man. batdr archives. what

i hate them

sorry im gonna go full on hater mode here because oh my god? oh my god

i’ve got a sneaking suspicion that this came out now as damage control for the AI thing because 1. it wasn’t included in the game all along like BATIM’s archives were and 2. this tweet

like was it thrown together in such a rush that they forgot a whole ass character?

or it is a joke and was a planned action half a year after the game came out but eh who knows

either way this is not what i’m here to rant about (cuz im sure this is gonna turn to a rant)

it’s about bad writing, bad exposition and bad game design. buckle up!

i see what they mean with the smile being a challenge to create, you can see in countless animations for fansongs how different artists tackled that and for one i think they did that very well

however. why the clothes exactly? is it just a meta reason with no reasoning in-universe whatsoever?

and look i’m not a fan of the ink demon having a voice (though i respect the craft behind it, the voice actor is very talented, it’s just a personal preference) BUT if you made the ink demon talk you should by logical extension either make toon bendy talk as well or explain why the hell he’s talking? i can see it being distracting but there are characters that have squeaky annoying voices in games and they’re fine (and it’s not like toon bendy is around the player for a super long time)

i dunno what logic this whole thing operates on anymore but if joey commissioned the ink machine then it should be his and arch gate got all his shit after he passed away so idk what retrieve is supposed to mean here

but it could just be badly written sentences and the archive is full of those (once again making me think that the thing was done in a rush)

yall did make him look like a generic demon tho

i mean... it could be worse? if the goal was to make him look out of place then it was achieved but idk if it’s actually a good thing

i do like the bit about Wilson influencing how things look under him being in control of the cycle (though they have a very silly definition about what the cycle is but more about that later)

dude. the beast bendy design was already bad in BATIM and they made it even worse in BATDR like what TToTT

its just an angry mountain of muscles, the batim design at least had that leg injury thing going on which made moving with front arms make more sense, this dude right here is just a big inky gorilla (and not in a good way)

playing as the final form in on itself isnt a bad idea, does sound quite fun, personally tho i did not enjoy the very ending on the game

i dunno it just felt weird and all the other characters randomly appearing and the lost ones attacking being so awkward and ink demon acting as if they could kill you... nah man i wasn’t feeling it

okay so lets get this straight

cycle = a series of events that repeat

breaking the cycle would mean doing something different and stopping the cycle from continuing (so what... wilson was doing actually)

saying that making it restart again is what breaking it means is just??? no?

“satisfying face reveal” welp. each to their own XD

i see their purpose theme and thats neat and all but man do i hate how henry in this game is just. there and how some stranger is the person helping him get out of his horrible fate like its sooooooo unsatisfying

yeah she got more personality ill give her that

but she’s not a beacon of hope. she’s a beacon of tearing away the satisfaction of defeating a villain that we as the player worked hard towards

and uh... isn’t getting thrown into a horrible dimension full of monsters that audrey isn’t familiar with and is supposed to be freaked out about a bad moment to introduce a familiar face? like from a writing perspective, because it happens nearly instantly as chapter one starts

shouldn’t audrey be unmotivated then and struggling to figure out the world on her own? the player should also be haunted at this world, like it’s a horror game bestie ! don’t make me comfortable

well glad to hear the confirmation on that batds is happening in pararel to batdr

but his involvement in the main story is honestly such a nothing burger

is he there just so you can put batdr on the “can you pet the dog” site?

oh ok so what you’re basically putting down here is that he’s a boring perfect extremely rich guy, wasn’t even a bad father, completely stripping wilson’s arc of depth, cool, was afraid there would be something of substance powering the backbone of the plot of this game

and saying that both joey and wilson are worse people because theyre cringefail at business XDDDDDDDDDDD

ok here is something that im glad they addressed because ive been wondering about it - how audrey forgot that joey was her dad and how did she end up working at arch gate then

i suppose it implies that there’s something we might still learn/theorize about it, like for example if it was the machine drawing her in or gent wanting to get the machine back and manipulating things into place from behind the scenes

i really wonder how you can enter in and out the ink realm unnaturally but good to mention why he looks like that if he’s supposed to be nathan’s son

you cant just say that a character was important to the story, its not gonna happen from words

how is she important exactly? she just talks and uh.. helps audrey make the drink that makes you fall asleep? man that section of the game was Weird

i do want to like her, she seems nice and there could be interesting things to her backstory but as for the plot she really didn’t do much, sorry, betty

