“I’m wearing a 60s velvet dress and Lamoda boots. I'm deeply inspired by fashion from 1900-1980 so I mainly get my clothes second hand, from flea markets, vintage shops or friends. I even have some pieces sewn by my talented friends. I very rarely buy anything as brand new. I like to play around and mix and match different styles how ever I feel like that day. Human being is a complex formed by many things and I try my best to express it on my aesthetics.”

Peter Tork dancing, 1960s to 1980s; clips from “The Spy Who Came In From The Cool,” the Star Collector” sequence, Head, 33 & ⅓ Revolutions Per Monkee, The Monkees live show in Michigan in August 1987, Solid Gold in 1987, and the Pat Sajak Show in 1989. (Audio from Peter’s live performance of “Long Title: Do I Have To Do This All Over Again?” at CBGB on July 31, 1977.)
“Between scenes, Peter’s always reading some book. He’s really the intellectual of the group, interested in various religions and politics. Peter has a smile for everyone who comes on the set no matter how tired he gets. The boys work every day from 7 A.M. to 7 P.M. [...] Whenever he gets the chance, Peter talks to others about the Beatles. He’s quieter off the screen than he seems on and is always very courteous to others. He loved dancing in high school but now he’s not so crazy about it though he’s still good.” - Ann Moses, Tiger Beat, January 1967
Q: "Being a multi-instrumentalist, did any of the instruments come to you easier than others?" Peter Tork: "No. It’s all the same. Each instrument has its own facilities, its own challenges. It’s funny. I think I play piano best of all. I think I rank highest as a banjo player among all the people who do what I do at any given thing. In other words I’m in the 15th percentile as a piano player, and maybe 25th as a guitar player and 85th as a banjo player, but I don’t know why that is. One, is it’s simple, I get to relax, I don’t know. Each thing is different and I don’t get to dance as much. I play guitar mostly because I get to dance with it. Piano doesn’t dance. It just sits there – a wallflower instrument – a stick in the mud." - Enigma Online, 2006; published 2015

The Red Pencil
A not-quite-microfic written for @thethreebroomsticksficfest A Very Harry Birthday mini event! Happy birthday Harry!
Tumblr media
Harry steps into his Year 5 classroom, tucking his too-large, dingy white shirt into his equally oversized grey trousers. His glasses slide down the bridge of his nose and he pushes them back, looking up at the colorful calendar next to the blackboard.
“Move!” Harry is knocked to the floor by Piers Polkiss, Dudley’s rat-faced friend. Harry deflates; he expected a Dudley-free classroom, as Aunt Petunia demanded her Ickle Diddykins be placed with Mrs Croft, the sought-after Cedar class teacher. Harry is in the Holly class with Miss Turner, a new teacher, who doesn’t notice one of her pupils is rubbing his scraped elbow.
Harry stands, only to be pushed against the wall by another one of Dudley’s friends, Gordon, who laughs and finds a seat next to Piers.
“Is everything all right?” asks a wispy voice. Miss Turner fiddles with her big, beaded necklace and blinks down at Harry. He peers around her, where Piers and Gordon are eyeing him threateningly.
He won’t say a word.
“Yes, Miss Turner,” Harry replies dully. “I slipped when I was looking at the . . .”
“Calendar?”
Harry nods and turns to face the grid, noticing his name printed in one of the squares.
“Why is my name here?” he asks, pointing to the square. His Year 4 teacher always put his name on the blackboard if he misbehaved; Aunt Petunia would lock him in the cupboard all night.
Miss Turner frowns. “Your birthday isn’t on the 31st?”
Harry glances at the calendar once more. He finds Piers’s name in the square reserved for 28 July. An American film about dinosaurs was released that day; Dudley and Piers went to the cinema for it. They returned to taunt Harry, saying that an animated orphan was far better than a real one.
Swallowing the memory, he counts the squares. If Miss Turner’s calendar is correct, his ninth birthday was only three days later.
“I didn’t know I had a birthday.”
“Everyone has a birthday,” Miss Turner says, confused. “Did you forget?”
Other boys and girls are watching them, falling silent. Harry feels his cheeks grow hot. He knew he had to have a birthday, but Aunt Petunia told him she didn’t know when it was, which is why he couldn’t have a birthday party or presents.
“I forgot,” he lies, as Piers and Gordon snicker at each other. Miss Turner shrugs and nudges him toward an open seat near the front.
The school bell rings only a few moments later, sparing Harry from further embarrassment. He keeps his gaze on the date shown in the grid, memorizing it so he won’t forget. 31 July 1980 is my birthday, he thinks repeatedly, wondering what that day was like for his parents. He knows they died when he was already over a year old.
Had his birthday been celebrated once, when they were alive?
“Harry Potter!”
Harry blinks up at Miss Turner. She holds out a red pencil, topped with a star-shaped eraser, wrapped with a golden ribbon. It has a card attached to it, with “Happy Birthday!” printed in big, bold letters.
“Here you are,” Miss Turner says, handing him the pencil. “We’re celebrating everyone who had birthdays in July and August.” She moves onto the next student, Gemma Rollins, whose birthday was two weeks before the start of term. Harry holds the pencil gingerly, the only birthday gift he’s received (that he knows of). He chooses not to write with it. It’s special, just for him, something Dudley can’t take away.
But Piers can take it away, and by lunch, it’s no longer in Harry’s possession. By the end of the day, Gordon snaps it in half and tears the star-shaped eraser in two. The card is in shreds, carried off by the wind.
Harry knows better than to complain. Now that he knows his birthday, he can tell Aunt Petunia and Uncle Vernon. He won’t get much for his birthday, if Christmas is anything to go by, but something is better than nothing.
It’s much later that day, after Aunt Petunia and Uncle Vernon have heard about Dudley’s marvelous first day of school, that Harry brings up his discovery. He’s done washing the dishes and finds Aunt Petunia in the garden, trimming the hydrangeas.
“Aunt Petunia?”
“Have you broken something?” she says, snipping a stem with a scowl.
“I found out when my birthday is.” He pushes his glasses up his nose, wishing they fit his face better. “The 31st of July. My teacher, Miss Turner, has a calendar with our birthdays on it.”
Aunt Petunia flinches. “It must be correct.”
“If I know my birthday now, can I get pre—”
“Only good, well-behaved boys get presents,” she snaps, twisting the head of a hydrangea clean off its stem. “Father Christmas doesn’t bring presents to naughty children. Why would naughty boys and girls get presents for their birthdays?”
Harry almost tells her he did get a birthday gift, a pencil, but Piers took it away. “Yes, Aunt Petunia,” he says miserably.
“Go to your cupboard. You’re going to get filthy if you stay out here.”
He shuffles away, avoiding Dudley’s chocolatey smirk and Uncle Vernon’s glare, and throws himself on the thin mattress in the cupboard. He feels something jabbing his side and hopes it’s not a mouse. Turning over, Harry sees the golden ribbon. The red pencil is on his bed, whole and untouched, with its star-shaped eraser and attached card.
With a grin, Harry stores the gift in an empty shoebox at the foot of his bed. He falls asleep, dreaming of flying, a gentle, tinkling laugh, and warm, hazel eyes crinkled with joy.
...
*The Land Before Time (1988) really was released on 28 July 1989 in the UK.

