it's so funny to me that caleb and veth really did just trade off the job of intensely pining for the other at like the halfway point of the campaign. like, imo, nott in the early days did not behave in any real romantic or even romance-adjacent ways toward him--I imagine it would be very hard to even think in that way when you hate what you look like so much, have such low self-esteem, and are actively lying about your entire past, including a secret husband. caleb, on the other hand, is kind of diving directly back into the sort of relationship he had with astrid and eadwulf. very close, very intimate, we-huddled-for-warmth-together-and-oops-it-led-to-something-else sort of thing. he is the one who expresses that he's fine with it if people think he and nott are romantically together when they're talking to keg. nott is the one who pushes back on that. he calls her his life partner. unknowingly, he compares his feelings for nott to nott's feelings for yeza. his behavior only really starts to change after he finds out about veth's husband because suddenly all of that other stuff is rendered inappropriate in retrospect. but even then he compliments her to yeza over dinner in the most awkward of ways, he admits to being jealous, he calls yeza "a lucky man" to have her, he stares at veth and yeza closed bedroom door for far too long, he creates an entire arcane tower with room for her family just so she'll stay with him. in general, his behavior is not, um, totally and completely platonic about it, you know?

like, veth's feelings for caleb are canonical and therefore indisputable in their existence, but caleb in the early days was not that dissimilar to how veth was acting near the end of the campaign. it really paints a picture of "right person, wrong time" in the way things just didn't line up for them. or, as veth would say: "in another world, maybe"

#i am actually thinking about this because my widobrave 2 poll had so many moments on it that caleb initiated #and i often see it remarked that people think widobrave is entirely one-sided and caleb only treats her as platonic or familial #which. my real answer is that it's just complicated and i don't think he'd ever admit to any romantic feelings being there #but i also. uh. i wouldn't call it platonic or familial. there is some holy fourth dimension that this relationship exists in istg #impossible to explain but it is NOT entirely platonic nor all that familial imo as it stands in canon #this is like. ONE piece of the meta I was trying to figure out how to phrase earlier today. bottom line of it was:#I don't think the caleb/veth romance is entirely one-sided but also it is so so complicated #their relationship changes SO many times. I absolutely adore how the show is laying out the grounds for their relationship and the journey they will take and how deep friends they are becoming. And the actors are doing so well portraying this too!

the thing about labru vs kabumisu is that both of them have the same core appeal to me, specifically from kabru's side of things: kabru being someone who is constantly agonizing about social rules and putting on the right mask, and meeting this Weird Fucking Guy who does not (cannot) care about all those things, and so kabru slowly allows himself to be more genuine. they're both such good relationships (whether you view them romantically or platonically), why must there be so much hostility between enjoyers of these ships?

You’ve been waiting for your mama for so long that coloring became so boring! “Miss Lyla, if your an AI can you tell me where my mama is please?” “I can try kid!” You smiled as she began looking for your mama, you’ve seen Miguel every so often asking if your hungry or thirsty..he’s sorta scary in your eyes as the dark room doesn’t help with his skull spider logo. He’s the same height as your dad so that made you less scared of him…sorta. “Okay kid, your mom is coming with some other people”

You nodded your head then started move your ankles in a circle motion at different times as your shoes were getting annoying so you then decided to just untie them to loosen them up. “Much better!..what to do is the question…” you made a ‘tch’ sound multiple times as you thought, steal from Miguel since in Hobie’s words ‘Big man don’t need it, he already got to much power’ or something like that, take a nap, or fix the little gizmo in your pocket…fixing the gizmo it is! You took the gizmo out and your double sided screwdriver (basically it can come out of the holder and it has a different screwdriver head on the other side). The gizmo is just a little robot fella named Gizmo.

Lyla watched as she secretly recorded it as she liked to see you happy. “There’s my girl!” “Mama!” You stopped and ran to hug your mama’s legs which you did! You then hugged Hobie which he hugged back then Gwen but you stopped at the new guy. “What’s your name? I like your outfit!” “Thanks! I’m Miles Morales!” You smiled and held your hand out to be nice. “Y/N Drew!” Miles shook your hand then looked at your mother then at you as he didn’t know what to say next. You looked around to see Pavitr as you missed your best friend.

“Where’s Pavy?” “Pavitr is busy but don’t worry, you two will see each other soon” “Yay!” You jumped a bit not paying attention to the conversation that’s currently happening between Miles and Miguel. “Don’t blame him! He had a bad teacher!” “Peter!” “Hey!” “You have a baby!” “I have a baby!” You smiled as you held Mayday as you two giggled, she then wanted to go to the wall so you walked to the wall and she started crawling on it. Miguel was say something in Spanish but you didn’t understand as you giggled seeing Mayday run or crawl away from her dad.

