RWBY as a team is so funny because
R, for Ruby, the Silver eyed warrior, and possess an ancient kind of magic given to humanity by one of the gods themselves
W, for Weiss, heiress to the previously largest megacorporation of the world, trying to break free of her name, Granddaughter of a hero, and child of a villain
B, for Blake, the equivalent of a Faunus princess, fighting for their rights and for equality, and also fighting for the world
Y for "I'm Yang let's fight!"

So, answer me this, will you?
If RWBY is as bad as some people claim it is, why does it have a large, dedicated fanbase, 9 seasons, 2 crossover movies, a spinoff anime, a lore mini-series, a mini-series dedicated to fairy tales within the setting, a comedy parody series, crossover comics, 2 novels, 3 video games, and tons of merchandise? That’s not even counting all the fan made art and stories.
Last I checked, series that are unsuccessful and poorly written don’t get that amount of content. So is RWBY actually bad, or are you just spiteful because it wasn’t exactly what you personally wanted?

"Convinced them their world could be saved"
- Salem, Divide
Now I know I'm late to the party but this song really hits SOOO different after rewatching volume 6 and finding out that Oz had NO plan to stop Salem. He's been stalling for thousands of years and convinced Team RWBY, Ironwood and Qrow that they could save the world when he knows they can't.

RWBY and Trauma
So, i want to talk a little bit about RWBY. Specifically, with regards to its thematic storytelling. I think I made a post about this a few days ago but im gonna make a longer one here.
RWBY tackles a lot of themes in its storytelling. Death, grief, fear, trust, etc. to name a few.
One of the bigger themes is "keep moving forward", which was also Monty's motto. It is exemplified through the characters, both heroes and villains, and how they handle trauma and suffering.
The villains have pretty much all suffered. Salem, Cinder, Hazel, Mercury, Emerald, Roman, Neo, even Watts, all suffered. They experienced trauma, and hardship, and it shaped them.
The big difference between them and team RWBY is that they cannot move forward. Where team RWBY learn to grow and change. Salem couldn't accept loss, and grief, and instead turned those emotions to anger, same with Hazel, Adam, Neo, they all refused to move beyond their trauma. Yang put it pretty well in V8 - all this death and destruction because something bad happened to you once upon a time?
Trauma is inevitable. But the difference between the heroes and the villains is how their trauma impacts them going forward. And not just in a "the villains react negatively and the heroes don't" because Ruby reacted poorly, as did Blake, and Weiss in the early volumes. Qrow drinks to deal with it, and Ozpin let the betrayal he experienced define him.
The difference here is that the heroes try to grow and stop making their suffering everyone else's problem. You cannot use your trauma to justify lashing out at the world and other people. I think Kratos in God of War put it quite well - "Do not be sorry. Be better." You can't hurt people because you are traumatised, because all that does is traumatise everyone else. It isn't a justification for lashing out. Salem was traumatised, and she murdered so many people, and traumatised a bunch of other people, who will only continue that cycle.
It is worth noting that some of the antagonists do grow and change and become better. Ilia, Emerald, Hazel, and Neo are the big examples. They were all hurt by the world, and they turned to anger and violence. But Ilia is convinced by Blake that it isn't what she wants, and Blake is right. So Ilia turns away from that path. Hazel and Emerald both change and grow, and whilst Hazel gets the noble sacrifice, Emerald has to make amends for hurting people by being and doing better, and trying to make a positive impact on the world. And Neo had an entire arc culminating in her seeking revenge, and getting it, and realising that it was a hollow victory that left her with nothing but directionless grief and anger. When she had nothing to pursue, she was forced to confront the fact that she was just running from her actual feelings and lashing out. In the end, she chooses to go to the tree willingly, which is essentially willingly giving in to change and growth, because that's what the tree does.
The central conflict of the show is essentially that everyone has suffered, and experienced trauma. But it is the hero's ability and desire to grow beyond it and be better, so that they stop hurting the people around them, that sets them apart from the villains, who refuse to keep moving forward and instead just let their suffering infect everyone else, perpetuating an endless cycle of violence and conflict.

