BLACK PANTHER: WAKANDA FOREVER (but happier) snippet!
I'm planning to rewrite the new movie as how I think the first script would have gone (because I gotta cope, lol)... here's a preview of a fic that prolly won't be out for a long time but I'll try!
◦◦◦◦◦◦◦◦◦◦◦◦◦◦◦◦◦◦◦◦◦◦◦◦◦◦◦◦◦◦◦◦◦◦◦◦◦◦◦◦◦◦◦
Twice. What mother has seen her son die twice?
Ramonda ran a thumb repeatedly over T’Challa’s temples as he lay comatose on the medical bed. Adinkra, their healer, sat tiredly on a chair making reports about the King’s condition. Thanks to him and many others, twice hadn’t become thrice.
A ping alerted them that T’Challa’s brain activity had gone up. Ramonda glanced at the graph and back at her son’s twitching face.
“T’Challa?”
“Mng. Hhh.” He stirred.
“No… don’t try to speak.”
His eyes cracked open and he squinted into the bright surroundings. Behind them, Nakia entered the room and immedately rushed to him as his fingers began flexing.
“T’Challa…” She held his hand softly. “Shuri’s working on her synthetic herb. She’s probably had a breakthrough with the***********************************************************”
“Mm.” T’Challa grunted faintly and twitched his fingers into his wife’s.
Ramonda smiled and bent down to kiss her son’s forehead.
“She’s been doing so much… I’m worried that she will be too tired for all this…”
Nakia shrugged in agreement. “Caffiene and a sister’s love can do a lot to keep her up, uMama…”
They heard a gentle clicking sound, and realized that it was T’Challa trying to smile with his dried up lips. Nakia giggled and took her lipbalm out before pressing a stripe onto each thick lip of his.
“He’s gonna be alright.”

When The Party's Over
Pairing: Attuma x Okoye
Warnings: Mentions of cheating, Attuma is kind of a simp, yearning, kinda fluff kinda sad
A/N: I’m writing this at 4 am while listening to Billie Eilish. Shout out to the Discord babes <3
Attuma stands in Okoye’s home having been told to come here and wait for her to leave the palace. It’s dark and silent, with nothing but the moonlight pouring in through the windows, illuminating various surfaces, and casting shadows upon others. Her home is empty, no trace of recent life other than the 7 foot tall man standing in her living room. It’s odd to him, how a home that is usually so warm and inviting can suddenly make him feel so isolated and alone.
He moves slowly through the living room and he sits on the couch, it creaking a bit due to his size. He’s occupied this space with Okoye on so many late nights, it feels empty without her. He pulls out his cell phone and holds the small object in his hands. He’d broken his first few iPhones, so Okoye settled on getting him a sturdy Nokia. She’d taken the time to show him how to save numbers and make calls. He couldn’t quite figure out the texting bit, but he figured he didn’t need to. He’d much rather hear the sweet sound of Okoye’s voice late at night anyway.
He slowly clicks through the phone, carefully trying to press the right buttons to reach her. He finds her name and hesitates for a moment. He’s always a bit shy about calling her. Which is odd, because Attuma is someone who moves through life with his shoulders firm, so confident it borders on arrogance.  He nervously hunches over, sucks in his lips and stares anxiously at the screen.
‘Maybe she’s busy.’
‘Maybe the party is just running long.’
‘Maybe peace agreements aren’t going as planned.’
If Namora could see him now he’d never hear the end of it. He sits upright and sucks in a breath, hitting the call button as fast as he can before he can change his mind.
There’s a lot of chatter in the background, the music is a hair too loud, and he can’t quite make sense of anything.
“Hello?” He says nervously, hoping he hadn’t made a mistake.
The sound becomes muffled, then muted, before her voice comes through.
His heart begins to beat a bit faster at the sound of her voice no matter how muffled.
“Hello?” She answers.
“When are you coming home?” he asked, desperately hoping she says soon or that she's already on her way.
“I can’t hear you, but things are fine if you’re asking. I’ll call you when the party is over, okay?”
Before Attuma can answer the phone disconnects, and he’s left sitting in the lonely silence of her living room.
Okoye herself stands near the door of a party hall located within the palace . Almost everyone, young or old has gathered together to celebrate, dance and feast over the recent peace agreement between Wakanda and Talokan. Her phone had rang while she was mid conversation with Queen Shuri, and she excused herself to take the call, praying Shuri didn’t find it strange she’d be receiving a call when everyone was here. Well almost everyone.
Okoye already knew he was calling and why. Attuma had taken the night off, leaving Namora to guard Namor so he'd be free to meet her later at her place. She came to the party, figuring it'd be suspicous if they both didn't show. She moved closer to the door and checked her surroundings making sure no one was in ear shot before answering. Her phone was breaking up and she could just barely make out his deep voice on the other end.
“When are you coming home?” She hears him say, a certain longing in his voice. It rings in her ear, through her head, down to her feet. It makes her heart beat faster and her throat dry up.
“I can’t hear you, but things are fine if you’re asking. I’ll call you when the party is over, okay?” Is all she can manage to say before hanging up.
Does she feel guilty?
A little.
She hadn’t meant to make him feel any type of way by hanging up so quickly. But he doesn’t know the affect he has on her.
She has an image to protect and a status to uphold.
It had been damaged bad enough with Wakabi’s banishment and her being removed as General. While a treaty had been signed relations between Wakandans and the Talokanil were still very tense.
She could not have her relationship with Attuma exposed, not after only just become a Midnight Angel. And people would call for her head if it came out that they’d messed around before peace negotiations were even thought of.
And banishment be damned, she was still technically a married woman.
Though physically present at the party, her mind began to wonder back to their first fight, and the way he’d found her after.
