so calm, just think about last year the billions ff, and fan videos about eddie leaving, or the multitude of buddie Christmas ff, now everything is almost silent. We can say 911 it’s not the buddie show, and it’s true, but buddie was a very strong driving force to watch it, with the almost 0 scenes of 6a, a lot of people re just leaving
Yep. It's not the Buddie show (but Tim wants to make LS the T-rlos show, LOL), but there's no denying that the Buddie fandom is what keeps the conversation going on social media - and Tim knows that, because after s4 he admitted he wanted the shooting scene to be something fans couldn't stop talking about. There's only so much speculation that can be done when we're given so little to work with, and personally, I think it's gotten to a point where people (even the ones who tried to stay optimistic) are tired of reading/hearing about how a story line *could* play out when we've seen time and again that the show very rarely devotes the kind of attention to Buddie we expect in the aftermath of something important for those two as friends and potential romantic partners. Idk what the show is doing with Buddie right now, but it's still not a slow burn. Two characters not speaking to each other unless it's necessary and not about anything personal is not the recipe for romance in the fifth season. Had those guys spoken to others/been called out by others for obvious "issues" with their dynamic, there would be cause to celebrate because at least we're in the know on why they're acting different, but opting not to do even that tells me the plan (if there is one) isn't up to the level of fandom's expectations. The way this show operates...we're more likely to get two or three episodes "hinting at" something more and then, oh, hey, look who's dating now.

Okay, I’ve had brain rot thinking about this for a few months now, so I’m gonna try to put it into words, now that we’ve seen the season 5 finale.
911 has amazing queer characters, relationships, storylines and one off characters. However, they don’t have a single queer character who didn’t “come out” to the audience in their first episode. Okay, I’m not entirely sure about Josh’s first appearance, but Josh fits a stereotype well enough that he didn’t have to say anything that confirmed he’s gay in his first episode on the show.
There’s no one that we were “supposed to” assume was straight that later came out to us after they were an established character.
My guess is that we won’t get Buddie until after they’ve done this, to test audience reactions. Because the show runners will want to know that they won’t get a bunch of fans jumping ship over them “making everyone gay”.
I think that if Buddie is endgame, then there’s a good chance we get either Lucy, Ravi, May or Albert coming out as gay or bi in 6a, before they make moves towards Buddie actually happening in 6b. Probably Lucy or Ravi if they’re just doing a coming out storyline, because we haven’t seen their personal lives very much. If it’s a realization and then coming out after that storyline, then it will probably be May or Albert, because we’ve seen more of their personal lives, seen them at home, we know their families.
Of course, I would also love to just see any of these characters come out for their own sake, especially if it gives us another heartfelt Han brothers storyline.
TLDR—I think if we get an already established recurring character coming out in 911 season 6 then there’s a good chance we get canon Buddie too

just realized that a wildfire ep means we'll get:

no lone star yellow filter
+ him and buck being battle boyfriends together
pretty fun.

I feel like the 911 writers saw what everyone was speculating about during 6a and were like “write that down WRITE THAT DOWN” bc there is NO WAY we just manifested coma!buck out of thin air

I can't believe I am now only noticing Buck is having the same arc as Eddie last season and vice versa for Eddie.
Buck was the seemingly content one, but as viewers we also knew he was slightly troubled. But Eddie was the one suffering. Eddie spoke to Carla and made a decision to leave the 118 without consulting Buck. Then Eddie breaks in the back half and it's Buck who helps him while resolving his relationship issues.
Now we have Eddie as the content one, but we also see he is slightly troubled and lonely. Buck makes a huge decision but consulted Hen not Eddie. And the news dropped in the mid season finale.
Or am I reading to much into that? Either way I'm excited to see how it plays out when Buck inevitably does have some sort of crisis in whatever form
It really sort of lines up, though, with what I have always thought about how Buddie being Canon goes. Which is to me a sprinkle of realization at the end of a season in order to secure another season. Both of them are happy and healthy of mind by the end of 6, and some small acknowledgment of Buddie in any form is enough to drive speculation all summer..
Hi Nonnie! Thank you for this ask.
No, I don’t think you’re reading too much into this at all! It’s kind of what I meant when I kept saying that so far, the story telling structure seems to be parallel between 5a and 6a, which is one of the reasons I’ve been assuming we’ll also see similarities (and the same kind of coming back together of Buck and Eddie) in 6b’s structure to 5b. I’m pretty sure I also explained it at some point in terms of how they came back together as Buck came to Eddie’s help, and now we’re waiting to see Eddie being there to help out Buck, but I’m so sorry, my vertigo’s too bad to try finding the relevant posts for you. If you look through my ask tag, I hope you can find them! Or if anyone skilled and kind would wanna help? But basically, you’re so very valid, I agree with you completely.
And not just about these s5 and s6 parallels, I’ve also said before that I pretty much expect 911, if it lets Buddie go canon, to reserve that first moment of actual canon-ness (hush, it’s a word now) for a season finale, because that will for sure generate a buzz, get more people interested, maybe bring in new viewers who can binge watch the show during the hiatus between the seasons, so they’ll raise the viewing figures for the show when it returns...
I hope this helped? Have a lovely day! As always, my ask tag’s here.