No I've always liked the headcanon of Harry being Regulus reincarnated but I've only just realized that nine months before July 31, 1980 is October 31, 1979
Consider the irony of Reg dying specifically on Halloween

Harry, Luna - humming @raehb336
Based on this
Harry found her sitting at his grave.
She always had the strangest way of knowing when he needed to be comforted. Today was no exception.
It was on the anniversary of his death. Harry always took the opportunity to visit every year. They told him it wasn't healthy, but for some reason Harry just couldn't seem to let go.
She couldn't see him, but he knew she was aware of his presence. When he stepped closer, he could hear her humming a familiar tune. He couldn't name the song, it had been so long remembering things like that had become difficult.
Nevertheless, Harry felt comforted by her song and would make a point to ask her what it was next time he saw her again.
When she was finished she conjured flowers for his grave, lilies of course, and apparated away.

Space Shuttle Challenger rollout ceremony at Rockwell International's Palmdale Facility.
Date: June 30, 1982
Tumblr media
"Commander Paul J. Weitz (far right) and the other NASA astronauts who will fly the new space shuttle Challenger — from left, Dr. Story Musgrave, pilot Karol J. Bobko and mission specialist Donald H. Peterson — attend turnover ceremonies, at Rockwell International's final assembly site in Palmdale, Calif."

"She is named after HMS Challenger, a British corvette that was the command ship for the Challenger Expedition, a pioneering global marine research expedition undertaken from 1872 through 1876. The Apollo 17 Lunar Module, which landed on the Moon in 1972, was also named Challenger."
-Information from Wikipedia: link, link
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
She was built as Static Test Article 099 (STA-099) and was a prototype of the light weight orbiter (OV-103 to OV-105). It underwent vibration tests designed to simulate entire shuttle flights, from launch to landing. When it was determined the design changes learned from STA-099, the Construction of Columbia and the Approach and landing tests meant the Enterprise (OV-101) would be expensive to refit into an operational orbiter. It requires a complete tear down and rebuild to bring it up to the latest design specs and delay the completion of Discovery and Atlantis by 12 months. It was found it would be cheaper to refit STA-099 and only delay the completion of the other two orbiters by 6 months.
Lessons learned from the first flight of Columbia (OV-102) led to her being 2,200 pounds (1,000 kilograms) lighter than Columbia, although still she was 5,700 pounds (2,600 kilograms) heavier than her sister Discovery (OV-103). Upon completion, She possessed fewer thermal protection system tiles and carry 2,500 lb (1,100 kg) more payload than Columbia.
Construction date milestones (STA-099):

