Rex Lapis touches you like glass when he holds you for the first time. He's in awe of the tiny creature swaddled in cloth. He is overcome with sentiment when he sees you; he sees every moment of your childhood flash before his eyes. He sees every birthday and every loose tooth. And as you open your eyes for the first time he stares with more wonder than you do. It's like an entirely new colour has been created.

And that makes it all the more tragic when he remembers that he cannot keep you. Humans are social creatures and even though you are a demigod, he knows that it would be complicated and hurtful to steal you away from your mother when all he had done was love her for a night.

And so, Zhongli disappears from your life before you begin it, really.

But he does not forget you. He marks every event, observes every birthday through a window of jade, wills you the strength to keep growing.

You become more and more like him with each year, and he sees the people of Liyue begin to distance themselves from you. The friends you once had at school were now your jeerers. You were mocked for your differences, laughed at for your birthmarks, and looked at with caution for your inhuman strength.

There were times that Zhongli cried with you. You never understood why he wasn't there for you and it killed him when he couldn't explain it to you. He knew it hurt your mother too.

He liked the Rite of Descention most. It was the time he was closest to you. You and your mother were always at the front. There were times where he wanted to show himself to you.

Though you didn't know it at the time; he was looking after you. Every time you were worried he would solve it. All you had to do, your mother told you, was speak into the amber at your bedside. At first, you believed it to be a coping mechanism. But the older you got the stranger it became.

The longer he watched you grow the tireder he became of godhood. He much prefered the idea of being your father than to being an archon.

So he makes the choice, on your 18th birthday to give it up. He was no longer Morax. He was just Zhongli. An ordinary father to an ordinary daughter.

Once he is officially an ex-god, he wastes no time approaching you. Of course, he doesn't just spur the idea onto you. He doesn't even tell you. He just sort of becomes the father figure you missed out on. Whenever you're in trouble he's always there to help you or to advise you.

Though you never learn his true relation to you he essentially becomes your father. Zhongli knows you will never directly call him your father but this is enough.

Being with you and seeing you grow into the person you are now makes every sacrifice worth it.

He doesn't like that Fatui boy who seems so interested in you though.

Drunk!Syn Stuff

(I'm just picturing everyone at a party at Ramshackle or something. Obvs, everyone's at least old enough to drink in my writing and AUs. If no one will make Disney stuff for my demographic that isn't Marvel or other superhero stuff, I will)

- "YEAH! I love- what's your name again? Sorry, I don't want to get it wrong. Thank you. YEAH, I LOVE [Insert Name]!" *hugs the person* - I don't know why, but I'm envisioning this with Lilia or Malleus. This one happened when I got drunk at an arcade bar and a guy played games with our group, and I proceeded to say I loved him a lot for some reason

- If I'm too drunk to vocalize that moving me causes nausea, I have bitten people to try and get them to stop moving me because the world is spinning and I might hurl. So, yeah. Biting people while drunk, lmao - Anyone's a canidate really, but I'm picturing Floyd or Jade dealing with this. Maybe Jack or Leona (Though he'd probably just drop Syn). This was mostly a problem my first couple years of being able to legally drink cause I didn't know my limits very well. Still don't, especially if it's mixed drinks, but it's only happened three times

- Would definitely compliment everyone at least once. Would probably get into a compliment loop with Kalim where they kiss the top of his forehead or his nose at the end

- More physically inclined, i.e. Huggy, hand-holding, etc. Floyd probably fucking loves it - Would still respect boundaries if someone's not comfortable with something/find someone else who will let them hold their hand/play with their fingers. Will lean against people and toss their legs over the other persons if they're both sitting on a couch or something

- I feel like Ace/Deuce and Syn would get into drunken roughhousing because sometimes I'll playfully slap my friends arms/legs while drunk, and they definitely feel like the type to reciprocate

- Would definitely coo and tease if they saw that they flustered someone, but will playfully back down if the person is actually uncomfortable with it

- Hugs and platonic kisses for everyone. The longer they've known someone, the more affectionate, so Ace and Deuce probably get the nuzzling and kisses on the cheek/neck treatment. Maybe someone gets jealous, maybe they don't

- It's Kalim. Kalim would also want hugs and kisses because he's a human Golden Retriever and just loves love, he's not actually jealous, lmao

- Soft kiss on the top of everyone's head. If they're taller than Syn (almost everyone), they'll wait until the person is sitting or will ask them to bend down

- Will just find a spot to pass out in once their body says 'Nah, fam', even if it's just at a table with their forearms as pillows

- One hundred to zero real quick. One second very animated and talking, practically the next just passed out

- Will almost definitely not remember anything past the first few drinks and will be VERY embarrassed if you tell them everything they did

Breakable Lotus

A little bit lore of my lmk oc, Lian Cha also Ft. Jiang Xiao lu by @madammonkie

warning : mentions of verbal abuse and murder

cha is their surname so i will call them Lian

Lian comes from a family that generated from a long line of celestial servants, it’s not clear who’s the Cha family really serve but they serve anyone celestial and has enough power, like Lao tzu, Ao guang, the jade emperor, Kuan yin, Buddha and many more.

