RISE OF THE TMNT: HOMECOMING - STEP-BY-STEP INSTALL GUIDE - UPDATED!

Like promised, I've retraced my steps and the post here is a full guide on how to download and play TMNT homecoming for Android device.

Here below I've compiled a series of steps and useful links in case you might need to play the game:

(Edit: The guide's updated now:)

Step 0: First things first...

First thing first, you'll need an Android device to download and play this game.

UPDATE! - The game now also works on Bluestack!

Second thing you'll need (unless you know chinese) is a picture Translator app.

I've used translation apps that take pictures of the screen and translate it to english and followed the instructions to set up my username and password.

Step 1: Downloading the APK

Unless you live in China, or you can get the game legit in some way I don't know, APK downloading sites might help. However, be careful, for some may be scam sites. Use a VPN to help block unwanted visitors.

I've used this site here to download the APK for the game and seems pretty legit (based on bitdefender, the apk is safe) compared to others I've tried. While the picture is from the beta version in 2022, the update is the most recent from 2023.

If you have another apk downloading site you'd prefer to try download the apk from, try looking up for TMNT Homecoming (it will not show as Rise or ROTTMNT despite being the same characters)...

Or if that fails too, try searching for 忍者龟: 归来 apk if you can't find it in english.

STEP 2: Installation

Once you download the game, install it on your device. Phone might ask for permission due to being considered an unknown APK from an outside source.

STEP 3: Username and Password

If everything has gone smoothly, then it's time for the username and password.

A window will show with MUZHI written on it. Here, you must write your username (top) and your password (bottom). -ps: ignore the writing below. It was my bad 😅-

You shouldn't have any issues with this step as it accepts western keyboard characters.

Just remember to write the ID and PW down somewhere so you won't forget them. Or take a snapshot of it before proceeding.

UPDATE! - It seems there are issues with the western keyboards and won't accept them anymore. So, if this step doesn't work, click the button that says: Quick Registration (the button in red) and proceed to step 4!

Step 4: THE DREADED

A new window opens

It requires that you put a name (top) and ID number (below) in order to play the game.

To bypass this, this helped me:

You can pick any of the codes shown (I used the very first one and it worked like a charm).

Let's use this for example: As you can see, there is a series on numbers first, and chinese characters at the end.

Careful with this step as the name goes on the top bar, and should be only chinese characters.

Like this: 刘剑丽

The ID is only numbers, and they go in the bar below.

Like this: 220283198306236235

It must be like this:

STEP 5: Selecting A Game Name

If you've reached this point, and if you're able to play the game at long last, then CONGRATS! You've made it! But it's not over just quite yet.

The game, eventually, requires that you add a GAME NAME. It can be anything you want it to be, but MIND YOU! THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT!

IT WILL NOT ACCEPT Western Keyboard characters. Only chinese characters!

This is, however, much, much easier to bypass than step 4. Here, you have 2 options:

Option 1: If you want your very own original game name to play, you can go to google translate and simply write down and translate it to chinese.

Example:

Just copy the chinese characters and paste them in the bar. Then proceed.

Option 2: If you don't care about what name you use to play, just generate a complete random name by pressing the dice button right next to the name bar. The game will insta-generate a completely random name for you to use.

STEP 6: Have fun!

If you followed each step of the way without too much hassle and managed to get through the apocalypse that is bypassing this, then CONGRATS! YOU'VE FINALLY MADE IT!

I'm so, so proud of you! Now you're free to play this Rise of the tmnt game as much as you want! Keep your translator close just in case, and have plenty of fun with the features this game offers.

TMNT 2003 Fic Recs

These are mostly going to be hurt/comfort, with a lot of Don fics.

Homecoming by Technodawn

Donnie is kidnapped by someone and held captive for four years.

Posted on fanfiction.net, this fic is brilliant! One of those fanfics that I read entirely one sitting because I couldn't stop. Lots of brotherly moments and the time Don is held captive is emotional and visceral. This whole fic is so grounded and well thought out.

