one thing i absolutely adore about the timeskip is how it gives us details about the characters we didn’t know much about before. like i know this probably isn’t true of EVERY character but looking at how many whose timeskip lives reflect their interests and such in high school (kenma, yachi, osamu, fukunaga, etc) then i’m willing to bet that a lot of the others had those hobbies and whatnot back when we first met them and i think that’s so cute??? like semi being a musician he probably had a guitar or something with him back in the dorms. kai became an arborist so maybe he liked taking walks to look at the trees and visited parks or had his own lil garden. lev and alisa might have played dress-up together when they were kids and could have gone shopping a lot in high school. akaashi became an editor so he was probably a giant bookworm and loved reading. like idk i just think it’s neat how it makes it feel like even in the future when we meet everyone again it really does feel like they’ve grown but haven’t changed at all y’know???

~ Karasuno High Bedtime Headcanons.

° Sawamura Daichi - Its either 9pm or 3 am there's no in between.

° Sugawara Koushi - Everyday he sleeps at a reasonable time like 2am y'know.

° Azumane Asahi - He sleeps at somewhere around 10pm to 11 pm on school days and when it's a holiday he blacks out at 8pm.

° Shimizu Kiyoko - Her sleeping schedule consists of just one time and that's 12am.

° Ennoshita Chikara - Normally sleeps at 12am or something like that but if he has to study then there's no sleep on the board.

° Narita Kazuhito - He sleeps during somewhere between 9.30pm to 10.30pm and sometimes it goes to 11 but nothing more than that.

° Kinoshita Hisashi - Its either "Sleep is for the weak." (Bedtime-Never) or " Never wake me up" ( Bedtime-Forever)

° Tanaka Ryunosuke - He's usually in bed by 11pm and he's already asleep but 11.01pm.

° Nishinoya Yuu - He sleeps a lot since he needs to grow so goes to sleep by 10pm to get his 8hrs.

° Hinata Shoyo - Takes inspiration from his Nishinoya senpai and goes to bed just as early as him.

° Kageyama Tobio - Goes to bed at 10 and falls asleep at 11.

° Yamaguchi Tadashi - If he doesn't have anymore work to do then it's bedtime.

° Tsukishima Kei - He's yams' inspiration for not having a fixed bedtime and sleeps when ever he feels sleepy.

° Yachi Hitoka - She goes to bed at around 10.30 and counts atleast 200 sheep before she actually falls asleep.

HQ!! BOYS WITH AN S/O IN A BAND

sfw; fluff; established relationships; gn!reader; reader is a drummer in lev’s and a guitarist in atsumu’s

ft: suna, hinata, lev, atsumu, yachi, bokuto

you know how small bands often hire photographers so they can post good pictures on social media for publicity? yeah, suna’s got you covered.

this man makes sure he’s right at the front and centre of every one of your gigs, snapping away, somehow managing to get the best angles and lighting every time.

he shares the photos with you afterwards in the greenroom, pulling you onto his lap and pointing out all his favourites — “you look so pretty leaning back like that, you should do it more often”.

you honestly didn’t know how hinata managed to balance his schedule so well — you could have sworn he had volleyball practice that night, but there he was, hopping about in the crowd.

he did have practice that night.

volleyball was super important to him, but so were you, so as soon as practice finished, he packed his bag as fast as possible and gunned it across town, mach twenty. lets just say the ticket guy was confused why a tiny ginger kid, horribly out of breath, was holding his ticket out to him like it was his only salvation.

what can he say, he’s a die hard fan.

having a tall boyfriend has it’s perks — knowing that lev can see you even though you were right at the back of the stage always boosted your motivation to perform well.

every gig he attended, you would make sure to do a little drumstick flip, just because you knew he thought it was the coolest thing in the world.

and not to mention videos — it was so rare for you to get any good ones, but with his height, lev could catch all your awesome moments, albeit you couldn’t really hear the drums over his excited cheering.

atsumu is determined to learn guitar for you — “we could be one of those cute couples on the internet, doin’ duets an’ shit, serious, babe”.