if you wanna say that pushing the plot forward by giving audrey that drink and then alice appearing outta nowhere and kidnapping here is a good big contribution then idk what to tell you... its such a bad way to make the plot progress, it was so confusing because characters were behaving as in forced to do Things to Progress the Plot (especially Audrey drinking that thing at all like seriously girl?? and Alice appearing comically at the last sip like wooooooow are you for real)

ah. so they were attempting a redemption arc

this sucks man! what did joey help correct exactly? created more ink people to suffer eternally? wow, dude, thanks

also lmao what learned from his mistakes, did you HEAR his dialogue at the end of batim?? (an audrey can be heard right after that scene as well so isnt his whole change of heart supposed to be happening around here + allison has already been added to the squad)

it’s just... it’s just such bullshit man

you can make us like joey as a character but don’t you fucking dare make us like him as a person

i dont know why this story needed a fresh pair of eyes because the story is that audrey is joeys daughter and that wilson is nathan archs son and that bendy is bendy. wow so deep so dark and complicated!!!!!!!11!!111

also whats the point of fresh eyes if you welcome us with familiar faces?

also sorry to break this to you but its not hard to stand out from the kinda cast that is presented to us in this game. sorry i cant decide if i care more about audrey or random employee number 24 with a random problem that i have 0 reason or time to get attached to. i seriously cant decide

i wish we learned more about the pit because it sounds quite interesting and we were working hard towards getting there and finally didnt get to see it at all (a shame! very unrewarding to the player)

i dont know what theyre on about carley, she doesnt really look like that to me and ive looked at her model in the archives, in the files and at peoples renders of her and i just dont see it

and the unlikely ally thing is just so bland like yeah he’s there, we know nothing about him aside from that he eats hearts, incredibly charming fella

not thrilled by his design either but that issue i already had with the first trailer but i guess they just sticked with that

bendy devs not use mental illnesses as derogatory terms challenge

i like the crab boy design, he’s sillay

so yeah not. happy with the archives

sorry if im like overly negative but ive honestly tried to give this sequel (because despite what they were saying it IS undoubtedly a sequel) my best assumptions and it turns out its nearly all the worst assumptions

its annoying, im annoyed

they should hire a writer to help them get this mess together, maybe get adrienne in on it, i dunno, because clearly if they need to be specific and not leaving things open like in batim, then they arent managing very well

rp pet peeves / dealbreakers: uhhh don't treat our rp stuff like we're in a dedicated 8 year long relationship or something because i do not take this website seriously whatsoever. also dupes who take out their dupe anxiety on/around me is the worst thing ever... especially bc i love dupes so so bad but ive had a long string of them starting shit w/ my friends just cuz they were jealous of something. we're alll just a bunch of nerds writing collaborative fanfiction its not that deep.

fluff, angst, or smut: i like all three! preference for fluff and angst but i'll plot out smut. never really wrote much of it myself but i'm open to that depending on the occasion. if i had to choose one i guess angst cuz im the best at writing that but i get bored of just one thing all the time.

plots or memes: memes because my attention span is garbage and im sadly too busy to full on plot with people. i do loooovee plots but its also kinda difficult since it has a lot to do with if you and the other person vibe or not u_u would love to plot more tho

long or short replies: i'll be honest. i love long so bad but it takes forever to write so i prefer like 70% short stuff and 30% long stuff. i don't like dialogue for more than goofing around. short for me is like 2-4 paragraphs and long is 5+, for reference.

best time to write: when my mentally ill brain allows me to focus/fixate long enough to do so AND im not being bombarded w/ ppl needing my help or job stuff. the woes of being a techy...