——————————————————————
Once she’d been ousted from her position as general, she found herself walking alone through the city late at night, wandering wherever her feet would take her. She’d walked all morning and afternoon, trying to clear her head and think about anything else but the fight would not stop playing over and over again in her head.
Every block.
Every blow.
Every clang of weapons.
It was almost like a dance between the two of them.
She’d finally met her match and the thought absolutely terrified her.
And excited her.
She cursed herself for thinking that way. Thinking of the broad blue muscles and dark eyes that stood over her on that bridge.
The way he grabbed her so easily, no one has been able to do that before, and it shook her to her core.
She couldn't sort through the rush of emotions she'd been feeling all day. Anger, Sadness, Desperation, Loneliness. She hadn’t even realized she’d walked to the beach until the smell of sand and salt water hit her nose.
An immense wave of sadness began to overtake her, and she finally let her self fall into the sand. She began to curse the seas and every grain of sand and dug into her palms as she cried doubled over, letting herself fall apart.
She had no husband, no job, and was completely lost. All alone.
She’d been too busy falling apart, she barely heard the waves part, or the heavy footsteps heading towards her until they were too close to ignore.
When she sensed him she scowled, backing away quickly in the sand.
She looked up at him, offended that he’d caught her in such a vulnerable position, and she steeled herself for his inevitable attack, ready to fight back.
But the attack didn’t come.
—————————————
It had been her idea to keep it a secret.
If it were his choice he’d mark her as his own, parade her around both Wakanda and Talokan without a care in the world.
But he understood why she wanted to hide, he didn’t have to like it, but he understood. So he respected that. There’s honestly no way of knowing when he’d completely turned to mush for Okoye. Maybe it was the second time they fought, or the third.
Maybe it was one of the many times she’d sneak to the beach in the dead of the night and they’d sit and bask in the moonlight together. Sometimes he’d tell her all about Talokan, and other times it’d be pure comfortable silence. He’d admire her beautifully shaped face or her brown eyes.
Or maybe it’d be the nights were she’d find away to sneak all seven feet of him into her home. She’d make him food to try, and teach him things about the surface world. He’d listen attentively, hanging on to every word, while admiring her dark skin in the soft yellow lights of her home.
It doesn’t really matter when it was he supposes. Because he’s here now.
And he’s willing to sit here in this dark room.
He’ll wait for her, no matter how long she takes.

SPOILERS FOR WAKANDA FOREVER
I watched Wakanda forever. And now I’m wondering whether it will be canon to my rewrite or the original movie idea would be because, on one hand, paying homage to Chadwick Boseman and respecting his legacy is something I really want to do, i still want to do so, but whilst exploring the whole father/son vibe the original plot was going to contain.
Of course it’s likely I will stick to the film’s premise but father/son bonding between t’challa and little t’challa/toussaint? I would love that so much.

Often (REPOST)
Shuri Udaku x Reader
Tumblr media
-
A/n: hey everyone so I’m slowly coming back into my tumblr era I have just been busy with school and stuff. And so I simply was bored and just rewrite this fic and it’s literally one of my favorites I had wrote but I hope you enjoy:)
Warnings/Fluff, Cusring.
Tumblr media
You sat at the makeshift vanity you made in your tiny apartment that you could barely afford because of being a poor college student. You were doing some final touches to your hair when your best friend came in “ Are you almost ready “ your best friend said as she watched you do your final touch to your hair as you were brushing your edges out. You then made the first swoop trying not to mess up your quick weave slick back high ponytail, Which you were proud of that you did yourself.“ All I have to do is my edges “ you say annoyed that she was rushing you to get ready knowing that when she did that it reminded you of one person.
Shuri mf Udaku
The princess of Wakanda, but to you she is your ex-girlfriend. You and Shuri were together for a very what felt like forever 2 years. And you always thought you were going to spend the rest of your life with her.
I mean she was perfect she was like an angel to you that you knew would never do anything to hurt you. At least not physically but everything that is gold doesn’t shine but that didn’t mean shit. She was a compulsive liar, staying in her lab “ working “ at ungodly hours. Always leaving In the middle of the night, staying on her phone 24/7, I mean the list goes on and on.
But you stayed because you truly loved Shuri and believed that she could change. And you knew she was going through tough times since the death of her mother and brother so you were patient with her. But that patience ran out very quickly and went into some complete bullshit because each time she made a mistake she would apologize “ I promise I can make it up to you y/n please “ or she would say some shitty ass apology and make it sound believable enough that your heart believed it.
But that was what all you thought when it came to your heart she wouldn’t play with it. at this point, you felt like were completely heartbroken after wasting 2 years of your life on someone who just lied and cheated on you.
You remember vividly the day you 2 broke up. It was about 5 months ago and all you can remember was you wanting to put your foot down in the relationship and maybe come to some type of compromise that could help benefit your relationship.
You walked into the lab and you saw Shuri at her desk smirking and typing on her phone. When she saw you she gave you a look of despair knowing that she told you before not to come into her lab without permission. You always wondered why you needed permission to come into a space where people are only working.
“ y/n,” Shuri said as she looked you in the eye, clearly annoyed with your presence.
“ What did I tell you usana, about coming in here.” Shuri said firmly with her jaw clenched as she was gripping her phone trying to hide the screen away from you.“ You don’t have to hide that you texting your little side hoe’s it ain’t even a secret that you a hoe your damn self!” you scoffed as Shuri then stood up in front of you as her height towered over you.
“ Don’t start that shit right now “
“ Don’t what? Call your ass out “ you yelled as it echoed in the lab while you and Shuri continued to look each other in the eye with obvious rage.
Shuri then gently grabbed your chin as she leaned into your ear “You don’t wanna do this right now usana, so I suggest you stop” Shuri whispered in your ear and then backed up to turn around and go sit back at her desk. She didn’t want to cause a scene in here, especially in front of the other scientists but you didn’t care you were angry and you had an issue you wanted to be handled now.