Turning the Blade by Pebr

All of the brothers start experiencing the same intense nightmares and all need to come together to face those fears. Only Leo spirals from these nightmares and falls further from his brothers.

Not for the faint of heart with its vivid descriptions and gore. Fantastic exploration of the characters and Leo in particular. A super creative idea with a unique threat. The exhaustion and injuries make the fic feel real and intense.

Blood-Stained Tiles by RealityBreakGirl

Donnie panics after having to stitch up his father.

I'd recommend anything by RealityBreakGirl in all honesty but this fic has a special place in my heart. It's so sweet and explores the idea of Donnie as the team medic and the pressure that puts him under.

The Gauntlant by T33la

Donnie has been working on a gauntlant that can negate gravity- but it's highly experimental and glitchy. But soon Mikey and Donnie have to bet their lives on this tech.

Again, would recommend you read through everything T33la has ever written, this fic in particular is my favourite. Reads as an episode of the show. The characters are so vibrant and in-character. Some fantastic action and character moments that won't leave my head.

Find the Road by SillySocks

A series of oneshots exploring how everyone is dealing after Leo is sent to the Ancient One.

Such a great exploration of family and what these characters mean to each other. Kind of blows my mind that this idea isn't in a bunch of fanfics. A slow almost grieving look after Leo leaves as everyone finds a new normal and tries to keep going as well.

It Takes a Village by GreenGoddessSmoothie

April is stressed out to the max with dealing with her baby. Thankfully Donnie and Leo come to the rescue.

You won't find a better April hurt/comfort fic. It's so sweet and an amazing fic which explores how these three all see each other. It's one of those fics which is great to read while trying to sleep, very fluffy and a great read.

Can You Break What You Can't See? by lunaless

Donnie struggling after the mind probe.

One of my favourite post-mind probe fics. The struggle Donnie facing to keep his mind in tact and also everyone struggling to get out of the ship is great! It feels intense and the growing realisation that Donnie isn't okay makes for a great read!

The Afterward by halogalopaghost

Donnie after his secondary mutation slowly recovering and being nursed back to health. The cure didn't work instantly and everyone is on edge trying to coax him back to health.

Yes. YES! A great fanfic with a lot of medical speculation and the helplessness of watching a family member fall sick. Leatherhead's exhaustion, everyone's desperation. A fantastic read! Also please check out halogalopaghost, another fantastic fic writer that I could recommend every single work they've done.

Midnight Comforts by mattyj

Raph comforting Don after he had a nightmare about SAINW.

OH! If you want a great character based conversation which completes destroys my heart, you'll find it here. Such a sweet fluffy fanfiction. A fantastic look into Don and Raph's relationship. A must read if you're a sucker for that dynamic.

Matchmaker Matchmaker (Make Me a Match) by LilliputianDuckling

Donnie is in love with Usagi but mistakes that interest in seeing how great Usagi would be in a relationship and so setting him up with Leo.

Okay I usually avoid shipping stuff since it doesn't really interest me but this was so cute and put an interesting spin on Donnie and Usagi. A great little read and the moment when Raph realises what's actually going on is great. The fic that makes me prefer Don x Usagi rather than Leo.

Note

What’s your opinion on white washing and black washing? I personally think they’re just awful. Not only does it involve replacing an already existing character with a completely new one that just has the name slapped on top, but it’s so lazy. You’d think us mixed and black people would be more offended, but for some reason so many seem to think it’s great representation.

Tiana is Disney’s most popular black princess, and she and her prince were frogs for most of the movie. Cinderella works hard like Tiana and the moment she gets a prince? She lives the high life. Tiana? Gotta stay in that ghetto struggle.

Tinker bell? They already have a black one. Her name is Iridessa and they should’ve given the girl her own movie if they wanted to do more representation.

