Luckily for you, you’re used to his quirks by now, and thus know how to handle them even when they're angered. However, before your gloss-coated lips can even part properly to voice a witty retort, he tugs you off the dance floor with a prominent click of his jaw.
The muscle just underneath his sharp cheekbone flutters with irritation at the yelp you let out in response to the force he uses; disturbing the otherwise faux, shiver-inducing calm he portrays on the norm. It’s like a ripple in water: gone as quickly as it shows up.
Looking up at his side profile again, you wonder how such a hot-headed person can possibly wear an expression this icy, however he gives you no time to dwell on it much further. After all, the thought sizzles into nothing as soon as his hand moves from tug to shove.
Your tongue feels awfully hefty from the booze coursing your veins when you attempt to say his name, “Kat-”
“Keep walkin’,” is all he grits out with that gruff voice that makes your heart rage with absolute adoration as he places his palm right onto the small of your back. His touch makes your very insides squirm from delight. He’s rarely this affectionate in public.
“Katsuki, please,” you giggle out, attempting to stop in your tracks.
“I thought I’ve told ya to keep walkin’, y/n,” he grunts, pushing you forward again. He's clearly in no mood for your jokes.
That same calloused palm rests on the curve of your ass, now; thick fingers digging into your dress with evident possessiveness and urging you to do as he says as your aggravated boyfriend leads you out of the stuffy building. He promptly ignores Kaminari’s protests of a lost dance partner, and you wonder if it might just be because he doesn’t trust himself enough to not punch the honey right off of that sweet face of his.
Denki doesn’t seem to mind whatever he’s provoked, though. You catch his wink as he waves at you before his sniggering gradually fades away into the rhythmic, thundering beat of bass and melody that once again overtakes your sense of hearing with every step you take. You can still feel its buzz inside your very core; even as Bakugou tugs you out the heavy double door of the building with a firm nod to the bouncer.
By the time he waves for a cab, you’re clinging onto him like a little bimbo; shivering in your high heels and yearning for his body heat, despite that you’ve just spent the last three hours completely disregarding him by having fun with Kaminari instead.
Christ, just the memory of you nearly grinding against that dunce makes Bakugou want to blow up the entire building to fucking smithereens. He’s supposed to be a hero - a pro one, at that - and yet he can’t bring himself to care if the people inside that godforsaken club burned to fucking ash from how furious he is with you in that exact moment.
Katsuki doesn’t say anything when you whine his name into the cool evening air, testing and provoking his already thin line of patience. In fact, he doesn’t seem to be paying you any heed whatsoever when the cab arrives either. No, he just shoves you into the backseat; that big, rough hand of his landing to clutch your thigh as soon as he follows into the vehicle right after.
His grip is tenacious. He’s holding you so harshly that crescent markings of his nails are beginning to bite into the plush fat of your leg. You swear that you can feel sparks and heat emitting from the tips of his fingers whenever his thumb strokes the inside of your thigh. Swear that you can feel it burning your skin.
The fever you start to feel from somewhere deep inside you makes you want to rub your legs together. A small grunt leaves your lips at the barrier his hand provides, albeit it seems to land on deaf ears, because Katsuki doesn’t even acknowledge the sound of need. He just stares straight ahead; giving the driver directions that’ll lead you to your final destination with a voice so bland that it makes your brow quirk in fascination.
It seems that you’re spending the night at his place.
And it seems that your guesses were correct, because as soon as the cab pulls in front of his driveway; he’s tugging you out of the car without as much as a stiff goodbye to your driver. The way he holds your hand is greedy; scarred digits entwine with your own more delicate ones, making them burn with heat as you stumble along and attempt to catch step with him.
“Kat, baby,” you try again, “slow down, please. I can’t-”
“Quiet,” is all he says, the single word honed like the most parlous blade before he adds, “you danced in those fuckin’ heels just fine while dry humping Kaminari like a goddamn bitch in heat, so I'm assuming you can walk just as good with me, too.”

The stern tone he uses with you is enough to clamp your lips shut like a good girl. Come to think of it, it’s the least you can do. If you look at the situation through his perspective, you’ve been nothing but naughty the entire night.

why i think serial designation n is bisexual 🩷💜💙
i made a thread about uzi being bisexual and i thought of doing n as well (since he seems bi coded too). i posted the thread on twitter (ivzura) so i will post it here as well. the points is the same from the uzi post (bi lighting and attraction) which you can read it from here, but i will repeat on this post and again, i am bisexual myself and it’s my thoughts and perspectives. it will be short since we only have 6 ep rn

same knife dance scene, colorful and flashy, but the moment they had their personal talk, it stopped to a specific color (pink, purple, and blue). when n throwed uzi, the colors went back to being colorful and flashy. it would’ve continued to being flashy and colorful during their personal moment but it didn’t, it stopped and it stop to only 3 colors, the green wasn’t there until n throwed uzi
again with sentinels, their eyes are blue/white and it would’ve flashed to those colors when they flashed on nuzi, but instead pink,purple and blue appeared. those colors usually appears when nuzi are together and how the first one flashing to the audience would’ve been like that on nuzi, but didn’t

i received biphobic replies on twitter from my uzi tweet which is very upsetting to see ppl not understanding about the attraction part when i explained on it. ppl still bringing up “uzi doesn’t show attraction to any women” and “uzi have no good relationship with women so therefore she can’t be bi.” uzi doesn’t have to show attraction to the same gender. not every bi characters have too (either same, opposite or other gender). also, no good relationship with any gender ≠ no attraction, we can have bad experiences with any gender and still be attracted to them. uzi have bad experiences with both men AND women until n, thad and v (warmed up to her) came along.

For me, RWBY filled the void left behind by Avatar: The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra.
It’s one of the few shows I’ve seen (aside from Adventure Time) that grows up with its audience.
The fight scenes are so incredible! They’re lightening fast I would have to rewatch the same episode at least twice or thrice! Easily rivaling those done by Studios Gainax or TRIGGER, or Titmouse.
Since every character, place, and object have connections to fairy tales, mythologies, folklore, and classic novels, it did a great job portraying them to their root inspirations. Plus, I’m always digging deep into their designs and backstories.
The music is almost top tier to the music from the Disney Renaissance Era. Maybe even better than that. The songs add another layer of foreshadowing for the characters, and they’re fun to listen to~!
It tackles issues like self-worth, abuse, and death.
The series basically screams “Women’s Rights” and “Gay Rights” and proud of it. :D

I've always enjoyed the characters, and I like how there are 4 badass female protagonists who are each enjoyable to watch. I also like how the villains are actually threatening, so the heroes have to put effort into earning victories unlike many works of fiction. The animation always excites me, because you never know what you're going to get. And, don't even get me started on the amazing soundtrack.

it tickles all the right things about me. i got in trouble for reading in classes when i finished my work early at school, it was nearly always history or mythology. i was an ancient Egypt kid. i read outside my age group. if Snapple wanted to employ me to write factoids for their caps i would take it. i was hooked on RWBY immediately despite being older than any of the main characters. i found an unlikely character to relate to in Jaune. i loved how it balanced serious and goofy themes.

Some stuff I like about the show is that it's pretty fun and entertaining to watch, has constantly improving writing and animation(the CRWBY recognizing ACTUAL criticism, and working on those), with smarter and deeper than some may think moments, well-done characters, great music and songs, and probably more. I even cosplayed as Jaune(and the 'HuntsMan' with a Wonder-Zwei plush)with my then-girlfriend before COVID hit and other stuff happened, and enjoyed doing that.

one thing that i particularly like about rwby is that the characters aren't dumbasses. i feel like so often in shows i watch there's an episode conflict where the characters make an obviously terrible plan that will clearly backfire horribly just for the sake of the episode plot and it's always painful to watch, so it's really nice to watch a show where that doesn't happen.