Before she could even sit down you quickly grabbed her phone and hid it behind your back as she turned around and gave you an annoyed look as she was already irritated. “ y/n/n, I don’t have time for this shit “ she said trying to get her phone back as you continued to hide it from her.
All you can remember was all hell broke loose as you and Shuri started to fight(not physically), and no not over a phone but because of all of the animosity between you too in the relationship. After that Shuri broke up with you as she claimed she was Tired of your “ complaining and whining” all the time. You then walked out of the apartment lobby that you have been living in for the past month since you had to move out of the palace and move back to the States after permanently leaving Wakanda for good not ever daring to look back.
“ Hey girl,” y/b/n said as you got in the car and put on your seatbelt. “ Hey “ you replied as she took the car out of the park and started to drive to the club. It was a silent drive for a little while until your y/b/n broke that silence.
“ you okay?”
“Yeah, why?”
“ I mean y/n/n I know you haven’t been quite the same since the break up you know.”
“ What do you mean I’m fine”
But you weren’t fine, you were still heartbroken and even though all of your friends said you deserved better were you gonna find someone better? You couldn’t they just weren’t Shuri.
I mean yeah Shuri cheated and was manipulative but you still sometimes liked the way she made you feel and it wasn’t like you haven’t been with anybody since then because you know it wouldn’t feel or be the same. Because Shuri knew you and she knew you and your boundaries it just didn’t feel right to give that to someone else.
Before you knew it you were at the club you and y/b/n got out of the car and made your way inside and you both rushed over to the bar to order drinks. You both sat at the bar and talked as you both waited for your drinks. But then you were soon alone as a guy asked your best friend to dance. You glanced on the dance floor seeing her grind all over this guy, you smiled glad to see that at least she was enjoying herself.
You were never a big fan of going to clubs or partying. You are normally just always focused on school since you attended a local university here in Wakanda. You just then happen to glance up and that’s when you completely froze. You saw a Dora Milaje standing in the corner with a spear in bed and glaring at the crowd making sure nothing was happening.
You knew if you saw a Dora you knew only one person was here.
Shuri
As you quickly looked around you didn’t even realize she was standing behind you. All you felt then was their hand on your shoulder as you turned your head and what met with your ex-girlfriend. She had on black shades and a suit that looked so good on her it made you weak in the knees, Gold rings all along her long fingers and her curls were perfect. She smirked making eye contact with you as you could visibly see the gold grills on her perfect bottom teeth.
She then looked you up and down and licked her lips as she saw the sight of you.“ what are you doing here” you said a little nervous and she could tell as your body had tensed up.
“ Do I make you nervous?”
“ you didn’t answer my question”
“ Listen I didn’t know you were gonna be here but I wanna talk to you alone.”
“ hell no “
“ eh? Is it only because of us”
“ Please y/n I just really need to talk to you,” Shuri said as she now had both of your hands in hers as she was rubbing her thumb gently on the back of your hand.
“ Fine,” you said firmly as you rolled your eyes. But it was only because she looked good as hell.
You stood up and grabbed your purse and phone as you followed Shuri out of the club to get into her car, which was a black and purple Maserati.
She opened the door for you which made you roll your eyes as you got in but you couldn’t ignore the feeling that Shuri was looking at your ass.
-
You and Shuri walked into the palace and you followed her to your old shared bedroom.
As you were walking through the palace you started to get flashbacks to all the good things at least happened in you and Shuri’s relationship.
When you finally reached the bedroom Shuri held the door open as she let you walk in first before coming in and closing the door behind her.
“ So….” You say awkwardly standing in the middle of the room facing Shuri who was sitting on the edge of her bed.
“ y/n I’m gonna be completely honest I miss you. I miss you.” Shuri said as she took off her shades and laid them on the bedside table.’“ And I know you miss me too “ She said with a smirk wide across her face. You stood there as if you felt like you were going to melt right then and because it was true you did miss her you couldn’t deny it. Shuri then walked closer to you and put her hands around your waist.
At that moment it felt like your whole body was frozen. You knew that you couldn’t take her back after months of your trying to move on would be for nothing. If you had told yourself a couple of months ago you would be in a situation where you could take Shuri back you would do it. But it was like a devil and an angel were on your shoulder one side was telling you to take her back and the other told you to stop her.
But your body didn’t want to move you were stuck because you knew you needed Shuri mentally it was like you couldn’t live without her those months you spent wondering what she was doing forgive her for the times she neglected you had gone away in the one single moment

Ok I know it's a little bit late but turns out my big Okoye rant just has to be written down or it will keep bothering me. So here we go. Screaming into the void.
The thing is I like Okoye and I think she had nice thing going on in Wakanda Forever. That is up until the point that her plot threads were axed midway and rest of it was given to Nakia of all people? Which sucks for both of them. So in this essay....
The first Black Panther movie build her up nicely as Lawful Neutral character. Which is rare and for me makes really interesting character. She dutifully followed the law when Killmonger took the throne and then just as dutifully was about to kill her husband when it was revealed the throne taking wasn't so lawful after all. Both of those choices were incredibly emotionally hard for her and actually quite rare storytelling wise. Which I loved. What is even better: on top of all that she wasn't punished by the narrative for being lawful instead of going after her heart.
Great! I really, really loved it. Especially when in the new movie they started to nicely build up on that to give her own little plot and character growth.
Well. Up to a point.
But lets focus on what they were clearly building up to.
Okoye loves Wakanda. It's her character virtue since she is Lawful Neutral. But at the same time loving it too much and too blindly is her character flaw.
Wakanda is the best and thus doesn't need to change.
First we saw it in Infinity War with a little side joke about opening Wakanda to the world meant maybe Starbucks and not, well... war.
