Ganba (がんば) = A short version of “ganbatte,” meaning “do your best” or “good luck.”

Guguru (ググる) = To Google something.

Gyaru (ギャル) = A fashion-conscious young lady with tanned skin and long nails.

Honto (ほんと ) = Really or for real.

Ii kanji (いい感じ) = To have a good vibe or feeling about something.

JK = High school girl.

Kimoi (キモい) = Creepy or gross.

Kira kira (キラキラ) = Sparkling, cute, or beautiful.

Kireru (キレる) = To snap or lose your temper.

Maji (マジ) = Seriously or really.

Moteru (モテる) = To be popular or attractive.

Mukatsuku (むかつく) = To be irritated.

Nampa (ナンパ) = To chat or pick someone up.

Sugoi (すごい) = Amazing or incredible.

Uzai (うざい) = Another word for annoying.

Wakannai (わかんない) = I don’t know.

Yabai (ヤバい) = Anything from “awesome” to “oh no.”

Russian Slang

Долбоеб (dolboyob_) = Fool, Idiot

Иди на хуй (idi na hui) = F*ck yourself

Сволочь (svo lach’) = Trash, Scum, Jerk

Жопа (zho pa) = Brat (typically used towards children)

Гавно (gav no) = Sh!t (used more when speaking to yourself rather than to insult someone)

лох (loh) = Stupid, Idiot, Sucker

Гандон (gan don) = Condom (Whilst calling someone a condom in English is just not a thing, it’s quite common in Russia. Used to refer to someone weak or just plain irritating)

Чушь собачья (chush’ sobach’ya) = Bullsh!tter

Malaysian Slang

Трахни тебя (trakhni tebya) = F*ck You

Ти дегхенераат (ti degheneraat) = You’re a degenerate

Отыебис от меныа! (otyebis ot menya!) = Move your ass / Get the f*ck away

чертовски дно (chertovski dno) = F*cking bottom (would be used when referring to hitting rock bottom.)

Bo jio = use when referring to friend who didn't invite them to a gathering (e.g. 'why you bo jio?)

Ýum cha = hang out over drinks or food at local coffee shops

belanja = I got you covered

Potong Stim = killjoy

Boss = waiters refer to their cusomters as boss, and customers call out for waiters using the same term!

Tapau/Bungkus = take-away

Ang Moh/Mat Salleh = "Western foreigners"

Kantoi = being cuaght red handed

Paiseh = shy or embarrased

Walao Eh! = brother

Macha = good friends (equivalent to "fam" in English)

Alamak! = shock, surprise, or frustration (punctuate with 'face palm' for dramatic effect)

Lah = This one really has no meaning, used to add "emphasis" and "flavor" to sentences. It is rather addictive...

Kawan baik = best friend

Jom = let's (inviting someone to do something together)

Best gila = crazy good, crazy fine (like "amazing!" in English)

Kantoi = busted

Fuyoh = WOW or OMG

Cincai = whatever

Italian Slang

Ma Dai = come on, imagine, stop it (express surprise, amazement)

Chi Se Ne Frega? = Who cares?

Scialla = stay calm

In Bocca Al Lupo = Good luck

Come Il Cacio Sui Maccheroni = like sheep's milk for the macaroni

Come Te La Passi = How is it going?

Trescare – Have a flirt

Camomillarsi – Calm down

Sbalconato – Be out of your mind

Incicognarsi – Get pregnant

Citofonarsi – Call someone by surname

Tirare tardi – To be late

Inciucio – Intrigue, a cheat, a mess

Un carnaio – Many people together in the same place

Abbioccarsi – falling asleep unexpectedly

Bordello – Problematic, confusing, and chaotic situation

Fottìo – Something that has happened or occurs in large quantities

Rosicare – To be envious of something

Tranqui – abbreviation of the word “calm,” it means to stay calm

Pisolino – An Italian slang word that means “afternoon nap”

Hindi Slang

Yaar = Friend, used at the end of sentences for casual social interactions (including shopkeepers/autorickshaw drivers)

Achcha = good/okay/really?

