It's currently the wee hours of the far-too-early morning for me and I'm just thinking about running on air. Not thinking about it as in rereading it, just thinking about it in the way that it's always on my mind, somehow etched onto every one of my braincells and dripping into every thought I have. I still remember the way it made me feel when I first read it; like nothing would ever be the same again, like everything had changed, like the entire world had slipped out beneath my feet, like I was the only person on the planet, like I'd gone through some miraculous rebirth and come back the same and yet entirely different, like the words had entirely rearranged every piece of my body chemistry.

I don't tend to have one true 'favourite' of anything, and while this fic comes close to something like it, a more accurate way of describing the way it lives in me is a gentle sort of haunting, in the way you'd remember the feeling of a warm hug from your favourite person, or the echoing laughter of the best night of your life. It *lives* in me; secreted away in the space behind my ears and the hollows of my heart and every nook and cranny of my mind and soul. At times I feel it whispering in the steady flow of my blood through my veins and luxuriate in the sound of the familiar words.

It's one of the most beautifully haunting pieces of literature I have ever read, and I know for a fact that I'll never read anything like it again.

We promised it to each other; vowed it, really. And I'd say we've each kept up our end of the bargain.

It could've started when I slipped the ring on your finger; like the sun, like a halo. Gold suits you.

It could've started even further back than that. Maybe our youthful hands weren't meant to touch, then. Maybe they needed callouses or blood—each other's, our own—before they could fit. But maybe it started when they finally slid into place, palms grasped firmly. You, in determination; me, for reassurance.

But we've kept it up since then. In trips to the supermarket. In films watched while we sat on that broken, too-small couch in my first flat. In surprise flowers. In home-cooked meals. In blown-out birthday candles. In Valentine's cards. In the slick slide of our lips, our bodies, against each other.

It's also in our fights. In our tears. In our nightmares. In grief. In trauma. In long-distance Floos during work trips. In tripped-over boundaries. In apologies. In forgiveness.

Hello all! New tumblr for a not-so-new fic fest. This is my third year running a Halloween/autumnal fic fest (Fic-O-Ween) for the Hazelnoots Discord server, formerly known as the Sweater Weather/Coast to Coast Discord server for fans of @lumosinlove's various works. Are you named after anyone: hmmm. marion is my chosen pen name but i chose it because i was raised by many marias, marianas, mauries, maries, marys and mariannes, so i guess in a way, yes. that's not the name i use irl (that's not after anyone, that's just me) nor the name i was given by my parents. my first name is the name of a local war hero, and my middle name is the name of the saint and military leader who i allegedly share a birth day with :)

Favorite subject in school: i was a history girlie!!

Do you have kids: i have a lovely little dog, he is my sun and son

Me? Writing a fic that’s not Hazel-verse related? Gasp! Although I do have a st. tweedle fic nearly finished so be on the lookout (but not too hard) for that maybe. Please enjoy this AFTG fic I started writing in class for funsies which then somehow spiraled into 5820 words. The list of places I worked on this fic has really run the gaumt: at least three different classes, on the bus, waiting for the bus, in the common room across from someone on my floor, and my favorite campus café.