In Wakanda Forever in one of the first scenes she tells Aneka to give back the daggers since spears are traditional weapon. Which, by virtue of being traditional, are better and it's not going to change on her watch.
For that, the obvious plot resolution would be that Okoye needs to open up to new things (particularly technology). Unfortunately, the thing is, they sort of did that in the movie but in the worst way possible (and I don't just mean that Midnight Angel armor is ugly, you are right sister. It's ugly af) but I'm getting ahead of myself.
Wakanda is the best and thus I'm the best.
Okoye is a bit full of herself, or to be more precise thinks others are not as good since they are not Wakandan. She assumes she can deal with Americans and duh, she is right. She can actually deal with them like nbd. So does it really count as being blinded by her own/ Wakandan awesomeness?
Yes. Yes it does. I love that she is confident in her skills and she has all the right to be but she also knew there is new unknown threat. It was overconfidence on her part to think she can deal with Talokans too.
And she got her ass handled to her in fair fight.
And she broke her promise to queen Ramonda and lost Shuri.
Consequences as plot resolution? It's more likely than you think.
Because yeah. That's where clearly her further plot was axed and given to Nakia (which could be whole other big rant but just so you know: she was done dirty here too). Because let's be real it would fit perfectly.
Classic plot. Hero gets overconfident. Fucks up. As consequence hero loses their privileges/status/whatever. So they go on a quest not to regain their privileges or prove themselves but to right their wrongs.
Often they initially want to prove themselves, but then they learn they need to fix their mistakes because it's a right thing to do. Just after that the narrative can reward them with actually-you-just-have-proven-yourself-plot-twist - here are your privileges back and then some.
In Okoye's sake we can even cut on the second part of that plot. She just goes on a quest to right her wrongs and to save the princess.
Rewrite of a rewritten plot?
So her first overall wrong was dismissal of new technology. Could be righted easily by going to Griot to ask it to help her locate Shuri. It's even still in the movie but instead it's Ramonda who talks with Griot. It shows Griot can locate Shuri, they just added little scene with Nakia doing spy stuff and talking to people because it's her forte.
It would even fit the underwater cave rescue scene better. Because the forceful solution of going in guns blazing would fit more Okoye's desperation. Nakia is a spy. She would be more level headed and just sneak in and out unnoticed. Moreover, since she is more caring people person she wouldn't just leave that one girl to die.
But hey. If they didn't do that they wouldn't have the excuse for war and to have whole second part of the movie and "big" action scene at the end. Which is sadly mandatory in Marvel movies.
But going back to Okoye before I get sidetracked too much.
Just a rewrite... please.
With that the last plot thread for her to resolve would be redo of the fight with Attuma.
And it could and SHOULD follow the classic plot of like Rocky and countless others:
Hero loses a fight
Hero trains some more/ learns new things
Hero wins second fight fair and square
but nooooooo
Instead of mixing it with with opening to new technologies plot - as in asking Griot to help her find weak spots of Talokans. Or even just upgrading her spear to be better in fight with another vibranium spear if you really need to go this way (and clearly don't have time for training montage in this bloated movie)...
nope. Instead we go sorry Okoye you are just too weak. Here, have an armor. Which ok ties to the same new technologies plot thread but at the same time is so damn insulting to Okoye and her skills.
Like really fucking insulting.
It's like going to Cap or Black Widow and saying you are cool with all the fancy kicks and all but lets be real here. You are to week to fight real super powered villains - here have an armor.
Would anyone do that? No. Because it's insulting and goes against what those characters are at their core. Even if they are "too weak" they still would win by their skill, their smarts, their cunning nature or just by their sheer stubbornness.
Because those are their cove virtues.
Because that's how storytelling works.
And just FYI I'm not shitting on characters actually using armors. Oh no. Tony or Riri would win by learning and then building smarter armor. Rhodey would win because he is a solider and for him the armor is just tool of the trade - it's just a tank he happens to wear. But for Okoye or Cap or Natasha or any other hand to hand badass fighter it would go against the very idea their character was built on. It would be plot breaking Deus Ex Machina solution. Everyone would be bitching that writers written themselves into a corner and found very unsatisfying plot resolution that doesn't work.
But since Okoye is a side character and this movie has way too much going on in general, it's just left as it is.
And I'm very salty about that.

Hey Jordan, when it comes to Disney +, what have been your thoughts for each of the MCU shows and the movies that have been recently released?
i'll start by talking about my favorite show which is wandavision. i absolutely love that show and think it's the best one out there by a mile. the second runnerup is loki (I haven't seen the new season yet, so no spoilers!) the third one is definitely hawkeye!
i haven't seen FATWS only because when it came out, there was only loki and wandavision, and I heard that FATWS wasn't that good in the sense that there was no character development like there was in the other two. I'll have to watch it eventually because it's going into my marvel rewrite, but that's way later down the line
i absolutely love the what if...? series and wish there were more seasons and episodes. i think it's a very cool concept
i don't know why eternals gets so much hate because that movie is definitely in my top three in every MCU film that's ever been made. the CGI is done so well and I love the storyline
i haven't seen moonknight and i don't know if i will
if you want to read my thoughts about dr. strange 2, you can read them here!
i watched ms. marvel and didn't dislike it. it's a good show as a introduction to the character, but I didn't connect with it as much as I wanted to. though, I am excited to see the marvels this november!