Rwby was a show I found in college that I wasn’t sure I was going to enjoy, but as I watched it- I found myself completely enthralled in the world created by Monty Oum and his friends. It’s story has me on the edge of my seat every episode, and it’s anime vibes make it a treat to watch. It’s not perfect, I will admit that- and there have been times where I didn’t agree with a direction of story telling at first. However there hasn’t been a show that gets me as excited as RWBY does since I was a kid.
If you grew up watching anime, or grew up watching anime- I’d give RWBY a go. If you are still not over the Owl House/ She-Ra/ ATLA/ LOK/ Naruto/ or any other amazing series with crazy fights and an amazing story: I recommend Rwby as your next obsession.
And if you want to give anime a try, but are still dipping your toes into the medium- Rwby is a good half way point for newcomers.

For the same reasons above, I’m also in love with the complex motivations behind the antagonists. Mercury hated the world and needed an enabler, Emerald needed security, Cinder snapped after a lifetime of abuse (just like Mercury), Hazel wanted revenge, Lionhart wanted to save himself, Raven wanted to save herself, Tyrian is just insane (based), Watts wanted petty revenge, Neo wanted revenge but doesn’t know what to do afterwards, CC wants to fulfill their cruel purpose, and Salem just wants to finally die. Torchwick was a comical villain who posed a dangerous threat, the Malachite sisters were doing their jobs, Ironwood was a victim of his own paranoia, Cardin was just racist, Cordovin worships her superiors, the Fennec brothers too, Adam wanted total control over everything and everyone in his life and would stop at nothing to get it, Ilia believed in a cause, Tock was following orders, it’s all so varied and exciting!!

I honestly fell in love with this project immediately back when the red trailer was first introduced to me.
Though the animation for RWBY was simple and understandably a lot of people regard it as not the best. Even V1 and the original 4 trailers had a living soul to me and there was a certain charm to the characters and the animation.
What kept me coming back is I find myself being unable to predict where the show will go and it honestly keeps me drawn in that my thoughts and predictions are completely circumvented. The show doesn’t follow the trajectory of really any other media and Monty navigated it masterfully.
There’s so many relatable characters and the situations they are put in are approached not perfectly but in a human way as to be a human (even if you have copious amounts of power) means you’ll definitely trip up.
But simply put I’ve loved this project since the beginning with the 4 trailers and could write a dissertation on why I love this show and include a long list of different things I love ranging from OST to characters to design animation. But maybe a talk for another day

For me, RWBY is a change of pace.
It allows for women to be shown as independent characters, just as smart and strong as male ones.
It doesn’t use fanservice , you don’t have internal monologuing during fight scenes, you don’t have people screaming random attack names, and the music and designs are great.
I appreciate the humor, its not toilet humor or degrading humor like a lot of anime.
It also tackles difficult themes like abuse, leadership, morality, and debate.
It also takes the white male savior trope so common in the fanfics that people use to promote their OCs, and takes a giant dump on that garbage. If anything, when people say “the fanfics are better than the show” you’ll see them promoting a white male savior trope above all else.
Finally? Its a pro-LGBT show on many aspects, which amusingly infuriates a lot of straight shippers who defend their straight white male character who they put on a pedestal.

Agreed to the above, as well as being able to enjoy a story that centers women in a way that doesn’t reduce them to simplistic tropes or fanservice. I’ve been looking for more female-centered material over the last several years, and stumbling upon RWBY turned out to be a real joy in that regard. Across the board, you have so many compelling female characters, heroes and villains alike. Not to mention two main characters being explicitly in a queer romance is a delight and a relief.

the characters are a very strong point of this show. they're well fleshed out
(even many secondary characters including villains and despite the big cast!)
and they get the opportunity to develop and evolve

The music was what first made me get interested in RWBY. The hard hitting rock that also carried quite a bit of meaning into it if you truly took a moment to listen to the lyrics.
So, from there I watched V1 at a friend's house and felt it was good. It did a good job with the action scenes, and setting things up for the characters.
Volume 2, however, is where I truly fell in love with the show. The appearance of Cinder, of Ironwood, the food fight, the investigation into Torchwick and the White Fang, the dance and hacking sequence! Everything pointed to something more going on. Something hidden waiting to spring forth!
V1 was a great entry point, V2 convinced me to stay and hooked me, and when I finally marathoned V3 I was EAGER to watch V4 and onward. Any and all quibbles I may have had melted away when the Fall of Beacon happened.
So, long story short, I love the story. I love how things are built up and come back further down the line (Jaune's issues, Ruby's issues, etc.). I love how the characters do go through a lot and need help getting back up. I love how sincere and earnest everything is without a hint of irony.
I love the slow burn relationships, and that the show doesn't end with those relationships just being established. I love that, despite everything, this one little indie show has continued going past everything that's happened in a decade since it started. I love that the story is engaging, the characters are deep, the writing is great, and that I'm even feeling bad for the villains which I don't normally do.
RWBY may not be the most perfect thing ever, but frankly I love that the writers do see and incorporate feedback into their work. I love that, unlike how Halo or Star Wars do things, you don't necessarily need to have read all the side content to understand things too.
Most of all is I love how this show has improved on every level: animation, writing, voice acting, etc. It's just so refreshing. It's the Little Engine that Could continuing onward and getting better as it goes.
And hey, being a Bumbleby shipper since V3 and being vindicated in V9? Cherry on the sundae. It's been a wild ride, and I'd love it to continue.

Rwby is, in a word, earnest. Its characters are unashamedly sincere, affectionate and vulnerable and the show understands not only that these things are not a weakness but that there can be no greater measure of strength. i started watching when vol. 1 was still going, with a fansub (!) working hell and back to translate each episode as they came out. i remember waiting every week to see a new episode, and when the last episodes came, i was entirely invested in this sci-fi fantasy series with fairytale elements and wanted to know what would happen next.
and, for me, it's an endearing series that i enjoy watching, even with its flaws. it's fun, but it also has a heart. i like how it didn't shy away from telling a broader story. vol. 3's gut-wrenching finale was for me what made me realize i was not there just for the amazing fights and cool soundtrack, but for the characters and how they live in this crazy world. it was amazing to watch its worldbuilding evolve to such great lengths and see the characters i like to grow and learn and evolve along with it. they are done well and don't feel misplaced in the narrative. it just flows nicely and i guess the latest volume proved that to me (the themes, the motifs, the characters' choices, and the visuals) everything comes together, y'know?
and i just... like it. i like rwby. i really do.

look, the ad on the tin was cute girls doing violent things and looking great while doing it. that was the impetus for me to follow the show, i was there when it started with the famous red trailer to yellow trailer.
the writing then wasn't bad, a bit condensed because, y'know, shoestring budget so everything was very tight time wise. but y'know, you didn't watch the four trailers and get sold on the story- which was good by the by, but it wasn't exceptional. it was by the numbers, hitting what they need to hit, but good. you didn't think it was spectacular.
but then volume 3 hits you out of nowhere, and you realize, oh, the writing is phenomenal actually.
rwby has deceptively good writing that on the surface is good par for the course that lulls you into complacency, and then manages to sideswipe you with incredible twists that you don't see, but on looking back, the seeds for the twist were planted from book 1 on. the world is slowly and meticulously rolled out to the viewer, the characters shine, and the action, while still spectacular, become secondary to the characters and the world.
i started watching rwby, expecting cute girls doing violent things. and they deliver on that, and if you come watch rwby just for that, it delivers that. i didn't come in for hearty world building, intrigue, and lore so deep you can get lost in it. the writers write on a razor's edge, giving enough lore for a backdrop and setting the stage, but if you decide to dig at any trail, you can get lost in it. the concept of dust, the name of the world itself- frankly i think it's a masterclass in giving enough to keep the story going but having enough in the back that every new twist that they lay out can be found to have grown from a seed that was planted in an earlier volume.
i dunno who traded their soul away to keep track of all that world building and lore, but that excel sheet must be something to behold. rwby throws u-turns that you don't expect at you, lulls you with a sense of 'okay, i see your tricks now' and somehow manages to turn you around again, and have it make sense.
frankly, it's a little frustrating, i've been bamboozled and led by the nose.
and i love it for that. i'm delighted by the ride i'm on, and i hope the show keeps going.

