Remus’ is scared that his partner doesn’t want him anymore, and he wants to make up for whatever he did. His Scare Bear clears the air and comes out.

Remus was scared. It took a lot to scare the wily tattoo artist, and this was making his heart race. He was afraid that his long-term boyfriend wanted to break up.

He drummed his fingers on his leg and knocked on Virgil's door, holding a shopping bag with a tub of ice cream and mini brownies. He needed a peace offering before groveling, even if he didn't do anything wrong he would beg for forgiveness.

"Remus?" Virgil asked when he opened the door. He was shaking and biting his lip. Did Virgil forget about movie night? Did he want to?

"Hey Scare Bear, it's Friday, I thought we were going to watch the Conjuring tonight. Did I come at a bad time?"

"It's Friday already?" V mumbled, "I kinda forgot. Uh, you can come in. I'll get everything set up."

"If you don't want to, we can do something else or I can go. I know I'm a lot to deal with and if you're tired—"

Virgil grabbed his shirt and dragged him into the apartment. Remus let his taller partner drag him to the couch and sat down.

"I'll put the ice cream in the freezer. And uh there's something we need to talk about—" Virgil said and took the bag.

"Please don't leave me! I can do better! Whatever it is I did, I know we can work through it! You're the best thing that ever happened to me and I want to try!" Remus cut him off and fell to his knees. Virgil stared at him and tilted his head, as if the thought never crossed his mind.

"I'll be right back, I promise. Just get off the floor," Virgil said softly and helped him off the floor. Remus was still terrified when he left.

He couldn't lose Virgil, they weren't a perfect pair but goddamn did they build each other up and keep each other in line. But three months of Virgil being distant and disinterested in cuddles, much less sex, was worrying. Did he do something wrong?

"Alright," Virgil said and sat down next to him without looking at him, "I don't know how to ask this without being weird, but you're into men, right?"

"Yeah? It's not like you watched me argue with Roman over who the gay twin is for like six years or something," Remus pouted.

"Then maybe you should go find one to be your boyfriend," Virgil sighed and curled into a ball.

"I don't want anyone else, Scare Bear. Do I have to beg on my knees again? I will. I will grovel. I will beg and plead and rip out my tongue and eyeballs."

"Remus, I'm—I'm not a man. I don't want to lose you but I can't keep hiding."

"You mean, you're trans. What flavor?"

"Woman. She/her. I've been on E for—"

"—at least three months. That explains so much!" Remus gasped and pulled her into his chest, "Do you have a new name to go with the pronouns?"

"Violetta. Um—Vi for short."

"That's such a good name for you!" Remus gushed and hugged her waist, "It's so pretty and mysterious! And I don't mind screaming it in the bedroom! Why did it take you so long to say something?"

"I thought you might not want to be with me if I wasn't a man. You brag about being gay all the time and this—"

"I like men of all shapes and junk, but you had better believe that I am so incredibly Vi-sexual it's maddening!"

"'Vi-sexual?' Really?" Vi snicked and got comfortable in his lap. She leaned against him and closed her eyes, letting him rub her arm.

"Yup! No matter what gender, you're you and you make my heart orgasm—ooh!" Remus said before accidentally brushing over her chest, "Your boobies are growing in!"

"Yeah, they started growing fast. They might be as big as yours soon," Vi jeered. Remus glanced down at his own chest and giggled. He had some nice muscle boobs and he loved to flaunt them!

"If that happens you're gonna have a problem. Namely me. Boobs are for squish and I like to squish!"

Vi laughed and pulled him to her chest, squishing him against her humble squish. Remus giggled and nuzzled into her chest.

"That's not a problem, you dork!"

"Good! Because you're soft and I'm so in love with you it hurts!" Remus giggled and tilted his head up, "I want to kiss you."

Vi cupped his cheek and leaned down. She pressed her lips to his, for just a moment.

"God damn, I missed that," she mumbled against his mouth, tickling her lip with his mustache, "I missed this."

"I missed you too, Violetta. I missed your warmth and your lips and your radiant decay," Remus said and kissed her cheek, "And I'm ready to go with you on this adventure." He slowly kissed down her neck, enjoying the soft moan that escaped her lips.

"Mmm, Remus," she sighed and guided him away from her neck, "I'm still figuring out where I'm sensitive."