I have a very happy personality tho and laugh at so much its ridiculous yet im diagnosed with multiple mental disorders. im really lazy and hate even standing for more than 5 mins mainly cuz my whole body always hurts tho lmao. im quite introverted and unless i HAVE to i hate going out and meeting new people. i isolate myself a lot if i get even slightly mad or sad. i have a lot of self-destructive habits and just dont work on them lmao. i talk a lot about things i like. i have bad trust and attachment issues yet i dont completely trust anyone due to past issues. a lot of people ik say im someone very trustworthy since i can keep secrets and know how to stay loyal and help people when they need to vent. im very blunt to the point it has ruined relationships. i try to watch my speaking due to having grown up in an environment where if i said anything wrong id be screamed at or beat so i tend not to say a lot of things im thinking despite being blunt. i can barely speak up for myself if someone is mad at me for fear of them hating me or leaving me, to the point if i stand up for myself i start crying and shaking and have to leave the room. i have really bad issues with self-harm. i have a very short attention span and get distracted super easy t the point i can barely read properly lmao. im really hypersexual at times and then sex repulsed at other times. i have an obsessive personality and if i find anything i like i surround myself with it as much as i can and if not, im daydreaming abt it. i have a thing for correcting people abt anything ik a lot about. i have a thing for loving anyone, whether real or fake, that's usually unliked whether its for being weird, scary, or ugly in any form. so basically i love the unloveable cuz i understand them. i cuss a l o t lmao. im very clumsy and jumpy at all times lmao i get hurt a lot, randoms bruises everywhere. i find comfort in my depression so i dont plan on getting better but im not suicidal. im the type of person to be like "huh?" even tho i heard you loud and clear.

insecurities: my body. i'm overweight for my height and have really defined curves so i get oversexualized a lot so i hate my body, plus my scars do n o t help. ive been told my whole life by my grandma and my cousins that im only good for my body so yeah. the way i get obsessed with things and people so easily. the fact im very poor and currently am homeless along with my parents lmao. the way i look for bad in anyone i like becuz i dont want to let myself love ever again. how i dont want to get better at all, i just wanna stew in my shit lmaoooo. the way i eat really unhealthily. how when i would cry as a child my family would say i was being dramatic so now when i need to cry i gaslight myself into thinking im being cringe. the way i try to seem a bit cooler than i am in front of people online. my impulsive lying (im working on it with my therapist tho so i barely do anymore compared to before). My taste in people. my fashion sense cuz of my mom. the way im agnostic now since i grew up religious. my darker interests. my boyish personality. how i cant keep anything around me clean for more than two days.

hmm fries definitely. i love salt, and i love me some salty fries with fry sauce or ketchup mmm. im a simple lady

though thats partially because im not super into like. mashed potatoes and baked potatoes. because of the texture. i dont usually dislike food cuz of taste, usually texture. and potatoes are like. that weird. grainy starchy texture but its somehow Soft and Mushy and *shivers* don't like it. however, i am amenable to cheesy mashed potatoes.

13. first thing you’re doing in the purge?

HMMMM. honestly i have too much chronic fatigue and lil chronic pain and i dont exercise so im very sure i would not be able to defend myself in any purge scenario. so i'd probably just stay at home and play video games. having made sure no one could get into my home KSJFGHSFG

29. preferred pasta noodle?

i grew up incredibly poor so i dont really have a. refined pallete, perse. i never understood pros and cons of noodles or why some people love one over the other. i grew up on a classic american poor meal staple of chicken and rice and frozen veggies(or shit like hamburger helper, ramen, canned soups, etc). or, a staple among most of the people i've known anyways

BUT. i guess if i have to choooooose. i like shell pasta. shape is interesting. its in velveeta mac and cheese which is my favorite bc it means i dont have to buy milk in order to make some and have it go bad bc i forgot about it. also its easy to Slorp. just swallow the pasta whole babeyyyy.

and it is also Small, while still being thick with substance bc of the rolled shape. so its easy to eat. not tryna like. make sure i get the whole noodle in my mouth and then make a mess or something. and i can eat it with a spoon!! i prefer to eat stuff with spoons unless its meat or pasta that needs fork. just easier

I'm 4'11 with super dark brown eyes and hair and a baby face; most people always think I'm much younger than I actually am (I'm 20, but just look like a forever teen I guess) I've got dreadlocks that go a little past mid back, freckles, beauty marks and light patches all over my body (not sure if its vitiligo or not), and I wear prescription sports goggles instead of normal glasses since the straps make me less likely to lose them, and Im accidentally rough on stuff sometimes

I've got a metric shit-ton of mental illness, so my mental state is Wack™, tho I'll point out my ADHD and Autism since those are my most prominent. Paradoxical is the best word to describe me cuz I can range from feral gremlin memelord to so-quiet-you-forget-Im-there (I accidentally scare people alot cuz of this). Relatively apathetic emotionally, and I can sometimes struggle with social cues, I'm also very childish, hyperactive and immature, and can be blunt and straight forward with my words. I have a trash sense of humor (I'll basically laugh at anything), tho I do enjoy dark, self-deprecating, and/or inappropriate jokes the most. Since most people see me as "ignorant baby", I like fucking with them by just saying the weirdest shit or casually cursing because I can. Honestly, the amount of memes, shitposts, and copypastas that I've memorized just for the sake of a joke, is amazing.