That new tmnt movie? They made April O’Neil a fat, ugly, black woman. That other tv show of it isn’t any better for it; she’s not ugly but she’s certainly not April. Some people even try to lie and say that April was always originally black but that was disproved by the creators.

Even the new spiderverse movie coming out has done it. They took a white pregnant spider woman (already a bad idea) and made her black for whatever reason.

I’ve noticed that they seem to be especially replacing red head/ginger characters with black people.

The only movie I can think up of off the top of my head that did this properly is Spiderman homecoming. Mary Jane Watson, a white ginger, becomes Michelle Jones Watson, a mixed woman. They didn’t try to say that this was the same Mary Jane that everyone is used to.

I’ve definitely missed a bunch more but these are just the few I can think of.

I’m not saying people shouldn’t be creative with already existing mediums, I would just like it if movie studios respected the source material more.

I totally agree with you. It’s unnecessary and it’s lazy to race swap established beloved characters just to get woke points. And it’s worse that they’re getting them, too. People should be holding them to higher standards.

We don’t need remakes just so you can change the look of classic characters we all know and love for shallow political reasons. Give us original content and use whatever race you want to tell the story.

And in my opinion it’s kind of insulting to the people they’re trying to please, too. Like “look we made this character not white this time around! Aren’t you so proud of us? Aren’t we heroes?” It’s pathetic.

And I don’t know why it’s always the redheads they’re swapping either but there’s definitely something going on there.

It’s clear there is no respect for the original stories and they have to be “fixed” because they’re not “progressive” enough.

I don’t even spend time watching things that aren’t original stories because every time they do something just to race swap the whole movie/show sucks.

I guess my turn to weigh in on the new trailer. To be honest, all the promo art released up until now made me think this move was going to be hella fugly. Now that we actually get to see the designs in action, I have to say it’s still kinda ugly, but there’s charm to it that I’m digging. It’s soft and comfortable, but also grungy and sloppy. I like it. And I also think this is an excellent trailer. I like the music in this, I like the scenes they gave us. I like the whole feel of it.

Playing up on the roof, I felt this as someone who goofed around outside and did dumb shit with my siblings. The scene with the sai in the thigh, I felt this too. Like which brother has to go prepare Splinter (put together a lie about what they were doing) for the bad news before they drag Donnie in?

Currently I am not liking Donatello’s voice. He sounds like he’s five. Unless they’re going to do a joke where his voice suddenly drops somewhere in this movie, it’s an odd casting choice that he sounds like an entirely different age range than the other three brothers. Maybe he’s supposed to be the youngest in this iteration? I don’t know. If the voice casting makes sense when we see the movie, I can accept it. No real judgements until then.

The animation is clearly very much inspired by Into The Spiderverse, but I can also see it trying to have its own look while taking from talent that came before them. It often feels like this movie really wants to capture the magic of Into the Spiderverse and the live action Spiderman Homecoming. But hopefully it will still remember that it is a TMNT movie, not a Marvel movie.

All in all, I’m feeling good about this movie and I’m really looking forward to it.

Oh, and I got a text from my mom that my little cousin actually worked on this movie? I knew she was in animation, but this is the first I’ve heard about any projects she’s worked on. Not sure exactly what she did in it, but maybe I will be able to find her name in the credits when it comes out.

ICE CREAM KITTY COSPLAY HOODIE: MY PROCESS

heading to a convention this weekend and wanted to do a cosplay, but instead of buying another tmnt hoodie like homecoming I wanted to do something a little more…creative.

Whoever drew this, I apologize for reposting your art without permission but also thank you for inspiring me!