Thik Hain = okay (+ head nod)

Arre = hey (with a higher tone = surprise, lower tone = exasperation)

Bas = that's it

Chakkar = dizziness

Funda = fundamentals

Ghanta = Yeah right

Jugaad = hack

Bakwaas = nonsense

Chalega = That will do

新譜情報その１

2023年秋にリリース予定のアルバム制作は、収録曲が決まっていて、順調と言いたいところだったのですが、ここに来て、ひょっとしたら「差し替えか？」という案件に発展。最新の楽曲の出来が良くて、今回のアルバムに入れたいなと。しかし、削れる曲が、今のところ見当たらず、ちょっと困っています。他の曲とのバランスもあるしね～。アルバムタイトルは「crossroads」でほぼ決定かな？そして、ジャケットなどパッケージについては、ジャケ写の候補は数本あるものの、まだほとんど白紙状態です。

I wanted to say that the production of the album scheduled for release in the fall of 2023 was going well, as the songs to be included were decided, but now that I'm here, it's possible that the project has developed into a "replacement?" I've decided to go ahead and release the text list of artists and other media that Ugigiugi has traced from.

Please note that this is not a complete list.

These are the only sources people have found online and made comparisons on. These are also submissions people have DM'd me and things I investigated personally. Some items have have also been forward to me by others.

This list is subject to possible updates if people send in more proof! (traced image/source + name of the artist). Names and sources are subject to corrections if errors are discovered. (If there is an error, please let me know!)

news article summarizing the locked skull box stream puzzles that were released through the gaming news website den-fami nico game where the puzzle for the first lock refers to charles bonnet with the code to the first lock being 1720 - the year he was born.

the initial article was written as if someone sent them a letter to ask for help in finding someone and the staff decided to assist the sender.

"One day, a package arrived from an unknown sender addressed to the Denfami editorial department. Inside was a CD, a letter, a business card with "Ave Mujica" written on it, and an envelope.

"Please...I need your help.

I want to meet with ▒▒ again. It may be too late now.

I just want to do everything I can....

So please.

Please help spread this song.

If this song reaches the hearts of many people, I am sure it will bring us closer to ▒▒."

It is not certain whether Ave Mujica is a person, an organization, or something else. However, the name has been talked about in certain circles, and the Denfami editorial office was aware of it.

　On the other hand, is ▒▒ a person's name...? This is the only part I can't read. Whatever the case may be, the earnest feelings were conveyed, and the music on the CD certainly touched our hearts and minds.

　And when we saw the second letter, we immediately understood what the sender of this package wanted to do. Well, then, it makes sense that they have asked for cooperation from us.

　Although we are not certain what is happening to ▒▒, we, the editorial department of Denfami, have decided to cooperate with the sender."

the website was then updated as the stream went on to show hints for solving the different puzzles until the streamer obtained a usb containing the black birthday mv from the skull's mouth, and the mv was later uploaded to youtube and the first rika & luna story video a day later.

by the end of mujina carnival it becomes clear that the name that was left blank in the letter to denfami can either be rika, or luna.

Found an old Japanese blog!

*LONG POST!* Its not under a cut so that if i delete my blog this post can still be viewed originally!

Anyway, Ya the title is kinda vague but basically i was just looking around for Astro Boy art and stumbled onto someones old blogspot thing. Looking around and using the google translator i found that they documented some museum stuff when the 03 series was premiering!

Im going to go through in sections, there are only three pages i personally found interesting but obviously I'll link the entire thing on the bottom! ALSO! As I am writing this i promise that none of these links are scary or harming, I grew up on lawless internet back in the day and know that random links are risky so I have a sort of skepticism with links but these are safe and cutesy! I highly encourage looking around if u want to see the stuff i left out. BUT I do have one warning which i'll explain on the bottom with the final link.

The first page I personally found interesting is about the M-Flow video:

This music video! So according to this persons post It was actually a promotional video for the second half of the anime.