"Did you want to find out more tonight or should we cuddle up, watch a movie, and eat ice cream?"

"Cuddles, but maybe we can kiss too?"

"If you want to!" Remus giggled and wiggled his eyebrows, "I am taking every chance I get to kiss my girlfriend!"

Vi flushed and hid her face in her hands. Remus giggled and held her closer by the waist. He knew he did something right if it got her flustered.

"I really like hearing you say that," she grumbled.

"I really like saying that," Remus hummed, "Almost as much as I like seeing my girlfriend's flustered smile."

"Thanks," she said and lowered her hands, "Thank you for being so chill about this."

"You're learning stuff about you, you're still gorgeous, and you still love me—I am anything but chill, Vi! I'm excited and ecstatic!" Remus jeered and kissed her cheek.

"You really are the best, Cuddlefish," she said and melted into his embrace. She was happy that this confrontation went better than she hoped. Remus could say the same thing.

i love DLAMP as a dynamic however i find it viscerally boring when theyre all boyfriends that have a completely normal relationship but also boring when they are just besties. i need them to be Insane and weird.

moceit is in an on-and-off again that could be straight out of a sitcom with how bullshit the dramatics are. they are so divorced and also married. this somehow does not effect the rest of the polycule.

janus keeps trying to break up analogical. virgil and logan both think this is him flirting. this pisses virgil off, and makes logan blush. logan and janus have made out abt this before. virgil and janus almost did but virgil panicked, bit him, and ran away.

moxiety and royality are both very VERY cute qprs. prinxiety arent dating or a qpr but they do occasionally make out. usually after sparring or after heated arguments. no one knows why, and no one plans to ask.

virgil one time, for sillies put out official polycule roles for everyone on the fridge. patton was the cook, roman was twink, janus was gender transer, and logan was tax-filer, before virgil scratched it out and replaced it with "poor little meow meow". the chaos after shouldve been expected.

(janus's official role is Gender Transer bc her being genderfluid made both virgil (bigender, she/he) and logan (transfem, they/she) realize they may Not Be Cis.)

remus isnt in the polycule but he has Something going on with every non-roman member of the polycule. no one can quantify exactly what, but it is Something. roman covers his ears and goes "LALALALA" when anyone brings this up.

roman AND janus both have an official Boyfriend Leaderboard. they are both permanently at the top of each others leaderboards because "mutually assured destruction". somehow, this causes very few problems.

remy has had a Thing with all of them. all of them really want to ask abt adding him to the polycule, but none of them know abt remys Things with the others so they dont know if its appropriate yet. remy knows and finds this fucking hilarious.

I talk about Virgil a lot so here are some random (some AU specific, some not, NOT ALL IN THE SAME AU) headcanons I have for Remus with mediocre elaboration:

— low empathy autistic. Has to be taught some empathy. I don't mean he's a danger, I just mean it doesn't initially occur to him that something might hurt someone emotionally. Also this usually comes with more of an explanation but I ✨don't remember the entire explanation✨

— he/they/it/various neos. I just think they'd vibe with it. I don't think he'd totally rock with she/her but y'all know headcanons are individual and I very much love seeing she/her and transfem Remus too <33

— tics. Sometimes they're worse than other times. Usually in a human au. Not with any specific disorder in mind when thought of

— this one is less mine and more my one friend's but Imma include it anyway: they wrote about him in one AU having a schizophrenia disorder. I don't remember the specifics but some of it was Remus seeing and hearing people/things that aren't there, which caused him and a lot of other people distress, and it furthered their "this is why people look at him odd but really he's not odd" agenda. He thought he was broken. Nope turns out his brain's just a bit different. Cue "ohhhhhh"

— y'know 80s/90s punk aesthetic? Yeah. Also thrifts like a bitch like they're out there all the time.

— walking calculator and can do a truly abhorrent level of math in his head. But cannot for the life of them do English. Like what the fuck is a semi colon. Ain't that the thing in your body?

— marine biologist or a mortician for his job I CANNOT decide.

— has horror movies as comfort movies <3 like "okay I'm sleeping now hmmm I'll put on the original Halloween" and then dozes off to it

— has facial hair other than the mustache. Removes the facial hair other than the mustache

— truly the most monstrous mullet you have ever seen except it's somehow hot. Like against all odds it's hot on it.

