Hi!!! Congrats on the 1000 followers, I hope I'm not too late for request.
If it's alright, I would like to request a scenario where Sebek, after a few months of being with his (preferably male) s/o, finds out that the reason why his s/o never initiate anything (never text or call first, never ask for a hug or anything, etc.) is because the s/o is afraid they'll come across too needy and ruin the relationship.
I don't know if this count toward angst or not so I would like to apologise beforehand if it does. Thank you for your time!
Croccy take the wheel, take it from my hand
Thank you so much anonn. I hope this didn't take too long to finish 😭
"Display of affection...?" Sebek scratched the back of his head in confusion. He's been absorbed in the book he was reading for the last hour. No matter how many times he'd play back all the moments you've been together, you've never exhibited any of the signs the book had listed. Not even once.
Nicknames, hand holding, resting your head on your lover's shoulder, saying 'I love you' in between moments. There was a tinge of shame that he felt well deep inside him. Had he failed as your lover? He followed the romance books Lilia picked out for him. He still vividly recalls the exchange between them.
"Master Lilia! I've come to seek your aid!" Sebek announced, rudely busting through Diasomnia's large double-doors.
Abandoning his ongoing meeting, Lilia turned to face him, his expression shifting from a serious one to a more peppy demeanor. "Why if it isn't Sebek! Ever-lively as always, I see," the Diasomnia vice chuckled.
"I... I need help with MC."
"Oh? Have you two been on the rocks lately?"
"No, we're faring smoothly. I need your advice on how to become a better lover! I want to give it my all, but I'm not sure how..." Sebek's voice became hushed. He was embarrassed, sure, but he doesn't want to back out. Not now. "I'm certain that with your extensive knowledge, there has to be a solution."
"You flatter me. How cute." And as an idea came into Lilia Vanrouge's mind, his smile grew bigger. "I've got a solution for your woes. You're an avid reader, no? There's this one book I've collected from my travels, I'm sure it will teach you all you need to know about romance!" The fae chirped.
The book was titled, 'Instructional Guide for the Romantically Challenged (For Dummies)'. A fine piece of work, truly.
"Sebek, you're going to run late for club activities." A voice called. It was yours. He knows that voice, even in a crowd he would be able to recognize it.
"Instructional... for the Romantically Challenged?" You dragged the words out in confusion. Looking past your puzzled expression, the subtle shift in your look told him that you knew what the book meant. You averted his gaze and tried to shy away.
It pulled him out of a trance. It pulled him out of the path he'd been fruitlessly circling. But now you're here, now he has a chance to ask you.
"You..." his attempt to give a serious growl ended up turning into a concerned whimper. "Is there something about me? Is it something I did? Or something I didn't? Something that makes you so distant," his voice faltered, surprising even himself. He didn't want to be seen like this, vulnerable, but he was.
"It has nothing to do with you," you took a deep breath.
"But it does. I'm your boyfriend. Whatever it is that bothers you, you can tell me," he looked you in the eye. "You can trust me."
"I don't... I don't want to be needy. I'm not needy. Sebek, I'm content with what I have now. If I push too far... no. I don't want to cross boundaries I shouldn't," you were shaking.
Sebek was at a loss for words. For once, since that day Lilia handed it to him, he shut the book. He rushed to your side.
Sorry, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to make you think that.
But the words refused to come out of his throat. He never knew. He should've known, he would've done something immediately instead of letting you combat your own anxiety by yourself.
Cupping your cheek, he now had the courage to speak. He now had the resolve to face this problem.
"I'm sorry. I should've known," he held you tight, he leaned his head over your shoulder. "Berate yourself all you want, but I'll never think of you as a nuisance. You're not needy and you're certainly not pushing too far. If anything you're pushing yourself away." Sebek closed his eyes for a moment.
"I want to face this... I want to face us. I don't want to run away from this. And you shouldn't too. Small steps, MC, small steps. You don't have to do all those gestures if you don't want to, at least not right away. We can do this together," he held your hand.