The next page i wanna show is their trip to the 2004 exhibit:

These are statues I believe. You can translate the body text yourself but basically they say, roughly, that this was more of a photo prohibited area bc they were showing of ACTUAL animation cells from the anime and also selling but they were allowed to take pictures of the objects! On the page there are pictures of the statues and text in the middle, i'll try to recreate that with two pictures and translation underneath.

And thats it!

The translation is from google so yeah some words will be off but you can get the general idea. Its just really cool stumbling onto someones old livejournal and seeing what kind of things they documented (in low quality...) or just things they like. I should say that i haven't fully researched these places or looked to see if these pictures are anywhere online in better quality but yeah! Old AB stuff that we wont get to see somewhat documented is rare and a treat.

And finally here is the last link to their Astro Boy page AND heres the warning: On the bottom theres a drawing of a shirtless anime lady. thats all. so bewear of boobie if u scroll down to look through more.

I dont have any final thoughts other than WISHING Astro, Tenmas, and Ochans character panels were somewhere online in better quality but i should apologize for the LONG POST.

Looking at Saiyuki made me remember that I want to repost my Saiyuki songs cover after I accidentally delete my blog. Translating Saiyuki songs are something I like to do in my free time. My Japanese is not that good but I did my best. Sorry if sometimes the translations aren't that accurate. Had to adjust things to match the song too. But all in all, I hope you can enjoy them!

Translation Notes

泥流 is the flow of lahar/volcanic mud when a volcano erupts and 跡形もなしや (written in hiragana as あとかたもなしや) is like "without leaving a trace", I thought saying literally saying left without a trace was too basic for such a powerful song, so I went with "poured into nothing" to maintain the original imagery and meaning.

Personal Commentary Nobody Asked For

Many lifetimes ago I ran the Jun Togawa Forever fansite with my friend Pat, he translated all of the songs and I did the website... stuff. Because of it, Pat got to meet Jun's manager and it was basically the thing that set me off onto wanting to study Japanese to begin with. The sadness I was experiencing at the time couldn't be expressed in my own language because I was barely fresh off being a teenager, and I was treated poorly by almost everyone around me. Real "nobody understands me" type shit. So, i'd listen to this song on repeat a lot and read my friend's translation, because it felt like somebody understood me.

The reason I stopped running the website, posting throwbacks and setlist updates etc was because I actually hated most of the English fans. Pat was working very hard at a critical time to translate information and whenever I had a question, I would ask. But people kept jumping to assumptions about what Jun's art was trying to convey. It sounds almost cliche, but the perspective of dudes with no knowlege of Japanese language or culture was dominating the discussion about a Japanese woman's work, stripping it of time, place and it's author. One person's self expression through art became a talking point for being anti-pop culture - because it was antithetical to the norm, that's all it could be, or that became the main focus. I hated how our work was just being consumed by people who's reaction was just "cool" or "thanks", and the voice behind the lyrics was stifled for the sake of making hamfisted commentary about pop culture, from a society and culture that the authors themselves had sparse knowlege of.

It is extremely petty. This was also before Suki Suki Daisuki blew up on Tiktok too. But, the phrase "anti idol" just screamed fake deep to me lol. Once I actually started speaking Japanese and explaining the perspective of non-Japanese people about things to Japanese people, they were mostly confused. BiS' producer also called it "fucking stupid." I think about deleting all of the translations sometimes out of spite.

I wanted to come back and translate this song myself because... fuck it, why not. I'm not in the same mindset as when this was the one thing keeping my head above water, but I did have some poor experiences with people at university recently. I thought about this song because it feels like it's fine for terrible things to be said and done to me, but everyone else is seemingly allowed to do whatever they want. Be it emotionally or sexually as a friend or as a coercer. But i've resigned myself from caring because hey, life goes on.

Disclaimer: English and Japanese is not our native language, so it's possible that we have writed and/or translated some things incorrectly. 🙇💦

Between May 6th to 11th on Lea's Twitter (and some of them much later on Lea's Instagram) we published several Simstagram posts (publications like Instagram in Sims version) made by SK8 characters, shown below.