Even with everything, I can't bring myself to stop watching RWBY. I got back into it after talking with some friends in highschool, and I've been doing my best to keep up with it since. I have love for the characters (Weiss is the best), and I do feel a sence of amazement that a western project like this ha s grown so much. Not to mention the amount of art, comics, manga, and fanfics that have spawned from the show.
Do I have problems with RWBY? Yes. I will probably never stop ranting about something the show does to tick me off. But I do the same for Star Vs and Kamen Rider Zero One, both shows I still hold a love for. Hell, I might do the same for Amphibia and Owl House down the line if I do a re watch.
So yeah, still love RWBY and I want to be around to see how this story ends.

So, I was in high school and I was watching Red VS Blue. Then I started watching Rage Quit. Then Achievement Hunter. Play Pals.
Then my sister and my high school crush were like, hey, try out RWBY. I mocked them by saying "It should be Ar-Dubyoo-Bee-Why". Then I got into it and, well, I liked it the more I got into it until I was caught up to Volume 2. Then Death Battle had the Yang VS Tifa fight (PLEASE, NO REMATCH), and I was rooting for Yang. Then I saw Volume 3, and I was shocked, dismayed, and devastated at the sudden heel turn. I've been hooked ever since.
So, to answer your questions.
I watch RWBY because it's fun, and I want to know where the story goes. I loved the fun had at Beacon, and I want to know what happens next.
The appeal comes from the desire to see these group of friends fight to save the world from the Grimm. I want to see them thrive against a world where everything is stacked against them! And I want to see them flying kick someone in the face to the sound of the most amazing butt-rock since Crush 40 Sonic (No offense MGR)!
So, yeah, I love watching RWBY because it's a story to be told. And I'm going to openly sob when the story finally comes to an end.

Its endearing, the lack of amazing animation in vol 1-3 is made up for in how much love was put into it. I love RWBY for a ton of reasons but to keep it short:
• The Facial Expressions of the characters match really well with the tones of each scene
• Amazing character designs that can just tell you so much about them before you get to know them
•The animation: RWBY imo is best 3D animated series, most of the time 3D animes tend to be stiff and lifeless

• The Protagonist Ruby Rose is a breath of fresh air similar to say Deku from BNHA where both know the world isn't exactly kind but still try to help the best they can; even if it results in them destroying themselves to get there as their series's goes on
•The Villains are all pretty realistic in their motivations being not afraid to fall victim to arrogance while simultaneously being victims of either the world's actions or their own
°The show doesn't swindle you into thinking that just cuz they have sympathetic backgrounds that they're immediately good
They have to work for it and atone for misdeeds such as Ilia,Emerald and Hazel or doesn't believe their actions are unwarranted like Salem and Cinder or has a lack of empathy for the world around them like Mercury or Tyrian or Wants to do the right thing but lets the ends justify their means(Ironwood) or Living only on the fear of your actions(Lionheart) or The world has dealt so much injustice to you that you felt giving it by ten thousand fold would remedy it ( Ilia and Adam)

I think RWBY was first suggested to be me on the grounds of “lots of really cool fights” which, while not ultimately the point of the show is still a big plus! Monty was an absolute wizard when it came to fight choreography and CRWBY has done a fantastic job keeping up that legacy. Ofc that was only the thing that got me to look at the show in the first place - what made me stay was the incredibly well done character-driven story. Following along and exploring the arcs of all the different characters in the show helped me through tough times and shaped a lot of who I am as a person today - Blake and Weiss’ stories in particular did so much in helping me find hope that I could grow as a person because that what the show is: hope. So uh yeah, if you like deep, interwoven character narratives that don’t shy away from growth, change, or the ugliness that sometimes crops up along the way with those things, definitely give RWBY a watch

Tbh, I don't know, there's something about it that I can't explain, I started watching it in 2018, but somehow it's one of my top 3 Favorite animated shows, it can be because of the story or maybe the background, like the people behind it and everything they've done and how far they've come
For example, Monty; first he made the Haloid animation, then he became director of animation in Red vs Blue, and then he created this masterpiece that will be a big part of me
The animation itself is one of the best things about the show, I mean looking back at the style of background in V1 and more recent volumes, saying it has improved would be an understatement, I mean just look at it, you can see how much effort the've done for it
Another reason is the development or the characters, they've changed and matured in many ways. (Speaking of, I really hope Ruby comes back different but keeping at least some of her previous self)

I’m generally a fan of animation, and it’s been neat seeing how it’s improved since volume 3 (when I got into it). The story intrigues me, and I love the wide cast of characters and their development. The alternate universe is a neat one, Grimm are fascinating as a take on Evil Creatures to me, and the designs have always been cool, bar a few that never flew with me (Blake’s 1-3 outfit just kind of always looked a lil too sexy for my tastes on a “huntress” and I initially thought Nora’s 4-6 look was a downgrade before it grew on me)
I really enjoyed Ironwood’s slide from well-intentioned, if incorrect, hero to villain. Honestly his foreshadowing in volumes 2, 3, and 4 was some of the best I’ve ever seen. Maswartz above has commented on how they fool you by having him take facistic actions against people we hate more to hide how far he’s falling fast until we actually GET to Atlas and Mantle and realize it’s gone full Police State (if it wasn’t before). Genius.
I also adored Penny, she was my baby, she was amazing as a character and I’m so happy we got her back for a few more volumes before losing her for good (as much as anyone is ever truly gone, of course, she still looms large over vol 9). As one of the “weird girls” of the world who took a long time to come into my comfort with being a girl due to teasing and bullying (autism, baby. they always know) Penny just always SPOKE to me. I’m glad she not only proved her Real Girl bonafides as a Maiden but even got to live outside a metal body for a few episodes before her death, finally feeling the warmth of a hug.

It's a genuinely fun and enjoyable show that can mix multiple genres together without it being jarring. There's action and comedy, there's horror, there's mystery and drama, and it all makes sense for what's happening. It has a layered and complex plot where things almost always turn out to be more nuanced than they first seem, and almost every twist/big event is subtly foreshadowed in some way. The shorter length of episodes compared to other shows also makes it really fun to binge watch.

Of course it has its flaws like every other piece of media, but I genuinely find RWBY both entertaining and just a good show in general. I love the "AHA!" moments when you something is revealed that has been hinted at for volumes. I love the music and could listen to it for hours. I love the characters; their designs, their motivations, their relationships with each other and their character arcs that span the show. In regards to the protagonists, I also enjoy how they all seem so human. The writers allow them to make mistakes and fail. They aren't always the perfect heroes. And in regards to the villains, they are believable too. Nearly every one of them has some kind of motivation that drives them to want revenge in destruction. I love the plot, despite its flaws. It's complex and ties in with countless allusions. And lastly, I love the fanbase. Not the toxic side, honestly it makes me sad that a show like RWBY needs positivity posts because its hate fanbase is just so large. But there are so many in the community who are incredibly creative and create hilarious memes, beautiful art, and amazing stories, and I'm grateful to be a part of that.

RWBY is a special show to me. I’ve been with the series since it premiered at the end of RvB Season 10, and ten years is not an inconsiderable amount of time to be a fan of something. And unlike the “critics” or RWDE, I don’t stick around to hate-watch because of the sunken cost fallacy, or “to learn what not to do.” Or just for a reason to complain, more accurately. I simply enjoy the series. I have since it began, and I still do, and I’ll continue to do so.
While I don’t like everything about the show, or agree with all the creative choices; I don’t automatically assume that something I don’t like is wrong or bad. I happily take RWBY for what it is, and not what I think it should be. I, by no means am blind to the flaws and missteps, but none of them hinder my enjoyment to the degree that I feel like the show overall is a negative experience, even at its lowest points.
I watch the show because I like it. It has been a consistent source of enjoyment for me, and even now. I’ve enjoyed growing alongside it from an indie web-series into what it is today and seeing how it’s changed and improved with every volume.
I enjoy and am invested in many of the characters. I like the world and the bits of world-build and lore we get throughout the main show and supplementary material. And of course I can’t not touch on the fights and character designs. Its vibrant and narrative-relevant use of color, and how that’s effected the shows aesthetic development. And Monty Oum’s classic high-speed, frenetic and intricate choreo, that’s yet to be replicated. And how while different the post-Monty fights are still interesting and engaging for the most part.
I love the depictions of friendship and platonic/familial connection in the show, most prominently for me personally, Ruby & Jaune’s bond. As it’s so rare for a male-female friendship to be purely platonic and still be so genuinely well-written and integral to both characters. Although, I think RWBY is largely hit or miss with the way it handles romance, I think its friendships & familial bonds are where it excels.
Ruby, Yang, and Jaune are my top three favorites characters in RWBY, and how their characters and arcs have been so endearing and intriguing to watch. Especially as since V7, and what is being done with them current.