I'm academically smart to a degree, with a leaning towards the sciences, maths, and engineering. Mostly a big psychology and astronomy nerd and really big into art. I've gotta bunch of sketchbooks and folders full of drawings, (mostly character designs), from over the years and too many damn color pencils (that I will continue to add on too, because fuck yeah colors). I'm really into transformers, comics, anime, video games, and true crime. I like to lift weights and have questionable eating habits (forgetting to eat is a problem of mine so I always have snacks on me, and I tend to eat things I really shouldnt; Ex. Chalk) and basically eat like a famine survivor when it comes to food. I practically inhale my food and I tend to get aggressive if someone tries to interact with me while I'm eating or cooking. All and all tho, I'm mostly here to vibe and just live in the moment.

I have a lot of cat-like habits and tend to headbutt, rub up against, and bite and/or lick people who I like; walk on my toes alot; and prefer small spaces over wide open ones. I'm also really flexible, so it's not odd to causally find me weird ass positions. Gets the nyoomies randomly and struggles with volume control (not helped by me being slightly hard at hearing), so I'll usually pace around while talking and making random noises (echolocalia basically, and I'll mostly beep, meow, trill, make Kirby noises "poyo!", etc.,), and also hand flappy! I also like to sing to myself and have a really great range (mostly on the higher end of the spectrum), as well as decent voice acting capabilities! I mirror things alot, so if I interact with someone long enough, I'll subconsciously start mimicking them and their habits (mostly verbal quirks and accents, but physical quirks too sometimes). Very much prefer hot and humid weather and get real tried/hibernate when it gets colder. For that reason, I've got a huge nest of soft blankets, pillows, and stuffed animals.

putting under cut cuz it’s kinda long~

hl1 - indifferent, bordering on dislike. i can’t stand older games because the gameplay and quality frustrates me. i played the whole game in gmod (thank u to the person who made the resized maps addon) in order to keep the frustration to a minimum, but i can’t think of much that stood out to me about the game :(

opposing force - second favorite game! i despised fighting the military in the other games because im Bad At Games and they always killed me, so it was nice not having to worry about them so much in this one. the alien designs were cool and i LOVE adrian and the way he just...*clenches fist*...pets bugs.....boss fight sucked tho and the game still kinda got the same problems as all old games. altho the ending felt..really sad. not sure if it was supposed to just end on a black screen til you closed the game yourself but it did for me and somehow that just made it even sadder knowing that my boy is just trapped in purgatory indefinitely until gman/valve finds a use for him (if they ever do)..

decay - fun friend times! unfortunately me not processing plot points goes double for this game bc i can’t focus on that stuff when friends are around but i really like colette! she seems like a really fun character and i wish there were more voice lines from them cuz the few that i could find of hers were Extremely Good. love that woman and the way she just.....*clenches fist*.....*cackles maniacally*

hl2+episodes (grouping them together bc i don’t remember enough about them for it to be worth listing separately) - altho it still isn’t quite my type of game (i prefer open world/exploration and/or LOTS of npc interaction), it certainly is a step up from the older ones in the series in terms of gameplay, graphics, and character development. i don’t remember much past kleiner’s lab - usually when i try to replay it, the moment it throws me into combat im like “hm! i think that’s enough for today :)” - but i do have good feelings towards the whole beginning section bc of how much time me n my bffsie spent fucking around with those scenes in gmod. after that..not much i remember in detail (im sorryyy i only played through them once and i have bad memory + trouble processing what’s happening until the second playthrough), but i can say 1) i adored the antlion battle in ep 2 and played through that section multiple times just for funsies, 2) fuck the strider battle, 3) hunters. are so. fucking. cool.

alyx - aaaaaaa!!! the graphics!!!!!!!! the animation!!!!!!! the environment interaction!!!!! i want to play it!!!! tbh alyx was never really my type of character, but i love hearing her interactions with the other npcs and the dialogue is terrific (LOVE that vortigaunt dude). i’ve watched the first few parts of wayne’s playthru but i kept getting sidetracked so i’ve yet to finish it, but i like what i’ve seen so far :) i do wish more of the environment interaction from the first room(s) had carried throughout the rest of the game, but i can easily see why they didn’t. i just like vr games that allow you to play with ur surroundings (like job simulator) and the combat tends to blend together after a while so i don’t find those parts as interesting.