Jessica smiled as she knew you’ll be a great big sister with the way you take care of Mayday, your baby sibling will be so glad to have you as a big sister. Her and her husband always loved the way you ramble about how your going to protect and annoy your baby sibling as it seemed so adorable. Miguel looked over a bit to see you and Mayday playing together and laughing in joy.

He smiled a bit as it was a cute sight to see his daughter playing with a toddler. He knew Lyla was recording with the way she was squealing silently in joy so that no one payed attention to her. He wish he could take you home right now so you’ll be safe and far away from all these annoying assholes as you don’t need to be around all of these people as they’ll rot your brain.

Izzy Hands is the perfect example of what Neil Gaiman was trying to tell us with the season 2 finale.

Look at it objectively. We got a canonical queer love story as the centre of the show, with Ed and Stede's relationship now developing to new levels both emotionally and physically. And YET, everyone is focused like a hawk on the weird, desperate, pathetic mess of a person that is Izzy Hands and his dynamic with the crew (particularly Ed, Stede, and Lucius).

With how uneventful it would be for us fans if aziracrow got together so easily and effortlessly. How so many of us are focused on characters like Muriel and Beelzebub themselves more than the actual canonical new queer romance that we got. Because it was just so easy. There was no flavour for us to taste, no cooking for us to digest, no spark, no sprinkle. After all, at the end of the day, the show is entertainment and it's there for us to watch and love and have fun, and the fun part is the angst, the pining, the affection and the drama that has us rooting for the characters. When that is done and over with, what then?

Trigger Warnings: slight mentions of trauma bonding, slow but shaky friendships,

Ghost

☆ Simon as an ally is reliable, but Simon as a friend? He was a very interesting character

☆ He always loves to tell new jokes to those he tends to be closer to, often to their disdain because of how bad they were

☆ So when nobody else liked them, Simon would go to you and tell them to you because you thought they were laughably bad

☆ It helped Simon get closer to you as well and before you knew it, the two of you were friends

☆ The two of you would constantly exchange complex inside jokes to each other, often turning some heads because of how little it made sense to them

☆ And every single time Johnny asked about what you guys meant, you’d only tease him further

☆ Whenever you were in a terrible mood, Simon knew when to back off and not test you further, even at times going out of his way to calm and comfort you

☆ Gives you weird and specific nicknames; the man can’t really socialize in a way that isn’t mildly aggressive, what can you do?

☆ If you’re younger than him, he practically begs you not to be like him once you’re his age. Simon would rather die than have someone he was close to be just like him

☆ He’s the more mature one of you two in general though, always has to stop you from starting fights with people

☆ When Simon found out you were an artist, he teased you for how much you made sketches of him and the others

☆ You panicked slightly because you tried your best to hide that in sketches of wildlife, buildings, and other things you’d seen as you traveled the world

☆ Simon would compliment your art a lot however, often appreciating the work you did

☆ He’d also sneak up on you while you were sketching someone just for that little spook that made you mess up

☆ Obviously apologizes for it as well, and knows when to not say anything that might startle you and cause you to mess up

☆ He has also paid you money for a sketch of him you made that he really liked

König

♪ Despite his large stature, the Austrian man was a pretty chill and gentle guy

♪ König and you clicked when sent out on a mission after you joined Kortac, despite his anxiety slightly getting to him and him thinking you were gonna bully him

♪ Shared interest in sniping between the two of you is the reason why you two became friends so quickly

♪ König’s like the big brother between the two of you, whether you’re older or younger than him

♪ He worries about you whenever he doesn’t hear from you, when you get injured, and all that

♪ König is hellbent on getting revenge on whoever injured you too, he’s the scary dog friend confirmed

♪ Outside of working together however, he’s always the one to send you letters or come see you in person to hang out

♪ He prefers to hang out at either of your homes, but he doesn’t mind stepping out for something

♪ König’s anxiety slightly holds him back from engaging with the outside world, but having a friend with him makes him feel okay

♪ He’s definitely trauma dumped on you but that was when he came back from a mission so distraught it brought it out of him, and you were more than happy to comfort the giant and let him know he’s okay. You’re the soft comfort sibling to him

♪ When König found you one day making a painting while you were at home, he asked if he could watch you because the brush against the canvas was a really nice thing to see

♪ König’s asked a few times if you could help him draw something and has been happy ever since then

♪ He loves when he catches you sketching him too while out in the field and you’ve found the time to do so

♪ König loves posing for you as well, often incorporating some of his weapons and grenades. He also loves helping you with foreshortening and perspective

♪ Only trusts you with sketching his face, but it has to absolutely only be headshots

♪ Sometimes König falls asleep when he’s sitting next to you watching you sketch, as the pencil’s graphite against the paper relaxes him a bit