The biggest thing for why I love RWBY so much it is "oh that makes sense!" when something unexpected happens BECAUSE everything was set up previously that would result in this eventually, and none of it feels forced.
At the same time, its gleeful deconstruction of common shonen anime tropes adds to that sense of surprise. Subconsciously, one goes in expecting certain things to happen, but it defies that expectation in a way that feels like a natural consequence.
There's so much more, but I can't even start to unpack just exactly why I love this series so much.

Castlevania Theory: Tera’s Fate
Okay this is total crack but it’s stuck in my head and I just wanted to share it somewhere.
Spoilers for Castlevania: Nocturne ahead so be warned.
So… we all know Tera sacrificed herself and got turned by Erzebet. We also know she’s an absolute snack and even the official character artist acknowledges it.

Fans have already begun to speculate over how her vampirized form will look.

Who does that remind you of?
(Lilith as she appears in Castlevania: Grimoire of Souls)
The famous game enemy Lilith!
Is it possible that Tera will draw from Lilith in her new design and personality? I think it’s possible because of two strong thematic reasons.
Lilith as Temptress and Abductor
Lilith in biblical mythology was the first wife of Adam who refused to be beneath him. For her defiance, she was condemned as a demon. She is often framed as a temptress of men and a stealer of children. So often is she associated with snatching kids, in fact, that the etymology for the word “lullaby” is often credited to Lilith’s name.
Being the woman who “tempted” a holy man to sin and then “stole” his child (actually kept her safe from him, but you know), this would fit the lore very well.
2. Lilith as Mother
Lilith in the games is famous for tempting Alucard with his mommy issues, and now every single one of our main heroes have lost their mothers tragically. It would make sense for Tera—who mothered Maria, raised Richter as her own, offered that same motherly comfort to Annette, and who resembles Lisa (Alucard’s mom)—to fill that same niche as Lilith. A figure of temptation and lust but whom also plays on longing for the safety of mother.
I also think it’s possible because in the games, Annette can become a succubus similar to Lilith. But since Annette has been reinvented, and is definitely not Maria’s sister anymore like in one odd continuity, who is now a perfect family member to turn? Tera!

If Tera does end up becoming the Lilith of this show, what of Maria? How will she take it?
I think it would be pretty interesting, considering Maria’s eventual relationship (however they choose to portray it, platonic or otherwise) with Alucard, I could see her taking this tragedy as a defining moment.
He is Alucard, son of Dracula.
She is a Lilin (Lilm), daughter of Lilith.

Perhaps if not for the cruel arm at your wrist, you may have known since then. But with the title of "girlfriend" weighing heavy on your reputation as the perfect Kook you portrayed yourself to be, you couldn't deny the curiosities that looked just beyond your behaved existence. "Did he finally get tired of you complaining about how badly you want me?" JJ asked upon leaning over your shoulder at the annual bonfire as you took a moment to compose yourself. The only way to keep JJ at arm's length was to be cruel. Luckily, he made it easy to retort against him.
"Maybe how badly I want to be away from you..." You shot back as you scrunched your nose before turning back to your drink as you looked forward to the ocean. Completely unaware of how his eyes took you in from your ignorance. Every inch carved to perfection as far as he was concerned.
"Well tough luck, princess. It's so much more fun torturing you...I think it might just be my calling in life…"
"And you do it so well..."
"Maybe if you stop fighting your feelings and just give in to me, you wouldn't be so uptight...I could work all those little kinks-" He was close enough to feel the light mess of his hair to your cheek, your eyes fluttering at his closing proximity.
The thoughts that accumulated through a growth of maturity in the form of inappropriate conjurings were tempting to make a reality. He was close enough that you only had to turn and would no longer need to fantasize alone. And yet you were not alone that such an action would go by unnoticed.
The sudden slinking of an arm directing you away from JJ would be the silent saving grace you needed. Even if it would pull you into a more emotionally destructive situation.
It began as it always had with him nursing the bottle too heavily. The disposal of one would bring two others until he stumbled beyond the ability to stand up straight. This made you into the unintentional designated guardian to somehow who never seemed to know better.
"You're so pretty when you're quiet. You talk too much..." He said into your cheek as you tried to push him into the passenger side of the car, his body weight threatening to flatten you as he was nearly double your size. By some grace, you succeeded before his car stalled. No matter how many times you twisted the keys or hit against the steering wheel, it didn't seem to spark life into the failing engine.
"Need help, darling?" A teasing tone called from the side of your car as JJ happened to be present.
"I could fix it for you in no time..." You were desperate for the night to end for a multitude of reasons. For that, you would agree to his help, but damned to show the excitement his presence brought to your heart-and in the flutter between your thighs.
"You haven't let me touch you all night..." Your boyfriend reminded as his hands were quick between your thighs. Unbeknownst to you, JJ had been aware of the exchange, his hands turning to fists.
"Wanna pop the hood there, princess?" He reminded as you pushed away from the drunkard on your shoulder before realizing you never needed to.
JJ opened the door, slipped himself inside, before leaning close enough to be brazen and seduce you with a graze of his fingers once he set the hood to ascension and moved to work beneath the hood.
"You're my girlfriend..."
"You're drunk-" his hand forced yours to his pants, a half hard bulge making the moment anything but desirable.
"Fucking act like it…"
If not for the fact JJ was nearby, then for the fact your stomach twisted to the entire exchange. A common occurrence the longer you were with him. Always wanting someone else. Always wanting-
"JJ!" You gasped as he appeared at your side, your hand quickly moving back to your own lap.
And yet the analysis he gave you of the car had sounded synonymous to a new language, a few words recognized.
Engine. Had been the only one you could recall.
"I can give you a ride...but I'm not taking him..."
"I can't just leave him here..." To that, his phone illuminated.
"I'm waiting for you like you asked. But you already have my panties..." The photo of your best friend holding herself into the mirror you knew to wear a reflection of trying on Midsummers dresses the day before left your heart to twist. But not because of the loss of a truly heartless boyfriend, but for the embarrassment this would bring to you.
"Actually, yeah...I'd love a ride..."
"You're going with him? You can't leave me..."
"But Scarlett is waiting for you..." You shot back, throwing his phone back in his lap as he reached for you, toppling into the seat.
"You're nothing but a fucking tease-bitch!" He called out as his words were cold to your already fragile heart as you followed behind JJ. A borrowed truck acted as your carriage for the night as he left the beach.
"You're a guest, don't touch my stereo if you know what's good for ya, sweetheart..." He threatened as your eyes narrowed to the heavy music that left your head throbbing. But as you turned your gaze to the window, hiding the tears left by the heartache of the night, he would eventually turn the music down.
"You know...of all Kook Princesses you are the most...tolerable..." He explained with a grin reaching to showcase his dimples. Your eyes fell to his lips, tempting to reach across the car and connect them with your own.
"Scarlett isn't worth it..."
"You're only saying that because she rejected you..." You shot, hoping to keep him at arms length and away from acting on your desires. It seemed to work as he returned the music high and brought you home without another word.
By the time you made it into the driveway, the distance between the passenger door and your front door was scarcely visible from the new rain. A quick and heavy storm that rattled shutters and shook trees as you jumped to the lightning.
"You afraid of a little thunder or just realized the world doesn't revolve around you enough to keep you from getting wet?" He teased as your usual means of responding with sarcasm or aggravation faltered in contrast to your anxiety. You loathed the chaos of storms like this, knowing how cruel nature could be as it took everything in its path.
"Can you come in?" His eyes widened in shock.
"Just until the storm stops?"
Another rumble of thunder after a lengthy pause made you gasp.
"You don't even have to talk to me or anything..."
"A promise that you'll be quiet? How can I resist?" Before you could retract, he was on his feet and moving to your side of the car. You fumbled to retrieve your keys as you wanted to be prepared, moving past his chivalry and into the house with only a few drops dampening you.
"You truly are a princess..." He explained while looking at your photographs of former pageants.
"First place? Must not have been a beauty pageant then..." You tried to ignore him but the storm continued outside.
"What are you doing?" He asked as he watched you journey to the bathroom.
"Showering..."
"You can't...you could get electrocuted..."
"I've done it before."
"Might explain why you're a few brain cells shy-" your eyes narrowed to him.
"What the hell is your problem, JJ? What have I ever done to you?"
"Since you're a Kook I would say, well, existing..."
"And you think being a pogue makes you superior?"
"I think I know what it's like to work for something."
"Stealing isn't working."
"I've never stolen anything on the Northside...I work honestly..."
"Then why do you keep getting fired?" You managed to silence him. The victory in this leading your arms to cross at your chest.
"Run out of lies?" He was turned slightly away from you, seemingly running on low steam as he turned to face you. But he didn't stop as he directed his focus to you. He kept moving at you until you were pinned at the wall. His hand at your shorts and beneath the brass button with his fingers at your clothed clit, set almost as a threat.
"Ah..." You gasped.
"You stopped going there. You stopped doing brunch at The Island Inn so I got fired. You stopped playing golf so I stopped being a caddy. Because I want to have to look at me..." He brought your hand to his seam just as your boyfriend had done. Only when you felt him, you were electrified with what that present swelling could offer you. Whereas you were borderline disgusted when thinking of anyone else but him.
"I know you know what to do, don't be a fucking tease." He used your boyfriend's words against you as it made you motivated to prove him wrong. It was irritating and endorsing in unison as you began to stroke him over his trunks.
"No. With what I've had to put up with...I deserve you on your fucking knees...." A grip to your hair and you were guided downwards.
"All those remarks from that smart little mouth...now you're gonna make it up to me by letting me fuck it..." But he then moved away at the moment your hands rose to his hips. You couldn't explain the magnetism to him. There were plenty of handsome guys in the Outer Banks. And yet, there was only one who brought you to your knees. "Crawl, princess. Queens stand and you're too much of a fucking brat for a title like that..." You had watched him sit on the couch directly across from where he left you. And even as he looked at you with such arrogance, you were eager to please him. To prove him wrong.