Your palm felt cold. He gave it a soft squeeze.
He faced you, determination burning behind the lush forest that were his irises.
"I am Sebek Zigvolt, a freshman from Diasomnia dorm and MC's boyfriend. Pleased to meet you," he declared, loud and proud as always.
"MC, the prefect of Ramshackle Dorm and... and Sebek Zigvolt's lover."
As if the words were sacred promises, he sealed them with a kiss.

Me: *asks for a teeny thing to be changed to help me*
The other person: Oh, yeah, absolutely! *kindly does the thing without a sigle hint of being upset or inconvenienced*
Me: Perfect!
Me: Why am I crying?

...where there was ANOTHER MASSIVE BLIZZARD. -.- That just figures, right? Felt like the entire game was against me opening the store at this point.
But! I was not going to give up on the grand opening so quickly! So, after taking some time to make sure all the shelves were fully stocked and everything on them was set for sale (which was a very tricky process, given I'm selling a lot of small items and if you turn the "for sale" tags on they can very easily overlap with each other and trick you into believing stuff is set for sale when it isn't), I took a few pictures to show you my lovely lovely full shelves, transferred some money from the gang's personal account to the business account --
And bought a weather machine! Because like HELL was I going to let this miserable weather stand when I had the power to change it. Alice got sent out to clear the skies while Victor and Smiler hung out inside chatting...
Aaaand, as you can see, she wasn't successful. In fact, she just got straight-up electrocuted, though I didn't manage to get a picture of that, unfortunately. She promptly ran inside to talk to the motivational posters instead (maybe she needed a pick-me-up after that), then serenaded Victor (still slightly smoking) while I sent Smiler outside to try their luck. Fortunately, THEY were able to get the result I wanted -- possibly because they have higher Handiness skill? I don't know, all I know is that they didn't get zapped.
However -- even the magic weather machine can't change the weather INSTANTLY. It was going to take some time for the snow to clear out. So Smiler came back in for a congratulatory kiss on the cheek, Victor Repairioed the busted sign above the bakery section (can't have broken stuff on the first day open)...

Hi again
Guess what?
It’s been a whole two years since I published my first fic! That’s a whole two years of creative writing, which is two whole years more than I ever expected. The WIP folder continues to grow alarmingly, but I’m getting used to the ideas breathing down my neck late at night as I try to sleep :)
In this past year, I’ve written another 17 fics for a total of 112,608 words - fewer than last year, although in my defense, I also wrote a dissertation that I will defend... tomorrow (don’t worry, I’m drafting this ahead of time and scheduling it to post), so I’ve been a bit busy! And this doesn’t count my WIPs - there’s a lot of words in those WIPs :)
I’ve branched out a bit: Only 13 Star Wars fics, with 4 Sandman fics and 1 Babylon 5 fic. 6 Star Wars fics involve Thrawn, with the others focused on Andor (2), Original Characters (2), Bo Katan (1), Obi-Wan (1), and the Original Trilogy (1).
In honor of another year of writing, and hopefully having the time for NaNoWriMo this year, here’s a roundup of my fics from this year!
(Last year’s fic roundup can be found here)
Series Additions:
Glimpses of a Better Galaxy gained the promised sequel, And So We Go Marching On, following Bo Katan as she works to rebuild Mandalore following the Clone Wars and the events of Get F***ed, Palps!. Series is up to four parts, with possibly a fifth on the way. Someday.
The Adventures of the Poor Sods Left to Clean Up Rebel!Vader’s Mess is now a two part series, It’s Not Easy Being Evil as the setup for Vader’s defection and the fallout on the Executor and Cool Ranch Vader 2: Electric Boogaloo as the promised continuation! Cool Ranch Vader 2 remains an ongoing collection of one-shots in the universe, although a plot is developing in my outlines...