i also loved thor love and thunder. i thought it was really funny and don't know why it got so much hate
i haven't seen she hulk and i don't know if I will, either. some say it's very funny and some say it's terrible. hulk was never my favorite character, and I hate what marvel has done to bruce banner's character by mixing the hulk and banner together
i liked wakanda forever but i think it was cheap because chad died. i think that they had a different story in mind knowing he was going to play t'challa again but when he died, they put together a half-assed script at the last second instead fo regrouping and coming up with a better story. (I also don't see the point in ri-ri's character in the movie other than she's an omen for the next iron man)
ant man 3 is another movie i absolutely loved and don't know why it deserved the hate it did. i love paul rudd and think he's a great ant man. i thought the movie was so funny and really well done. i think people had an issue with kang's character because ant man beat him, but I don't think they realize that it was one version of kang, not the strongest. plus, he was in the quantum realm, and he's less powerful down there. i don't know what Marvel is going to do with kang's actor since I hear he got arrested? accused of DV? I'm not sure what's going on there
the third GOTG movie is top tier. i absolutely LOVED that movie. GOTG is definitely my favorite trilogy next to ant man's trilogy and spiderman's trilogy
finally, i haven't seen secret invasion yet even though I want to. i guess I'm waiting for all the episodes to come out before I watch it. i stopped waiting for episodes every week as soon as I got streaming services. i'd rather wait to binge them all instead of wait once per week.
let me know your thoughts or if you want me to elaborate on something!

The rumors are true:
Wakanda Forever >>>> Black Panther
I won't say why yet. And most people who feel this way loved Black Panther and didn't expect it to be topped.
Honestly, with all the behind the scenes stuff and Ryan basically having to rewrite the script after Chadwick's death, my expectations were nonexistent. I guess I just expected to love it as a nice tribute piece to Chadwick.
It was so much more.

Challenge: briefly rewrite a scene in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever as a happier version. Can also be an offscreen scene.
I’ll go first:
Tumblr media
Ramonda felt lighter all of a sudden. The world swam back into her mind and she could open her eyes.
She was underwater.
The throne room floor stood shattered above her head, and a limp figure sank to the depths below her. Riri was still unconscious.
The Queen thought fast, and unclipped the beautiful gown off her to get rid of the extra weight. Shuri had bullied her into taking so many measures that she had packed a telescopic oxygen generator in a kimoyo bead, anticipating the need to swim while fighting the stupid fish-man.
Rage filled her as she hooked her arms under Ms. Williams’ and paddled upwards. The tiny snorkel could provide only enough oxygen in a minute to swim a few meters, so Ramonda held onto it until she really needed air. Her limbs burned from the lactic acid as well as her age, but her anger at Namor put power into her strokes, and the water was starting to get brighter.
Her lungs were on fire, and only then did she gulp air from the bead. Her arms felt like they would fall off, and still, she heaved Riri onto what she hoped, was stable glass.
She could almost feel Namor hovering outside with a crazed grin.
The throne-room doors burst open, and she could hear familiar voices:
“Kumkanikazi!”
“Mother? Riri?”
Shuri’s soft, bony hands wrapped around her face as Ramonda watched Nakia bend over Riri. The Queen fell limp and called Shuri to listen close:
“Make him think I’m dead. Or he’s not going to stop here.”
Shuri was already weeping in relief, so she bent down to touch her forehead against her mother. Beside them, Nakia managed to make Riri spit out water from her airway, much to their relief.
They faintly heard Namor’s gloating words of farewell before watching him dive back into the flood of his making.
“Shuri?” Ramonda whispered, panting for the delicious surge of air she now had access to.
The Princess sniffled as she hugged her mama. “You glad you kept the generator?”
Ramonda chuckled as she felt Okoye’s arms around her. “Thank Bast...”
Shuri raised an eyebrow, but she was smiling.
“... that I had you as my daughter.” Ramonda completed.

Shazam! Fury of the Gods Review
Tumblr media
What's going on everyone! Dan here and today I'll be reviewing Shazam! Fury of the Gods!
I'll try to not give as much spoilers as possible but there will be some, you've been warned.
First off I'd like to say, I loved the first Shazam! movie from 2019. I thought it was the best DC hero movie made in the 2010's even beating out movies like Man of Steel and the Dark Knight Rises. So when I heard Shazam! was getting a sequel, I was excited and looking forward to it thinking it'll be as good as the original, maybe even better. Unfortunately that was not the case as this movie was a bit messier than the original in terms of plot and some character development issues. This movie was horrible, but it wasn't as great as I was hoping either. I'll be going over the strengths and weaknesses of this film.
Tumblr media
Now this is where the real problems start, Dwayne Johnson aka The Rock. As we all know, Johnson wanted the role of the Black Adam character and years later as he is now one of the top A list actors in the business, he got his wish. However, He would only do the role if he got his own stand alone Black Adam movie which he did, I have a full review of The Black Adam movie and mentioned this in that review but didn't go into how it would hurt the Shazam! franchise. At the cost of giving Black Adam his own solo film, it crippled the sequel for Shazam! especially given that Black Adam is the most iconic villain Captain Marvel himself has in his rogue's gallery. I'm sure this sequel was meant to have these two meet but unfortunately Dwayne got his way and pretty much left the Shazam crew scrambling. It's a similar situation to Black Panther: Wakanda Forever where they had the plot ready but due to the death of Chadwick Boseman they had to rewrite the script which had a very mixed reception to say the least. I find it to be a real shame we didn't get the battle of Captain Marvel vs Black Adam on the big screen, that would have been epic. Who knows? maybe they'll work something out to where they'll meet and fight, maybe Superman can get in on this too like Superman/Shazam: Return of Black Adam (which is honestly great). Though I highly doubt that as Zachery Levi and Dwayne Johnson are going through some beef due to this issue. But as it stands, they had to rewrite the script and salvage what they could.
