Amen.
If you mourn the death of ancient languages but do not mourn the death of innocent black people, you need to reevaluate your priorities.
If the burning of the library of Alexandria or of Notre Dame brings you to tears but do not care about the fires started by desperate and grieving protesters demanding justice, you need to reevaluate your priorities.
It is okay to love and be passionate about things from the past, but we must also care about our present. 2020 will someday be history too. Don’t let yourself be on the wrong side of history. Don’t ignore the racial injustice that is all around us.

Intellectual and fun activities to partake in during lockdown.
One may think these activities dark academic, and if that is what you seek then this post should suit your needs adequately. Please do message me if you have any quiries or requests, I’d be happy to oblige.
Board games are an excellent way to maintain and train your brain, whilst having a bit of fun, too. Don't mind if I do! The following may tickle your fancy:
+chess (a personal favourite)
+ Any card games
+ Scrabble (a family competitive favourite)
+ Cluedo (who doesn't love a good, old murder mystery)
Listen to great classical composers through classic FM radio. This way you can get a tidbit of knowledge about what your listening to. I don't know if you can access this everywhere, therefore I will do another post shortly to outline some composers and compositions that I personally enjoy.
Try knitting, crochet, sewing or embroidery (if you have the patience, plus monograms are in!)
Teach yourself a new language at home. You can use apps like Duolingo or Babble. Youtube and books can be very helpful, too. I am currently learning French, however I would love to learn Latin, Greek, Italian and Russian. Let me know if you can speak French or are also learning it!
Watch documentaries!
+ Horrible Histories is a childhood classic if you ask me (maybe not awfully accurate, but fun none the less...)
+ Anything from National Geographic.
+ The Timeline- World History on YouTube is amazing.
You can also find great documentaries of Netflix or just normal television.
Listen to podcasts! I’m currently listening to ‘Lets Talk About Myths, Baby!’. All I can say is that it is extraordinary, and it says it all in the name. It’s about greek mythology, of course...
Plan what you’ll do after this godforsaken lockdown ends! For example, visiting the city (London, for me), see museums, art galleries etc.
And lastly, watch plays, Opera and classical concerts online.
+ Royal Opera House YouTube channel
+ National Theatre London’s YouTube
And, of course, read! Read books, poetry, prose, plays - I don’t care. Just read. Anything.
I conclude the ending of this post. I hope you can find an activity to suit you best. Oh, and by the way I'm actually a 16 year old girl from the UK, surprisingly not a 50 year old man considering my hobbies!
Ps. I’ll be back with more posts, so if you like this kind of thing, stick around maybe?