if you buy him a guitar for dummies book for christmas, expect lots of kisses in return, though prepare for even more whining for you to be the one to teach him.

love love loves when you sit him down to plaster cute hello kitty band aids over the blisters forming on his finger tips, gazing up at you with heart eyes as you scold him — “this could affect your setting you know?” — but you are touched that he would do this all for you.

you don’t need to provide free tickets for yachi — she works part time at the venue your band frequently performs at.

imagine her serving people drinks at the bar, occasionally throwing them off guard as she suddenly yells “yeah baby!” when your solo starts.

almost faints when you blow her a kiss from all the way over on stage, and a fellow coworker has to start fanning her with a dishcloth. it’s worth it though, to see the flustered expression on her face.

bokuto is very conflicted at your gigs. on one hand, he desperately wants to jump around and dance to your music. on the other, he’s very aware how big he is, and doesn’t want to accidentally crush someone.

half the time he can’t even pay attention, profusely apologising to the people behind him for blocking their view, despite them reassuring him multiple times that really, it’s okay.

after your gig has finished, he always manages to find you, picking you up and twirling around, showering you with compliments of how wonderful you are, as you blush at the crowd he’s drawing — some fans pulling out there phones to post about how cute their favourite band member is with their boyfriend.

coffee or tea??

tsukishima and yamaguchi are coffee drinkers, but tsukki puts more milk and sugar in it than is probably advisable (he carries a toothbrush with him that he thinks probably wards away cavities effectively enough). whereas yams takes his black normally. he picked up the habit in university for long nights studying, but has been trying to cut down and only have a few cups in the morning. their mug collection is starting to take over the kitchen because yamaguchi started unintentionally collecting them. he tends to cycle thru mainly the pokémon themed ones, but tsukki uses the same mug and washes it by hand every day so he can use it again (it’s big enough to hold all the milk sugar and coffee but still sits comfortable in his hand)

yachi and kageyama are tea drinkers. yachi mainly drinks herbal tea - lord knows she doesn’t need caffeine making her anxious - and she really likes rosehip tea and other sorts of nice floral teas. she has a really nice matching tea set for guests but she usually drinks out of the cartoon crow mug the boys got for her as a graduation present. kageyama is no where near as particular about his tea, he just has two types of generic tea bags, one green and one black, but he does drink a fair bit of it, and he leaves half drunk cups of tea all around the flat because he can’t stand when it gets cold. (ik about the boy’s milk obsession but i think that’s an out-and-about drink. at home he has tea.)

hinata doesn’t drink coffee or tea, he’ll have protein shakes for workouts, but otherwise he really only drinks water. winter mornings, he might heat it up and add lemon to it, but most of the time he’s more than happy to just have water. some people think it’s for the health benefits, and that’s a small part of it, but really he just… doesn’t really like coffee or tea.

I remember why I stopped reading this fic oh my god

#Yamaguchi would not ‘flirt with anything (sentient or not)’ he would not say ‘oh honey’ he would not be oblivious to how Tsukishima feels #YOU FUNDAMENTALLY MISUNDERSTAND EVERYRHING ABOUT HIS VERY SIMPLE CHARACTER #look as a yama fan I encourage expanding his character right #but in canon. his character is 1. social anxiety personified 2. a dork 3. kind of snarky 4. a follower and 5. Tsukki’s number one fan #also 6. very fucking passionate and determined #he can be expanded upon a lot both with canon facts and wih hcs #but more than anything he would NEVER be confident enough to flirt much less with anything possible #he also is literally the personification of loyalty he isn’t the type to do that anyway he finds one person and sticks to them #as seen with Tsukki and even yachi since it’s hinted he likes her (whom he NEVER FLIRTS WITH BTW)#he would not be sassy confident type to say ‘oh honey you are so fuxking dumb’#he’s a dick but he’s not a to the face dick he’s a behind the back dick. and he usually laughs at what Tsukki says not makes the comments #and he’d NEVER SAY HONEY LIKE THAT THATS JUST NOT HIM #AND HED NEVER FUCKING BE OBLIVIOUS TO HOW TSUKISHIMA FEELS TSUKKI IS HIS GUY HIS BESTEST FRIEND EVER #idc if it’s not a ship fic about them you have to understand no matter what they’re a set and they care about each other more than anyone #regardless of the type of relationship they will never be the types to not notice when the other is suffering #sorry. i am passionate about people mischaracterizing them

the first time kanoka serves in front of runa and yachi, she manages to render them speechless.

