Hungry Like The Wolf
Chapter One
She hadn't seen her best friend, Lando, in years. She didn't run into him the last time she was visiting her father and she doubted she'd see him this time. Things were different now. She wasn't aware of his furry little problem. Just like she wasn't aware of the vampires plaguing the town.

There were many things she'd miss about living in the sun. Her friends, her family. But mostly, she'd miss the way the sun kissed her skin every time she stepped out of her house.
Sitting on the beach, listening to the music as her friends cooked up a barbecue behind her. There would be nothing like that were she was headed.
Her mother had knocked on her apartment door just days ago. She knocked quickly and let herself in. "Honey, we need to talk about your dad," her mother said and sat herself down on the sofa.
She sat beside her mother, who immediately grabbed her hands. "What's up?" She asked, pulling her hands away and placing them in her own lap.
Her parents had split up when she was younger. She'd gone to live with her mother, only seeing her father a couple of times a year. But those visits happened less and less as she got older. When she moved out of her parents house, she stopped seeing her dad all together.
Her father had a family of his own, though. He had Susie, her stepmother, and Jack, her half brother. If the courts had seen how her father would end up, maybe she would have had to stay with him, instead of moving with her mother. But she loved living with her mother.
"Your father has been in contact. He wants to see you," her mother said.
"He wants to see me?" She questioned, her eyebrows raising. "If he wants to see me, he can contact me."
"He wants you to come stay with him for a few weeks."
She let out a sigh. Just one, quick visit to her father. She could see Jack and Susie, and her childhood friends. "Just a few weeks, yeah?" She asked and her mother nodded. "Okay, I'll go and visit him if you look after my plants for me."
A few days later she was on the road, heading to place where her father lived with his new family. Her music played throughout the duration of the journey, stopping for gas just once.
It had been so long since she'd seen her dad, a small amount of dread filled her. The last time she saw him was when Jack was born, she didn't even know how old he was now.
She hadn't spoken to her old friends since she was a teenager. She had no way to contact them; if she ran into them, she ran into them. It was as simple as that.
By the time she was parked on her fathers driveway, the sky was black, with stars dotted around. She killed the engine and, climbed out of the car and looked up at the house.
This was the house she had grown up in. Once upon a time her parents were together in this house. Now, her father was in there with his new family. She wondered if he still had her room in that house, or if he'd changed it since she was a teenager. That wouldn't surprise her. It had been near five years since she'd last stayed in this house.
Climbing the steps, she hesitated before knocking on the door. It had been so long since she'd last seen any of them. She sucked in a breath and knocked on the door.
There was noise from inside of the house. She watched through the stained glass window panes on the door, but didn't see anything. The door clicked before it was pulled open.
Her little brother stood there, staring up at her. He didn't recognise her, that much was clear. She crouched to his height. "Hey, Jack. Do you remember me?" She asked gently. The little boy in front of her shook his head.
The door opened wider and Jack disappeared back inside of the house. She stood up straight, coming face to face with her father. "Hi dad," she said, her smile tight.
"Hello, Maus."
Toto had been calling his daughter Maus from the day she was born. Even when she got older, he still called her Maus. "Do you need help with your things?"
She and Toto grabbed the few things she had brought with her from her car. He led her through the house, taking her up to the room that was hers. Well, it used to be hers.
Toto dropped her things and switched the light on, letting her look around. The room hadn't changed in the slightest. They still had the pictures of her and friends from maybe ten summers ago, the pictures of her as a baby, both of her parents holding her. There were posters of the bands she used to worship, the blankets she had since she was a child.
"Wow," she said, dropping her bags on the bed. "It hasn't changed in the slightest, has it?"
"I haven't touched a thing in here," Toto said.
"Like a time capsule, right?"
Toto let out a small, quick laugh. He walked through her door and grabbed a hold of the handle. "Wash up and come down for dinner, okay?"
"Okay."
Her dad pulled the bedroom door shut and she started on unpacking her things. She looked at the pictures on the shelves in her childhood bedrooms. All of them had her childhood friend in it. Lando. They'd been friends since they were kids. But, after her parents split and she went to live with her mother, their friendship was strained.
They hadn't seen each other in nearly seven years. It had been so long, she had no idea how she was supposed to get into contact with him. Maybe she'd find him.
She washed her hands and her face, and went downstairs. Jack and Susie were already sat around the table as Toto put their plates in front of them. As soon as Susie spotted her she was on her feet, pulling her into her embrace. "It's good to see you again," she said and released her.
"Sorry I haven't been by to visit for a while," she said as she took a seat between Susie and her dad. "I've been busy with work and I moved out of my moms place not to long ago," she confessed, although it was a lame excuse.
Susie gave her a kind smile as Toto placed the plate in front of her. "No worries, seriously," she said. "We're glad you're here now."
Their first family dinner was a little awkward. It was almost as though Toto didn't realise how old she was now, how much things had changed. He asked her questions about school, even if she had already graduated. It took a couple of questions before he got it through his head that she was an adult now.
But she took it all in her stride, answering everything with a smile. She wasn't mad that he didn't know much about her, he had been busy with his new family.
***
Lando was aware of her arrival from the moment she drove into town.
His territory was close to her home. Even if he didn't recognise the car, he could smell her inside of it. From the bushes, disguised as something not human, he watched as she climbed out of the car and knocked on the door of her old house.
It had been five years since Lando had last seen her. She hadn't seen him then, he'd seen her. He'd watched her. Back then he'd been going through the change, and he didn't feel controlled enough to meet her.
He would have done something he'd regretted back then.
He let out a low growl as he watched her disappear into her childhood house. More than anything he wanted to follow her, but he couldn't. He held back, just watching.
That was all he could do. Watch. He kept his gaze on her bedroom window for at least another hour, until Carlos came to trade shifts with him.
Carlos walked towards him, looking entirely too human. "Come on, pup," he said to Lando. "Go home and get some sleep."
Lando couldn't help but growl as his body changed, becoming human once again. "I'm not a pup," he complained. Still, he hadn't taken his eyes away from her house. "Make sure nothing goes near that house. Especially not any fucking vampires," he said.
Nodding his head, Carlos took of his shirt and transformed. He took position, watching over the house just as Lando had been.
But still, Lando didn't move. He could see her, moving about her room as she unpacked her things. She stood in front of her window for just a second, looking towards the copse of trees. She didn't know they were there, watching over her.
Carlos used his nose to nudge Lando away. "Protect her," he said one last time before taking off, heading back to the pack house.

Blood Moon Ch.15
Tumblr media
Pairing: Syverson x Annalisa Caulfield (OFC)
(Imma finish my butter paneer, take a couple ambien, and go tf to bed)
“Mike!” Sy called out but he was already gone. Annalisa swept her tongue over the wounds quickly, stopping the bleeding and they got up, pausing as the world spun for him and she steadied him before they raced from the bathroom after him.
“She's a vampire!” Mike exclaimed as he ran into the living room, making them grimace. “Annie! She's a vampire!”
“Mikey,” Jake said, “You gotta stop watchin' those horror movies.”
“It's the truth! Sy was in the bathroom with her and she had fangs and was drinking his blood!” He said and jumped to the side as they came into the living room. “Annie is a damn vampire! Sy, show them your wrist!”
“Mike,” Sy said, “I don't know what you think you saw but—”
“It's true.” Annalisa said, taking him by surprise. “I'm a vampire.”
“Annie?” Sy asked.
“Sy they were going to figure out something was off eventually when your nephew who is in diapers starts collecting social security and I look exactly as I do now.” She said, “I'm a vampire.”
“And you wanna marry this whack-job?” Jake asked after a moment's pause. It was only a blink and she was across the room, another blink and she was back at Sy's side. He had seen her move that quickly before, but only on rare occasions as it made her tired.
“Jesus Christ.” Brian whispered, “I mean, fuckin' hell.”
“Yeah.” She said with a nod.
“And you knew this?” Pete asked, looking at Sy and he nodded.
“Wait.” Annalisa said, “You want to marry me?”
“Yeah, baby, I do.” Sy said, “We're forever, remember?”
“Sy...” She said and he pulled her into his arms, pressing a kiss to her forehead.
“Hold the fuck up!” Brian said, “She's a goddamn vampire, Kyle! How are you okay with this?!”
“She ain't the only one who ain't human anymore.” Sy said and the statement hung in the air.
“You a...vampire too, son?” Jack asked.
“No, pops, I'm not.” Sy said and he sighed.
“Well, shit, I mean—”
“I'm a werewolf.” He said and they went silent again.
“Syria.” Denise said finally, breaking the silence.
“Ma?”
“Kyle, I carried you, I raised you, I know you. You were different when you came back from Syria. You had nightmares, bad ones, we could hear'em. I thought you just...maybe you had seen some bad combat, lord knows your dad had nightmares comin' back from Vietnam.” She said, “That didn't explain the bloody sheets, or you sneakin' back in at dawn, cut up and dirty around the same time every month. I didn't say anythin' because I...I didn't know what to say. I didn't know what was goin' on, but the nightmares stopped and you got a place of your own. Next time you came around, you were my baby boy again, so I pushed it from my mind.”
“Is that when it happened?” Jake asked and he nodded. “Fuck.”
“Oh this is so cool.”
“Mikey.” Pete said.
“What? It is! My brother is a werewolf and his girlfriend is a vampire! My friends are gonna shit themselves!” Mike said.
“This don't leave this room, Michael!” Sy said, pointing at him. “Not a damn word to anyone! Ya hear me?”
“I mean, it's just—”
“Anyone.” Sy said and he nodded.
“You were around my children.” Pete said, “The both of you.”
“Well, yeah, Petey, they're my nieces and nephews. I'd never hurt'em, you know that.” Sy said, “Right?” He didn't say anything, “Peter, you know I'd never hurt your babies, right?”
“Peter.” Denise said, “He's still Kyle—”
“He's a damn monster!” Pete snapped, “So is she!”
“If I was going to hurt them,” Annalisa said, “I had plenty of opportunities too. When I changed PJ's diaper, when I took Becky to the bathroom. I'd never hurt a child.”
“And I babysat'em alone plenty of times while you and Beth had date night after I got back.” Sy said, “I may have spoiled'em a bit much, but it's kinda hard not to.”
“They're right.” Jack said, “If they were gonna hurt the kids, or any of us, they would have. We've been alone with them plenty of times. They coulda hurt us and they didn't.”
“Pete.” Sy said, going to his brother. “I'm still your brother, I'm just...a little somethin' extra now.”
“I know that, I do.” Pete said, “It's just...fuck, Kyle.”
“I know.”
“I wanna see it.” Brian said, “I wanna see your...wolf.”
“Brian, it's...” Sy paused, “I look like a wolfman, Hollywood-style.”
“So cool.”
“I wanna see it.” Brian said, his tone final and he sighed.
“Ma, you had plans for that roast in the fridge?” Sy asked and she nodded. “Mind if I have it? I need to eat when I first shift and I ain't exactly myself.”
“Can't exactly do the alternative.” Annalisa muttered and he bumped her with an elbow making her snort.
“It'll take a couple hours to cook—”
“Raw is fine.” Sy said and headed for the back, stopping in the kitchen. “Whatever you hear, don't come outside, stay in the house. Annie?”
“Yeah.” She said and followed him out, the back screen door closing behind them. They stayed in the living room like he instructed, even as they heard his pained shout and the sound of breaking wood, the dogs running to the backdoor and barking.
“I'm gonna—” Pete said.
“Sit down, Pete.” Brian said, “He told us to stay here for a reason. He said he ain't himself, and I have a feelin' we won't like what he is.”
“He's our brother, Brian.”
“I know, and trust me, I wanna go out there, too, but if he's wild right now he won't forgive himself if he hurts one of us or worse.” Brian said and Pete nodded, sinking back down in his chair. Savage snarls and roars sounded from the back making them flinch when it happened, but then it went quiet. The back door swung open and there was the sound of claws on tile, the dogs stampeding back into the living room.
“Holy fuck.” Mike said with wide eyes, as he had a direct line of sight and saw him first. They got up from their chairs slowly, or pushed away from walls as he came back into the living room, towering over them, his ears nearly brushing the ceiling. His shirt was gone and his jeans clung to his legs.
Well, this is me.