"Matter of fact...strip. I want you to do it in only your bikini." You rose up to your knees and reached for your crocheted top.

He scoffed. "That's because I was kissing the wrong set of lips to make you behave." He was between your legs before you could respond, your suit simply pulled to the side as his tongue ravaged you. Your fingers twisted his already messy locks into further disarray as he rose between breaths.
"Dirty fucking princess..." He spoke beneath sultry eyes that rose long enough to watch your mouth part in disbelief.
"Need someone to shut you up for once..."
"You-" He set two fingers to plummet inside of you, your words ceased as he pumped just long enough to saturate his digits. Once they were to his linking, he brought them into your mouth.
"If you didn't taste so sweet, you'd be over that arm with an ass redder than your cheeks right now..." He offered a single slow lick, looking at you from beneath his lashes.
"Pathetic." He spit between your lower lips, making your eyes roll as he set to his own pace. He tietired you as you weren't able to find solace in any context. As he neared you to that edge, you were pulled back just as quickly.

initial thoughts after finishing the first three episodes of the atla netflix adaptation bc I have thoughts in my brain (contrains spoiler)
first, things I really liked and appreciated so far:
KYOSHI BC HOLY SHIT
the cgi looks GOOD, the animals actually look like they belong in this world
the bending looks insane (it actually has impact other than.. yk)
combat choreography and costume design is also a 10/10
idk a lot about score but I like what I hear lol
story progression is also interesting, of course they had to combine 2-3 episodes worth of information to fit their format and I feel like they put a lot of thought into that (it's more of a 50/50 tho)
starting the show with the air normad genocide was cruel but it really set the mood (I may have cried over that one aang and gyatso scene)
the actors actually look like the kids they are portraying
got nothing to complain about zuko, iroh, suki, zhao, etc.
I actually think that they portrayed zuko very well with him being very grumpy and goal driven but also has his awkward moments
I still have hope that they bring out irohs personality more
next, the bad and the ugly oof:
line delivery and interaction between the main characters feel a little stiff and awkward (might get better idk but where is the chemistry??)
I'm sorry but they sucked the life out of katara. If I didn't know the original character, I would find her really boring?? No hate to the actress tho, the lines she was given are just not it imo she did what she could with what she had
NO relationship building between katara and aang?? (they basically cut every important scene of their relationship out? like her being the one who breaks aang out of the ice, her being the first person he sees, her being the one calming him down after he goes into avatar mode at the southern air temple and probably more that I missed) > kind of makes me think that they're actually gonna go for zutara and idk what to feel (we all saw that scarf scene)
still don't know how to feel about them introducing azula, ty lee and mai so early? why introduce them so early when you already have to cut so much from the original to fit the 8 episode format? (their actresses slayed tho)
pacing lacks now and again and makes the flow a bit awkward (probably bc of how compressed it is)
I feel like the adaptation relies on the knowledge of their viewers who know the original a lot, especially when it comes to the main characters bc if this was my first introduction to atla I wouldn't feel connected to any of these characters YET
mind you, I still have 5 more episodes to watch so maybe this will turn around idk
I'd give it a 6,5/10 SO FAR but only bc I'm SO attached to the original so therefore I'm probably not as open minded as someone who hasn't watched the show 17 times
the original is a near perfect show and I think everyone knew, that there was nothing that the adaptation could do much better but you can still tell, that the people behind the scenes have a real passion for the original so I still appreciate everything that turns out better than the movie that shall not be named

It’s Audio Drama Sunday and this week was full of bangers! This list is not comprehensive but it is what stuck out this week. Let’s goooooooo
🔥 The Heart Pyre continuously leaves me with the perfect impression of being in middle school reading under my desk. It’s so good it feels like I’m getting away with something. Maybe it’s because Rena is such a relatable protagonist. She’s just a normal girl! She’s just a little teen! What is she supposed to do! And that makes her even more heroic. As always, the choice this week was impossible and I can’t wait to see how it shakes out. Also, Logan And Finn Should Kiss 2k24. @theheartpyre
🗡️ SIDEQUESTING 😭 This episode is so SWEET. I love when Rion grows a little—Sidequesting is episodic and doesn’t lend itself to like, substantial character development. That is fine; it’s not the point of the show. It makes the moments Rion does grow, though, stand out like little jewels. This episode shone. @sidequestingpod
🗝️ Palimpsest is doing its slow burn thing, referencing itself over again as its name suggests it will do, and in this story, I am Very Concerned About That Man Lenore Married. He is condescending and dismissive and he is isolating her, and I DO NOT TRUST HIM.
📼 Within the Wires—oh my gosh, I literally screamed when the canned noises stopped. What is your game, Tony? What do you want with Brian?
🅿️ Podcube was short this week—Podcube is always short—but this episode had me cracking up at work. I love that this team manages to find new conflicts somehow. Man vs man, but they’re assassins and one of them is convinced the other is in love with the target. Why does this work? Why is this so funny? Please listen to Podcube. @podcube
🩸 Hemophobia continues to make my skin crawl. This episode reveals that the characters are Church of Christ, which, for those who don’t know, means they have a really specific set of beliefs about baptism that I KNOW are going to be perfect fodder for the Horrors. And yet it’s all so normal so far. Creepy. Oh, another thing this episode does is portray with perfect gut-wrenching clarity how strange and awful it us to be a devout teenager, and in like, four different ways. Incredible work.
🎣 Eeler’s Choice has some FANTASTIC sound design this episode as Ran comes into their own as a storm chanter—FRICK. I am worried about them. And their new ship. Please be careful and don’t get eaten by fungus. @eelerschoice
✨ Stories from Ylelmore is brand new and SO GOOD, oh my gosh, I am in love with the earnest delivery, the characters who are absolute BABIES, the genuine fascinating mystery. I can’t wait for more. @storiesfromylelmore
🍔 Midnight Burger’s THREE HOUR FINALE brought us home with Clementine. It wasn’t what I expected, and I think that’s kind of Midnight Burger’s MO. The fact that the tone of the dialogue, that the characters themselves, are so cynical and hard—it will trick you into believing that it’s a cynical show. Maybe it is! But it also fights over and over again for the idea that things can be fixed, that love matters, that you can save people and you have to try, you always have to try. And sometimes you win. And that’s how the universe is meant to work. It kills me every time. Also, shoutout to Alan Burgon, always the best, who I love to hear doing his actual accent. @midnightburgr
🐦⬛ Leaving Corvat. Oh my word. It’s a wellness cult. Sleeper’s in a wellness cult. I am really pleased with the development his character’s showing, being decisive and brave.
🍵 Gastronaut is going some places and I am OBSESSED. The relationship between Oscar and Polity is everything to me, and the fact that Oscar has gotten to the point where he refuses to ignore his responsibilities, he refuses to leave people behind—he is sometimes stupid, but he is trying and I’m proud of him.
🧟♂️ We are getting to the final episode of Precious Cargo in the Dead and y’all….it’s gonna get juicy. I’m not exaggerating, one of the zombie actors used watermelon to get things sounding juuuuust right. Our next story might be even better, too, I can’t wait to show you.