she jumps up and hits the ball–it's a nice, satisfying hit, and the ball lands in the corner she'd been aiming for. she turns around triumphantly to look at her girlfriends, both of whom are sitting off to the side. runa's knees are tucked against her chest, hands clasped by her ankles. yachi's sitting cross legged, hands pressing down her skirt. both of them stare at her with wide eyes and slightly parted lips as she waits for them to say something.

of course, no one says anything. she stares at runa and yachi, and they stare back at her with twin expressions of...shock, she thinks. but why would they be shocked? they've seen other serves before...was hers bad?

"ah…" kanoka laughs nervously. "it's, ah, it's not as strong as the guys i'm sure-"

"no no, it was wonderful!" yachi practically shrieks. her face heats up and she waves her hands frantically. "i was just really blown away by your strength!"

runa nods so fast that it looks like her head might fall off. "yeah! you looked really cool!" she says.

"really cool," yachi agrees.

"yeah. really cool." runa ducks her head down behind her knees after she says that. "i've never seen anything like it."

kanoka blushes. "thank you," she says. there's another moment of silence, before kanoka picks up another volleyball and spins it between her hands. "do. um. do either of you want to try?"

"oh…i've never actually served before," runa confesses. she's still hiding behind her knees. "hana usually handled that…i just throw the ball."

"i can teach you?" kanoka offers. she looks at yachi, who starts nodding almost immediately. "you too, if you want."

"sure!" yachi rockets up to her feet, then flails about as she nearly overbalances, before she manages to catch herself. "kageyama and hinata have taught me a little, but i'm not that great," she tells kanoka. "some tips would be nice."

"sure thing!"

runa slowly gets to her feet. "thanks for offering to show us," she says. "so, what's the first step?"

kanoka smiles at her girlfriends. "okay," she says. "so what you wanna do is this…"

⚜ karasuno fruity five hcs

characters :: kageyama tobio , hinata shoyo , yamaguchi tadashi , tsukishima kei , hitoka yachi

every 2 weeks on a friday they play video games at tadashis house

bike rides which turn into tobio and shoyo racing eachother while the others trail behind them

they probably watched all 6 jurassic park movies at tsukis house

yachi attempts to teach them how to make cupcakes but they all fail miserably except tobio who is surprisingly good at baking (shoyo is extremly pissed off at this)

they all go on picnics sometimes

one time they all went to the beach and shoyo happened to sit on sea urchin at the exact time yachi was taking a video of the beach on her phone AND THEY WAY HE SCREAMED JFC. anytime shoyo gets into an argument with someone they send that video and he immediately goes offline

tsuki gave yachi a dinosaur plushie for her birthday and she keeps it on a shelf in her room

tobio has stolen things from tadashis room eg. hair ties, candy, bracelets etc

tadashi and yachi are natsus favourites. and whenever they go to shoyos house she gives them makeovers

monopoly always ends in turmoil and tears /hj

gc name is the backyardigans bc why not

shoyo is constantly spamming it with memes while tobio mostly asks abt hw, tsuki has it muted half of the time, yachi and tadashi are the only sane ones who talk there

they've had absolutely wild convos there including the argument abt whether a tomato was fruit or veg which then turned into a yachi vs shoyo rap battle

im telling u that if that gc got exposed they'd all be dead

they play roblox together change my mind

i just KNOW they play the scary games on calls sometimes and there is so much screaming, yachi and tsuki are always the best at them