“Anyone else hear him but his mouth didn't move?” Jake asked.
“He communicates via thought projection.” Annalisa explained, her fingers laced with his that were tipped in dark, wicked claws, “They all can.”
“He ain't the only one, then. Okay.” Brian said, “I mean, of course he ain't, there has to be at least one more out there.”
“So fucking cool.”
“Kyle Hoyt Syverson!” Denise snapped, making him jump. “Is that a nipple piercin'?!”

R becoming very overwhelmed when they find out their family is secretly a long line of vampire/supernatural hunters around the same time they start openly dating Hope
Hope Mikaelson x GN!reader
Tumblr media
Growing up your parents always told you to stay away from the kids who went to Salvatore prep, you had no idea why but you listened to them up until when you met Hope.
You had bumped into each other at the coffee shop in town and instantly fell for her but as soon as you found out she was a Salvatore student you thought it was better to keep it quiet until things got more serious.
After a few months together you thought it was time to finally tell your parents about your relationship and invited her over to your house for dinner.
Your parents were fully ready to spend the dinner telling embarrassing stories of your childhood as parents do but they recognized Hope the moment she stepped into your home.
Hope had a weird feeling that she had somehow met your parents before but brushed it off as she had just seen them around town.
Dinner was quiet, oddly quiet.
"Dinner is really good mom," you say, trying to break the silence.
"Yeah Mrs. Y/L/N, everything is great," Hope smiles.
"Thank you Hope," your mom nods.
"So Hope, do you go to Mystic Falls high?" Your dad asks, already knowing the answer but not wanting it to be too obvious.
"No, I actually go to Salvatore prep," Hope replies.
"What is it like there?" He questions.
"It's very… eccentric," she chuckles, "a lot of interesting people."
"Do your parents live in the area?" Your mom adds.
"Actually my parents died when I was a kid," Hope responds.
"Sorry to hear that," your mom says with faux sympathy.
Dinner continues on with the awkward small talk and you are so grateful when Hope says that's it late and she should be getting back to school.
You walk Hope to her car and kiss her goodbye, returning inside to your parents who are washing dishes in the kitchen.
"So what did you think of Hope?" You ask them nervously.
"How could you date someone from that school… and Hope Mikaelson of all people," your mom says, putting down the dish she was washing.
"What do you guys have against Salvatore Prep? And do you know Hope or something?" You ask confused.
Your parents look at each other and without needing to say a word nod in agreement.
"Y/N, it's time you know the truth about our family," your father states.
They sit you down in the living room, serious looks on their faces.
"Okay you’re really starting to worry me," you say, no possible idea what they could want to tell you.
"This town has a lot of secrets and Salvatore prep is the home to a lot of them," your mom states.
"What are you talking about?"
"We weren't going to bring you into this until you were 18 but Y/N…Monsters are real, all the stories and legends you heard as a kid it's all real," your dad tells you, "those kids aren't like you, every single of them is supernatural and a lot of them have hurt people."
"Very funny," you laugh.
"This isn't a joke honey, the last few decades Mystic Falls has been a hot spot for supernatural creatures thanks to the Salvatore Brothers and the Mikaelson family," your mom explains, "that's why we moved here when you were five."
"So you're trying to tell me that Hope is what? A vampire? A werewolf" You say in disbelief.
"She's both actually as well as a witch, she's called a tribred and probably the most dangerous of them all."
"And how exactly would you guys even know about any of this?" You question, "and if you do know about this why would you move us here in the first place?"
"Because our family has been hunting monsters for centuries and protecting the innocent from them," your father explains, "when we heard about the Salvatore school opening up for kids like them we came here to keep Mystic Falls safe."
"This is insane, Hope isn't a monster," you say getting up from the couch, "she would never hurt anyone."
"Y/N wait," your father attempts but your mother puts her hand on his arm.
"Let them go, it's a lot to take in, they just need some time," she tells him.
You don't talk to Hope for days, too busy pulling all nighters researching the supernatural world and trying to figure out how true what your parents told you really was.
Eventually Hope gets concerned at the radio silence and goes to Mystic Falls high looking for you.
"Y/N hey," she says approaching you at your car after school.
"Hope what are you doing here?" You say nervously.
"I haven't heard from you since I went to your house for dinner? Did I do something wrong?" She asks, "did your parents not like me?"
"I'm sorry I can't talk right now," you say attempting to get in your car.
"Whatever's going on you can tell me," Hope says, stepping closer to you and going to touch your arm but you pull away.
You look around, making sure no one was close enough to hear you, "... are you a tribred?"
"How do you know what that is?" She says in shock.
"You are, aren't you, god my parents were telling the truth."
"Your parents? How do your parents know about me?"
"Because apparently their fucking monster hunters and expect me to be one too," you say through gritted teeth.
Hope is trying to process this news but now there's way too many other students around.
"Can we please go somewhere and talk," she asks and you agree.
You drive in silence to a secluded spot outside the woods, normally when you and Hope came here to be alone it was for a very different reason.
Hope tells you everything, the story of her parents, how all her friends that you had met weren't totally human and even about the few encounters she had over the years with hunters that you both assume were actually your parents.
"So you're telling me there's a magical pit in Georgia that is a portal to a hell dimension that's basically a jail cell to an evil golem named Malivore that wants to murder you so he can take over the world," you say trying to wrap your mind around it all.
"To sum it up, yes," she nods.
"What the actual fuck," you shout slamming your hands on the steering wheel.
"I'm so sorry, I never should have started seeing you, the last thing I wanted is you to be involved in this," Hope apologizes.
"Hope this isn't your fault, I would have gotten involved eventually. My parents said they weren't planning on telling me until I turned 18 it's just all so overwhelming," you sigh, "I dont believe that you and your friends are bad people and I really don't want to hunt anyone, especially not you I fucking love you."
"You love me?" She says low and you realize what you just said.
"Yeah… I do."
"I love you too," she smiles.
You lean in to kiss her and she puts her hand on your cheek, gently rubbing her thumb across your skin.
"What are we going to do?" You ask, your hand on her waist pulling her as close as you could over the center console.
"I don't know but we have each other and that's all that matters."

The Original Vampire Hunter
Pairing: Mikael mikaelson x reader
Prompt: Nicotine by panic at the Disco
Summary: y/n was a were wolf hunter and she ran into the original vampire hunter she had been secretly in love for centuries
Tumblr media
I was drenched in wolf blood and gripping my blade extremely tight. For centuries I had been Fighting vampires and were-wolves. Ironically I was trying so hard to impress a vampire I could always feel watching me. I could feel his eyes on me. Since he started running into me all those years ago I've lost control and I don't want it back. I first met him in the 1200’s when he killed my fiance who i didn't know was a vampire. I got turned by my fiance’s dad and at the time it was like I'm going numb, I've been hijacked. Now It's a fucking drag I have to run from the Mikaelson family and try not to be distracted by the destroyer.
Things changed when Mikael approached me to help him take down a werewolf pack. Our cover was a fancy couple and I had to kiss him which was a mistake. Now I taste you on my lips and I can't get rid of you So I say damn your kiss and the awful things you do Yeah, you're worse than nicotine, nicotine. I became wanted by all the surrounding wolf packs and have been laying low.
"How's your head ache my little hunter?" Mikael asked leaning over to see how I was doing. He had no idea of my feelings or the fact that my 'head ache' was a hang over to drink my feelings away.
"I'm fine. I didn't say anything to you last night right?"
"You said many thing's my dear. they strangest was It's better to burn, than to fade away It's better to leave than to be replaced. I find its worse to burn I haven't figured out the leave and replaced." He said and I looked at him and sat up.
"I was drowning out my emotions. Fear, caring and weakness. I know you're a fan of drawing the last one Mr. surprised goddamn attack at 2 fucking AM." I said, "your sprained my wrist that time."
"news to me my dear. I would have helped you heal it had you told me." he said and I laughed as I got up to put some distance between us, " something else you said was that you have a thing for a sexy Norwegian vampire then almost fell out the window. So what Norwegian vampire do you know other than me?"
"Fuck." I said and froze, "um? I'm not discussing this with you."
"why not?"
"Cause you're worse than the devil and the devil doesn't get my thoughts." I said rambling and Mikael pinned me to the wall. My breath caught in my throat.
"That's what I thought. It is me isn't. why didn't you tell me?"
"Cause you could never love me back so I should Cut every tie I have to you." I said and mikael kissed me.

YEA THE "THINK ABOUT THIS ONE HIGHLY SPECIFIC FACT WITH MY BLORBO" DISEASE IS SO REAL,,,i have an oc who's my main guy hopping around in my brain and i go "yea she cant play the imposter (ඞ) in among us because lying to and killing her friends make her sad even though its a silly online game. she plays an absolutely Killer crewmate detective game though" (MEDIEVAL AGE CHARACTER BTW.) meanwhile any side character ocs i have even if theyre like. semi-important my brain can only come up with. "um. possibly Human idk. could Be"
also omg,,,scarlet and avery,,,KISSING?! 🏳️‍🌈😳WHAT!!! i cant believe there s vampire lesbins in,,,pap er teeth,,,the Lesbian Vampires comic,,,ur gona tell me theres vampires next,,,(very /lh /j etc btw pls do NOT read this as condescending!!!). also yeah one of my favorite parts of making fan content is just. deciding random ass things for the characters and world,,,my brain goes "Whats your source for this Information" and the source is i Made it the Fuck up!!
this ask got very long,,,it will get longer sorry. it is time for the Questioning™️ (same things as always apply!!)
how do paperteeth werewolves work? can they transform at will, or can they only do it under a full moon?
do they still have their weakness to silver? more weaknesses? supernatural abilities?
do vampire hunters not mind werewolves since theyre. u know. not Vampires or do they also not like werewolves?
follow up 2 that,,,do any of the vampire hunter group including her dad know trisha's a werewolf or is she just. chillin'. completely anonymous.
also i just realized. i have NO idea where paperteeth takes place. for some reason ive always just thought it was somewhere in europe. IS paperteeth's setting european??? i have no idea why i was so solid in my belief that theyre in europe up 2 this point,,,
WEREWOELVS!
ok so yeah these werewolves r more the ugh terrible curse that ruins ur life flavour, they cant transform at will, no benefits in human form like cool retractable claws or anything. they transform on the full moon & whenever they get extremely angry or scared, & its the gross horrifying painful kind like you get a new set of teeth every month kinda thing. they can avoid turning if they stay out of the moonlight BUT they feel extremely obligated to go look at it, and will get violent if kept from it, so its safer for the person to just turn than to throw themself at a basements brick wall relentlessly, all night- so you cant actually avoid it unless you wanna break all your arms every month, i mean the arms break either way but they heal when they turn back if theyre broken by turning. will eat anyone and anything except vegetables while a wolfh
weakness 2 silver in both forms, similar to a vampire. other injuries heal quickly but if u like killed it hard enough with a non silver weapon itd probably still die? it depends. like if u put a werewolf into a stainless steel blender, and the blender didnt break... itd probably stay dead, whereas if u put a vampire in a blender, i mean its hard to say, what counts as decapitation... if putting a vampire in a blender doesnt count as decapitation the vampire survives just fine. im trying to say werewolves are technically weaker than vampires, but theyre probably in a practical setting harder to kill, bc u cant just stake it and theyre huge. avery wouldnt know where to start with a werewolf.
depends on the vampire hunter! its not in the job description, but the kind of person who decides to become a vampire hunter is probably more likely to have a problem with werewolves. avery doesnt care about werewolves at all & wouldnt go out of her way to find and kill one, she's a little bit scared of them bc they spread their curse much easier than vampires (one bite is all it takes 2 pass it on) & she would find being a werewolf SO embarrassing.
(but she doesnt have to worry about that anymore bc i dont think vampires can become werewolves, i think werewolves can become vampires though. 4 a vampire the bite would heal immediately and i think vampires are a little bit too much of their own creature for werewolfness or whatever to recognise them as a suitable curse haver)
nobody except fish's family knows shes a werewolf!