Samakro’s Bathtub has gained its fourth part, Ar’alani’s Day... Could Have Gone Better, continuing the saga of the captain’s bathtub on the Springhawk (which Samakro continues to insist is his). Gen, all Ace/Aro characters.
Through Darkness now has a third part, which is the longest fic I’ve written yet at 44,586 words! Damned followed my Jedi OC, Kazellis, after Order 66 as she works to pick up the pieces of her life, her Fall, and the Jedi. Follows the events of Darth Vader (2017) Issue #19. A fourth part prequel is in the works.
Thrawn Standalones:
Rebel Tactics: Thrawn and Ezra play chess and talk tactics after the Rebels finale.
An Unfortunate Meeting of Minds: Admiral Thrawn walks into an art gallery run by one Luthen Rael.
A Csannukkah Story: Vurawn and Vurika celebrate the holidays together. A lifetime later, they meet again.
And This Was the Story He Told: Vurika reads Vurawn a story. Returning to the Ascendancy, together they search for the truth in old legends.
Spoilers, C’baoth Dies: In honor of May the Fourth, a drabble (exactly 100 words) with exactly what it says on the tin.
Other Star Wars Standalones:
The Demon from the Stars: Obi-Wan hears a Tusken story and contemplates the past.
The Ghosts of My Enemies Shall Be Their Undoing: a collab with the wonderful @jedihlaalu, Luthen Rael gives his apprentice a Sith holocron with a particularly ornery ghost (Sith OC).
In Another Life: An AU where Mon Mothma never got married and never wanted to, starring Senator Bel Iblis and Bail Organa.
The Bsivi Family: A recounting of a Chiss folktale from the freezing of Csilla.
Sandman Fics:
A Visit From Death: Death comes for Roderick Burgess, and a conversation between siblings.
Forever Shall We Wait: Lucienne waits for the return of her lord as the Dreaming crumbles.
“You’ll never know how lucky you were.”: An AU where Burgess captures Death, just like he wanted. Be careful what you wish for...
Babylon 5 Fics:
Summers: An AU where Talia Winters may not be entirely erased, and Dr. Franklin has a chat with Control. Sequels are, possibly, in the works when I have time to research DID properly.
New WIPs:
Untitled Secret Empire: Post-Rebels, Thrawn seeks to return to the Empire; but events in the Chaos may demand more of his attention than he expects! Actually an older, thought-to-be-abandoned WIP. I should have known better XD Outlined, attempting to draft by mid Ahsoka season 1, hoped to be finished by the end of Ahsoka season 1. We’ll see how that goes!
Untitled Myrkyr Exploration: Post-Rebels, Thrawn and Ezra visit a most curious planet. Outlined, a few scenes written.
The Edge Between Dream and Nightmare: Post-Ascendancy novels, Che’ri’s powers develop in an unexpected direction, which leads her back to an old friend. Mostly drafted, stuck on the ending.
Have You Tried Flying In Circles: Thrawn searches for the perfect planet for his exile, much to the growing frustration of the crew of the Parala. Outlined, first section drafted.
Untitled Locked Tomb: Fallen Order crossover starring Merrin and Cal exploring the tombs of Dathomir. Outlined, first section drafted.
Somehow, Maul Has Returned: Maul dies... but his apprentice needs him. Premise drafted, but not sure where I’m going with it; might just post for others to play with once it’s edited.
Good Soldiers Follow Orders: The events of Clone Wars: Orders through Fox’s eyes. A darker characterization than fandom’s usual. Drafted, needs editing.
Untitled Chiss OC: Backstory for my original Chiss navigator character, and a look at commoner’s life on Csilla. Part 1 drafted, may expand to part 2.
Catch a Tiger (Sandman fic): Delirium is summoned by a less-than-two-penny magician. It goes poorly. Drafted, needs editing.
Up Greens! (Babylon 5 fic): The Drazi remember a time when things didn’t end in fighting, and when once again it comes times to pick sides, they call in their savior. Ivanova did not sign up for this. Drafted, needs editing.