Tumblr media
The plot now is there are three daughters of a god named Atlas, these gods were sealed away and because of the events of the last movie, the seal is broken and they are free. Now they're after the Marvel family deeming that mortals should not have powers of the gods. They try to take those powers away all while trying to get the gold apple to plant the tree of life back at their home to restore it to its former beauty. The villains here were more or less made for the movie and aren't really Captain Marvel villains, they fit more as Wonder Woman villains if I'm being honest. The villains aren't bad and I do like the actresses who portrayed them. The sisters provided three different sides/views such as Anthea (Rachael Zegler) being the good side of the sisters, Hespera (Helen Mirren) being the neutral side of the sisters, and Kalypso (Lucy Liu) being the evil side of the sisters. They all did a great job in their role, their powers are cool but I feel are underutilized from their full potential against the Marvel Family. Hespera controlling elements she should basically be the Avatar and use all the elements to greater degrees but is mostly used as like a power puncher, Kalypso has the power to whisper in your ear and make you do as she commands and even spread it like a plague but its only used in the first half of the movie and is pretty much forgotten about later on when she has her dragon to destroy everything. Anthea has the power of accessibility where she can pull a Doctor Strange and can warp the room and areas around which is honestly cool VFX. The fighting and VFX were not bad honestly, definitely better than what Marvel has been churning out lately. As I said, they did good and served their purpose, but I would have preferred Black Adam or even another Captain Marvel villain like say Chain Lightning, she would probably be better to add to the story than random gods.
Tumblr media
The main cast did a great job again like in the first one, Zachery Levi as Captain Marvel did great, I enjoy his humor and him as a boy in a grown mans body just like the rest of the cast being kids in adult bodies. I love the dialogue and humor with the Marvel family. I will say that there is a bit of development for Billy with having abandonment issues which makes him hold on too tight to everyone around him and Freddy especially gets sick and tired of it which causes some issues within the Marvel Family. Freddy was basically the B plot of this movie with him wanting to do his own thing whether it be as a hero or just his personal life in general but Billy is just reluctant to the idea of anyone in his family going off and doing their own thing. I wish these aspects of character development was more prevalent through out the film but it was sprinkled in here and there. at the end, Billy realizes that his family will always be there for him and this helps him realize that the wizard chose right with him. There is a cameo towards the end of a familiar hero and they'll be crucial towards the end after the final battle.
Tumblr media
Post credit scenes are a bit jarring but reflects what plans they have for the Shazam franchise (if they can get any backing behind it now). There are two post credit scenes this movie has and both I think are meant to set up another Shazam! movie in the near future. Though after the mixed to somewhat negative reception of the Shazam! sequel, odds of there being another Shazam! movie is a bit slimmer than before. I honestly wouldn't mind another Shazam! movie but right now DC is just a complete mess with projects being cancelled out of nowhere, The Flash still going forward as planned despite the Ezra Miller controversies, and with Warner Bros just being a complete fiasco right now. Things are uncertain but hopefully things will be better from here on out or at least after The Flash movie.
Tumblr media
Overall, the sequel wasn't as good as the original. I felt that Dwayne Johnson really threw this franchise under the bus and left them to pick up the pieces. As I said I like the Shazam! movie, I like Zachery Levi and I wanted to like this sequel but so many problems plagued this production. I wish they could have taken more time to make it better but I guess it is what it is. It's not terrible, just underwhelming compared tot he original. Hopefully DC/WB can get it together and churn out bangers in the future.
Rating this movie I'd give it:
6.5/10
Despite the problems it suffered in production, it is still a fun movie to watch and if you're looking for a fun movie with kids or family then this is definitely serviceable. I'm hoping The Flash and the upcoming Blue Beetle movie will be better but we'll see. That's all I have to say.
See ya!

Okay so like, idk if I’ve spoken about it but my mcu rewrite will have a whole different phase 4 and a saga between ‘infinity’ and ‘multiverse’. And that’s time. Because I’m able to tie it to both and I want more build up before the multiverse is explored.
I’ve not smoothed out all of the wrinkles, but I know how it’s gonna start and end.
Warning: this contains small spoilers for Wakanda forever and other Phase four movies and shows, be mindful as you read and avoid mentions of anything you don’t want spoilers for
Wandavision, and most of the other series we got, will still apply, and hopefully I will be able to use them to show the after affects of the Blip a little, because Ahh that shits spooky. Loki has changes, including with how it deals with the idea of ‘why was the avengers time travelling okay?’.
With that, the idea was that it wasn’t okay, it wasn’t meant to happen, it was something that He Who Remains didn’t predict and found amusing, he wanted to see how that story played out (despite knowing the risks of what it could cause), and he allowed the timeline to continue running to see where it went. The TVA agents wanted to do something about it, but they couldn’t, so they lie to themselves and claim it as part of his ‘big plan’. They try to do damage control with Loki and such to make up for it
The show ends with the freedom of the timelines, and they run rampant, the repercussions of which creates the Kang timeline, and allows him to have full reign over wherever, and whenever he wants to go. Big big issue, though thankfully he ends up stuck in the quantum realm trying to timeline hop, but that’s a temporary issue.
Ideally Black Widow will be a film that I do much earlier in my rewrite and it shall not be part of this phase/saga.
Wakanda Forever still deals with the concept of time whilst not directly contributing to the timeline mess. I have decided to have it follow T’Challa (all respect to Chadwick Boseman and his passing, I’m thankful the mcu changed route with it as there is no one that would be able to replace what he did with the character), and the idea of lost time with his son, and trying to make up for it throughout the course of the film. A big struggle would be trying to deal with Namor whilst also fighting to spend every last moment with his son, and knowing it’s best to send him away where he won’t be impacted by the fighting.