&yeah! paperteeth takes place in scotland :)

FMR plot poorly explained
So you’ve got these two guys: Andre and Josh. They live in this weird little town called Amber Falls that actually isn’t weird considering that witches and werewolves and vampires and stuff exist in their universe and everyone knows about it but Amber Falls is still definitely weird
Anyways andre’s just having the time of his life, even if his dad is kind of forcing him to be a were beast hunter like the rest of the people on his dad’s side of the family, but shit goes down the drain when andre just turns into a werewolf one night and salvador (his dad) tries to kill him. he manages to injure him but not kill him though, and andre wakes up the next morning with a vague recollection of what happened. He goes to josh who is like hell yeah dude I’ll help you totally not because im in love with you or something yeah totally not dude hey you wanna kiss as they’re escaping the town, josh gets shot and killed by salvador. Andre attacks salvador, josh dies in his arms, angsty shit or whatever. Andre escapes the town.
But of course josh couldn’t just die then. Apparently fucked up magic + a pendant with a link to spirit magic sent him right to the void dimension (which is kind of where the gods reside? It’s this dark place where your soul just floats) but oh no he is. Still awake in this dimension and he is not supposed to be here. the god of death (mortem is their name) sees him and is like what the fuck dude get out so she brings him back to life by. Kicking him out of what is essentially heaven.
So josh wakes up in the hospital, he’s now got these weird connections to the afterlife and stuff. His soul isn’t really fully attached to his body anymore/it’s partly trapped in the afterlife which means that one, he can see ghosts now. It is driving him insane and two, he can temporarily become one by. And this is so funny to me because he literally just falls over but he can eject his soul fully from his body and walk around as a little spirit dude. Despite how cool this is he still spent time in the void dimension, where even a few seconds can feel like hundreds of years, so he’s a little fucked up over that. Also the fact that he died. Also the fact that the guy who killed him is telling everyone in the town that Andre died, which josh knows isn’t true but he can’t really say anything without also exposing andre so he. Isn’t able to just yet meanwhile with andre he’s started participating in these werebeast fights to earn money, and holy shit dude get out of there you are getting the shit beat out of you physically and mentally. a couple months/a year after joining though, he finally leaves and joins what I call the werewolf gang. It’s not even a gang it’s just a group of friends that all happen to be fruity werewolves which is great because he’s also a fruity werewolf. Anyways laurel, one of the people in said group (there’s only like four people bro) kind of acts like an older brother to andre and helps him control his lycanthropy which is awesome because gods know he needs that cut back to amber falls where josh is uh. Actually he isn’t doing much aside from being tortured by the restless spirits of the undead. He’s fine totally fine nothing wrong there oh my god im forgetting my own plot. Uh there’s a weird gray space for a while where andre is just. hanging out with his friends/found family and also learning about the rest of the supernatural world which is good for ghim. I mean he’s also having to deal with the embodiment of his curse that likes to torment him over josh’s death but that’s totally fine it’s not messing with him at all
Also andre’s been searching for a way to break his curse because. As cool as it is turning into a giant wolf monster for three nights a month it’s also awful and he’s being actively hunted for it. People are out there trying to sell his pelt so. Yeah he needs to get rid of this curse now. so he’s searching for that with no luck, which is why he’s getting way too involved with magical stuff. okay so a lot of time has passed obviously. It’s been like seven or eight years since the incident, so they’re 21/22 by now. we finally come back to josh, who has been trying to hunt down the source of andre’s curse all these years, not knowing that hey andre’s doing that too. Of course josh is more successful in his attempts because he’s kind of using some of the hunters in Salvador’s association to get information. And by using them I absolutely mean that he’s dating one of them. Gaslight gatekeep boyboss he also kind of. Summons the spirit of andre’s ancestor, trying to find out the truth straight from the source. The ancestor is named victor for future reference, and victor agrees to help him uncover the truth. which is of course located in Salvador’s office at his headquarters, and of course there’s an event going on there to celebrate a century of service to the town or something. Josh gets into the event using his hunter date, manages to break into Salvador’s office, and would you look at that there’s handwritten journals by torres family members (torres is the family name. i am all over the place) describing ways in which they’ve tried to break the curse and the things to lead up to them getting it. Apparently a hundred years ago victor was killing were beasts to the point where they weren’t safe in the town anymore, some witch got mad at him and cursed him to turn into a werewolf, and now every other torres family member turns into a werewolf if the previous curse holder has passed on. Andre got his curse because his grandfather died just before he turned, which explains why it was so sudden or. something
Josh is trying to collect these things and oh what do you know Salvador’s here. He kills josh for the second time, leaving his corpse on the floor of his office, and starts burning the evidence of a curse. Salvador, for context, is desperate to uphold his family name, to the point where he would and has killed to do so.
Of course he doesn’t really realize that josh can come back to life, so once the bitch does, josh immediately attacks salvador. Also remember Salvador burning the evidence? Yeah the place is on fire now because of their fight. They’re beating the shit out of each other as the place crumbles, everyone leaving the building except for the both of them. there was a way for josh and salvador to escape, but josh had that “if im dying you’re coming down with me” mentality and ended up letting the both of them die to smoke inhalation.
Josh wakes up after another totally not traumatizing trip to the void dimension, realizes that the flames are being handled, and also realizes oh shit he killed a man he needs to get out of this town now. he escapes the town (oh hey didn’t this happen eight years ago), and has to start a new life as a completely different person.
Also I forgot to talk about josh’s family, but this portion of the story focuses a little on how they’re affected by his “death”. They don’t know that he’s alive and the person affected most by this is his twin sister Julie, who is obviously going through stuff because. She watched her brother go through horrible depression for years, constantly have trouble from other people in the town after his coming out (for context. Josh is also a trans guy and amber falls is. Not a very good town to be trans in), and now everyone thinks that he committed a murder-suicide. So she’s pretty distraught over that. Julie I am so sorry I care about you very much now on the other side of things, we get a good moment about two years after josh’s death, when andre and josh finally reunite thanks to the fact that josh decided to search for him, just to see if he could set things right. they’re talking again, they’re discussing everything that’s happened and oh they’re in love now. I mean it only took them ten years to get over the mutual pining. I care very much about these two.
A while later like. A year or two, they decide to go back to amber falls one last time just to come clean to their families (also because they’d like to have people they know at their wedding. They’ve both been under the radar and would like to speak to people again). So they do and. well isa (andre’s mom) is so happy to see her son again. she doesn’t even care that he turns into a murderous creature every now and then she’s just so happy to have him back. also she finally realizes that Salvador was a shitty husband which is great because it took her too long to figure that out. Also she’s fine with the two of them being together (she’s a little concerned that his partner is the main suspect behind what was possibly the biggest crime to occur in amber falls but. Whatever makes her son happy ig)
On josh’s side though…yikes. Obviously his family is more than overjoyed that he’s okay, but julie is not too happy about the fact that he just left without telling them anything. It’s understandable because she spent two years of her life grieving, and just as she gets over it he shows up again. So things are tense between the two of them but overall it’s still good because he’s alive and they’re all safe.
From here there’s less major events and things calm down. Everything I write from this point on is usually just the two of them being together, or whatever I feel like in the moment
Also. There are two endings to this story. One of which being that they get to have a happy life together and the other being that. They both die tragically, but together. The second one I have cried over multiple times.
Anyways I hope you enjoyed my dumbass little story I love these freaks so much
Forgot to mention there’s a part just before Josh’s second + third deaths where andre gets cursed by the descendant of the witch that cursed victor, and the curse ends up getting him trapped in a wolf form for like. Five months until the werewolf gang helps turn him back (he still has the curse, but wears an amulet that stops him from transforming or whatever)
ALSO another part I forgot to mention is that josh has a fourth death between the events of his third death and the reunion, in which he takes his life in an attempt to sever his connection with the gods. it fails somewhat, but it's his way of getting back I suppose. so yeah

Winterfest Headcanons
Back when they were "normal" human Sims, Caleb and Lilith celebrated Winterfest like whoa! Seriously, the Whos down in Whoville had nothing on the Vatores down in Willow Creek. The day after Harvestfest, they started to get ready for Winterfest. Edward put the lights up on every inch of the house, Artesia (and Caleb) baked a metric fuckton of cookies and sent cards to everyone and their dog. (Literally.) They posed for family photos to put on the cards. They even met Santa Claus, er, I mean...Clement Frost...er...Father Winter. (And Artesia maaaay have lowkey woohooed him that Winterfest Edward was stuck working.)
Lilith's gingerbread house fell apart because she went a little too ham on the roof frosting. It was supposed to be entered into a contest, and there was no time to fix it. Caleb ran upstairs and dug a Godzilla toy out of storage and placed it next to the collapsed gingerbread house. It won first prize.
After they were turned into vampires, they soon discovered that most of Forgotten Hollow...well, they just didn't do Winterfest. They put their all into Spooky Day, and they gave Talk Like a Pirate Day everything they had, but Winterfest was a no-go. Everything was so dark and gloomy all year round, but it was especially palpable at Winterfest. None of the houses in FH had any lights. Nobody kissed that special someone under the mistletoe. No wreaths decorated the door, unless you count the one at that Garliclauter Place made of garlic. Nobody baked gingerbread cookies or put together gingerbread houses. No stockings hung on the fireplaces, no garlands adorned staircases, and no lights were seen on any roof.
This was their first Winterfest since their parents' passing, their first Winterfest on their own, the first Winterfest since The Incident With Miss Hell, the first Winterfest since their cousin Lily became a werewolf and (Vlad had told them) wanted nothing more to do with them, and the first Winterfest since they turned into vampires. It was also the first Winterfest since they decided they didn't want to follow Vlad's ways.
The night before Winterfest was due to begin, Lilith threw the curtains open, as the snow fell outside. "It's Winterfest," she declared. "Yeah, so?" asked Caleb. He was sulking and nibbling on somewhat stale Winterfest sugar cookies he'd picked up from the store on impulse yesterday. He had been moody ever since The Incident, and well, all things considered, no one could blame him. "So," declared Lilith. "We need this. Let's get our butts in gear and Do Winterfest!" "Why should we?" asked Caleb. "Come on. Mom and Dad wouldn't want to see you sulking on Winterfest, Vampire or no!" replied Lilith. "Besides," she continued. "All those lights, the greenery, the music...I don't think Vlad will like it very much." (If you want Caleb to do something, all you have to do is play the "it will upset Vlad" card. It works every time.) Caleb's blue-grey eyes lit up, and he put down the shit-ass storebought cookie he didn't like much anyway. "Let's do it!"
They spent the night putting lights up all over their house. Garlands on every wall, the staircases, and the porch. The tree right in the window, where everyone could see it. The radio tuned to the Winterfest Music station, loud enough that it could be heard all the way down by the lake. Even their coffins got decked out for the occasion!
The next night, when it was officially Winterfest, Wolfsbane Manor was all lit up. (It even caused a power surge!) Everyone in town looked with wonder and awe at this unusual-for-Forgotten-Hollow sight. Not to be outdone, Vlad went down to his basement and dug out his own holiday decorations box. It was covered with dust and cobwebs, and contained ornaments they don't even make anymore. He set to work putting his own decorations up, and played "Fwingle Fobs" on his pipe organ.
Father Winter stopped by and left a huge pile of presents under the tree, at both houses. He was asked to decide which one he liked better. He decided he was just happy to see lights up at all in Forgotten Hollow, and soon FH joined all the other Sim neighborhoods in getting ready for Winterfest.
Each year, the Vatore-vs-Straud Winterfest Lights rivalry intensified.

“Shut up, that’s not what I meant.” For the Reggie ship of your choice.
Hehehe, this was probably not what you were going for, but it's fun and I'm tired so here ya go! Enjoy!
Bobby held tightly to Reggie’s hand as his boyfriend pulled him through the crowd. In the sea of costumed people at the Halloween festival, he knew he’d lose him in an instant if he let go. It was loud, music playing from speakers, kids laughing, shouts as people found their friends or won a carnival game. Usually, being in the middle of a crowd like this wasn’t Bobby’s thing. But Reggie’s wide grin, glowing with life and joy even through his skeleton face paint, was all Bobby could really focus on.
He still wasn’t entirely sure where Reggie had gotten the idea to be a skeleton astronaut, but it suited him. Bobby was glad he’d ditched the bulky gloves though, they made it hard to hold his hand. His own vampire werewolf costume(Flynn and Carrie had dared them all to do mashups, okay?) was surprisingly fun, though the cape kept almost catching on things. At least the furry shirt was keeping him warm.