Ugh I am so uncomfortable right now
I have a sinus infection and I haven’t been sleeping well the past couple of nights, so I’m tired, but no matter how hard I try, I cannot seem to fall asleep
But I’m also too tired to do anything else, so I’m just stuck in this state of absolute boredom
So I just binged a bunch of anime today
Finished Dungeon Meshi and loved it. Absolute banger of a show. And so many attractive character designs. Laios? Kabru?? Daya??? The other female dwarf???? That evil elf twink????? The female orc??????
All it needs is a super femme, super bitchy queen bee type character, and it will have satisfied ALL of my types
Also Falin and Marcille are so yuri coded, love that friends to lovers schoolgirl energy
I also watched the first episode of that omegaverse anime. It was p good. I was confused why they decided to make alpha/omega relationships the taboo one, since typically that is the most common one. Because they wanted the characters to face adversity without directly including homophobia, I suppose?
Then why not make them an alpha/alpha or omega/omega pair?? That’s something I haven’t seen before, and it would better align with the whole metaphorical homophobia thing!
I mean, I know why they didn’t, but idk. It would have been more interesting in my opinion.
Additionally, I had a hard time focusing on the anime due to the way they portrayed the child, Hikari. They said he was 1 going on 2, so as someone who works with that age group, I couldn’t help but notice every time Hikari wasn’t acting his age.
I won’t bore anyone with details, but basically, his gross motor movement is pretty behind for a boy who is almost 2. Meanwhile, his cognitive and emotional development is quite advanced for that age group. His ability to speak in nearly full sentences is not entirely out of the realm of possibility (I’ve taught 1 year olds with advanced vocabularies before) but his ability to still access his vocabulary during moments of emotional distress is less convincing.
I wish it was that easy to communicate with toddlers in the midst of an emotional meltdown. It would make teaching so much easier.
However, I did think it was a cute touch that after being compared to a star, Hikari spent the rest of the day pointing out every star he saw and calling it his own name. And I appreciate that they didn’t bother showing us the 20 more times he did the same exact thing the following two weeks.
Toddlers will 100% become obsessed with a tiny detail they overhear, and talk about it almost exclusively for weeks afterwards.
So be careful about what you say around toddlers. You never know what they will internalize and repeat like a broken record for the next 14 days straight.
Anyway, that’s basically my day in a nutshell.
I’m tired of watching anime, so if anyone wants to ramble about something to me to keep me entertained while I ride out this sinus infection, please do so.

What a season finale?!!!
It was a great episode, probably one of the best of the season for me but damn, i hate cliffhangers! Especially when there's a strike going on and you have no idea when the next season will air!
But it is what is… The only thing we can do now is pray for the strike to be over as soon as possible.

So lets talk about Spock and Chapel (and a little bit about Pike&Batel)
!SPOILER WARNING!

The episode starts with Batel and Chapel helping the colonists. We learn that Chapel left the Enterprise early to start her Fellowship with Dr. Korby and Cayuga is basically her ride.
Can i just say that i love how SNW portrays their female characters? Batel and Chapel are 2 women who are really good at their jobs, love helping people, ambitious, strong, beautiful and charming!
The episode made a clear parallel between 2 relationships: Spock&Chapel and Pike&Batel.
At the beginning of the episode Batel and Chapel’s fates were unknown, both Spock and Pike were worried about losing the women that they love, but refused to give up hope and they were both ready to do whatever it takes to save them.
Both couples reunite at some point in the episode. Pike&Batel’s hug is lovely and sweet. Spock&Chapel holding each other’s hands in space is a beautiful and almost poetic moment. That scene was designed to look visually stunning and it did!

If we quickly remember the status of both relationships:
Batel had a bumpy relationship with Pike at first, she even walked out on him bcoz just like Chapel, Pike had issues maintaining a serious relationship. But unlike Spock&Chapel, Pike&Batel fixed their problems bcoz Pike noticed his errors, they talked, they understood each other and made up!
Spock and Chapel still haven’t done that and we have to wait for season 3 to see them properly communicate again. But there’s still HOPE for them.

“Hope” is one of the main themes of the episode. We have seen different characters talk about “hope” and use it as a motivation to keep fighting.
Una to Spock:
“I would never tell you not to hope.”
Pike to La’an:

Hope is the thing that keeps him going. And i think, one of the reasons why he insisted he should be the one doing the space mission is bcoz he really believed that it might help save Christine’s life (and others').

The zero gravity Gorn fight was amazing. Spock and Chapel defeating the Gorn together was so satisfying to me!
After that, they move towards each other and have an “almost” space hug. Beautiful! And then they slowly fly up together. The filming of the whole scene is breathtaking. Feels like a space dance in EV suits. As a big piece of Cayuga falls down, they reach for each other’s hands at the same time and hold so tight! Aww. The music, the scene… You get the sense that there’s HOPE. Against Gorn but also for Spock and Chapel too.
They energize still holding hands. Chapel seems pretty shook and Spock intensely watches her. He must be feeling so many things at once in that moment.
The way Spock loves Chapel is too pure. He would do anything for her. ANYTHING. Vulcan emotions are stronger than human emotions. That’s why they suppress them. And what happens when they choose not to suppress them? Take a look at Spock! Ethan Peck has been doing an amazing job portraying a half Vulcan-half Human in love. But perhaps his feelings for Chapel can not even be described with the word love.
I have no words for what I feel.

Anyway, before they go Spock stops her. He wants to apologize but she doesn't let him. She tells him that they'll have time later. She smiles at him, eyes shining, holding his arm… Spock recognizes that look and that smile. Its Christine. His Christine. And he smiles back. There’s HOPE.

Look guys, I don’t know if they’ll break up or decide to try again. All i know is, Spock and Chapel love each other. Despite their differences, despite Boimler’s “you’re doomed” BS, despite Chapel’s struggle with relationships&deep trauma, despite Spock’s struggle with human emotions… They LOVE each other. Feelings are there and not going anywhere.
Star Trek loves “on again - off again” relationships. So i predict Spapel be the new on/off relationship that will last for as long as the show goes on.