Why are shows with gay people just like 10x better than any other in human existance?
Like every show with a gay person just automatically because revolutionary and has the most amazing fandoms with the most vivid, creative, awe-inspiring plots and word building.
Arcane, Good Omens, BBC Sherlock Holmes, Our Flag Means Death, Umbrella Academy, Shameless, BBC Merlin, The Last of Us, the list goes on!
But I feel like any other show, regardless of genre, just falls flat when it lacks the ✨crispness✨ of queerness. Am I the only one that thinks this?

I wanna thank @tumblingxelian, @markzschiegnerii and @marylizabetha for their videos explaining why RWBY is a fun and enjoyable show that is worth watching, or at least giving a chance.
This video is a compilation of their youtube videos which you should give a watch and subscribe. As to why I'm doing this? Because All we're saying is....GIVE RWBY A CHANCE.
You can also hear from the RWBY Fandom themselves at http://www.tumblr.com/iamafanofcartoons/729899953876566016/rwby-fans-talk-about-what-makes-rwby-enjoyable-for

i love how this week’s rwby beyond episode talks about not just finding the positives in a bad situation, but also about remembering what makes all that suffering worth it. jaune is urged to recall the good times, and the people he’s fighting for, and the love he feels for them.
and this is the EXACT ideology that makes a silver-eyed warrior so powerful. that love and desire to protect and auauhhhhhghhhhh my god the jaune and ruby foils never cease

TEAM RWBY’s REACTION TO THE FALL OF ATLAS
I think I, like a lot of fans, was kind of upset when I started watching volume 9 of RWBY and the only characters who seemed even remotely depressed about the outside world were Ruby and Weiss.
But I really do think episode 6 addressed a lot of the concerns I had with Blake, Yang and- to an extent- Weiss’ attitudes towards the fall of Atlas.
We know Ruby is depressed because she has always thought of a herself as a huntress, and by extension a hero, but she didn’t save Atlas. And she didn’t save the relics, which was her main priority all throughout volume 8: to keep Salem from getting Penny and the relics. She failed at both.
Weiss is more complex which is fine. She’s sad that Atlas fell but I really don’t know if she knows that Whitley and Willow made it out safely or not. She at least, knows that she failed to stop Cinder, she failed to save her kingdom and her older sister is a maiden (she knows that literally all the maidens are targets and Winter will be in danger).
Blake and Yang, I honestly feel like don’t care all that much about Atlas falling. They’ve shown concern over Cinder having the relics (which is warranted) but Yang has always been concerned about the people and as far as she knows from Jaune, the people of Atlas made it to Vacuo mostly unscathed, so she achieved her goal. And I’m pretty sure Blake had no narrative goal throughout the Atlas Arc, she was helping Yang, and then she was helping Ruby and now she’s with Yang again. I don’t think she would care much about The kingdom of Atlas or the atlesians themselves considering a lot of them are racist elitists.
Obviously I hope they go more into depth to Blake and Yang’s feelings on the matter because I’m canon they really haven’t had a lot of screen time to talk about the outside world. Maybe now that their ship is canon and their relationship is stable they’ll be more in the center of the plot? As much as I love Weiss and Ruby, the bees have been in the background since volume 6 and even in volume 8 Yang had one moment before she became comedic relief again. I really hope they get some much needed progression in terms of the plot.

Why are so many people on Tumblr/Twitter claiming Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss are bad shows??? "They're not mid shows guys they're just bad" can y'all give me one concrete reason they're bad besides debunked "controversies" or things that other people told you were bad about em?
Like I'm halfway convinced all of these people claiming these are such bad shows and are annoyed about em haven't actually watched them - "I don't need to watch a show to know it's bad" pretty sure you do if you want to have an informed opinion, that goes for everything actually.
If you're annoyed by the hype and the fan culture?? That's fine we all got our things but that doesn't make the shows themselves bad I think y'all just like having someone to poke fun of without feeling like a bully and honestly?? That seems like a miserable way to live.
