I'm sorry if this sounds weird but I just can't get my mind wrapped around the fact that you're 42 bc my mom is 45 😭 so close in age yet so different (thats what i thought) so it's like a woahhh fact not in a derogatory way but in a cool way bc my mom doesnt like jjk neither heard of it ???!! and then I realized that my mom is also cool. she still has her white boygroups she likes to listen to, and she has this obsession over old cdramas. ur post reminded me again. she's just like me (I'm 19 btw) and every other girl full of her own interests. I feel like I personally forgot abt it. maybe I robbed her of who she was b4 she was the person I called mom and maybe that's how I subconsciously see middle aged women as mature mothers instead of women with their own interests. well I js wanted to apologize bc I realized I was subconsciously thinking that it's unusual, even weird (lq cool tho bc "how do yk jjk😭" im so sorry for even thinking that) to see anyone past 30 in fandoms but ur post reminded me of my mother and her as a person (a bit off topic but uh). it reminded me how especially women and girls are told to grow up and mature faster and take care of everything and be the nurturing person that I forgot even with kids or without kids an older person still has their own interest, why wouldn't they!? so that's why i kinda resonated it with my mommy 😔 I love her why wouldn't she be allowed to do stuff that makes her happy??? just bc she's "old"???

Thank you for writing this and sending it to me, because you made a lot of really great points! It makes me happy that you used my little rant to do some self-reflection and realize that yeah- your mom is totally allowed to like things that aren't her kids, or her job, or things to do with her household. I don't think you robbed her of anything, and I'm sure she would tell you that if you asked her! Sure, there are certain things I don't do anymore since having children, but those things no longer served a purpose in my life anyway (I'm thinking more along the lines of the things I did when I was your age and a little older).

You don't have to apologize for your thoughts! I think in some ways it's very natural to think the way that you do at nineteen, and there isn't necessarily anything wrong with it! I certainly didn't have the wisdom at that age that I do now. And you're also right about that unspoken expectation of women to grow up and mature, and be caretakers and mothers and nuturers and how we are supposed to out our own interests aside for the sake of taking care of our families. It's an old-fashioned ideal, yes, but it's still a very real viewpoint, even in the year 2023.

So yes. Ask your mom about her favorite music or her cdramas and watch her face light up with glee. I bet she'll start gushing about her favorite song or the actor she likes the best.

grocery shopping headcanons w/ the miya twins and suna

a/n: i lq like going grocery shopping so i literally died at the domesticity in this request ☹️☹️

never in a million years would you go grocery shopping with the twins bc you wanted to

you, unfortunately, had to learn that the hard way

at first, you thought they would actually be good help (which they are) as long as you overlook the fact that they will sneak every single unnecessary item into your cart

most of the time, they’ll only go with you if they want to get something

i hope you’re not balling on a budget cause it will add up if the twins are with you

sure, they promised to pay you back someday

keyword: someday

osamu would probably be the most helpful over his brother

he’ll probably be the one who even bothered to make a grocery list to make sure you get everything you need

meanwhile, atsumu would surely help you lift any large objects (even if you don’t need the help)

i.e flexing that he can carry a big bag of rice no problem

“nah, nah–” atsumu shoos you away, smugness coating his expression, “i got this.”

you’d roll your eyes and let him do whatever

as long as he’s helping ✋🏻😔

on the bright side, he is willing to run to the other side of the store for you if you had forgotten something

though, you do feel bad for anyone he manages to bump into in the time being

tbh,, he probably doesn’t even want to be there

he’ll still help, sure, but trust suna to mindlessly push the cart behind you

as long as he doesn’t get distracted and doesn’t go on his own adventure around the grocery store, he has a pretty keen eye for any specific items you’re looking for

with his height, he’s constantly having to reach for items you’re too short to get or simply just too lazy to reach

he will freak the fuck out if you leave him in the checkout line to grab one last-minute item

mans will literally leave the queue if you’re not back by the time he’s next

“you can go right ahead,” he says to the person behind him

and he will keep doing that as long as he’s not in front without you again

you’d come back and find him at the end of a very long line

suna doesn’t care if he has to stand there waiting for another 15 minutes as long as you’re here with him

although it might look like he hates doing such mundane things with you such as grocery shopping, he loves your company either way

you’re enough to keep him from getting bored regardless

for as much as i love gorou... im not entirely sure how i feel about the new layout and icon hm... not sure if i wanna go back to albedo or what though, but really don't want to change my desktop theme so i wanna stick to this color scheme as much as possible. just never been happy with the mobile layout on here so far,,,

have really been in a diluc mood ever since i got him recently, and red wouldn't go back with the current neutrals but.. im just not sure atm 🤔

Edit: i think the new navi is fine but my icon looks so crunchy for some reason... it looks so lq and not as nice and round as usual either... :((

they seem to look fine here though, damn... 😔

desktop theme reigns supreme, mobile absolutely hates me and im just gonna have to live with it. rip </3

Do you ever look through Tumblr to see what other people post or do you only care about your posts? You don't seem to reblog any posts. I'm curious because sometimes you post things that other people have already posted.

i do look through my dashboard and like things. i reblog in my other side blogs and only post my own here because it’s more convenient for me that way. looks neater, and easier for me to track my own posts.

i used to reblog here but then i got stressed out cause it kinda got messy. so i started using side blogs to reblog things... so far i have 3, for spurs, for ted lasso, for mcu, and i’m planning to make one more🥲

ummm i usually check if it has passed my dashboard or not. (i hope it’s okay even if i do make my own🥺) but well, sometimes i gif things people already made, just because i like making gifs, put my own filter and everything🥺 ...even tho they’re more lq🤡