Lian’s father, Lan Cha (not to confuse with Lian) is very strict about this and always train Lian and his big brother, Xun Cha to be the “perfect” servant.

when Lian’s mother passed away Lan Cha became more strict and straight up verbally abusing Lian and Xun if they did anything “wrong”.

one night Xun has a big fight with their dad until their dad pick up his spear and stabbed Xun in the heart

well Xun didn’t straight up dead because he is immortal and grabbed a knife to defend himself and slashed Lan’s eyes resulting in Lan stabbed deeper into Xun’s heart and ultimately killing him

let me explain, yes Xun is immortal but the type of immortal who don’t age but can be killed if something does serious damage to his body, this also applies to Lian and Lan.

Lian who saw all of this clearly horrified and traumatized him, Lian run out of the windows and stumbled to Erlang who smells blood from Lian’s home

Lian explain everything to Erlang and Erlang quickly arrest Lan and take Lian in to be his student along side Nezha

so that’s how Nezha and Lian met, they both bond over shitty fathers

you might be asking since Lan is arrested why don’t Lian didn’t became an attendant ? the answer is.... because Lian likes Nezha (in a platonic way of course), and their sense of responsibility to be a some kind of servant, its just run in their blood

now it’s time for little funfacts about Lian

-> Lian is asexual demiromantic

-> Lian is sleep deprived number 2 after Nezha himself

-> this is cause by his anxiety and nightmares after the whole night accident thing, the only way to put him to sleep is warm blankets or platonically cuddling with Nezha or Xiao lu

-> scratch being in a brotherly relationship with nezha they are platonically married your honor

-> Lian sees Erlang as a father figure obv

-> often practicing archery to clear of his head or blow off some steam and by often i mean everyday

-> their head dress is actually is their bow gifted by Nezha

-> likes to gift Xiao lu little trinkets, such as a clear candy lotus, cookies, apple carving

-> love languange is gift gifting and physical touch (head pats, hugs, etc) platonic or romantic

-> very, very bitter towards Wukong cuz he hurt Nezha but tolerating him

Here have some Lloyd Headcanons

Also yes polyninja (Jay x Cole x Kai x Zane) is a thing in this and this specifically pre-movie Lloyd (so maybe I’m not a big fan of the new seasons the designs and lore change caught me off okay)

Even after all these years, he still has a mischievous streak and likes to occasionally catch the other ninja off guard and prank them (which he had gotten very good at thanks to Jay’s teaching)

People say he’s the leader of the ninja, the ninja say he’s the gremlin

Sometimes he can’t help but manically cackle when he laughs

Worst sleeper of the ninja, besides Jay. He’s a night owl and an early bird, so good luck trying to make him sleep more than 5 hours.

Electro pop, rock, My Chemical Romance and Marina and the Diamonds for days.

Gets very uncomfortable and awkward around his fans, especially the more…bolder ones.

You thought Cole had a sweet tooth? Wait until you meet him. The ninja are banned from half of Ninjago’s candy stores because of him.

On the ace-spectrum and either aromantic, demiromantic or panromantic

A good chunk of his clothes are hand-me-downs from the other ninja, some he just straight up stole without the other ninja knowing, the other half are from 3 AM emergency runs to the store for midnight snacks and he happened to find something that caught his interest

Because he’s a terrible sleeper, he can and will fall asleep anywhere if he’s not given anything to do. Leave him alone for more than 2 minutes? Boom, he’s running a free-death trial.

Sarcastic whenever the other ninja are fawning over each other.

*whenever one of the other ninja makes a joke that’s outdated* pfft. Millennials.

Skinny and gets cold very easily. You will find this boy in a sweatshirt in 80 degree weather.

Always carries a fidget cube with him wherever he goes (except on missions).

He has somewhat-fangs and will not hesitate to bite someone if needed (if they’re ever captured, the enemies first mistake was not gagging him).

Cat pupils

He likes cuddling (platonic obvs) with the other ninja and people have learned that if he falls asleep with you touching him somehow that he greatly trusts you and that you have been blessed.

He’s the shortest of the team around 5’ 4”

Because he’s the elemental master of energy his metabolism is extremely weird. Sometimes he’ll be able to eat twice as much as Cole does on the daily and gain no weight whatsoever, but other times he’ll have a few granola bars for a day and call it good.