Reggie darted between a couple of game booths, pulling Bobby along behind him. They burst out into an open area filled with picnic tables, a couple of food vendors and trucks set up nearby. Reggie slowed to a stop, looking around with a wide smile. Bobby followed suit, checking out the food options. Tacos, cotton candy, some kind of caramel apple thing, hotdogs, popcorn…
“Gosh, what I wouldn’t give for a dog,” Reggie sighed wistfully, cutting off Bobby’s thoughts.
“Oh no you don’t,” Bobby blurted out, wrapping a protective arm around Reggie’s waist and glaring over at the hot dog stand. “I almost lost you to hotdogs once, babe. I’m not Willie, I don’t find my boyfriend’s brush with street food induced death entertaining.”
Reggie glanced up at him for a second, then burst out laughing. “Shut up, that’s not what I meant,” he giggled, pointing across the open eating area to where a couple of kids were playing with a large golden retriever. “I meant an actual dog.”
Bobby stared at the dog for a second, then back at his boyfriend, then dropped his head onto Reggie’s shoulder in embarrassment. “Oh, that makes more sense,” he mumbled, the words muffled by Reggie’s thick space suit.
Reggie chuckled and wrapped his arms around Bobby, running chilly fingers through his hair. “Sorry, sweetheart, I wasn’t trying to scare you.”
“Sorry for overreacting,” Bobby responded, shifting a bit to pull Reggie into a proper hug.
“You didn’t,” Reggie promised.
Bobby relaxed into the safe warmth of his boyfriend’s arms, the evening breeze barely bothering him. He glanced at the kids and the dog over Reggie’s shoulder. He thought about the lousy apartment the two of them shared with Luke and Alex at the moment. It didn’t allow pets. But the lease was almost up, and the band had pooled their savings to make a downpayment on a house near Julie’s dad’s place.
“Were you serious about wanting a dog?” he asked quietly.
Reggie pulled back, giving him a questioning but hopeful look. “I mean, yeah.”
“Maybe we can talk to the rest of the band about it after we move then?” Bobby offered.
Reggie didn’t say anything, just laced his fingers around the back of Bobby’s neck to pull him into a sloppy kiss. Bobby laughed, startled but not complaining as he settled his hands on Reggie’s waist. It wasn’t exactly a new idea for him, but he’d been waiting for the right time to tell Reggie. And this seemed like it had been a great time.

Chapter 1&2
Chapter 1: The Attack
“It’s bullshit,” Nancy said when Steve asked about their relationship prompting him to push his way out of the bathroom and out the front.
He knew he should've stayed and made sure a very drunk Nancy made her way home safely but he was too angry to think rationally.
Heading to his car he saw someone who made his blood boil, even more, Billy Hargrove, standing smugly on the other side of the street staring at him.
Not feeling up to dealing with the jackass right then Steve looked down and unlocked his car door and when he looked up again Billy was gone.
Glad that ended with ease Steve opened his car door and started to get in when all of a sudden someone gripped his arm tightly and after hitting his head on the top of the car Steve passed out.
When he woke up he was on a soft bed. The room was dimly lit. Rubbing the back of his head he tried to sit up but got dizzy almost immediately.
“That's a nasty bruise on your forehead Harrington I wouldn't move too fast,” a familiar voice said mockingly.
Fuming Steve replied, “this is kidnapping Hargrove, that's a federal crime”.
Billy laughed and said “I saved your worthless ass, Harrington. Someone didn't seem to like the fact you hurt Nancy and left her alone even though you knew she was wasted. Oh yeah and the fact you didn't even notice she was still hurting from losing her friend, what was her name, Barb”
This pissed Steve off more but he stayed where he was and said “were you spying on us, Billy? Who the fuck tried to kill me since you know so much huh”?
Suddenly Billy was sitting at the edge of his bed looking at him.
“It was a werewolf. I'm guessing someone in her family because they were beyond pissed and weren't going to spare you. I mean after they knocked you out the dragged you out and started scratching at your stomach trying to disembowel you.
I couldn't let them do that's so I went over and kicked its ass. If you look at your chest you'll see the bandages as well as this nice parting gift he left me on my eye” Billy said.
Steve looked at Billy's face and sure enough, there was a scratch over his left eye. He also felt pain in his chest and stomach area.
“Why did you save me?” Steve asked curiously.
Billy smiled and Steve’s blood ran cold as he saw Billy's teeth. He had fangs. Fangs that were dripping a bit of blood.
Billy closed his mouth and said softly “don't worry Stevie that blood belongs to the were that tried to kill you. I wouldn't dream of biting you until you want me too”.
This was all too much for Steve at the moment and he fell back asleep.
Billy smiled and covered him up.
A small tiger came bounding in. It had white fur with red decorating the bottom of it's ears and feet.
Leaping into the air the little tiger became a 13 yr old girl with red hair and she landed right onto Billy's lap.
“Dad, is he going to be ok. That were got him good” the girl asked, staring up at her dad with deep blue eyes.
Billy placed a hand on her head and said “he's a strong guy Max, he will be fine. Now you go and get you're homework done and tomorrow I will take you to the arcade to hang out with your new friends”.
After placing a kiss on her forehead, Max headed out and to her own room. She was obsessed with keeping her high score on dig dug and he liked her having real friends finally.
The clan they came from was no place for any child to be raised and as soon as he was financially stable enough he got the hell out.
The first thing he did was enroll himself and her in school.
He looked younger than he actually was and passed as her brother.
That's where he met Steve. The man caught his eye the moment he saw him. His brown hair and beautiful and loving eyes just drew him in.
He hadn't let himself love since Max’s mother abandoned them when Max was born.
She had known Billy was a shifter and a vampire but she was convinced it wouldn't pass to Max so the moment when Max was born a small pup her mother was gone.
Thinking about it made Billy growl. When he heard Steve moving he chastised himself for being too loud.
Billy stood up and suddenly there was a full-sized white male tiger in his place. He laid down beside Steve's bed and kept watch all night.
Chapter 2: Vampires are Real
When Steve woke up he was alone and the sun was up.
He looked at the clock and couldn't believe it was almost 11 am.
Not only did he have a pounding headache from drinking so much his head also hurt where it had hit the steering wheel.
His chest and stomach also hurt.
Steve tried to get up but it hurt so bad he just collapsed back onto his pillow.
Had he dreamed what happened? Maybe he was in a car crash and not attacked by a werewolf and found out Billy was a vampire.
But that reality came crashing down as Billy entered the room with a tray of food and Robin trailed in after him with drinks.
“I made breakfast. I didn't know what you liked so I put all the different breakfast foods on your plate. Robin here also wanted a plate of everything. I myself prefer waffles with eggs and sausage with a side of toast” Billy said handing Steve the massive plate of food.
Robin went over and handed him a cup of coffee. He took a sip. He had never tasted such rich coffee in his life.
“Its ground at the source,” Billy said before putting a huge fork full of sausage and waffle in his mouth.
Robin started to eat a bit of everything and also was amazed at the richness of the coffee and she wasn't even a coffee drinker.
Steve just stared at the two of them. Eating and chatting like old friends.
“What the hell is going on” Steve said louder than he meant and scared the others.
“We are having breakfast dingus, what does it look like?” Robin said, placing a huge fork full of stuff in her mouth.
“He's a damn vampire. How's he awake, how's he in the sun, how is he eating food?” Steve said, trying to relax and catch his breath.
“Slow down Harrington. I will explain. First of all, those are all misconceptions about our race.
We can go out during the day, we can eat normal food, most of us wear religious jewelry and go to church.
The only difference is we can't die from disease so basically unless some asshole kills us, and I don't mean stake us with a wooden cross unless of course, they hit the heart, we live forever.
Oh yeah, Max, she is my daughter. I just dropped her off at the arcade to hang out with the others.
I think she has a major crush on Lucas. I just hope it stays at the crush stage and doesn't move further” Billy said with a smile and shoved another fork full of food in his mouth.
“Just relax Steve, if Billy hadn't been there I would be burying you today instead of having breakfast with you” Robin said with tears welling up.
Billy wiped away the tears and said sweetly “but I was there and Steve will be fine beautiful”.
Robin blushed and thanked him before quickly shoving more food in her mouth. She didn't know how to tell him she had no interest in guys but that could wait for later.
Sighing, Steve took a bite of his food. It melted in his mouth and he couldn't help but moan in enjoyment.
Billy smiled with excitement and Robin knew right then that those two were going to be getting together.
“I like your moan, Harrington. Maybe next time I can make you moan” Billy said, licking his lips.
Steve blushed and put food in his mouth.
Around 2 pm Billy went to pick up Max from the arcade leaving Robin to watch over Steve.
“Are you sure we can trust him, Robin? I mean the guy is a full-fledged vampire. Also I'm sorry you're stuck watching over me on your day off. I promise I will be back scooping ice cream with you in no time” Steve said, trying not to move too much.
“I don't mind dingus. And when it comes to Billy I fully trust him. He had come to my house after dropping his kid off and told me everything.
Also, Steve if you think Billy being a vampire is a major shock to the system just wait until you see what else he can do.
He told me What happened to you, about who and what he was? He didn't keep anything a secret.
Also, you're crushing so hard. Who cares what he is right? I mean he likes you too so take advantage of that” Robin said as she smoothed Steve's blanket.
Steve blushed but didn't say anything. He was still organizing his feelings when it came to Billy.
Before any more could be said a giant white tiger with a little white tiger on its back came into the room and glared up at Steve and Robin.
Suddenly the small one bolted out the door while the bigger one slowly became Billy. “You better run kiddo” Billy growled and smoothed his hair back.
“I told you that there was much more dingus” Robin said laughing.
“Can you believe I found her making out with Lucas behind the arcade? She is so grounded and Lucas’s mother has informed me that he is grounded as well. Sue is an amazing woman. I wish Max’s mom had been like her” Billy said to no one.
“I'm sorry to hear Max’s mom wasn't there,” Steve said gently.
Blushing Billy smiled and said, “thanks, Steve. I'm going to go and make dinner. Glad I didn't scare you too much there”.
“Nah you're ten times more adorable in that form” Steve said jokingly making Robin roll her eyes at all the flirting.
Billy gave a low growl and then headed out of the room.
“Just tell him how you feel about him,” Robin said.
Steve smiled and laid back. He was thinking about it, he was also thinking about dinner.
“This isn't too bad. A soft bed, a good friend, Billy, Max and of course food” Steve thought to himself as he waited for Billy to return.

How I would remake Twilight:
1. First and foremost, there will be no imprinting on babies here. Not even a no but HELL NO
2. The 5 Cullen “kids” are not already in relationships when the story starts. Emmett and Rosalie are on the verge but angst keeps them apart. Alice can’t see who she falls in love with. Jasper is in the closet. Edward is still pretty but bitchy.
3. Bella isn’t the bestest most specialish girl when she arrives. She is observed for the shiny new thing she is but is quickly forgotten as she is not sociable and has weird fascinations.
4. Jacob is there, but he is older (like by two years or smth) and gives off more big brother vibes to the audience, but Bella is smitten with him.
5. Carlisle and Esme are married, but tend to lead a more open marriage life style (consensually from both parties and neither feel like full commitment to the other), but have no plans to introduce another into the relationship. They do see Alice, Jasper, Emmett, Rosalie, and Edward as their own.
6. Carlisle is less nice and more strict but not in a dickhole way. Like…could you imagine being a vampire dad to 5 fully grown monster toddlers…
7. Charlie is there and single still. But after Bella and Edward start dating, he begins to see the good doctor more. I think it would be hilarious for Charlie and Bella to both know about vampires but try to keep it secret from each other.
Charlie finds out via his budding friendship with Carlisle and his lovely wife Esme somehow idk maybe Carlisle saves him bc he is a cop. Charlie 10/10 develops a crush and gets to have all the internal dilemma that has nothing to do with sexuality but “but he’s married” kind of thing
Idk what the resolution needs to be here but yeah
8. Bella meets Edward who reacts the same but mainly due to his thirst. He misses one day of school, and returns but acts stiff and uncomfortable around her.
MEANWHILE Alice introduces herself to Bella and they become friends. Alice spending time with Bella draws in Angela and Jessica, very heavy implications that Angela is not straight.