— writes down its worst intrusive thoughts in a notebook and when the notebook is full, burns it. That way it's an almost symbolic way of "FUCK these ideas"

— cusses just so goddamn much

— in some few AUs (I have to specify); smoker. Started as a teenage rebellion habit and now it's kicking their ass.

— tooth gap. I fucking love tooth gap.

— the grey streak isn't dye actually it's a birth mark. Roman has a similar one but he dyes it (neither brother is bothered by this)

— has fake blood splattered on several pairs of shoes just because it can and they think it looks cool

— reaaaaaally tries to pretend they don't care about Roman (highschool specific au) but also shows up for all of his theater shows and is always giving a standing ovation every time and has cried at a few performances (but definitely not no because they're too cool 😎.. *sobs*)

I feel like this is too many but ya get my vibes for him? :D I hope. I love them. They're so cool. It's just. AAAA

Virgil Tyler - 29 - they/it/she

she wears a mask for fashion but also to hide its face in public (there’s no pandemic in this au). they love sanrio, especially hello kitty, kuromi, and my melody. also loves invader zim, which it watches with remus a lot. purple is love, purple is life. extremely into scene music, especially 6barelyhuman, black veil brides, sleeping with sirens, and avril lavigne

Janus Young - 32 - they/he

remus’s caregiver and bestie <3 they kin rainbow dash and pikachu. he loves doing makeup and they’re always down to do his friends’ makeup if they ask. collects all things mlp and pokemon. also furbys

Remus Mordecai - 31 - as many pronouns as you can fit in one sentence

talks the least out of the group as he is semi verbal! and when she regresses xe’s nonverbal. it’s special interest is homestuck and fox is a nepeta kinnie. also kit basically always has a pacifier in zir mouth, even in public. ey live with janus, who they may have a slight codependent relationship with (or whatever you’d call the kind of relationship where one person is wayyyyyy more reliant than the other? remus is very attached to and reliant on janus)

Danny Fenton was such a weak ass protagonist,he was all quips and 'boys will be boys' with the occasional drama llama that happened like twice a season for 8 minutes meanwhile:

Percy Jackson was an autistic kid who felt worthless at 12 already and became suicidal at 16 but was also a bully beater and took direct action against the gods and did activism in the greco-roman myths world by helping out the less privileged sectors of it and is STILL an anarchist in current canon like in the 1st book

Zak Saturday was a black softboy on a show about cryptids and his love interest was a muslim girl that was potrayed as just minor puppy love instead of cosmic soulmates

Kim Possible was a perfect prep but also a girls girl instead of a pick me and a legit superhero even with all the silliness in her plots

Juniper Lee was a brownskin half chinese girl who was as cool and dorky as white male protagonists with her usual character beats do instead of a stereotype

Virgil Hawkins was deadass the FIRST EVER BLACK SUPERHERO CARTOON PROTAGONIST and such a sweet gentle boy but still had major attitude and they didn't soften up african-american experiences at all

Alex from Totally Spies was the baby of her same age team instead of the mom and wasn't masculanized at all and had just as much depth as the other girls

Ichigo Kurosaki was a goth punk traumatized teenage boy of color who actually acted like one instead of just an edgy douchebag and was obsessed with Orihime for being a pastel autistic kindhearted weirdgirl and treated her like the princess she is 24/7 and said fuck the Soul Society's cop ass over and over again and STUCK BY IT

Aang was a tibetan who's show adressed the cleansing the irl ones go through in it's TITLE ALONE and he was potrayed as a ray of hope for his optimism and gender noncormity instead of ridiculed for them and wasn't a fence sitter like wack ass westernizers in the fandom think he is because literally the only reason he didn't Ozai is that homeboy was not only a buddhist but THE LAST SURVIVING IN-UNIVERSE ONE

And you expect to me to care about Danny's boring deadass.Hell Jake Long is just him but not white and with real character development and lore and that's why i'll never fw Danny,boys of color and girls and especially girls of color and actual outcasts did what he did but infinity times better and i don't celebrate his mediocrity because they gave me standards.Danny Phantom was never a good show,he was just 14 and you haven't shut the fuck up since