Swears like a drunken sailor when none of the ninja are there to stop him

He can climb anything. He regularly goes out with Cole to mountain climb. Has no fear of heights whatsoever. One minute he’ll be on the ground the next he’s 50 feet above you.

Lloyd loves to ride in the shopping cart during late-night snack runs

His ears are a bit pointy

Sometimes he’ll put his hair up in a messy man-bun during training

Whatever you do, do not trust a word he says during April Fool’s Day

He likes getting spoiled but will never admit it

Sometimes he feels left out when the other ninja are cuddling but he doesn’t want to make it awkward for them and ask so he kind of just cuddles with a stuffed animal until they’re done

And yes he does have a stuffed animal he has multiple there’s a dark green snake, a brown ferret, a Mimikyu, an Eevee and they all have names

His favorite Eeveelution is either Umbreon or Slyveon he can’t decide.

He actually doesn’t wear green that much (it gets annoying and boring after wearing it constantly for missions) and when he does it’s either a dark forest green or a jade-camo color.

He likes the colors yellow and purple too

He loves lemon meringue and mint chip ice cream

Him using lipgloss and chapstick is a secret he’ll take to his grave

He smells faintly like a mix of evergreen, mint, vanilla and sugar.

Quotes John Mulaney (or whoever his Ninjago counterpart would be) on the daily and no one understands him and he suffers a little bit everytime time

He also quotes vines, which Kai and Jay will get so that makes the John-Mulaney quoting a bit more bearable

He loves stray cats. But birds are his enemy. Get birds away from him. Especially the white cockatoos with the crazy head feathers that puff out and scream.

He has plants he takes care off and gets very worried if he’s away for too long.

You do not want to see this man angry, and I mean actually angry, pissed off angry, he will instill the fear of God in you. He’ll go quiet, his eyes will turn red (they’re green when they’re not) and he’ll just stare at you. Then he’ll add you onto The List. Look, he isn’t evil, but if somehow he does turn evil…

Sometimes he’ll go to Hot Topic to treat himself

If the ninja want payback for some prank he pulled in them, all they have to do is mention is the bangs he had as a kid and he won’t mess with you for weeks.

(imma leave JJ’s reply as it is because well, that’s pretty much what I think)

But I do find that ships are the easiest way to establish a quick dynamic where we can really get into each character’s traumas and angst and interests and things, IDK. It always has an easy flow for me so I feel like if someone’s okay with shipping, I have a super easy time coming up with a story. But I feel that way about platonic ships too or any situation where I know what the dynamic we want is. ( Honestly, JJ? Same )

Instead of reblogging that post endlessly, thought I’d collect my replies here.

Is there anyone that Anakin hasn’t adopted yet? There is the Free Droid Network with Kaydee and friends, the nicer imperial officers and the OBV-Squad, Leia once she becomes a senator, and he is probably keeping an eye on Pooja as well. Now here is a young force-sensitive child, who desperately needs someone to help her learn how to be a person without alerting the Inquisitors. Guess it’s about time he adopted an actual child as well.

Ha ha yeah, I was just waiting for someone to comment about that lol. It’s true I once said I wasn’t going to write Mara in DAV, but three things happened to change that:

1. I promised @astudyinimagination a pick-me-up fic and I knew Sky really wanted a fic about Mara. So I was damn well gonna write one! (The moral here is that you should always make friends with your writers, because then we will happily write you things by request!)

2. I’d been thinking for a while that I needed to somehow address the question of what happened to a Force sensitive kid who was picked up by the Inquisitors before Anakin became a double agent.

3. I’ve said a couple of times that I’ve always liked the concept of Mara, but I’ve always hesitated to write her because I dislike and discard the vast majority of Expanded Universe material and I didn’t particularly want to deal with the inevitable hate I’d get if I wrote my own version of Mara, since she’d essentially be an OC. But eventually I just decided that I get enough hate for not using EU canon anyway, so I might as well just fully embrace my multiverse theory of Star Wars canon and do what I want.

So there you have it! :)

This is one of my favorite things about writing OT Anakin. Not that he can’t be a troll in PT AUs, too, but just...there’s a kind of settledness to his character in the OT, partly a result of everything he’s lived through but also partly just because of the fact that he’s older now. Though there’s also a bit of tragedy to the fact that he can and absolutely does carry off the Mysterious Old Wizard trope in a fic in which he is (although Mara doesn’t know it) only 32 years old.

Thanks! I’m not so much worried about Legends canon, though, since I never am lol. I’m more worried about people who do like and care about Legends being unhappy with the ways I’m...basically beating up the EU in a back alley and rifling through its pockets for loose change. But you make a good point about this take actually kind of working as a rebooted Mara!