Sometimes I think of how people will see the most shallow bit of feminism and girl power in media and then treat it like the height of progressiveness and act like that piece of media is now incapable of being misogynistic.
Like I don't actually have a problem with some of the obvious girl power stuff - things like girls standing up to people who say they can't fight, or girls being confronted by guys who are like rating the attractiveness of them and their friends, or 'you should smile more' stuff, or things like that. Every time I see someone post about how 'we should be past that' and how 'everyone gets it' I also see both women expressing how it helped them and also terrible men talking about how they think it's overdramatic and lying and anti-men, so like... Yeah, we do still need some of this kind of obvious girl power, no we haven't actually progressed past men out and out saying they think women belong in the kitchen or should serve men or something, it actually is totally realistic and empowering to many real life women to see a female character openly stand up for herself and show up men and stuff.
But also that sort of on the nose shallow level stuff is often used in a very performative way, and there's often deeper levels of misogyny at play that writers usually don't seem to bother to deconstruct. And the willingness to only pay attention to shallow level stuff and call that good enough is in my opinion actually detrimental, especially when that's then used to try to shut up the women that are rightfully trying to criticize deeper misogyny.
A female character standing up to a male character that says girls can't fight might be and often is still not given a narrative outside of a love interest.
A female character being the main protagonist might still be shuffled to the side to give more attention to a male character, or not be allowed to be really flawed and therefore less of a real relatable character.
A confident and feisty female character might still be objectified and made specifically for male audiences to sexualize, designed to be sexy for men or just written in a way that's meant to be palatable for them (such as stripping femininity from a female character who is involved in action.)
A female character in a position of power might still be treated like a jealous power hungry bitch or a sad cat lady who secretly longs for a husband and babies, or be 'in a position of power' in name only and not actually be that big of a threat, or do nothing, or be propped up as the important bad guy only for the media to reveal that really, she's nothing compared to this new eleventh hour male threat.
A female character who stands up to one male character might still be written to wind up in a relationship with a male character that treats her like crap and acts entitled to her and yet it's still framed as romantic, or will be pressured into a romantic relationship with no one acknowledging it as weird or bad, or just is written to never really challenge her male friends.
A female character might be allowed to be non-feminine and dismiss beauty standards but she might then be portrayed as having no female friends and being not like other girls and meanwhile women who are more traditionally feminine are put down and men who aren't traditionally masculine are mocked and treated like they're weak and lesser. A female character might be allowed to be non-feminine and dismiss beauty standards, but she might be confined to not going over a certain line, like a female character who is portrayed as strong but not allowed to become muscled, or a female character who doesn't like make up and fashion but is still designed in an 'appealing' way and might have a 'oh no she has to dress all girly and hot against her will and the men will exclaim over her' moment.
Female characters might be given any of the above only for it to feel like the writers punish them for it. Brutally murdering them, having them tortured, having their friends turn against them, or even just the writing around them feeling snarky and pointed. Like a writer making a female character say something right and having a different character be like 'uh-huh, you're probably right like always.' Or a writer making a female character show up the boys in her combat training class only to then have her get brutally beaten on the field like her confidence must be destroyed or proven wrong or something.
Female characters might have everything technically right on paper, and yet be written in thin, spiritless ways that give them no real growth, dismiss their personal narratives, or are just dry like you can tell the writers don't actually want to be writing for the character and don't really care that much about them. Sometimes the misogyny is in the fact that other characters are allowed to have growth arcs and learn and change and go after their goals and make mistakes and forge important connections that are actually relevant, while the female characters that are meant to be important/badass/feminist icons are just a lot thinner and aren't given that same attention and just feel like they're around because the writers feel like they have to be.
I need people to understand that misogyny in media is rampant and that writers rarely seem to be interested in deconstructing their biases, and I need people to understand that the only types of misogyny in media aren't 'women characters only exist to be nameless sexy club girls' and 'women characters only exist to be teary damsel princesses in need of saving.' There's much deeper forms of misogyny in media.
And it's really very frustrating to try to talk about misogyny in various pieces of media and have people hold up shallow level performative stuff and be like 'But if they were misogynistic, they wouldn't have done this, checkmate.' Like, no, that's just the profitable bare minimum people think will get women off their backs. Even when it's meant sincerely (and again, I'm not saying it's always inherently bad) it's most often accompanied by some form of deeper level misogyny.
(Also radfems and terfs leave me alone, DNI, you guys are also really fucking terrible at writing women characters and I swear you've all got misogyny that leaks into that shit too.)

THE D'AMICO CRIME FAMILY RELATIONSHIP MAP.
Content warnings: brief mention of sexual abuse, cartoon imagery of blood, cigars, cigarettes, discussion of struggling to transition, discussion of physical trauma. This AU is centred around a criminal organisation and by default involves mature themes.
Over hours, through a painstaking design process, I created an illustrated map detailing the relationships between frontal characters in my Simpsons alternate universe, The Good Ones. A lot of love and effort has been put into this, so I hope you guys like it! If there are any characters you'd like to see drawn, just let me know.

I know I always say this, but interactions, especially questions would mean SOSOSOSOSOSOSO much to me, as I've put so much thought into this and would LOVE to yap to interested people about it. I know art is done for oneself, but it feels really good to share my creations and hyperfixations with the Simpsons community :)
For every character, I drew a little icon and wrote a line of dialogue, in order to give some inside into their personality and traits in a concise way. A few further explanations and elaborations are given below!
Valentina 'Tits' Albertini
Her icon is a visual pun, featuring two Great Tits drawn in the colours of the transgender flag.
Aside from Memphis, Valentina is the only other explicitly genderqueer character in the AU's focus (Lucy-Mae is heavily implied to fall under the nonbinary umbrella, but she never personally feels the need to explore it further, and is happy with identifying as female). Her former nickname was a play on how ballsy of a person she is within the mafia - though Cora is a wildcard, she makes very rash decisions: Valentina is both calculated and bold, and her current nickname is a crude (fittingly), but well-spirited adaptation introduced by Memphis. After coming out, she experiences backlash from Tony, who is concerned her late transition will impact the image of the mob. Memphis, being a trans man, asks him why Valentina is any different from himself, and in the heat of the moment, Tony exclaims that half the people in their own family have no idea that he's transgender, which leads to some tension between the two. Tits' main character arc revolves around her exploration of gender and gender expression, and the character that plays the biggest role in it is Tony's son, Michele (purposefully drawing parallels between Tony and Memphis' own relationship, and showing social change between generations).
Michele 'Softfoot Mikey' D'Amico
His icon is a nod to his (in this AU) love of ballet, and how he uses it to his advantage in his role as an underboss.
Michele is a simple evolution on Tony's canon son, Michael D'Amico. In this AU, he's been aged up to 23, and instead of having an unconventional love for cooking, has an unconventional love for ballet dance. Most all of his other traits have been kept the same, however, aside from the obvious fact that he's more rational and mature than his in-canon counterpart. He's straight, but is portrayed as very effeminate - and comfortably so. Mikey really just is a girlboss who never fails to (sometimes literally) slay.
Cora 'Connie the Howler' Mezzasalma
Her icon plays on her nickname, portraying a dog with some of her key characteristics, such as a matching necklace given to her by her adoptive brother, as well as a splatter of blood - presumably from one of her usual 'errors'. Her nickname refers to the colloquial term howler, meaning a laughable mistake.
Frankie's awkward adoptive sister of Greek origin, Cora was initially made with the sole purpose of providing a dynamic for Frankie, outside of his relationship with Johnny (which is still the primary relationship explored), but she really grew as a character. Initially I made the name 'Connie the Howler' on the fly as a sort of female version of 'Frankie the Squealer', but I ended up actually putting the effort in to rationalise it and bring it into her character. The result was an awesome little dynamic between two characters who were equally stupid, but in very different ways. She may be responsible for a number of incorrect hits, as well as a good few accidental deaths and injuries, but at the end of the day, she's a silly girl at heart who really synergises with her brother's anxious energy.
Maximus 'Legs' Legman & Luis 'Louie' Walters
Both of their icons refer to an car accident the both of them got into, wherein Legs, ironically, suffered severe damage to his legs (resulting in the amputation of his left one), and Louie underwent significant cranial trauma.
The two do admittedly have a closer relationship because of the shared experience, though they both experience significant impacts. Notably, Louie develops Broca's aphasia (yes, I know the injury is on the wrong side, that's my bad), a form of non-fluent aphasia where one's quality of speech and grammatical structure is significantly diminished - even though the words are in your head, you cannot get them out, usually due to damage to the area of the brain responsible for the production of speech. Louie really struggles in the aftermath, and has a difficult time adapting to his disability. Thankfully, he's got his friend there to help him through it.

