#Okay I’ll say the name of this movie; it wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be (block if it disturbs you):#tusk (2014)#Forewarning you: It’s fucked up… but not as bad as TETSUO in my opinion. This one is at least lighthearted…#aside from the main actor’s gut-wrenching screams (good god)#body horror tw #At some point a movie becomes so disturbing that it reverses polarity and you can’t take it seriously #The directors knew this and used it to make a horror comedy film… that you can actually take seriously #It worked beautifully #You have this jerk who jokes about others’ trauma (including losing a leg and cultural genocide for instance)#And by the end of the film; he himself has lost both legs and has become the victim to cruel human experimentation #And when his jokester friends come to his aid; none of the people they ask for help take it seriously #And the whole thing started because this guy wanted to exploit the victim of a freak accident for views #for his horribly insensitively-named podcast #And he didn’t get help in time because he cheated on his girlfriend which caused her to cheat on him #which then caused her not to pick up the phone when he called for help until the next morning because she was with his costar #And help was delayed also because of the name of his podcast being an atrocity no one wanted a part of #ough… yes… haha… YES.#Play stupid games; win stupid prizes — The Movie #Wonderful #Glorious #whoever played the villain really made the movie… he was perfect #and I loved how they introduced the characters and their intentions by doing asides (is that the correct term?)#Clean work #AND by finding the movie (and the post-credits meta podcast banter) funny; you yourself are laughing at someone’s trauma #so the universe might pay YOU back

i need society to learn what improvised actually means

#an actor coming up with an idea in rehearsal and then the lighting and scene being set up and THEN shot #is not improvising #like IT WAS IMPROVISED THATS SO COOL and theyre talking about a moment with multiple camera angles and plotted movements and many takes #people were so rabid saying that HotD matt smith crown moment was improvised #like the thing they were watching was a moment of true inspiration caught on camera #people will see multiple camera angles and cuts and be like 'ah yes such spontaneity'#the thing brett Goldstein did in that ted lasso ep is also not really improvising #he talked about it off camera and they set up the shot HOW HARD IS THIS TO GRASP #if you cant tell it bugs me #people get like this about DiCaprio cutting his hand and bleeding in that film #as if they didnt call cut give him care and then add fake blood to continue the scene respectfully to his costar #as if it would be cool to get cut and bleed and then wipe your actual blood on your costars face #and not something you should be arrested for lmao #'created spontaneously without preparation' IF YOU HAVE AN IDEA AND THEN BLOCK THE SCENE THATS PREPARATION MMKAYYY #grinds my gears #you can say 'this was improvised in rehearsals and then prepared' but thats NOT what people mean when they say omg this was improvved #you can just tell they saw an article that said this was improvised and now fully believe the scene they watched was the spontaneous moment #id say like actual improvisation is a lot of the stuff in succession because they set so many cameras up and let the actors go for it #anywhom #I'll stop now 🤓

#fave spotting #alexandra bastedo #the champions #sharron macready #the adventurer #action!#itc #classic tv #character actors #the adventurer is a very dumb show‚ ok? in fact that's its saving grace #it's so dumb that it kind of cycles around and becomes charming for it #i mean Mr Gene Bradley‚ world's greatest secret agent and also most famous actor who ever lived who draws a crowd anywhere he goes?#it's absurd. as is the villain's plan this week‚ which is to strike a blow for peace by having Gene Bradley (film star) brainwashed into #assassinating a high ranking american general. who's in the country.. on peace talks? i think? it wasn't clear #or i switched off a little. i mean. it's just. dumb.#but yes lovely Alexandra is part of the deception and she gets to hang around and prod Gene into being a good brainwashee #alas no reunion with her former Champions costar Stuart Damon‚ who'd been fired by this point in production; speaking of which #in my fave spotted post for him i suggested maybe he was fired at Gene Barry's instigation. having now watched the interviews with Damon #and Adventurer costar Catherine Schell on the dvd set i feel confident in saying that is absolutely what happened: Schell backs Damon up #completely‚ supports his story that Barry had him fired bc he was so much taller‚ and also reveals various details about just what a dick #he was. it's honestly worse than i expected: Damon wasn't even told he was fired‚ just kept on contract for weeks as he watched various #guest actors turn up and fill his hastily rewritten part episode by episode. eventually a costume fitter let him know and he was allowed to #leave the production but not to do other work (still being under contract) and although he made some money from the experience it was so #crushing that he almost abandoned acting completely (luckily he later won his part on General Hospital that gave him job security for the #rest of his life). Schell was fired too incidentally‚ lasting longer than Damon‚ but Gene seems to have just hated sharing the limelight #with anyone and eventually had her taken off the series. even Barry Morse‚ a well known Very Nice Man‚ had nothing good to say about #Gene B.... which says a lot. yeesh.#oh but one minor bit of trivia while we're on the subject of assassinations (the ep remember?): for all his many faults as a tv show lead #Gene was also an astute political campaigner and supported the democrats throughout his life with contributions and personal appearances as #well as friendship and advice: he was particularly involved with Bobby Kennedy's campaign and was in fact present at his killing