Untitled Mari’s Story (Original Work): Backstory for a D&D NPC and their adventures in a fantasy version of northern Africa during the Islamic Golden Age. Outlined.
Updates On:
The Gambler (Rebel!Thrawn) Part 4: outlined
This’ll Make a Great Story at our Second Wedding (Thranto Ghost Marriage) Part 2: Outlined, one section written.
Sortie (Rebel!Samakro): living in my head rent-free. Still an outline and prologue.
Crotalus and Viperidae (Sith and Jedi OCs): next up once I finish Secret Empire.
Zero Station (Chiss history): well, we hit that part of the D&D game, so I have to write it eventually :)
Rise, Wrath, Ruin (Boudica original work): expanded character list and a few sections written.

I love no longer being super crazy over ships. So glad I outgrew that. Now I'm able to chill with fics where everyone's best friends, I have an easier time multishipping, overall the fandom experience is more fun now.

During the 2008 recession, my aunt lost her job. Her, her partner, and my three cousins moved across the country to stay with us while they got back on their feet. My house turned from a family of four to a family of nine overnight, complete with three dogs and five cats between us.
It took a few years for them to get a place of their own, but after a few rentals and apartments, they now own a split level ranch in a town nearby. I’ve lost track of how many coworkers and friends have stayed with them when they were in a tight spot. A mother and son getting out of an abusive relationship, a divorcee trying to stay local for his kids while they work out a custody agreement, you name it. My aunt and uncle knew first hand what that kindness meant, and always find space for someone who needed it, the way my parents had for them.
That same aunt and uncle visited me in [redacted] city last year. They are prolific drinkers, so we spent most of the day bar hopping. As we wandered the city, any time we passed a homeless person, my uncle would pull out a fresh cigarette and ask them if they had a light. Regardless of if they had a lighter on hand or not, he offered them a few bucks in exchange, which he explained to me after was because he felt it would be easier for them to accept in exchange for a service, no matter how small.
I work for a company that produces a lot of fabric waste. Every few weeks, I bring two big black trash bags full of discarded material over to a woman who works down the hall. She distributes them to local churches, quilting clubs, and teachers who can use them for crafts. She’s currently in the process of working with our building to set up a recycling program for the smaller pieces of fabric that are harder to find use for.
One of my best friends gives monthly donations to four or five local organizations. She’s fortunate enough to have a tech job that gives her a good salary, and she knows that a recurring donation is more valuable to a non-profit because they can rely on that money month after month, and can plan ways to stretch that dollar for maximum impact. One of those organizations is a native plant trust, and once she’s out of her apartment complex and in a home with a yard, she has plans to convert it into a haven of local flora.
My partner works for a company that is working to help regulate crypto and hold the current bad actors in the space accountable for their actions. We unfortunately live in a time where technology develops far too fast for bureaucracy to keep up with, but just because people use a technology for ill gain doesn’t mean the technology itself is bad. The blockchain is something that she finds fascinating and powerful, and she is using her degree and her expertise to turn it into a tool for good.
I knew someone who always had a bag of treats in their purse, on the odd chance they came across a stray cat or dog, they had something to offer them.
I follow artists who post about every local election they know of, because they know their platform gives them more reach than the average person, and that they can leverage that platform to encourage people to vote in elections that get less attention, but in many ways have more impact on the direction our country is going to go.
All of this to say, there’s more than one way to do good in the world. Social media leads us to believe that the loudest, the most vocal, the most prolific poster is the most virtuous, but they are only a piece of the puzzle. (And if virtue for virtues sake is your end goal, you’ve already lost, but that’s a different post). Community is built of people leveraging their privileges to help those without them. We need people doing all of those things and more, because no individual can or should do all of it. You would be stretched too thin, your efforts valiant, but less effective in your ambition.
None of this is to encourage inaction. Identify your unique strengths, skills, and privileges, and put them to use. Determine what causes are important to you, and commit to doing what you can to help them. Collective action is how change is made, but don’t forget that we need diversity in actions taken.