9. Jacob shows up from time to time and there is weird tension between him and Alice. It’s where he is a werewolf and doesn’t know, but Alice has a hunch as he reeks of them. Since this is my silly AU, Jacob x Alice are long game, insane slow burn, ETL. You get forbidden romance, they can fight each other and not die, but also have so much chemistry and tension to drive people crazy. They won’t even kiss till like the final arc, won’t even be nice until like…season 3.
10. Btw in my head, each season covers 1 book, and the final battle/epilogue will be a mini series (4 seasons, and a few episodes to make up a “movie”)
11. Season one finale ends like the movie, BUT it ends with Carlisle being summoned to the Volturi.
12. The werewolf thing will be treated more as a family thing as opposed to a spiritual animal thing. And oh yeah, after Bella is like for sure about vampires being real she totally asks Edward “hey what else is real that I don’t know about” but he lies (bc he thinks that it’s protecting her)

Stuck Between a Vampire and a Werewolf | part 20
a/n: the ending is hereeee!!! thank you to everyone who liked, reblogged, and interacted with this story in any way! i really enjoyed writing it and i’m so glad people loved it as well! now back to writing for my wolf pack 😌🤣
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“Babe, do you have everything?” Paul calls from the living room, where he was getting things ready. You were still in the bedroom, packing things up and making sure you had what you needed.
It was an early, rainy October morning in Seattle, and you and Paul were getting ready to leave for La Push for the weekend to spend your birthday back home. Neither you or Paul have seen any of them since you moved to Seattle in August.
“I think so,” you sigh, setting your duffle bag down. Paul zips his own up and stands up straight, walking over to you.
His arms circle your waist and he begins to sway you side to side, staring down at you with a smile on his face.
“Are you excited to be going back?” You ask him. He smiles, leaning in for a quick kiss.
“Yeah. I mean, I know its only been two months, but after spending a year around them non-stop, it feels weird to be away. But I wouldn’t want life any other way right now.” You lean against his chest for a few moments, basking in his warmth.
“We should get going,” he says, suddenly pulling away. “Don’t wanna be late for your own birthday party.”
“I wouldn’t mind being late if it meant I get more time with you,” you murmur to yourself.
“I heard that,” he smirks, picking his and your duffle bags up and heading towards the door.
“Fucking werewolf hearing,” you grumble, following behind him and locking the door to your apartment.
It was a long drive, about four hours, but Paul made it worthwhile. He made a playlist of your recent favorite songs, and a few songs you both have deemed “yours”, meaning either you have listened to the songs together, he relates it to your relationship, or they remind him of you.
Finally, you arrive just in time for lunch, which Emily just finished preparing as you step into the house.
“Hey! The birthday girl is here!!” She shouts, setting the utensil in her hand down on the counter, walking around to greet you.
Paul takes your bags to the guest room, since Sam and Emily are allowing you to stay with them, after Paul and his father had a falling out right before he moved to Seattle with you.
He was upset that Paul was moving away just because the Cullen’s are no longer a threat to the reservation. Paul made it clear that you are his future and he wants to start a new life, now that he isn’t exactly needed, and his father blew up in anger.
Paul ended up driving over to your place to spend the night and cool off, since you are the only one that is able to keep his anger down. He ended up going back home to pack stuff up while his dad was at work, and that was the last time he saw him.
“Finally. My legs were so cramped and all I could think about was your food.” She pulls you in for a hug just as the pack files into the kitchen from the backyard.
“(Y/N)! When did you get here?!” Jared yells happily, picking you up and spinning you around. You giggle as he sets you back down, the rest of the guys crowding around, smiles on their faces.
“We just did,” you say.
“We?” His eyebrows furrow, confused as ever. You give him a questioning look.
“Yes…we as in me and my boyfriend…? The one who you consider a brother?” Paul appears behind them, pushing his way through them to find his place next to your side.
“I’ve only been gone for two months and you’re already forgetting me?” Paul sighs, shaking his head; he can’t help but break into a laugh, greeting the others with hugs.
After lunch and catching up with everyone, Seth drags you to the living room to give you your presents. Paul brings you to sit on the couch next to him.
“Here, open mine first,” Seth says, handing you a rather large box wrapped quite poorly. “I’m not the best at wrapping.”
“I see that,” you chuckle, ripping the paper off of it. “But that doesn’t matter.” With the paper off, you undo the tape keeping the box shut, and finally get it all opened.
Your jaw drops as you pull the item from the box. It’s a wooden shark head popping out of water, one that resembles the image on the Jaws movie poster. It was painted gray, aside from a small, wavy block at the bottom, which was painted blue like the ocean, and the teeth of its open mouth, which were white.
“I made it,” Seth beams, watching your expression as you examine it. Turning it over, you see his initials and a small message, ‘for (Y/N) and Paul’s home’.
“I love it,” you tear up, running your hands along the slightly rough wood where yours and Paul’s names were written in permanent marker. Paul leans his head on your shoulder, looking down at your lap with you.
“It’s very fitting,” Paul says. “And you did a great job making this, dude. I mean, it looks incredible.”
“Thank you,” Seth smiles, sitting back down on the floor next to the couch.
You open everyone else’s gifts, but Paul seems to be keeping his for later. When the presents end, Emily calls for dessert, which are eclairs she made from scratch. The guys all swarm to the kitchen, but Paul brings you outside to the back porch.
The awning covered the two of you from the rain and he sat you down on the porch swing. He throws his arm around you and you rest your head on his shoulder.
“I have a gift for you, but I wanted to do it in a more private setting,” Paul says after a few moments. You sit up eagerly, wanting to know what it is. He chuckles and pulls a small box from his pants pocket.
“I know it seems small, but it definitely wasn’t cheap,” he says.
“It doesn’t matter. Whatever it is, I’ll love it.” You rip the paper off the box and open what you now know is a ring box.
In the box sits a beautiful curved gold band. There are three diamonds on each side of a small, long oval diamond; it looks as if something is to sit above it.
“Paul, it’s beautiful, but it looks like it’s supposed to go with a set,” you bring up, gazing up at the bright expression on his face.
“Yeah, well, this is, um, well, it’s half of your engagement ring,” he admits quietly. Tears spring to your eyes right away and you slide the dainty ring onto your ring finger, which fits perfectly.
“Oh, Paul, it’s perfect. I love it so much,” you tell him. He leans in and kisses you as sweetly as ever.
“I didn’t exactly want to tell you it’s your engagement ring, but I figured we are going to get married, so it’s not exactly a surprise.”
“As long as I don’t know what the actual ring looks like, and the proposal is a surprise, like location and set up and time, I’m happy,” you respond, resting your head back on his shoulder. He kisses your forehead, laying his cheek in the same spot afterwards.
His eyes fall closed, enjoying the peace, but that is soon ruined by the pack storming outside, their laughter ruining the quiet, serene setting.
Embry hands you a plate of eclairs and Paul takes one, taking a big bite out of it.
“How’s Bella doing?” Seth asks you once everyone settles down in a spot. He was leaning against the railing across from you, with Embry and Quil on either side of him.
“She’s happy,” you let them know. Jacob sighs softly, shaking his head. “Alaska seems to be treating her well.”
“I would assume so. No sunshine, darkness for months on end at some points of the year, it’s perfect for leeches,” Jared snarkily replies. You giggle lightly, but can’t help but think that it could have been you. You could have been living with them if you had chosen Emmett.
You shake your head, not wanting to think about that anymore. You wanted to be present with your new family, the people you longed to be around.
Later that night, you get a text message from none other than Emmett, simply wishing you a happy birthday. But you couldn’t help but let your mind wander, and it got the best of you.
Paul was fast asleep, but you couldn’t seem to grow tired. So, you bundle up with a hoodie of Paul’s and a quilt and head out to the back porch to sit on the swing, staring out into the vast darkness.
You weren’t sure why you were anxious, but Emmett’s text brought back memories of your attack, especially with the conversation earlier about Bella and everything. How close you were to becoming one of them, the fact that you were actually wanting that life at one point.
Your alone time was broken by the door to the porch opening, and your boyfriend stepping outside.
“Hey,” he sleepily mumbles, taking a seat next to you. You lower the blanket so it is just on your legs and curl into his side, his body heat warming you up right away. “What are you doin’ out here?” He yawns after his question.
“Couldn’t sleep,” you murmur.
“Tell me what’s on your mind, pretty girl?” He whispers. Your heart flutters in your chest. Although you and Paul have been together, technically, for five months, he still managed to make you fluster and feel like a young girl in love with her first crush.
“With the conversation brought up earlier about Bella being in Alaska and everything, I guess I got to thinking about what my life would have been like if I went with them.” Paul sighs softly and holds you closer to him.
“Honestly, that’s why I couldn’t sleep much either. I mean, I knew you weren’t beside me anymore, so I came to see what was going on.”
“Sorry I woke you.”
“Don’t worry about that, baby.”
Silence falls between the two of you as you just enjoy the presence of one another.
“Every single day, I thank the skies that you stayed with me,” Paul whispers against your forehead. “For keeping you here on this Earth for another year, to see twenty-one, to not be frozen in time for all of eternity. I am so happy I get to grow old with you, have a family with you, love you for the rest of my life rather than leave you alone in the world.”
“Paul,” you suddenly detach from his side to sit upright, staring him in the eye. “I was meant to be with you. I love you with my entire heart, with my entire being, even. I knew I was made for you. And I’m sorry it took me almost being killed to realize that.”
“Hey, shh, shh, there’s no need to apologize, okay? What happened is behind us. You have nothing to worry about. I will protect you every second of my life.”
“And I look forward to it, Lahote. I am so happy with my human life, and I’m so fucking glad I made the right decision.”
“I will forever be grateful for it as well.” Paul kisses you deeply, tangling his hand in your hair at the back of your neck, keeping you close to him.
“Let’s head back to bed,” he breathes out when he pulls away.
“I wanna stay out here a little bit longer,” you protest. “Relishing the fact that I’m here with you, in Washington, pursuing my dreams and loving you, instead of in the frozen tundra of Alaska, undead and feasting on animals.” Paul chuckles and sits back in the swing, allowing you to lay against his chest.
“My beautiful human,” he whispers. “Forever by my side.”

Hey there I was wonder if I could have Carlisle x pregnant reader and he’s really possessive and protective of her and smutty please 😊
Author's Note: First of all, I am so sorry for my tardiness. This was requested like two months ago. Here it is now, again I'm sorry. I started writing it and took the longest time to keep coming to it. Procrastination is a bitch. Thank you so much and now enjoy reading this fluffy smut! ❤️
~~~
Possessive, Protective, and Pregnant
Y/N smiled as she waved to her brother, Sam. She'd stopped by the reservation today to visit her pack before returning back to the Cullens place, a container full of Emily's amazing chocolate muffins in her bag, eager to dive in.
"Don't eat 'em all in one night! You might also wanna talk to Carlisle, don't keep it to yourself too long!" her sister-in-law called.
Y/N nodded as she rolled her eyes a little. "Alright, Emily. See you later. Bye, Sammy!" Her big brother waved at her as she drove away. She didn't really know why she was so eager to have the muffins. She didn't usually like sweets and things all too much, but she couldn't wait to eat one - so much so that she opened the container and grabbed one, eating it in her car on the way back to the house.
Stuffing the container back into her bag, she got out of the car after finishing her muffin and headed inside. She was greeted by Carlisle, who kissed her cheek happily. "How was your day with your brother?"
"It was fun, I enjoyed myself," she smiled sweetly.
"I'm glad." He paused for a moment, taking a couple breaths in before asking, "Is that…chocolate?"
She shrugged, "Uh, yeah. Emily made some." She slowly pulled the box out of her bag to show Carlisle. He eyed her with a confused look, "You hate chocolate."
She shrugged, looking away a little, "I mean, I don't mind chocolate."
"No," Carlisle chuckled, "You told me you absolutely hated chocolate."
"Well, uh, people change?" she offered. He smiled as he shook his head, his hand on her waist. He kissed her gently.
~
Y/N fidgeted with the top corner of the page in her book, bored to death as she had nothing to do. Carlisle was in his office, doing some late work. He'd thought she had already gone to sleep - she did announce that, after all.
But to be honest, she was too bored and too awake to sleep. She'd thought reading the book would help, but she sighed and gave up on it as she stood from the bed, stretching her limbs.