Thor:Love and Thunder probably won’t have anything to do with the timeline stuff, but will be introducing Gaia as his birth mother. Because Timeline saga? Pfft, nah, parental trauma saga. Frigga is still respected as his mother, as she raised him and was his mother in every aspect aside from birth, but Gaia is there to explain why, despite the fact that Thor should’ve logically lost his power with the destruction of Asgard (as Hela did), he didn’t. Because he’s as tied to earth as he is tied to his home. And, for anyone wondering about this change, it’s comic accurate (technically *was*, as they changed his mother to FireHair in the comics but there are many writers that ignore this and so I have the balls to ignore it too, because Gaia being his mother was not only a really cool concept but also funny for me because… well the family tree gets a little complicated and also means he’s technically related to multiple avengers (comics-wise)
More on TLAT, I’m changing up the whole ‘storm breaker used to open the thing to eternity’ because it’s way too specific, it’ll be that the power of an elder god must be channelled, and Gaia will have blessed Thor earlier on in the film with some of her power, and Storm Breaker draws it’s power from Thor, so technicalities make it work. I have a lot of thoughts about TLAT and the inclusion of Elder Gods in the MCU as a whole. Especially when taking MOM and WV into consideration in the Elder God conversation, as both of those films explore both directly and indirectly an elder god and the creator of them (Cthon- Wanda draws power from, The Demiurge- Created America’s planet pre-retcon, both are somehow involved in both WV and MOM).
And talking about MOM, Ahhh… so much shall be changed, but important thing, it’s not about the multiverse anymore, and won’t include America. I’m leaving her until later on, when I can get more wriggle room to do the Demiurge thing. Also because the fact that she doesn’t recognise the Minimoffs when she sees them was a scam and I will remove her entirely if needed. Instead, I’m replacing it with an entirely different film.
Wanda is getting hunted by demons, who force her out of hiding after WestView. Strange intends on taking justice against her originally, but when he realises how much danger she is in, and will bring to any facility that tries to hold her because of her being hunted, he decides to save her a little bit first, but makes sure she knows she will be punished accordingly once all is done. Throughout the film Wanda would try and meddle with Steven’s love life, pushing him to ask out Christine and the likes because she won’t be alive forever, something will get her eventually, and she doesn’t have the protection against Illness, age and violence that Steven does. He shuts her advice down every time. They bond, and Strange begins to try and adjust the punishments she may get. She did bad things, she deserves punishment, but she already knows she did something wrong, and she needs major help, so whilst she will get punishment, it’ll be more suited to ensuring she doesn’t do it again, and getting her to give to the world in kindness what she’s given in rage. And then they realise why the demons were being sent to her at all, and Wanda almost accepts her fate. Strange doesn’t think death suitable for her, and I’m trying to stop the demons, gets hurt. And, again, they’ve bonded, and trying to protect her friend, Wanda accidentally draws from Cthon a little too much to decimate the man that summoned the demons to begin with. She flees, fearing what she’s done, and the film ends with Strange going back to Wong in attempts to get him to help him find where Wanda ran off to.
I spent a long time on MOM… wow. Anyways.
I don’t have much to say for the Eternals or for Shang Chi. I will need to rewatch them both. Same for most of the series, actually.
One change in particular for She-Hulk, have it a mostly lawyer show, a little longer, disregard the weird ‘people trying to get her blood’ thing since the conclusion was quite literally scrapped anyways. And have her visit a psychologist after she shows off that she’s She-Hulk (because the Sokovia/Transia Accords - I’m swapping Sokovia for Transia for comic accuracy - are still in place and dictate that anyone with registered abilities must attend regular therapy sessions for the first six months of their power developing/being registered to ensure emotional and mental stability.). And Jen’s psychologist will be one Rebecca Kaplan, because if I’m building up to the Young Avengers, I’m putting my whole ass into it.
No way home will also be pushed to a later date simply because…. That’s multiverse shit, not touching it yet. (Will still make sure it happens at an appropriate time)
I’ll get to talking about the saga as a whole layer, and all, but these are my Phase Four plans so far :)

Hey Seek!
So I’m starting to work my way through your master list. I just read The Truest Stars We Know and loves it! I did notice at the end you said it was going to be a part of a series. I tried looking, but i just want to make sure I didn’t miss the next part!
So excited to read some of your later work! I have just gotten into this world over the past through months! Any that you recommend that I read next?!
Thanks!!
Tumblr media
I am so glad that you enjoyed that series!!!! I had every intention of writing a sequel (as I still think imagining a world where Mary Jane Watson is MCU MJ’s mom is interesting!!!) but other WIPs took me away. Never say never!!!
As for your second question, SCREAM!!!!?????? I never rec my own work when asked for fic recs because it seems very self serving (and also super silly) but I would LOVE to give you some self recs. The work that I think is My Very Best can all be found here in this series but since I’m as obnoxious as hell, here’s a breakdown by year of my top 3 fics (specifically solo fics):
2019
The Five People Who Missed Peter Parker the Most (my first fic)
Someday We’ll Know (an a walk to remember au)
2020
graceless (drunk Peter)
Your Hand in Mine (post IW/EG rewrite)
like a dream (you can’t quite place) (Felicia pov inspired by Satisfied from Hamilton)
2021
Indirect Proof (spider-man: blue but make it MCU)
Cosmic Love (gwenmj post blip meta)
No Need to Say Goodbye (May Dies trope, non-misogynistic version)
2022
when you help someone, you help everyone (outsider POV immediately post NWH)
I know who you pretend I am (pepper and may friendship pre and during NWH)
from the sidelines (spider-man: blue but make it MCU, take 2)
2023 (so far)
point of view (MCU comic blend)
lift me up (post NWH and post Wakanda Forever)
sending my love (Adam project inspired, May POV)
Despite how self serving this is gonna sound, if you enjoy please let me know!! I love getting asks but there’s nothing like reading a comment on the fic in question, especially as that stands the test of time and is something I love going back to 😌❤️

My Movie Review: "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever"
Tumblr media
I saw “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” this past weekend!  I just wanted to share my own personal Movie Review, and maybe we can discuss it (Spoiler-Free).