I was thinking of live blogging, but to not overwhelm with posts, here is it: gmmtv's bl line-up for 2023 is currently giving us:

1. a forcebook office romance, which to me means: force. in. a. suit. that's really all I have to say about this lmao. also I hope it's funny

2. more joongdunk! hidden agenda with dunk trying to get joong's ex and getting him to teach what she likes.. a recipe for disaster. also it has the vice versa side (boom and aou) that I liked sosososo much so yay!! and pod being a beaut..

3. an offgun cooking romance?? I honestly thought they were dialing back on bl, but there they are... the true gmmtv pillar.. the audience going absolutely batshit insane, me too. also gun says 'i've liked it for quite a while' in the teaser and it got me giggling, kicking my feet, the whole shabam. once again, i really hope it's funny

4. jimmysea in something called 'last twilight'. money-troubled jimmy becomes an assistant to almost blind sea. It's like that one vietnamese series!! mostly, the poster looks melodramatic. lovely. directed by the p'aof though!!!! also; sea's fit in this event is crazy.

5. only friends with forcebook and firstkhao?? I didn't think forcebook was that impressive in enchanté to get 2 new titles immediately, but it does mean we're getting a series called 'only friends' with two pretty legendary actor friendships... it's looking very complicated and one big web of sex and feelings and all that shit-- in short, i can't fucking wait. the ost also sounds great already

we interrupt this message with: neo is confirmed in 2 of these 5 and all we're doing is waiting for a title with him and louis as main... it's not looking good guys

6. dangerous romance with, get this, perth and chimon. it's looking like highschool enemies to lovers! chimon tutoring perth for money. perth's character is a footballer, of course. this pairing came out of left field for me,, i knew they'd give perth someone but i didn't know who it was gonna be.. we'll see! both of them are strong actors so... I thought for a second that pepper (only his profile in shot and with the slickback) was mew and i almost shit my pants lmao

7. CHERRY MAGIC WITH TAYNEW????? ohhhh so gmmtv is going crazy next year is what you're saying. gmmtv is trying to be the best next year. gmmtv is (hopefully) trying to keep the adorable office set vibes that japan has perfected, and adding the only thing we were missing from that series: honest physical interest. that's truly the only thing they can add to the masterpiece that is cherry magic. so i hope they do, and w/o taking away the rest that made it so good.

tay and new were so overdramatic in this announcement, it was great lmao

8. our skyy 2. so some short 'after their stories' things, which i kinda like. they're doing like,, every pairing they had in 2022 so that's cool! bad buddy, the eclipse, forcebook from boss and babe, tale of 1000 stars, pondphuwin's pairing from never let me go, joongdunk from the star/sky series, vice versa and geminifourth from the school president thing (i think they're also a moonlight chicken side, but I'm not sure).. it's a crazy line-up

I cannot believe we're getting all of that. and we're still waiting on some for this year?? I can't wait to get my paws back on frigay... because frigay is only frigay if there's a gmmtv series airing, you feel me?

BUT ONE LAST THING: WE'RE GETTING AN OFFICIAL MILKLOVE SERIES :)))))) i cannot believe this is happening :'))