Maybe cuddling would help. Just as she was going to do just that with Carlisle, she decided against it. He was working, she didn't want to disturb him.
So instead she decided to get a midnight snack - or after midnight snack. It was almost one-thirty.
She stepped lightly as she made her way to the garage, opening and closing the door quietly to not make noise. She didn't want to alert Carlisle. Living with vampires made her excellent at sneaking.
She pulled the box slowly out of the closet, keeping the noise low. She opened the lid to the box and smiled at her secret stash of sweets. She had no idea why she had it, but she wanted sweets.
She pulled out a chocolate bar, breaking off a piece and popping it in her mouth. She smiled as she sat there, savoring the sweet treat.
She was there for a while, divulging herself in her sweets. She didn't overindulge, but she didn't quite enjoy herself.
When Carlisle finished work for tonight in his office, he headed to the bedroom to see Y/N. When she wasn't in the bed, his brows furrowed and he started searching the house for her. She wasn't in the living room, or the kitchen. He checked the bathrooms that were unnecessary before she came but she wasn't in.
When he reached the garage, he opened the door and froze at the door with a confused look. "Y/N?" he asked.
She froze and slowly turned to look up at him, a hand held up to her mouth holding a cookie. She took a bite from the cookie and nervously said, "Hello, Carlisle… What's up?"
He blinked a couple of times, walking over to her, "What on Earth are you doing?"
She shrugged, dusting her hands off, "Uh…midnight snack?"
"You hate sweets," he accused again, "Why do you have a whole box of them?"
She sighed, "I dunno, I just want sweets."
Carlisle looked her over, taking the pack of cookies she began reaching for. She'd already eaten an entire sleeve. He set the box to the side, "Are you alright?"
Y/N chewed her bottom lip, trying to formulate the sentence she'd been so scared to admit. She tried to reach for her cookies, but he held them out of reach. "You'll get sick," he scolded, "Tell me what's wrong."
She sighed heavily before deciding just to blurt it out. Just rip it off like a band-aid.
"I'm pregnant."
Carlisle froze, and Y/N winced. She waited anxiously for him to react, to do something. Carlisle smiled and she calmed. Then he chuckled lightly and shook his head, "No, you're not. It's not possible."
A weight fell over her before she sighed, "I am. I'm a werewolf, so I can have kids, and well… maybe that's enough. Plus, I took a test three times. I didn't know how to tell you, I didn't want…"
Carlisle's smile had fallen. When she trailed off, he laid a hand on her cheek, "You didn't want what?"
"I didn't want you to leave me," she muttered, looking away.
He frowned deeply, cupping her face with both her hands now so she would look at him. She searched his eyes as he gazed into hers. "Y/N," he spoke softly, "I could never leave you. And you can tell me anything. You shouldn't have to be afraid. I love you, and I want the best for you. I'll never leave you."
She smiled and asked, "And…what about the baby?"
His smile grew again and her heart felt light. He told her, "Well, I've got to start thinking about names."
She chuckled as she hugged him tightly. She was elated by the fact that he was accepting her.
~
The next couple of weeks was spent with heavy preparation for the child. At first, everyone was concerned because the baby would be half vampire. Surely that had to be dangerous for Y/N, right?
But the child was also part werewolf and Y/N wasn't human. She was stronger than a human, she could handle a vampire baby.
The news was quick - too quick even - to spread across the town. The Cullens were having a baby.
They got lucky too - the baby grew close to the same pace as a normal one would. No one would be concerned about how quickly Y/N's belly would grow, Carlisle predicted six months. It was early, yes, but it was long enough that no one would question it.
Only two months in and Y/N realize just exactly what it meant to be Carlisle's mate. She knew he was protective, yes, but it truly surprised her just how protective he could get over her.
Especially when it was just some kid.
They were out getting groceries for the house when some punk kid walked past them. He saw her belly through her shirt and chuckled slightly, "Heh, that's a big one."
He was given no escape as Carlisle grabbed the collar of his shirt, pulling him over without hurting him. He let go of him and the kid looked between the two of them.
"Was that appropriate?" Carlisle asked as he looked down at the kid, the disappointed dad look written all over his face.
Y/N tried not to laugh.
"She's pregnant, not 'big'. Even if she was, that isn't something you need to be saying about anyone, regardless of the circumstance. I want you to apologize."
The look Carlisle gave intensified and she could have sworn the kid shuddered. He turned his gaze to her and spoke, occasionally glancing back at Carlisle, "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to be rude. I won't do it again, I swear."
She nodded, "Thank you. Go on before he continues his lecture."
The kid swiftly thanked her and left. She smiled up at Carlisle, shaking her head, "You know I'm a werewolf right?"
"Of course, dear."
"And that I know how to take insults and remarks?"
"Yes, but that doesn't mean you should have to," he kissed her forehead and they continued walking.
She laughed lightly as she kept walking with him. He told her gently, "I'll always protect you. Even if it is from punk kids calling you 'big'."
Y/N shook her head as she laughed, hand tight in his hold as she walked with him. He looked down at her, a smile on his face as he watched her. She looked up at him, "What?"
He shrugged, "You're glowing." She chuckled again.
Some GarmaKrux Headcanons
because boy I am going to need it before the angst hits (Not helping myself by listening to “What Could’ve Been”)
Garm has always thought of Krux's eyes as pretty. Told him that it made him think of topaz. Krux said the same thing with Garm's eyes being like a dark red mixed with magenta, looked like red wine basically.
There was a night where Krux found Garm skulking on the roof of the monastery, and he ended up surprising him and making him slip off the roof. Thankfully, Garm landed in the courtyard and not off the mountain. Krux was going to help him up, but he ended up laying on the ground with him and they just stargazed most of the night away.
It's no secret that Krux was always fascinated by history. Even if Garm lived through it, he doesn't mind him rambling on about it. Garm would add the missing details to help paint the bigger picture.
Speaking of pictures, yes, Garm did in fact keep pictures of his significant others. Garm made a few copies, but Krux got to keep the original picture of them. Heck they might have a photo strip from a booth and Krux thought he lost that one, but Garm actually held onto it.
You remember that kissing scars trope? Yeah. Garm doesn't leave a bit of skin untouched. He doesn't even avoid the scars. He'll especially kiss Krux's scarred up hands. Krux thinks he does it because he feels guilty for taking his powers, something Krux considered important, away from him. He’s half right. Garm’s other reason was so Krux didn’t have to feel bad about his scars and that he was still handsome.
So GarmaKrux Married AU? I still think of this. Just older Garm and Krux getting married present day while they’re both good dads to Lloyd. Although, I do want Younger GarmaKrux to get married. Some angst still happens to them but it’ll eventually work out and Krux just bonds with Baby Lloyd to the point where Lloyd thinks he has two dads.
Mythological/Fantasy AU: A big, rough, loud Oni-Werewolf Garmadon and a regal, reclusive Vampire Krux being together sounded so ridiculous that no one, other than Acronix and Wu, believed it. Although he doesn't say it, Krux likes that the Oni blood in Garm makes him a long living partner. Sometimes Krux forgets to feed and Garm has to be the one to remind him. He'll even offer his own blood up just for easier access. He's thankful that Krux doesn't eat more than his body weight. Of course, Garm sometimes forgets that feeding time is oddly intimate with him and Krux.
Some NSFWish headcanons down below
Garm was definitely a bottom for most of his relationships, but really, he just thought himself too big considering his Oni-Dragon heritage messing with his development. Krux changed his mind by still taking the reins and gave him one hell of a ride. Garm decided to be a switch and he hadn’t looked back since then.
I think some of his relationships were more like flings and he hadn’t settled down for a while. However, he was kind and considerate to some of his flings. Krux happened to have been shown that softer side of him and it was after that Krux caught feelings in the middle of their playtime. Garm hadn’t caught on to his feelings until years later when he finally thought about it.
It's true that Garm encountered Krux in the museum during season two. Garm had figured it out that it was Krux because there was so much giving him away to Garm. They did have a fight and Krux almost got him down, but Garm just used his four arms to pin him. The encounter ended in them having a drink, reminiscing on old times and perhaps re-enacting some old memories when they were young and in bed.
That encounter ended in a hookup/one night stand. (Krux had an absolutely great time. Garm was just that good.) Garm had to stay because Krux just wouldn't let go of him. He didn't want to let go. When his hold loosened, Garm made sure Krux was comfortable before he left. He may have been evil, but he wasn't heartless.
Krux calls him “my lord” and when that title drops and Garm became sensei, it wasn’t too hard to call him “My Master” Either way, Garm found it extremely hot to hear him say that. Makes it kind of hard for Garm to stay in control though.
Just like in my AU, the fantasy AU has feral Garm. Krux basically said, and I quote, he “should’ve warmed up for this but the instincts mode isn’t so bad.” Also, Garm still has the anatomy of a werewolf, as he should, and they get stuck together so it’s just the matter of Krux getting comfortable and warm for a long while. The vampire doesn't mind though. He likes how warm he is, inside and out.
Dean died at the ripe old age of 85.
In his lucid moments during the days leading up to his passing, in which Dean was just as sharp and as bright as he was fifty years ago, he remarked that people must think he’d robbed the cradle with a “hot piece” such as Castiel hanging around him.
“You don’t mind that I’m a wrinkly, senile, crotchety old bastard?” Dean had asked, more than once, but he had always said it with a smile. And Castiel would smile back, replying with the same answer the answer many times, in many ways:
“You’re not senile.”
“Old, but not a bastard.”
“I thought I was the crotchety one.”
“I don’t mind.”
Then Dean would smile, and it would light up the room, and Castiel would wonder again how he came to deserve the focus, let alone the affection, of such a man.
“It’s not about deserving, Cas,” Dean had said, half-whispered in the middle of the night a few short months after they had begun to share the bed they laid in. “It’s… fuck, well I don’t know what it’s about. But people don’t get what they deserve, not most of the time.”
Castiel frowned, furrowing his brows. “They should,” he grumbled.
“Well if people got what they deserved, they’d… I don’t know, Sam would’ve actually become a lawyer, stayed in school. Jo, Ellen, Bobby, they’d all still be here. I’d get mauled by a werewolf or something, go out with a bang, and Baby,” Dean said sternly, as though chastising the universe itself for such an injustice, “Would never get so much as a scratch on her.”
“You think that’s what you deserve?” Castiel’s voice was soft, not wanting to disturb the still of the night, but steely as he considered even the possibility of Dean’s violent end.
Dean registered that, swallowing, “I don’t know. I guess I just never thought I’d even make it this far. Hunters have the shortest lifespans of any human subspecies,” Dean cracked a smile, but his heart wasn’t in the joke. Castiel knew Dean was doing the math in his head. He knew Dean was mentally recalling how long it had been since Bobby left for heaven. Tallying up the number of people who were gone because of self-sacrifice, mistakes, pure dumb luck. Counting exactly how many years he had outlived his own mother.
Castiel had wrapped his arms around Dean then, embracing him, surrounding him, and they curled into each other completely. Burying himself in Castiel’s neck, Dean had never felt so close to him, and yet so far away. “You don’t have to follow the same patterns if you don’t want to, Dean,” Castiel stated, as if it were that easy. “Do you want to?”
“Want to what?”
“Get mauled by a werewolf?”
Dean sniffed in laughter, and that was answer enough.
Castiel found himself stroking Dean’s hair, an action he felt suited him. He thought for a moment in the stillness and in the space between their breaths. “Maybe it’s idealistic of me, but I still think people should get what they deserve. Even- no, especially you.”
Dean took his time answering, opening his mouth several times before actually saying, “Sometimes I don’t think I know what I deserve.”
“I guess we’ll just have to figure that out together then. We have time,” Castiel kissed Dean’s forehead and he sighed at the touch. “We have plenty of time. Heaven will wait for you, no matter how long.”
Dean looked up at him then with a pout, “You sound pretty confident in that statement for a dude who hasn’t shown up to heavenly chorus practice in a few years.”
Castiel smiled, “I’d rather be here with you. Always have.”
The man blushed. “Well, if I go… I mean, wherever I go… Where will you end up?”
“I could go with you.”
“Where?”
Castiel closed the distance between them fully, thumbing across Dean’s cheek as they kissed. “Anywhere. If you want me there, I will be there, whether it’s here or heaven. I’ll be there.”