During Which Months Did Persona 1 And 2 Duology Take Place?
It’s well known among fans of the series that the later entries take place during an entire school year, however the same can’t be said about the earlier games. The only confirmed information about the time frame that P1 and P2 occur is the year, but dialogue present in these entries and the characters’ birthdays allow us to stipulate a more precise date of when they took place.
Before starting, it’s important to be aware of how the school year in Japan is divided (I’m not Japanese and all the information I got is from the internet. So if you are more familiar with the system, feel free to correct me or to just talk more about it): The academic year in Japan starts from April and ends in March, having summer vacation in August (normally going from July 20 to August 31) and winter vacation in the end of December to the beginning of January (normally going from December 26 to around January 6).
-Obs: All of the dates that I have just mentioned are related to 2023/2024. I wasn’t able to find anything about it in 1996 or 1999. So take them with a grain of salt.
Persona 1:
List of the main cast birthdays + their ages:
April 09, 1979 - Yukino -  17
June 04, 1979 - Maki - 17
July 11, 1979 - Mark - 17
August 18, 1979 - Reiji - 17
September 21, 1979 - Eriko - 17
October 02, 1979 - Nanjo - 17
December 24, 1979 (it's a complete nonsense) - Protagonist IN THE MANGA - 17
January 01, 1980 - Brown - 16
March 03, 1980 - Ayase - 16
Analyzing the age of the characters, it can be assumed that the game takes place at the end of 1996 since Nanjo is already 17 when it occurs. However, the birthday date of the protagonist in manga, generates some inconsistencies: if taking this date into consideration, the game would take place between December 24, 1996 and December 26, 1996 - since, after that, the winter vacation starts. It could be hypothetically possible for the game to only last two days, however, considering that there are two routes and that most people believe that P1 happened during a whole week, I’m ignoring this date. With this, we can conclude that:
Persona 1 Probable Time Period: Between October 02, 1996 and December 26, 1996
Persona 2 Duology:
List of the main cast birthdays + their ages:
April 09, 1979 - Yukino - 20
February 14, 1982 - Jun - 17
May 04, 1982 - Lisa - 17
June 13, 1967 - Baofu - 32
July 04, 1976 - Maya - 23
July 27, 1981 - Tatsuya - 18
September 21, 1979 - Eriko (P2:EP) - 20
October 02, 1979 - Nanjo (P2:EP) - 20
November 15, 1982 - Eikichi - 16
November 30, 1974 - Ulala - 24
December 30, 1973 - Katsuya - 25
-Obs: If you want to know why I only used July 27, 1981 as Tatsuya’s birthday while ignoring August 21, 1981 (present in the SMT Wiki) as a possible date, there’s this post explaining it.
Let’s begin with Innocent Sin. Besides the age of cast, there’s another variable that needs to be taken into account: when the Grand Cross happened. In real life, this event occurred on August 18 1999 and, while, in Eternal Punishment, many NPCs mentioned that the Grand Cross had passed during the summer, we can’t be sure if it happened during this specific date due to one small thing: rumors becoming true. It could be very plausible that the Grand Cross in IS took place in a different time because it was influenced by rumors, while, in EP, the actual Grand Cross occurred as normal. That being said, I’m using August 18 1999 as the day that this event happened (only because I can’t even think of another date) since I don’t believe that the creators would change it.
Well, we found out the period of when the game ended so finding when it began should not be that difficult, right?... Oh, is August 18 during the summer vacation in Japan? And are there characters attending class both during the beginning as well the end of the game? Well… things just got a little bit more complicated.
In front of this adversity, I have two prepositions. The first one depends on the assumption that the summer vacation in Japan used to happen during a different time frame in 1999 than the one we have now. With that, we can guess that the game starts around July 27, 1981 since Tatsuya would already be 18. On the other hand, the second one regards the vacation period of 1999 as the same one as the one of now. In this hypothesis, we can guess that the game began some time before July 20 as well that the Kasugayama School Festival happened on the last day of class. Personally, I’m putting the latter just because the former’s time frame is also included in it. With this, we can conclude that:
P2:IS Probable Time Period: Between July 12, 1999 and August 18, 1999
Finally, we can get into Eternal Punishment! After the many contradictions present in Innocent Sin’s time frame (Nyarly would be proud), discovering when EP takes place is going to be way easier and this is only possible due to the main cast’s birthdays along with their dialogue.
First of all, it’s been confirmed by the creator that EP occurred some months after the Grand Cross, more specifically, during the autumn 1999. With that, we can take a closer look into one dialogue said by Nanjo in Parabellum a bit before going into Mt. Iwato: “Ms. Amamo, he is still a minor. I do not feel it wise to bring him to this kind of establishment… NO, I’m not being tense!”. For those unaware, the drinking age in Japan is 20 years old. Based on that, Nanjo becoming tense could be interpreted as him being nervous since he’s just recently turned 20. With that, it’s possible to presume that the game takes place after Nanjo’s birthday.
Another series of dialogue to take into consideration are of Ulala’s. During the entirety of the game, she is always stressing out that she’s turning 25 soon which indicates that her birthday has still not passed. With this, we can conclude that:
P2:EP Probable Time Period: Between October 02, 1999 and November 30, 1999
And now, we can say that this analysis is finished! Remember that this is only a personal theory of mine, done only because I couldn’t find any posts exploring the subject. Feel free to discuss your own opinions on the matter and to correct any errors I’ve made.