Eddie chronically leaves his rings at Steve’s place to the point that Steve checks the bathroom and kitchen sink every time after he leaves, only to find one of them there every time.
Not that Steve is entirely complaining since this means he gets to call him and Eddie gets to stop by on his own to pick them up.
But when they’re at the Wheeler’s place, and Eddie says he’s going to the bathroom, Steve says, “Be careful not to leave one of your rings behind,” with a wink that has the kids exchanging confused looks. But Steve doesn’t notice because he’s too distracted by the light blush coloring Eddie’s cheeks.
“Why would Eddie leave one of his rings behind?” Dustin asks Steve when Eddie’s out of earshot.
Steve laughs. “He leaves one behind every time he washes his hands I swear. I don’t know how he hasn’t lost one at this point.” But his amusement is quick to die down when he realizes the kids are staring at him as if he’s absolutely insane. “What?”
They all glance at each other, and Steve is surprised when Mike is the first to pipe in, “He never leaves them anywhere. They’re like his prized possession. I’ve never even seen him take them off.”
Steve frowns and glances around at everyone, sensing that there’s definitely something he’s missing, so he’s quick to lie, “Well, I guess it was only once or twice that it happened. Maybe it was my fancy soap. Made things too… slippery.”
He gets a few eye rolls at the comment, but the group is quick to move on especially when Eddie comes back a few moments later with all his rings on his hands.
Steve gives him a quick smile, and Eddie is quick to return it, eyes lingering on him for a few seconds longer than necessary and the same blush from earlier returning.
It hits Steve very suddenly.
The rings are an excuse to come back.
And with this knowledge, Steve’s let’s his own gaze linger on Eddie longer than he usually allows, moving into his space more often than not, and carefully keeping track of time, waiting for the hang out to end.
When it finally comes to a halt, Steve is quick to say his goodbyes, hoping that Eddie will join and let the kids have their unnecessarily prolonged goodbyes in private. And luckily, Eddie is quick to move out of the basement, following after Steve in a way that’s supposed to look causal but is anything but casual now that Steve knows to look for the signs.
When he and Eddie silently go out the front door, Steve is quick to turn to him and hold out his hand. Eddie gives him a confused look but offers his hand which Steve takes and slides one of the rings off of.
Eddie stares at it for a moment, looking slightly frightened, as if he’s been caught doing something he isn’t supposed to.
Steve is quick to soothe the fear as he pockets the ring and says, “Just so you’ll have an excuse to stop by later tonight.”
Eddie’s cheeks flush bright red and he runs a hand over his face. “Shit.”
Steve laughs, “So it has been on purpose?”
“No,” Eddie clearly lies, pulling a strand of hair in front of his face.
“And what if I told you I wanted it to be on purpose?” Steve asks.
Eddie freezes for a moment as if he’s waiting for Steve to tell him that he’s joking, but Steve sits in the silence, letting the question settle between them.
“Then,” Eddie starts, taking a small step forward into Steve’s space, “I would-”
The door behind them bursts open and Dustin yells, “Hurry up I have a curfew!” as he races off to Steve’s car.
Steve rolls his eyes at the kid and takes a step back as everyone else makes their way out the door to the cars or their bikes.
Steve and Eddie linger behind for a moment, which Steve uses to quietly ask, “I’ll see you tonight?”
Eddie gives him a bashful smile in return and nods. “Yeah, I’ll see you tonight.”
Steve resists the urge to celebrate in any way in front of the kids and instead puts his hand in his pocket, fingers curling around Eddie’s ring.
As he gets into his car, ignoring Dustin bitching and complaining, he slips the ring over his finger and smiles at it.
He notices the car go quiet and he nearly groans at his mistake.
“Is that Eddie’s ring?” Dustin screeches.
It’s going to be a long drive home, but Steve doesn’t mind when he has Eddie to look forward to.