Why wait for someone to make a ice cream kitty themed hoodie when I can just make my own hehe! Using the (poorly made) concept image above, my plan is to find a pink cat hoodie (accidentally got the wrong color but I got the right order back for $25 extra ;-;). Hasn’t opened it yet but I’ll post more tomorrow!

grew up in a household with six siblings. her parents worked long and hard hours to put them all through school and give them the best life they possibly could. but, that didn't come without sacrifice. they weren't present for most of their childhood due to working to feed the family and give them the life they didn't have as children. kaziya was the middle daughter and always sought heavily after her parents approval. she was extremely clever and her intelligence got her far in school. she ended up getting accepted into a nyu for finance and computer science. she excelled and that's were she learned about the darker side of finance.

during her college years that kaziya encountered the darker side of the financial world. exposure to the cutthroat nature of wall street and the allure of wealth at any cost planted the seeds of her involvement in white-collar crime. the knowledge gained from her studies, coupled with her growing network, set the stage for her ascent into the intricate world of manhattan's organized crime.

after graduating she began to work with the boss of a group called the burning gods.. they found her skills in hacking, networking, and overall ability to make plans on the fly helped her gain rank quickly. the boss took favor in her. she proved herself quickly a major asset to the group and rose up to be the underboss in under three years.

so it was no surprise after a hit was put on the current boss that kaziya was going to take over the burning gods.

and she did so with pride. while she liked the way the previous boss worked she knew she needed more. she needed to make this something bigger and better. and she was the one to do it.

kaziya currently works undercover at stoneage as a cfo. she got that position to her degree and her great networking skills. the woman new anyone and everyone of importance in manhattan.

even though she came from humble beginnings kaziya now lives a very high luxery lifestyle. she may be a kind face but dont let her fool you. she's the boss for a reason and she plans to keep her life the exact way it is now.

I don't think I can actually contain my excitement for the new Mutant Mayhem movie!!! What are you most looking forward to/anticipating and hoping for?

anon i’m right there with you pal, hahah.

more under the cut cos i went a little insane lol

and oh boy SO much. it’s funny because i am a no trailer kind of person. i don’t mind teasers but on a general note i tend to avoid trailers only because most of the time they’re very spoilery. but i broke my own rule mostly because i have no impulse control and was very very happy when it decided to not show me the entire plot of the movie in 2 minutes or less.

i really REALLY love that it’s not a krang/shredder movie. don’t get me wrong: love those guys, i think they’re great “main” villains but it gets a little tiresome of seeing them on the big screen most of the time.

it feels really reminiscent of spider man homecoming in the sense that, we didn’t need the entire movie to spell out peter’s origins. we already KNOW he’s been bitten by a spider, we already KNOW about ben and about responsibility and blah blah blah. and having homecoming be a little ways into his new life, having him takedown smaller, street level villains felt super refreshing and so much more down to earth and so much more like spider man, and that’s the feeling i get with this new tmnt movie.

we don’t need them going to space taking down aliens or making mortal enemies right away, we need them saving shitty parts of the city from purple dragons, making home for all the stray mutants. if feels so much more.. homely? in a way? it feels grounded and im really happy to finally see that in a tmnt movie.

(we can save shredder or krang for a sequel lol)

I LOVE that it doesn’t seem to be focused on just one of the brothers. unfortunately over time tmnt seems to boil itself down to “this is the plot and then we have leo/raph conflict, then we have the peak, and then leo/raph conflict resolves and they finally work as a team and save the world”

and again, i do enjoy some brotherly angst from time to time but it really gets tiresome after a while, especially when you’re watching donnie and mikey get shafted into essentially background support cast lol.

brothers fight and argue and i don’t doubt that we’ll see that in the movie, maybe driving somewhat of a wedge between them before their big moment but as long as it isn’t the resounding conflict of the movie i’ll be happy. i want name calling and hair pulling but don’t make the entire movie just leo vs raph match. they’re each others best friends at the end of the day.

