The day James Potter fell in love.

It had rain the whole day. Not a warm summer rain but a cold stark rain. The clouds gray and despaired to cry.

Quidditch practice should have been that morning, but Frank canceled it because of the cold rain.

James did go anyways. He flew through the rain and shoot the quaffle at the the rings.

As he went back to the castle, he was soaking wet.

Water drops from his cloak and his hair. It was a good morning, though. It would have been brilliant if Marlene or Sirus or Frank or anyone from his friends would have been there to practice with him.

But it's fine. He will have a good day anyway! Just in an hour is breakfast!

He sees the black lake in the distance and then he reaches the big gates to hogwarts. Noone is out yet. Everything is quiet.

James loves those quiet mornings.

In a view windows he can see light and shadows. Students waking up, getting ready for breakfast, for the day.

His eyes catch one of the smaller towers near the entrance. And there he is.

He can barely see him through the rain.

He's reading. James never really noticed that he does that, though it kinda makes sense to him that he does.

James wonders what he's reading, and now he wonders why he want to know that? James isn't a big reader. Actually no, the only books he reads are for school and even them he doesn't read fully.

And still, he would like to know what he reads. Maybe ask him about his favorite character? Is it a romance book? Does he read romance? In james' mind he does.

The boy looks up from his book and down at the garden. He will not see James, why should he? But he looks anyway, and catches James' silhouette on the ground.

Does he even know that it's James?

He probably can't see him that good.

No he doesn't know. Why does James want him to know?

No. He doesn't.

The shadow on the tower shakes his head, James barely sees it. He looks down at his book again.

Wow

James really wants a hot shower now.
