Back to School Challenge: Day 2
What are you excited about?
I am so excited to find out where I'll be rotating as an MS1. We've started our "doctoring" course (where they teach us how to interview, examine, and talk to patients like human beings). Soon we'll start our "Community Clinical Experience", where we're assigned to local community clinics (anywhere from jails to family med clinics to OBGYN). I'm hoping to be placed at a refugee clinic.

I'm back, bitches.
A lil updateeeee ~
To explain why I've been gone so much - in short, COVID and uni. I've just started my BSc in Biomedical Science at King's College London and because it's all remote, lectures take me twice as long to complete than they normally would in person. And that's with the recording at x1.75 speed 😭
I'm trying to be more active on Tumblr now, and I've made a studygram too (haribos.x.med) but I don't know what to post on it yet - suggestions are welcome! On Tumblr, I'm going to start another 100 days of productivity because I'm getting less motivated and I need something to force me to do my work 😬
My inbox is open for anyone that has A-level or uni questions related to science and maths (and even English, I'm alright at it and can help out) but I can't promise I'll be quick to respond if I'm busy.
Love you all and I will post tomorrow with the first day of 100!

Daily Routine
Lmao routine what’s that?
- Get up (If I’m able too)
- Take meds
- Go to class
- Pretend like I have any idea what’s going on
- (I have no idea what's going on)
- Eat with friends
- Go home
- Look at homework, realizing I’ve ether a)forgotten everything I learned in class today or b) the professor just didn’t cover that topic and now I must spent 3+ hours googling everything.
- Rage
- Watches YouTube videos and checks in to do all my dailies for Love Nikki and a few other games
- Look at textbooks, I know I got to read them, but nah....
-  *Sometimes Kind of just sit.. and .. do nothing... when depression wants to be a lil bitch.
- Cook dinner
- Take a shower
- More You Tube
- Sleep
- *All of this subject to change if I have a day where I physically cannot get up, in which case I stay in bed all day

30 days of back to school challenge
3. What's in my backpack?
Tumblr media
First I have to tell you: my bag is big and messy. But I'm trying to be smart about what I bring with my self on a usual school day. It's still gonna be a long post tho...
Tumblr media
I always bring some reusable bags because I'm working on producing less waste and having these things with me all the time works best for me.
Tumblr media
Electronics:
My laptop, it's charger and a charger for my phone.
I take notes on my laptop because some of my prifessors talk really fast and I can't follow them if I write notes by hand... And it won't look that messy so I don't have to rewrite it, only print it out so it means less use of paper.
Tumblr media
I always have my bullet journal with me and I started to use a small notebook for writing down important books and films my teacher or friends mention as must knows.
To uni I usually only bring this smaller pencilcase and some highlighters.
Tumblr media
I wear glasses for reading, working on my computer and watching films. And I also need my earphones because I travel a lot.
Tumblr media
I always have some (wet)wipes, gums, handsenitizers, lipbalm and handcream and my B12 vitamin (it's a spray I use twice a day).
Tumblr media
I always have a book with me because I try to read more these days. I'm currently reading Little Women by Louisa May Alcott.
Tumblr media
Snacks, water and reusable fork, spoon and straw are essencials for me as well.
Tumblr media
Lastly I bring my wallett, my ID-s and my keys with me, of course.

Hi everyone!! I’m back again with day two. Off to a good start I guess :)
So, today’s prompt was about what I’m excited for this school year. And there’s so much!!
This is my last year at my school after ten years. That means that there’s graduation, special lunches and even more to look forward to.
Then there’s also student council and school sports which I try and take part in as much as possible.