“For how long?”
“For however long you want me to be.”
Dean kissed back, his fingers tangling in Castiel’s hair. “Yeah. Okay.”
  Sam went not long after Dean. It wasn’t a surprise; it was his time as well. His children were grown, his grandchildren almost grown, Castiel knew they’d miss him but that they’d be all right. And they knew to call on “Uncle Cas” if they weren’t, even the little ones who didn’t understand exactly how they were related, or why Great Uncle Dean's husband was only about as old as their parents.
“I mean I love the little gremlins,” Dean had said, cracking open a beer after a long few days of babysitting Sam and Eileen's girls while the expecting parents were in the hospital. He was exhausted, they both were, but beaming from meeting the newest member of the Winchester clan: a healthy baby boy named Robert. “But have you seen Sam’s house? Goddamn mess in there.”
“You… don’t want to have some of your own?” Castiel had asked carefully, taking the beer Dean held out for him.
“You’re making them sound like trading cards. I don’t know, I- I guess I never thought too hard about it.” Castiel could tell this was a lie by the way Dean didn’t quite meet his eyes. “Wouldn’t know what to do with a kid if I had one.”
“Do you think you’d be a good father?”
Castiel had met John Winchester, in Hell. Well, he hadn’t exactly met him. He had really only passed by John’s cell, stole a glance at the infamous hunter on his way to retrieve Dean’s soul. He’d never told Dean what he saw, they were not close enough at the time. He wasn’t sure if Dean would even want to know. Castiel had almost spoken about it many times, but whenever Dean talked about John, “Dad,” a look crossed over his face, sometimes for only a second. A furrowing of brows, a tight smile, a quick transition to happier subjects.
The same look crossed over Dean’s face as soon as Castiel had asked the question.
“Wow. Um, loaded question there, Cas.”
He waited for Dean to meet his eyes before continuing, “I think you would be.”
“Do- wait,” Dean shook his head, trying to understand where Castiel was going with all of this, “Do you want kids?”
“I want you to live a normal life, Dean. I want to be able to give you what you want.”
“Okay, lots of stuff to unpack here. First of all, a normal life isn’t and never was an option,” Dean leaned back against the counter, “I think we can agree on that. Second of all, you didn’t answer my question.”
“...And third of all?” Castiel prompted.
“No, second of all first. Do you want kids?”
Castiel sighed, taking a swig of his beer, considering his words. “I’m an angel, Dean-”
“Is that so!” Dean raised his eyebrows, then squinted as if in deep thought, “Weird, somehow I never noticed.”
That deserved a well-placed eyeroll, but Castiel still had a point to make. “We don’t- I’m just trying to…” he set his beer down. “I don’t know. But that doesn’t matter, what matters is that I would love and care for a child, if it were ours. If we decided that was something we wanted, I would be so happy to raise them, with you. I’d be terrified,” Castiel admitted, “At the enormous and important responsibility, but I would love doing it, if… if it was with you. I just want you to know that, I guess,” Castiel shrugged, “I don’t want you to think it’s not an option for us, if you want it to be.”
“Okay…” Dean was thinking, swirling the beer around his glass. He pointed the mouth at Castiel, “You’re still avoiding my question,” Castiel really rolled his eyes this time, “But I don’t really think it’s for me, all that white picket fence stuff. If you really wanted a kid, I would definitely hit the library and read all those, I don’t know, fucking parenting guides, and take the Mommy and Me classes, whatever. And I think you’d be a good father, better than me, I’d just let them eat gummy worms and shoot slingshots.”
“Children love gummy worms. They listen and will behave better when offered gummy worms,” Castiel knew this for a fact from very recent personal experience, “I don’t see how gummy worms could pose an issue. Slingshots, however-”
“Okay so maybe I’m overestimating your abilities a little,” Dean held up a hand, “But still, I… I like this,” he gestured to the space between them and around them, “I like us. I like waking up to a clean kitchen and sleeping in on weekends. I like not having to ask more than one person whether or not I can take a drive by myself or crank my music really loud at midnight. And I fucking hate Paw Patrol.”
Castiel smiled.
“Sam and Eileen always need babysitters. That’s good enough for me right now.”
“You’ll tell me though, if this is something you really want,” Castiel insisted, “If you think about it and decide something else.”
“Sure.”
“Promise.”
“Okay, fine, I promise,” Dean took a step forward and leaned in for a kiss then. Castiel could taste the beer on Dean’s tongue and sighed. Dean smiled against Castiel’s lips, lowering his voice to a comical level, “We could, uh, you know, try and make some babies,” Dean waggled his eyebrows and Castiel pushed Dean’s laughing face away, but grabbed his hand, turning towards their room.
They hadn’t spoken about it again, not seriously anyway. They got a dog. Dean opened a vintage car garage. Castiel learned how to bake. They took long road trips to the beaches in California, wandered through roadside attractions like Carhenge in Nebraska and Cadillac Ranch in Texas. They bought decidedly way too much merchandise at Oklahoma’s National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum. And maybe they killed the occasional vampire, the wayward poltergeist, but the occasions became less and less. There were younger, more spry hunters on the road now, always welcome at the bunker to look through their library or ask advice on a particularly troublesome spirit. Sam even coerced Dean into holding what became a yearly “conference,” “What are we, a tech startup?” for the next generation of hunters to learn from the legendary brothers.
So maybe they spent more time at home than on the road, but home suited them. Routine suited them like Castiel never could have predicted it would. It wasn’t a white picket fence, but it wasn’t a lonely highway either. Dean would joke about how “boring” they’d become, but Castiel reveled in the repetition. The three hundredth time Dean brought Castiel coffee in bed was just as lovely as the third. The five hundredth time Castiel cooked dinner passed without fanfare, though Dean hugging him from behind, chin hooked over Castiel’s shoulder as he whisked, felt like fanfare enough. The one thousandth kiss they shared was in their bed, lazily breathing each other in as the first beams of sunlight shone through the window after a week of straight rain. Home, a thing he and Dean had never known in their youth, held the majority of their most precious, most banal memories. But still, Castiel always looked forward to those moments speeding down a desert highway when Dean would reach for his hand, turn his head to meet Castiel’s eyes, and smile.
Time took its time with them.
It seemed the opposite with Sam’s children, who grew up faster than Castiel could keep track of. And as they grew from waddling toddlers to full-fledged human beings, Castiel was fascinated, enamored, but Dean was simply proud. He attended their tournaments, their decathlons. He went to their graduations, weddings, barbecues, and Castiel went with him. They took the kids to concerts and movies, parks and shooting ranges, and Castiel never got tired of the smile on Dean’s face when they threw their small arms around Dean’s neck and called him their “Cool Uncle.” “Hear that, Cas? That means you’re the No Fun Uncle. The No-Funcle.”
And as the crowned Cool Uncle, he teased Sam mercilessly about his minivan and his “#1 Dad” mugs, but Castiel knew how proud Dean was of him too. How glad he was that Sam got the future he wanted, and how grateful he was that that future included him.
The brothers still fought. They still bickered, pranked, and glowered. Sam complained that Dean let his kids use power tools too young when they visited, and Dean complained that Sam’s kids were too old to have never heard “Stairway to Heaven.” The usual, the routine, many times over. But they never lied to each other, at least not about the important things, not anymore. And Castiel was welcome in Sam and Eileen’s house and lives, an honor he felt he didn’t deserve, but as Dean said, maybe it wasn’t about deserving.
It was Eileen who noticed Castiel first as he entered the hospital room the day he'd been informed that Sam Winchester was finally coming home. He didn't have to tell Eileen; she saw it on Castiel's face. They’d already spoken, he’d prepared her for the eventuality a few days prior. Eileen smiled, looking back at her husband, teasing him lightly, but Castiel knew she was holding back on her usual snark because Sam looked, well, tired. Turning away from Sam, Eileen signed, “Are you here for him?”
Castiel shook his head. “No, but someone will be here soon.”
“You mean they haven’t given you reaper duty yet?” Sam joked from his horizontal position, speaking and signing with his usual quick wit, but not with his usual articulation. Castiel had seen him argue with Dean for fifty years like it was his job, he was accustomed to the precision with which Sam had always wielded his words. Not today.
“I don’t think I’d be very good at it,” Castiel stepped closer so that Sam wouldn’t have to crane his head, “I’m not very persuasive.”
“No kidding,” Sam shakily clasped Castiel’s hand and grinned. “I’m surprised Dean even went with you.”
“It took less persuading than you’d think.”
“How is he?” Eileen asked, but she was smiling, so she knew the answer.
“He’s good,” Castiel smiled back, “Getting what he deserves.”
Sam smirked, but his head sunk back into his pillow as if relieved. “And I bet he’s complaining about it non-stop. Asshole never knew how to take a vacation.”
“Neither do you,” Eileen levelled her husband with a fond look.
“We’ve taken vacations!”
“You always wanted to go somewhere exotic and then you’d just end up in the library. Remember Berlin?”
“They had… well I wasn’t going to find those editions in America, and-”
Sam and Eileen bickered for a bit, and Castiel did end up backing Eileen’s points more often than not, so eventually Sam recognized that he was outnumbered on this particular case.
Castiel bid his goodbyes just in time as the nurse entered the room to check Sam’s vitals. Her tone was cheerful, but Castiel could tell that she too knew what was coming.
“Well… I’ll see you soon, buddy, huh?” Sam smiled at Castiel as confidently as he could muster for Eileen’s sake, but Castiel knew behind those laugh lines Sam wasn’t so sure of himself. Castiel supposed that worry wasn’t to be unexpected from a chosen one of Hell, Lucifer's vessel, the boy Castiel had once called an “abomination.”
But Castiel smiled, giving Sam’s shoulder one last firm squeeze. “You will.”
  When Dean died, at the ripe old age of 85, he knew what to expect.
He’d visited heaven before. Been there, done that, got the t-shirt. Not an exciting place, but exciting wasn’t necessarily good. Hell had been exciting, and he was in no hurry to return there. Purgatory had been exciting in a different way, years later he swore the stench still lingered on his skin. Sometimes, when he would lose himself in his “senior moments,” he thought he was back in that bloody in between. Or back in hell. Or had gone to heaven. “Times and places are difficult to navigate when your brain’s turning into gummy worms,” he told Cas once. He didn’t remember saying this a few hours later, but that didn’t make it any less true.
His brain was sure full of them gummy worms now as he clung to his body and to his life. He wasn’t completely sure where he was. Bobby’s? The bunker? His childhood home? Sammy had come to see him earlier, at least the kid had looked like Sammy… No, fuck, that was his grand-nephew, Cas had reminded him of that. Sam, his brother Sam, was in the next room. That's right, he’d told the asshole to give him some space, stop smothering him. He sort of wished he was here now though. And Cas, Cas was here, he knew that, but only because the angel was right in front of him. Cas, his friend, was holding Dean’s hand, talking about what their grand-nieces and nephews were doing in school. Dean could swear he already knew these things, but they still sounded new when Cas said them.
Dean looked over at him, and Cas was smiling.
He tried to speak, but the words stuck in his throat. Cas helped him swallow some cool water. Dean cleared his throat, “Bet you’ve been waiting for this for a while.”
Castiel cocked his head, the smile fading. Fifty some odd years and he still had that same confused look. “Waiting for what?”
“Me to beef it, finally. I know this hasn’t been easy, watching me… seeing me like…” Dean took a shallow breath. “No matter where I go next, at least I won’t be a senile senior citizen.”
“Dean,” Cas said, rubbing the back of Dean’s liver spot-covered hand, “Please listen to me very carefully.”
“Got my hearing aids in, go ahead,” Dean joked.
Cas smiled softly again. “It has been the greatest privilege of my life, my existence, to watch you grow old. I feel honored that you allowed me to experience that. Time’s different for me too,” Cas kissed Dean’s hand, “Space and time were never precious to me, not in the stretch of infinity. Not until you. Not until I was able to see you live your life and live it well.”
Tears welled in the corners of Dean’s eyes. He furiously tried to blink them away, but Cas was already there, dabbing carefully with a handkerchief. “I’m… I’m scared, Cas. I know I shouldn’t be, I’ve seen it all. I’ve beefed it a few times already. But maybe that’s why I’m scared? Because… I know what comes next. What could come next. And this is it, right? No more resets?”