• Wilt is a dog person but Larry is a car person, that is one of the main (and probably only) arguments between them
• i already said wilt was a good cook so he'll always make larry small snacks (because Herriman forbids people making their own meals for some reason) and larry will silently cry of happiness for a moment bc "wilt's too good for him"
• wilt blinks like a frog when he zones out and larry also finds it funny
• but on the opposite note, wilt found out that larry will sway side to side when idly standing or zoning out and likes to point it out whenever he does it (wilt finds it funny and cute at the same time)
• they save the corny nicknames for when theyre alone, but publicly will call each other stuff like "shorty" and "carebear" (wilt likes to call larry carebear because he's somehow more caring than anyone hes ever known and is nearly as tall as a bear)
• Wilt scheduled times designated to shit-talking Duchess with eduardo, coco, bloo, mac and frankie (Larry had no idea who Duchess even was but when he met her for the first time he never wanted to punch someone so bad)
• Wilt fish-kisses (looks like a 3) and Larry kisses w tongue
• madame foster now hosts 'pride parties' in june which was inspired by the couple so that residents of the house could feel comfortable while living there (and she got all the tea about them from Frankie)

Senku Propaganda:
"Senku is an amazing character who deserves a chance to win a tournament!!!!! He is so, so smart, and clever, but isn’t condescending or annoying about it. Instead, he wants to share what he knows with everyone!! He passionately believes that everyone else could do what he does, and I love how the anime and manga portray that. Senku being smart isn’t made to be some personality trait, either — it is his curiosity and determination to do his own research and willingness to fail at things that causes him to gain so much knowledge about science! He is shown to be smart through what he does, not as some vague idea of ‘that guy is smart’. As a random thing, I also love characters who are blunt, and Senku absolutely does not hesitate to say what he wants to say or what is on his mind. He’s also a leader that actually acts as a leader, and is shown to be a really kind character through his actions. He is so accepting, too! He understands that people can change, but he also isn’t willing to compromise his own morals, even if the end result might have been materially beneficial to him. One of the coolest things about him (in addition to his science curiosity and general vibes) is also how he is absolutely willing to take a moment to really listen to someone else’s argument or ideology in order to understand what they are thinking, even if he vehemently disagrees. Off the top of my head, the only times where he doesn’t let someone finish explaining themselves is when someone is actively dying or other life-threatening time constraints. As another random thing, his character design is wonderful. He also has a super fast reaction time, and is such a clever leader — he is almost always the first one to react to sudden situations and quickly comes up with a plan to the best of his ability. He always tries to figure out the most logical way to do something, and includes the lives of people in that analysis. He is a funky nerd and I love him as a character a lot. He also just absolutely loves science!!!!!!! He has a special interest in science and is very autism-coded in a very good way!!!!!! Senku is also not at all interested in romance, and has explicitly stated this every time any character brings up romance with him! He has a good relationship with his father (who adopted him and is also amazing)! He wants to be an astronaut, but doesn’t let that stop him from learning all he can about every type of science — chemistry, biology, physics, math, he wants to know it all!!!!!!!"

School can be a pain in the ass so don’t be afraid to take a break off tumblr if you need to. Be strong, I believe in you!
As for general headcanon for the creeps, I’ll share the ones I remember for now and we’ll see which ones are the most intriguing:
Liu is two years older than Jeff in my AU. Liu did forgive Jeff after he attacked him, he understands that his brother was quite young and was overwhelmed by bloodlust at the time. Jeff and Liu currently have a very peculiar dynamic. Jeff knows that Liu forgives him but can’t bring himself to open up to him ever since all those events that happened 10 years ago. Liu wants to repair his relationship with him but Jeff is too distraught from seeing his brother alive and feels immense guilt.
In general, their relationship is very awkward. Liu tries his best to reassure him and has been incredibly patient but Jeff still can’t fully face his past, especially his past mistakes, fully.
Sully’s distaste for Jeff is quite reasonable, Jeff did try to kill Liu after all. Sully isn’t as bloodthirsty as he’s usually portrayed fanon-wise. Yes he has some moments, he’s very snarky, sarcastic and childish since he is 7 years old. But deep down, he’s just a 7 year old alter than holds some signifying trauma and that’s a role he has had to endure for a while. So his emotional outbursts are quite reasonable, especially in relation to Jeff.
Slenderman really likes chess, it’s probably his favorite hobby. He’s used to playing against his grandfather but nowadays he just likes to randomly invite any of the mansion residents to play against him. Even if they aren’t ready for it.
Also Slenderman’s birth name is Edward and he used to have long hair as a kid.
Trenderman is quite the well known fashion designer in a lot of Midrealm cities, one of his favorite models to work with is actually Jane. She didn’t think much of it when she accepted Trender’s offer but it turned out that she loved modeling and continued to model for him. Jane literally fits for almost all of his designs.
Sally has made pink aprons for all of the male mansion residents, enbies included. The aprons have their names or nicknames hand-stitched on the apron too. They wear it with pride whenever they are in the kitchen whether it be making breakfast or having a cook off.
Lazari is generally really artistic. She loves drawing (obviously), painting, poetry, watercolor, you name it. It’s part of how she copes with her trauma as a creative outlet but also because just loves being spontaneous and expressive because she wasn’t allowed to do that before.
Toby has made it a habit to constantly check his body for any wounds, scratches or generally any injuries he might’ve gotten without noticing. He checks every time before he goes to bed. Toby doesn’t really wear a bandage over his cheek gash, he only does if he isn’t wearing his mouth guard mask for a considerable amount of time. He doesn’t want it infected obviously.
Ben can be quite the prankster and quite the rascal. He’s acts like every 12 year old boy basically. Ben isn’t super powerful or anything, he has all the powers that is expected of his species (he’s in multiple categories, another post for another time).
EJ has a mini-fridge in his room full on kidneys, mostly because he hates going back and forth to the kitchen whenever he wants one. Man definitely has some anger/temper issues, he sometimes gets one of those days where he will yell at someone if they briefly glance at him “the wrong way.”

now that Hirogaru Sky is only two episodes away to end (gosh I can't accept it's ending already..) I'm gonna say my honest opinions about all the Cures! therefore let's go :]
Sora Harewataru / Cure Sky
as a leader Cure I think she is pretty awesome
I like how they did her an actual hero like not only in the theming / costume but in her personality too she is super caring and kind pretty much all the episodes that focused on her were good in a way she is a really great character for this season
also really like the fact she was the first non pink leader in Precure history (ignoring Summer because she is rainbow ig)
Nijigaoka Mashiro / Cure Prism
she is so adorable... like seriously she is such a nice little girl and this is enough for her
her relationship with Sora (and the rest of the team too but especially Sora) is so heartwarming and great to see they feel like a family
overall she is also a good character and also got some pretty nice focus episodes
Yuunagi Tsubasa / Cure Wing
my little bird baby (人*´∀｀)｡*ﾟ+ I love how he is clearly the smart / more logical one of the group most of the time and they did an awesome job portraying that
I really like him I think as the first main boy Cure he is great
I just didn't vibed with the whole princess's knight stuff (not that I didn't liked it I just didn't cared about lol)
Hijiri Ageha / Cure Butterfly
she is an icon she is a legend and she is the moment
my favorite Cure from this season easily everything about her is good her design her personality her charisma just everything
for the first official adult Cure they actually wrote the "adult" part of her really good (just like Wing I wished this was more explored) like her struggling at work and thinking she is a "failure"
also really love how she is such a silly little rascal she is really the funniest and most charismatic character of Hirogaru Sky
I think she is gonna the character I'm gonna miss the most when the season ends I love her so much....
Princess Ellee / Cure Majesty
she is the only character in Hirogaru Sky I actually have a more neutral opinion than anything
as a mid season she isn't as bad as Finale or Earth to me her story was actually being constructed in the show until the moment she is reveled as Majesty
but in terms of personality... I don't have much to say since she is a baby most of the time and to add into that she doesn't even had much dialogue in the Majesty form (until now) making her really bland as a character
at least her design is pretty cool though
and that's it! as seen I really actually enjoyed every character (except Majesty whom I just acknowledge that she is there) and I can't wait to see how Wonderful is gonna be! hope we get a character dynamic as good as Hirogaru Sky ^^