9. 10. 2019. 9/100
Today I wrote my first midterm for developmental genetics and got my assignment from last month back in the same course. It was a straightforward assignment, but I've been lacking confidence, so it was really nice to see that I got a good mark! I'm working on bioinformatics again tonight, and I'm gonna practice violin for a bit pretty soon.
I didn't post yesterday, but I had a good day! I got my response paper back in my Arabic Lit course with an A-, had a useful meeting with my registrar, and went for a swim before going back to my development notes to prep for today.
@universi-tea 's Back to School Challenge
8/9 before/after // good morning!
Before/after...Hmm I'm not sure what this means. I felt a lot better after my swim, but hungrier than before 😅 I'm more open to talking in the morning after coffee. What else. My hair hasn't changed in 5M years so that just doesn't apply. I was a lot less anxious before starting my degree. Now I fret about tests and jump at sounds. Oddly, I'm also more confident - I have been Through It in the past few years and I know I *can* get through it now, more so.
Good morning? What's a good morning? I kid. Sort of. I'm really more of a night person, but in the morning before I do anything else I turn the light on and drink some water, and it helps. My routine went up two days ago, but there is one other nice thing - sometimes my boyfriend sends pictures of his day so far or cutesy good morning texts (he's 6h ahead so it's afternoon there when I get up).

30 Days of Back to School Challenge
Day 4 - Study Essentials
I'm not sure if this is to do with equipment or things that are essential to study/revise properly, but I'm gonna do a bit of both!
Equipment:
Obviously, pens - I'm all for romanticising the simple things in life to feel more motivated, so you could either go for the simple biro or get a fountain pen and pretend you're writing a letter to a loved one?
Pencils, eraser, sharpener - Really useful/needed if you're gonna annotate books that aren't yours or draw diagrams/graphs/tables.
Notebooks - Take. NOTES. Regardless of where you live, the examiners have preferred terminology and language that they want you to use in your exams, so listen to what your teachers say (and HOW they say it too can be useful sometimes - repeated and emphasised phrases are a dead giveaway) and Jot. Them. Down.
Maths equipment (only for maths I suppose) - If you do maths, make sure you have everything you need with you in the exam and for lessons.
Highlighter and different coloured pens - These don't have to be the expensive ones and you don't need lots of them. Use a highlighter to make key points stand out and use a different colour to mark your work.
A bullet journal - Can be just a normal notebook you use for this, but you need one in case your teacher tells you things you need to know unrelated to the lessons, such as due dates or exam dates.
Revising effectively:
Of course, this is different for everyone but I'll write what I think is essential for me.
Self discipline and resilience - I'm super unmotivated most of the time for reasons I've talked about previously, but I know I won't get anywhere without work so I need to study even on days I don't feel like it and this is the only way to do that.
Flash cards - I've said this before and I'll say it again, I don't know where I'd be without Quizlet right now. Flash cards have been the best way to revise for me and the read, cover, write, repeat has been the way to to for me.
Past paper questions!!!! - The only way to get good at anything is to practice effectively. The reason I say that is because you can do past paper questions and do them wrong. I don't mean get the incorrect answer. I mean get the incorrect answer and learn nothing from it. Do a question, mark it harshly, annotate it, write an ideal answer using the mark scheme on a flash card, do the read/cover/write/repeat method until you've got it, re-do the question and repeat the process until you've got full marks.
Use resources available to you - Do. NOT. Limit. Yourself. To. One. Resource. Use your textbooks, revision guides, YouTube videos, class notes, etc. Write notes on all of them. Combine them. Condense them. This is all for your future, use everything you can.
Self care - You won't get anywhere if you're burnt out. Take care of yourself. Eat and sleep properly. Put yourself first. You can always re-do the year if you need to and try again and erase everything from the previous year, but once you've got deteriorated health it's hard to get it back on track.

Day 20 of the Back to School Challenge
Day 20: Doodles
I missed yesterday’s challenge (show off your favourite back to school outfit) cause I have a uniform so all of my outfits are exactly the same. And I can’t really do today’s challenge cause I have the artistic ability of a rock.
So anyway here’s some notes and a plan I made for my very first history level. Thanks to @emmastudies for the essay plan printable!

09.23.19 // Day 27: Your favorite study spot
There are so many amazing places to study here! I love going to the sundecks and patios hidden on campus; being outside in the autumn air is truly delicious 😋 I also love grabbing boba or coffee off-campus as a little treat to myself! ☕️