I mean, tbqh I actually don’t think the Inquisitors fit in with film canon at all. But I’m working on the multiverse theory here, and they do work really well with the story I’m telling in DAV, so I’ve basically borrowed them from Filoni ‘verse and created my own canon. So I suppose borrowing Mara isn’t a step much further.

Yeah, that bare bones essential aspect of her character arc is why I’ve always really liked the idea of Mara Jade - she basically hits all of my trope buttons. And the themes of her story when distilled like that are a perfect fit with the themes of DAV.

Also I’m delighted that you recognize Filoni ‘verse as EU because it absolutely is!

Thank you! I’m having fun exploring their relationship, though because it’s me and this story seems to keep growing, it may be a while before I have it finished. I’m kind of envisioning it as a side story to the main DAV storyline. It’s going to span pretty much the entire timeline, almost from the beginning of Anakin’s double agent career all the way to the death of the Emperor, but Mara’s story line is really running in parallel with the rest, rather than intertwining.

In all seriousness, though, I’m delighted to see people getting excited about genfic! I still remember the days in fandom when writing genfic was like releasing words into the void.

Damaged people trapped in horrible circumstances and being insistently human to one another in spite of that is kind of my brand at this point, so I’m glad that’s holding up I guess.

I think basically everything Palpatine does in relation to Vader is a mindscrew on at least one level, but calling him the “Master of the Inquisitors” is definitely a master stroke on his part (if you’ll pardon the pun).

R - Which friendship/platonic relationship is your favorite in fandom?

Buddy, I live for platonic relationships, so this question is a jerk, but also, I’m fairly certain that my top three at the moment are Ronan & Blue (The Raven Cycle obvs), Alice & Will (Once Upon a Time in Wonderland), and Anakin & Ahsoka (Star Wars: Clone Wars). They’re the ones that make me cry through my tears, “They love each other!!!!” while also being concerned that people will misinterpret it as shippy, but no romo, my dudes.

E - Have you added anything cracky/hilarious to your fandom? If so, what?

Um, clearly my legacy of Morning Glories breadcanons. The height of humor and wit. Additionally, the ~200 words of Abraham/Gribbs that a total of five people have seen, but that’s like 100% of the people who still care about Morning Glories, so,

A - Ships that you currently like a lot. (They don’t have to be OTPs because not everyone has OTPs.) Friendships, pairings, threesomes, etc. are allowed.

Spideytorch really reared its horrible head this year!!!!! Like!!!!! I’m always Spideytorch but previously just in the way where I’d reread my favorite Traincat fic of the moment every two months, but then you and Phoebe had to get into Spideytorch too and now it’s just hell!!!!!

Alice & Will have been a nightmare because I’m rewatching OUATIW and they’re just a nightmare!!!!!

Sometimes I wish I liked S********l because there’s a lot of content, and I like Peter Parker, so it should be enjoyable, right? But also my taste is too good for that. I’m sure there are other ones. I don’t dislike Luke Cage/Claire Temple, but I begin to shriek whenever I consider the possibility of Luke and Jessica not being endgame, so,

I wish I liked any Star Wars ship.

K - What character has your favorite development arc/the best development arc?

YELLS ANYA (BtVS), WESLEY (Angel), ZUKO (A:tLA), TOPHER (Dollhouse), ROXAS (Kingdom Hearts 2), GWEN (Torchwood), EVERY CHARACTER FROM RTD DOCTOR WHO, HOLY SHIT. MAYBE KAREN PAGE FROM NETFLIX DAREDEVIL BUT LIKE SHE STARTS AMAZING AND JUST GETS AMAZING-ER SO IDK IF THAT’S A REAL ARC. God, Jessica Jones, as well, especially in the comics??? The one that probably takes the cake, though, honestly, is J. Jonah Jameson from Ultimate Spider-Man because his evolution is so unexpected and untraditional yet perfect I love him

Magnus and Alec kiss, Noora wears the good clothes and Isak and Evan(?) kiss a lot, the girls in Age of Youth are in love and one needs to break up with her boyfriend and possibly somebody is a ghost and possibly somebody is a hooker, Steven Universe has space moms who are also rocks, I’ve actually never read a Daken comic in my life, the brothers in Demon’s Lexicon love each other very much, Bokjoo and Joonhyung(?) are husbands, in Fire Emblem: Fates you have to blow on your spouse, Stephanie Brown is extremely good, as are all the bat children, Solanin is by Inio Asano, Transformers are gay, Hiei is short and sad and fire and in love with Kurama, who is a completely different character from Kuwabara. That’s everything I know about everything.
