Ok interesting - on both Tumblr and Threads, Fantasy won!
However, the runner up on Threads was the Thriller/Mystery/Horror category, and here it was romance. Interesting to see the differences!
Seems to be a good thing my next book will be fantasy lol
ANOTHER BOOK POLL
This one, more for readers but, most writers are also avid readers so:

Ok so, I posted this both on Tumblr and on Threads, and it seems that the responses were pretty similar!!! I have learned about a lot of new softwares I hadn't heard of before. I personally use Scrivener and really love it so it was surprising to see how little responses this one got. (on both platforms)

❝THINGS SAID BETWEEN KISSES.❞
tag me when used! <3
Tumblr media
— "Do that again, please."
— "I missed the way you taste."
— "Don't start something you can't finish."
— "For someone who hates me, you're not pulling away."
— "There's no one like you, darling."
— "Is that a new lip balm?"
— "Don't act so shy now."
— "Tell me you love me too."
— "You look so pretty like this."
— "Can we keep doing this?"
— "Aren't you afraid of getting seen with me?"
— "Please, don't leave this time."
— "Are you sure about this?"
— "I'm sorry I can't love you the way you deserve."
— "Take me away, please."
— "I needed this, needed you."
— "I can't let you go."
— "Ask me to stop and I will."
— "My heart is all yours, love."
— "Your lips are all stained."

emotional/ hurt dialogue prompt
These dialogues are more appropriate to show the act of 'care' towards your character or open up the softer sides of your more 'rigid' characters.
"I'm not leaving you, MC."
"Show me where it hurts."
"Sometimes it's okay to cry, I promise."
"You are safe here...with me."
"I am going to take care of you, and you will let me."
"You look rather paler than usual, MC."
"I'm here- I'm here, just stay alive! Please!"
"It's fine, you can cry. I won't snitch."

Interview your characters
If you really want to get to know your characters, interview them.
Write out a series of questions (or used a pre-made set, like the Proust Questionnaire) and answer them in your character’s voice. They’ll soon start to develop unique personalities.

I am probably SUPER late to the club on this one lol but - DID YOU GUYS KNOW YOU CAN CHANGE THE APPEARANCE OF YOUR FOLDERS?
I was so tired of the aggressive blue folder defaults, and I googled if it was possible and was pleasantly surprised that it was.
I now have a whole bunch of different folders I can use. They are on my writing Etsy if anyone wants them. My favourite is definitely the green forest ones! I will be posting more things in the shop soon - mostly digital downloads of things I use to organize my laptop and writing process.

Writers: What part of writing do you dread the most?
Personally, it's editing/proofreading. I love writing anything and everything, but when it comes to re-reading my work and editing it.... I can't seem to find a way to enjoy it.