**NOTE:  I will first start off by giving a very general overview/review of the movie overall, and then further down below in the “keep reading” section, I will discuss the pros and cons from the movie, and will go more in-depth and be more candid with how I felt about the movie, but IT WILL CONTAIN SPOILERS, so I just want to make sure everyone is aware of that.  So, if you DON’T want any spoilers, DO NOT click the section to “read more”.
With that said….
OVERALL:
Overall, this movie is definitely one to check out and see on the big screen.  It is visually spectacular, the music is great, and the story definitely held my attention.  I LOVED how this movie dealt with grief and the up and down rollercoaster of emotions that someone can experience when they’ve lost someone that they love dearly to death.  ☹  The film was VERY moving, and I found myself shedding a tear in a couple of parts during the movie, and not too many films did that for me this year.
This was a visually spectacular film.  The costumes were AMAZIINNNG!!!!!!😍 OMG they definitely deserve an Oscar nod just for the costume designs ALONE lol. 👏🏾 Oh and the ACTING!  Chiiiiilllle….the acting in this film was SUPERB!  Miss Angela Basset did her thing y’all!  Letitia had some pretty decent scenes as well.   I see some ladies are already LOVING the villain in the film, Namor lol.  He wasn’t bad-looking imo.  He’s already got some fans I see hahaha. 🤣
I felt like the film did a very nice tribute to Chadwick, and I found myself getting sad during certain parts remembering his passing.  You can definitely tell that they have to rewrite the script almost completely and change the plot direction of the film due to their lead actor’s unexpected passing away, and so I will try not to be TOO overly judgmental in my more in-depth review of the “pros” and “cons” down below.  I liked how they also kept some humor in the film though, so it wasn’t all just crying and pain.
I’m definitely going to have to watch this movie again soon in order to get some more of the subtle messages in the film as well as to appreciate it more.
MY OVERALL SCORE:  7.5/10   (I know I’ll probably get pelted with tomatoes for saying this buttttt….. Honestly? I felt the first “Black Panther” movie was MUCH better. Sequels are tough sometimes because there’s that huge pressure and expectation to be better than the first movie.🥴)
**HINT: Make sure to stay to the mid-credt scenes after the movie has ended!   You definitely don’t want to miss that lol.  There isn’t a second after credit scene, so you don’t have to sit there until all the credits are over lol.
Now on to my more CANDID review (WITH SPOILERS) below…
.
.
.
⚠️⚠️DO NOT READ if you DON’T want any SPOILERS!
.
.
.
.
I’m warning you lol…
.
.
.
Turn back now lol….Last chance….😄
.
.
.
.
PROS:
I LOVED seeing “Black Excellence” onscreen.  Omg the women were so beautiful!  It’s so rare that we see DARKER-skinned black women featured in mainstream films with POSITIVE representation, so it’s just always refreshing to see that in this franchise. 😊
I LOVED how they introduced Iron Heart into the franchise.  Riri!
I LOVED the wonderful little tributes to Chadwick in the film, especially the beginning part with the Marvel “Intro”.  I was so touched that they did that for him.  *sob*😭😭
I loved the humor in the film… Some parts made me laugh literally out loud lol.
I liked how they kept the subtle political messages throughout in the film just like they had in the first film.  Some of the elements were pretty deep.
I LOVEEEDD seeing my boo Michael B. Jordan back onscreen again!😍😍 I had a feeling they were going to add him in the movie as a cameo in SOME way, so it was nice seeing him onscreen again. I STILL think they killed him off too soon in the first movie imo.
CONS:
I think my MAIN “con” with this film was that I almost felt like it didn’t really focus on the Wakandans as much as I would have liked.  While I’m glad that they gave the villain Namor a back-story, and explained his reason for why he felt the way he did, I almost felt like they spent just a TAD bit too much time on the blue underwater creatures too soon/early in the film, and all throughout.  Idk… maybe it’s just me.
I felt like the film was missing the same “Magic” that the first film had, but I think that had more to do with the fact that the film didn’t really seem to focus on “US” (black people) as much as the first film did.  I don’t think it had much to do with Chadwick’s passing as it had more to do with where the focus was in the film.  At one point I was like, “Are we watching Black Panther? Or Aquaman??”  ROTFL
I didn’t like how the film made the Wakandans look weak and helpless in so many scenes.  Granted, you don’t want a perfect character or country because that’s just as equally annoying at times.  But I felt that there were so many instances that the Wakandans were made to look weak, and I think that part of the reason why the first movie worked so well was that it FINALLY showed black people (Africans) in a state of POWER, and not weakness.  Idk…just a minor gripe.
My other MAIN gripe was that they KILLED Queen Ramonda!!! I was like, NOOOO!!!! ☹  They did NOT have to kill our Queen like that!  Smh! I was really mad at that decision tbh.  I know they wanted Shuri to have a really HUGE reason to harvest her rage, but they did NOT have to do it like that!
RANDOM THOUGHTS
Lawwwddd….why did I get the feeling that M’Baku was gonna propose marriage to Shuri in the forest?? ROTFL!  I was like: “Whaaaaaaa???”
Omg was I the ONLY one who literally GASPED in the theater when Nakia brought out T’Challa Jr.?? LOL!  I literally sat up in my seat and yelled out: “NO WAAAAY!!!!”
Did anyone else get the feeling that Namor was kinda feeling Shuri? But then again, I kinda got the feeling that Riri had a crush on Shuri too lol 🤣
What was up with all of the bald-headed/ashy jokes towards Okoye?? I don’t know if I liked that too much.
Omg the little actor boy they chose to be Nakia and T'Challa's son was sooo cuuute!! 😊 He looked like he could have really been their child! Lol