i’m hoping for a little more of mikey and donnie. again like i said in my last point, they’re always pretty under-utilised. mikey always falls into the comic relief cycle and donnie is just. there until someone needs him to pick a lock or defuse a bomb lol. notice in the trailer when mikey asked what they would do if they weren’t monsters (coming back to that in a moment) we never actually hear what it is mike and don want. whether it was just for the gag of donnie’s sarcastic response to leo’s answer or whether it was intentional, i have full faith in seth rogan ever since he put out the characters sheets about mikey wanting to be taken more seriously AND the fact that it was mikey looking longingly out of the sewer towards the city. he might make me cry in this movie. he might make me cry.

i want to be HURT. yes mikey is my very first blorbo so naturally i treat him like a personal punching bag. mike sees himself as a monster, no doubt the others do too, but throughout the lifespan of the tmnt franchise, mikey’s always the one that wants to be part of the “normal” world, making human friends, wanting to be accepted. yeah we got that in bayverse 2 but if we get a repeat of the scene where the police officers that were surrounding them with guns calls them monsters to their faces and mikey starts tearing up… i might not make it. look for me on the isle floor underneath the fold up cinema seats cos i’ll be there, weeping like a damn baby. i want this movie to be fun and im okay with it if it isn’t more angst heavy but the tmnt fandom are pretty used to the pain by now, it’s almost expected lmao.

things im hoping for: a casey hint. hand on heart i don’t think he’ll be here for this movie, and unless he’s referred to at the end then im hoping we get a Easter egg at least, a la yoshi at the end of the super mario bros movie. show me a hockey mask and i will go bananas.

woody dirkins. i will honestly do so many unlawful things for a woody cameo AT LEAST. woody is one of my favourite side characters…. i want Woody. i might protest this who is with me.

no multiverse shit. i don’t mind tongue in cheek references, i think that’s cute and it’s fine and hey. if we get a 2003 reference or joke i might just combust because it’ll be nice if SOMEBODY in the Nick studios remembered those guys. but i’m so happy with this being a standalone movie. no crossovers no sky splitting open no big blue beam going to destroy the city. i want this bubble of a world to exist on its own, mostly because the multiverse trope is everywhere at the moment, so it would just be really cool not to have it again lol

OH. ideas for a sequel despite not even having seen the first one ???? here is one:

the rat king. again, we don’t have to go full main mega villain yet but 2012 rat king was UNREAL and genuinely one of my favourite villains of all time. it wouldn’t have to be beat for beat the same as that particular episode but i quite enjoy it when they give Splinter stuff to do.

overall i think i’m gonna be pleased with this movie. i genuinely am not fussed about many things, if it’s gots the turtles, i’m gonna be happy, trust me.

i’m also looking forward to the soundtrack. we’ve only had one song so far but i just know it’s gonna be very fun, 90s hip hop, my kinda thing.

a lot of love seems to have been poured into this project and it doesn’t feel like a cash grab or toy selling front in any shape or form. the tmnt fandom has pretty much been bobbing about in waves of content for years, some good some bad, some left in the mud. we haven’t gotten a real movie since 2016, back when i was in college making essays on the franchise itself, and now here we are seven years later and i’m just as hyped as i knew i would have been if I’d known this movie was coming out back then.

i cant wait for this movie, to feel it’s love through the screen from the writers and the cast, and it’s just so exciting. be prepared because as soon as my little mushroom brain goes and watches that movie, i’m making it my entire personality for perhaps forever. i won’t even be sorry lol

I remember watching some Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles stuff when I was a kid but it is VERY DIFFICULT to find out which ones because they’re all named the same.

Ohh wow I’m making a TMNT movie/tv series how about I call it TMNT so original. Like I understand there has to be some way for people to recognise the IP but cmon. Spider-Man movies have the word spider man in all their titles, but we know which ones are which because they expand on it (like Spider-Man: into across the amazing far from homecoming ect.). Same with Batman and Xmen.

They’ve started doing it a little recently with rise of the teenage mutant ninja turtles and mutant mayhem, but it feels like too little too late.
