Ain't it crazy that alot of people on this site are more comfortable being around people who talk non stop about being into incest than survivors who are vocal about wanting those people to fuckin kill themselves?

I don't enjoy "dumb inbred southerner" stereotypes. I personally find it gross and insulting especially since those types of jokes and tropes are usually aimed at poor people (despite upper classes historically being pretty well known for marrying their cousins). And when the movies bring it up it doesn't tend to have a point - no drama or sympathy, just seems to be there for shock value.

They may have incredibly skewed morals but they do value family. Even when they're pissed at each other they still tend to show each other loyalty.

When was inbreeding ever mentioned in the first movie?? Or the second?? I don't recall it being brought up until TCM 3, and even then it's not always a part of the franchise. The reboot movies didn't have it for example, and when the Hewitts were accused of it they were clearly insulted.

Yeah, I remember talking to someone in PA and my southern popped out of a moment, and that person and their friends started making in*est jokes to 'break the ice' and other jokes including intelligence and bigotry immediatly, and didn't understand why I was upset about it.