haikyuu characters and how they would play DND

i've been watching a lot of dimension 20 fantasy high so i have dungeons n dragons brain worms hehe so here's some headcanons

cw: none

characters: tsukishima, tendou, hinata, sugawara, yamaguchi, kenma, yachi, atsumu, osamu

wc: 300ish

tsukishima is a ruthless dungeon master who often tries to TPK* his party and has fun while doing it, using his wide array of smug facial expressions to his advantage; plus he has annoyingly good luck when he rolls for enemies

tendou also aims to TPK, but is much more expressive and dynamic while doing so; tbh he probably makes an amazing dungeon master, being able to play many characters through convincing impressions

hinata makes his character super tall and strong (like a dragonborn or orc), choosing a tank class like paladin, but still consistently rolls natural 1’s; kageyama always makes fun of his critical failures even if he’s not playing

sugawara would play a cute little goblin cleric (but like a chaotic cleric with a gun), and he would consistently do out of pocket shit like “I attempt to seduce the skeleton” “suga no”

yamaguchi really gets into it, creating an elegant wood elf monk or ranger with a complex and heartwarming backstory who also happens to have green hair

kenma plays a tabaxi wizard and he’s really good at finding niche and strange ways to solve problems, always grilling the DM with tricky and specific questions

yachi plays something small and fast, like a pixie rouge who tried to avoid conflict as often as possible, yet constantly finds herself in the middle of it, barely scraping by the required DC** on her saving throws each time

atsumu makes a half high elf pretty boy fighter who’s really cool in theory, but consistently rolls terribly and often fails at actions; but occasionally when he rolls good it’s usually really good, like a nat 20

osamu makes something unconventional like a yuan-ti barbarian, and he often gets really lucky; effortlessly rolling nat 20s with a neutral expression while atsumu’s elf is already dead on the board

(they will most likely end up fighting irl if you play dnd together)

°Sawamura Daichi-I feel like he would read some kind of self help book that would help with anger issues and stress.

°Sugawara Koushi- Smut.

°Azumane Asahi-The cute rom-coms with cartoon covers.

°Shimizu Kiyoko-Dark fantasy that sometimes has the most hideous smut.

°Ennoshita Chikara-Mangas and specifically Shonen mangas.

°Narita Kazuhito-Self help books to become a better person.

°Kinoshita hisahi-Shojo mangas and he will never admit that he cried a river while reading and watching your name.

°Tanaka Ryunosuke-The household wife's guide to cooking is a book that he reads for fun.

°Nishinoya Yuu-Any type of book that has pictures in it and he'll just look through the pictures instead of reading.

Hinata Shoyo- He's a huge fan of comics and mangas that have a female protagonist.(He thinks they're the coolest.)

Kageyama Tobio- Can't read. But is an expert when it comes to reading books about volleyball.

°Tsukishima Kei- Sci-fi books that have a dystopian setting and very cool ass characters.

°Yamaguchi Tadashi-High fantasy that has stuff like murder,arson etc.(Yknow that usual)

°Hitoka Yachi-Any type of manga and sometimes borrows rom-coms from Asahi.

i am having a ball on this bitch this is the best thing tumblr has ever done. here's how i think the karasuno first years would boop more hcs may come later when/if i think of them

tsukki and kags don't boop anyone, kags out of confusion (he can't figure out how to opt in and he doesn't understand what booping is supposed to be), and tsukki out of disdain he just logs out for the day

hinata is a spam booper fr, everyone is getting dozens of boops from him, he is having the time of his life booping every single blog he comes across, sharing the love

yams boops all his mutuals multiple times, and for non-mutuals he reciprocates boops one for one. he and hinata have gotten into a booping war that's easily reached into the hundreds

when yachi woke up and saw what was going on she squealed bc omg what a cute idea !!! she was very happy to have a cute non-anxiety inducing way to show affection, and she went down her list of mutuals super-booping everyone (more paws means more cuteness!!!) <333 but then she felt bad about leaving people out and started super-booping every single follower of hers that had opted in and then everyone on her dash xx