black mesa - yes!!!!!! favorite game!!!!!1! 10/10!!!!!!!!!! this is the only game in the series that i actively like and would want to replay multiple times. i know it’s technically fanmade but honestly it fixed p much everything that frustrated me about the original game and made it even better. i spent like more than an hour in the starting area just playing with every little thing and talking to all the npcs and i love how much more fleshed out they feel. PLUS!!!!! XEN!!!!!!! HOOOOOLY SHIT!!!!!! it’s SOOO much nicer in this game than the disgusting cheese blocks in og xen..gfuck. i would LOVE to just have a stand alone game that allows me to freely explore bm!xen because it’s so!!! gorgeous!! the puzzles were so much more fun and the environmental storytelling + atmosphere was so much better, and i loved that there was so much variety in the types of environments within xen. it feels like an actual planet with its own unique ecosystems and it looks beautiful. i kinda wish they had kept more true to the feel of the og nihilanth design, but the final boss fight is so much better, i love not having to wander around aimlessly bc the game fails to properly indicate what it is im supposed to do.

Okay its seems that I was looking down the dash and happened to glance at a friend of mine’s blog where me and Akira were receiving hate mail? Okay since we are all seem to be in middle school/ high school still lets go with the obvious thing? What the fuck do you have against us? Seriously this kind of crap discourages people from interacting or even wanting to be on tumblr. I luv duplicates and it sucks that me and the mun are being singled out in this. No one deserves such crap like this. Even the asshole anons who are too afraid to show themselves that is unless you continue to harass people. You think I don’t feel worthy being here? Sure its true I don’t. I know I am not the best Gajeel here okay, I am aware and neither have it thought I ever was. But I dont’ think its fair to put another Gajeel mun in this spot at all, especially one who has been real nice and I am so fucking glad he is back. Lets see let me think why people don’t like me.... Okay so I post in anime icons and not write small print perhaps? Sure I could do that, but I wear contacts or sometime glasses so yeah very sensitive to the eyes. I like anime icons its easier with expressions. I don’t have time to go through the chapters and icon every gajeel manga icon. But if I have users that prefer I use manga icons then they can tell me, but I doubt it cuz not one person I have interacted with has had a problem with me using anime icons.

I portray my Gajeel as anime and manga and even include Fairy Tail Gaiden Rhodonite perhaps? Sorry, but I see him more as a villain and not like one who hangs around Fairy Tail. I just don’t understand how someone so evil can be accepted into a guild that he trashed. I know all about that fake facade and real reason why he was forced to join due to Makarov. However, I always thought Gajeel was a basic fit for Oracion Seis I just see him more in it than Fairy Tail . I had a verse like this along time ago and I got attacked for it so I kept it hidden through rping and not put in the verses.

In reality Oracion Seis/Crime Sorceire muns are a lot nicer than most actual fairy tail muns. I notice it so yeah I interact with them more. . I’ve seen mean Natsus, Wendys, and two Laxus muns. And if they aren’t mean to me they have been to my followers and I have even comforted my followers when this shit happens.

Another reason people may not like me could be cuz I ship certain characters that people may not like. like Cojeel maybe? I can name 50 things these two have in common, but I digress on it. I don’t give a shit, I have known people to like these certain characters paired together and they have never given a damn before. Just because I interact with Cobras doesn’t mean I am shipping with all of them. there may be a few, but its not everyone of them. I luv Cobra and Gajeel interactions regardless if they are/ or become friendship, bro, enemy, rival, etc. Just stop hating if I rp with any of them. I like bonds and I luv the Oracion Seis/Crime Sorceire and I interact with them as well when I can. I luv interactions with any other muses regardless, someday some muses can be friends or whatever, but its true I want bonds with my muse as he feels so lonely at times.

I hardly ship with anyone due to bad experiences on my Bleach blogs. So that is why I don’t go to anyone and people come to me if they are interested. So if this makes me a bad person then I am not sorry. I have always been nice to everyone here and i just don’t understand the hate. I been told I am too nice. Perhaps I am, but yeah I’m shy, but I’m trying to open up. Though i do wonder if some people going get mad also since I interact with Bleach muses too?