Cas nodded.
Dean took a deep, shuddering breath. “If I don’t end up in heaven-”
“You will.”
“If I don’t, that’s fine, maybe it’s what I deserve, and that’s fair. But… will I see you again?”
“Dean,” Cas said sadly, but with his trademarked firmness, “You are going to paradise. And if for some reason, a completely incorrect and insane reason, you don’t? I dragged your soul out of the flames once, I will do it again. I would do it as many times as I needed to.”
Dean shook his head slightly, “Not fair.”
“It’s not about fair. It’s about the truth. Whether you believe it or not, ET goes home.”
Dean chuckled weakly. He was tired. He didn’t want to let go. He wanted to let go so badly.
He felt the bed move as Cas climbed under the covers with him. The angel curled around him, enveloping him. Dean could swear he felt the brush of feathers cradling him and pulling him closer, but he couldn’t muster the ability to reach for them, stroke them like he used to. “Sleep, Dean. I’ll be here when you wake up. Wherever, whenever here is. That’s where I’ll be. Wherever you go, I’ll go with you.”
“Swear?”
Castiel kissed his forehead. “I swear.”
  Dean opened his eyes.
The phrase, “I don’t think we’re in Kansas anymore” popped into his head, but he suspected, greatly, that he was, in fact, in Kansas. The blowing fields of wheat tipped him off to that.
No, wait. That wasn’t a field, it was a… sandy beach. It looked kind of like that beach he and Cas had stumbled upon driving down the Pacific Coast Highway, what was it called? The one where they’d had to hike down from the lookout point? The one where after they’d trudged back up the trail, they’d sat in the car and looked out over the sea as the sun set? The one where Castiel had smiled at him and the light glinted in his blue eyes and Dean had kissed Cas for the first time ever because he just couldn’t stop himself?
Muir Beach, Dean remembered, blushing at the memory.
But just as soon as he’d reached the end of that thought, it wasn’t the ocean anymore. It was a lake. On the lake was a pier. He’d seen that pier before, couldn’t remember exactly where though.
Then without warning, but without alarm, Dean saw someone standing on the end of the dock. A young man with light brown hair and a sweet smile Dean would recognize anywhere.
Jack waved, walking up casually, “Hey, Dean.”
Dean grinned and pulled him into a solid hug. “Jack. I missed you buddy, how have you been? Where, uh… are we in…”
Jack chucked, “I think you know where we are.”
“Yeah, but I don’t know know, this could… I could be dreaming or some shit, and I guess even in a dream you could say whatever I wanted you to say, so-”
“Dean,” Jack stopped him, “This is heaven. You are in heaven.”
A relieved but small smile spread over Dean’s face. “Cool…”
“I’m not usually here to meet people who pass on, but we weren’t going to miss your arrival.”
“We?”
“Hello, Dean.”
Dean turned around. There was Cas, beaming at him.
“Cas…” Dean reached to embrace him too, only now noticing that the hands that reached out were not as wrinkled as they’d been when he last saw them. He hugged Cas tightly, relieved more than he wanted to admit. “You’re here.”
“I’m here,” Cas’s hand went to Dean’s cheek, holding him in a kiss. They separated, foreheads resting against each other. Cas’s eyes twinkled, “We had an appointment.”
“Yeah, yeah,” Dean took a step back, seeing Jack grinning out of the corner of his eye. “Is, uh… is anyone else coming? Or is this the welcoming party?”
“They’re all waiting for you,” Cas put his hand down, and as he did, it was stopped mid-air, as if resting on something solid. Dean blinked, and there was Baby, new as the day she was made, parked on a long, long road that stretched far out of sight. “Any time you’re ready,” Cas tossed something in Dean’s direction, “we can go.”
Dean caught the keys on instinct, they jingled on the simple ring.
Any time you’re ready, we can go.
He twirled them around the end of his finger a couple times, a thought itching at his brain. Or a couple dozen thoughts.
Cas gave him a look, then turned to Jack, “Could you give us a moment?”
“Yeah, I’ll go get everything ready,” Jack blipped out.
“Get what ready?” Dean asked.
“Dean,” he turned around to face Cas whose brows were knit in worry, bright blue eyes narrowed, “Are you okay?” Dean realized he hadn’t seen Cas clearly for a few years, not since before the cataracts. He’d never gotten completely used to that piercing gaze.
Dean blinked. “Yeah, I… I just… I’m here. Really here.”
“Yes, Dean.”
“And… you’re here.”
Cas gave him that look like he was being patient on purpose, “Yes, Dean.”
“And… fuck,” Dean stood at sudden attention, “I left Sam down there, is he okay?”
Catching Dean's hands in his own, Cas rubbed comforting circles into Dean's skin. "Sam is fine. He was there when you left. That's why I was a little late, Eileen had only just gotten home and I didn't want to leave before she could be there beside him.
"Okay," Dean took a deep breath, concentrating on the physical contact, grounding himself in Cas’s movements, "Okay. I mean I know he's gonna be fine, he was always fine without me," Dean said, almost to himself.
"And you'll see him soon."
The abrupt return of Dean’s panicked look made Cas smile a little, shake his head, "Not that soon, Dean. Don't worry."
"Right. Of course, yeah,” Dean looked around, down the road, the back to his car, out past the waving grain that had returned inexplicably. “Well,” Dean flashed what he thought was a very convincing smile, letting Cas’s hands go as he tossed the keys once and caught them, heading towards the car, “Time to hit the road, huh?”
"Wait,” the suspicious squint was back as Cas caught Dean’s arm, “Something else is bothering you."
Dean turned around, and the ocean was back. The ocean he’d taken a trip to see, had selfishly insisted Cas come along for the ride for.
He sighed. "I just…” Dean ran a hand through his hair, “I don't know, I guess it just don't sit right that I’m… I'm gonna see Mom and Bobby and Jo and Charlie and… everyone. How am I going to look them in the face and not feel guilty that I got decades that they’ll never have? And what did I do with that time, sit on my ass? Judge local car shows? Go to freaking baseball games?"
Cas nodded slowly, simply listening. He then hopped up and sat on the hood of the Impala, shoes and all. Dean shot him an offended look.
“She’s a memory of a car, Dean,” Cas rolled his eyes, “She isn’t going to dent.” He patted the spot next to him.
Dean hesitated, but under Cas’s stare, relented. When he was settled, Castiel laced their fingers together.
“I’ve been trying to convince you for all the time I’ve known you that you’re worthy. That you deserved to be saved. That you deserved to rest.” Cas looked down at their entwined hands, “I don’t think I ever really succeeded.”
“Sorry,” Dean muttered.
“You don’t have to apologize. I know you’ve been doing a thankless job ever since you carried Sam out of your burning home. Shit, even before that,” Dean cocked his head, Cas hardly ever cursed, “you were always trying to be the hero for your mother. Some people are at fault for that,” Cas’s eyebrows furrowed briefly, “but it’s human nature to be hard on ourselves and praiseworthy of others. You, in your limited experience, could not possibly know all of the things that you’ve done that have made a difference. But we’re-”
Jack suddenly blipped into existence, giving Castiel two big thumbs up, then blipped out again.
Dean turned, looking from the space Jack had stood back to Cas then back again, “What-”
Cas shook his head with a smile, “I could never tell you exactly what you’ve meant to the world. But we had a, uh, few volunteers that wanted to show you.”
“Cas, could you quit monologuing for a second and-”
Out of the corner of his eye, Dean saw movement. The endless sea became endless plains which became endless trees, the landscape changing at a rapid rate.
Dean looked back to Cas in confusion, but he didn’t look alarmed. He gave Dean a timid smile, kissed him behind his ear, and whispered, “Just watch.”
Dean watched. For a moment, the scenery couldn’t seem to decide what it wanted to be. Then, it decided not to decide. Grains of sand took the form of towering trees, a picnic table, a bench. Green lake water formed the shape of a small boy, hunched over and scribbling on the table. Lastly the wheat twirled and spun and became an all-too-familiar-looking young man wearing a jacket too big for his frame, walking over to the bench and sitting down across from the kid.
Lucas. The name came to Dean from deep in his memory, he was that quiet kid who drew Dean pictures of the ghost in the lake. The grain animated Dean’s smile as he talked, the figure of Lucas showed Dean his sketches. Their forms dissolved as the scene changed and Dean's form was pulling Lucas out of the water, the sheriff having paid his due.
The figure of Dean left, but Lucas stayed and was joined by his mother, Dean remembered her too. They embraced, and the figure of Lucas grew, changed into a young man, a husband, a father. Soon a half dozen figures were standing there, waving to Dean, and then they disappeared, melting back into water. Lucas was the last to go as he was the first to arrive. He signed a phrase to Dean, and Dean knew the words: Thank you, Dean Winchester.
Then the sand reformed into a schoolgirl, the shapes in the green water plaguing her with images of mirrors and Bloody Marys until Dean stepped in front of her, holding a mirror of grain in front of the cruel, refracted specter. It dissolved, and Dean’s form bade goodbye, but the girl remained. She grew too just like the boy did, becoming a professor, graduating with honors, writing dozens of books, and changing dozens of lives. She smiled, and waved, and dissolved as well.
The shapeshifters appeared next, the sand in the form of Sam’s friend Zach, his sister Becky, and even Dean’s false shifter form, but the true form in the too-large jacket blew them all away, leaving Becky waving goodbye. She too welcomed a family that appeared by her side, and they all looked so happy and grateful to have each other.
Again and again the scenes changed. Green waters showed the cities he had passed through, the homes that were kept from destruction, entire communities that were healed. The water formed and reformed into smiling faces and waving hands. Some of the people, Dean had known on Earth. Many of the places, Dean had remembered driving through. Most of the people and places, however, were foreign to Dean. He lost count of the number of strangers who appeared, the cities he’d never been to. He struggled to keep track as they cycled faster and faster, as numerous as the grains of sand and droplets of water they were made of. It seemed that a whole generation of people, all over the world, would-be victims of an apocalypse they never even knew was happening, knew him. Through words and cheers and song, they retold the tales of Dean and Sam Winchester, the tales they had only learned once they had passed on.
Throughout all of this, Cas pressed his shoulder to Dean’s, his presence grounding but not distracting. Dean’s grip on Cas’s hand grew tighter and tighter. Cas did not let go.
Eventually, the images and figures departed. The sand blew away, the waters swirled and dispersed, and the landscape made its final decision. Only a simple field of golden wheat remained, waving and rippling in the wind.
Only in that newfound silence did Dean notice he was crying. He shook his head, wiping the tears away furiously.
“Dean,” Cas whispered, and Dean turned to face him, vision blurred, Cas looking at him pleadingly. “You sacrificed so much for so many for so long. You don’t have to be strong right now. You don’t have to be strong ever again if you don’t want to. You have done enough.”
Castiel wiped an errant tear from Dean’s cheek, holding his face between his hands firmly, tenderly.
“You are, and always were, enough. Your job is done. Let. Go.”
Dean did.
Cas silently pulled Dean into his shoulder as he sobbed. Dean didn’t even know why he was crying, didn’t know what for. Maybe he was happy. Maybe he was grieving. Maybe he just felt… relief. He wasn’t sure the last time he felt such relief. He wasn’t sure he ever had truly felt it.
After some time, longer than he’d like to admit, Dean sniffed, wiped one hand over his face, and raised his head. Cas was waiting for him, looking at him with care. With love.
“I, uh… I don’t gotta sign any autographs, do I?”
Cas smiled, and pulled Dean in for a kiss. They stayed like that for a bit on the hood of the car, feeling the breeze, breathing in the fresh air. Dean thought he could hear music coming from somewhere, realizing that it was the car’s radio playing softly from the cab. He knew that any time he wanted, he could hop down from the hood of his car, slide into the driver’s seat with the love of his life on the passenger’s side, and carry on his wayward way. Down the road, through the endless fields, towards the ones he had loved and lost. But not yet, not quite yet, because he had time. Maybe in the end, time was all he had ever really wanted, even if he could never allow himself to ask for it.
Infinity stretched out in front of him like the fields of grain. It wasn’t an exciting infinity, but it was his. It was a long road, a family that waited for him, a shoulder to lean on. It was, at long last, a place to lay his weary head to rest.
